My bus is a 2012 Chevy duramax, someone cut the dpf about half year ago, in my apartment parking lot. I just got it fixed at exhaust pro for $800, I really don’t want it got cut again. So I want to install a security camera system on it, right after I get it back from my mechanic.
I removed seats and almost finished sanding it. I have not done the painting, was about to do it I already bought a paint sprayer from lowes
I was thinking something like Arlo(I used it in my apartment and I like the notification feature), it will be wireless running on battery and a base.
1: Installation. I asked Best buy, they says they install cameras, even if it’s not bought from them. I’m not very handy.
2: Battery. I was thinking buying an Ecoflow delta 2 max. Not sure how much wattage the camera draws
3: Internet. I was thinking two choices.
A: If it’s not using a lot of traffic, ATT 20G per month for $25, if 20G is enough for uploading videos, it only recording and uploading when camera saw a movement.
B: If it‘s using a lot of traffic, straight talk have a home internet plan, for $45 a month, unlimited data. I have to buy a $99 router box though
4: Heat. It’s summer and it‘s very hot inside the bus, and the heat might kill the battery. I already tinted the side windows. How to protect the battery? Or should I get some battery that can survive the heat?

We hired what I thought were reputable painters to paint the exterior of our home. While the contract spelled out the type of paint and prep work, there was no mention of how many coats and paint used (I realize I should have clarified this).
We have fiber cement siding (Hardie board) which is 16 years old and in good shape. It's a darker color (navy) and we are painting it a lighter color (off white).
The painters first step was power washing the entire home. Then, they primed the siding (1 coat, using a sprayer). Then, they painted the siding (1 coat, also using a sprayer). I was surprised they only did 1 coat of the paint, and when I inquired about it, was told 1 coat is fine for my house. Everything I Google says 2 coats are really needed, but I'm also seeing some things about spraying paint making it okay to do only 1 coat. The paint was Benjamin Moore Regal Select Exterior. Should I insist on the second coat (presumably I'd have to pay them more to do it)?

Deep into home renos, but never sprayed cabinets. Own a 2-stage turbine sprayer, but looking to get a 5-stage or Airless to spray Renner-1245. Because this isn't a business (where speed/productivity are essential), could I get away with spraying with a 5-stage instead of Airless?

I've used totalboat halcyon clear gloss varnish on several projects and I love the stuff. easy to apply, low VOC, recoat after an hour! I'll never use poly again. But I've always brushed it on (usually with a foam brush). for my next project I'd like to spray with an airless sprayer (graco 390). Has anyone done this? any tips (no pun intended). I should probably water it down a bit, but by how much would you think?

