I didn’t watch season 1 and I almost couldn’t get through episode 1 of season 2. I am bad at names but whenever the one lady had bad time management the one judge just basically trash talked her. It was unnecessary. The only redeeming part was when Logan went over to support one of the other contestants when he didn’t have to, that was pretty wholesome to see

Just finished season 4 and I have to ask, am I the only one who is completely baffled by the direction of the entire season?
I’m usually not a fan of between season time leaps, but I begrudgingly accepted the creative direction after the first two episodes because there were some solid continuances of the themes of acceptance and regret that were developed throughout the series. I was continually skeptical that a 20-30 minute per episode season could bring a reasonable end to the story.
Things I liked: 1. Couldn’t think of a different way for NoHo Hank to come to end, even if it was abrupt. 2. Stephen Root carried this last season. Fantastic character development and scene to scene presence. 3. Sarah Goldberg did a great job personifying broken dreams and living through deep regret, and was the most followable character for all of the bleak ‘Oklahoma?’ on the lam episodes.
Things I was confused by: 1. How easily Barry got his son back. I didn’t hate the moment between Fuches and Barry, and that no-showdown moment was fine, but I think the complete extinguishing of a situation with a huge buildup without a comedic slant was a big misstep. 2. Was the point of the whole fourth season to show how Hollywood produces the stories it finds marketable?Barry’s son got to watch the story of his dad that Barry himself lucked into at the expense of Gene Cousineau. There were plot points with Barry wanting to make things right up to the end, but neither Barry nor Gene impacted the final message with their own.
I feel like this series could have ended in a number of ways. What I didn’t brace myself for was the path of least resistance. I found myself rooting for anything to happen to the characters that we’ve looked at for the whole series, or at least a self realization.
All I was left with was a half nod that Barry might have been a good guy, through the eyes of his son.
Did I watch this wrong?

