GH day: Put a day on repeat for as long as you want. Repeatable. You can sleep all you want then hit replay so you're feeling great, screw around on a great day, perfectly figure out people to reach your goals, then pick a time to perfect it and move on to the next. And you can set reset conditions like "If I feel strong pain instantly reset so I never actually feel it."
1 per month perfect outcome: You're probably picking the lottery the first time right? Bends reality so the ticket appears where you go to buy it. But you could use it for other things. Whatever single task you try at you can make yourself get the best outcome. Can't be used for complex chains of tasks like "Make a multinational corp." Could be used to leap over one tall building in a single bound.
Isekai mode: You imagine a fictional world and can inject yourself into it at the level of a protagonist. So you can't be god beyond the setup or unbeatable. But you can be relatively strong. You'll just have rivals. Or you could pick something more mundane with less conflict as your fantasy world. You design your main character then become them. Everyone else is not designed by you except in broad ways. For example you can choose to make a civilization have a form of government that the people will know. But you can't guarantee it's stable after that. You can't make it work if it really wouldn't or make it rich if it would fail to the competition. The people will be products of that environment.
If you pick an existing one you're the protagonist of that story though. Sorry Lord of the Rings fans. Hairy feet.
Out of phase time travel: You can travel through time to any period you want. See dinosaurs, look at the big bang. You'll be like a ghost, observe invincibly but not impact anything. And you can't take any proof of anything with you. So you could solve all kinds of mysteries and questions for yourself. Gain untold knowledge. But never prove it to anyone else or take anyone with you.

I hate my engagement ring.
It’s technically a promise ring, a really tacky promise ring with lots and lots of bling and swirly wavy designs and not 1, but 2 halos. It’s like the equivalent to those corny heart shaped necklaces no girl wants…
I was extremely clear with my husband before we got engaged with what I wanted in a ring. I sent him Pinterest boards and links to exact rings within budget, we went ring shopping together a few times where I showed him the style I like. Yet he went in the complete opposite direction assuming I would like it.
I made excuses for it to make myself feel better and to cut my husband some slack so I didn’t freak out. He only had like $1000 to spend, he only had 1 day to buy it in person without me being suspicious, he went with his dad instead of my friends because it was so short notice my friends couldn’t go with him and his dad sucks at giving gifts to women (my husband gets that from him lol)
I brought this up to my husband 6 months after he proposed because I couldn’t get myself to grow to love the ring. I really tried. I just felt so weird showing off my engagement ring and seeing everyone’s underwhelming reactions. He got upset that I didn’t love the ring, he felt like a failure, and like I lied to him saying I loved it so much the last few months, etc. we eventually agreed that when we have the money to replace it then we will.
I’m at the point (and to be fair I have always been at this point) that I don’t care about the money. I don’t care about how much it costs or if it’s real diamonds. I’m not that type of person. I just care if it looks nice and is my style. Walmart has some nice rings that are my style and I’d rather wear a Walmart ring that is my style than continue wearing a ring that just reminds me of how my now husband basically flopped on one of the most important purchases of our lives.
We’re almost a year married now, nearly 2 years after he proposed, and I still hate the ring. I have a wedding band that matches it but it only costed $70 since I was planning on getting a new ring soon-ish and the only band that would match this ring is also not my style at all.
I love him dearly, and I know saying all this would hurt him, so maybe I’ll just “lose” my ring so we’ll have no choice but to get a ring for cheap that is my style!
I feel less bad about it since my husband literally lost his wedding ring mere months after we got married. Still haven’t found or replaced it since we both know he’ll lose it again. So maybe it would make him feel better if I lost mine too!
So that’s my plan I guess. Call me a villain, i don’t really care since this is Reddit after all. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

2023.05.29 00:44 Godorok [Bug?!] Game drops at like 2 frames per second after killing specific bosses. Anyone else?
Elden Ring is now super broken for me at this moment for some unknown reason (never was like that before). Basically whenever I kill a MAIN PROGRESSION BOSS while playing, the game just starts lagging like crazy to the point where it becomes so slow and broken that I believe it’s on the brink of crashing but refuses to. This occurs when “Great Enemy defeated” appears on screen and the boss dies. Bosses I’ve observed this happen on are bosses like Margit and Godrick, yet field bosses and small dungeon bosses (catacombs and caves) never have this problem. I really doubt that this is a Bad PC problem since I have very good specs. Has anyone else been affected by this or is it just me? Btw this lasts all the way back to the main menu until you completely close the game (i just wanna play normally again 😭☠️)

There are a couple decent items in the relic store (teleport ring and a +7 backstab +3 surprise attack weapon. They are level 5 items and my party is around level 10. Would it be a waste to buy those? Should I be saving my relic dust for higher levels?

