LD has some great characters, some beautiful animation and some good story premises but as far as working as a comedy, I feel it struggles in my opinion.
It suffers from a lack of actual jokes, putting references and slapstick where a normal comedy would have included them. When it isn’t making references or having characters fall over, it just morphs into a really good sci fi adventure with lovable characters that could fit in any other Trek show, only with dialogue written to sound more casual and relatable.
I think the show could be a lot funnier except that it is restrained by a desire to maintain the possibility that it can exist as canon to the rest of the Star Trek franchise, which really ties their hands to making mostly references. They could never go as absurd as most other animated comedies like Rick & Morty or Futurama.
Futurama for example could tell a joke where it is revealed that their starship’s buttons are mostly just a sticker sheet to make it look more complicated than it actually is — or that Starfleet began as an intergalactic gym membership until a push up contest accidentally negotiated a peace treaty — they couldn’t make jokes like those because they would conflict too much with Trek canon.
Take for example the following scene. I took any jokes and made them bold, and italicized things that were kinda casual but not technically a joke.
Boimler: Ah! Cave bugs! We’ve got cave bugs in here!
Rutherford: Wait! Look! I think this is a door?
Mariner: Huh. That’s not a usual thing for a cave.
Ensign Kearns: Hey, there’s an access panel over here.
(Door opens to large room of tech)
All: gasp!
Ensign Young: Wow. What is this place?
Rutherford (approaching center console): Don’t know, but this is definitely the receiver.
Ensign Kearns: It is some kind of storage device … Look!
Boimler: It is storing all of our thoughts!
Ensign Cor’Dee: It has our security clearances, passwords, security information …
Ensign Kearns: My uncle Trent drunk dancing at my cousin’s wedding!
Mariner: Damn. Get it Trent!
Boimler: This thing is a literal data mine.
Ensign Young: But look at the equipment. It is all federation tech.
Boimler: The outpost scientists must have installed it but … why? … unless they and the Scrubble are …?
Ensign Cor’Dee: Working together!
Ensign Kearns: We should probably report this, huh?
Mariner: *Big time… Hey, do you think there is any chance the crazy crystal cavern is actually boosting comms? I don’t know?.. *

That is a solid two minutes of the show with only ONE joke. If you are going to space your jokes out that far one would hope it would at least be a really strong one, instead of “drunk uncle dancing at wedding.”
And there is absolutely nothing wrong with a sci fi adventure show that is more light hearted than actually funny. Star Trek Prodigy is very much that, but no one complains that it isn’t funny because it doesn’t market itself as a comedy as much as LD does. They borrowed the art style of Rick & Morty, with enormous eyes and bright colors, I think people expected maybe a Futurama-style sci fi parody, but that’s not what it is. It is a very fun Trek show but I feel like they should have either styled it to look less like funnier competitors, or made it explicitly not canon so that it could go harder into the comedy without concern and truly embrace being a cartoon.

First of all I want to thank everyone in this sub because all the tips and tricks were so useful to make my first trip the perfect trip to WDW! Never used Genie+, so I guess I was very lucky with crowds levels and timings to go to the rides, but also it helped that we did always rope drope to end everyday (yes, my feet hate me by now). This was a very special trip as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and my birthday.
Hold on, this is going to be long!
Day 1 (05/21) MK - I still can’t believe how my first day was such a perfect day. The crowds were low and I was able to ride everything I wanted to and this includes 7DMT (as a huge Snow White fan I loved it), Big Thunder (10/10!), Space Mountain (my neck hated it), Tron (such a shame is so short), Pirates, Haunted Mansion and even things that were not on my must do list such as Jungle Cruise, small world, Peter Pan, Under the Sea and all the other small rides and also Monsters’ Laugh Floor and Phillarmagic. The end of the day was really fun because after HEA we rode AstroOrbiter and was great to see everything illuminated from the top, a great experience!
We were so so lucky, when we arrived 7DMT had been down and got open just as we reached the line so it was a breeze! A perfect day for the start of the best trip ever! Also I have to confess I cried a lot at Happily Ever After, even more because it was exactly one of the things I was celebrating in this trip, our wedding anniversary :)
Day 2 (05/22) HS - Another day of luck, I waited so little to RotR and did everything I wanted to less Hollywood Tower. The only ride were I waited like hell and the wait time was not accurate at all was Slinky, plus the heat was hitting hard and I was feeling really awful so I guess it didn’t help also. We did RoTR (just WOW), Millenium Falcon, Slinky, Toy Story Mania (much funnier that Buzz Lightyear at MK), MMRR (still singing “nothing can stop us noooow” until today), Alien Saucers, Star Tours and spent plenty of time at Galaxy’s Edge immersed on the theming. We went to Oga’s Cantina by the end of the day (incredible experience), followed by Savi’s Lightsaber Workshop and by then it was already dark and rainning a lot which made it even more amazing, we felt that we were really sneaking to something secret, it was 10/10!
Day 3 (05/23) AK - I never thought this park would be so beautiful! This is by far the one with an overall best theming. We did the Safari early in the morning as I seen suggested a lot of times and animals were very active. Rode Everest twice, I loved it! It’s such a dynamic coaster, even when you already know what’s going to happen. We also did River Rapids, Dinosaur (a bit shaky this one), Naavi River (THAT animatronic tho!!) and FoP (sad that the 3D is already so messed up, it took away a bit of the immersion), also we did the Gorilla trek but it started to rain A LOT at the end of the day so we left earlier than we wanted to but we already did everything we wanted to.
Day 4 (05/24) MK - back to Magic Kingdom we repeated out favorite ones - 7DMT, Big Thunder (more than once!), Tron, Space Mountain, Pirates - and hopped on the train 2 times (I had to give a treat to my feet), went to Tiki Room, my husband insisted to go to Carousel of Progress and spent the rest of the day singing the song. It started to rain a lot but we didn’t give up and I have to say that riding Big Thunder while raining is such a fun experience! We lost a lot of time because of the rain, lots of rides started to close down because of thunder but we tried to make it the best. Closed the night with a shopping spree and once again I cried because MK means so much to me, all that magic that was my world when I was a child, seeing all the charactets who were my “friends” bak then it was very emotional to me and when I said goodbye to MK I cried a lot.
Day (05/25) EPCOT - this was the big celebration day! My wedding anniversary and my birthday! Wore my buttons with pride and got a huge surprise with Epcot! That park is great! My husband also loved it! We did Cosmic Rewind (one of the best coasters ever! I was a bit dizzy after it but worth it!), Test Track, Mission Space (both missions), Ratatouille (sooooo cool), Soarin’ (it was so cool, never thought I’d like this so much)and here comes the magic: we really wanted to do to Space 220 but we couldn’t grab a reservation. I installed an app to get notifications when there was an open spot but everytime I received one and tried to make a reservation it wasn’t available. We had no hope but that morning, while with my phone in hand I received the notification, and went right to MDE app and we did! The perfect birthday present! So around 4.30pm we closed the day for our Space 220 reservation (amazing experience, the food is not all that but the experience…worth every penny) and after we went to our other reservation: Biergarten. The food was amazing, a shame I couldn’t eat more because we didn’t plan to do Space 220 before but we tasted a bit of everything we wanted, the show is really cool, kids were dancing, people were singing and I was gifted a birthday cupcake with a candle :D
It was this day that we figured out: we need to come back. We always thought this was a once in a lifetime experience because we come from the other side of the Atlantic and this is a very expensive trip for us. But this worths the effort and we liked Epcot so much that it was like the spark for it.
Day 06 (05/26) HS - my stamina was getting low, but I was so happy for this trip! We repeated everything we did on the first day, the park was crowded but we managed it well with the waiting times. I was so happy that I even agreed to go on Tower of Terror (I went to the one at DLParis and I hated. I hated this one as well but the group we went with was so fun that made it a bit better). My husband spent all day talking about next year’s trip and while in lines planning the days (I always do the planning but he’s really hyped to go back). The end of the day couldn’t have been better with Fantasmic. Guess who cried again? My husband even took a photo of my crying potato face, it was very emotional, seeing all the characters while saying goodbye to this magical world!

