So, it‘s about time to gear up, and i have questions. I like this sub more than the bigger ones, so i‘ll ask you beautiful people.
I live in austria, so owing guns is entirely possible/not that difficult, but which ones/where/what fohow many is heavily regulated.
I want an AR, because cool, because versatile, because mods, and because sports.
So i have a sport shooter license, which entitles me to however many bolt actions/lever actions/double barrel shotguns i can safely store (no pump action though, those are of satan himself). I can also own 2 semi automatic/revolving guns. Guns cant have larger than 20 rnd mags (no that important here). Any semi auto long gun can not have a magazine larger than 10 rounds attached to it. A larger long gun mag is classified as a weapon of war itself and illegal. Attaching a 20 rnd glock mag to a PCC turns everything magically into a felony. Thats just to limit some otherwise good, but sadly illegal ideas.
Currently i have a glock 44 i love shooting, and a arex delta i love more. I‘m planning to sell the glock and get something larger to open up some more avenues of the sport.
Guns overall are an expensive hobby, so prices are usually a 500-1000€ higher that what you would pay for the same gun in the US.
I have narrowed down to two models based on reviews, availability and price. But pribably you can help me to decide ir what i might need else to have a more enjoyable experience.
That would be A the Sig M400 enhanced carbine for 1499€ and B the Ruger AR556 for 1399€.
Of course add a decent red dot, some mods, extra mags, ammo.
The biggest extra would be a 22lr drop in conversion kit for the smaller range (they offer better classes), and the longest range i can go to is 100m anyway.
Intended use is recreational plinking, general gun handling experience (i‘m planning to take some jobs in less safe places of the world in the future, and i would be around people with guns. Would like to be proficient enough to not be as scared), and hopefully the occasional local IPSC and IDS competition soon.

Paid $450 CAD ($329 USD) 2nd isn't a milsurp but I'll include it since it was also in my winnings, it's a Stevens Model 14 1/2 rolling block .22lr, made in the early 1900s. Paid $250 CAD ($183 USD) 3rd is my big score of the auction, a Canadian Ross Mk.2***. This one being marked with the US Flaming Bomb indicating its one of the 20k sent to the US as a training rifle. And ironically enough ended up back in Canada after its time in the hands of the US Military. Its got a mismatched handguard and the stock has been lightly refinished (although all markings are still present). Paid $1525 CAD ($1113 USD) And finally a Swiss 1871 Vetterli. I am getting a custom Ruger 10/22 made and I plan on using it as a lightweight squirrel hunting / varmint type gun. I will run it suppressed and only shoot subsonic ammo out of it. I saw this relatively cheap BDC scope for subsonic .22LR loads and it seems like just the ticket. I was just going to ask how well the reticle holds work with subsonics? Has anybody ever used this scope? If so, can you tell me how well it does for different subsonic loads?
I have a good amount of Norma TAC - 22 Subsonics. But this ammo shoots at 1017FPS. Which I don’t think will work with this scope. Plus I was going to try out CCI Suppressor (45gr. 970FPS) and CCI Semi-Auto Quiet (45gr. 835FPS). I know you can turn the zoom down to fall into place on the metric scale. I wish you could somehow adjust it to shoot slower FPS shooting subsonics. If anyone knows how to do this let me know.

I’m looking for an Alienware laptop that is built like a premium machine and is around 15 inches. Build quality for me means good cooling, great performance and good longevity.
Something around $1000-$2000.
I’ve been researching around and it sounds like the m15 R4 has the perfect balance of what I want, but I’m unsure on buying an older model.
I’ve also taken a look at the x15 R2 and it sounds like a good candidate, but I’ve read a concerning amount of reviews and comments about its lackluster cooling and its fans being loud.

I'm looking into getting a squirrel gun in either .22LR or 410 (I know what I'll go with if I go the 410 route). Ive always used my 20 gauge to hunt squirrels but I'd like something smaller that I can also plink around with. The two that have jumped out to me in .22 is the Rossi Rio Bravo or the Winchester Wildcat. Thoughts on those two or any other suggestions? I'd like to keep the price of the rifle itself below $400.
