2023.06.01 04:02 UnrulliTarulli Do servers work in an offline server?

So I’m playing a non dedicated server with my 1 friend, it’s just a plain old private game in which he started. We just got to unlocking servants in which we had gotten 2. I sent both out on a hunt and we immediately shut the server down after as it was too late and we were going to bed. My friend logged on today and booted the server up and both the servants were back with all materials and everything, hunt successful. Do they work when you’re offline??

2023.06.01 04:01 wq1119 On Jesus' best Schizophrenic Angel's 60th birthday, I am proud to announce The Wesley Willis Archive Project, the internet's digital preservation archive of all of Wesley's live gigs, interviews, films, photos, artwork, and more, made by his fans carrying & preserving his legacy, we love you Wesley!

Salutations to all Wesleyans all around the world, from London to Chicago!
Today, 31 May 2023, is Jesus' Special Schizophrenic Angel's 60th birthday! and as such, after a lot of confused thinking, I have decided that now is the best time to announce this passion project whose objective is to preserve Wesley's legacy for future generations.
As someone who (unfortunately lol) grew up on the "old" internet (sort of, I'm not that old, nor am I claiming to be an oldschool internet geek/expert, I'm probably the youngest user on this entire subreddit), and is very sad at the current state of both the internet and the outside world, having lost so many forums, videos, friends, memories, stories, and games that I grew up on, I have for the past 10 years been very into digital preservation, lost media, and internet archival.
In 2020, when quarantine begun, I used my spare time to delve deeper into the man, the myth, and the legend of Wesley Lawrence Willis, for most that I have sporadically heard of Wesley at least since the early-mid 2010s or so, it was not until around 2018-2019 that I found out about the incredible hellride that is the world of Wesley Willis, reading more about him in detail through a niche underground music forum that has now been shut down, whose thread on Wesley included a poster who claimed to have chatted with him on the Chicago subway and got an autographed artwork by him!
Since Wesley is a very niche outsider musician & artist that has been deceased for almost 20 years now, and most of what we know about him and his music and art comes from what his own listeners recorded, interacted, wrote, and posted on the internet (i.e. things that are prone to being deleted, abandoned, and lost as the internet goes to shit), therefore, I have decided to start a digital preservation project aimed at cataloging and archiving Wesley's beautiful life, because no one has done an organized and comprehensive archive about Wesley yet.
I had been planning this at least since 2020, but due to a variety of health-related things in my life that keep ongoing, I might work on this project sporadically.
I have prepared these archive.org pages for this project so far:
This for his live videos (upcoming)
This for interviews (upcoming)
This for photographs
This for his artworks
This for fan-videos and fanart
This list can, and will keep growing and be organized as time goes on! read below more about this project in the FAQ YOU below that I have prepared because these questions will be inevitably asked, and I will delve into more detail about this project below:

FAQ YOU

Conclusion

Either way, in I did not expected that I would be so much fascinated by a schizophrenic musician who died 20 years ago and made bizarre songs about bizarre topics, but when you look past the myth of Wesley, and see who he was as a person, I am myself a religious guy, and I have no other conclusion other than God himself created and sent Wesley to this forgotten world to preach his message of love and rock n roll!
I am so glad that I found out about Wesley and that there are still people who know about him more than I ever will, since I am Brazilian, and Wesley died when I was still a child, in fact, for years I have been working on a series that features a character directly inspired by Wesley, just like how Wonder Woman already did it 10 years ago., but this time this character is a protagonist, instead of a minor joke character.
I just refuse to let Wesley's legacy die, I want to explore more as to how he would have lived in the present world with what has been going on since then, how he would behave, what songs he would make, the friends and people he would find along his way, Wesley Willis and Rock n Roll forever!, we wish to meet you again one day Wes!
Rock over London
Rock on Chicago!
Wheaties: Breakfast of Champions!

2023.06.01 04:00 miningmyownbiz The Launch of Diablo 4: A Sentimental Journey

Hey, fellow gamers and Diablo enthusiasts,

As I sit here, reflecting on my gaming journey, I can't help but feel a surge of nostalgia and excitement. Tomorrow marks the launch of Diablo 4, and for me, it's not just another game release—it's a profound and sentimental moment. Let me share with you why this day is so special to me.