"If I wasn't in that stupid baby body, ooooh the things I would've done to all of you people. First, I would offer myself some traditional clothes made out of your intestines. And then, I would gather your bones and hearts and make a bowling game out of all that, and then, I would paint my magnum opus with blood and bile extracted from you all, and then..."
Having heard enough from such a sick mind, I moved forward, getting closer to the drums and walking pass more and more souls by the second. The sky slowly adopted a growing and alarming reddish hue as many souls, with absolute bliss, chanted and danced around the drummers. I braced myself, seeing Sierra's bar entrance, while being surrounded by hundreds of enemies. I was among them.
"Terryyyy!" I heard on my left and froze when I saw Mrs Robinson or Nadia, smiling at me with a bloody bag over her shoulder. "I like your new eyes!" She said.
She then stepped forward and let out a rage scream to scare me away and succeeded. I ran off hearing her high pitched crazed laugh behind me as she did not even give pursuit. I had difficulties pushing the souls out of the way but managed to disappear from her view thanks to a crowd. I then emerged from the crowd, walking backwards and looking in its direction to see if Nadia could be after me, when I bumped into a soul.
Xander, the village blacksmith, stood between me and the bar entrance when I turned around. I looked up to his face, contemplating my next move to avoid things to go south.
"Do you know where's the temple?" He asked, but I stayed silent and just shook my head. "I heard there's a—" He stopped suddenly and leaned forward to get a closer look at my face. "Who are you?" He asked, and once again my mouth remained shut. "We can all see each other when we examine our eyes, but yours are empty. Who are you? What are you? Is it a disguise? Are you—" He added, and we both stayed silent.
We just looked at each other as I prepared for him to alert his fellow souls all around us and plunge me in a situation I would not be able to escape from.
"You should check the florist house all the way to the south." I said to break the silence, hoping that my lie would just make him go away.
"The florist house huh?" He spoke after getting off my face, fully standing again.
"Yeah." I replied, clumsily faking confidence while trembling. He squinted his eyes, examining me further.
"Do you know where I can find Byron?" I asked.
"You should check the wine cellar." He simply replied before I watched him walk away.
A soul then burst out of the bar window and landed unconscious on the ground. Screams arose from inside as I prepared to meet what awaited for me there. I consciously stepped into the bar for the first time in my life and witnessed something out of a good old western movie. Countless souls, some of them having glow sticks around wrists and necks, were involved in an intense and bloody fist fight, breaking anyone and anything. I spotted the bar backroom door and sprinted towards it, knowing that one punch from these beings could behead me. Bottles, punches and chairs flew above my head while I progressed until I reached the door and disappeared from the chaotic scene.
"Byron?" I called, unanswered.
I took my breath a little then walked as slowly as I could in complete darkness. I checked the surroundings and stepped into an office where I discovered many more glow sticks, clean and private restrooms before I found the wine cellar. I used the glow sticks, putting so many of them around my arms that I seemed to have laser upper limbs. It was darker there, yet impressive. Many bottles of all kinds of beverages, along with specific annotations, decorated several shelves of the spacious room. It looked like a library of drinks.
"Byron?" I called again to no avail, and fear arose as I contemplated the idea that I might have walked into a trap.
Soon, I discovered a trail of blood that led to and disappeared under the door of a small room, reinforcing my dread. I tried to open it but it was locked and I was not having it. For the first time in my life, I started kicking a door and just like Carla, I never stopped once until it burst open. There was no Byron, a lot more blood, but most importantly, I had found the East Altar, at 14:39 pm.
"Byron." I said quietly.
"Tooo laaate." Someone whispered behind my neck before I was violently yanked away from the altar.
Landing on Edlynn's filled backpack helped reducing damages. I stood up and watched Nadia pull out Byron's or should I say Philip's head from her bloody bag. She looked at it, then looked at me and kicked it in my direction. I crouched to dodge it and stood back up.
"Trust me honey, you don't want to know what happened to the rest." She said, then sauntered towards me.
I ran for my life, losing myself between shelves with the hope of evading her. I had glow sticks that I needed to see in the darkness and that also gave away my exact location.
"No hiding Outlander! I know all the little secrets of this place." She said. "You kicked the hybrid ass? Impressive! I knew you were soooo much fun! But your tricks won't work on me baby. I've waited so long for us to be all alone. I've so much fun plans for you." She spoke.
Trapped and lost, Nadia caught up with me as I searched the backpack to serve her salt. She kept advancing, I tore a hole in the salt bag, she started running, I threw it at her and the salt covered her face. Nadia screamed in pain as smoke emanated from her face, but she soon started laughing. I stood appalled, and watched her remove her hands from her face to see her destroyed skin regenerate.
"Redeye made my skin much tougher than the others honey. Told you, your tricks won't work." She said, smiling.
At that moment, the ground trembled and I feared that the wine cellar would crumble and crush us to death. She on the other end was laughing hysterically like the crazy soul she was.
"He has done it! It worked! The ritual has started!" She rejoiced, and the little earthquake stopped a few seconds after. "Redeye was right, there's life in blood. I understand why he wants to use yours."
"For his sick ritual? That's why he wants me alive?" I quietly said.
"This may have changed Outlander. Razor brought some brushes from your house to him. Free DNA samples from you to further his plans. As you can see, it's working. He might still wants to use your blood but— I don't care." Nadia spoke.

"Go ahead do it! I don't get paid enough to look after that silly thing. Anyway, you won't get out of here alive." She said.
She indeed did not care. At 15:00 pm, I released one of my sticks and touched the altar. The same things that happened with the other ones occurred again, from the strong light to the altar's crumbling. One more down, I thought.
"You done?" I then heard right behind me. She then seized me by the neck when I turned around, lifted me and pinned me on the small room wall. I tried hitting her with the other stick but she took it from me and threw it away, ignoring the pain it caused her. That time she meant business.
"No more games." She said, squeezing my neck tighter. I began to choke but still managed to retrieve a salt bag with a desperate and ultimate plan in mind.
"Na—dia I— I— love— you." I managed to say, clenching the salt bag so tight that some of my fingers tore it.
"Huh?" She responded, so weirded out by the statement before she burst out laughing.
At that moment, I shoved the salt bag down her throat and she immediately released me. I will never forget the gurgling sounds she made as the salt instantly burnt her throat and inside. She was walking away aimlessly, and I slowly followed behind her, after picking up my weapons and putting them in the backpack.
"He made your skin tougher right? You forgot you were tough on the outside, but weak on the inside." I spoke.
The crazy soul then picked a random bottle, broke its top and threw the content at me. Surprised, I could not dodge in time and received red wine on my face and torso. She exited the wine cellar, and I remember heartlessly thinking that she was taking too long to just die. I picked a bottle myself with the intent to break it on her head and followed her. She stepped out of the backroom and so did I, still on her trail. The fight had stopped and the bar was empty. She reached the outside and crashed on the ground.
Partying and rejoicing had stopped as all the souls contemplated the then completely red sky. The souls standing closer to the bar entrance looked at me. I ignored them and looked back at Mrs Robinson, dying with a crazed smile on her face. She winked at me before her eyes lost the white shining and she expired.
"Hey look!" One of the souls shouted, prompting all the others to look at him then at me.
I did not understand what transpired before I took a look at my face using the bottle in my hand. I stood in front of hundreds of souls, ready to offer me to an occultist for sacrifice and my eyes were no longer shining.