Inspired by my previous post, I’ve started a 9 Curse Run and taken copious notes, see below
Start with Table Tech Money and Mailbox Hit Shrine for 9 Curse Master Round First Floor plus Galactic Medal of Valor Oubliette not a Single Hit Found a Red Chest, it’s a Mimic, beat it down with just my Starting Gun, drops Spice. Check the Wiki, the first hit is just 0.5 spice, so it must flow, and flow it does. Cursed Blobulord, only other Gun I have is Crossbow, turns out to be a powerhouse that shreds through him like paper Fight through 3 Mimics and 2 Lead Maidens with little/no Ammo, plus a Spice drop that I had to leave to the Rat, I don’t need the temptation. Get blindsided by a Blue Rubber Bullet, lose the Crest No Hit the Fuselier Get hit Twice by Beholster because I somehow forget I don’t have any Blanks left, despite the fact I had plenty of money to buy more Get 4/4 on Winchester’s Game, granting me an C Rocket Launcher Beat the Tank to get Cloranthy Ring and the Hot Rolls synergy which I’ve never had before; my rolls are now setting things on fire and I love it Start the Rat Level, go to jump into the first pit, hit a Cursed Rat and lose 2 hearts. Lovely. Beat the Rat Have to resist picking up a Sixth Chamber Clear the Hollow, main cause of deaths is running into Cursed enemies with my enhanced speed Find the Demon Market Find Table Tech Blanks, between that and Table Tech Shotgun, any room with tables is an instant clear now Buy my 3rd Ammolet, use Duct Tape to lash my C Rocket Launcher to my Stinger, double the rockets Use the Rat’s items to basically cheat at Winchester’s game, Karma bites back and rewards me the Microtransaction Gun. Ew Kill Dragun, Quick Reset
Next Paradox Run starts with the Battery Gun and Skeleton Key. Nice

I made a PCPartPicker list for my PC that I will use for gaming in 1080p and also 1440p if I felt like it. I mainly play First-Person Shooters but do also play games like Elden Ring.
My budget for this build was around 1000-1250 euro. I had already settled on an RX 6800 XT and chose the other parts after. Are these parts a good fit for this PC? Or are there any changes that I should make?

for a bit of context, my mum is chronically ill with lupus. she also has scarring on her lungs and obstructive sleep apnea so needs to use a CPAP machine at night.
recently she hasn’t been using it, first because she got a new mask which was uncomfortable and didn’t fit properly, and now because she’s worried about electricity costs.
she has had a few instances of sleep paralysis in the past, these stopped when she was using her machine regularly which makes sense given she was actually getting some good sleep.
since she stopped using it she has had two sleep paralysis experiences, but they have me a little worried since i have no idea what’s normal in the case of sleep paralysis past visual and auditory hallucinations and not being able to move and sometimes having trouble breathing.
the most recent event she described fairly normally until she got to the point of waking up (typical heavy feeling, paralysis, hallucinations, trying to scream and not making a sound etc). she said that once she managed to move, she rolled over and opened her eyes and everywhere she looked in her room there were cracks. she described her ears ringing, having a splitting headache, and slurred speech. she says she feels completely out of it today, like she can’t concentrate on anything.
she’s never had these things in other sleep paralysis events, and i’ve never heard these symptoms in other peoples stories. it’s got me rather worried given her already poor health. i thought i’d come here to ask if these are normal parts of sleep paralysis or if i need to encourage her to get checked out earlier than her regular appointments.
i’ve told her many times she needs to use her mask, even offered to buy a new, better fitting one for her, and told her her health isn’t worth playing with for cheaper electricity bills, there are other things we can sacrifice to lower costs. she’s a stubborn woman but i just hope she will listen.
any advice or reassurance is greatly appreciated <3

