2023.06.03 00:06 lautaromassimino Fixing Netflix "Elite" (season 4-6). [English].
Seasons 1, 2 & 3's rewrite: https://www.reddit.com/EliteNetflix/comments/13yr0za/fixing_netflix_elite_season_13_english/ \***************************************************************************************************************************)
S4. Attempted assassination of Rebeka Bermujo Ăvalos: âA very strict principal and four new students arrive at Las Encinas who attack with love entanglements, serious rumors and a mystery that has just come out of the ovenâ. Season 4 Characters List: - Samuel GarcĂa Dominguez.
- GuzmĂĄn Nunier Osuna.
- Valerio Montesinos Rojas.
- Rebeka Parilla.
- Cayetana Grajera Pando.
- Christian Varela ExpĂłsito (recurrent).
- Nadia Shanaa (guest).
- Felipe RosĂłn Caleruega.
- Patrick Blanco Benavent.
- Ariadna Blanco Benavent.
- MencĂa Blanco Benavent.
- BenjamĂn Blanco.
- Armando de la Ossa.
- This season is probably going to be another one of the longest in terms of changes, as I feel like it was the worst of the six we've had so far, which is a huge mistake given all the big departues we've had in S3. The success of this season was something important because it meant the interest of the old fans for future seasons.
- The mistake of this season, I feel, was using the arrival of the new cast to completely divert the focus of attention from what had been the plot of the story (Marina's murder, which led to Polo's murder). The story of this season should have followed the consequences of Polo's death for our characters, the weight of the pact of silence regarding Lu, and the non-hypersexualized harmony that the first three seasons had between his characters.
- In this sense, it would make both this season and T5 keep the same vibes that they presented to us for season 6, first of all, lowering the morbidity and unnecessary sex scenes that we had since this season, creating more cohesion in the "individuality â of the student uniforms, and creating an environment of more togetherness between characters, rather than many separate stories coming together at the end.
- In addition, from this season several things about the school itself raised in previous seasons seem to have been forgotten just like that:
- Las Encinas is a bilingual school, but we never see another teacher speaking English (French in the English dubbing) again.
- The school competition with the Ivy League prize that Nadia and Lu compete for during the first three seasons is not mentioned again, when it is supposed to be something that is done every single year.
- In addition, from this season almost all the scenes are located almost exclusively inside the school, and we see very little about outdoor scenes, or the private lives of the characters. This is also a serious mistake, since that was what best allowed us to know each other's backgrounds, and create empathy with them.
Season 4 Scoop: Ari, Patrick and MencĂa: - We would find out that they are adopted children of Benjamin: they introduce us to their family in the midst of an experimentation of great anguish, why not add another factor? Also, I feel like it works because none of them look much alike physically, nor do they seem to fully connect with each other (we were led to believe that Patrick and Ari were twins, when their relationship is more toxic than many Elite romantic couples).
- The three of them would enter the third year, that is, a course below the one that Samuel & company are repeating (making Patrick and Ari two years younger than them, and MencĂa three, since they originally tell us that she is one year ahead, together to his siblings).
BenjamĂn Blanco: The father of the new trio, and the new principal of Las Encinas, after Azucena's dismissal. In the middle of the season, we find out that
he is actually Polo's uncle (his late wife was Begoña Benavent's sister).
The compound last name of his children is Blanco Benavent, instead of Blanco Commerford.
- BenjamĂn would have come to Madrid to help his sister-in-law regarding her son's trial, and to try to obtain information about this, by infiltrating the school, since apparently, despite Christian's guilty plea, there does not seem to have been direct evidence implicating him as the killer, beyond the romantic bond the two shared, so police say it's quite possible he'll be released for lack of evidence.
- They tell us that Benjamin asked his three children for "help" to try to find out what really happened with Polo. However, Ari is the only one who accepted his request for help. Patrick and MencĂa try to act as if that doesn't happen. Neither of the three mentions that Polo was their cousin.
- This means that Benjamin and Ari would act as the main antagonists of the season, with the other two siblings being indirect antagonists.
Felipe RosĂłn Caleruega: - Felipe is Carla's (almost unknown) younger brother whom we would have finally met briefly during her graduation the previous season. Apparently, he had spent all those years attending a sister private school of Las Encinas located in Argentina, called Las Cumbres, and when we got to know him properly this season we would discover that it was not his idea to return to live in Madrid, but rather a decision made by his parents. We would later learn that he had actually been expelled from his last school, and that there is something about his past in England that he is trying to keep secret.
- Between the middle of the season it's revealed that Felipe's "dark past" is based on his having anger management problems: a video is revealed in which he is seen together with a group of students attacking another boy. They tell us that there is a heavy complaint against him, and the case is still on trial, and only thanks to the influence of his parents was he able to avoid being arrested.
- It's revealed that he's bisexual, and we're shown that he starts having some kind of secret crush on Patrick, both of them having this whole homoerotic friendship thing.
- This character would become related to the second main plot of this season, which in the future would become the main plot for later seasons:
â â â â
We know that his father, Teodoro RosĂłn, after the end of Season 3 became the sole owner of the old company that he co-directed with Ventura Nunier (GuzmĂĄn's father) who was arrested at the end of S1 for embezzlement towards the School of San Esteban (the school from which Samu, Nadia and Christian received scholarships at the beginning of S1, after its collapse). â â â â
We now learn that Teodoro plans to rebuild a Public School again on top of the ruins of San Esteban, this time by "legal means" to avoid the same fate as Ventura, but still solely for the economic purposes that would result from such construction, and a new scholarship program that this new school would have with Las Encinas. â â â â
During the next season, the construction of this new institution would have finished, and we would have new scholarship recipients in Las Encinas, coming from this new school. This would be part of the "reboot" that the next generation would mean for Elite. - Felipe's character would be a direct reinvention of Philippe von Triesenberg's character, which would mean that said character is completely removed from the series script.
- The reason behind his origin as Carla's younger brother arises to create a kind of instant empathy with him, based on his connection with whom was one of our queens for three years.
Rebeka (not Ari) is the main victim of the season: - One of the biggest misses of the season was making one of the new guys the victim; especially Ari, who among the three, was the one that generated the least empathy in the public. Without changing the original story too much, seeing from the first episode that Rebeka's life is in danger would have aroused much more interest among the entire audience.
- As originally, Rebeka would end up in the hospital because of Armando, after having found out what MencĂa was going through all season, and having confronted him to defend her. It's the same story that Ari had, but in a much more interesting and functional way.
Love triangle Samuel/Ari/GuzmĂĄn: It never happens.
- It was a pretty dire plot that only increased the public's hatred towards Ari for having separated Nadia and GuzmĂĄn, and for being the reason for the loss of all the development that GuzmĂĄn and Samu's relationship had had for three seasons.
- Instead, only Samuel remains her love interest, setting up that possible future "fatheson" connection between him and Benjamin.
- GuzmĂĄn, for his side, would continue to have a long-distance love relationship with Nadia through video calls, and towards the end of the season, she surprises him with a visit to Madrid.
â â â â Samuel and Ari's relationship would not be there just as one more of the season, but would serve as an element for the plot:
Ari would have approached Samuel after learning that he was Christian's close friend (the accused in Polo's murder) to try to obtain information.
However, her feelings towards him would become true over the course of the season, thus seeing a kind of development in her character, which would allow the public to empathize with her. GuzmĂĄn & MencĂa: Both become close friends, based on how much GuzmĂĄn would see Marina in MencĂa
[For those who didn't know, MencĂa was written as a reformulation of Marina's character, adapted to the needs of the new environment with this "new gen"]. As mentioned before,
Philippe's character is eliminated as a new character: his plot was something very delicate that I think was not handled well, and in the future it would be remedied with the entry and development of Isadora's story.
With Philippe gone, Cayetana's as his love interest is eliminated.
- After everything that happened with Polo the previous season, Cayetana is at a point in her life where she is not capable of being in another relationship. Her plot remains only in the way that she wants to change her future and focus on her design career, perhaps having aftermath of everything that happened with Polo, making her start having anxiety attacks (but treating the subject delicately, with her beginning to see a specialist by Rebbe's obligation).
- We would see how Caye tries to seek support from Valerio, because of "Polo's issue" and the connection that Valerio also had with him, but she is frustrated when she realizes that Valerio seems to have coped with all this issue through the use of drugs. Another possible plot for her would be her attempt to help him (parallels to her original attempt to help Philippe).
- Cayetana would be an easy second target for Ari, in her attempt to find information about Polo for her father. However, she would not achieve much due to the gap between them throughout the season.
Patrick + Valerio: - "Replacement" for Ander-Patrick-Omar's idea, without the drama and toxicity that this trio represented. Ander and Omar are gone. Valerio and Patrick? Both are wild partiers with drug-abusing tendencies. Let's match them up and watch them explode and burn, because that would be so much funny.
- Later it could be revealed (or not) that Patrick would have approached Valerio at Ari's request, to try to obtain some information regarding Polo's case, at the insistence of their father.
Christian subplot: - Following the story line proposed at the end of T3, Christian would be in prison for a large part of this fourth season, whether it was due to a nefarious action by the justice system, or by his own plea to defend Lu and "pay" for his silence regarding Marina's death. The scenes with him are based on visits given to him by Samuel, or even perhaps GuzmĂĄn, in prison.
- His permanence this season would be used to generate tension for the public, especially since (as mentioned at the beginning), the police would end up releasing him, due to lack of evidence against him. Let's say they take his statement as a result of the alcohol he drank at the party.
- It is his potential (and definitive) release from prison, which causes the arrival of the Benjamins in Madrid, with Benjamin trying to seek justice for the family of his dead wife.
Valerio's possible death?: - Yes, it would be something tragic. And I'm trying to avoid this whole "one character death per season" thing. But (in a way) it's something that might make sense: Valerio dies of an overdose, "completing circle" in his drug addiction plot, but not forcing murder into the season.
- Yet at the same time it might seem like too much for audiences (since, remember, we would have waited all season to see whether or not we would eventually lose Rebekah, and whether or not Christian would finally get out of prison. Keep them only to lose him, it could be a little too much).
- Whether or not he died, Valerio would leave the school at the end of this season (another viable option for his departure could be, perhaps, by Patrick's action after Valerio's possible overdose, using Benjamin's influence to get him help at a clinic, similar to Christian's original ending, but this time out of Patrick's honest concern for Valerio, and not out of wanting to "get him out of his way").
Armando's fate: - HE IS NOT KILLED BY GUZMĂN. Seriously, how did the writers come up with the idea that the character we met SEEKING JUSTICE FOR THE CRIME AGAINST HIS SISTER would become the new criminal face, not facing the consequences and ending his story with him running away to avoid charges? Just... no!!
- Armando is imprisoned: During the last episode we see MencĂa crying in the hospital, blaming herself for the possibility of losing Rebe because of her. She finally comes clean; Not with her father, not with Ari, not with Patrick... but with GuzmĂĄn. GuzmĂĄn is the only person she trusts enough to admit the truth about Armando. Just at that moment, Rebekah wakes up. The rest is simply a competent action on the part of justice.
GuzmĂĄn drops out of school: At the end of the season, we see how he decides to join Nadia in the US.
- It's reveal that he feels guilty for getting away from everyone, especially because of what he has just discovered about MencĂa. Her âbrotherly instinctâ tells him that he must stay to protect her, but in the end they show us a scene of both saying goodbye to each other in peace, and MencĂa crying, thanking him for having put Armando in jail.
- There would be a farewell scene between him and Samuel, closing their plot as "brothers".
Outcome of Ari-Samuel Subplot, linked to Polo: - At some point near the season finale, Samuel would learn of Ari's and her family's connection to Polo's family, and the real reasons she had reached out to him. He would break up with her right then.
- Ari finally confesses the rest of the story, filling in the puzzle pieces that Samuel was missing. He claims that it hadn't all been fake, not for her: she had really fallen for him.
- As a possible redemption ending for the character, Ari vows not to tell her father about the truth after Polo's death, guided by the love she had come to feel for Samuel.