Back in the day, when I was younger and full of ambition, I found solace in the world of Diablo. Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 became my refuge after long nights working the night shift at a local pizza hut. I vividly remember coming home, exhausted but exhilarated, joining my friends from the pizza hut, and immersing ourselves in the Diablo universe until the sun greeted us once again. Little did I know that these friends would become my lifelong companions, sharing countless memories and forming unbreakable bonds.

Diablo 1 and 2 were not just games to me; they were a defining part of my gaming youth. The hours spent exploring dungeons, battling demons, and delving into the depths of Hell left an indelible mark on my gaming soul. Those were the moments when gaming was more than just a pastime—it was an adventure that we embarked on together, united by a shared passion.

When Diablo 3 was released, it was met with its fair share of issues and controversies. The real money auction house drama, among other problems, left a bitter taste in many players' mouths. But despite all that, Diablo 3 was a game that I poured countless hours into. It may not have been perfect, but it still held a special place in my heart—a testament to the love I had for the Diablo series.

Now, here's where the story takes an even more remarkable turn. By some incredible stroke of fate, I have a relative who works at Blizzard and is part of the Diablo 4 team. Knowing that someone I care about is pouring their heart and soul into bringing this new chapter of the Diablo saga to life fills me with a sense of pride and anticipation. I can only imagine the dedication and passion that must have gone into crafting this game.

But what truly brings tears to my eyes is the fact that my friends, the very same ones I met at that pizza hut all those years ago, have grown up, gotten married, and now have young children of their own. And just like in the good old days, the dads among us are preparing to sit down once again, mouse in hand, and experience the magic of Diablo 4. It's a testament to the enduring power of gaming, the way it can transcend time and responsibilities, and bring people together like nothing else.

So, my fellow gamers, as I eagerly await the launch of Diablo 4, I can't help but feel overwhelmed by the emotions and memories it evokes. This is not just another game; it's a symbol of our shared past, our triumphs, and the friendships that have stood the test of time. It represents the magic that can be found in virtual worlds and the connections we forge within them.

No matter what hurdles the future may bring, nothing can diminish the significance of this moment. Diablo 4 is here, and it's a testament to the love, dedication, and community that surrounds this iconic franchise. In less than 24 hrs, we will embark on a new adventure, together, ready to experience the magic once again.

Hold onto your memories, embrace the present. It's time to write a new chapter in our gaming lives.

I can't wait till tomorrow.

2023.06.01 03:45 mob232 Mig-21 on ECW

Hey guys, I recently got back into DCS after around 2 years. I always liked modern air combat, but everytime I started playing DCS I somehow switched over to IL-2. It just offered much more from the gameplay perspective, I mostly flew on growling sidewinders server because it was always populated, but just airquaking felt pointless after a few weeks. But now there's ECW and it's seems to offer the same experience the popular IL-2 servers do. The summer sale is still one month out, so I have enough time to trial some modules and see what I like. The plan is to get one module + Syria. The first plane I chose was the Fishbed, my trial time ends tomorrow and I logged 18 hours flight time on ecw in the last two weeks, scoring 29 kills and 16 deaths (not counting self kills while learning the fishbed, she's quite mean if not handled gently ). I have a lot of hours in IL-2 and I think that heavily influences the way I fly. I basically fly the Mig like I would fly a FW-190, staying high, diving down on people and extending out if I can't get a kill shot. But I asked myself if this really is the way to go. I normally try to avoid dogfighting in the Fishbed, I know the F-5s have the upper hand in maneuverability and the bad cockpit visibility gives me a really hard time, I just loose visual after the merge because I can't look back. The result is that I can't hold my own when I get jumped by someone with an energy advantage. It's not that I don't like the way I fly the Mig-21, I'm having a blast and am quite successful in her. I just wonder how other players make her work, are there other interesting tactics that might be worth exploring? My trial time ends tomorrow and the next to weeks will either be Mig-19 or F-5. They both seem to have a questionable reputation, I'd prefer to stay on the red site, but the maneuverability of the Tiger II could be interesting. Which one do you prefer?
Greetings! =)