Humans have an unusually high risk tolerance among the galaxy's sapients. Watching a human operate their own equipment can be truly something to behold (from a safe distance).Griz'ek and Summer Breeze were sitting in a cafe, enjoying their evening meal when two humans sprinted past them. Remembering the Confederation's second rule when living and working with humans (if they're running away from something, you run too) Griz and Summer jumped out of their seats and took off after them.
Perhaps their utter indifference to death and dismemberment developed as a result of evolutionary pressures on their planet. Among worlds that support sapient life, theirs is unusually competitive.
Or it could just be cultural.
As soon as Griz and Summer started after the humans, they heard the alarm. One of the ships on the docking ring had an overspeed alarm, it's hooting trill making it very clear that something was very wrong.
The humans passed the pressure door for the docking ring, and a small crowd trotted after them.
One of the humans, a male Griz thought, looked down the hall worried, "Is that everyone? Station! Is anyone left on the docking ring?"
"I don't detect anyone within the confines of the docks. Sealing doors." The pressure doors came down with a muffled slam. A moment later there was a thump as the stricken ship was ejected from the docking ring, and then the windows in the hall went white from the flash a split second before the anti-glare shields darkened the images.
The female human looked to the other. "Okay, okay you were right. adding a 3% solution of telmurian gas caused it to overspeed."
"What did I tell you?" Summer could have sworn the second human looked smug, but they weren't completely sure about human body language. "I said that the telmurian gas was much too volatile. It was never going to work"
"Well, yes, I see that now Jamie. What do you recommend then?"
Jamie nodded his head. "We should have increased the outer compensator allowance by 10 microns."
The female human rolled her eyes. "That would cause an unacceptable amount of coke buildup and you know it. If it was that easy, the Confederation would have done it already!"
Finally, Griz'ek spoke up. "I'm sorry, but what happened?"
Jamie and the other human looked over, and with a realization that they had an audience, they looked sheepish. "Oh, I'm sorry. Mary here-:" Jamie gestured "-thought that if we injected a 3% solution of telmurian gas into the engines we'd get a stable 15% increase in drive output."
Summer Breeze's feathers rippled concern. "But, telmurian gas is highly dangerous! It's downright explosive. Why would you mix it into the drive beam?"
Mary looked defiant. "It would have worked if the Remlar Drive Yards knew how to make an engine. Human thrusters are always overbuilt by a factor of two or three. It would have been fine if the injection chamber came from Niven." She looks at Jamie. "The next ship we buy is 100% human made."
Summer Breeze couldn't help themselves. Their feathers puffed out and they gestured angrily. "You tried injecting a known explosive gas into the drive beam and though it would make it work better?"
Mary looks surprised. "Yes? How else do you gain efficiencies? Sure, sometimes it explodes, but other times you get a Flip drive."
Humans tended to use their own domestically developed Flip drive to travel between the stars. It was quite a bit faster than the Confederation's FTL Warp, but most other sapients considered it much too unstable to use.
Griz looked at the humans with awe. "But, your ship was destroyed."
Jamie shrugged. "We'll get another, and everyone is fine. Chalk it up to lessons learned." He looked out the window. "Hey Station, anyone get hurt?"
"No Jamie, there was no damage other than your ship - which was completely destroyed. The ejection systems worked perfectly."
Jamie smiled at Griz and Summer. "See? No harm done."
Summer couldn't stand it anymore. "NO HARM DONE HE SAYS. HE HAS NO SHIP!" Summer's feathers won't stop rippling up and down.
Griz puts his tentacle around his friend. "Come on Summer, let's leave the humans to their own insanity and go get some drinks-" He glares at Jamie and Mary "-on the other side of the station. Summer Breeze continues on, "THEY JUST THOUGHT IT WAS FINE TO ADD AN EXPLOSIVE TO THEIR DRIVE JUST TO SEE WHAT IT WOULD DO!"

I have a 165hz monitor and i set my refresh rate to 165hz from nvidia control panel.
When i open elden ring, i've noticed (with xbox gamebar) the game turned to 60hz, it lag a bit sometimes as always, but i've noticed one particular thing.
This particular is if i play on full screen, the game turned black for a sec and back to the game,and when i close it and going to desktop, it goes black well.
Somebody can help me and tell me why this is happening? :)
P.S: i'm playing on borderless windowed, with a rtx 3060, 16gb ram and a i5 12500 12th gen

