Hi all,
My brother has done B.A in Hindi, M.A in sociology. He has given three attempts for the UPSC but couldn't crack the exams.
He is quite demotivated and doesn't want to give another attempts. He wants to look for other options based on his qualifications but I am not sure about the right career choices. I am suggesting him to go for UGC NET with sociology as his main subjects but that also requires preparation of its own. He will give the exams this year.
My question to this community is what are different career options for a candidate with such degree?
Most of the job listing I search for with Sociology as qualification requires experience.

I knew I was trans since I was 11. I wasn't super masculine but also not really effeminate. Dysphoria would come in cycles and eventually became so bad that I either took hrt or I ended my life. No time to wait months for doctors to talk to me, so I DIY. Eventually talked to doctors and got diagnosed with gd but I'm afraid they diagnosed me because I was already taking hormones. I don't blame them, they've been everything to me.
Dysphoria for me was an intense desire of being feminine, of being a woman, of seeing a woman in the mirror.
I'm 1.5 years on hormones and had FFS 6 months ago, at 1 year. I pass now, if I use bangs. If I don't use bangs I don't really pass and it bothers me.
Ever since FFS I've been going to doctors for all kinds of post FFS care: Adams apple not shaved enough so planning for revisions, got a fatty cyst just below my eyebrow that's getting removed soon, physiotherapy appointments, stitch removal, everything.
Even 2 days ago I was bawling my eyes out because my body was too masculine and I was jealous at someone that started at 14. At the clinic they told me it could be possible that my Adams apple can't get any smaller and I cried. I really want to have a feminine hairline, I am planning hair transplants too. So how is it possible to go thinking like that, intensely desiring to not look like a man, to suddenly feeling like this? Read below: 👇
Yesterday I was coming home by bus, it's a 4 hour trip, and I was thinking about how tired of all of these trips I am, about how my life was so simple before. The bus had an infotainment system but I turned off the screen so I could see my reflection the whole time. I didn't really like what I saw, but I think I still was kinda passable. And then this thought crossed my mind
"Maybe if I got my hair short I could be a handsome man instead, it would make my life so simple"
And I don't know why but since I had that thought I've been suffering from extreme anxiety, this was last night and I've puked twice and been sitting on the toilet every 30 minutes. It felt exactly like I felt during my days pre hrt when dysphoria hit pretty bad.
I took diazepam before bed and 5mg more this morning plus 20mg of propranolol and it has barely done anything to calm down my heartbeat.
I am scared I am not trans anymore and I ruined everything. Scared that maybe I had FFS before I felt like this. Scared to tell my mother I am not trans anymore, it's been hard for her to accept and she'll be like I told you so and plus she hates having physical contact with me and I really need someone to hold my hand right now, if I tell her this she will let me be around her even less than before.
I didn't take anti androgens this morning. Am dreading next E injection. I washed my teeth and looked in the mirror and I didn't mind what I saw but thinking about doing my morning routine made me want to throw up.
I just don't know anymore. Maybe I'm not trans and I should desist? Should I continue? Rationally, I don't mind living my life as a woman, and I remember dreading living my life as a man. So logically speaking, I should continue HRT. But now my resting heart rate is 130 and I've been reading all the posts here and I don't know.
I don't know! Am I feeling dysphoria because I think I don't look like a girl enough? Am I feeling reverse dysphoria because I am a cis man after all? Am I depressed? Am I tired of how much FFS recovery is taking out of me? Should I continue HRT? Should I stop?
Has anyone here ever felt like this? I am currently in bed and called in sick. I get up from bed to do something, but leave my room to stare around and come back to bed. But I'm too jumpy to stay in bed. I'm such a mess.
I think I feel worse now than I've ever felt before I started HRT, and it's so painful so so so painful I've started thinking of ending my life just to stop the suffering and if in the past I stopped myself because I knew it was irrational and would make some people sad, now I don't care about that I just want the suffering to stop. I'm panicking, and the meds didn't work.
I don't even know who to talk about this, next therapy appointment is in July because the doctor is on vacation, can't even ask her for emergency appointment. My friend would listen to me but she wouldn't understand and I've been too much of a burden on her lately that she has started being hesitant to allow me to visit her home, so I want to give her space and only be positive around her for a bit.

last night at around 1 AM I spilled water on my iPad Pro that was sitting in my lap. It got the port wet and didn't want to charge after I let my iPad sit for a while off charger and I go to bed not thinking about it my iPad dies. next morning at 10 AM I plug it back in iPad works, I keep it on the charger probably excessively for long periods of time (I should not do that) but I come back to bed the next night it's 4 AM stayed up late with my friends whatever go to bed thinking I'm going to be able to watch a show on my iPad and my iPad is back at 14% I unplug my iPad and plug it back in and it says water detected in port, and I thought I let the iPad dry out for a long time but it's still detecting water no matter if I turn the iPad on and off if I change different cords cleaning out with a rag do all the home remedies nothing have I fucked up my iPad forever?? I just wanna know before I go and use Apple care if it's not broken I bought the warranty it expires in October. But it's okay i finally resolved my anger issues from him and moving forward for what i really deserve!