2023.06.01 03:45 scracer14 Returning player with a couple questions

Played a Hunter main back in SoA, and through Lothlorien before taking a 12 ish year break. I was on Silverlode and unfortunately lost most of my toons when they closed those servers down.
Tried Treebeared and liked the slower pace but recently moved my character to Arkenstone since it was a bit TOO lonely on Treebeard. Now I'm 42 on my Loremaster, and still trying to take it a bit slow for on level content. I really liked Angmar, and the Mistly Mountains through Moria when it was new.
Questions: 1. Missions, the rewards for the weekly quests are great, but are they worth grinding past 45 / week for the weekly quest?
I turn off XP while running them so I dont overlevel. Anything past 45 per week is just more rep/barter tokens, at 130 will I be glad to have made a grind of it?
Any particular group of missions that's MORE beneficial than the rest?
  1. Skirmishes, these were the missions back in the day. Are they pretty much worthless now besides XP and some seemingly very difficult / grindy deeds?
Again, I'm happy to pass on them and level slow, but don't want to get stuck without critical rep or barter items at 130.
  1. Expansions, I'm VIP, and bought Fate of Gundabad. Am I missing anything worthwhile not buying the Before the Shadow xpack before I get to max level?
I think that about covers it. Definitely enjoying being back and re-experincing middle earth!

Overview
Modded Minecraft Club is a community driven network of multiple modded Minecraft servers. These servers are run by our excellent staff, some of whom have run Minecraft servers since Beta 1.6. Our goal with MMCC is to establish a mid-sized, healthy, community around Modded Minecraft. To accomplish this goal, all griefing is forbidden, griefed or bugged items will be refunded, there is no tolerance for disrespect among community members, and there are written and enforced moderator guidelines to protect against power-tripping staff.
Whitelist
In general, a whitelist is ineffective at preventing bad guys from joining the server, creates unnecessary administrative work, and creates a barrier to legitimate players. Since launch, we have assumed everyone is a legitimate community member from the beginning while also keeping strong anti-grief controls in place. This has been very successful, with very few occurrences of grief because, almost all because the player did not claim their build. If you want to join, come right in!
Rules & Moderator Guidelines
To ensure that we can easily change rules and let players know about the changes, we do not keep the server rules in our advertising posts. Instead, you can view this page on our website that serves as the one true source for the server’s rules. In addition to server rules like most servers have, we also have written and enforced moderator guidelines that are in place to prevent both ineffective moderation and power tripping moderators. If you feel that a moderator has violated these guidelines, you can contact the owners ([email protected], [email protected]) for a swift resolution.
Minimal Server Lag
The servers are located in a professional datacenter in Falkenstein, Germany. They run on a dedicated server with an i9-9900k CPU, 64 GBs of RAM, and a 1000 mbps guaranteed internet speed (both up and down). For full server specifications, see the Hetnzer EX62-NVMe. Many servers make outlandish claims about their complete lack of lag, and many don't have any lag at that moment. What they lack is a future commitment to quickly and effectively solve any and all lag problems that may arise, to the greatest extent that is possible given the realities of modded Minecraft. Extra Notes
We aim for 24/7/365 uptime, although, there are occasional automatic restarts ensure stability and to make modifications along with crashes that come with modded Minecraft. If you have any other questions, feel free to join our Discord server!

2023.06.01 03:40 switchcollector Question about torrenting on RealDebrid.

I want to ask how does exactly torrenting work in Real Debrid? I have All-Debrid, and it downloads torrents to its servers, then uploads them to up2box and you get to download the links from up2box. Downside is if the files are deleted from up2box, the torrent becomes expired you must let the All-Debrid redownload it again.
Is it the same on Real? Or files go to Real’s servers forever? I am asking because if that is the case, it means almost every torrent on rarbg (especially TV packs) are stored and cashed already on Real-Debrid. (Still suffering from RARBG shutting down, thus why I am asking this question here). If Real-Debrid does not upload files to a website like up2box, then i guess i might subscribe to Real.