T5. Murder of Samuel Garcia Dominguez: "Another semester begins in Las Encinas that brings new love triangles, new students, new rules... and a new crime that leaves everyone baffled".
Season 5 Characters List: - Samuel GarcĂa Dominguez.
- Rebeka Parilla.
- Cayetana Grajera Pando.
- Felipe RosĂłn Caleruega.
- Patrick Blanco Benavent.
- Ariadna Blanco Benavent.
- MencĂa Blanco Benavent.
- Isadora Artiñån.
- IvĂĄn Carvalho.
- Cruz Carvalho.
- BenjamĂn Blanco.
Isadora & IvĂĄn's arrival: Elite timeline is confusing because Season 1 is supposed to pertain to an individual school year. Seasons 2 and 3 belong to two semesters of the same year, just like seasons 4 and 5. This would mean that Isadora and IvĂĄn would be entering Las Encinas in the middle of the semester, without any explanation. We could remedy this by giving him a simple explanation that would, incidentally, unite the two of them like the best friends T6 would have us believe they are, when we've barely seen too many interactions between them:
- Isa and IvĂĄn are exchange students: they both already knew each other, since they came from the very same private school in Argentina as Felipe.
- They enter the same course as Patrick, Ari, MencĂa and Felipe, that is: they are also two years younger than Samuel & Co.
Patrick/Ari/Ivan triangle: It never happens. - Let's stop poisoning the Blancos so much. Enough with the whole Ivan/Patrick/Cruz thing.
Love triangle, Patrick-Felipe-IvĂĄn: - Created to compensate for the cuts I made in season 4 with AndePatrick/Omar, with Samuel/Ari/GuzmĂĄn, and this season, with Patrick/Ari/IvĂĄn. The three of them would have a possible temporary dynamic, initiated by Patrick despite the fact that Ivan and Felipe were in the closet at the time.
We would be introduced, in a secondary way, to some of the new characters of season 6 (in a similar way to how S6 gave us a first introduction to Sonia, a character signed as main for T7). Among them:
- Bilal, a student belonging to the new public school built by Teo RosĂłn on the foundations of the old San Esteban.
- DĂdac, being seen close to Javier, as one of the JavieHugo/Alex group. He does not participate in the attack on Isadora at the end of the season.
- Nico, having already transitioned, but still not getting the document from him officially identifying him as a man. It is said that his d-name is Nicole (although everyone already calls him Nico). We saw one or two scenes of him close to Isadora and MencĂa, before his official presentation in T6.
- RocĂo may be another of the people close to the girls, perhaps as a new waitress at the Club del Lago, where she would meet Bilal. In the following season it could be explained that the reason for having been working at the Club was that her father had canceled her credit cards.
Graduation: Samuel and Rebeka officially graduate from Las Encinas, similar to what we saw for the rest of the characters in S3 (but without Valerio and GuzmĂĄn, as both would have dropped out in S4).
Samuel death: It would still happen, and it would still be at the hands of
Benjamin. However, the reasons could turn out to be different:
- Ari would have started to move away from her father this season, after the last scene we would have had of her and Samu at the end of S4. She would refuse to continue investigating her classmates and friends for him.
- She and Samu would have ended up the previous season, but they would still somehow not let go of each other. Benjamin realizes this, and begins to suspect that Samuel has something to do with Ari's refusal to want to continue helping him.
- Benjamin would begin to suspect that Samuel had "washed her mind" to Ari to leave the Polo case aside because he himself had been involved, in some way, following the fact of his closeness with Christian, and that he would discover that Samu had been visiting him in prison the previous semester. BenjamĂn would had been blackmailing Samu for the past few months to give him information about it. Samuel would not have opened his mouth (remember, in S3 a pact of silence was made to protect Lucrecia).
- In a final fit of rage trying to make him confess, Benjamin ends up pushing him into the pool, where Samu hits his head on the edge, bleeding to death.
\***************************************************************************************************************************)
T6. Ivan's accident, and subsequent coma: âAfter the death of a student, Las Encinas faces a new school year trying to have an image wash by covering up past disasters. The students try to achieve their goals, but will they all reach their goal alive?
Season 6 Characters List: - Felipe RosĂłn Caleruega.
- Patrick Blanco Benavent.
- Ariadna Blanco Benavent.
- MencĂa Blanco Benavent.
- Isadora Artiñån.
- IvĂĄn Carvalho.
- NicolĂĄs âNicoâ Fernandez.
- DĂdac.
- Sara.
- RocĂo.
- RaĂșl.
- Cruz Carvalho.
The season begins three months after the murder of Samuel and the imprisonment of BenjamĂn Blanco.
- Rebeka graduated from Las Encinas and left Madrid. Also Caye is gone.
- The three Benjamins + Felipe, Isadora & IvĂĄn are beginning their last year at Las Encinas. DĂdac and Sara are also in the same course as them.
- It would be implied that Nico and RocĂo are a junior class.
The events of season 6 happen in a very similar way to what we originally saw, since that season was thought of as a reboot of the show, and it returned to recover all the vibes of the first generation. As I mentioned in the S4 section, at this point the sexual morbidity of the show was greatly reduced, and at all times there was a great feeling of togetherness, even with the new characters (something that, I dare say, we had never had before in Elite, not even with the original gen).
Isadora's plot: - This story remains largely the same, finally getting the justice she had been seeking since the previous season.
- The only thing that would change in this plot is the part of "justice into one's own hand" (referring to the chemical sterilization of heraggressors). And let's see, I UNDERSTAND why, her context of "justice failed me", but I feel that at the script level, the message of the series of "an eye for an eye / fire with fire" is very wrong, ESPECIALLY if at the end she was going to have that closure of justice that the plot and the character deserve.
Cruz Calvalho's plot: the hate crime plot against Cruz is also removed⊠- I understand that it's a key point in the Season, and honestly when I saw it I did "like it", although I felt a lot of helplessness and pity. But really, Cruz was a character who was SUPER promising for the future, a publicly gay professional footballer? Even today, with all the acceptance that exists, the number of players openly belonging to the LGBTIQ+ community can seriously be counted on the fingers of one hand.
- Cruz's public coming out could mean so many things publicly, and it was going to break an entire status quo⊠and they just made him die for a hate crime because he is who he is.
- I know that it tries to represent the reality in which we are living, BUT, in the show, the real reason for his death is based on causing a rupture between Patrick and IvĂĄn's relationship⊠so there THAT is my problem: Cruz exposes himself because he knew that IvĂĄn and Patrick had something special, that Patrick was important to his son. So simply killing him to make those characters break up? For what, what use would it all have been? NopeâŠjust not.
Relationships of the season, without too many changes: - Patrick and IvĂĄn (without the breakup or the toxicity that they originally carried this season): Let's say they had a fight at the end of S6 for x reasons, which did make IvĂĄn tell Patrick that he didn't want to see him again. This being Patrick's reason for leaving him while he was in the hospital.
- Isadora and DĂdac: Without too many changes. Both belong to two families in charge of hotels, which are competitors in Spain. A possible Romeo & Juliet style posed for S7.
- RocĂo and Bilal: Same plot, with him approaching her for the sole reason of getting a benefit from her (for her money).
- Ari and Nico. Same plot.
- Raul and Sara. Same plot.
We would still have the departure of the Blanco siblings for the end, but this time, it would
NOT be having "reconciled" with their father.
- Ari would eventually testify AGAINST him, for Samuel's crime.
- They had come to Las Encinas in search of information about Polo, but only at the request of his father. It was not something that interested them, and they had nothing to continue doing there. In addition, there was the MencĂa "thing" with IvĂĄn's accidentâŠ
- For the first time we would see Ari in the position of a true big sister, taking action to protect her family (as we originally saw). As a symbolic way of Ari's detachment from her father, we see her refusing to be called that way again, since "Ari" was her father's nickname for her. From that day on, she would be Ariadna⊠not Ariadna Blanco, but with her mother last name... Ariadna Benavent.
Knowing that IvĂĄn's character is still signed for S7 (unlike Patrick; this is confirmed by Manu's absence at the beginning of the season recordings), we could achieve a fitting ending for this couple by using a Short Story between Seasons 6 and 7.
\***************************************************************************************************************************)
Anddddddd here it is! My take for a rewrite of this show, which I feel started at the top of everything and gradually went down in quality, although it still has a lot of potential. I'm proud of how all six seasons turned out as a whole, though I still feel like these last three seasons feel a bit incomplete compared to the first ones. So what do you guys think? Would you add or take away something that I added? Did you like the changes? I'm new here, and this is my first real post on reddit, so I'd really appreciate your feedback ^-^ submitted by

2023.06.03 00:04 Sudden-Train7163 Should I go no contact with my family
Sorry for any format issues on mobile. Throwaway account. So I have a family that was very abusive to me before I moved out. I didn't have stable housing for a while as my father keeps kicking me out as well as a mother who would nit stop him when he would put hands on me. My father has not laid hands on me since I was 16 I'm 24 now. He stole 70k from my college fund and refuses to pay me back. I moved out and our relationship got a lot better. However I'm growing more and more tired of my family not just my parents either. A week before my wedding I received a phone call from my sister in which she claimed her husband was joking with her about not wanting to come to my wedding to which I replied he does not need to come if that's how he feels and she claimed she was messing with me but it's a weird way to mess with me. Now me and her husband have never gotten along but I thought our relationship was improving however I recently realized he's been making a lot of nasty comments about me behind my back and even did so to my best friend at my wedding. Additionally I asked my father not to speak at my wedding and he ambushed me with a speech anyway afteri told me no less than 20 times I didn't want that and when confronted with rhe fact I didn't want this speech he told me I was over reacting as it was a toast but I really don't see the difference. Him and my mother attempted to lecture me in front of my in laws over a joke a made that was clearly a joke. And my father yelled at me on my wedding day for making funny faces at my husband and told me I needed to behave. He also spent the entire evening talking about my sister and brother in law and I truly didn't feel like he even cared it was my wedding. All My friends said he was rude and dismissive to them when he spoke with them. And I have spoken with him about his behavior and how he makes me feel multiple times and nothing changes he can't take accountability for his actions should I just give up and cut my losses and contact at this point? Unfortunately he pays for my college should I suck it up till I'm out of college or stop talking to him now? TLDR: My family has been real jersey to me and I think no contact is my best option

2023.06.03 00:03 Le_re11 Letâs talk about Kyle Spencer and Covenâs bad representation of male abuse
Obvious trigger warning for male sexual abuse as well as a brief mention of Madisonâs assault. I will warn you, this does get quite heated and angry but itâs something that genuinely upsets me and thought I would share it.
Itâs revealed early on that Kyle has been sexually abused by his mother for presumably a large portion of his life (âI know your body, Kyle. I know itâ & âIâve been possessive, I know that. I never meant for it to go on for so longâ). I donât understand why this was necessary. It added nothing to the plot and, besides a moment where Kyle freaks out in the bathtub with Misty, it adds nothing to his character. I just donât think that something as serious as sexual abuse from a parent should be used as pure shock value and have no contribution to the overall story. Kyle doesnât even get the opportunity to explain or communicate across what was happening and why he killed his mother. If the abuse âplotâ had any sort of relevance past the episode it is introduced in then maybe I could be more lenient with it but besides the bathtub and a brief sad facial expression from Evan itâs non-existent. By the end of the season itâs easy to forget that Kyleâs mother was doing that to him.
Anyway, moving on from that. Later on in the season Kyle becomes involved in a love triangle with Zoe and Madison where Kyle is further used as a sex object as opposed to an actual human being. Kyle is emotionally vulnerable, unaware of what is happening around him and practically has the mentality of a young child (look at how excited he gets about a dog and the headphones and how easily frustrated he gets when he canât speak/communicate properly). He can barely comprehend who he or anyone else is and his body is being used in such an inappropriate manner.
I donât know how it is to other people but Kyleâs treatment from both Madison and Zoe disgusts me, especially Zoe. She knows how disassociated Kyle is, sheâs literally been teaching him how to speak again, but still goes along with the plan to use him as a sex toy as opposed to the human being he really is. I understand that Madison and Zoe did not know about the abuse Kyle endured from his mother but even without that knowledge they should have known how the way they were using Kyle was basically abuse. Madison literally trained Kyle to have a threesome with her and Zoe. Kyle canât even form a sentence and his body is already being used as a source for other peopleâs pleasure. He did not have the mental capability to consent. Madison faced her own traumatic sexual abuse, youâd think she would have been able to recognise when someone wasnât able to consent.
And the thing is, the show doesnât acknowledge that what is happening to Kyle is abuse. Kyleâs whole character is essentially just a plot device to cause drama between Zoe and Madison and itâs frustrating that they have to subject him to even more sexual abuse after his mother to do so. If they were so desperate to use Kyle for a love triangle then it would have been more appropriate for them to have him at least be more mentally aware of himself and his surroundings. But then again, if they did that then it wouldnât have been as dramatic and they wouldnât have been able to have scenes of a completely unaware and vulnerable Kyle be physically manipulated into inviting Zoe for a threesome or going in for a kiss or touch when he sees Zoe or Madison because thatâs how he now perceives affection and communication to be.
Also, I think it should be noted how gross it is that they stitch Kyle back together again with body parts of his dead frat brothers. The whole idea of making the âperfect boyfriendâ is disgusting and just shows how Kyleâs body is even further sexualised as the idea of reviving him comes from making him physically the perfect guy as opposed to just Kyle himself.
So yeah, Kyle was a character who was grossly mistreated in Coven. He faced sexual abuse from multiple different women and the show refuses to acknowledge that some of these cases are in fact abuse. Coven is renowned for being a âgirl powerâ season and itâs just frustrating that in order for them to represent this they have to subject Kyle to abuse to show âfemale empowermentâ. (And for Kyle to end the season as a fucking butler for the coven after we hear about him wanting to be an engineer to help the poor is awful.)

2023.06.03 00:01 Appropriate-Tie-2585 Redgis father is the real bad guy
Every once in a while I come here to see if someone agrees but no one ever posts about this. I think there is something darker about Regis dad, it always seemed weird to my that the frogs incursion does not seem like a normal kingdom on kingdom act of agression, because they ocupied 0 land, once you dispatch the remnants of the attack there no more frogs. They basically came in, killed the old man, broke stuff, kidnaped his sons and bounced. This seems more like a personal vendeta than am act of war. There is also the fact that the big berserker like toads always seem to have crazy hollowed out eyes and Green wart actually seems to sniff/ingest something before he goes berserk. There is also the fact that the hidden room at the end looks like an alchemist lab and what do you know, there is a giant berserk frog there as well. I think Redgi's was working on some kind of drug or potion that would increase the users strength, the secret room was his lab, and he had been taking toads and was actually experimenting on them, and disposing of the bodies in the crypts (that's why there are zombie frogs in there too). The frogs attack was an act of revenge hence the kidnapings (eye for an eye kind of thing), and they ended up finding and stealing the super strength serum Redgi's dad was working on. As a bonus to my conspiracy theory: Redgis dad somehow gave a more controled but permanent version to his brothers, that's why they are much bigger than any other rat you come across.