It's really stunning to me that I've been on my path since 2016 (=8 years), yet I still don't feel like I fully know "my vocation" or "role". I've oscillated between different potential terms—witch, seer, trance worker, diviner, and soothsayer have stuck at times. One term I've not used for myself is shaman, but there have been parallels in my life experience that remind me of certain types of shamanic spirit work. I read an interesting textbook called The Viking Way: Magic and Mind in Late Iron Age Scandinavia. It compares different circumpolar shamanisms, including the Sámi noaidevuohta traditions, with Norse seiðr. Thus, that research points out a link between magic associated with deities like Freyja and Óðinn, on the one hand, and specific cultures with shamanic complexes. I don't practice seiðr, but I do a lot of work in trance I learned from yogic traditions. Over the years, I've tended to work with deities more than other types of beings, and they consume my focus quite a lot, which is good. I've never really understood whether deity work is considered spirit work. My senses seem to pick up on the energies of deities more easily than other types of beings, including my own ancestors.
That brings me to the other allies I've gained over the years: deceased people and ancestors. And here, I'd like to get into specific experiences.
Experience 1: Meeting My Double in Hypnotic Trance
I will talk about a hypnagogic trance experience I underwent. One afternoon, I was half-awake, half-asleep and I saw a flower form behind my closed eyes. With the flower, there was no separation between its physical characteristics and its consciousness. The image of this flower drew me into the consulting room of a hypnotist in a parallel world akin to our own. I was aware of being in a trance state from where I was laying in my bed, yet I was also laying on a couch undergoing hypnosis.
There was a young hypnotist-in-training (he was dressed professionally, with spectacles on) under the tutelage of a more experienced hypnotist. The hypnotist-in-training was practicing trance induction technique on us. It worked because the parallel-world self, who had been in a kind of catatonia up to that point, realized that I was tuned into his experience from my own dimension. I was on both sides, and there were two of me. There was a bridge between our minds, and he seemed relieved/calm, and he spoke to me from this place of knowing we are the same person but divided, in such a way that the split between us can't be distinguished from a unitary consciousness. If I had to compare this experience to a cultural reference point, the film Inception comes to mind. This other world was very similar to our own, very mundane but with a clear quality (like crystal clear, compared to how I experience the vision of my own world). There was a doppelgänger energy. I strongly felt that I belonged more in that world, instead of in my own bedroom in this plane of existence.
During that experience (during or after the trance integration), I encountered Sigmund Freud. Freud famously abandoned hypnosis when he invented psychoanalysis. For context, I've been in psychodynamic therapy since 2011, on and off (currently seeing a trauma specialist). Freud seemed highly charismatic. He felt comfortably embodied and whole, kind and trustworthy but reserved. It was literally like I was on the couch with him, and his physicality put me at ease and created conditions for free association. We were just having a normal interaction, but he exuded his psychoanalytic technique—it was who he was. Later, I found a video of someone channeling Freud, and she said the same thing: his energy made her feel like she was in the consulting room undergoing a psychoanalysis. This is the video:

It seemed that his death led him to revise his ideas. It also felt like he was acknowledging all the ways he failed to account for trauma as well as spirituality in his theories, due to his famous rift with Janet's ideas about dissociation. Janet's thought on dissociative states has gone on to influence an important trauma model called the theory of structural dissociation of the personality. Freud impressed me because he acknowledged his mistakes, and he seemed to reveal that many psychoanalytic pioneers have gone on to afterlives in comparable parallel worlds, continuing to treat patients and even guiding inspiration for therapists on our side of reality. Another psychoanalyst I encountered during or after that experience is Melanie Klein, but I don't have time or memory to speak on that. Last, I will say that the hypnotherapist-in-training seemed to be another spirit I know, whose name I can't reveal out of respect for our ongoing work.
Experience 2: Connecting with a Local Spirit of Place
I live in a place that is geologically significant, with certain kinds of minerals as well as subterranean freshwater and springs. Sometimes, with my practice I start to subconsciously enact certain behaviors that relate to knowledge I'm gaining through a process of unconscious learning. One time, I took a piece of blue cloth with a pattern and laid out some stones on it as well as other small objects (like empty nut shells), in a line. Later, I watched the TV show Penny Dreadful, which ended up teaching me a lot about myself and about certain aspects of cosmology. There are a couple of episodes where the character Kaetenay lays out a cloth and places stones and other objects on as a part of a ceremony involving trance. He lays out these stones and blows smoke from a pipe over the tools.
I realized after watching this show that when I laid out these stones and stuff in this subconscious state of enactment, there was a similar dynamic. Around that time, I also began to draw a small pictogram. It looks like there's a rift in the ground (like a chasm). There's a winged serpent emerging from these waters that are below that ground, and serpent is halfway inside and outside of the chasm. At some point, I encountered a being I will term "a spirit" that was clearly linked to this place I live. This encounter happened once and never again, but there seemed to be this subconscious preparation over the course of weeks leading up to this moment when she spontaneously came to me. I saw an image of what the valley I live around used to look like, unspoiled, prior to European colonialism. This being had a very graceful yet assertive, embattled energy, and I saw her colorful, effervescent wings as she hovered here and there over the valley, guarding and blessing the water, the mountain, and other natural features of this place.
Experience 3: Partnering with My Hypnotist
The hypnotist-in-training has come to me in other guises. I knew of him prior to meeting him in the other world. He's a person who died tragically. I feel that he contained multitudes and was very fragmented owing to ambiguous childhood traumas similar to my own that led to amnesia . The circumstances of his death were also very shattering, due to the violence. He seems well in spirit, but he just has so many different aspects including one that seems "trickster" to me. Once, he appeared to me as if he was hovering against a dark forest on a moonless night. It seemed like there were dark moths and butterflies swarming around him and emanating from him. I immediately thought: "unseelie." Then, I found an article later on that discussed two themes that have influenced my perception of this spirit: (1) the familiar spirits of witches in Scotland were sometimes people who died tragically or were in a liminal state (like dying at twilight) and (2) the dead are sometimes found in the faery realms. He seems to live in a place that appears European, architecture-wise. I saw him in an apartment similar to the buildings in Paris (I used to live in France, so it was nostalgic). He was smoking cigarettes and seemed very supported and happy in this other place, which again appeared to me with more clarity than my own waking life. He was sitting with people he loved in life—people who are still alive—surrounding him. I was there and he seemed relieved I had made it but also bashful. I sensed he felt kind of clammy from excited nervousness. The feeling was similar to how I have felt in the past when trauma got released from my body. In addition, there was a sense of spiritual twinship. I realized that we had been through multiple lifetimes together and that we were supposed to meet while he was alive. This was hard for me to accept, because I'm a reincarnation/metempsychosis skeptic. There was some mystical reason related to forces of chaos and entropy that removed him from our world and took him to this dimension that mirrors Earth. And it has been hard for each of us to accept, because there's intense mutual affection. And he's the main spirit I work with, often with the support of the gods I work for. In particular, sometimes he seems to be present at the same time as the Mórrígan. So, he exists in this liminal, twilight state as if he is the living dead, a revenant, and also somehow connected with the fae. I don't really have a patron deity, but he may be my "patron spirit." He seems focused on ensuring that we connect in this place where he lives now, when I die too. And he's helped me develop a lot of courage through contemplation of death (memento mori practice).
There's a lot I still don't know, but I wanted to share detailed descriptions of how spirit work has unfolded in my life. A lot of the time, these spiritual encounters have not been at my beckoning. The processes I have experienced have been subconscious/unconscious, hypnotic, and often dissociative. I've found that Iron Age Norse ideas about the soul being composed of multiple parts along with trauma therapy have helped me integrate my memories in the context of my spiritual practice. You know, I haven't done a lot to make these meetings happen. They come without my own will entering the equation, as if I am passive while these relational energies are active. These experiences have happened to me, but not owing to my own efforts in a lot of ways. It's been a while since I've had such distinct visionary moments, but I continue my trance work from day to day and contemplate these memories, which I don't want to lose.