2023.06.01 03:34 harry-jg How to Pay Hulu Outside in USA

Can't access Hulu outside the United States? It's as if the universe has conspired against you, demanding you provide a US credit card and asking you to physically be in the country. This becomes particularly vexing when you're on a vacation in, say, Paris, and all you want is to binge-watch your favourite show while munching on a croissant. Turns out, renewing your subscription can be as complicated as explaining the plot of a time-travel movie to your grandmother.
So here's the trick: You need a VPN. Hulu, being the sly fox that it is, looks at your IP address to see if you're within the good ol' USA. But a VPN, with its digital cloak of invisibility, lets you masquerade as a Yank, regardless of your actual whereabouts. Meaning, you could be sipping sake in Tokyo or riding a camel in Egypt, but Hulu will think you're eating apple pie in the heartland.
Through diligent labour, my team and I scrutinized over 60 VPNs designed to finagle Hulu's geoblocks. And standing tall among the crowd, we have ExpressVPN. It's the Brad Pitt of VPNs, offering multiple US servers and lightning-fast speeds to let you access Hulu without as much as a hiccup. And just to sweeten the deal, you can take ExpressVPN for a spin without any risk, as it's protected by a 30-day money-back guarantee. If it doesn't tickle your fancy, getting your money back is as easy as pie.
Getting Cozy with Hulu Globally: A VPN's Role in Your Streaming Escapades
Ever tried to access Hulu outside the United States? It's like attempting to communicate with a mime—nearly impossible and often met with an unamused silence. Hulu, with its treasure trove of binge-worthy content, unfortunately, dons an armor of licensing restrictions that keep it securely tethered to the Land of the Free. Its digital gatekeepers, aptly called geoblocks, detect the non-US IP address and give you a digital cold shoulder. And if you thought that's the end of your woes, there's more! Setting up a new Hulu account would need a US credit card, a hurdle that's hard to leap.
In these dire times, one can count on the prowess of a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Picture a VPN as a savvy undercover agent, masterfully disguising your IP address as if you're lounging on a couch somewhere in New York, even when you're actually sunbathing in Barcelona. A VPN juggles your internet traffic, directing it through a server of your choice, thereby replacing your original IP address with a shiny new one from the chosen location. This high-tech sleight of hand can bamboozle streaming platforms into thinking you're within their allowed borders.
In layman's terms, pick a VPN server located in the US and voila! You get a US IP address. When Hulu gazes upon this borrowed IP, it believes you're a proud dweller of Uncle Sam's land, lifting the barriers. Suddenly, signing up, renewing subscriptions, and accessing your beloved Hulu shows become a cakewalk, no matter where on the globe you're perched.
ExpressVPN
Imagine you're trying to sprint a marathon on stilts - pretty inconvenient and unstable, right? Now swap those stilts with a pair of world-class running shoes, and suddenly you're Usain Bolt. That's precisely the upgrade ExpressVPN offers when you're trying to subscribe to Hulu or streaming in Ultra High Definition.
In a test of virtual athleticism, ExpressVPN's New York, Dallas, and Chicago servers gave a stunning performance. Clocking in at an average speed of 91 Mbps, they fell only a hair short of my prime 100 Mbps connection. It’s like running a race and placing a close second to a cheetah. Given that you need merely a humble 25 Mbps to stream in UHD, this VPN crosses the finish line with excessive energy to spare. Even when I indulged in a hair-raising episode of American Horror Story, buffering was a foreign concept.
In addition to its impressive speed, ExpressVPN offers a roster of 24 US locations, akin to a digital buffet of options for connecting to Hulu on your world travels. Even from the other side of the world (9,153 km away, to be exact), my New Jersey server stood like a steadfast guard, ensuring my connection remained unbroken.
What's more, ExpressVPN’s MediaStreamer acts as a secret decoder ring, enabling you to watch Hulu on devices that usually don't shake hands with VPNs. PlayStation, Xbox, or even that one smart TV you got at a Black Friday sale years ago; all can be brought into the fold. The setup process was quicker than making a microwave popcorn bag. Simply jot down a code from your ExpressVPN account dashboard, feed it into your smart TV’s network settings, and voila! I found myself catching up on Hulu shows on my antiquated Samsung Tizen TV with no hiccups.