2023.06.03 00:01 ralo_ramone An Otherworldly Scholar [LitRPG, Isekai] - Chapter 9
On todayâs episode of âThings I never thought would happen to meâ, two human-snake hybrids with long snouts and colorful scales cried in my arms. Despite the unsettling texture of their scales, I instinctively hugged them in a vain attempt to comfort them. It took me half a minute to process what was happening.
Elincia worked at an orphanage.
[Awareness]: Of course she does. I ignored the System prompt and focused on the kids crying against my chest. Elincia seemed to be too busy dealing with the seven or eight bawling kids at the same time.
âWhat happened, sweetie?â I asked, trying to sound reassuring.
The snake girl with shining blue and white scales tried to hold back the tears, and she made it for a brief second, but then she wrapped her arms around my neck and burst into tears again. By the way she trembled, I could tell she was scared.
âHey, hey. It's okay. Elincia is already here. There is nothing to worry about.â I said, softly patting her back.
My words, as I should have expected, caused the kids to cry even harder. This wasnât my first rodeo with teary small kids, however, it was my first time holding two snake-human hybrids. I wonder what had happened for the kids to be this distressed, a quick inspection told me they werenât hurt.
The door opened again and a thin elven kid with fair blonde hair and dark circles around his eyes appeared in the doorway. Just as the rest of the orphans, he was dressed with well-worn oversized clothes. The elven kid was older than the rest of the kids but couldnât be more than twelve or thirteen years old.
I wondered if he was Elinciaâs kid but I quickly discarded that theory, there was no trace of human blood in his appearance. The boy seemed to be a pureblood elf.
âWhatâs happening, Zaon?â Elincia asked over the generalized bawling and I noticed a trembling in her voice, as if she was also about to burst into tears.
The elven kid walked down the flight of stairs and raised his voice to be heard over the generalized bawling.
âM-m-mister Holst left the orphanage f-five days ago. Ilya and I tried to keep things under control but the small ones were nervous without you around. They thought you were going to be gone forever.â Zaon stuttered.
My heart clenched at hearing the kids had been on their own for a whole week. I understood now why the small ones were so scared. Elinciaâs angered voice caught my attention.
âMister Holst did what?!â Elincia exclaimed and the weeping sound of the kids suddenly died, leaving an awkward silence behind.
âMister Holst had an imp-p-portant Class breakthrough so he left the orphanage to go to the imperial capital. That was five days ago.â Zaon repeated, stuttering the same syllables. âWe took care of the cooking and the bedtime of the small ones. I couldnât get them to shower, Iâm sorry.â
My heart shrunk even further.
âYou did well, Zaon. Please take the kids inside, I need to talk to Elincia for a moment.â I said, gently putting the snake-children down. âWeâll be joining you in a moment.â I added seeing the kids didnât let Elincia go.
Zaon nodded and led the way followed by a dozen reluctant small kids who casted anxious glances at Elincia as they entered the manor. After a moment, we were left alone in the front yard.
âIâm going to fucking kill him, that weasel.â Elincia turned around and walked towards the iron gate.
I grabbed her wrist, she tugged but I didnât let go.
Elinciaâs face was red from anger and her knuckles turned white as she clenched her fists. She had done well hiding her anger from the kids. Adult problems should be dealt with by adults.
âI shouldâve known something like this was going to happen. Iâm so stupid for trusting Holst.â Elincia covered her face with both hands.
âWhoâs Holst?â
âHolst is a Scholar who comes to the orphanage a couple times a week to teach the kids. He had a temper but I thought learning under the guidance of a high level Scholar would help the kids.â Elincia replied. âI was so blind. Of course he didn't care about the kids, he was just cultivating his class!â
I understood the general contempt Elincia showed towards the Scholar class now. Holst sounded like a despicable person.
âThe kids are safe and thatâs what matters the most.â I said, grabbing Elincia by the shoulders and forcing her to look at me. âYou should be proud of yourself, Elincia, your kids faced an emergency and managed to get by. You raised them well.â
Elincia dropped her shoulders and took a deep breath with her eyes closed. When she opened her eyes again, she seemed to have regained her composure.
âYou are right⊠but that doesnât mean Iâm not going to kill Holst if he puts a foot in this orphanage ever again.â She grinned with a wicked smile and I knew she was being serious.
âIâll lend you my shotgun if you donât mind cleaning up the aftermath.â I grinned back.
âGross. I love it.â Elincia laughed, leaving behind the bad feelings and walking to the entrance of the manor. She signaled to follow her. âWelcome to Lowellâs Orphanage. You should call me Miss Elincia while the kids are around.â
I followed her.
The reception room was a spacious area with faded white walls and a tall ceiling, adorned solely with an old couch and a couple of worn out chairs. Square areas of less weathered white paint on the walls showed the places where old paintings had hung long ago. On the opposing wall, a great window overlooked the inner courtyard. I caught a glimpse of a small farm plot, a well, and a small groove.
The whole manor seemed to have seen better days but it felt cozy and welcoming.
âThis is our home. And these orphaned children are my family.â Elincia said with a mix of pride and embarrassment. She opened her arms in a gesture that encompassed the entire room.
We left the receiving room behind and Elincia led me to the west wing of the manor into a corridor filled with sunlight. To the right there was the backyard and to the left a row of closed doors. Behind the only open door there was a classroom with rows of small worn-out desks lined up facing a worn-out chalkboard. Over each desk there was an old small wax tablet with their respective styluses.
âThat is our schoolroom. It ainât much but itâs quite handy during cold and rainy days. I try to teach the kids to read and write before they leave the orphanage.â Elincia said as she caught me looking inside.
My brain connected the dots and a sense of sadness got a sudden hold on me.
The Kingdom was at war and those who served as fodder were the least fortunate ones. I wondered how many of Elinciaâs orphans ended up in the kingâs army fighting in the Farlands to never come back home. But my sadness wasnât solely aimed at the orphans, Elincia was rowing against a storm in a ship that was sailing to nowhere.
âIt looks cozy.â I said.
We turned at the corner and found the harpy girl with the white pillowcase dress slowly walking down the corridor. The wooden floor clacked as she tried to catch up with the rest of the orphans but her talons were too big for her small body, making her steps slow and clumsy. She was more than ten meters behind but seemed unfazed by the matter.
The diminutive harpy saw us walking in her direction and stopped. It was my first time seeing a harpy. Her face was human but a pair of wings covered by golden feathers protruded from her pillowcase dress. She waited patiently for us, blocking the path.
âI havenât peed myself in five days.â The harpy girl proudly declared, putting her hands on her hips and adopting a defiant pose I had seen in Elincia before.
âShu, you donât justâŠâ Elincia looked at me, horrified, and I couldnât help but let out a small laugh.
I squatted to Shuâs height and smiled. âYou were so brave! Iâm sure Miss Rosebud is happy to hear that.â
The harpy girl chuckled.
âYou used the forbidden word. You are going to get scolded by Miss Elincia.â Shu hid her face beneath a wing. Before I could say anything else, Elincia grabbed her by the armpits and lifted her, interrupting our conversation.
Was âRosebudâ a forbidden word?
âIâm going to prepare something to eat for the kids, you can wait in the classroom. Iâm going to send Zaon over with a water basin.â Elincia said before Shu could add any extra outrageous comment.
Elincia and Shu followed the rest of the orphans and I came back to the classroom. Once alone, I punched the wall with full force, provoking a throbbing pain in my hand. My sadness had turned into anger. Holst was lucky to be away from Farcrest, otherwise I would be tempted to use one of my two remaining shells on him. I didnât have a drop of sympathy for people who abandoned children.
I entertained myself with macabre fantasies until the left door opened again and Zaon entered the room carrying a large water basin.
âMiss Elincia says you can use her study to wash up. Then you can throw the water to the plants under the window.â Zaon said as he walked back to the corridor.
I followed him until we reached a closed door just by the corner of the corridor.
âThis is the living quarters. The small kids sleep in the common room. We, the older ones, have our own rooms.â Zaon explained pointing with the head at the doors further down the living quarters. âThis is Miss Elinciaâs study.â
As I stepped into Elinciaâs study, a floral smell filled my nostrils. The air was thick, as if I had walked into a greenhouse and I couldnât help but take a deep breath, enjoying the fragrance.
The room was immaculately tiddy. A large bookshelf covered one of the walls and a wide writing desk was situated just under the window. A shabby bed was tucked in a corner with a knitted quilt neatly folded at the foot. On the night table there was a flower vase and a small diary.
[Awareness]: You have entered the forbidden dungeon: Elinciaâs Bedroom. The prompt made me stop dead in my tracks but no hidden traps were triggered by my presence.
The lack of knives and hunting trophies hanging from the walls made me think this belonged to the Governess and not the adventure junkie I had met in the woods. A sense of serenity emanated from the room and I understood that, for the orphans, this was a place of peace and safety.
Zaon put the water basin in the corner over a dresser and rummaged through the deskâs drawer. He pulled out a pearlescent soap bar, a threadbare towel, and a change of men's clothes from the chest at the foot of the bed. I wondered who the previous owner was.
âThank you, Zaon.â I thanked the kid as I sat in a small stool by the water basin and washed my hands and forearms. I had a hundred questions to ask him but I didnât want to entertain him, Elincia probably needed Zaonâs help to deal with the smaller kids.
Zaon nodded and looked at me with curiosity.
âSpeak your mind.â I said, realizing I wasnât going to get privacy until I answered some questions.
Zaon was startled for a moment but he quickly made up his mind.
âC-c-can I? Really? Who are you? Your accent is strange.â He inquired.
âI am Robert Clarke, a Scholar from a faraway land.â I introduced myself, wondering how much information I should disclose to the kids. Or how much information I could get from them. âI met Miss Rosebud in the Farlands and tagged along on the way back here.â
âAre you here to replace Mister Holst⊠sir?â Zaon got tangled up in his words, unable to figure out the right amount of deference required to address me. I smiled, trying to seem reassuring.
âThis is my first time here in Farcrest so I have to meet the Marquis first. I donât even know if I could stay.â I replied, deciding to tell Zaon the truth. âMiss Rosebud told me about the Imperial Library, so Iâm tempted to go to the capital to cultivate my class.â
The kid nodded in awe. For someone from a backwater town like Farcrest, the imperial capital must be a place of wonder and mystery.
âMiss Elincia doesnât like to be called that.â Zaon pointed out.
âRosebud?â
âYes.â
âI think it's a charming name.â I shrugged my shoulders thinking it was too much of a cute name for someone as tough as Elincia.
I waited for a moment, expecting a sassy System prompt to slap me on the face but none appeared. Good. The last thing I needed was more titles about my politically incorrect thoughts. Zaon looked around, as if there were spies somewhere between the walls, before continuing talking.
âI think that too, sir. A truly charming elven name.â Zaon muttered full of pride but suddenly he seemed to realize he had overextended his stay. âIâm not taking more of your time, sir.â He politely added as he left the room at a quick pace.
Finding the key inside the hole, I locked the door before taking my shirt off, and started scrubbing my body. The soap was the size of a small stack of coins and it didnât produce much foam but it was more than enough after all those days trekking through the Farlands. It felt good to be clean once again. My old shirt was ruined after my adventure in the forest so the new one felt nice even if it was a bit oversized and the fabric coarser.
When I was finished, I opened the window and discarded the dirty water on the clump of bushes and flowers that adorned the mansionâs exterior. Then I unlocked the door and returned to the classroom feeling like a new man.
As I was sitting in the classroom, I saw a group of kids spying on me from the corridorâs windows. I acted like I hadn't seen them. Instead, I let them quench their curiosity while I mindlessly drew doodles on a wax tablet. Zaon probably already informed the rest of the orphans about my identity.
âHere you are.â Elincia said with a tired voice as she stood on the doorway. She carried a tray with a wooden bowl filled with steamy soup. âScared of being alone in a girlâs bedroom?â
I was about to make a snarky remark when I remembered the kids spying on us. Elincia seemed to notice too because she quickly added. âShall we discuss our deal in my study?â
I followed Elincia into her bedroom and she invited me to sit at the timeworn desk. Then, she handed me a bowl of soup and a piece of old bread. The soup had a few pieces of vegetables floating on the surface similar to carrots and potatoes. I did what any logical person wouldâve done.
Elinciaâs Vegetable Soup. [Identify] Edible. A watery, bland, and unseasoned soup made from various donated ingredients. Itâs warm. Luckily enough, Elincia didnât realize I was using [Identify] on her soup. I put the spoon in my mouth. The flavor was indeed watery and bland but it was the first warm food I had since I arrived in this world, and it felt great. As I dipped the bread into the soup, Elincia untied her padded jacket, revealing a white blouse and a washed out light blue bodice that adhered to her figure.
I wasnât completely ready for some Renaissance Fair action but I managed to keep my eyes glued to the bowl of soup. Elincia stretched her back and rotated her shoulders with feline grace before settling on the chair.
âYou look good disguised as a governess, I almost bought it.â I said, fighting to keep my eyes away from Elinciaâs delicate yet strong shoulders. If I didnât know better, I would swear Elincia had a twin sister that looked after the orphanage while she explored the Farlands.
Elincia looked around as if there were spies in the walls before replying.
âFuck off, Robert Clarke.â The woman whispered, rolling her eyes. âAnd thank you for helping me with the kids. You navigated the situation pretty well.â She added in an almost shy tone.
âDidnât I say I was a teaching focused Scholar?â I replied with a smug voice.
âYeah, I remember hearing an excuse like that for your lack of level.â Elincia grinned. âNow, show me the goods, I have a sick kid waiting for a potion.â
I brought my backpack I had left forgotten in the corner and started lining the bundles of herbs and roots over Elinciaâs working desk.
âWhen you told me you had a sick kid I thought you meant your son or daughter.â I pointed out.
âYeah, no. I already have enough kids around.â Elincia laughed as her eyes greedily pried over my alchemical loot.
I wondered if one of her skills allowed her to measure the herbâs magic concentration. Something like [Identify] but for Alchemists.
âNot to mention Iâd need a man for that. A good one for that matter.â Elincia added.
âYou don't have an army of volunteers lining up at the orphanageâs doors?â I jokingly asked. With her looks, she could have a fan club following her everywhere back on Earth.
Suddenly, Elincia forgot about the ingredients and locked her eyes with mine.
âOh? Mister Scholar is interested in my relationship status now?â She gave me the biggest shit-eating grin I had seen in my life. And that was a lot to say considering Elinciaâs mischievous personality.
âDream on.â I quickly replied. Elinciaâs big mouth made it difficult to feel bad for her.