Hey everyone! I recently played Demon’s Souls remake after playing Elden Ring a lot during the past year. It was amazing, everything felt different but same in so many ways. Completed 3 build runs and platted the game. So I got DS1 remastered, which somehow feels even better! Looking forward to DS2-3 afterwards but this has to be the best souls game, can’t see anything topping this even tho I’m still very much at the beginnings of the game.
Sorry for the long intro but I’m really excited! Anyway. I still haven’t rung the second bell and have so far killed taurus, capra, gargoyles and butterfly. I started with cleric class and the master key. Currently using drake sword, dragon crest shield, astora straight sword and talisman. Got the FAP and Wolf rings. Elite Knight armor with gargoyle helm.
I have a couple of questions. When can I find some good miracles like lightning stuff or weapon buffs? Should I level in Faith of Strength first? So far I’ve mainle raised vitality and endurance, with my str and dex enough to wield my current weapons and armor. Third, should I main Faith and get some blessed weapons or go strength main and add weapon buffs? Also when can I expect to find weapon buffs? Would you reccommend str, dex, or quality as the best path for adding faith weapon buffs?
Couple of points. I don’t like using the big slow weapons. I generally enjoy paladin-like builds with weapons like straight and great swords. Maybe some maces or rapiers. I also don’t care much for pvp beyond a few fights here and there, but I don’t want to overlevel and bulldoze through the game just because I don’t care about pvp level caps.
Any and all help is appreciated. I already know the story through countless lore videos and live plays etc so you can keep it as spoilery as you like. Praise the Sun!

I was using arch linux for a past year and it was awesome, but lately I finally got a new RTX 3060 and i finally wanted to play some games and I feel like gaming on linux is overrated. I mean I tried couple of games and all of them suck on Linux compared to windows. For example in elden ring on windows I'm easily getting stable 60fps while on Linux I can barely hit 50 with constant drops to 30. God of war on windows, easy 100+ fps on Linux barely 60 with drops. Forza horizon 5 didn't even launch under Linux same as Red Dead redemption 2. Even games like deep rock galactic run poorly under Linux. I tried pretty much every 5-8 wine/proton/protonGE version on all of this games and it didn't change anything. I even made some fresh Manjaro setup to see if my arch setup was broken but no, it runs the same. I have latest drivers, everything is updated, everything is set to max performance. I mean the only game I was able to run smoothly for now is Doom 2016. Is arch just shitty distro for games and I should try something like Ubuntu? I just fell like I'm the only person that has problems with gaming on Linux everyone else are saying they can run everything in 60 frames and some games run even better under linux compared to windows. I also thought that maybe Nvidia cards are just dogshit under linux and I should have bought amd. What do you think? Any advice?

So I’ve been trying my usual “get rich and then get powerful” routine in Skyrim, and then I had this routine.
I’d first make an ultra powerful ring which allows me to create super powerful potions and then I’d sell those potions to vendors for merchandise. However? While selling, I’d “reset their inventory”
To reset an NPC’s inventory, this is what you have to do:
1- Buy whatever it is you want from a vendor
2- Quicksave
3- Attack the vendor
4- Reload the quicksave. The vendor should be restocked in terms of currency and supply when you reload.
5- repeat endlessly until you run out of things to sell for merchandise
Does this work in Fallout 4? Can I just have my gun out, purchase my goods and then, like, quick save and pop a cap in Myrna’s head before reloading the quicksave and boom, her inventory will be reset? Or will I have to do my “wait two days” thing? Because I have a lot of purified water I gotta sell, like over 100K units from when I last remember, so if I can use this method it will save me a lot of time.

Not something like the standalone Beren and Lúthien and The Fall of Gondolin, showing the various versions in succession from the 1910s onward, but rather something more akin to Volumes 5-9 of History of Middle-earth which show the drafting and development of The Lord of the Rings, but specifically for the 1950s version as shown in Unfinished Tales and The Children of Húrin. It certainly sounds interesting from what has been told about it. We know the ending was written first, everything from "The Return of Túrin to Dor-lómin" to the end, around 1951, and then the beginning working onwards was written in the years following the publication of The Lord of the Rings (so maybe 1955-59). It seems like there was quite a lot of working, and especially in the middle portion it would be interesting to see the development, for example Christopher talks about "the labyrinth of drafts and notes" and that "to give an example from an earlier point, a primary text for the story of the coming of Túrin's band to the hill of Amon Rûdh... was written before there was any suggestion of the Petty-dwarves; and indeed a fully-developed description of Mîm's house beneath the summit appears before Mîm himself."
And I'm sure even the more fully developed beginning and end would have interesting things in the drafts that would be fun to know about. Of course Christopher had the most complete understanding of all the relevant materials, but I'm sure one of the great scholars out there could still make a proper analysis with proper time and study. I'd buy the book if they ever decided to make one for sure.