While ExpressVPN might ask for a few more pennies than its fellow VPN services, the sheer performance justifies the price tag. It's like paying extra for a VIP concert ticket - you're assured of the best experience. And with a 30-day money-back guarantee, you can test drive it on Hulu, no strings attached. And if you decide it's not your cup of tea, their customer support is there to process your refund without quibble. They’re rather nice about it, really.
CyberGhostVPN
Picture CyberGhost as the highly competent butler of your digital mansion, ensuring a seamless Hulu streaming experience. This ace up the VPN sleeve not only provides fast and reliable connections but serves them with a silver platter specifically designed for Hulu. Imagine a world where buffering is as extinct as dial-up internet, all thanks to CyberGhost’s Hulu-optimized servers. I frolicked in this paradise while renewing my subscription using their Miami server.
Using CyberGhost's Hulu-optimized servers is like walking through an automatic door; it's a breeze. The interface is as user-friendly as a Labrador puppy. A simple peck on your keyboard typing "Hulu" in the search bar under the "For streaming" tab, and you're given a list of servers that are specially designed to work magic on Hulu. Better still, some of these servers have undergone a digital personal training regimen to optimize their performance for Fire Stick and Android TV specifically.
While CyberGhost may not be as predictably consistent as ExpressVPN, akin to a weather forecast, its connections still hold strong. Think of it like a relay race with the US, UK, and Australia servers, each passing the baton without letting the speed dip below an 82 Mbps average. I was treated to uninterrupted feasts of "Santa Evita" and "House of the Dragon" in Ultra High Definition, without so much as a single awkward pause or hiccup.
Private Internet Access
Imagine a scenario where you have a myriad of IP addresses at your disposal for streaming Hulu like a monarch, that's exactly what PIA offers. This VPN is a playground teeming with server options in the US, reducing your chances of being in the middle of an overcrowded digital mosh pit. Trust me, you'd prefer your own breathing room when renewing your Hulu subscription, which I did with as much ease as butter sliding off a hot knife. With such an extensive server network, you have a buffet of alternative routes should Hulu unexpectedly pull the roadblock on one.
What sets PIA apart from the crowd is its penchant for personalization. Think of it as the bespoke suit of VPN apps. This little wonder comes with an array of widgets that are as flexible as a yoga instructor, ready to twist and bend to suit your interface aesthetic. Additionally, it hands you the reins of encryption, allowing you to choose between the Fort Knox of security - the AES 256-bit encryption, or the slightly more fleet-footed but still quite secure AES 128-bit encryption.
Now, this plethora of customization options could be a bit like being lost in a tech version of Narnia for the newly initiated. It's a lot to take in. But give it a little time, a few exploratory clicks and swipes, and you'll find the app's interface becomes as familiar and easy to navigate as your favorite neighborhood bistro.
Five Secret Passages to Hulu Land Without a US Credit Card in 2023
Juggling through the nuances of signing up for Hulu, especially without a US credit card, can make your head spin faster than a hamster on a wheel. So let's pop the lid off Pandora's box and unveil the five undercover methods to bring Hulu to your fingertips.
Before you sprint into action, let's cross off a couple of quick checks:
Make sure to equip yourself with a VPN. Any VPN on my coveted shortlist should do the trick, but I would tilt my hat towards ExpressVPN. It zips along at breakneck speeds and boasts a generous offering of US servers to select from
Now you're in the right gear, but you need to be in the right place. As Hulu only pays house visits to those who reside in the US (virtually, of course), that's where you should connect.
With these quick checks done and dusted, you're ready to proceed. Brace yourself as we unveil the five secret scrolls to gain access to the tantalizing world of Hulu.
MyGiftCardSupply: Your Key to Unlock Hulu's Magic Box
A Hulu gift card from MyGiftCardSupply is your golden ticket to the land of unlimited entertainment.
Step 1: Buying a ticket. Venture into the online bazaar of MyGiftCardSupply, and procure a Hulu gift card ranging from $25 to $100. The amount depends on how deep you want to dive into the ocean of Hulu content. Be sure to sign up if you haven't already - think of it as a friendly handshake.
Step 2: Sniff out the code. Once the gift card purchase is complete, you'll receive an email with the precious code. Open it, and gently copy the code.
Step 3: Claim your prize. Stride confidently to Hulu's redemption page, type in your hard-earned code, and create your account. Do remember to use a US address and zip code when signing up – they are quite particular about that.