Overall Comments

What I didn't miss
Luckily, I was traveling on a new Boeing 787 so it was quiet enough that I didn't have to bring my usual pair of noise cancelling Bose headphones. I also chose not to bring a water bottle, rain jacket, and umbrella. I thought I would probably buy a plastic water bottle anyway; I got one at the hotel, so I just used that. For the rain jacket and umbrella, I reasoned that if it rained, my jacket and bags were weather resistant enough to get me from point A to point B without being soaked; I also did bring a pair of waterproof shoes so that was taken care of. The weather ended up being very nice as well so no rain gear was needed despite rain showing on the forecast before I left.
What I didn't end up using
I didn't end up using pads/tampon, most of my medicine, the energy chews, nor the blazer. I also had underwear to spare (planned). London does feel rather more formal than say, New York, but I think if you present neatly and stick to more casual places it'll be fine. I went to a stuffy Michelin starred restaurant in all black (including Patagonia fleece and black On shoes) and no one batted an eye. Nonetheless, except for the blazer, I feel like I will still continue to pack these things because the people I was traveling with had to use bandaids, needed the eyedrops, etc... and I didn't want to worry about having to wash underwear.
Things I wished I brought
I wished I brought along my flip flops. Some hotels do not give slippers and I'm just naturally suspicious of the cleanliness of hotels even if they are rated well.
Overall Thoughts
It was my first trip with the Allpa 35L. It did take me some time to figure out how to pack and wear it, but by the end of the trip, it was very comfortable. I also really liked the zipper loops that make it harder for people to open your bag, really gave me peace of mind when traveling through crowded locations. I think my experience would have further improved if I had gotten true compression organization bags.
I will also note that I did see only two other people with Cotopaxi Allpas Del Dias (the colorful ones) which while cute I think it does unfortunately signal tourist/backpacker in the places I visited at least. I live in the American Midwest where Cotopaxi is pretty common so if I saw someone walking down the street with one of their bags I wouldn't assume they are traveling necessarily. If it's important to you to remain more inconspicuous and have a Cotopaxi, probably get a black or brown one.
For the data plan, I used the 7 day plan from Holafly, unlimited data. It's one of the few unlimited data plans, and I knew I was going to use a lot of data so that's why I chose this. At the end of the trip, I had used about 5gb. The only caveat was that you only get 4g data, but honestly the speed was totally fine. Other data plans I saw were about the same price but you only got 2-3gb of data at 5g speeds. Also, I was traveling with someone who lived in the UK who used Vodafone, and quite often I had signal when they did not, so I think Holafly coverage is pretty good. The only thing is that for some reason coverage on the Heathrow tarmac was really bad, so it was pretty worrying when I landed and I tried to activate it and not going through... but that was literally the only time the signal was bad.
Randomly, I had to call the hotel, which you can't do on the Holafly plans (data only). However, I have a Google Voice number and had filled it with credit years ago, so I was able to call through data. The rate was $0.01/minute and I had like $9.00. If you think you might need to call non-emergency numbers, you could look into making a Google Voice number and adding some small credit. There's probably other ways too but I just already had the credit.
I thought I might have needed to do laundry at some point, so I checked if my hotels had one-day laundry. In the last hotel I stayed in, it said it did not, but they actually did--so if stuff like that is important to you, you might consider asking. For the first hotel, I decided to go with a nice 5-star hotel, which actually provided me with water bottles, a tube travel detergent, and a full-size lint roller... overall I thought it was a good choice because then I got a bunch of stuff that I didn't need to pay for and set me up for the next days of traveling.

Climate and soil scientists are warning that Europe’s soil won’t be able to absorb as much water now, after a season of terrible drought. The feedback loops spell disaster for the continent’s ability to weather the coming drought. France has given up aiming for just a 1.5 °C temperature increase, and are preparing for 4 °C rise by 2100. Scientists claim we are heading for total disaster, but the rest of the world apparently has bigger problems.
The world is allegedly on track for 2.7 °C of warming, and some experts predict that about one billion humans may be forced to migrate as a result of global warming, sea level rise, etc. Iraq is one such location, and countless migrants have already fled. On Twitter, climate scientists report seeing more hostility and climate denial.
Category 5 Typhoon Mawar blasted Guam, and took out electricity, but no humans were killed on the island. In Somalia, over one million people were displaced by drought within the last 4 months.
A ship’s draft/draught) is the distance between its waterline and the bottom of its keel/hull. This determines a ship’s displacement; the heavier a ship’s cargo, the greater its draft will be. The Panama Canal is reducing the allowed vessel draft because they didn’t receive enough rain in the last few months and cannot fully fill the Canal’s locks. As a result, more ships will be forced to make the long journey around Cape Horn—or load up with less cargo to transit the Canal. The supply chain feedback loops are compounding.
Chad saw its highest May temperature last week—47 °C (117 °F), and part of Samoa tied a new May temperature too—34.8 °C (101 °F) . New record temperatures in Southeast Asia again. The ocean around the Cayman Islands has hit 30 °C earlier than any previous year. The average sea surface temperature has been breaking daily records for every day for over two months.
Experts are warning that a heat wave would devastate Phoenix, Arizona, if it knocked out the power grid. Up to 800,000 people (half the population) would allegedly require emergency medical attention for heat stroke, etc. The study concluded that about 12,800 people would die as a result.
Although most of the world is warming, the upper atmosphere is cooling down, forcing scientists and generals to consider its potential impact on satellites and on our sensitive weather patterns. Temperatures beyond roughly 50km out in the atmosphere have been cooled by CO2 levels. Concrete implications from the study are unclear.
About 5,000 Congolese are still missing weeks after catastrophic flooding. Wildfire risk is increasing in Sweden. Heat wave alerts in Sri Lanka.
A study has claimed—again—that species are going extinct even faster than expected. About half of surveyed species have seen population declines recently (especially in the tropics), while 49% are holding relatively steady.
One species at risk of dieoff is the black sea urchin off the coast of Israel—and their dieoff hold grim implications for the health of coral in the Red Sea.
Tick season has begun, and researchers are worried that they can transfer prions from white-tailed deer to humans. Chronic wasting disease has not yet afflicted humans, though it exists in growing quantities among Canadian cervids.