Through the frosted glass of the oak door of Dr. D Chambers, Allan Ridgemont lay on the leather couch blabbing about ‘Melissa.’
Madame Tandoori had explicitly told him to use that name while talking to Dr. Chambers and any other court ordered type situations, lest they think both he and she are mutually insane.
“That’s great, Allan…do you think it’s a little soon to be moving in together?” Daphne asked.
“I knew you’d say that, doctor,” he started. “but no, I don’t think so. This feels just right,” he said.
“How does Julia like her?” she asked.
He stopped and burst out a hearty bout of laughter designed to hide the tears that came just thinking about how Madame Tandoori had killed her. “Just great…they’re just great together.”
She nodded in a sort of
“Oh,” Daphne started. “I have some great news for you. I have a job for you if you’re interested.”
“Really?” he said, trying to compose himself from mourning Julia.
“Yes, and you can start pretty much immediately.”
“That’s great! Where is it? What am I doing?” he asked.
“It’s a job with the state. You’ll be installing new road signs,” she said.
“Okay,” he said.
“It’s something to get you back on your feet,” she told him.
On the ride back to his apartment, Ridgemont watched a new clip from a popular podcaster named Ron Rosen. He would talk about all types of subjects – usually covering current new events of the day. He also had a popular podcast segment where he would find some lunatic – be it off the street or referred to him or whatever and the audience would have a laugh.
This particular podcase segment was discussing how the space program believed they had just identified not only a distant, Earth-like planet, but also, may have figured out a way to get there. The technology was very secretive, but there was legitimacy in the sources saying these things.
The Earth-like planet of discussion was a planet of the star Alkaid – the tip of the tail star that makes up Ursa Major, The Big Dipper. It was dubbed ‘Kainos’ and it was believed to be similar to Earth, only it was believed to have rings like Saturn and 3 moons. There was newfound energy in the space exploration program building into this revelation.
Rosen was actual local to Cincinnati and Ridgemont had even seen him out around the city here and there.
When he walked in the apartment, Madame Tandoori met him at the door, grinning.
“I have a job,” he said.
“I know!” she said. “Let’s go out and celebrate!”
“With what?” he asked. “I used the rest of my money to get to Pueblo on the train and you used the rest of your money to pay for the motel and get us back here. The food stamps are gone.”
“Leave that up to me,” she said, giggling. “And you know, we’re going to need to start making some changes around here.”
She took out her giant emerald and walked over to the door entryway. She knelt down with it and smacked it against the steel framing of the doorway. A long blade of the stone about the size of a pencil chipped off and she picked it up.
She said, “The man you saw in the cave –“
“I didn’t actually see him,” he interrupted.
“You know who it was…don’t you?” she prodded.
“Yes,” he answered.
“And you’re good with that…right?” she said.
He looked at her sharply…”Definitely.”
“You…we…were given gifts…like Robert Johnson at the crossroads…do you know who Robert Johnson was?” she asked.
“Yeah,” he answered.
“So…are you ready for the roller coaster to begin?” she asked.
He nodded and she took his right hand and took the emerald chard and drove it into his palm. Then she took it and drove it into her own palm and they clasped hands and then he sucked the blood from her hand and she the same to his.
It was dusk and the pair hopped the bus to a crowded bar. The sign above the entrance in neon lettering said “Taft’s.”
They walked into the bar where there were a number of holla-zones…room areas that were something like virtual reality that put you in the seat or any world position you wanted to be in at the live Cincinnati Wendigo game. The Wendigo were the local professional lacrosse team and were playing against the Colorado Mammoth.
They scoured the holla-zones and found a group making a ruckus in one of them. They looked at each other and walked over.
One of the gentlemen sat in his seat talking with a group of other guys watching the game – which was currently COL 2, CIN 6.
“C’mon, just make a bet…let’s make it interesting,” one of them was saying.
“Colorado doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell,” one said back.
“I’ll give you great odds – we’ll make a $200 bet, 8-1 odds. You win, that’s a cool $1600…you lose, it’s just $200,” he said.
“I’ll take that bet,” said Ridgemont said.
The group of guys looked over at Ridgemont and Madame Tandoori, who was dressing in her flamboyant attire.
“I’ll bet you Colorado wins,” he said.
“Well alright then…now it’s a game,” the man said.
“You’re buying the next round,” one of the guys said to the gambler.
A waitress walked by and asked them what they wanted.
Ridgemont said, “Bring a bottle of Johnny Walker Red, two chilled glasses and leave them.”
Madame Tandoori smacked him on the ass.
He spoke up to the gambler and his group, “You know…this bet is a bit tame really. Let’s really live a little. How about we go even odds, $10,000 straight bet…Colorado over Cincinnati.”
Just then Cincinnati scored again. COL 2, CIN 7.
The gambler looked at them and smiled…a pity, yet crafty smile. “I can’t take your money like that…let’s just keep it light, even odds,” he said.
“Maybe your buddies want to chip in or be part of the payout…if we lose,” Ridgemont said.
They looked at him nodding their heads.
“My buddies want in…but, friend…we’re in the 4th quarter of the game…nothin’s fallin’ for Colorado tonight…you’re down by 5…I’ll give you one more offramp and I’ll expect payment,” the gambler said.
The waitress showed back up with the bottle of Johnny Walker Red and the frosty glasses. Madame Tandoori poured each of them a drink and the toasted one another.
“$10,000,” Ridgemont said to the man.
The group of guys were now excited about their fortunate payday. The gambler – concerned.
Cincinnati scored again, COL 2, CIN 8.
A few drinks later, there were two minutes left in the game and the score was COL 3, CIN 12.
“Listen…better luck next time,” said the gambler. “How will you be paying?”
“Oh, no!” the commentator cried out.
One of the Cincinnati players, Brock Anderson, was on the ground, writhing in pain. Anderson was Cincinnati’s biggest All-Star. Several minutes later, he limped, supported by a couple of medics, his way off the field.
Play started back up and a few seconds into it, Colorado scored. And then again…and again.
The gambler was furious. His friends, furious.
There were 15 seconds left in the game – which was now tied, 13-13.
Madame Tandoori gave Ridgemont an assuring nod as play resumed. Cincinnati had the ball and were passing down the field when a Colorado player intercepted a pass and ran down past the line and threw a bounce shot and just as time was expiring, the ball passed through the goalie’s arm and into the net.
Reluctantly, the gambler and his buddies made good on their bet and produced the $10k for Ridgemont – via an under-the-table offline card.
There was a loud commotion over at another holla-zone. Another game was about halfway through. Madame Tandoori took a drink and said to the gambler, “Double of nothing?” motioning over to the other game.
He looked at the pair and said…”Nah…I ain’t got double.”
Around the bar, Madame Tandoori performed palm readings for patrons and took small bets for ‘guess the number’ type tricks with people. And then a man walked up with a sizeable entourage. He was familiar…it was Ron Rosen.
“I call bullshit,” he said to Madame Tandoori.
She looked up at him standing there, “Would you like me to read your palm?” she asked him.
“No…I think this is all bullshit, and I’ve watched you for about 20 minutes and I think you’re a con artist,” he said.
She pretended to be worried.
“I’ll tell you what – come on my show tomorrow night and you can prove to me and…44 million other people that you’re a real psychic,” he said.
“Ok,” she said.
“Actually, I’ve got an even better idea,” he said. “You’re sitting here doing “pick a number” bullshit…if you’re up for it, I’ll give you a real test…you up for it?” he asked.
“Sure,” she said.
“Let’s walk across the street real quick,” he said.
As they walked, he said, “Alright, so tomorrow night is a lottery drawing. I want you to walk into this store right now, fill out a lottery ticket with the numbers you think will win tomorrow night and then hand it to me and I will put it in a safe and when you come by to do the show, we will watch the lottery call-out and compare it with your numbers…sound fair?” he said.
“Sure,” she said.
She walked into the little convenience store, took a lottery card and bubbled in 5 numbers. She walked back out and handed it to Rosen.
“Alright, thank you, miss?” he said.
“Tandoori…Madame Tandoori,” she said.

