I have always had a dream of being in the Navy since I was a kid. As I’ve gotten older and looked into it, it stemmed from seeing sailors and ships/jets on vacation. I’m worried I’m relating the Navy to vacation/the beach and potentially interested for the wrong reasons. I would always play the jet simulators and go to air shows which led me to get my degree in Aviation and become a flight instructor. Would be joining the Navy be the wrong thing to do if I associate it with good times?

Hi all, new to Final Cut from Premiere. Unfortunately, I’m seeing some horrible scrubbing performance on Final Cut, with my Mac even showing the beach ball sometimes when pressing play/pause in the timeline.
I tried transcoding to ProRes for better performance, and while I’m well aware ProRes produces larger file sizes, these are absolutely enormous — with a 0.3GB video being transcoded to 14GB.
Is ProRes really necessary for smooth editing? Am I missing an option with H264 as to why scrubbing performance is so poor? If ProRes is the only option, is there a way to make the files smaller? File sizes of 40x greater is quite hard to believe.

this is a topic that deeply concerns me. i see a lot of people not wanting to forgive or thinking forgiving is a free pass for mistreatment to continue. well, i think the spirit of the antichrist, that's already in the world and has been for quite some time, tricked us into thinking me forgiving my rapists pardons the rapist of their crime. i am -not- the One who sits on the Great White Throne of Judgement. me forgiving them set me free of the burden—they still must repent to the Judge.
me forgiving my ex for abandoning our family doesn't give him permission to come back into our lives, but it does cradle me in peace. i'm not bound by it my chains are broken. it lets me not worry about it. reminds me my cage is predominately made of my thoughts, and i can try again daily even multiple times a day. keeps me hopeful but doesn't let me down. keeps me present and loving. free.

I can't believe it took me some 10 BLs to notice the fact that more than half of them have beach scenes in it- Bad Buddy, ITSAY, ABAAB, Destiny Seeker, Bleuming, the Eighth Sense, ASTCO, MSP, the Eclipse & counting. What is it about beaches that have become perfect locations for BLs to use? The best i could come up with is that since the beach is where the sand, sun and sky meet, it's a unique meeting point brimming with freedom and possibilities, something that queer people often within their (glass or otherwise) closets dont get to experience always? And thus the beach is a symbol as well as catalyst for the characters to feel and express emotions they otherwise wouldn't have? There must be more? Or am I reading too much into it and it's just a good location choice?

Apologies if this has been asked already. I scrolled for a bit but figured I might as well just ask.
Our roof is being redecked AND replaced in a few days. What can my husband and I do for the roofers? What sort of snacks, beverages can we get for them? We have a cooler and plan to get ice both days to fill it with and place beverages in there. But would love to leave out snacks or something as well. My sisters both called and told me what happened but their versions don't add up. There are five parties involved in this conflict. My sister Luna (34F) and her son Lee (3M), my sister Heidi (32F) and her son Allen (6M), Heidi's friend' son Scott (4M).
Luna's version is that they're all by the swimming pool in her residence. Heidi's talking on the phone, allen and scott are playing together, while lee is alone. Allen would go to lee and make fun of him because of his speech trouble and insult him, then go back to scott and they laugh together at lee. She tried to bring heidi's attention to this but she was preoccupied with the phone and wouldn't intervene.
So luna says to lee let's go I'll take you to the beach instead and tells allen to follow her upstairs to her house. She gives him his clothes because she might be out late and he'll be without clothes and gives him an earful about how he shouldn't side with outsiders against his cousin and leaves.
When luna comes back from the beach, heidi is still there and accuses luna of abusing allen and being agressive towards him when he has done nothing wrong. She says that heidi was "hysterical" and that she told her she's sick and will never let her have contact with her child again unless she gets help.
Heidi's version was that she couldn't hang up because it was an important phone call and by the time she hang up, luna had just told allen to follow her to the house. But although she was on the phone, she saw what happened and allen didn't do anything.
She says that a few minutes later, he came back from the house crying and told her that luna kicked him out and she accused him of ganging up with outsiders against his cousin. He also said that he never made fun of lee and that he just didn't want to play with him but with scott instead. Heidi calls scott and he also says that they weren't laughing about lee at all but because they were playing ball.
All in all, there are two inconsistencies here. The first is that luna claims she never kicked allen out and the proof is that they stayed by her swimming pool. Instead, she removed herself and her son from the situation. Meanwhile, heidi claims that luna did kick him out.
The second is that heidi claims allen never made fun of lee and would never do that but luna just was mad allen chose to play with scott and felt offended her son was ignored. Luna claims the opposite and that she wouldn't have a problem with allen not playing with his cousin , but that they were bullying him.
What do you think? What's the truth? I just want to know the truth because someone is lying here and I really need to know who.