The danger from fungi is growing as a result of climate change, and the rise of Candida Auris—and a resistant, contagious skin fungus coming out of India—in the U.S. is alarming epidemiologists. The combination of compromised immune systems (from COVID, increased diabetes), climate change, distrust of health entities, health insurance problems, and healthcare worker collapse are creating a terrible convergence of circumstances.
Over 5,000 new species have been discovered in the ocean between Hawai’i and Mexico—and in two months, applications will be accepted to begin deep-sea mining extraction operations in the region. Meanwhile, Shell shareholders rejected attempts to accept new emissions targets, 80% to 20%.
German police are looking into classifying “Last Generation” climate activists as part of a criminal group, amid raids targeting the traffic-stopping activists.
Greenpeace claims that recycled plastic can be more toxic than first-use plastic—but don’t worry, only 9% of plastic is recycled worldwide. A study from Hazardous Materials Advances concluded that recycling plastics produces large amounts of microplastics which later contaminate our land, water, and even air.
The U.S. Supreme Court limited the scope of the Clean Water Act, to exclude certain types of wetlands. This opens up some wetlands to nearby development and pollution.
Some Kansas wheat farmers suffered so much drought and cold snaps that they are abandoning their crops. Across the country, one third of winter-wheat acres are being abandoned, the highest percent in over 100 years. Utah’s Great Salt Lake is drying up, and strong winds are blowing dust, sometimes containing heavy metals.
Locusts in Afghanistan are threatening the coming wheat harvests in an already famine-stricken land. Argentina will face a similar problem if they don’t get rain within a few weeks.

Some experts are concerned that China may overtake the U.S. with AI development. Others are concerned about the implications of an AI future dominated by the United States. Experts are calling for regulation of AI before it destroys humans.
Cambodia’s ruling party is keeping the opposition party off the ballots in this July’s elections.
The ceasefire in Khartoum is largely holding, but sporadic violence by fighters threatens the fragile “peace” in the city. Once a War “begins,” what role do the civilians have in re-instituting peace—or keeping the conflict going?
The head of the Wagner Group is warning of revolution in Russia, a portent that may also be a threat. Russia’s former President and PM claimed that this War could last for decades. Yet certain unspecified NATO member states will give F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, and train about 20 Ukrainian pilots, in an effort to force an earlier conclusion. Yet their impact may not be decisive on the battlefield.
Seven U.S. states agreed on a three-year water-sharing compromise over the Colorado River’s water; whether the pact will hold when the Dust Bowl 2.0 begins is up in the air. Meanwhile, troops from Afghanistan and Iran exchanged machine gun fire and some mortars, over water rights in the Helmand River.

American politicians posture over raising the debt ceiling, a massive political/economic struggle that usually ends with a last-minute compromise or a short government shutdown. The U.S. is set to default on its debt on June 1st, which would damage trust and cause market bedlam. What’s it gonna be this time?
↠ Uruguay’s capital, Montevideo, is rapidly running out of water. The city’s main reservoir only had 10 days left of water—5 days ago. So the city’s supply is set to be exhausted by next Friday. How will the government react—and what will the people do? This might be a signal of what lies ahead for the rest of us.

First let me preface, I've never in my life lived in a conservative area. I HATE it. I tried joining a mom's club online but these women are something else. I'm watching them fight over how "there are constant kidnappings and they're not reported on because parents get paid off". How this is the hotbed for human trafficking and if you leave your house you will be taken. All the police are in on it by the way, we're never safe. There's one liberal mom just absolutely tearing them apart with "facts" and they can't handle it and have a rebuttal for everything.
Is this really the most dangerous community in America or are these women as crazy as I think they are? Maybe I'm off base. They consider a man, especially if he's a minority, in a car looking at them walk into the store, as an attempted kidnapping and god help that man if he gets OUT of his car and comes in the store. They are positive these minorities in trucks are coming for them.
Is this a legit concern? Just moved here and have kids and I do allow them to go places with friends and to go to Magic Mountain and the mall without adults.

Aguacate bellows down the runway, dressed as the Chichén Itzá monument itself. Nine layers of dress, separated by ruffle layers, and a bodice meant to represent the top of the temple, Aguacate has gone all out. Even her hair and makeup are Mayan-themed, bold and complimentary to her outfit.
Who’s she sacrificing?
Wearing many layers of sheer ivory fabric with subtle gold lace, Yasmin gently spins on the stage, her very high-waisted skirt billowing into an elegant rounded shape reminiscent of the Taj Mahal. Her feet and hands are dyed red, matching her simple red glasses, and she wears a gossamer ivory veil and red-and-gold floral brocade tunic to finish the traditional peshwaz look.
“Taj My Mahal.” Rachelle smirks.
Zazu Nova arrives in a structured and dramatic gown in a flowing chiffon iridescent pink or lavender, adding to the overall sense of magic and wonder, with intricate embroidery that evokes a sense of otherworldly magic.
Zazu Nova: “Wonder. Magic!”
Crayola Boxx enters the stage in a large wide brimmed hat constructed to look like a UFO with a little grey alien inside, and a gown coated in glitter that looks like desert sand with the bust forming the great pyramids of Giza.
“Aliens?” Nancy looks confused.
King Omari Star struts out as an Egyptian Pharaoh, wearing an intricate look that references The Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. He has the Pharaoh's beard, staff and two piece look, his skin glittering with hints of gold as he bares a fake chest.
“Walking like an Egyptian.” Floss winks.
Jaslene Bangus enters the stage in a stunning ball gown that references Mount Everest, in a shining white that looks as if the gown itself is a snow capped mountain. Her hair is a shining white, her face painted and her lips blue.
“Climbing this mountain is a treat.” Rachelle quips.
Haja Hubiani has transformed herself into the ancient Colossus of Rhodes, her skin painted as she walks a robe around her body, holding a staff in the air. Her skin has a bronze hue, and she walks, continuing the pose with a firm gaze.
“Bronze babe.” Floss grins.
Granny Gorgeous has a swimsuit look, giving more body then the usual fare in a look that references the great barrier reef. She’s got coral coming out of her body, and hints of blues, reds and pinks through her skin, like ink blotches.
“Ew.” Nancy says. “I mean… lovely.”
Toyotomi Hideyoshi spins out dressed as none other than the marvelous wonder that is the rings of Saturn! In a futuristic couture look, Hideyoshi spins around, the outfit twirling and spinning around him and his all black bodysuit.
The Wonder of Space.
Fiore Stravaganza has become a couture version of the leaning tower of Pisa, looking like a literal piece of art with her skin painted a marble gray. The tight gown is fitted to the side, like the real object- leaning as Fiore struts, not a simple walk, because she’s art, darling.
“Love!” Rachelle says.