I just separated about 1 month ago now. With the help of a local and highly recommended DAV agent, I filed my fully developed claim a few weeks ago. I’m currently in the evidence gathering phase and haven’t heard anything regarding scheduling a VA medical exam.
Is it possible that since everything I claimed is both documented in my medical records AND occurred while on active duty would negate the need for a VA medical exam? It was my understanding that everyone has to get one when they do their first claim.

The medical diagnosis is in the title. I wanted to become a professional powerlifter and was pretty stupid with my deadlifting programming where I basically trained to failure and pushed myself to the limit to often. 2 months ago I did 3 repetitions with 178kg when my back suddenly started to hurt real bad with pain radiating down my leg and me being almost unable to bend forward. That sounds bad but I wasn't to alarmed because I already had similar pain like that before that always went away again after some time. So I didn't think to much about it. I still made a doctor's appointment though since I already had a herniated disc when I was 15 and knew what that felt like. Besides that I just wanted to make sure how my back looks and if it's safe to continue training like I did so I asked for an MRI. The pain got better again after a few days but dumb like I am I deadlifted again with heavy weight and the pain returned. The MRI gave me the diagnosis I have now. I already restructured my programming switching heavy low back exercises with more back friendly exercises. I switched conventional to doing sumo deadlifting and I switched PendlayRows with Romanian Deadlifts and machine rows to strengthen my hamstrings and glutes more in order to take the load of my back. I'm also doing back extension with full back rounding with only up to 10kg. I also started doing daily stretches. All of that really seemed to help as my pain is almost completely gone besides some occasional soreness in my back (barely a 1 on the pain scale) after lifting that I'd more or less diagnose as a tight knot in my back though. I haven't talked to an expert yet as I didn't have my appointment yet so my question now would be if I'm ever able to deadlift conventional again as I do want to strengthen my lower back. I just fear that with three degenerative discs the probability of a new herniation is major and I don't want a herniation that leaves me paralyzed. So what do you think?

At this point, I'm pretty much done with Uber unless I get this refund. I didn't even realise I'd been charged till today, almost a week later, but I remember watching the driver on my map.
I watched this waste of space drive 10 minutes to get to me, then skip the last turn when he was only a minute away, and keep driving up the main road.
I originally thought maybe he was just an idiot who couldn't read a map, and I'm a nice guy who doesn't think being stupid is a crime. So I kept waiting, but he had multiple changes to turn right after the first turn he missed, and he kept going.
Eventually, he even drove past the turn that would of taken me to my house, so he'd now needlessly doubled how far he would have to drive to take me home, and kept going.
Eventually he stopped, and didn't move. So I just said screw it, and cancelled, since by now he was more than 5 minutes away, after already waiting 10 minutes for him to get to me, and had no way of knowing if he would drive past the turn again, and make me wait another 5 minutes after that. My new driver was already in the car park, and I was home within 2 minutes, so I thought nothing of it, until today when I saw a trip that ended somewhere I didn't recognise, and realised it was him.
I've been charged over £5 for a trip I never took, which is already bad enough, but when I googled the address, Google Street view showed me a pub!!! And while I've been in a few pubs over the years, I've never been in this one, and I've never gone to the pub at 6 in the afternoon, on a freaking Tuesday!
This absolutely looser decided that while I was waiting to be picked up, he should take a detour to the local pub, and get himself a pint before picking me up, and I only avoided being picked up by an alcoholic drunk driver, because I was watching him on the map the entire time. If I had been distracted, and not noticed him take longer than he was supposed to, he would of probably gone and had a pint, then come pick me up.
BUT! Because I've had a few problems in the past, with drivers coming to pick me up, then parking really far away and expecting me to come looking for them (and I mean parking outside a car park), I've Apprently had all the refunds Uber are willing to give, and can only give this alcoholic a 1 star rating. Which is honestly not much, considering most people either give a 5 star review, or no review.
So yeah, unless I get a reply back from Uber (which is doubtful) I've got to stick to my guns, and not use them anymore.
Which is honestly only a slight inconvenience of having to carry cash again, or use lyft or someone else, but it's still annoying.

Hi everyone. I have 5 off 600x900 porcelain slabs that I wants to use as “stepping stones” up to my front door with decorative stone in between.
Was planning on digging down 100mm for then, chucking some type 1 in and some sharp sand before laying each slab on wet mortar.
Question is about tamping down the type 1. Obviously it’s 5 small areas rather than 1 big area so I don’t want a whacker plate. Any suggestions? If I’m tamping by hand and using something heavy am I better chucking the type 1 down in layers and tamping say 20mm as I go?

I have written the following code and compiled it into an 'exe' file using PyInstaller.

This code is designed to merge all pptx files in the "calculate" folder. It works fine on other computers as I have tested it on 5 different machines. However, I am encountering an error message on just one computer.

I have already removed all security programs from that specific computer, but the issue still persists. Additionally, all computers have the same version of Python and Office 365 installed (including the same version of the pywin library)
The only difference is that the computer experiencing the error is running Windows 11, while the other computers are running Windows 10.
If anyone can provide assistance with this situation, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