First of all allow me to briefly explain how our relationship went and why she is my ex, then I will go over the date plans.

Our love story is a tapestry of highs and lows, laughter and tears. We faced challenges, and I haveunfortunatly made mistakes, I let a web of lies get in between us believing protecting her from the truth would spare us from unnecessary strife. Little did I know that the consequences of my deception would prove far more destructive than any imagined conflict. But I never stopped believing in the power of our connection and the love i have for her is like nothing else, it's been months now since our break up and we stayed in contact through all that time and now she decided to give me a chance to rebuild our relationship and and take her out on a date, i can still sense her being in her shell not wanting to get hurt or deal with any bullshit I used to do back when we were together, but she is using this date I presume to see if i have changed and became a better person for her and that if I am good enough for her (And i have changed immensly for the best in the past months).

I'm planning a romantic and memorable date in Agadir, Morocco(We're both born and raised here). We'll start by riding a cable car that offers a breathtaking view of Agadir and its beautiful beaches. The cable car will take us to the Agadir Oufella ruins and Kasbah, where we can explore and soak in the historical charm.Afterward, we'll head to a gourmet restaurant with reserved seats that overlook the stunning sunset. We'll indulge in a delicious dinner while enjoying the captivating colors of the sky.Following dinner, we'll take a leisurely stroll along the Agadir beach, appreciating the soothing sounds of the waves. Our walk will lead us to the marina, where we'll visit her favorite ice cream shop. We'll savor our ice creams and continue our walk, creating cherished memories along the way, I hope.

I am from Slovenia and besides how safe my country is and all the nature we have, I am tired. Living in a country with a population of 2 million starts feeling like a cage after a while. I want to explore the other side of the world and experience living in another country.
This is obviously a long-term dream and it would take a loooong time before it (hopefully) happens.
Before I even consider applying for a VISA I will visit Australia. But since it is so big, I want to know where I should go. I have been dreaming of Noosa since 2017 but do not know if that is the right place for me.
I have lived in the countryside for the past 19 years, in a town with 6000 people. Now, I would like to experience life in a bigger city but still be in touch with nature and animals. I also like to have privacy and not be in crowds that are too large.
Which city should I look into? Is Noosa a good place to live in or are there bigger cities that have a beach-like lifestyle? I hope what I wrote makes sense.

recently purchased a Canon AE1 Program and have had issues with the power when the camera got a little hot was on a beach in 25C weather for a couple hours under a shirt in a bag). After this the shutter wouldn't work as the camera had no power. I replaced the battery and still it didn't work, but a few days later it just started working again. Wondering if anyone's has had this issue before, was I just stupid leaving it out in the heat or do you think something else is wrong? PS - had a similar issue when travelling Europe in the winter in the cold

i recently bought a 98 4cyl tj on 35s. she’s my daily driver and has been fine since i’ve had her (about 2 and a half months in) she runs stock dana 30 and 35… i am getting her regeared in july (ordered but on back order) but as i keep reading more about it everyone makes it seem like it’s destined to die with these axels… i just road drive it and occasionally take it to the beach. is it gonna be okay once regeared. 3spd auto getting the 4.56 gears. i don’t have the money for new axels… is it gonna be okay? wish i knew all this before the purchase. i’m on a college student budget💀i keep hearing about this “super 35 kit” it looks expensive. if i were to ask my mechanic to add it to my list of things i’m getting done in july (the regear and tlc things) how much do you think he’d run me to add it in? do i really need it or will i probably be fine? money is really tight.