Seriously!? How could Japan expect people to be okay with this series endorsing a 16-18 year old guy marrying a 10 year old girl?! Even with 2 year wait it’s a 12 year old! Tsubaki the kunoichi would have been a better fit as she is badass, attractive, and if she worked under touya as a personal shinobi she would be a teammate he can work with and trust to have his back and fall in love. Like yae she is gallant and moral and respects him for his positive traits.
To handle the Su arranged marriage plot in episode 7, here’s what I would do.. Arrange a fake Su death story to avoid trouble refusing other nation (she got a plague and had to be cremated so ash’s excuse if country asks for body). She gets her hair changed to black and is called Touya long lost sister who found him when he became a monarch. It’s a believable story since he is a commoner turned royal and would allow him to avoid marrying a child and being called a pedo (unlike the writers I dare say!).
Pros and cons Pros: 1. Su can avoid marrying a brat 30 year old monarch pedo who has no claims to cut ties with Belfast without losing face. 2. Touya avoids marrying Su against his will 3. With gate su and her dad get to be with each other when homesick 4. Su gets a good home, education from other girls (cooking cleaning magic lessons: life lessons in general), and lives in a wholesome small country with moralistic people from eashan. 5. Series gets no backlash from lolicon material. 6. With yuminas magic eyes of good insight and touya powers, she’s guaranteed a safe life and can find a partner when she’s older under their watchful eyes.
Cons 1. Su can really be herself anymore as the plan only works if they fake her death and give her new name and appearance. Only royal brunhild country family knows truth and has to keep her secret from citizens and other nations so she can’t call herself Su. That can be a really depressing identity issue for a child growing up. 2. Touya would have to become her older brother and essentially raise her like a father would and being a king and a fiancé to 5 woman that’s a massive burden for him. 3. Alfred her father wouldn’t be able to see her everyday when he wakes up because she would be living in Briunhild and may be training so she may not see him all the time even with gate. Not being able to wake up your child you raised for 10 years may be sad for a father like him.
Still I feel pros out way con and the series would be a little less disgusting sounding if he married a ninja girl closer to his age or older than a 10 year old child whose related to his first fiancé yumina. Even without morals of earth involved it still feels wrong rooting for that marriage between him and Su.

I’m rewatching season 1 episode 4. There’s a scene where Logan is receiving adrenaline shots and the doctor warns him that more than 3 a year can lead to permanent nerve damage. Adrenaline has a direct link to Pulmonary Embolisms. Maybe in the end he died because of himself.