Step 4: Let the show begin. Slide into Hulu's log-in page and gently type in your shiny new credentials.
Step 5: The Grand Finale. Now it's time to sit back, relax, and bask in the glory of endless entertainment on Hulu. Step into your personal streaming universe and enjoy the show!
Hitching a Ride on iTunes US: Your Unconventional Route to Hulu
Now, let's stroll down a different route, this time, a path known as 'iTunes US.'
Step 1: Set up camp in the Land of Apple. Visit Apple's website and pitch your digital tent by creating a new account. Consider this your personal American outpost in the universe of iTunes.
Step 2: Stock up on provisions. Replenish your digital coffers either directly through iTunes or via a US iTunes gift card, which is akin to your secret stash of apple cider in the cellar.
Step 3: Summon Hulu. Type "Hulu" into the search bar and download the app. Much like calling a pet, it'll come running and install itself onto your device.
Step 4: Enter the realm of Hulu. Use your iTunes funds to either get a shiny new plan or renew an existing subscription, and then log into your Hulu account. This is you officially checking into the grand Hulu Hotel.
Step 5: Savour the spectacle. With all these steps complete, you're now in a position to pay for and enjoy your Hulu account. It's time to kick back and indulge in the smorgasbord of entertainment that Hulu has to offer.
Hopping onto the Hulu Train with a Prepaid US Card: A Thrifty Globetrotter's Guide
Let's now venture down a pragmatic avenue, namely the 'Prepaid US Card' route.
The first station is "Prepaid US Card Central". You'll need to navigate your way to VISA or MasterCard, where you can choose your ticket – the prepaid card.
Next, we arrive at "Funds Station". Here, you need to fuel up your prepaid card. This can be done directly or by transferring money from your bank account, given that your card of choice supports such cheery transfers.
Having acquired your ticket and made sure it's packed with funds, it's time to board the Hulu Express at the "Hulu Account Terminal". Here, you'll need to check-in, select a subscription plan, and jot down the necessary particulars.
We're almost there. The last stop before you start your entertainment journey is "Registration Point". Here, you pay for the service using your shiny new prepaid card. Now, if this doesn't work for some reason, perhaps the ticket machine is being obstinate, don't fret – just try the gift card method instead.
With the ticketing process complete, you're all set to start watching. It's time to sit back, kick off your shoes, and let the Hulu Express whisk you away into a world of non-stop entertainment, right outside of the USA.
PayPal Your Way to Hulu Paradise: A Modern Maverick's Approach
Welcome to the "PayPal method", a trail favored by modern mavericks, digital nomads, and online shopping aficionados.
Begin this journey by constructing your own digital finance fortress – a PayPal account. You'll need to swing by PayPal and ensure you're setting up a US account. Now, it's imperative that you get this right, because Hulu can be a bit snobbish when it comes to foreign PayPal accounts. If setting up a US PayPal account starts to feel like trying to lasso a greased pig, simply revert to our old reliable – the gift card method.
Having established your PayPal account, you're now ready for the next leg of the journey. Head on over to Hulu, strut your stuff, and log in using your credentials.
Next up, it's time to pay the piper... or rather, the subscription. If your account is a newborn, fresh out of the internet womb, you can also kick off a free trial.
With these steps accomplished, it's time to kick back and start watching. Dive headlong into the ocean of your favorite Hulu shows, and swim around in the thrill of it all.
StatesCard: Your Magic Carpet Ride to Hulu Bingeing
Behold, the wonders of StatesCard, the 21st-century magic carpet ride to the land of Hulu bingeing!
Your journey starts at the port of StatesCard, where you'll need to carve out your digital presence by clicking the "Sign Up" button. Having successfully become a part of the club, add a little bit of that digital money to make it official.
Your next stop is Hulu. Log in with your carefully crafted credentials or take a bold step and create a whole new identity for yourself (strictly on Hulu, of course).
Once settled in, it's time to pay the virtual ferryman. Use the card information you secured from your new friend, StatesCard, to pay for or renew your Hulu subscription. If you do this right, you'll have successfully purchased your ticket to endless entertainment.
Having accomplished these milestones, you're now fully armed and ready to embark on the Hulu adventure. Sit back, relax, and let the world of your favorite Hulu shows envelop you.