Haja, still visibly frustrated, sighs and takes a sip of her drink. "Surviving is not enough, Zazu. I want to thrive. I want to be seen, to be recognized for my talents. Being safe week after week feels like I'm being overlooked."
Haja Hubiani: “Like, I thought I had it all. Literally. And I’m safe. UGH!” Haja exhales.
Jaslene rolls her eyes. "Oh, Haja, cry me a river. We have off weeks. I’m fabulous, I was with my girls and I’ll slay next week.”
Aguacate raises her glass and grins. "Well, mis amigas, maybe you just need to embrace the fact that I am the star and destined to win this competition. You can bask in my glory as I conquer every challenge thrown my way."
Jaslene Bangus: “Where did this come from? Didn’t she lose?”
“I am frustrated, genuinely, and it’s okay to feel that way- I KNOW I did well.” Haja says.
“Well, not good enough, clearly!” Aguacate laughs.
Haja blinks, twice.
"Haja, maybe if you actually did well instead of just thinking you did, you wouldn't be in this position. Just saying." Jaslene shrugs, sipping her drink.
"Excuse me? I've given my all in every challenge. I've showcased my talent, my creativity, and my cultural heritage. Yet, week after week, I'm just safe. It's disheartening." Haja utters.
Jaslene rolls her eyes again.
Jaslene Bangus: “The complaining is sooooo annoying.”
"Oh, please. You think you're the only one who feels unrecognized? I've been serving looks, comedy, and charisma since day one. I've been the highlight of this competition, and yet, here I am, just safe." Aguacate looks down. “Shocking.”
"Ladies, let's not forget that we're all here because we're talented. We're all incredible queens in our own right, and being safe means we still have the opportunity to showcase ourselves and prove our worth." Zazu grins.
Haja takes a deep breath, trying to regain her composure. "I understand that, Zazu. We all want to be at the top, but I should feel- validly frustrated.”
Jaslene shrugs. "Well, Haja, if you want to be at the top, you're going to have to step up your game. I'm not going to hold back just because you feel frustrated. I'm here to win, and I won't let anything or anyone stand in my way."
Haja looks annoyed, as if unaware of what to respond.
Zazu smiles. "Let's remember why we started this journey in the first place. We all have dreams and aspirations, and being on this show is a stepping stone towards realizing them. We may not be at the top now, but who knows what the future holds?"
“Meh.” Jaslene responds.
Jaslene Bangus: “This isn’t Chronologica’s happy family race, we don’t need all this- positive vibes...”
“Yeah…” Haja nods. “What you said.”
“Zazu… I have a question.” Aguacate asks.
“Mhm?” Zazu says.
“How the fuck does your runway reference world wonders?” Aguacate asks, confused.

“You embraced it, and I love it. But I want you to loosen up even more! Have fun with it! Embrace this journey.” Rachelle says.

“Hiya.” Hideyoshi grins.
“I do not understand your photoshoot.” Nancy says. “It was too much.”
Hideyoshi’s face drops.
“For me, it felt like you were on crack.” Nancy looks looks at Hideyoshi. “Are you on drugs?”
“I’m just- me!” Hideyoshi says.
“But you just were not doing IT.” Nancy shrugs. “I am not a fan.”
It was just- too much, and it came off unprepared.
Hideyoshi nods.

“Hello!” Yasmin waves.
“What a fun shoot.” Rachelle smiles.
“I had such a fun time.” Yasmin says. “And… a scary one.”
“What did this challenge mean to you?” Rachelle asks.
"This challenge... it meant the world to me." Yasmin says, her voice trembling slightly. "Being a gay drag queen in Guyana, it hasn't been easy. In a society where LGBTQ+ individuals face immense stigma and discrimination, expressing my true self has always felt like walking on a tightrope.” Her eyes begin to tear up. “But being here, on this stage, in front of the cameras and the judges, it felt like I could finally break free from those chains. It was a chance to showcase not just my love for drag, but also to represent my community back home. To show them that we exist, that we matter, and that our artistry is something to be celebrated."
Rachelle tears up.
“I feared the backlash, the judgment, and the potential consequences." Yasmin nods. “But I did it.”
"Yasmin." Rachelle says, her voice filled with warmth, "You are an incredible force of creativity, strength, and authenticity. Your journey is a testament to your resilience and your unwavering commitment to being true to yourself, despite the challenges you face."
"Thank you, Rachelle." Yasmin smiles.
Rachelle smiles, her eyes shining with pride.

“I really enjoy you, Granny. Like, I was shot once- and all I could deal with is joy in my life to make me feel better. And you do that.” Floss says.

Granny's eyes welled up with tears as she holds Yasmin's hand. "Oh, my dear, you don't know how much your words mean to me. It’s hard to understand who I am as a drag queen at this stage of my life, because I am still learning. But seeing your authenticity and the way you fearlessly express yourself gives me hope as someone who was so scared to do the same for so many years. Maybe it's never too late to discover a new side of myself and what my drag might mean just like you and Omari have."
Fiore looks around awkwardly, blinking.
Fiore Stravaganza: “Fuck Fiore’s drag, right?”
Omari raises his voice. "Granny, I think you underestimate yourself. You may be our 'baby' drag queen, but you bring a wealth of experience and wisdom to the competition. Your unique perspective is valuable, and I believe that your brand is already shining through."
Granny wipes away her tears. "Thank you, Omari. Your words mean a lot. I'll keep searching for my brand and trust that it will reveal itself in due time."
Fiore walks over to sit alone, at the other corner of the room.
“...Is she okay?” Granny asks.
“I’m fine.” Fiore says coldly.
Fiore Stravaganza: “Good for Yasmin. But… Despite the positive feedback, I can't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. I put so much effort into my look and photoshoot… but all the girls only celebrate Yasmin.” Fiore shrugs. “And Granny also for whatever reason. Probably for not being dead yet.”
Hideyoshi sighs.
“Are YOU okay?” Omari looks at Hideyoshi.
“Clearly, my ADHD is acting up, and it's affecting my ability to plan and execute things properly." Hideyoshi admits, his voice clearly upset. "I wanted to show the judges my true essence, but it came off as chaotic instead."
Granny places a comforting hand on Hideyoshi's shoulder. "I understand. It can be challenging when our minds work differently than others'. But I want you to know that your uniqueness is what makes you special. Your kookiness is part of your charm, and it's what sets you apart from everyone else."
Hideyoshi nods. “Let’s prepare for this lip sync.”
Suddenly, the safe racers walk in.
Fiore walks right over, as Jaslene smiles. “My A.E. sister.”
Fiore awkwardly nods. “That’s me!”
“What’s the tea?” Aguacate winks.
Fiore lets out a small chuckle, sitting uncomfortably on the couch because of their garment. "Oh, you know me and how I do it, served them haute couture, one of a kind spectacular, the usual. I enjoy my time as the only pretty girl in the spotlight, thank you Jaslene..”
“Shady bitch!” Jaslene cackles, playfully hitting Fiore with a throw pillow. "Oh, honey, we know you love the spotlight. But don't worry, we'll catch up soon enough. SOME of us at least."
Haja rolls her eyes. "Can we please stop with the passive-aggressive comments? We're all here to support and uplift each other, right?"
Zazu Nova smiles. “Absolutely. We're all in this together, and it's important to remember that our journey is unique to each of us. We can learn so much from one another if we choose to support and encourage one another."
Jaslene sips her drink.
Crayola raises her hand. "If I may, can I just say that I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable with the judges wanting me to 'adult' my drag up? I mean, I understand they want growth and versatility, but I don't want to lose the essence of who I am as a drag queen.”
“It is more so, adapting to the challenge.” Omari adds. “I received feedback, I’m going to do the same.”
Crayola frowns.
Meanwhile, Granny and Hideyoshi chat.
“I think… we are the bottom two.” Granny looks at Hideyoshi.
"It seems that way, Granny. But you know what? We're not going to let that discourage us. We'll give it our all in the lip sync and show the judges why we deserve to stay in this competition." Hideyoshi grins.
"That's the spirit, my dear. We'll bring our energy, our passion, and our love for drag to that stage. No matter what the outcome, we'll leave it all on the floor and make it a lip sync to remember."