2023.06.02 23:59 CazOnReddit Alright, Let's Talk About the 3rd Pick & a Potential Siakam Trade With Portland
| So have you heard that the Blazers are looking to shop around the 3rd pick and Anfernee Simons for a star forward? Yeah, let's finally get into this. The Blazers lucked themselves into a rather unique position, both with the pick they got - having jumped from 5th to 3rd in the draft - and with the team who managed to get the 2nd pick being the Charlotte Hornets who are likely to draft forward Brandon Miller over G League Ignite guard Scoot Henderson, with Scoot seemingly falling to 3. This would make Scoot the 2nd young guard the Blazers recently drafted and their 3rd under 25 guard to play next to Dame...if they weren't trying to shop the pick around. They have a perfect opportunity to finally do a rebuild...and yet, here we are with yet another rumor about the Blazers trying to build around Dame and get him the help they've left him without for...what, 8 seasons and counting? Like the Rockets who are alleged to be interested in moving the 4th pick, I don't think the Blazers really should be trying to do a two timelines, pseudo rebuild while contending around Lillard. I also don't think the package they can put together is as great as it's often hyped up to be. As we'll get into, a package around Anfernee and the 3rd pick plus a player or pick or two is quite decent in a vacuum but it certainly isn't good enough to get to get you that Top 10-15 player in the league who can singlehandedly win you a series - if not, a championship. It certainly isn't enough to outbid the likes of the Jazz or, more significantly, the Thunder who may opt for a splash in the offseason as their core develops into a young, hungry playoff team with some greater veteran presence around them. I'm just going to say it: If Portland really is saying "time's up" and putting together one last effort to compete against Dame, they need to do more than get Siakam, O.G., Karl-Anthony Towns or whichever star's name pops up in rumors leading up to the draft. Not to say those players won't improve the team, but none of them - and yes i'm including Siakam - are good enough to elevate a former lottery team like the Blazers over the past 2 seasons to a Top 3 seed, let alone guarantee a championship. A duo of Siakam and Dame, Dame and KAT, etc. can be part of one's core championship team but they need the right supporting pieces around them in order to win. To put it mildly, the Blazers...do not have that. Jusuf Nurkic has seen significant regression as a defender and the bench is one of the few to make the Raptors bench look like a bastion of basketball greatness. It shows on the floor and statistically, and it's a large reason why the Blazers have been one of the worst defensive teams in the league over the past, one of the worst when it comes to rebounding and in general being near the bottom of the Western Conference before they pulled the plug on their most recent season in an attempt to tank for a Top 4 pick. If the Blazers are actually going to commit to Dame, they need to engage in a paradigm shift this offseason. Rework the starting 5, the bench and go all-in getting Loyalty McLoyal the team he should have had around him for years instead of endlessly running it back with minor tweaks to who his #2 is. That means either getting your pick back from the Bulls and shopping the 4 firsts/3 swaps you can or removing the protections and dealing out the 3/3 you would have to improve the roster. Don't just get Siakam, KAT or whoever and set them up to fail with Damian because it's not fair to either player to put them in that situation. Go after Buddy Hield, see if Myles Turner or Clint Capela are going to be available, or if the Wolves are desperate enough to sign and trade Naz Reid to recoup some assets after the costly Gobert trade - if not, try signing him with the full MLE. And you don't stop there! However they plan to shake up the roster in this hypothetical scenario, they need to significantly improve the center position/rotation and their bench to give Dame an actual chance of winning a ring with what few years left they have in his prime. Also fire Chauncey Billups, he's a bottom 3 coach and the only reason I can't say he is not the worst is because I can't say the Raptors coach will be objectively worse/better without knowing who will head either team. He isn't 3rd, that's for sure. But anyway that's the Blazers prerogative. What exactly could the Raptors see in a potential pick that, presumably, revolves around Pascal Siakam? Since I can be a bit of a wordy writer, i'm going to add some TL;DR sections for each playepick discussed in this little piece for those that want a quick breakdown. Note: This is not a trade proposal; this is a compilation of the assets and players who could be included in a trade for Pascal Siakam. Additionally, this is not an endorsement of trading Pascal Siakam, etc. in a deal with the Portland Trailblazers. Anfernee Simons https://preview.redd.it/eon5unll7d3b1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=2873b3d89092d0e0c221ee9817335918489f2e7e The main player who's been the subject of a contentious discussion between Blazers fans and Raptors fans. Whether you think he's overrated, underrated or somewhere inbetween, it is undeniable that Anfernee Simons would have to be included in the trade at minimum. I can't speak for the Blazers and I won't pretend to speak for all Raptors fans so let me just say this: I like Anfernee Simons. He's one of the more exciting players in the league under 25 even if he doesn't have the same ceiling as a guy like Zion or fellow player nicknamed "Ant" Anthony Edwards. A borderline All-Star guard with a combination of shooting prowess and explosiveness, he had a breakout season in 2021/22 when Dame went down due to an injury and thus became the Blazers lead point guard in his absence. He's a genuine 3-level scorer who can splash from outside, pressure the rim for a high-flying dunk and he's effective in the midrange too. If nothing else, it cannot be overstated how nice it would be for this team to have another player who's a reliable, 38.7% from 3 volume shooter on a roster so thoroughly lacking in outside shooting And before you say it, yes, Anfernee Simons is a point guard. This isn't a case like CJ where his skillset is that of a 2 who can do some playmaking but shouldn't run your offense, Simons does have some issues with dribbling the air out of the ball before making a pass, but he is a point guard. He isn't a typical point, operating more as a shoot-first point like Lillard, but he's still capable of cracking out a notable number of assists while getting buckets; he dished out 6 dimes a game with nearly 28 points in the games he's played without Dame as the lead point. All 11 of them last year. https://preview.redd.it/nwhosg3d8d3b1.png?width=1945&format=png&auto=webp&s=8d01cd6a71d032cf5e3bab941c00fc942148991c Yeah, you might have seen some posts or stats online of what Simons has done without Damian Lillard; in his breakout season of 2021/22, the Anferno was putting up a similar number of assists and cracked 20 points per game, albeit over a more significant sample size of 30 games. And in 2022/23, Anfernee Simons put up 27.9/2.9/5.7 (2.4 turnovers so an AST/TO of 2.38:1 which is solid) while shooting a staggering 41% from 3 on 11 3s. Those numbers are impressive in a vacuum; his true shooting of 62% is especially notable. However, they require some context and should be taken with an enormous grain of salt. For one, it's a very small sample size over a lengthy period of the season where teams haven't had to plan for Simons to be the main guard to focus their defense on. He's still the 2nd option so it's not like there's no film watching or the like, but if Anfernee Simons permanently becomes the lead point guard of a team, opposing teams will gameplan around him and his weaknesses more significantly than the very few times where he's asked to be the lead ballhandler in Dame's absence. His 2021/22 stats, while still a limited overall sample size, do suggest he'll be able to dish out a similar number of dimes as the lead guard (Dame had been ruled out due to injury during the season so teams did have to gameplan around the Ant for a large portion of the season instead of a handful of games scattered throughout the season) and he still has room to grow as a playmaker but once again, it was only a sample size of 30 games so it is hard to draw much out from the games he played. Speaking of drawing conclusions from said sample size: Yes the Blazers went 4-7 within that 11 game sample size - and bear in mind this sample included games where the Blazers were still trying to contend while facing a variety of teams i.e. not every team was a playoff or contender. That isn't great, however, Ant was generally not the main reason they lost since the 2022/23 Blazers as a whole were pretty terrible all year, even before they blatantly tanked. The same is also true of his breakout year when the Blazers lost Lillard due to injury, they just weren't a good team. If there is a point of contention around Simons that one can draw from his past 2 seasons, it's his defense which...it's bad. It's really bad. He's improved this season on that end to the point where i'd say he's a better defender than Dame - even if his overall defensive rating doesn't support this, the eye test does - but that's like saying Spencer Dinwiddie is a better defender than Trae Young. While Chauncey Billups hasn't been doing either one of Portland's guard any favors, it doesn't change the fact that being better than one of the worst defenders in the league is not an accomplishment to be proud of. All coaching issues aside, Simons is still a notable negative on that end of the floor. He has a propensity for losing his man via ball watching, he's not great at closing out on the perimeter and he's not a lane disruptor by any means. It's not impossible for him to improve as a defender - he's 6'3 with a 6'9 wingspan and much of his defensive weaknesses come from a lack of discipline - but as of right now when his shots aren't falling he's a major liability on the court and his flaws on defense were not well hidden when paired next to another notably poor defender in Dame. There are a couple of other habits that Simons needs to address - he could stand to be less trigger happy as a scorer and work more on his playmaking given all the promise he's shown in that area - but that's the main issue with Simons. He's a very skilled guard with a similar approach to the game as Dame on both ends of the floor. And we all know Dame isn't locking down the opposing team's point. Does Anfernee Simons seem like he'll become a guard on the level of Dame? No but that's a ridiculously high bar to hold him to, especially with the limited opportunities he had and will continue to have when he's behind Dame in the guard pecking order. Anfernee is a good player who often shows glimmers of true greatness on offense but whose defense (or lack thereof) is going to require very careful teambuilding to limit exploiting said defense in the playoffs. Perhaps he'll need to be the full-time point to fully achieve his potential as a playmaker but while he doesn't scream All-NBA caliber, he's someone you can easily see eking out a couple of All-Star nods at his peak and is, at worst, a staring-caliber guard. As for whether he can be the lead of a championship contender...we'll get to that when we talk about the pick he'd come with. TL;DR - Anfernee Simons is an intriguing young player with upside as an explosive, shoot-first PG but one whose poor defense does mean the team's starting lineup/bench has to be built around carefully to account for his current (and likely ongoing throughout his career) weaknesses. 3rd Pick https://preview.redd.it/96pocramhi3b1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=3ee450641a298a5b1dee0da9fce0c7f652c60665 It's whomever is left from Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller. Maybe you trade down to 4 for some more assets if you're a believer in Amen Thompson, maybe you take Amen if you think he's the best player available and the Rockets won't negotiate for Scoot/Miller but yeah, it's one of those three via the 3rd overall pick. Before we get into the players, I do want to briefly mention that I actually did a post a while ago on a different sub going over trades involving the 3rd pick and to put it bluntly: The 3rd pick has good value but it doesn't have as much value on its own and trades involving the 3rd pick for an All-Star or even All-NBA caliber player are very rare. The closest trade to what the Blazers would want in return was in 2000 where the Atlanta Hawks traded the 3rd overall pick to the Vancouver Grizzlies along with Brevin Knight and Lorenzen Wright for Shareef Abdur-Rahim and the 27th overall pick. That 3rd pick turned out to be future HoFer Pau Gasol but no one knew he'd become that at the time. As for what the Grizzlies gave up for the pick, Shareef Abdur-Rahim was not a perennial All-Star nor was he an All-NBA level player. He was a solid player that became an All-Star in his debut season for the Hawks...and that was his only All-Star appearance. With that in mind, it is a bit wild that it's so commonly suggested that Simons and the 3rd pick alone should be enough to acquire an All-NBA talent like Siakam, especially with how much inflation we've seen in trades for players of that caliber of late or even players who are a step below. Concerns about his contract expiring lowering his value are baffling, as if a team's front office wouldn't talk to him about an extension before making such a trade. Moreover, it's not like the Raptors need to deal him out when they can simply re-sign him in 2024. Now this year, when Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller could be up for grabs, the 3rd pick has a lot more value given how highly praised those players are, so let's put aside the debate on what is fair for Siakam for a moment and talk about the presumed 3rd overall pick, Scoot Henderson. The 2nd best player in a draft class containing the best prospect since LeBron James. He's projected to go 3rd because Charlotte is allegedly interested in taking Brandon Miller at 2nd but we'll touch on that later. For now, let's talk Scoot: - Henderson is a freakish athlete and a terrific floor general; he racked up an average of 6 assists a night on an AST:TO ratio of 1.94:1 and is a strong option on offense due to his abilities as a slasher
- His usage as the G-League Ignite's offense, be it ball screens or handoffs, displayed his ability to break down a team's defense
- To delve deeper into his production as an offensive guard, his percentage rate of ball screens (43.7%) is only matched or surpassed by 7 players across the entire NBA. 7!
- Despite the athleticism, Scoot is generally good at controlling the ball and not turning it over due to careless mistakes driving to the basket
- For a guard, he's a pretty solid rebounder and, if nothing else, he puts in the effort on defense even if he's not necessarily someone who screams "Future DPoY"
- Intangibles are hard to really quantify but Scoot is the definition of someone who "has that dog in him" and he's someone you trust down the stretch to make the right move
- He puts in effort on defense but he's only 6'2 with a 6'9 wingspan and, well he's no Kyle Lowry when it comes to taking charges or the like
- His shooting is...a work-in-progress; he tends to default to long 2s which he isn't great at making (38% overall), his free throw percentage is only 75% and his 3-point shooting is a measly 31% off the dribble
Needless to say, there's a lot to like about Scoot; if Victor wasn't in this draft, he'd easily go #1 overall. He's often compared to Derrick Rose or even Russell Westbrook as this uber explosive guard who can seriously pressure the rim while generating solid passes for his teammates which is a good comparison though one obviously hope his outside shooting pans out more like Curry or Trae than Russ or Rose. Losing Siakam would obviously hurt the team in the short term but as far as what Scoot brings, there is a lot of upside to him that would raise the ceiling of the team in the long run. His ability to get to the rim, combined with his athleticism would make him the perfect guard for a team that thrives in transition like the Raptors. He would also have chemistry with another player the Raptors have been rumored to be interested in/may take at 13 in Leonard Miller as they played on the same team but we'll talk about the 13th pick's potential prospects another time. For now, let's go over one of the problems with trading for Scoot Henderson if he is still on the board, besides the obvious hypothetical of "he might never become a player as good as the one you're giving up" or "what do you do with Fred when you brought in Scoot and Simons" because what you're really asking is this: Is a backcourt of Scoot/Simons the team's guard duo of the future? This brings me to my big problem with a âtrade for Simons + 3â trade if the 3rd pick does end up being Scoot: A backcourt of two undersized guards, one of whom is unproven against NBA competition on defense and the other of whom has been one of the worst guard defenders in the league is not a duo of guards you can build a contender around in the long-term unless both of them become significantly improved defenders. Or at the very least, it's a duo that has historically not led to notable championship contention. Blazers fans would know this well given their team has only had one year where they werenât the in the NBAâs basement as far as defensive ratings go, be it with CJ or Anfernee as Lillardâs sidekick; the furthest they ever got with either was the Western Conference Finals and the best their defense has even been was 10th. Every other season, the Trailblazers defense has been amongst the worst in the NBA. Part of those Blazers teams' failures can be attributed to bad coaching, but a more significant portion of the blame be laid at the feet of Dame being a bad defender and undersized who has been paired with bad, undersized guards throughout much of his career. You can get away with one bad defender or a starter whoâs undersized for their position on a championship-caliber team which, if youâre rebuilding by trading away Siakam, that is what youâre hoping to take a step back for. As an example, Dirk Nowitzki wasnât known for being a lockdown defender and yet the Mavericks won their first and only championship to date with Dirk as the weak link on defense. He was also a phenomenal offensive talent whose weaknesses on defense were mitigated by how much momentum he was able to generate for his team but I digress. You can get away with running several smaller players for a limited time to force mismatches on offense with the right lineup. The Warriors dynasty comes to mind, where Golden State would close games using their âDeath Lineupâ. However, that lineup revolved around 4 Hall of Famers (Klay, Dray, Steph, Igoudala) where Steph is the lineupâs weakest link on defense, and this is before we acknowledge that they were able to include yet another HoFer in Kevin Durant to replace Harrison Barnes in a different incarnation of the Death Lineup from 2017 onward. For that matter, it's not wholly impossible to win a championship with a duo of small guards - the Pistons repeated in the 89/90-90/91 with 6'3 Joe Dumars and 6'1 Isiah Thomas and the Bad Boy Pistons were contenders throughout the 90s - but it is damn near impossible if your lead guards are bad defenders. Whatever can be said about Thomas' various off-court controversies, notably with him being found liable for sexual misconduct during his stint heading a woman's basketball team a la the New York Liberty, he was a phenomenal defender, as was Dumars. Hell, the Raptors won in 2019 while having Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry share the floor a fair amount of time in the Finals though it is once again worth noting that both were terrific defenders at the time. Even if one wouldn't call their efforts All-Defense caliber, they were both positives on that end of the floor. Historically speaking, you cannot be a championship-caliber team with two of your starters being undersized negatives on the defensive end barring them being surrounded by generational defenders or said starters being generational offensive players who can make up for how many points youâre giving up on the other end of the floor. Simons is a gifted scorer with good playmaking but is a truly sorry defender. Scoot Henderson is a talented passer but is undersized for the position and how he fares defensively with teams hunting him as the smallest player on the court will remain to be seen. But with neither of them likely to be a Dumars/Thomas-level defender and the offensive capabilities for one of them being the main question mark as to how good a player they could become, having both of them as the foundation to your team's backcourt seems to cement the duo's future as a non-contending entity. Let's put this into perspective with some statistics: Of the past 40 years, the only championship to ever be won by a team with what could be considered a bad regular season defensive rating was the 2000/01 Lakers. That team had two generational talents in Shaq and Kobe, and that season is itself an outlier when compared to the rest of the Shaq/Kobe Lakers era that it shouldn't even count. All other championship teams were at least 12th or higher for their season with most championship teams being in the Top 5 in defensive rating. By the by, in case you're wondering: That team who had 12th in defensive rating was the 1995 Rockets led by the generational talent in Hakeem Olajuwon and said rating had a lot to do with untimely injuries to the 95 Rockets core. That team they still managed to have the 7th best offensive rating in the league despite Drexler's absence for much of the season is a testament to Future Raptors Retiree Hakeem's skills as the best big man of the late 80s, early-to-mid 90s. Are we noticing a pattern here? Even if we ignore the question about what to do with Fred, the question of what the Raptors backcourt looks like is far more pertinent if it is going to involve some combination of Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons with, presumably, Gary Trent Jr. and another guard coming off the bench for relief. Is a backcourt of Anfernee Simons and Scoot going to turn this team into a Top 3-6 offense for the season without plummeting this team's defense off of a cliff? And if you don't think so, when do you move one of them to open up the 1 or the 2 for another player? This is a question the team will likely have to answer once they've seen how Simons and Scoot fit togethefit with the rest of the roster; I don't see a 3-team draft day deal where Simons or the 3rd pick are moved elsewhere barring that aforementioned moving down to 4th and I don't see this team without Siakam/with Scoot and Simons being a serious contender for several years even if they do pan out. But it is a question that has me concerned in regards to how this team will function when it's developing a dynamic duo of players who will be picked apart in the playoffs barring one of them turning into a terrific defender. Whatever else one can say about Point Scottie or even Scottie Barnes when he was crammed into the starting Shooting Guard position for much of the year, it is hard to argue that having either Scottie or Trent & Simons/Scoot as your backcourt makes way more sense defensively even if having both Scottie and Scoot complicates matters on the offensive end since neither are great shooters and Trent's defense is a touch overrated at time due to is propensity to gamble for steals. All this being said, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Henderson becomes an All-Defense-caliber player or for Simons to a climb out from the deep hole he's dug for himself as one of the worst defenders in the league, and Scoot is still a phenomenal talent. These concerns should be noted, but they shouldn't serve to deter from selecting him 3rd if such a trade were to go down. As a prospect, there's very few players in this draft class who could serve to singlehandedly raise the floor and the ceiling of this team in the long run. Speaking of other players, however, it should be acknowledged that Scoot isn't the only potentially available player at 3; while all accounts suggest the Hornets prefer Brandon Miller at 3, Scoot is the best player available at 2 and there's no guarantee the Hornets draft for fit. So here's a quick rundown of Miller and a player the Blazers have recently worked out, Amen Thompson: - Brandon Miller is a 6'9 forward (boo, we have enough of those!) who can shoot (yay, we need more of that!) and has some notable playmaking upside even if his decision-making can be questionable at times. He's a player you could see as either a #1 or a high level #2 option on a championship team though he's not the most switchable guy on defense and you have the usual rookie concerns i.e. "he needs to get the NBA body to thrive". He's gotten a lot of comparisons to Paul George but i'd say his playmaking is further ahead from what PG13 was as a prospect.
- Amen Thompson is someone I talked about in the trade for the 4th pick & he's a very interesting player. A high ceiling, low floor player with unreal athleticism, a 6'7 lead guard who's arguably the best passer in the draft class but has serious questions about the competition he's faced in OverTime Elite/his shooting being as bad as it was. Think Ja Morant but with defense and, again, at 6'7 with a much longer wingspan.
I feel like the trade makes more sense if the Raptors were to go for Amen or Miller but we won't know who the Hornets will chose on draft night until the day of & ideally you'd trade down for 4th to get Thompson plus assets if you're sold on Amen. Plus like I said, it is possible that Scoot does become a good or even great defender so one might not have to worry about choosing between him and Ant down the line. TL;DR - Scoot is an amazing prospect but his pairing with Simons could be a major problem in the future if both don't improve defensively. Ironically, the 3rd pick becomes simultaneously more valuable for other teams/less valuable for the Raptors if it's Scoot and vice-versa if it's Miller due to those concerns. Thompson is a wildcard at 3 depending on who has the pick/how willing the Rockets are to trade up to 3rd. Nassir Little Portland is reluctant to deal out Sharpe. We can debate on whether or not it's fair value for an All-NBA caliber player like Siakam, how much his contract being expiring should affect a deal (we'll ignore the fact that he can be extended by Portland and that any front office making a trade like this should be doing their due diligence by speaking to Pascal Siakam beforehand) or how good Sharpe actually was as a rookie overall instead of solely focusing on that stretch where the Blazers let him do whatever because they were tanking but regardless, the Blazers seem intent on keeping him. Fair enough, Masai is likely aiming for more than Anfernee and 3 - especially for the reasons listed above if it is Scoot Henderson - but Sharpe is likely a hard sell for the front office even if they are going all-in i.e. they want to keep at least one young guy on the roster for the long-term. That being said, there's still the matter of salary matching, and that's where one of Nassir Little or Sharpe has to come in (They're not going to move Nurkic in the deal for Siakam unless they have something lined up for their center situation i.e. tampering for Naz Reid); the only way for the Blazers to neatly absorb Siakam into their cap with just Simons is by renouncing their rights to Jerami Grant and they need to re-sign him/move him to the 3 (Grant is a really bad rebounder for a PF; the man is a career 4 RPG) if they are serious about competing with Dame. So...yeah, Nassir Little. Little is what people think O.G. is: A good defender who is often injured, Little is a solid 3 & D wing who, unlike Anunoby, has never played more than 55 games for a given season. Granted, 2019/20 and 2020/21 were shorted to 72 seasons but regardless, injuries have hampered the 23 year-old in the same way that Otto Porter Jr.'s potential was sapped due to a career-long battle with injuries. Still, when considering his age and production, his newest contract ($28M/4 years) is amazing value when he's healthy. But much like Otto (who I think technically could be sent in such a deal due to the rules around incoming/outgoing salaries), the question of when he's available is a common one. Little is a good young player but one whom you shouldn't get your hopes up about changing the team's direction. TL;DR - A little salary (sorry) is needed for the deal to happen on draft night & Nassir would be a decent choice for forward depth off the bench. One will have to carefully factor in injury concerns when evaluating the team's depth. Keon Johnson So like I said, Sharpe is likely to be ruled out. I debated if I should cover him at all but i'm honestly not sold on Shaedon as a prospect and we've already met the quota for rants with the "Simons/Scoot frontcourt will be exploited" talks. That said, I don't think the Raptors would settle for just Simons and the 3rd pick or the 3rd pick plus assets from a 3rd team were Anfernee moved due to the aforementioned backcourt issues with Simons and Scoot. For now we have Keon Johnson. Fun fact: When the Raptors were expected to draft 7th in the 2021 draft, Johnson was a common player mocked for the 7th pick. He wound up going in the 20 to the Clippers (via the Knicks in a trade) who eventually fleeced the Blazers in a deal including him for Norman Powell. Keon Johnson...hasn't really done a whole lot thus far. He was noted for having an impressive vertical of 48" at the 2021 combine which broke a previous record, he's a terrific athlete and he's about the same age as Scottie so he lines up with a rebuild or retool around Barnes... ...and that's where the positives end. Like I said, Keon hasn't demonstrated all that much on either team he's been on. For a guard, he's not a great ball handler, he isn't a good shooter, he's got decent size and the speed to be a good defender from 1-3 but his potential on that end does not All-Defense caliber. He'd be a throw-in that you'd hope can develop over time, likely spending a lot of time in the G-League because as of right now, he isn't going to be a significant contributor on either end. TL;DR - Keon is on a rookie deal so you'd be taking a flier on him/betting on your development bringing out the best in him if he were included. Other pick(s): As far as immediate draft capital goes, the Blazers have the 23rd pick in this draft, which is around the range where players the Raptors have been rumored to be interested in/interviewed (Bilal Couliby, GG Jackson) would likely be available. There's been some speculation that the Blazers could send this pick to the Bulls so they can get their owed pick back from Chicago but nothing concrete has come out regarding whether the Bulls would settle for that vs. hoping the Blazers make the 1st round and lose so they can get a pick in the 16-20 range. That said, the future pick owed to the Bulls is where things get tricky if the Raptors did want a future 1st: The Blazers pick is protected until 2028. It is technically possible for them to offer a swap in 2029 but without the protections being removed on the Bulls-bound 2024 1st (The 2029 pick cannot be moved due to the Stepien Rule), any future draft capital would need to come in the form of the 2023 trade deadline's currency of choice: Second round picks. Some of the notable 2nds include: - A 2024 2nd that could come from the Hornets or Wolves
- A 2028 Warriors 2nd
- This year's second via the Hawks which is 45th
- The Blazers own 2nd in 2028
Not that these are a good substitute for a first-rounder but with the Blazers draft capital being restricted and the CBA's changes to 2nd round contracts, it's better than no future firsts if the 2023 Knicks pick is considered a bridge too far. TL;DR - There is some interesting draft capital here beyond their own 1sts, especially if the 23rd pick is available in a deep draft like this, but ideally one would want a future 1st from the Blazers rather than a handful of 2nds given Dame's limited window. Conclusion I was originally going to talk about the 4th overall pick but this got a bit lengthy so I made that into a separate post. As far as the 3rd pick package, in some ways it's better than one surrounding the 4th pick because Simons is a flatout better player than any one the Rockets would send back but it's also worse when you factor in Simons or Scoot's respective ceilings vs some of the potential prospects that could come in a 4th pick package? You're getting significant depth at the guard position if it is Scoot/Simons but there's a huge question mark as to how good the defense will hold up with two undersized guards, one of whom is a bad defender, will hold up in the playoffs. submitted by CazOnReddit to torontoraptors [link] [comments] |