2023.06.01 03:30 haperochild I don't think my friend has any respect for me.

This has been a really uncomfortable realization to come to, but I don't really have anywhere else to talk about it. I (25F) don't know what's going on with my friend (23F), but over the last few years they've really become a strikingly different person. There are 2 main ways that this has manifested that weigh on me the most.
Mostly, whenever they ask for solutions to a problem or discussion on something, they stonewall and tell me I'm wrong, and then lecture me on why I'm wrong, but then will seemingly agree with whatever anyone else says.
Example: In the past month we've been planning for a trip to a fair where we're sharing a table, and the friend who offered to drive said that he was worried his car might stall while driving through a particular stretch of the trip. I suggested we all get together and rent a car for the weekend, to alleviate that concern. Their exact words were, "Oh, so you're rich? You have all the money to do that? Wow!" And I just went, "No, I was thinking we would split it. I'm just concerned about the possibility that we'll get stalled somewhere." (I calculated it, and for the time and distance, it would be $75 per person, even cheaper depending on which company we used.) And then proceeded to spend an hour telling me that that was a stupid idea, it's an unnecessary expense, and that by asking them to tell me what we'll do if our friend's car DOES stall I'm making them anxious "for something they've never considered before." I just gave up. (They then suggested we rent a car about 3 weeks later anyway, saying if we all pitch in, it's cheap!)
This was about a month ago, but since then they seem to stonewall me whenever I suggest or critique anything.
The more recent problem is them telling me repeatedly they find my expression of attraction disgusting. We're both queer people; they're not attracted to men, and I am. On the surface, they're like, "You shouldn't tell people their attraction is wrong, they can't help it!" But when I say a certain celebrity or person I've seen on TikTok is attractive, they react like I've just tazed them and tell me that it's "exhausting." They even went so far as to say, "Are you really bisexual? You never talk about being attracted to women, you only ever talk about men." (I have never questioned their lack of sexual attraction, or their romantic attraction to women.)
Example: I said I thought a streamer I had recently followed was good-looking, and he's funny, so I was starting to develop a little Parasocial Crush on him. They felt the need to remind me that he's a lot older than me, and then said if I were to ever pursue a relationship with someone that old they will never speak to me again, in the most serious tone I've ever gotten from them.
Another example: Me and our other friend will often throw jokes back and forth that get kind of blue. This friend will start screaming, "NO!!! NO!!!!" and then say that they're leaving the call/jumping out of the cagoing home. This is their reaction to anything from mild innuendo to that is actually objectionable to someone else.
Then there's just the general lack of compassion.
Example: In our Discord server, we have a channel just for talking about serious stuff (deaths, illness, etc.). I've been trying to deal with my fear of dying alone. I know that, logically, this is irrational. But early childhood trauma (that continued into early adulthood) really cemented that thought pattern in my brain, so occasionally normal logic fails and I start getting really depressed. My friend started taking me talking about this as an invitation to make fun of me, and tell me that I'm being "so dramatic" and "it feels like I have a problem every other day!" When I told them to knock it off, they said, "I'm just trying to show you not to take things so seriously. I'm not taking it seriously, so why should you?"
Another example: I've been trying to get my license so I'm not so dependent on everyone to drive me places. I feel horrendously guilty taking up so much of my friends' time when I do. My friend has now taken to reminding me that other people are driving when we go places or hang out, and it's not up to me to decide how far is too far. I just had it and said, "Okay, so when I get my car, I'm not taking you anywhere." (At that point we had already been beefing on whether to go get this game they've been begging me to get, and they had been stonewalling me AND our friend who offered to drive the whole time, so I was just over it.) To which they said, "Wow, your mean jokes read even worse over text."
I was beginning to think that I'm just my friend's punching bag, and that somewhere down the line they got the idea that it's fine to treat me like this. But then they talked about how hard they were trying to be a better person (in relation to something else, I can't remember exactly), so I thought maybe I was just being overly sensitive. Then I went on an errand run with our other friend, who then said (without me having brought up what I'm feeling) that this was happening to them too. I felt really sad, because nobody should be getting treated like that by a friend, but a little relieved because I was beginning to think I was going crazy.
The real breaking point was earlier today, when I asked if doing a niche box of curated items would be a good idea (kind of like the ones people do where they roll a polyhedral die for each item). Their response was (essentially), "Well, nobody knows who you are. How can they trust you?" They then likened what I proposed without already having a consumer-base and brand recognition to someone scamming people for commissions (accepting payment and a product without showing anyone their other work). I didn't bother to tell them that a personal book recommendation isn't the point. It's the novelty of having a box compiled completely by chance, surrounded around a central theme. It didn't feel like they would have listened anyway.
I have no idea how to proceed with this. I've told them before how uncomfortable their behavior makes me, and they told me that either I'm too sensitive or they didn't mean to step on my toes. I'm just really tired. I thought I was over this. For God's sake, I'm 25. Don't people eventually stop behaving like petty children? Making and keeping friends as an adult is already difficult. I don't need this to make it even harder. Luckily, I have other friends outside this friend group that I can depend on to affirm good things for me, and help me through bad things. This is just really weighing on me.