When is the last the last time a new housing development (for homebuyers) has been approved and completed in Long Beach? Outside of a few small housing developments, it feels like everything being built is an apartment nowadays.
Seems the City is trying to promote a model of all renters, with all the new apartment complexes they seem to be allowing. While Long Beach has a housing shortage in all levels of housing, I feel it’s most acute at the entry-level home tier - houses between $400,000 to $650,000 range. In that range, you’d either getting a converted garage or a tear down that needs $100k of work right of the bat.
Where are all the new condos, townhomes, & starter single families? Why keep building these stucco box apartments that rent for $3,500 when you could build a condo with a mortgage payment of $3,500 and have folks build some equity rather than pay a landlord?
I know plenty of people (myself formerly included) who were looking to buy a home in Long Beach, but moved to the OC, because they still build stuff down there. It seems like this is almost an intentional choice by the City to want a city of renters.

I’ve applied for FAFSA and did every step along with a google IT professional course but i’m at a crossroads right now. I’ve been lurking this sub and other IT related subs especially the WGU ones and one thing in common for cybersecurity graduates is that they can rarely find a job because their degree is focused on one thing only as compared to computer science or information technology graduates. Unless you have a security clearance or a lot of experience and knowledge which i don’t, It looks like it’ll be hard to get employed or even get an entry level job besides help desk.
I’m interested in Cyber security but have absolutely 0 tech experience. I’ve worked as a pharmacy tech/customer service associate for the past 5 years and before that, I have about about 2 years of food service which is completely irrelevant to this degree program. I don’t mean to sound arrogant but i’m 23 and financially take care of my siblings and i’m way too old to be taking a pay cut and working for minimum wage at a help desk for 3-4 years to check HR’s experience box. I don’t make that much which is why i’m trying to get a bachelors and the certs that come with them but it’ll be futile to end up making less than i am now for the next three years or more. I was thinking of getting my A+ and getting a help desk job/internship till i graduate and learn while i’m going to school but from what i’m hearing on these subreddits, Cybersecurity jobs are either expert or entry level. There is no in-between. Would it be better to just get the general IT B.S for now? I’ve looked on indeed and other sites and i feel like there’s a lot more jobs especially entry level for IT graduates than Cyber graduates. I’m from the NYC area btw. Any guidance from people who already graduated with these degrees? Thank you guys.

My wife and I are going to Cuba in July with 2 friends . I wanted to share my itinerary with this group for thoughts and a few questions/thoughts!

• Day 1 (Wednesday)- Land in Havana (around 1500), move to Vinales
• Day 2 (Thursday) - Vinales Valley tour (Horseback riding, tobacco tour, etc) during the day. Afternoon walk through the town of Vinales
• Day 3 (Friday) - TBD, either another day in the valley (potentially visit Cuevo De Santa Tomas, or go ziplining in the valley) and head to Havana in the afternoon or head to Havana in the morning and spend the day in Havana. At night- explore banightclub scene in the vedado area (we are staying there)
• Day 4 (Saturday)- Morning: Vedado walking tour, Mojito Making Class, and in the evening go to Fabrique De Arte
• Day 5 (Sunday)- Tour Old Havana + El Morro
• Day 6 (Monday)- Vintage car tour, potentially find a salsa class, Dinner at La Guarida
• Day 7 (Tuesday)- Move to varadero in the morning; we are staying in a casa particular near the town; likely will explore the town or spend the afternoon on the beach on this day
• Day 8 (Wednesday)- Catamaran tour to Cayo Blanco with snorkeling
• Day 9 (Thursday)- beach day
• Day 10 (Friday)- Head back to Havana in the morning and leave cuba (flight leaves at 1630)

A few questions on the above!

