And I feel horrible for doing it. I had to do it, but I feel almost sick to my stomach at the thought. I have struggled with depression for a long time, and finally, after years of being trapped in what felt like purgatory, I have finally clawed myself out the point that I would consider myself happy. Then this friend, who I haven't spoken to in months, messages me out of the blue about how she broke up with her shitty boyfriend of several years and she's feeling really down about it. I talk her through it, as I have several times since I've known her. I give her all the advice I can. Just give it time, he was awful to you and you're better off without him, you'll get through it, etc. But she just gets worse and worse. She spirals, starts talking about how depressed she is and how she wants to kill herself. I mean every single day messaging me about her suicidal thoughts and how she's going to do it. I tell her she needs to seek therapy and/or professional help, and that I'm not the right person to talk to about this. She tells me she's already in therapy and it isn't helping. After nearly a week of this, I can't take it anymore. I message her and tell her I can't be a receptacle for all her negative thoughts and that these messages are having an effect on my mental health that I've worked so hard to build back up. I tell her that I can't be the kind of friend she wants be to be and that it isn't fair to expect this from me. I tell her I wish her the best, but I can't do this anymore. And she blows up on me. I have to cut her off. I can't get through to her, I've tried to help her and she refuses. I'm worried she'll hurt herself, but I can't have that kind of weight on my shoulders. I don't even know her particularly well, we just got along alright at a job I had about a year ago. But, despite all this, she tells me I'm her only friend and the only one she can talk to. But I just can't do it anymore. I ask myself if I made the right choice in cutting her off. What else could I do? It's a burden I just can't bear right now.

So, my mom saw and recognized my altar while visiting, which is unsurprising since I keep it near the kitchen for ease of access and to keep it out of my bedroom. She started asking questions about it; what it was for, who the statue was, was it for a specific religion, etc.. She was trying not to make a big deal out of it, but it is clear she felt slightly freaked out. I was uncomfortable talking about it, since I was not sure exactly how she'd take it, but I think it went okay.
Anyway, she said she wanted to be more informed about paganism and asked me to send some stuff she can look at to understand better. For context, we were both raised as Jehovah's Witnesses, and we both eventually dropped out of religion entirely. My mom never really had the same spiritual journey as me and thus never had to confront what she was taught about other religions. I would say she's probably agnostic since she's said she's just not interested in religion in general and doesn't really seem to think about God(s).
Does anyone have recommendations? For reference, I'm a Sumerian polytheist, primarily devoted to worshipping Inanna-Ishtar. I'm closer to a hard polytheist as well. Mesopotamian paganism as a whole is not as popular or talked about as the bigger pagan paths, and there's so much misinformation about it. I'm unfortunately lacking for many non-technical resources about it that don't dip into cuckoo conspiracy theories. More general guides to polytheism would probably be pretty helpful as well.

Hello from Mexico! This is my first time posting here, and I want to talk to you about Volcanoids.
I have recently while watching some Youtube reviews discovered this fun-looking game, and after watching some gameplay videos I'm confident this would be something I would really love to play. I am a sucker for open world survival crafting games, and I've sunk enough hours into games like Subnautica and Valheim to know how these games suck you in and eventually make you forget the outside world. I love the feeling of having to scrounge at first, and that sense of accomplishment when you manage to build THAT weapon, or THAT mobile base, like in Subnautica when I finally managed to build the Cyclops in Survival mode after a grueling 20-something hours of fighting off Stalkers to get their teeth, or finally managing to put the finishing touches on the smithing room in Skyrim.
I also love the steampunk aesthetic of the game, and I've been a sucker for it since playing Rise of Legends a long time ago, with the Vinci quickly becoming my favorite faction. I've seen few games that manage to capture that feeling of ramshackle refinement and Volcanoids' graphics just seem to do it for me. I especially like the part where you fight the clunky-looking robots which remind me of the Big Daddies from Bioshock.
I would really like to play this game, but I was laid off a couple of months ago and I am running through my savings faster than I'd like just on the basics. The hunt for a new job just seems endless and it hurts that I can't just buy it. I am asking for a gift card because the game is almost twice its price in other currencies, but I don't know if there is an option to have the value of the game sent in a gift card. Volcanoids is more or less $11 USD in my currency, but I have seen it almost at $20 in the US store.

This post might be messy due to brain fog. I'm chronically ill and in my mid-30s. I'm actually homebound. I'm not an American. I've been searching for awhile for an apartment and every fiber of my being is basically screaming at me to stop.
I get disability payments, but I still am financially supported by my elderly abusive parents. I won't be able to afford an apartment without the support. Currently I am dealing with an apartment that I can't really be in, but I don't have anywhere to go. That also hindered the process of finding a place. I understood that I am on my own. While I get money, my family won't pull me out of the street, if that happens.
I saw an apartment yesterday. The neighbourhood is meh and will get worse. The cost of living will continue to rise. And well as rent prices. It's okay, it's too big, but I don't have to use all of it. But it's in the upper range of my ability to pay. I won't be able to save or even maybe get nice things. But I will have an apartment. I'm tired, I can't control the future. I can't work. My father might stop working any day anyway. I have savings, but that's all. No pension or anything.
I asked for a discount and the landlord isn't about that. I never paid such high rent for an apartment but hey, it's 2023. I'm afraid that if I wait another day, it will be snatched. There's a lot of people that are looking to rent and don't need a discount. Should I just take it? These are the prices. And I am just torn. I'm so traumatised from whatever happened to me this year that I need to hide in a safe place.
Yeah, I am afraid. But even if I find something cheaper, it'll still be expensive, just more affordable. I'm just rambling at this point. I already lost some apartments to other people and I need a contract. My nerves are shot. Thank you.

I have 2 different flights booked. Paris to Los Angles on June 10th and Paris to Austin, TX on June 9th. They overlap due to the long flights.
I’m not 100% sure on where I’ll actually need to be when I return to the US, and I don’t want to get stuck paying a huge price difference last minute. So I just plan on canceling the one I do not need.
However, United emailed me saying “We noticed you may have more than one reservation that contains duplicate or overlapping flight segments, which could affect your ability to complete your travel. Please cancel any reservations that you do not intend to fly or this booking may be subject to auto cancellation without further notice.”
How much time do I have before one of my flight segments is auto cancelled??
If it matters, I’m 1K with United.