2023.06.02 23:58 Drakolf TftM- Murder Planets:
Murder Planets were a logistical nightmare, and were heavily regulated. It didn't matter if you were some entrepreneur wanting to adapt an ancient bloodsport for the modern era or a psychopath willing to risk life and limb to kill another person, you had to go through customs before you were allowed to be set free on the planet without repercussion.
Many members of the more carnivorous species attempted to play dumb when it came to visitation, trying to ignore that stadium seating was legally considered a 'safe zone', or that specific embassy locations were meant to be a safe place for prey to escape to.
There was no thrill of the hunt if victory was assured, after all.
Humanity was the most vocal against the concept, citing it as just 'Purging', though most species didn't get the reference, and those who did countered that, yes, that was basically what it was, so why are they complaining?
Even the herbivores agreed with the rest of the galaxy, some were adrenaline junkies looking for the ultimate high, pain and the chance of death only made things better, those who survived often befriended the person who just moments before tried to kill and eat them. Some Humans even joined in on the fun, usually as the predator, one that was horrifically efficient even to the eyes of the rest of the galaxy.
Rarely was it when a Human was prey.
Grahim was not allowed on the hunt, David had expressly forbidden him from attending, stating he didn't want him getting hurt, not when he couldn't guarantee his survival, not like on Caniti Grau.
They had met a trio of Canicians on the planet, in a hunting lodge, Grahim wanted to go to boast about his kills and wrestle with the other hunters without worrying too much about accidentally killing his companion.
David wasn't concerned with being the only Human in the hunting lodge, being a doctor, he had more than his fair share of belligerent Canician patients who didn't realize he was their final straw, that he was the only one willing to work with them, and if they managed to piss him off, their next serious injury would likely be their last.
The jokes cast at his expense were quickly cut off by Grahim's warning growl, the big old fluffy murderball was highly protective, he didn't care about his reputation, as long as his companion remained unmolested. It was that trio that pressed on in spite of his warnings.
"Look, the little hunter wants to protect his pet!" The first one chided.
"Stop playing with your food, pup! This lodge is for proud Caniti, not pretenders!" The second one barked.
The third was the one that approached David, licking his chops and very intent on eating David. "I'll eat it if you won't."
"Harm one hair on my companion, and I'll tear your intestines our of your anus!" Grahim had threatened.
Three against one isn't favorable odds, the trio rounded on Grahim and attacked, it took the rest of the lodge to pull them off, Grahim was still standing, if severely wounded. David patched him up, the trio mocked him for having a medic.
"If you touch my companion again, I will ensure you learn why you should fear medics." David stated. The trio never backed down from a challenge, which is why Grahim paced nervously as his companion was flown down to the deathworld, alone.
Only proud Caniti were worthy of Caniti things, that was the raison d'etre the trio of Caniti supremacists. They had mocked Grahim as he demanded to be at his companion's side, only to be gently rebuffed and forbidden to follow.
"You would be angry with me if I interfered with your own hunt, Grrhaf, just trust me on this."
The rules were simple: The Human would choose a spot on the planet to land, the Caniti would land a short distance away, and they would start tracking the Human. The Human would not be required to kill, to abide by his Hippocratic oath- which the trio disparaged as a coward's oath- and the hunt would end when one side was either incapacitated, or dead.
Naturally, the event was televised. The trio wanted to use it as a launching point for their racist and hateful rhetoric, David simply used what little air time was dedicated to him to simply smile and say he looked forward to winning.
Grahim paced nonetheless, eyes glued on the holoscreen that depicted what was surely his companion's last moments in the galaxy.
The showrunners only gave David a single camera, mostly to give the viewers the vicarious sense of chasing down prey. When David stayed at his landing site, picking up sticks and cutting them, the view was automatically shrunk to give more space for the trio, who were just beginning their descent.
"You look worried." Grahim looked at the Human who had approached him. "Never thought I'd see a Canician worried for the prey."
"The prey is my companion." Grahim replied. "He refused to allow me to accompany him."
The Human nodded. "He probably didn't want you getting caught on the traps." Grahim looked at the Human, who looked... ecstatic. He knew no Human would enjoy watching their own being brutally mauled to death unless if was clearly a horror movie.
The Trio landed, they headed for David's landing spot. The room was silent, most wondering how the hunters would react to their prey sitting in the open, few had paid attention to what he was doing.
"Look!" One of the trio barked. "The prey wants to be devoured!" The trio rushed forward, and then there was the sound of a snap as all three were caught in a grass net. David didn't move, he simply observed as the Caniti cut themselves out of the net. They collided with the ground, which them broke away underneath them, leading into a pit.
The room was silent, shocked. The trio were scrambling at the sides, the loosened dirt giving no purchase as they struggled to climb out of the pit. David faced the camera. "They're still in a fighting mood, I'll wait to see if they can actually get out." The words were cold, chilling even to Grahim.
The Human beside him simply laughed. "When you know how your prey is going to act, you don't need to do anything special. A net, pulling you over a pit, on top of some other basic hunting traps." The Human's grin sent a chill down Grahim's spine. "Even if those poor pups get out, the hunt's only just begun."
Eventually, the trio put their heads together and made a Canician ladder, allowing one of them to get out and pull another out. They didn't have enough to get their third out, not that it mattered, they still had a clear line of sight on their prey.
The snap of bone as one of the hunter's legs slipped into a hole, their forward momentum putting too much stress on it, pierced the silence of the room.
"Your Human oath is to not harm!" The remaining hunter barked.
"Just like the Geneva Convention only really applies to those who sign it, the Hippocratic Oath only applies when the medic isn't going to be killed." David stated. "I won't kill you, but I'll sure as hell make you wish I did."
The Canician slowly approached David, ignoring the pained whimpers of his incapacitated ally and the demands to know what was going on by the other. It became clear there were no more traps, the Canician charged at David and tackled him. David stepped out of the overgrowth behind the dummy, naked as the day he was born, a syringe in his hand, one that he expertly poked into the Canician's body.
"I've just injected you with a Class B paralytic, in one hour, every muscle in your body will grow still. you already feel your limbs stiffening, don't you?" The Canician struggled to push himself up. "I will see you three in the medical bay, we're done here..."
There was, of course, an uproar, mostly Humans cheering, some were Canicians who declared it an unfair fight- which Grahim was quick to point out that three against one was inherently unfair, and not even the mark of a good hunter when there was only one prey.
The next time Grahim saw his companion, it was in the medical bay, having treated the trio for the injuries they sustained, and putting the third on life support until the paralytic ran its course. The other doctors gave him a small berth, they didn't approve of his actions, or his words, but they understood the circumstances required a certain degree of ruthlessness.
Grahim picked up his companion, hugged him with an appropriate level of strength, and poked his cheek with the tip of his snout in a 'kiss'.
"Let's go home, Grahim, we still have two days of vacation time, and I just want a nap."
"Of course." Grahim replied. He was so proud of his Human.