Grinded up to 90 fairly quickly with a prof X lockdown deck when the season started, but was sorta unable to push past it for a while. Felt like I was up against a wall, I'd pingpong between 87 and 94.

High evo came out, and it felt like my old deck was actually just useless against it, it was teching all the wrong things. I retooled it from the ground up as a Storm/Spiderman lockout list instead, and just cruised from 89 - 100 in a few hours. I just finished bojack today, and I’ve been thinking a lot about the show since. Absolutely loved it btw.
The first 2/3 of s6 were partially about the build up to Bojack’s cancellation. In the “trial” of bojack, which is how I took the two interviews he does when the public finds out about his involvement in Sarah Lynn’s death, there were some details of the stories from both the interviewer and some of her evidentiary references got wrong.
For example, the kid hollyhock talked to at a party who was penny’s friend said that bojack “gave them alcohol and basically forced them to drink.” This was kinda-sorta true, but the kids already had vodka and red Bull before BJ got involved, and he got them bourbon and water because it would have less hangover. He also seemed pretty indifferent to the kids drinking, one way or another, and it’s not exactly novel for teens to drink at their prom. It was obviously wrong of him to not curtail their drinking as a responsible adult, but the guy’s story didn’t quite match up with reality.
The interviewer also seemed to be misrepresenting BJ’s relationship with Sarah Lynn, as she wasn’t so much victimized by BJ in the sex and binging so much as she was a partner. She was way off the rails earlier in the series than BJ, doing club drugs and coke while BJ mostly seemed to be drinking in season 1. While she was 9 months sober before BJ’s big binge, a few episodes earlier SL said something to the effect of “I need someone to help me break my string of sobriety”, implying she wouldn’t have stayed sober regardless of BJ’s involvement. When they had sex, if I recall she initiated it and used it to manipulate him into letting her friends trash his house.
I’m not saying any of this to criticize the show or absolve BJ, but to ask: do you think the show runners were using these minor inconsistencies to criticize the style of witch-hunt the media performs, which might be focused more on sensationalism rather than accuracy, or to try to bend the argument a little more that BJ truly does have a history victimizing women he has power over?
As a somewhat separate discussion from what the show runners intended, It wasn’t really clear to me either way whether or not he DID have a tendency to victimize women from a position of power. He didn’t really have power over Sarah Lynn by the time he got involved in sex and drugs with her; he was a washed up sitcom actor, she was the biggest superstar in the world at that point and was over 30. He didn’t seem like he intended to pursue Penny; he mostly seemed to try to do right by her, and only at the end, when he was having a breakdown was she even framed as a romantic option for him. He definitely made (or would have made) a mistake in the moment, but it seemed more like one of opportunity and desperation, not of coercive intent. Still gross in a different way, but it didn’t seem clear to me it was like the interviewer was implying.
I’m definitely not saying BJ was a “good guy”, but it didn’t seem like he fit into the “me too” bad guy category of men that have a pattern of strategically coercing women into sex using disparities of power (ala Weinstein), but that is where BJ seemed to wind up in public opinion in the world of the show.
I guess what’s itching my brain is I can’t quite tell what the showrunners were trying to say. If BJ was supposed to come come off looking like the villain the interviewer claimed he was, they probably needed to show more intentionality in his behavior, similar to when BJ sabotaged Todd’s opera. I view that as one of the worst things he did, not because of the outcome, but because of how calculated and intentional it was. But if BJ is supposed to come off as ambiguous or as having gotten a raw deal, there didn’t seem to be much resolution of that by the end of the show. He winds up in prison, having lost or alienated most or all of his friends and family (rip hollyhock), homeless, and with no job prospects when he gets out.
Btw, I think the worst the BJ did in the entire show was something they waited until the interview to reveal: the fact that BJ waited 17 minutes before calling paramedics, and that SL was still alive when she got to the hospital. But while that was enormously fucked up, it’s never discussed again, and we never get any insight into BJ’s decision or into his response to the accusation. Did he know SL was still alive? If he didnt, he didn’t seem surprised when this when this was brought up, but if he did then it seems like it should’ve been brought up in his guilt episodes before now.