At that moment, I shoved the salt bag down her throat and she immediately released me. I will never forget the gurgling sounds she made as the salt instantly burnt her throat and inside. She was walking away aimlessly, and I slowly followed behind her, after picking up my weapons and putting them in the backpack.
"He made your skin tougher right? You forgot you were tough on the outside, but weak on the inside." I spoke.
The crazy soul then picked a random bottle, broke its top and threw the content at me. Surprised, I could not dodge in time and received red wine on my face and torso. She exited the wine cellar, and I remember heartlessly thinking that she was taking too long to just die. I picked a bottle myself with the intent to break it on her head and followed her. She stepped out of the backroom and so did I, still on her trail. The fight had stopped and the bar was empty. She reached the outside and crashed on the ground.
Partying and rejoicing had stopped as all the souls contemplated the then completely red sky. The souls standing closer to the bar entrance looked at me. I ignored them and looked back at Mrs Robinson, dying with a crazed smile on her face. She winked at me before her eyes lost the white shining and she expired.
"Hey look!" One of the souls shouted, prompting all the others to look at him then at me.
I did not understand what transpired before I took a look at my face using the bottle in my hand. I stood in front of hundreds of souls, ready to offer me to an occultist for sacrifice and my eyes were no longer shining.

I am wanting to buy a paint sprayer but the only ones that are 8nbmy price range for the amount I would use it are the hvlp for the airless. I have never used one. I have used a true airless and one on an air compressor. Do you have to think down normal interior paint to use an hvlp?

Reached out to a wallpapepainter for a quote to hang wallpaper and paint our kitchen island cabinets. Quoted us $400 to paint the island. Our neighbors got all their kitchen cabinets (not just island) painted with a professional/commercial sprayer and it cost $3500. Is it okay to paint the cabinets w/ just brush and roller? Will the finish be smooth and look like it came straight from the manufacturer? I don’t want any texture like you get when you paint walls with a roller. Thanks!

Getting ready to reside my house. My original plan was to go with Hardie board and batten, but, after further consideration of how much of a PITA I want this to be, I’m having second thoughts. I’m familiar and comfortable with the pros and cons of the materials themselves as it pertains to Hardie and SmartSide. I think both would be solid options. The one part I’m having trouble squaring away is that SmartSide is just not as visually appealing to me as Hardie. The Hardie panels just look more smooth and refined, whereas the texture of the SmartSide seems a bit more rough. I’m planning to run a paint sprayer over a panel a few times this weekend and see if that helps. Am I overthinking it/being too picky?
Edit: Have not looked to lap siding yet, although I may eventually, currently focused on 4x8 sheets with trim boards.

Small Story Rant: Hi I rarely ever get callbacks after applying to jobs of anykind. Recently though through a friend i got a painting job for $22/H they never asked for a resume and i think i am the lowest paid worker they have, (i think their minimum is $23.5) but i was pretty deperate for a job so i took it. They already increased my pay by $1 (it was $21), the company also does pay under average, anyways its spring/summer and because of that I thnk I have alot of leverage in my market, as the hot season for painting is during the summer, I want to be paid above average a bit at $27/h and in the past have been up up to 30/h or nightshift for 40/h in my field.

During covid though i was fired twice but only during trainings and never added it to my resume (I was extremely depressed and it was a struggle getting out of bed and it was really hard to motivate myself to go do mundane tasks for 8 hourrs and bus for an hour or 2 for a few bucks)

I also need a resume template because my resume is white and red and i dont think its a good template but i would prefer one that would somehow highlight my more relvent experience and not go mumbo jumbo everywhere :/ I just want one so i can see if i can get a higher paying job and just switch but also recently tried starting a business (that is currently burning to the ground and taking me with it) so i also want to work less hours but thats negotiable tbh working about 70-88/h (mostly 88) biweekly worked 100 one time though and usually work 10H/Day cuz i want to have friday sat sun off.

Though they first appeared in 1999, George Lucas came up with the idea for Midichlorians way back in the 1970s, when he first started writing the magnum opus that later became Star Wars. They hardly need an introduction, but this is my ramble on why I think the Midichlorians aren't as crap as everyone says.