2023.06.02 23:58 bakariwolf Saga of the Professional DM! Part 4 The end.
The week went by and everyone kind of just forgot the last session until we all met outside the game shop and saw Barbarian and Druid waiting for us. Seems the weight of the last session had just come crashing back down on them and they were debating on going in at all. Bard and Paladin were already there chatting it up with DM and seeming to have fun. A little talking and we all decided to see where this lead.
Of course as we traveled DM insisted that we roleplay our actions to the extreme as if she wanted a reward for what she did last time. None of us really were in the mood and each explained in their own diplomatic way that we would like to skip to the next town. However Paladin was all up for roleplay. After all we had gotten to explain our backstory so he should get a turn. We agreed thinking it wouldn't take long for him to get on the same page as the rest of us.
Two hours later I have pulled out my laptop to work on some writing, and everyone else is looking at their phones or books while Paladin is still talking. He apparently loves the intense roleplay of describing in great detail all his actions with a hammy over the top way of speaking. His backstory is a line of adventures stolen from his favorite video games. Defeating evil Barron Von Bowser to save Princess Peaches, taking the head of the arch wizard Gannon to lift the curse on a sleeping princess, slaying the evil dragon of the north known as Seath the scalesess to save a blind holy woman, and riding off into the sunset on an axe beak with a young maiden after beating an evil lord named Sephiroth. Just to name a few. This kept on to the point I wanted to remind him he was level two but DM was loving it and on the edge of her seat.
Our saving grace was Bard who spoke up and said that we would break for camp. The next town was two nights away so might as well get one night behind us. Again we got a random encounter roll and again "Oh my this never happens you are all just so lucky, no encounter isn't that great?" The rest of us are angry but we remain diplomatic. Asking, pleading that we have an encounter so we can level up. Everyone wanted to fight the dragons and we needed levels but nope. She had played for FIFTEEN YEARS and THIS WAS THE RULES.
Another hour of stolen game cut scenes from Paladin and we made camp once more. Once again lucky us, no encounter. We begged offering to even roleplay with the enemies having banter and what not. No dice, it was the rules after all and you can't bend the rules... A bit more and we make it to town. At this point we hush Paladin, everyone is ravenous. We are rolling social skills, stopping people, asking questions, anything to get us our next job in hopes that we can level up, anything to further the story. Forget being nice, we were the rudest people you had ever met grabbing any NPC the DM said existed and ganging up on them venomously shouting. "What problems do you have in town?! Anything we don't care even if it's minor. Tell us, we'll even kill rats, got a goblin problem? Kobolds? Seen an undead? Do you just not like someone? GIVE US ANYTHING!"
Barbarian was so desperate he even asked the DM if starting a fight would be survivable and get us XP. She explained that everyone in the entire fishing city was either our level or lower and harming them wouldn't give us any XP what so ever. She went on to say that we didn't find any job hirings, the only thing people were talking about was how the fishing had dried up.
The moment we heard that Wizard, Cleric, and I in unison turned and said "DRUID! You're up. lets get you to the docks." We rushed everyone to the docks, and wanted to hire a ship. The only ship available was a war ship that was docked for resupply. We talked to the captain and paid him nearly every bit of gold we had to rent his ship. So we were out on the ocean and the druid was doing his thing in a small boat while we waited. Calling forth some fish and using a ritual speak with animals to get the information. All of us were very proud of Druid, he came back and we had the answer. Seems some creature had entered into the bay, druid pointed to a sunken single man sailing ship that we could see the mast sticking ten feet out of the water. So fairly shallow water, this is important.
Whatever had scared the fish was there. We sailed over to it and DM goes into her description. Talking about from the ship comes a massive shadow that dwarfs the ship we are on, so large it makes it look like a bath toy. The shadow swims under the ship and it takes half a minute before it is past. As it moves large tentacles are seen breaking the surface of the water.
Druid rolled nature and all of us aided him. He got a fairly high roll and DM informed us that we had just seen a Kraken. I was dumbfounded, how the heck was a Kraken living in a small sail boat when it dwarfed a war ship, and how the heck was it in this shallow of water!? So I asked "We know what it is can I look up the information?" She said ok and I asked what one she was using 3.5 or 5e it was the 5e one so I turned to it and pointed asking "You mean this?" She confirmed the CR 23 monster as the one we had just seen.
Barbarian who only looked at the picture. "Awesome!" Druid "Bet we can take that." Wizard "no we can't. It's CR 23." Barbarian "Cap!" Druid "Does this mean we have to run away again?" DM All smiles "Yep now you have an important second goal! You're so lucky."
Now I will say here I know I am in the wrong for what I did. It is always important to have good communication and talk things out, however we had tried that, I was frustrated, and I wasn't thinking straight. So I became that guy.
DM " When when you run away you have a couple of options you can go to..." Me "Nope we aren't running away. We're gunna fight it." DM "What? You can't." Me "Sure we can, it's here, we're here, we're going to fight it I know everything about them you said so lets see what we can do. Captain how many guns on this ship? Do you have harpoons big ones? How about gun powder you have cannons so how much you got?" Barbarian "So we're fighting it?" Me "Yep we're fighting it! Bring it on you big squid we're having calamari tonight!" Druid "So we can beat it?" Me "Heck no! It's impossible. That thing gets three attacks a turn can hit us on a 2, and will kill us in one hit. Barbarian might survive three hits if he's really lucky and raging. We have no chance." Druid "So why are we fighting it?" Wizard who had just looked up the stats. "Because we're fighting it!" Cleric "Bring it slimy!"
It was amazing, a moment of depression turned to a slight moment of confusion and then everyone was on board even Paladin who didn't get what was going on. Everyone was suddenly excited. Barbarian looked for the harpoons, took three of them and said he was rolling strength to bend them, didn't even wait for the DM to say if he could just rolled and explained how he was making a giant fish hook as his weapon of choice. Taking out rations and spearing them on as bait. Druid Rushed down asking how many barrels of gun powder he could find. Cleric was talking to the crew asking for anything that burned, wood, lamp oil, explosives of any kind. I went about telling everyone this was our ship and we were headed back to town why settle for what the ship had, we were going to raid the town for supplies. Druid pointed out we spent all our gold and I told him. "We are doing this for the good of the kingdom, we'll steal what we need and pay them back later. Lets get this thing!"
DM tried to gain control of her game back as we were going at a pace she couldn't handle, she said the captain was demanding we leave his ship alone and since it was the only ship he was sailing away and leaving us in the city, we couldn't have his ship.
The party was invested now though. Everyone was excited and having more fun then we had since the start. We reminded her that she stated no one was over our level so we would fight the captain and take his ship if we had to. Threatening him that if he didn't get off and leave the ship he would be dead. She relented and had the captain and crew leave. Cleric and I agreed we'd stay to guard the ship and get things ready on it while the party went to gather more things to kill the Kraken. People were looking at skills, abilities, and items. Looking through the book for anything that could help us and asking the DM if the city had it. Shop after shop the blood thirsty adventurers went demanding goods to fight off the threat. Never really telling the people why we needed it or what it was for but insisting there was a danger that would destroy the city, maybe the kingdom if they didn't cooperate. The DM wasn't given a break to process, when one question was answered another was asked. If we couldn't get something we got the next best thing. If we couldn't find a finished product we took the stuff to make it. She was having to improve on the fly and I could see it was taking a tole on her, where since the start she had a look of absolute authority and command, now she was a frazzled mess.
I would have felt bad, I should have felt bad, however from the rest of the players I heard something that I hadn't heard since day one, laugher and excitement. They didn't care I had told them it was impossible. They didn't care I had pointed out we would die and be on character generation. They now had a chance. Even if it was an impossible chance it was a chance to do something and try.
DM "Look if you do this you're all going to end up dead. You can't bet it at your level." She was trying to get us back to just running away and for a moment things stopped. Me "I hope my character doesn't die. I have a cousin in this down, he's a warlock too and he'd be so upset I think he'd go after the thing as well." Wizard laughed and joined in. "Oh yeah my sister has a shop here, if I died without saying hi to her she'd make that thing burn."
Druid and Barbarian got the message, we had all played video games. If we couldn't beat it with these characters we had a city with a population of 6000 possible back up characters to zerg rush it. So plans kept on going, players kept searching for a way to give us the best possible chance of doing this or surviving a couple of rounds because that would be an accomplishment in itself. We were making bombs, alchemical items, improvised weapons. Getting ready every spell and ability we had to try this. When gaming was called the DM and Bard left while the rest of us stayed around for probably a half hour more talking about the plan, joking, and just having fun. All of us left with a smile on our faces.
When I got home I had a message on my answering machine from DM informing me that I wasn't the DM and how dare I highjack her game. That I was a horrible player and I better fall in line because I had her crying. She made some threats about hurting herself if I didn't stop which I hope were lies meant to make me feel bad, and ended the message telling me if I called her back she would call the cops on me. A threat I wasn't going to test. I saved the message for proof later if I needed it and the week passed. When we all met at the shop the next week Bard said DM would be late. We were all still joking and having fun talking about our big plan for the TPK and making joke bets like "If we last three rounds your new character owes mine five gold." It was great.
Time passed though and no DM so we asked Bard what was up. He informed us then that she had texted. Said I ruined her game and she wasn't going to play with people who didn't understand the rules of dungeons and dragons. We broke out magic the gathering cards and played a few hands before heading home all a little disappointed that we couldn't see how far we would have gotten. A little while later I think a couple of months I was telling the story at the shop and Wizard kept making hand motions at me. I asked what was up and he face palmed saying "That's her older brother." Well I had already put my foot in my mouth voicing my displeasure so I figured one more question wouldn't hurt. "Sorry, but it was a bit of a mess of a game. This is my opinion as a player. I know she's family and all so hate me if you like but I am honest. I will ask though, how long has she actually been DMing."
The brother didn't mind and informed me that she had DMed 2 games for him, his younger brother, and their father when she was a child. That was it and they were both one shot things with their father doing most of the work. She never came back to the game shop and I think she moved states, I've never seen her since.

2023.06.02 23:56 Thelastfrontiers Solo Trip Report: May 17 - May 29 (LONG)
| I will post the resources used at the end of the post but here is the full itinerary. May 17th (Arrival) I arrived at KEF around 8 AM, I scheduled the pick up time of my van at 10:00 AM, around 9:15 AM the person from Cheap Campervans picked me up at the airport and drove us to the Happy Campers place. Van pick up was smooth and easy and headed towards Reykjavik since I scheduled a reservation at 12:30 at Sky Lagoon. Stayed at Sky Lagoon for around 2 hours, did the ritual ( It was a nice experience, I'm not used to go to this type of places so it was a new experience for me). Drove to the AirBnB I booked and died for a few hours there, then I walked towards Hallgrimskirkja and just walked around in that area, visited Harpa, Sun Voyager and ate some delicious hot dogs at BĂŠjarins. I stopped at a Bonus store on the way back to the AirBnB to grab supplies for the trip and I arrived once again at the AirBnB. May 18 (Golden Circle) Woke up, had breakfast and drove towards Thingvellir. I parked at Parking 1 and walked around the park for a few hours, visited ĂxarĂĄrfoss, Logberg, AlmannagjĂĄ etc. It was windy and rainy but fortunately I was prepared and had a really great time, although it was a little bit crowded on some parts. Thingvellir Next stop was BrĂșarfoss. I didn't do the whole hike due to the weather so I stayed in the new parking lot that they have, if I'm not mistaken the price was around 750 ISK, the road is gravel but any 2WD can access it without a problem if you are careful. Place was beautiful and there were maybe 2 or 3 persons there. Drove to Strokkur to see the Geyser, stayed there for a bit until the Geyser "exploded" and took some pictures and then left, beware of the smell here. Drove to Gullfoss and I parked in the lower parking lot, I walked to the side of the waterfall and it was incredible, trully a highlight of the day but make sure to bring some really good hiking shoes/boots and some waterproof equipment. Finally Arrived at Skjol Camping which was pretty good, had a pizza and a beer in the restaurant they have and went to sleep. May 19 (South) First stop of the day was Kerid Crater, you need to pay 450 ISK to enter but it's a beautiful view, walked around the crater and left. Drove to Seljalandsfoss, you also need to pay parking here and it was very crowded when I arrived, walked to Seljalandsfoss and went behind the waterfall. Walked to Gljufrafoss and entered the cave, make sure to bring good waterproof shoes here cause you need to walk in water to enter the cave. Next stop was SkĂłgafoss, simply amazing, I stayed for a bit inside the restaurant that is in front and had something to eat in the meantime that the rain stopped a little, once it stopped I walked to the waterfall, I went up the stairs towards the Fimmvorduhals trail and walked for a mile or so and then I returned. SkĂłgafoss Drove to Kvernufoss, wow, one of the hightlights of the trip. I walked down until the end where the waterfall is and just stayed there for a bit, simply amazing place and I was alone for almost the entire hike. Drove to DyrhĂłlaey but unfortunately it was closed. Drove to Reynisfjara and stayed there for a bit. Finally arrived at an AirBnB I booked that was just a few minutes from Vik, I was unable to find a camp that was open around that area (or maybe I just didn't do a lot of search). May 20 First stop was the Black Sand beach in Vik, really beautiful views and way less crowded than Reynisfjara. Did the lava show at Vik and it was an amazing experience, definitely recommend doing this if you are in the area, after the show I ate an amazing lamb soup in the restaurant. Drove to Eldhraun, short stop but beautiful views all around. Drove to FjaðrĂĄrgljĂșfur, road is paved all the way through and it's very easy to access, did the hike and took some amazing shots here, unfortunately mid hike there was a wind storm and I lost my lens hood of my camera and the raincoat I had for my backpack, Iceland winds are no joke! FjaðrĂĄrgljĂșfur Did a little stop at FossĂĄlar to take some pictures and finally arrived at TjaldsvÊðið Ă SvĂnafelli camp, really good facilities. May 21 (South East) Drove to Skaftafell since I booked a Glacier Hike with Arctic Adventures, the whole tour lasted around 4 hours and it was definitely one of the things I liked the most about the trip. Once we returned I had a little bite at the restaurant that the park has and then I continued the trip. (I wanted to do the Svartifoss hike but I was a little tired). Glacier Drove to the MĂșlagljĂșfur Canyon, unfortunately weather was pretty bad and since this was a longer hike I decided to not risk it, I was pretty disappointed cause this trail was one of my priorities but safety first! Did a quick stop at Hofskirkja and drove to FjallsĂĄrlĂłn Glacier. I stayed inside the van for a bit cause it was raining and the wind was crazy for a bit but then it calmed down and I went down to the lagoon, amazing views. Drove to Diamond Beach but unfortunately there was no ice in the beach, after this I drove to Höfn and stayed at the camp there. Unfortunately this was probably my least favorite camp, showers are not included in the price so that was a bummer. May 22 (East) First stop was Mount Vestrahorn, you need to pay to enter at the Viking cafe, I get that people sometimes get mad about paying here but I thought it was really worth it, they give you a map with the parking spots and the trails that they have, I visited the viking village which was cool even if it's fake, walked in the black sand beach and saw some wild horses roaming around, after that I grabbed a snack from the Cafe. Vestrahorn Drove to SkĂștafoss. Honestly, this was probably my favorite place in the whole trip, it was simply amazing and I was probably alone for almost 1 hour until another person arrived, words can't describe this place. Had a stop at DjĂșpivogur and ate at Við Voginn, then I started the drive to the camp but I made a little stop at Nykurhylsfoss. Arrived at Camp Egilsstadir, If you are visiting during low season I would recommend to arrive there and then do the reservation, I made a reservation before I arrived and once I was there there was someone else at my spot, I talked with the person in recepetion and for some reason my reservation was not appearing so I had to do it once again and grab another spot. Really good facilities tho! May 23 (North) Arrived at Hengifoss. I didn't check my AllTrails app beforehand and the hike was much longer than I expected lol, but it was beautiful. Drove to Fardagafoss. I was planning on going all through the end but the wind was crazy, so I decided to return mid hike. Next stop was Stuðlagil Canyon. I recommend doing the East parking to get to the famous spot, when you cross the bridge you need to follow a road that is not paved, it is a little rough but if you are careful you can do it in a 2WD. Once you park you need to walk for a little while, can't remember but I would say it's a 1-2 mile walk to the canyon, and as I mentioned before, wind was crazy this day but I was able to complete it safely, if it was raining tho I would have returned most likely. Stuðlagil Drove to camp in Ăsbyrgi, really beautiful but this was the most expensive camp I stayed at. May 24 Woke up a little late so I decided to skip the Ăsbyrgi trails and I drove to Dettifoss, you need to be careful here cause Google Maps will have you take road 864 which was closed when I was there, make sure to always check the correct roads in road.is, in this case I took road 862 and arrived with no problems. Did a quick stop at Hverir, you need to pay for parking and also the smell can get very strong lol. Drove to MĂœvatn and visited the GrjĂłtagjĂĄ cave, I then drove to Hverfjall volcano, you need to pay parking here. Did the hike to the top and stayed for a bit there, the climb is a little steep but once you are up it's easy to walk. Hverfjall Next stop was Goðafoss, parked on the East Side and took some cool pictures, it was a short stop. Finally started my drive to camp, I had a little scare here cause I had to drive between some mountains and that day it was snowing, I checked the road and a very tiny part of Ăjóðvegur had wet snow on it, I decided to try the drive and I arrived safely at camp but it was stressful. Camping VarmahlĂð was the one I stayed that night and it was lovely, really friendly stuff and good facilities. May 25 Drove to Grafarkirkja, you need to open a little gate to access the parking so just watch out for the signals once you are close. I arrived early in the morning so I had the place for myself for like 30 minutes. KĂĄlfshamarsviti was the next stop, most of the drive to here is done in a gravel road so be careful, the place is very beautiful and there were just a few people when I arrived. KĂĄlfshamarsviti Drove to Hvitserkur, long drive but I'm used to them, also a gravel road if I recall correctly, really peaceful place, I went down to the beach, you need to be careful here not to slip. I was initially planning on staying in BĂșðardalur tjaldsvÊði camping, this one is just on the side of the main road and facilities are kinda lacky and place is kinda small (I can imagine that in summer this gets full really quickly), I was walking around town and found a place called Gil Gesthouse and decided to stay there, it was a lovely stay. May 26 (SnĂŠfellsnes / West) First stop was Berserkjahraun, it was rainy and windy so I just made a quick stop and took some pictures. Went to Kirkjufell, you also need to pay parking here which I didn't know, short stay also due to the weather. Kirkjufell Drove to Svöðufoss but I was unable to do the hike since wind was too strong and visibility was bad, I also had to skip a stop at LĂłndrangar unfortunately. Did a little stop at DjĂșpalĂłnssandur, took some pics and left, was unable to go down to the beach. Stopped at Arnarstapi, rain stopped fortunately but wind was strong still but it was safe to walk around. Visited BĂșðakirkja. I then decided to go back to Kirkjufell since weather got good and wanted to see it with good visibility, made a short stop there and walked around the lake for a bit until the wind made me return to the van. Camped at Akranes, wind was very strong and it blew the door for the showers. May 27 (Reykjanes) Drove to Lake Kleifarvatn and stayed there and walked down for a bit. Visited KrĂœsuvĂk and then drove to ValahnĂșkamöl, really nice stay here, took some good pictures and also visited the Reykjanes Lighthouse. ValahnĂșkamöl I was planning on visiting Blue Lagoon but it was fully booked unfortunately so I decided to drive to Reykjavik once again and booked Sky Lagoon again. Walked around the city again and bought souvenirs for family and friends, ate dinner at Kol which was good but pricey and finally I stayed at the Reykjavik Campsite (make sure to make a reservation before hand cause it gets full). May 28 Woke up early in the morning and drove to Cheap Campervans to return the van. Return was fast and without any issues and the staff was kind enough to drop me at the AirBnB that I reserved at ReykjanesbĂŠr. I mostly stayed there the whole day to rest. May 29 Flight was scheduled for 9 am so I decided to walk to the airport and just when I was starting my walk a kind person offered me a ride to the airport. Everything went smooth and I returned home. Resources If you have any questions please let me know! submitted by Thelastfrontiers to VisitingIceland [link] [comments] |
2023.06.02 23:56 themasterpodcaster BASALT AND WATER SHIELDING COMPLETE ENCLOSURE
HEAVY FRAME .5 THICK WALL WITH EXTRA SPACE
This frame to hold up the ceiling and for safety to keep the basalt walls from collapsing on me. It can also help to hold up the walls of basalt sandbags or poly tubing and can help to keep it straight. It could even help to hold up the water layer and to provide a straight structure for that.
ON THE OUTSIDE
3.17 wide
2.25 ft high frame
7.75 length 5.67ft long for height 1.08 ft for the 6.5 inch thick frame on either end 1fT for .5 thick basalt on either end
and theres a small doorway around foot end which gets filled in and then door is 1.6 high and 2ft wide I guess it gets filled in then other bags are in front of it and overlapping sides and top
INTERIOR
25 inches wide 3.17 on the outside minus 1.08 is 25 inches the walls are 6.5 inches thick with a 5.5 inch 2x6 and two .5 inch pieces of plywood equals 6.5 inches per wall 1.08 total
height 1.51ft high 7.75 inches total almost .67 ft ceiling 7 inches thick a 5.5 inch 6x2 and 2 .75 inch pieces of plywood floor 1 piece of .75 plywood
length 5.67ft
DESCRIPTION OF THE FRAME
I first described what I wanted to to my friend who knows about construction. He told me what the frame needed to be like to be strong enough for high level of safety.
I asked if we could make the part around the head strong since it needs to support 2ft thick of basalt and 1ft thick of water and the part around my body weaker and thin but he
said it will mess it up to build to different frames and connect them. He said its stronger just to build it in the same way with the same dimensions for the entire length of the frame.
Im am being forced against my will to build it with part of the material wasted on surrounding the bigger frame instead of providing thicker protection even though I think its overkill given
my extreme level of desperation and need to go faster.
I think he said that the ceiling would be made with a piece of .75 inch plywood on the outside then 2x6 pieces of wood under it running perpendicular to the long dimension of the structure. The pieces
have the 2 thing part lying against the plywood of the ceiling and the 6 inch dimension sticks down into the box. The Walls are made the same way but with two .5 inch pieces of plywood around the 2x6 pieces.
The pieces stand up vertically. The 2x6 sixes are only either 2 or 4 inches apart I think he said? The floor is one piece of .75 inch plywood to help hold the walls in place to help keep them from shifting out of fully
supporting the ceiling and then stressing the joints more. He said we can build it with plastic bolts to avoid using steel nails or nails made of other metals. This is nice compared to a frame made of mortar and bricks
because we can move it to different places hopefully including for testing at better places. I guess well put holes in the side of the inner plywood walls and ceiling to increase how much air the structure can hold so I can
test it for longer periods. He says that plywood offgasses formaldehyde and I read you cant coat it or wrap it to stop that. So I guess its necessary to use more expensive formaldehyde free plywood.
The shielded person can get on a piece of .75 inch plywood with 4 mill farmers plastic on one side and the floor has greased farmers plastic on it so that the person can be slid into place without needing enough room or
fitness to wriggle in. Someone slides me in without me needing the room to wriggle back and forth or up an down and with less chance of bumping my nose Or you could lie on plywood with thick plastic on one side or OSB which
has a slick surface and the floor would be greased farmer plastic. There is an outline on the plywood and I lie just in the right spot and they push me in.
This design makes it 6 inches wider than my shoulders which I had hope would be enough to wriggle in without really any vertical room despite my body being somewhat messed up and not being able to get exercise.
Now im thinking this give me enough room to be pushed into place but I'm wondering could I get away with only 3 inches extra at the shoulders?
There could be 2 plastic pulleys in the corners and I get pulled instead of pushed in so it's easier.
This structure is supposed to totally surround me in water as well as basalt. Since the water containers wont hold up under the weigh of being underneath the basalt floor and ceiling as well the water has to be inside the frame
with me so that only my weight is on top of it. So Im planning on leaving enough room to have 2 layers of large fomenteck water bags. The two layers mean they will overlap at the seems. Im thinking that each layers bags will
also be stuck to each other with tape to keep them from separating and so they slightly overlap at the edges but without being thicker then the thickest part of the bags. If there isnt enough room for two layers somehow then
the small thinner fomenteck bags could create my two layers or just overlap the seems. The interior is about 1.5ft so two 4 inch thick fomenteck bag high floor will leave 10 inches minus the room for the plywood to slide in on.