Recipe: Turkey Tomato Basil Penne
Ingredients: * 2 pounds of ground turkey (93/7) * 32 ounces of premade tomato basil pasta sauce * 8.8 ounces of red lentil penne * 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese * 1 tablespoon black pepper * 1 tablespoon onion powder * 6 tablespoons kosher salt (4 for pasta water) * 2 tablespoons olive oil * 2 tablespoons dried basil
Instructions: 1. Cook the red lentil penne according to the instructions on the package, adding 4 tablespoons of kosher salt to the boiling water. Drain and set aside. 2. In a large skillet or saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. 3. Add the ground turkey to the skillet and cook until it is no longer pink, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. 4. Once the turkey is cooked through, add the premade tomato basil pasta sauce to the skillet. Stir well to combine the sauce with the turkey. 5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. 6. While the sauce is simmering, you can season it with the remaining kosher salt, black pepper, onion powder, and dried basil. Adjust the seasoning to taste. 7. Academics: 1600 SAT, 1500 PSAT, 4.9 to 5.0 weighted GPA out of 5.33 potential, 3.97 unweighted (1 B in Multivariable Calc as a junior). Not submitting ACT. Not sure on class rank, but maybe 15-25/700? Coursework: most challenging available, 13 APs taken, 6-7 more as a senior, 5 years of Spanish self-studied over two years. Probably 5s on most APs but haven't gotten scores back for 9 of them. Also took precalc, linear algebra, econometrics, and a data analytics course outside of school.

1. Started a recruitment agency in a small African country that has found full time work for 20+ people. Brokered services for software engineering firms in said country. Created and marketed a data analytics team. $20k+ profit, $120k+ wage income earned. By far the thing I am most proud of.
2. Heavily involved in political advocacy in said country. Raised $100k+ for a small political organization there, representing a 1000% increase in their funding. This is a LOT for the region, but I can't say too much here as my involvement in this is very private.
3. Debate captain (one of five). Only started in my junior year, but was very successful for my level of experience. Have won a few tournaments and placed t10 at states. It's possible I'll be the first nationals qualifier from my school in a while by the time I submit some of my apps.
4. Founder of school world awareness club, discussing current events and history in lesser-known countries. Used this to coordinate some of my political activities.

Essay: personal statement about my background as a homeschooler and how I developed a global awareness and a passion for working towards international development. I write a lot and have worked extremely hard on it, but there's no way for me to really rate it.
LoR 1: English teacher, got a 100% on nearly every assignment in his class and have a close relationship with him. 8/10. LoR 2: We the People Teacher: essentially did more than half of the work for the team of 13 all year. Worked with him all year to try to get a group of people from a lot of different backgrounds to work together. By far the most successful student in other competitions associated with the class. Knows about my political activism stuff and my company. That being said, I am quite nervous about this one, as he has very open strong political beliefs that I have questioned all year, and he might also think I'm a little awkward and disorganized. 7/10? counselor's rec: should basically say that I made her life difficult by asking for various courses and that my mom likes me

A bit nervous going in to my junior-senior summer, as my top 3 ECs are in critical periods. That being said, I care about all three of them for reasons far beyond college, especially the top 2. Some cynical part of me still wishes I just played squash all my life and made this a cake walk, though. Would love feedback on my chances and potentially recommendations for more schools to apply to.

It would be so amazing to see a perfectly faithful and well done anthology series, like American horror story, of all the books King ties into The Dark Tower.
Start with Salem's Lot for season 1, maybe The Stand for season 2. As I have yet to finish I won't pretend to know all the books that tie in or what the best viewing order would be. But release The Gunslinger as a movie before season 1, then Drawing of the Three in between 1 and 2, so on and so forth.
Get the same actors to play the recurring role, such as The Man in Black, the reverend, etc. For that matter give Mconahay the role he deserved and bring him back as all the different iterations. Wouldn't mind Idris getting another shot at Roland either honestly. Hell I'd take the same kid as Jake. But old, but pull some fuckery with the wheel of Ka spinning, I'd buy it.
All this would never compare to the books, I know, but it be so cool if it was done right and with respect. Taken seriously as well. Imagine the first phase of MCU and the Netflix/Marvel shows.
TLDR - Stephen King anthology series of the books that most directly tie into The Dark Tower, with TDT series itself releasing as movies in between.