• Transportation- what's the easiest options to get to/from Vinales and to/from Varadero? What should we expect to pay? Sounds like if you book a bus you have to do it in advance, and it ends up not being much cheaper than a taxi, especially since there are 4 of us. FYI, My casa particular host quoted us $25 per person per way for the taxi to/from Vinales
• Any opinions on whether we should spend another 1/2 day in Vinales to see the Caves / do something else, or would that time be better spent in Havana?
• I know some latin american countries have very little going on on sundays. Should we expect any issues with Havana shops/restaurants/etc being closed on the Sunday we are there?
• Cuban SIM Card- is it worth buying a Cuban SIM card? I've heard that there are tourist versions of the SIM now but that they are expensive relative to just paying for the internet cards.
• Will any of the touristy style events that I listed in the itinerary need to be booked in advance? Or will we be able to book once there?
• Any big issues with the above itinerary? i.e. travel times that aren't realistic, etc?
• Any of the things I don't have planned in the three places mentioned that you would say are "must do's"? Note we don't plan on adding more destinations given we want to take our time a bit and not feel rushed going from town to town

For context on booking things in advance, My wife is Mexican and one of the other couple coming with us is Bolivian, so we don't anticipate any issues with language barriers. Also my bolivian friend loves to haggle/negotiate, so I think unless its cheaper to book things in advance or if we are at risk of not being able to find what we need/want to do, we'd prefer to book in Cuba.

Hi all, We are a family of two adults with two small kids coming to Malta for the first time, for about nine days in June. One kid is still too young (only 2 years old) and needs a stroller for rest and daily naps.
We want to explore as much as possible, with beach not being a priority (we have beach at home :) ). What is your opinion about moving around the island? Public transport or renting a car?
Usually we use public transport wherever we go, but reading about overcrowded busses puts me off, as we are 4 people and have to board with the stroller. On the other hand I'm reading that traffic is a mess and we could be stuck for hour or two. Also, the limited parking spots all around Malta. And the last thing it the rental price. The car itself is not expensive (10-15€/day), but renting a childrens seat costs about 60-80€, more than the rental itself and almost as buying new one. And we need two.
So, opinions?

I was trying to track down any references to an old and unusual kite design I can barely remember, and I am afraid some of that might be wrong. This was sold as a fairly cheap kid's kite, either in Scotland or more likely Southern Ireland in the late 1960s or perhaps 1970s. A good deal of it was curved white plastic slats like sections of venetian blinds, partly linked with string, and when you flew it the slats moved made a little bit of noise. I think it was called an autogyro, but I don't think the slats moved like the blades of a helicopter. I can see modern kite autogyros, and I don't think this was like that. I remember flying it from beaches. It didn't perform acrobatics or anything like a stunt kite; it just flew and made a noise, but it was an amusing beach toy.
Does anybody else remember these, or can anybody point me at something modern that roughly fits the description?

I’ve been off estrogen for about a month now, and I’m still taking spiro as recommended by my doctor. And it just feels like shit. I was really feeling like I was making progress. Was in it for a solid 4 months and had my dose changed at every meeting. But I just can’t seem to get a refill since I ran out. I don’t have a car and though I live in a city there isn’t much public transit and the closest pharmacy is 2 miles away. I don’t even have much time to go out that way anyways because of the commitment of classes and work. And due to it being in the 90s for two weeks now it’s hard to walk or bike that.
I tried going right when my prescription ran out almost a month ago and the pharmacist said that they didn’t have anything for me except the spiro. My doctor is currently in the process of moving to another location so she prescribed me for the next 3 months with the intent I would be able to find a new doctor by then. Because she is leaving though it’s left me with no one to talk to about fixing this issue. I’ve tried contacting her and she told me to call the location she worked at. But when I call them they tell me that the prescriptions have already been filled and sent to the pharmacy, and since she was the one to do so they can’t refill or fix anything because they need my registered doctor to do that. Eventually I was able to get her to send another prescription over a few days ago and now is the first time I’ve had a car in weeks so it seems to be lining up but when I called the pharmacy to place the order in advanced they just said I don’t have any prescriptions then said good by. The only other option I’ve been given is to go to the pharmacy through my school which would be so much more convenient if they didn’t require insurance. I’m on family insurance but I know they would disapprove of me if they found out I was trans so I’m trying to do it all out of pocket. They told me if I wanted to do that it would cost $200 just for a one month supply of 2mg estradiol.
I’m just starting to get worried. I know not being on it any more is effecting me negatively if even feeling worse every day and it’s getting harder and harder to enjoy things, do my class work, even get out of bed. I’m honestly just scared I won’t be able to get back on my recommended hrt for months or who even knows when.