THE BASALT LAYER
So this is a a enclosure of basalt thats 6 inches thick for the ceiling, the floor, side walls and the front and back wall. Its a complete enclosure and doorway gets blocked up after Im in it. When I made it like this I was assuming that
there was no way to make a thinner floor anyway but with the poly tubing I might be able to make it 3 or 4 inches thick using a double layer of the smallest poly tubing and save some weight.
CEILING AND FLOOR 32.32 cubic ft 4.17ft wide x 7.75ft long frame is 6.75 plus .5 ft basalt on one side and .5 basalt on the other is 7.75 total
SIDE WALLS 17.44 cubic ft 2.25ft high by 7.75ft long outside of frame is 2.25ft high and i'm defining the walls as the height between the basalt ceiling and floor which is the height of the frame. The walls dont include
the basalt that is over the wall but is above or underneath the level of the frame which can be defined as part of the ceiling or floor.
END WALLS 7.13 cubic ft 2.25ft high by 3.17 ft long The length of the end walls are the distance between the inner surface of the side walls.
say use 4 60lb bags to block the door thoroughly 3 to 2.4 cubic ft
TOTAL
SOLID WALL 59.3 cubic ft to 59.9 cubic ft 60 cubic ft is 2.4 tons tons at 80lb per cubic ft with a solid wall 3 tons at 100lb per cubic ft with solid wall this will really at least a touch less if I make it with bags because there will be some space between the bags
no matter what I do.
POLY TUBING WALL The round shape of the tubing means that the wall won't be solid and will have some of the space empty. Ill say that if I use the tubing it will only use 80 percent of what a totally solid wall will. So if I use two layers of 3 inch tubes of basalt
then the most basalt it can use is 80 percent of a solid wall I think.
Total 60 cubic ft with poly tubing at 80lb a cubic ft is 1.92 tons at at 100lb a cubic ft is 2.4 tons
2.133 tons to 2.66tons depending on 80lb or 100lb per cubic ft REDO THESE or 2.55 to 3.2 tons if 8 inches thick
BRAIN PROTECTION
theres .5 ft of basalt in every direction so Im adding extra basalt to reach the full thickness I want around my brain.
BRAIN PORTECTION 1
ON TOP A 2X2ft square above brain uses 6 cubic extra ft adding 1.5ft thick total to make it 2ft thick altogether. is centered on forehead and the back and of it is about 3 inches away from the back wall of the whole structure.
BEHIND 2X2X2ft total uses 6 cubic ft extra adding 1.5ft thickness The top is level with the rest of the basalt ceiling the bottom is level with the bottom of the TIs brain and is centered on there brain from left to right.
ON THE SIDES 2x2 ft and 1ft thick total uses 4 cubic ft extra for both sides adding .5ft thick Is the same as the behind one but on the sides.
TOTAL is 16 cubic ft solid wall .64 tons at 80lb per cubic ft .8lb tons if 100lb per cubic ft using poly tubing uses .51 tons at 80lb per cubic ft and .64 tons at 100lb per cubic ft
GRAND TOTAL WITH STRUCTURE 2.43 with poly tubing 80lb a cubic ft or 3.04 tons with poly tubing and 100lb per cubic ft
BRAIN PROTECTION 2
this is describing an additional outer wall that fits over the basalt box I already described to bring it up to 1ft thick for part of it.
CEILING AND FLOOR 15.75 cubic ft 5.25ft x 3ft
SIDE WALL 9.75 cubic ft 3.25x 3ft
BACK WALL 13.5 cubic ft 3.25x4.17
total 40 cubic ft added with poly tubing .8 tons at 80lb a cubic ft and 1 ton with 100lb a cubic ft
GRAND TOTAL 2.72 tons with poly tubing 80lb a cubic ft and 3.4 tons with 100lb a cubic ft
BRAIN PROTECTION 3
brain protection 2 with 2x2x2ft above and behind brain total thickness .
GRAND TOTAL2.97 tons with poly tubing 80lb a cubic ft and 3.71 tons with 100lb a cubic ft
HEAVY PROECTION AROUND BRAIN total is 63.5 cubic ft 2.35 tons at 80lb per cubic ft 2.94 at 100lb per cubic ft
4.5 ft high 5ft wide and 3ft long 67.5 total - 12 inside equals 55.5cubic ft total 2 to 2.5 tons roughly
plus 2x2 1ft tall on top and 2x2x1 on side for extra thickness 8 cubic ft total
VERY HEAVY BRAIN PROTECTION
I did a calculation that was for protection around brain that was 4 or 4.5 ft long so my head and body would go into it 1.5 or 2ft.
The entire back wall was 2ft thick the entire celling was 2ft thick the side walls were 1ft thick. It was 4.1 tons but
. Then the section around the body would be reduced since it takes care of all of that part.
If that part is 1ft thick except for the floor which is .5 ft thick then it would weigh 2.5 tons. Total is 6.6 tons.
None of this was with poly tubing.

TOTAL 12.16 tons at 80lb per cubic ton 15.2 tons at 100lb a cubic ft
Im guessing you can have basalt shipped to you or move it yourself for as little as $100 a ton or $200 a ton
The most you should pay even in the worst locations is about $1000 per ton I think
You can get cheaper shipping with bulk orders and perhaps cheaper if you have a buisinsess buy it for you.
So with 15 tons it would take $1500 to $3000 in the best location and $15000 or less in the worst
with half of that at 7.5 tons it would take $750 to $1500 in the best location and $7500 at most in the worst
If a TI had enough money they could even double this protection in the best location.
You haft to figure out how to have it meet the right building codes for earth homes or whatever.
You might help it to stay up and protect it with fence posts cinderblocks and cement or bricks and cement.
If you have sandbags exposed to the sun put a heavy tarp over them to make them last longer.
For the door perhaps you just take out a 18 inch wide 10 inch tall piece at the bottom and put some frame around it
to hold it up and then after you crawl in you block it up with sandbags of basalt. One thing you might use is basalt
blocks as the frame and you might be able to use some kind of mortar based on sand sized criva or to mix criva with mortar.
Solid basalt blocks havnt been tested yet.
So I'm being forced against my will to use only 2 to 4 tons of basalt even though I have been planning on using 6 or 7 tons to get a full foot around my body and 2ft on the top of my head and behind it that takes up that whole surface.
So I can only make it 6 inches thick for most of it. Its a challenge to try and make close to six inches thick instead of a lot more or less than that. Its a challenge to have it overlap and to block the seams between the bags well enough
with only 6 inches thick. Iv heard that full size 14 inch by 26 inch long sandbags are about 6 to 8 inches thick when full. This already might make it much much thicker if it has to be 8 inches and I dont think they could be pushed together
well enough to erase the spaces between them. Im thinking that to block RNM possibly its more important to have a complete protection lass bad weak points in it then with physical attacks Its important for me thinking its a good test at
least ast his thickness. Use the mini sand bags in a double layer for the roof and floor but I'm still somewhat worried about blocking the cracks well enough and I dont know how thick it will be. Since I already ordered a ton of dust I need to
use that so Ill need to put it in large strong enough plastic bags and then put it in the mini sand bags. Or I could just put it in my 6x9 inch 4 mil plastic bags and tape them closed or use zip lock quart, half gallon or gallon bags from the grocery store
possibly. I could use other plastic bags. I could use small plastic bags and do like 3 offset overlapping layers or something. only one of my 3 or 4 tons is dust.
I dont know how it will go for the side walls If i use the mini sandbags it will only be one layer thick and dont know if the spaces between then can be blocked well enough like that. The wall will be 3.25ft tall when you include the ceiling and the floor
as part of the walls height. My friend told me that's as high as you can build with round gravel and non round gravel you can build a 4ft high wall perhaps but that with normal sandbags not mini ones. I will have the plywood frame on one side and
can put water containers holding up a piece of plywood on the other side and stack them between them though. I dont know if this will work well enough.
I had the idea of using poly tubing. This is a tube of 6 mill or less plastic that you can cut and then seal to create bags. You can just buy the roll though. So I could use to layers of 3 inch wide poly tubing running the entire length of the structure to
create first the basalt floor and then the basalt ceiling. They would be offset so that the second layer blocks the cracks in the first. I dont know if you can mush them or leave some out and then flatten them to cover the cracks better.
I could also use 3 layers of 2 inch thick poly tubing with perhaps the middle layer going crossways. Im thinking Ill put a strip of plywood sticking up 6 inches on either side of it so that it can hold in the tubing on the ceiling and keep it from rolling off the side.
Then I can put one extra piece right on top of the plywood divider to cover the gap between the side wall and the ceiling which end at the same height. I dont know how this would work for the walls. I might need the two pieces of plywood on either side. I dont know if
it would be strong enough especially if I use 6 inch wide tubing. I could fit in smaller tubes where two big tubes join each other. You can seal them with twist ties or a heat gun or a might use zip ties. I dont know what works. One benefit of using these is that
instead of a wall of solid basalt, if the tubes end up round then only 75 percent of the space will be full of basalt saving me weight. I dont understand how it isn't a problem to have any empty space in the wall at all though.
If i put my basalt in poly tube bags and it forms a pretty non flexible cylinder then it might not matter much if I use smaller criva or 3/8 to 5/8 buttons in terms of the flexibility. Since part of my structure will only be 6 inches thick though it might be more important
to keep the rocks small and reduce the gaps between them. Also because im making a complete enclosure and trying to put thicker protection around my brain then your 1ft I I will I will hopefully be able to reduce the RNM and attacks on my brain more then you
can reduce your attacks on you head with your set up. Possibly with RNM and mental attacks blocking the cracks matters more I dont know.

WATER SHIELDING
Method One
This uses 1.25 wide 2.33ft tall 15 gallon cylindrical water containers. I'm thinking I need two layers so that I can offset the first with the second layer on the outside. Each container on the outside has its center blocking the spot where the two containers on the inside layer
meet. This makes a wall of water without weakness I hope. The wall needs to be 3.25f so it needs to be taller. On top of these containers on the inside layer of them is a single row of collapsible 5.3 gallons water containers.
I'm thinking Ill put a plywood between them and the containers underneath them so they can be pushed together and fit closely together and so the different diameter doesn't cause them to go off.
The top of the 15 gallon containers has a spot at the top where there's a gap thats a weakness. Im thinking Ill put 1 gallon water bag there perhaps partially empty to make it more malleable and the weight of
the 5 gallon container will hopefully mush it down so it fills in the uneven gaps in the top of the 15 gallon container. In front of the row of 5 gallon containers on top of the 15 gallon containers Ill put a pool tube to help block the weakness on top of the 15 gallon containers.
Ill overlap these pool tubes at the end in order to create a totally unbroken wall of water. Because the wall needs to be little taller Ill add large fomentek water bags at the top. The large fomentek bag has its top 6 inches lying on top of the 5 gallon container
and its held in place by a couple bricks wrapped in tarp or something temporarily. The bags hang down on the inside and overlap hopefully by 6 inches from bag to bag. Then you put 4 3x6x1.25 giant 140 gallon water bags on top of the structure lying perpendicular
to it. They overlap all the water walls by a foot. Then the pool tubes are put over the gaps between them. When there full you slide your hand under and remove the bricks from the water bags if possible. Or the top could be made of water bags.
Method 2
You use 6 or possibly 8 140 gallon water bags for the main wall of water. There 3ft wide, 6ft long and 1.25ft thick. First you position and fill the 15 gallon containers. You put 4 on the outside of every water bag. They weigh 120lb each and the water bag weighs
1100lb. So with 4 on one side weighing almost half as much as the water bag and the basalt and frame wall on the other side it might keep them standing up well enough. They 15 gallons are 2.33ft high and the water bags are 3ft tall standing on there side so tall
enough to hold them up. Putting another 500lb of sandbags on top of the 4 containers might work well if the water containers arnt enough. You position a 15 gallon in front of the spot where two water bags meet and then put a 5.3 gallon container on top so its
as tall as the water bag. You can also put fomenteck water bags over the crack as well if you can make them stay in place. You could two to shield one end and then two each side. The two on the end extend way outside of the actual area your shielding.
The ones on both sides form a tight wall along with the two on the end but then extend of the other side somewhat. The width of the basalt structure is 4.25ft and the length of the water bag is 6ft. So you could push the two that extend from the side of the end over
.85ft each to make room to fit the final end water bag between them. You might be able to overlap the where the waterbags meet on the lengthwise sides as well. There are different sizes you might be able to use to make it fit better. The roof of the water shielding might
bend down .25ft to meet the wall or you could put fomenteck waterbags on top perhaps. Like with the first method you might need to put something light weight on top of the structure to help prop up the water ceiling that the top of the basalt structure is roughly
level with the top of the water wall. This is a nice method in that you be able to set it up quickly because there you dont have to postion a bunch of things carefully. They just start in the position and it will only take a small number of hours for a garden hose to fill all
the containers from what I read. Its also nice because you can keep better track of the small amount of cracks. You could also use 4 inch fence posts and fence post foam or concrete possibly to hold up the water bladders. You could dig it with a 3 inch auger attached
to a well powered drill instead of using a fence post digger, shovel or a real auger. To protect the fomenteck water bags and the 5.3 gallon constrainers the more delicate ones you could use 1 or two layers of heavy cheap moving blankets.
Hopefully this would block pretty decent air guns and stuff that gang stalkers might try to shoot at them and you could protect it with plywood from the most vulnerable direction. Can also protect them from any natural damage. Then you can put a heavy tarp
to help protect them from the sun. Poly tubing might also work for water shielding especially for the roof where there isnt much pressure on it or for shielding cracks but I dont know about how you close them so no idea if it works.
The water shielding can act as an automatic sound barrior as you build I think and while you test the structure.