Yeah, Science (Bitch)

While this doesn’t always translate in the films themselves, the Prequel Trilogy is ostensibly depicting the Jedi Order in its prime. More prosperous and less politically corrupted eras have since been introduced, but this was the first depiction of the Jedi and the Republic in full swing, before the Dark Times, before the Empire. The Jedi Temple is essentially a massive religious academy/university, complete with its own Library of Alexandria, right in the centre of the most powerful galactic society. The Jedi themselves maintain their ancient traditions and faith in the Force all while seamlessly adapting to the times, defending peace and the principles of democracy in the Republic. In essence, they’re the ultimate fusion of spiritualist teachings with futuristic science and technology.
Okay, there’s no uncontroversial way of phrasing this, but the Force, unlike pretty much all deities worshipped by real world religions, is a definitively physical, observable thing in the Star Wars universe. It’s indisputable. Only forceless scoundrels on the far edges of the Galaxy deny its existence. While the Jedi and Sith both have unyielding faith in the Force, and nearly everyone else just kinda accepts that it exists, the main disagreement between them is how it should be used.
Like gravity, the Force isn’t — and possibly cannot be — completely understood, but it only makes sense that after millennia of the Order’s existence, the Jedi found ways of measuring and predicting Force sensitivity. They dedicate their lives to the Force, and being surrounded by advanced technology, they must have spent time studying it through a scientific lens. However, that lens doesn't completely invalidate the mystical/spiritual aspect of the Force that fans are naturally attached to. IMO, it enhances it. It shows that the Force, while basically magical in nature, can peacefully coexist with science and rationality, as all things in a civilised society should. That's really what Lucas wanted to say with Star Wars — everything in society is symbiotic and connected.

'Cause We Were Never Being Boring

Probably half the reason people hate Midichlorians so much is because of the name, which of course calls to mind mitochondria, combined with Qui-Gon's droll delivery when explaining how they work to Anakin. Really, it's still the same old mystical woo coated in some vaguely scientific-sounding paint. Liam Neeson was baffled by the lines he had to read.
Undeniably, the presentation needed some work, but the core concept is sound. You have these microscopic organisms communicating with the Force through larger organisms. Lucas could have taken an easier path and simply called them Whills or anything else, but that wouldn't have fit with his intentions.
Speaking of which, it's interesting to compare the Midichlorians with the Whills. Now, the Whills have never truly appeared* and references to them are entirely vague and infrequent, so their level of infamy can never match that of the Midichlorians. George Lucas has wavered back and forth on what the Whills exactly are, though there are several great threads documenting the explanations he has given over the years. I may be in the minority, but the microbiotic world of the Midichlorians and Whills that he describes sounds amazing. Fuck knows how that would ever translate to a movie, let alone a coherent narrative, but it's cool to think about.

Life's Not Fair

Something people hate about Midichlorians — not without good reason — is the fact that it enforces the connection between Force sensitivity and genes. Many fans and official writers prefer to believe that everyone has Force sensitivity and it only takes some training to unlock it. Of course, Yoda's tantalising explanation in ESB can be interpreted to that effect: all things in the Galaxy, including inanimate objects, are surrounded and connected by the mystical energy field. But then you have Luke's famous line to Leia in ROTJ, which outright confirms that strength in the Force can be inherited:
"The Force is strong in my family. My father has it. I have it. And... my sister has it."
The idea that some win the Force genetic lottery at birth doesn't sit entirely right with me either, but it does come with a large trade-off that makes it easier to buy. Those born with high Midichlorian counts can never live normal lives. If they get taken by the Jedi, they can say goodbye forever to their families, romantic relationships, normal careers, deathsticks, VR pornos, whatever else normal people in the Galaxy get up to. The ones that aren't good enough get sent off to do agricultural work on backwater planets. Being a lightsaber-swinging knight is awesome when you're playing as one in a Kinect game, but the path of a Jedi is not as easy or glamorous as the franchise makes out. A life of intense discipline and asceticism, free of all personal attachments. Failing to balance their feelings can lead to the Dark Side, which slowly turns you into a shrivelled scrote of a person.
To sum it all up, I think the Midichlorians can easily be redeemed with better presentation. Part of my curiosity for Lucas's unmade vision of the Sequel Trilogy (or at least, one of the many visions he's had over the years) is that it would have dealt with the Midichlorians in a more direct way than ever before. Hearing Qui-Gon and Palpatine drone on about them doesn't do the concept justice. We need to actually see them somehow, delve into their world. I can imagine a sort of anti-Star Wars movie where, instead of covering this huge galaxy of stars and planets, we explore a vast microcosmos inside a single human body. Seeing the Midichlorians as these tiny Lilliputian people going about their work may sound extremely stupid, but I can't help but wonder how it could all work as a story, rather than exposition. That may be the real key to all this.
*outside of self-satirical short stories in the From a Certain Point of View books which portray them as stereotypical Wookieepedia nerds living inside the Star Wars universe.