Jaslene Bangus enters the stage in a stunning ball gown that references Mount Everest, in a shining white that looks as if the gown itself is a snow capped mountain. Her hair is a shining white, her face painted and her lips blue.
“Climbing this mountain is a treat.” Rachelle quips.
Haja Hubiani has transformed herself into the ancient Colossus of Rhodes, her skin painted as she walks a robe around her body, holding a staff in the air. Her skin has a bronze hue, and she walks, continuing the pose with a firm gaze.
“Bronze babe.” Floss grins.
Granny Gorgeous has a swimsuit look, giving more body then the usual fare in a look that references the great barrier reef. She’s got coral coming out of her body, and hints of blues, reds and pinks through her skin, like ink blotches.
“Ew.” Nancy says. “I mean… lovely.”
Toyotomi Hideyoshi spins out dressed as none other than the marvelous wonder that is the rings of Saturn! In a futuristic couture look, Hideyoshi spins around, the outfit twirling and spinning around him and his all black bodysuit.
The Wonder of Space.
Fiore Stravaganza has become a couture version of the leaning tower of Pisa, looking like a literal piece of art with her skin painted a marble gray. The tight gown is fitted to the side, like the real object- leaning as Fiore struts, not a simple walk, because she’s art, darling.
“Love!” Rachelle says.

Aguacate: “So… I am SAFE. I didn’t realize Chronologica had SAFE Queens actually be the best performing this year. THIS is the twist of the season, mijas.”
Everyone grabs a drink.
The safe Queens all sit down.
“...So.” Zazu Nova smiles. “How are we feeling! We’ve survived another week, and traveled around the world.”
Haja, still visibly frustrated, sighs and takes a sip of her drink. "Surviving is not enough, Zazu. I want to thrive. I want to be seen, to be recognized for my talents. Being safe week after week feels like I'm being overlooked."
Haja Hubiani: “Like, I thought I had it all. Literally. And I’m safe. UGH!” Haja exhales.
Jaslene rolls her eyes. "Oh, Haja, cry me a river. We have off weeks. I’m fabulous, I was with my girls and I’ll slay next week.”
Aguacate raises her glass and grins. "Well, mis amigas, maybe you just need to embrace the fact that I am the star and destined to win this competition. You can bask in my glory as I conquer every challenge thrown my way."
Jaslene Bangus: “Where did this come from? Didn’t she lose?”
“I am frustrated, genuinely, and it’s okay to feel that way- I KNOW I did well.” Haja says.
“Well, not good enough, clearly!” Aguacate laughs.
Haja blinks, twice.
"Haja, maybe if you actually did well instead of just thinking you did, you wouldn't be in this position. Just saying." Jaslene shrugs, sipping her drink.
"Excuse me? I've given my all in every challenge. I've showcased my talent, my creativity, and my cultural heritage. Yet, week after week, I'm just safe. It's disheartening." Haja utters.
Jaslene rolls her eyes again.
Jaslene Bangus: “The complaining is sooooo annoying.”
"Oh, please. You think you're the only one who feels unrecognized? I've been serving looks, comedy, and charisma since day one. I've been the highlight of this competition, and yet, here I am, just safe." Aguacate looks down. “Shocking.”
"Ladies, let's not forget that we're all here because we're talented. We're all incredible queens in our own right, and being safe means we still have the opportunity to showcase ourselves and prove our worth." Zazu grins.
Haja takes a deep breath, trying to regain her composure. "I understand that, Zazu. We all want to be at the top, but I should feel- validly frustrated.”
Jaslene shrugs. "Well, Haja, if you want to be at the top, you're going to have to step up your game. I'm not going to hold back just because you feel frustrated. I'm here to win, and I won't let anything or anyone stand in my way."
Haja looks annoyed, as if unaware of what to respond.
Zazu smiles. "Let's remember why we started this journey in the first place. We all have dreams and aspirations, and being on this show is a stepping stone towards realizing them. We may not be at the top now, but who knows what the future holds?"
“Meh.” Jaslene responds.
Jaslene Bangus: “This isn’t Chronologica’s happy family race, we don’t need all this- positive vibes...”
“Yeah…” Haja nods. “What you said.”
“Zazu… I have a question.” Aguacate asks.
“Mhm?” Zazu says.
“How the fuck does your runway reference world wonders?” Aguacate asks, confused.

“Clearly you shine, on your own really well.” Nancy says. “I am one of the biggest models in the world- and I felt you were close to my level.”
Fiore looks touched.

For me, whilst this was you, this was also a safe choice- you went a bit too kid friendly, and whilst I see that is you… I want to see another side of you, a side that can get a little dirty, a little riskier.
“I do get that.” Crayola responds.
For me, the more I see, the more I want you to push yourself out of the box. That’s what I need.

“Hello.” Omari grins.
“How was it, this week for you?” Rochelle asks.
“It was lovely. I felt at home, I gave my heart and soul, and I embraced it.” Omari nods. “And I think I did a damn good photoshoot.”
“You did.” Rachelle grins.
Omari smiles.
“You embraced it, and I love it. But I want you to loosen up even more! Have fun with it! Embrace this journey.” Rachelle says.
“I… will.” Omari nods. “Thank you.”
Hideyoshi.
“Hiya.” Hideyoshi grins.
“I do not understand your photoshoot.” Nancy says. “It was too much.”
Hideyoshi’s face drops.
“For me, it felt like you were on crack.” Nancy looks looks at Hideyoshi. “Are you on drugs?”
“I’m just- me!” Hideyoshi says.
“But you just were not doing IT.” Nancy shrugs. “I am not a fan.”
It was just- too much, and it came off unprepared.
Hideyoshi nods.
Yasmin Raiz.
“Hello!” Yasmin waves.
“What a fun shoot.” Rachelle smiles.
“I had such a fun time.” Yasmin says. “And… a scary one.”
“What did this challenge mean to you?” Rachelle asks.
"This challenge... it meant the world to me." Yasmin says, her voice trembling slightly. "Being a gay drag queen in Guyana, it hasn't been easy. In a society where LGBTQ+ individuals face immense stigma and discrimination, expressing my true self has always felt like walking on a tightrope.” Her eyes begin to tear up. “But being here, on this stage, in front of the cameras and the judges, it felt like I could finally break free from those chains. It was a chance to showcase not just my love for drag, but also to represent my community back home. To show them that we exist, that we matter, and that our artistry is something to be celebrated."
Rachelle tears up.
“I feared the backlash, the judgment, and the potential consequences." Yasmin nods. “But I did it.”
"Yasmin." Rachelle says, her voice filled with warmth, "You are an incredible force of creativity, strength, and authenticity. Your journey is a testament to your resilience and your unwavering commitment to being true to yourself, despite the challenges you face."
"Thank you, Rachelle." Yasmin smiles.
Rachelle smiles, her eyes shining with pride.
Finally, Granny.
Granny smiles.
“I really enjoy you, Granny. Like, I was shot once- and all I could deal with is joy in my life to make me feel better. And you do that.” Floss says.
“Thank you.” Granny nods.
“But- I do want to say, this week lacked drag. You are a talent, but I need you to show us more drag PRESENCE. Find your brand. That is what I need.” Floss says.

