Recently I've watched Star Wars (original trilogy) for the first time, and to say that I'm disappointed is downplaying it. From what I've heard for all this years, I was expecting something absolutely spectacular, but my god it is so far from that. I've seen far too many people considering LOTR, Harry Potter and Star Wars as the three pillars of fantasy/fiction in movies, but not only do I consider the first two much more superior, I straight up think the Star Wars (original trilogy) are just bad movies period. From a technical point of view, they're actually good, and I believe they aged fine, but the plot, the characters, the story, the world building are extremely poor. The worst thing by far are the plot holes: they are crucial and plentiful.
Am I the only one that thinks this? I'd like to be proven wrong, perhaps with examples from the actual movies, because I've got a list of what I believe to be are plot holes that might be explained (within the movies of course, not fandoms).
Ps: I might take a while to respond, because English is not my first language.

Last April, I stumbled upon this account just as it was starting to make the rounds on Twitter and get everyone riled up (rightfully so, of course). I read his tweet calling for a mass shooting at Celebration, as well as the whole thread that he tried to pass off as "a call to arms." I'd never seen such an intense and violent desire for revenge against the members of Star Wars community, except perhaps from the infamous Yelt Frous, another warmongering Twitter account.
(Side note...I am almost convinced that those two accounts were created by the exact same person).
I've already seen people on here talking about how they tried to retweet their violent and brigading messages through accounts like Nerdrotic and Ryan Kinel, but what I found surprising is that they made a direct comment to Will Jordan, aka the Critical Drinker, asking him why he had featured "Mandalorian apologist" Tyrone Magnus on one of his more recent After-Hours streams, and accusing him of "fraternizing with the enemy." So what this implies to me is that whoever ran AvengeStarWars was disappointed and frustrated with those belonging to the Fandom Menace who had not taken the kind of drastic action against Lucasfilm for which he was advocating.
Like everyone else, I saw him as a deranged and pathetic psychopath, and I even called him as such, saying that he was an idiot for thinking he was fighting for a noble cause...that he was a nobody, and would die as one. He lashed out at me, as he did to many others, with all his mindless rage and hypocrisy, saying that killing "franchise-murdering terrorists" did not make him a murderer in turn; it would make him a hero and a savior of George Lucas's legacy, even though I told him he was insane if he thought Lucas would support half the stuff he'd been saying.
He was reported and suspended in record time, but I was rather disappointed to see that he had been shot down so quickly. I've only just learned he tried to make a second account, only to have that one suspended too.
I know this is just me, but if he comes around again...we shouldn't be so quick to report him for a third time. Not immediately, anyway. I want to watch him squirm and writhe as he drowns himself with his own psychopathic ranting and raging. To see how much it will take before he realizes the magnitude of the opposition against him...if he even realizes it at all. I vote we let him scream into the empty void and beat him back down every time he tries to claw his way back up...because that is what people like him deserve. To be tortured endlessly by constantly facing strong opposition to their advocacy for violence and bloodshed...to forever be alone and trapped by their hatred and murderous rage.

Join the Green Force Warriors and explore the continent of Nokonia! In this story, you will join a mercenary guild and travel the world, helping it's people with their problems. Cults, pirates, the undead... there's many frightening foes you will have to fight on your journey to piece together the powerful rainbow star. If you do this out of sheer goodwill or to earn reputation and money is only up to you.
If you want to join the Green Force Warriors, you should:
-Be between 19 and 25 years of age. I am 22 years old and I prefer to play with people within my own age group.
-have time for a session at least once a week, ideally live in a European Timezone or be willing to make it work
-Be accepting of LGBT relationships and themes in the campaign
-Be accepting of a largely homebrewed world, not everything is exactly as the rulebooks say, aside from most gameplay mechanics
-be accepting of a dmpc, as I prefer to play a part too in my story. Of course the primary focus will be on the player characters
-be familiar or willing to learn how to use avrae and dnd beyond
-have or be willing to make a discord account, as that's where we will play
-be okay with my world taking inspiration from several of my favorite video games
-not flirt, date or try to have sex my characters
-homebrew gameplay should be kept to a minimum with the characters, as it is very hard to balance, but flavor is allowed, but I want you to talk about that with me beforehand
-be willing to interact with my characters and the world itself
-be willing to work with me to integrate the character into the world
-be aware that I tend to avoid character deaths at all cost, so you should play a character you can see playing yourself longterm

Not to dunk on other star wars properties, but while lucas ( and other writers involved in the franchise ) did intend on putting politics into the star wars medias, it's fair to say that the political aspect while clearly visible is not what most of the fans search in star wars.
I think the lack of clarity, complexity and accuracy regarding politics is some of the things that draws people more aligned with the reactionaries towards fictions with leftist politics.
Like, the Matrix sagas is by design supposed to be a metaphor of queerness and to be a critic of capitalism, but the way it was presented in 1999 can also be interepreted as a power male fantasy and the "matrix" as a complotist plot. You actually need to have media literacy to understand the subtext. It's not that clear for the casual viewer. And I think it's kinda the same with star wars ( I would say that matrix is actually better at showing its point than star wars, because it is way more charged by subtexts to analyse whereas star wars is simple because primarily destined to kids ).
The thing about Andor is that contrary to the other pieces of the franchise, it actually takes seriously the politics of the wider universe and takes from our universe, our history to do so, to actually show us how the empire exerces its control on the people it oppresses.
I think that's a wonderful piece of media that is sadly terribly relevant in those times, and I dunno...
I think the andor's fanbase is one sub-section of the star wars fandom that actually seriously engages with the art.
Most of the talk I have seen is about character arcs, themes, politics, performance, dialogs, subtexts, etc...
I get the same feelings I had between the sub-sections of the fandom of the Breakingbadverse. I feel safer in the Better Call Saul fandom because people aren't engaged in the story like "sigma male walter white, skyler bad", etc... they actually engage with the characters, their motivations, their struggles, etc..
I dunno where I'm going with that, I just wanted to say how happy I was to have a space where I could really engage emotionnally and critically with people on star wars, because with the gatekeeping and reactionaries, it's been difficult being a part of the fandom of star wars, recently, and I'm glad I'm able to have those discussions here