2023.06.01 03:17 AddMeOnReddit Networking/Port Forwarding Question

Hey everyone,
Coming here because I am truly at a loss at what to do, I have a home server running Ubuntu 22.04, where I use it for some homegrown software projects & media server.
I have an HTTP server I host on port 9999 - it is secure and I like to use it remotely, so I have my router port forwarding set up for it. This has worked for a long time, as it's usually pretty trivial.
However, since I installed nordvpn, which installs openvpn, I cannot get to my server any longer, via it's public IP. Nord VPN requires disabling ipv6, which I thought may have been the issue, but no change after re-enabling. I've since uninstalled everything nordvpn, openvpn, and whatever I can remember that might mess with incoming network requests.
Even stranger, if I run nmap -sT $publicIp from another machine, I see port 9999 open, and designated as an abyss service. So I know it is running, open, and even viewable from the outside. Running curl --http0.9 http://$publicIp:9999/ yields a curl: (56) Recv failure: Connection reset by peer error, so I know it is getting into somewhere. I've checked the server's and router's firewall, nothing set. SSH'ing to the public IP works just fine, so it something unique to HTTP requests.
I've googled up and down for this issue, and tried many things, but nothing has fixed it! Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

2023.06.01 03:15 Balkanoboy Recalling the Legendary Days: A Tale of Medal of Honor Clan Adventures

Hey fellow gamers,
I can't help but feel nostalgic as I reflect on my unforgettable Spearhead gaming adventures from 20 years ago. Back then, I was a proud member of the Lords of Clan Tribe (LcT), a remarkable alliance of clans led by one chief. Those TeamSpeak days were truly something special. My gaming alias during that time was Reality.
At the age of 13, I joined the founding clan (D2?) as a Private, and with dedication and skill, I quickly climbed the ranks, eventually achieving the rank of Lt. General in the Xtreme Deadly Clownz (xDc) clan. I was like 13 and I was in charge of people decades older than me.
However, things took an unexpected turn when the xDc generals had a fallout with our chief. Suddenly, I found myself in a private chat with Chief Surge, who asked me to make a decision: stay or leave. In a moment of clarity, I chose to leave alongside my loyal generals.
I vividly recall sitting at my computer, tears streaming down my face, as a 40-year-old man finished his super serious video game conversation with my 14-year-old self after requesting me to leave the TeamSpeak server.
Leaving the LcT tribe behind, my friends BoBo, the DarkKnight, and I embarked on a new gaming adventure of our own. We established our own independent clan, MiA (missing in action).
Now, all these years later, I can't help but yearn to reconnect with those incredible individuals who shared countless epic moments with me. We had a website, forums, and all that good stuff. If anyone could pull up our old memories on archive.org, I would be eternally grateful. Some of these details are fuzzy I need to proof my memory.
Let's relive those glory days together!

2023.06.01 03:14 bookoocash “Connection to Server is Not Fast Enough” even when playing locally.

Not sure what the deal is. I have a 2020 Mac Mini with an M1 chip. It’s got 8gb memory and no more than 4.8 ever seems to be in use. I’m streaming 1080p at the highest. Even locally, it still happens. Just did a test and my download speeds are 160.12mb and my upload speeds are 11.74mb.
I’ve been told in the past that it’s likely my server, but basically everything is playing direct so I don’t think it’s really that. Starting to wonder if I need a new router and modem. I currently have a Netgear R6230 router and a Netgear CM500. The network connection is in our dining room at the front of the house and my server is down in the basement connected via a Netgear wifi extender. We live in an approximately 100-120 year old brick rowhome.

2023.06.01 02:51 Adm1noftheuniverse With regards to GrandTheftMinecart...

I've just heard about Mojang banning guns from servers, which is just straight up tyrannical. But what I'm more concerned about is why GrandTheftMinecart just.. obeyed? They worked with Mojang to comply with unjust rules? Just laid down and submitted? Like I get that Mojang can blacklist them, but isn't it better, and doesn't it send a better message to just go around the blacklist entirely with software of some sort? I've found something called "SquidHQ" that does something of the sort though I don't entirely comprehend it. If people just comply with Mojang, then they'll just do it again.

2023.06.01 02:41 hs_serpounce anyone else get frozen out of Diablo 4 forums?

I played both beta's and server slam and have been posting on the Diablo 4 forums for a while but I know they are restricted based on your account because I'm only allowed to post in console discussion.
Right now I just noticed I can't seem to post. The last post on the console discussion forum was 3 hours ago, but the last post on pc forums was a minute ago.

I haven't preordered the game with my blizzard account because I'm playing couch coop with my wife and we bought it on her account so she could access the battle pass for cosmetics. Did they just freeze out everyone who doesn't currently have the game on their account?

*Update* Also have a big red button on the upper right that says "prepurchase" . Maybe they aren't being very subtle