Yasmin blushes, her eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Thank you, Granny. That means a lot coming from you. I saw the way you captivated the judges with your joy and positivity. You truly have a unique energy that brightens up the room."
Granny's eyes welled up with tears as she holds Yasmin's hand. "Oh, my dear, you don't know how much your words mean to me. It’s hard to understand who I am as a drag queen at this stage of my life, because I am still learning. But seeing your authenticity and the way you fearlessly express yourself gives me hope as someone who was so scared to do the same for so many years. Maybe it's never too late to discover a new side of myself and what my drag might mean just like you and Omari have."
Fiore looks around awkwardly, blinking.
Fiore Stravaganza: “Fuck Fiore’s drag, right?”
Omari raises his voice. "Granny, I think you underestimate yourself. You may be our 'baby' drag queen, but you bring a wealth of experience and wisdom to the competition. Your unique perspective is valuable, and I believe that your brand is already shining through."
Granny wipes away her tears. "Thank you, Omari. Your words mean a lot. I'll keep searching for my brand and trust that it will reveal itself in due time."
Fiore walks over to sit alone, at the other corner of the room.
“...Is she okay?” Granny asks.
“I’m fine.” Fiore says coldly.
Fiore Stravaganza: “Good for Yasmin. But… Despite the positive feedback, I can't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. I put so much effort into my look and photoshoot… but all the girls only celebrate Yasmin.” Fiore shrugs. “And Granny also for whatever reason. Probably for not being dead yet.”
Hideyoshi sighs.
“Are YOU okay?” Omari looks at Hideyoshi.
“Clearly, my ADHD is acting up, and it's affecting my ability to plan and execute things properly." Hideyoshi admits, his voice clearly upset. "I wanted to show the judges my true essence, but it came off as chaotic instead."
Granny places a comforting hand on Hideyoshi's shoulder. "I understand. It can be challenging when our minds work differently than others'. But I want you to know that your uniqueness is what makes you special. Your kookiness is part of your charm, and it's what sets you apart from everyone else."
Hideyoshi nods. “Let’s prepare for this lip sync.”
Suddenly, the safe racers walk in.
Fiore walks right over, as Jaslene smiles. “My A.E. sister.”
Fiore awkwardly nods. “That’s me!”
“What’s the tea?” Aguacate winks.
Fiore lets out a small chuckle, sitting uncomfortably on the couch because of their garment. "Oh, you know me and how I do it, served them haute couture, one of a kind spectacular, the usual. I enjoy my time as the only pretty girl in the spotlight, thank you Jaslene..”
“Shady bitch!” Jaslene cackles, playfully hitting Fiore with a throw pillow. "Oh, honey, we know you love the spotlight. But don't worry, we'll catch up soon enough. SOME of us at least."
Haja rolls her eyes. "Can we please stop with the passive-aggressive comments? We're all here to support and uplift each other, right?"
Zazu Nova smiles. “Absolutely. We're all in this together, and it's important to remember that our journey is unique to each of us. We can learn so much from one another if we choose to support and encourage one another."
Jaslene sips her drink.
Crayola raises her hand. "If I may, can I just say that I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable with the judges wanting me to 'adult' my drag up? I mean, I understand they want growth and versatility, but I don't want to lose the essence of who I am as a drag queen.”
“It is more so, adapting to the challenge.” Omari adds. “I received feedback, I’m going to do the same.”
Crayola frowns.
Meanwhile, Granny and Hideyoshi chat.
“I think… we are the bottom two.” Granny looks at Hideyoshi.
"It seems that way, Granny. But you know what? We're not going to let that discourage us. We'll give it our all in the lip sync and show the judges why we deserve to stay in this competition." Hideyoshi grins.
"That's the spirit, my dear. We'll bring our energy, our passion, and our love for drag to that stage. No matter what the outcome, we'll leave it all on the floor and make it a lip sync to remember."

All the mods covered can be downloaded from Nexus Mods, and managed using a Mod tool such as Vortex or Mod Organizer 2.
Although I am using the Steam version of Skyrim Special Edition with the Anniversary Edition DLC, installed on Windows 11, it is possible to run this game on Linux with all the mods if you use Steam Proton.
Mod List
The mods covered in this video, range from bug fixes, restored content, graphical upgrades, quality of life changes, new UI elements, new NPC behaviours and performance enhancements.
A Quality World Map

The Quality World Map mod provides a new set of highly detailed 3D or paper world map textures, complete with roads for the Skyrim mainland as well as the island of Solsteim.
There are quite a few options available to download, although I tend to use the Classic with All Roads option.
The result is that you now have a map that can be used for navigation, as paths and roads are now clearly defined, which is helpful for more obscure off the beaten path locations, especially in the mountains.
Achievement Mods Enabler

The Achievement Mods Enabler mod restores the ability for you obtain Steam achievements when you have mods installed.
Strangely, with the release of official mod support in Skyrim, Bethesda stopped you from obtaining achievements if you installed any type of mod, which does not make sense, since Skyrim is a single player game, yet they allow you spawn in items using the console without any consequence.
In either case, installing this mod will once again allow you to obtain achievements regardless of how many mods you have installed.
Alternative Start – Live Another Life

If you have played Skyrim several times, the game always starts the same, you get captured, you choose your starting race, a dragon attacks Helgen and you escape in the mayhem, the entire process takes about 20 minutes.
The Alternative Start mod allows you to completely bypass the vanilla beginning of the game and forge your own path.
You might choose to start as the newest member of a local guild, a shopkeeper, a hunter in the woods, a patron in a local bar, someone who has just been attacked and lost everything, a member of the Imperial Legion, the survivor of a shipwreck, or an Orc who has lived his entire life in a stronghold.
But regardless of the starting origin you choose, it does not lock you out of any quest lines, instead allowing you to choose your own role-playing adventure and comes highly recommended.
Convenient Horses

The horses in Skyrim are stupid.
They attack anything hostile on sight including dragons, and in most cases, especially with higher level enemies, end up getting killed, wasting 1000 gold.
The exception of course is Shadowmare, who is immortal, but regardless, still thinks it is a great idea to fight a fire breathing lizard in the middle of the countryside.
The Convenient Horses mod changes all that, as horses are now ignored by enemies and do not randomly attack things, and in addition, they now have skills that can be levelled up, which in most cases equates to extra stamina or health meaning that they can now sprint for longer distances.
The mod also allows horses can now carry things, be fitted with armour, recalled by a horse whistle or horn, and most importantly, your companions can now use horses as well, assuming of course that you cough up and give them 1000 gold.
I often found it silly that whilst I could ride a horse, my follower will run after me on foot, and in the vanilla game, aside from Shadowmare, I never bothered with horses, however with this mod installed, I now actually use them to travel Skyrim.
Cutting Room Floor

There is no doubt that Skyrim is a massive game, however the more you play it, you might start to think that some things are missing in certain parts of the world, and you are right.
The Cutting Room Floor mod adds quests that were not finished by Bethesda due to several reasons, additional items, new NPC interactions and extra dialogue, as well as other pieces of cut content back into the world.
A simple little mod, that does a lot.
Footprints

The world of Skyrim has a lot of snow, as well as ash, however one thing that is strange is that no-one ever leaves any footprints in it.
The Footprint mod fixes that by allowing creatures, NPCs and your character to leave footprints with particle effects as they move through snow and ash.
Honestly, I am surprised they did not add this into the game when Skyrim Special Edition was released, but a fantastic mod to install all the same.
Immersive Citizens – AI Overhaul

The NPCs in Skyrim, much like horses have questionable intelligence, especially when it comes to dangerous situations.
Therefore the Immersive Citizens mod aims to improve the AI of friendly NPCs to make them react like true humans when it comes to danger, in most cases this means that guards will now defend an area, which makes sense, whilst a shopkeeper or an NPC with a non-combat role will avoid conflict.
The mod also adds routines to the NPCs, which means that at certain times of day, they might visit a tavern, have more interaction with the player character, or explore more of the city, and in most cases, a NPC will not simply stick to one area, which is far more realistic.
A great mod that adds something that should have been in the game to start with.
Immersive Patrols