HIDING THE STRUCTURE
You could use a pop up gazebo or a more quickly set up greenhouse or possibly a soft storage shed wich is similar if there big enough. You set up the pop up gazebo and then build it inside of it. The gazebo is more respectable and accepted by
landlords and stuff then a big tent or tarp. Put a heavy tarp over the gazebo possibly to protect it from weather and other damage. If the amount of steel or aluminum in it is too much in the gazebo and messes up the shielding you might be able move it off of the
structure with a person or 4 wheeled doly on each leg ( just a random idea).
IMPORTANT TO MOVE WITH URGENCY
The economy will get worse as far as I know and will possibly collapse. Gas prices will rise during the summer at least. Basalt and other materials and items might become less available.
The warm weather will end eventually making it a lot harder to complete a large structure. I certainly feel texteme urgency because of my rapid mental and physical decline and also these reasons.
Also as far as I understand it which is quite limited the world is getting worse and more controling, gang stalking will probably get more alot more empowered and there technology is getting better.
But the best way to move effectively is still to be smart and deliberate to test things as far as I know. It takes time to be smart so you should get started on it.
QUESTIONS
I didnt condense my questions enough i just tried to cover everything mostly even though I must have missed alot of things. I leave it to you to judge what information I need the most and to answer the questions and give other information
in the most helpful way you have time for. What I need urgently is to order my basalt and my water containers and I can figure out the other details as the stuffs on the way. So I need to be able to decide on a rough plan and on a type of basalt so I can order my
basalt. I need to know if water shielding is going to helpful for me and how much water I need.
So I'm trying to block RNM because sinking up there attacks with my thoughts is an incredibly important part of the attacks. I want to block the mental attacks themselves but blocking the RNM will probably be enough to make that stop
by itself. I also need to block them making me feel emotionally numb, low energy, extremely depressed lack a void of happiness chemicals or something and making extremely unintelligent and cant form thoughts. These symptoms all vary at the
same time and seem parts of the same attack. Sometimes when its bad its also very hard to move and I can percieve my body as heavy and stuck and strange. My conciousness is compressed and receads as if I dont extist and I become detatched
Also reduces anxiety. Happened when I was writting this because speaking about it is a trigger for them and I had to wait for find the words. Other TIs talk about similar symptoms.
These symptoms can all change
an extreme amount in just a second since its artificial and they change based on triggers that hold an emotional charge and significance to my attackers.
So i'm only trying to block them attacking my brain.
How should the basalt be around my body compared to around my head?
How thick should it be around my feet compared to my body?
I think you said that you need it double thick above your head and behind it but in the pictures of your set up it showed 1 full crate above and 1 full crate behind the same as the full crate on either side.
Is it true that you need it double thick above and double thick protection behind while in a prone position?
Why is that? Is above more important just because of the angle of attack or that part of the brain?
Is this also going to be true with me whos not trying to block physical attacks? Will my forehead or face or top of head or both be more vulnerable?
Since all im trying to block are the RNM, mental attacks and perhaps nervous system influence ( just totally guessing about that last comment )
In your photos you have pillowcases with basalt on top of the side crates and back crate covering the crack where they meet the top crate. The pillowcases only give you like 3 inches of protection. How does that actually work to block the crack?
Why dont you need basalt to block the vertical cracks between the crates?
I cant get a good handle on why you dont need 2 crates high 2 crates deep and 3 crates wide with one removed for your head to get the protection.
Why dont you need basalt to block the vertical cracks between the crates?
How much do you think the protection varies by thickness? If you double it or half it how much does the protection multiply or divide?
What's the highest amount you think youve divided the attacks by and what was the weakness that stopped you from dividing it further?
Could I divide it more than that and how?
Do you think RNM and mental attacks will require more or less basalt then physical attacks. They seem to be able to intrude on my mind for reading or attacking to a
very unusual degree and none of my shielding tests have effected it at all for many years although I've done some wich might be very strong ones.
WATER SHIELDING QUSTIONS
Do you think I need water with my basalt since it will cost me $1000 or $1500 to $2500? I think i've seen you say it blocks DC heavy pressure. Is that a single type of physical attack or an important aspect of electromagnetism?
What are the chances they could use DC heavy pressure in a mental?
Will all types of attacks be blocked with the combination of basalt and water if you have enough?
is that the magic combination for everyone or just for your physical attacks.
Whats the ratio in thickness of water to basalt for a full shield of water?
How much do you think the amount of time I spend inside it will affect how well it works. Like will spending only 2 hours in it be a lot inferior then being able to spend 24 hours or a week.
What do you think about how to build it?
Do you think it would be ok to use small nail gun nails in the frame since the mainstay bags that you have metal on them?
What are angles of attack and how does it make sense to set up my thicker protection
I need any kind of help you can give me with this project. Iv been working on this plan and this post for 6 to 12 days where the marjority of my work everyday was on it. Then other weeks and months
on similar plans and research on making basalt shielding happen. So it takes me forevor to do anything even though I labor all day during the time im not recovering from it. It doesnt seem like Im capable of
taking in the information on what basalt shields and on the measurments and to figure out how to classify my attacks. I had to make a simple summary of the most simple aspects of using basalt and water
to understand it and that must have taken me a day or more of work to piece together different posts and to organize.

2023.06.02 23:56 Xander_Atten Canonical Endings
So i have only ever played The elder scrolls Skyrim was once told by a big TES player that all the Faction Endings the player can do are all canon.
So does that mean that the Thieves guild will always be restored to its former glory in the next game? Or Miraak will always be defeated. And how does it work with choices like the Dawnguard or dark brotherhood where you choose which side is wiped out? I imagine the Dark brotherhood questline will always be canon since the death of a hated Emperor would he detrimental to the story.
I also think the Civil war Neutral option will be the Canonical ending as itâs referenced alot in the game âSeason Unending or War without endâ

2023.06.02 23:53 sean_k99 Relatively new to data science, and I need some ideas!
Iâm a big basketball fan, and I have two NBA datasets that Iâve been playing with to practice my data analysis skills. One of the datasets is a box score record, so each row is one playerâs stats in one game, and each column is a different statistic. The other dataset is a play by play record, so every row is an individual play in the game, with columns such as play_type, player_name, location coordinates, and time_left. The two datasets are from the same season, so they work together pretty well. Iâve done a lot of pretty simple plots and analysis with these two, but Iâd like to have a more complex project or idea that I could sink my teeth in to help me improve my skills. Any ideas?

As the teams continue to discuss their ideas, Omari sits quietly in the corner, lost in his own thoughts. Granny runs over, panting as Aguacate drops her whip and starts painting her face. "Omari." Granny smiles delicately. "Are you okay?" Omari looks up, snapping out of his reverie. âYes, I'm fine. Just... thinking." Granny raises an eyebrow. "About what?" Omari sighs and looks a bit frustrated. "It's just... I can't help but feel like I'm being labeled as 'stiff' or 'unfriendly' in this competition. It bothers me because I am focused on the crown and doing my best, but people seem to misunderstand me." âStill, with that?â Granny frowns. âIâve been watching this show since it started. But what- what inspired me, what triggered this drive and audition for me- was season 3 was filmed. Jerry Good Drag Queen toured the show and was actually visiting South Africa.â Omari purses his lips. âIâve been doing drag for a while.â Granny nods. âIâve built respect in the African drag scene- itâs small, and I get to travel for it. But when I got there, I was treated with such a lack of respect, like I was nothing, by this DRAG RACE girl- a winner, someone black⊠and you know, I didnât make a big deal of it when she judged, because I didnât want it to be a thing but... I never want to feel like that. Iâm fixated. Iâm not stiff. Iâm just focused, and Iâm going to have fun with this, but- I want the crown, you know?!â Omari exhales. "I hear you, my dear. It's frustrating when others misjudge us based on surface impressions. But let me tell you something, Omari: you are a force to be reckoned with. Your focus, determination, and passion for drag shine through in your performances. And don't forget, the crown is within your reach. You have every right to go after it and claim it for yourself." Granny chuckles. âIf I donât get it first.â Omari looks at Granny, a mixture of gratitude and determination in his eyes. "Thank you, Granny. Your words mean a lot to me. I won't let anyone's misconceptions hold me back. I'll show them what I'm made of. Just with Anthony Martial, the club said it was a muscular tear. Is that going to be a long recovery time for him, or will he be fit for pre-season? âYeah, it's going to be a long one, but how long? We don't know. We have to do more assessments.â
And just looking ahead to the game on Saturday. It's going to be difficult for you with selections. There are going to be certain players who are going to be disappointed. When will you have those conversations? Will you have those conversations with players who will have to be left out of the squad for Saturday? âYes, of course. There will be always be disappointed [players], about the start XI [and] for the bench. But I think it's a normal process in Manchester United and we have to deal with it. The players have to deal with it, the squad have to deal with it. And so I make the choices.â
Having worked with Pep [Guardiola] when you were at Bayern Munich 2, what insight can you give us that makes him so special? âOh, I don't tell. Obviously, we have seen what he's doing. He is doing a brilliant job and what he can do. He can construct teams, not only in winning teams, but also he's winning in a very attractive way. So that's why I think we all admire him.â
Apart from the first time that this club won the European Cup in 1968, the Treble season of 1999 is probably the one thing that Manchester United supporters hold as their own above anything else, which nobody else has ever done it. So I know that you try and play it down, but if you were to stop Manchester City doing that on Saturday, your supporters will sing about this weekend for the next 50 years. Do you have any real appreciation of what that really means? âYes, I know. I know what the thinking is from the [supporters]. But what we want is to restore Manchester United by winning trophies. So on Saturday, we have the opportunity to win a trophy, and we don't want to be distracted by anything. And yeah, if it's important for the fans, then it's important for us. So we will give everything to win the cup.â
Manchester United have won the FA Cup many times, why not use it as extra motivation? Why shy away from it? Why not embrace it as a motivation? âBecause it's not necessary. That will not give more motivation to the team because their motivation is already enough and that can't be more. They want to win a cup and they have an opportunity. They want to set a crown on the season and so what more do you need? What is more motivation?â
When you beat City in January, there was a lot of controversy over the equaliser scored by Bruno Fernandes. Manchester City were obviously unhappy about that. The goal stood. Do you feel that you need to win on Saturday to almost prove that that wasn't down to luck, that victory over City? âI wouldn't explain it in that way because I also seen the xG from that game and it was really our side.â
So you donât feel there was any fortune at all with that decision? âNo, I don't think so. I say when you see the xG in that game it was absolutely on our side.â
And what for you, in your opinion, was the key to beating Manchester City because you made some tactical changes then didn't you? You brought Fred into the starting line-up? What was the key for you to beating them? âThere are many. All big games are always decided by details but there's a plan and the construction of the plan is based on many facts. And you canât point out one that is a major decision and probably a detail like that, that moment in the game. Moments in games decide top games.â
How much did you learn from that 6-3 earlier in the season? Because you said afterwards that Manchester City taught you a footballing lesson and you took the lesson. What did you learn from that defeat? âThat is, I think you can't say learn. You learn always and you learn from that defeat. You learn from the win as well. And but I can't say afterwards that I learned something from that game. So we won the second game. I don't think so.â
Well, after the two games against City this season have created two very different results of 6-3 and the 2-1. What do you think the biggest difference between those two games was? Was it a mentality thing for your players? Was it a tactical thing? How can you go from losing a game 6-3 to then winning one the way you did, 2-1? âThe belief. In the Etihad, we didn't show belief. And I think at Old Trafford, we were determined to win this game from the first moment on.â
Do you see the same belief now ahead of Saturday? âIt's up to us that we show the same belief.â
Itâs United's 62nd match of the season. Obviously, you've had to deal with a lot off the pitch as well. And obviously the demands of Manchester United. How have you found your first season? How draining has it been, or have you enjoyed that challenge? âWell, I enjoyed it definitely. And I think it was a great journey this season, of course. And you always enjoy more when you see the progress of your team. If you see a team is developing, if you see individuals developing and if you work in togetherness [itâs great]. All can confirm this, all three things: like team, the individuals and also the way we work together in this club, it's very good. So for me, so far it's a great season.â
A lot of matches in finals recently have gone some extra time the match last night did as well [Europa League final]. How much of that is a factor in the starting line-up or will it just be a case of putting your best team out from the get-go? âIt's true. Extra time and our team is fit that [we] showed the fitness outputs. So that gives us confidence.â

2023.06.02 23:47 Tart3142 Partner (24m) doesnât want to move with me(24f) so he can ski
My partner and I have been together for 4 years. Itâs always had itâs up and downs. We have lived in CO since knowing each other, both choosing to come to a Colorado uni, from the east coast ,for the outdoors. We have lived together for 2 years.
Recently I have been looking at a career change. My job is intolerable and is slowly allowing me to spiral into a deep sense on unfulfillment and resentment for my choices. I break down daily and after work curl up to preserve the last bits of emotional energy I have left.
I donât have a lot of experience in my desired field so the job market is pretty scarce for me right now. Unfortunately Colorado is not ideal for my job market, as many potential businesses are located in NY/OCA etc. My boyfriend has a great job, that he really enjoys, but is remote.
When I asked if he would be willing to move with me if I got a job in a different state, he only responds with âwell I want to be out here for another ski seasonâ. When I ask if that means heâd rather be long distance than discuss options and places he may find interesting and move together, he responds âwell Iâd prefer for you to live with me, but I guessâ. Iâm not trying to force him to move with me for a potential job- Iâm trying to see if itâs even worth applying to jobs out of state or if this means I loose my boyfriend. Iâve even asked if heâd be willing to sign a 6 month lease instead of 12 so I donât feel like I have to wait out the lease again to find a job and he refuses to talk about it.
So Iâm at this point at 24, debating whether I am expecting too much from a fellow 24 yo to give up his dreams of another Colorado ski season ( I mentioned that both CA and Oregon have reasonable seasons too) for my career or if heâs just being selfish and trying to end the relationship (like when you apply for different colleges but donât discuss staying together and after moving yâall break up).
Our lease is up in a month and I canât stay in this job much longer, so now I have to make a decision. Wwyd?