Skyrim makes use of what are known as random encounters, in which at certain points on the map, you will experience a scripted event, this could be a bandit ambush, a dragon attack, a unique NPC, a group NPCs travelling from one location to another, or even an old Orc challenging you to a fight to the death.
The Immersive Patrols mod adds Stormcloak, Thalmor, Imperial and Dawnguard patrols to Skyrim, as well as a few roaming Skaal, Reaver and Rieklings to Solstheim, and sometimes, these patrols can cross paths with each other, and if they are on opposing factions, start fighting.
The mod also adds full scale battles between Stormcloak and Imperial soldiers whilst the Skyrim civil war quest line is still active, which can mean that, depending on your allegiance, you may be attacked on site.
In my opinion, mods like this that add additional content or expanding the variety that a player can experience is always a good thing.
Immersive Sounds – Compendium

After playing Skyrim for so long, and then playing other action-based RPGs, the sound effects in Skyrim leave a lot to be desired.
Whilst the dragon shouts are cool to hear, other mundane noises such as the sound of armour shuffling whilst moving, the sound of weapons hitting armour pieces, spell effects, or even the groans of the Draugr sound a bit flat.
The Immersive Sounds mod completely overhauls the sound in game, spells sound louder and more damaging, weapons make appropriate noises when they clash, arrows whiz through the air, armour feels heavy, and comical noises such as when a sneak attack is performed can now be silenced.
As there is nothing more immersive breaking than lining up the perfect shot, only to hear a comical donk noise when the arrow hits.
The mod also adds audio cues when you when you pick up items such as gems, gold or potions, and chests now creak when they are opened.
This is mod that I always have installed, as I cannot play with vanilla sounds anymore.
JK’s Skyrim – All in One

Whilst Skyrim has several locations, towns, and cities to explore, some of the smaller settlements seem to be sparsely populated, in many cases, a village might contain just a couple of buildings, some crops and some NPCs.
The JK’s Skyrim mod fixes this by adding more content to the various settlements in the world, making them more memorable, for example, the Skyforge in Whiterun now looks a forge, complete with displayed armour pieces and a smelter.
Each town now has a theme, Riverwood for lumber, Rorikstead for farming, Falkreath has a graveyard, Dawnstar has a port, and Dragon Bridge is now a defensive outpost.
In fact, some locations now have new vendors, and the allegiance of the town will change depending on the progress of the Civil War quest line.
In short, this mod enhances the game, making locations more useful to the player character, and making the world more lived in.
No Spinning Death Animation

The enemies in Skyrim are very flexible, and sometime when you kill them, they do this weird twist animation as they slump on the floor which is both hilarious and disturbing at the same time, of course, this completely breaks immersion as no-one would do this in real life.
The No Spinning Death Animation mod removes the spinning around dance animation that NPCs do before dying and instead they will now just ragdoll when killed.
The mod also removes certain creature’s death pause animations which cause them to lose all momentum, remove any physical push based on your attacks, so that hitting them no longer launches them into the air.
A great mod to install, and one I find essential, especially for melee combat.
Relationship Dialogue Overhaul

One of the things you will notice as you play through the game is that followers will often repeat their dialogue, which can get annoying after a while, especially after hearing Lydia’s sarcastic responses to you when you ask her to carry something.
The Relationship Dialogue Overhaul mod adds over 5,000 lines of completely voiced dialogue for NPCs using their original voices, which now means that friends, followers, spouses, rivals, and others have much more to say.
The mod also fixes dialogue bugs and restores cut dialogue so you may hear your follower say something that you have never heard before, so as someone who likes using followers, it is nice to hear something different occasionally, whilst exploring Skyrim.
Run For Your Lives

Much like horses, NPCs in Skyrim will blindly run into combat whenever dragons and vampires attack, especially at the Whiterun front gate, which normally ends up with several dead merchants.
The Run for Your Lives mod makes it so that citizens in a village or city will now run indoors during these attacks, although Guards, members of The Companions, Vigilants of Stendarr, and the player's followers will still stand and fight.
The mod author mentions that this mod was created out of frustration of every person trying to be a hero and not surviving, which is exactly the reason I recommend you install this mod in your game.
Skyland AIO

When it comes to modding graphic mods in Skyrim, it quickly becomes a rabbit hole, as there are hundreds, if not thousands of graphic mods available for Skyrim, including texture and flora overhauls, landscapes and water replacers, snow mods, and it goes on.
Therefore, I will just be recommending one, Skyland AIO (All in One), which is a collection of all Skyland mods bundled together featuring high quality and resolution texture overhauls for architecture and landscapes.
Skyland is created using 4K 3D scans of real-world surfaces and offers the most realistic visual overhaul in Skyrim, covering cities, towns, and villages to forts, dungeons, and caves, as well as landscapes from the Rift to the Reach and beyond.
Out of all the graphic mods I have installed in Skyrim, this does appear to be one of the more consistent one, but just bear in mind that the mod itself does weight in at around 6GB.
Skyland LOD

The Skyland LOD (Level of Detail) mod provides a preset LOD or level of detail for when you have the Skyland AIO mod installed, which in other words means that you will be able to the see the Skyland modded textures at greater distances.
I recommend that you install both Skyland AIO and the accompanying LOD for the best experience.

The SkyUI mod describes itself as an elegant, PC-friendly interface mod with many advanced features, one of which is to add new HUD elements, and my favourite is visible duration for summons and flesh spells, as in the vanilla game, the only way you could check this was to open up the menu.
The mod also supports third party mod integration, which will allow you to configure a mod through the mod manager section in the game’s menu, instead of using an in game spell or power.
For someone who uses a mouse and keyboard for RPGs, this mod is a godsend, and I strongly recommend it.
SSE Display Tweaks

The SSE Display Tweaks mod provides an all-in-one solution for smooth FPS-unlocked gameplay, including physics fixes, borderless full screen performance boosts, refresh rate control, highly configurable frame rate limiting, various bugfixes and more.
In other words, you can now play Skyrim at a frame rate higher than the standard 60FPS, and most importantly, without the game engine bugging out, which typically happens if you manually disable V-Sync through the game’s config files.
As someone who has a 165Hz refresh rate monitor, Skyrim running at 120FPS is fantastic experience, so I strongly recommend installing this mod if you have similar hardware.
Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

One of the running jokes about Bethesda games is that they tend to be buggy at release, which over time get patched, however years later, there are still several bugs left in Skyrim.
Most are minor, usually item placements, perks not working correctly, weapons that do not have crafting recipes, or exploits to do with training skills.
The Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition mod is a comprehensive bug fixing mod with the goal to eventually fix every bug in Skyrim Special Edition that was not officially resolved by the developers to the limits of the Creation Kit and community-developed tools.
Without a doubt, this is one of the most important mods you should install when playing Skyrim on PC.
Wet and Cold

The Wet and Cold mod adds weather-dependent visual effects and AI enhancements to the player and NPCs.
More specifically, in colder climates, the player character, NPCs and some creatures will now have a visible breath animation when breathing, rainfall and snow will now appear on the armour and clothing, and depending on their race, NPCs will actively seek shelter when it is raining or snowing.
The mod also adds new weather-related clothing to the game’s levelled lists, typically scarfs, gloves, or hats, which are often equipped once the weather turns, or alternatively found on bandits located at snowy locations.
Much like the Footprints mod from earlier, this functionality should have been implemented into the original game.
