So been gaming since D1 days. Been limiting my gaming cause job plus online courses. Was interested in D4 but not enough to purchase it at launch.
I'm mostly into stories during gaming since I got started with LucasArts adventures and Final Fantasy games. So went through D4 on Youtube and don't have all the details but know that the full story isn't released. Should I just wait till the whole thing is released to enjoy the story in full? I've heard they'll be releasing story content quarterly but for how many years?
Quality of life? I heard there was no pets and livestreams look like there isn't lootgrab like in D3. Am I reading that right?
I have some research to do on leveling, gear, and skill mechanics. But how do you feel overall about the gameplay? Any particular aspect that hit the dopamine right?
Is this game ok for someone on a busy schedule? I probably only game on the weekends at night when I'm not catching up on shows. Otherwise work, courses, chores (house and landscape).

Situation: Agenda Phase - Minister of Exploration gets pulled, Player 1 (Argent Flight) plays Politics Rider ( You cannot vote on this agenda. Predict aloud an outcome of this agenda. If your prediction is correct, draw 3 action cards and gain the speaker token.) and the vote is taken. Player 1 predicts that player 1 will win the vote. The vote is taken and Player 2 wins the vote. Player 1 then plays Confusing Legal Text (Choose 1 player. That player is the elected player instead.).
Result: After a disagreement over how the cards would play out and an internet search to see if there was a definitive answer to the question, the table agreed that Player 1 should be considered the elected player and receive all of the benefits of all of the cards including becoming speaker and gaining ownership of the law card.
Question: Is this the correct ruling or does the combo fall apart somewhere and produce different results? I was the player trying to pull off the shenanigans and I want to make sure we ruled correctly. It seemed obvious to me when I played it and was surprised that it could be read any other way, but I am new to TI4 and really want to make sure I have the rules down as much as I can. Kudos to my group for addressing it like they did. It's a great group of players and we had an amazing game.

First of all I should say that English is not my first language and I am very sorry if I didn't write everything properly. I made this with the intention of learning from this experience and see if I was wrong in this situation and I am very sorry if this post is hard to read because of it's lenght. During end of Fall I (23M) met a girl (20F) because I was early to an exam and had to wait for 2 hours. She opened the conversation and we chatted for an hour and had a good time and exchanged info. She also said that something must be wrong with me from a mental state because I am not a womanizer, I didn't try to sleep with her, that I don't drink and don't smoke (she noted that it was weird because I live in a Balkan Country where almost everyone drinks, but I have a medical condition). I walked her where she lived because it was quite late and then we hugged and said that we wanted to keep going like this. We started talking almost daily, playing game together, she introduced me to her friends and I introduced her to some of mine. As we spend more time together over the months she would often come to my place (I live alone) to play game, chat and eat. Very late in one night we talked about some things that led to another and then she told me about her situation. She was impressed that I didn't want anything from her because she was recently dumped by her boyfriend during the end of Summer. She said to me that her boyfriend wasn't a bad guy but she didn't take care of her, his friends made fun of her because of him and that sometimes when she didn't want to have sex with her he forced it. She then said the thing that keeps her from being in a relationship with me was that I would cheat on her and that I would not love her. I said to her that it's normal to think that because we haven't spend so much time to know each other so well and I assured her that I would never cheat because I really can't stand cheating and destroying the life of another person. I asked her if she could love me for who I am and then said that she does not know if I have a chance to get with her because she may go back to her ex-boyfriend that made her feel bad her or another person in her life. She then cried that the day before she almost killed herself. I tried to hug her and tell her that I can be there for her and she does not need to have those kind of thoughts. After a minute she then angerly said that she does not like being touched, she only likes to touch the person she is in love with and that never buy her flowers. After a few hours I bought her and Uber because she wanted to go home. I started talking with my friends about this situation and all of my friends told me that I should not go any further with her, not met her quite as often and study (for my final year at university). I chose to not go out with her so often and just stay in touch and be there if she needs me. One night we went to the club with some of my friends and one of my friends (who is a lesbian) wanted me to know if the girl that I am with is single. I told her that she technically is (because we are not in a relationship) but told her that she is traumatized and not ready for one. She told me that she would want to me to give her my VR headset for 3 days to try it and I did. When she left I hugged her, kissed her and told her that if she wants to come here more often she could. I kept in touch with her this time and asked her if she could return the VR headset when she said she would. She told me that many things happened and her dad was not feeling fine and I understood that. She kept that VR headset for 3 weeks. Yesterday she calls me and tells me she wants to give me my VR headset. She makes me wait one hour in the rain and then comes by car with a cousin. The cousin then wants me to give me the VR headset and before that asks her if he should give me the box that contained the VR headset (the box was mine). Asked her if she wanted to watch some movies and then I receive a lot of texts. She told me that "YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE KISSED ME", "I AVOIDED YOU BECAUSE YOU MADE ME FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE", "DON'T EVER TOUCH ME OR KISS ME", "LETS STAY JUST FRIENDS AND NOTHING MORE YOU GOT THAT... F.R.I.E.N.D.S". I texted her that I am sorry about this situation and that I made her feel bad and said to her that I accept to be just friends with her. Today I told some of my friends about this and they told me that she is mad and to never speak with her again. One friend told me that she smelled something fishy because we kept doing things that people do when they are in a relationship but we were never in one. I am also writing this with a bit of a fear because I know that one of her friends does a lot of computer work like hacking and made a lot of bad things happen to a lot of people and I am a bit afraid of that. I don't want to lie and say that I am not hurt a bit hurt and used by her but I also want to say that I hope that something bad does not happen with her and that she finds the person that she is looking for. The answer to my earlier question was helpful, now I have a couple more. These regard making ginger beer with a bug (previously I used yeast). I'm using the spices from this recipe by u/MyMonkeyisaDog (leaving out the lemonade), which refers to this Youtube video. I don't care if the result tastes like Bundaberg beer, I just want to try adding some spice.
Questions:

1. Do I add the spices to the bug or add them later?
2. Is it o.k. to use dark brown sugar instead of granulated or to mix them (we're running low on granulated, can borrow some if necessary)
3. Some recipes call for packing down the ingredients in the measuring container; this one doesn't but I thought I'd try this for the ginger to get a more intense flavor. Is there any reason why I shouldn't do this (i.e. will it upset the balance between sugar and ginger and somehow ruin the beer? - granulated sugar doesn't pack down). If I use brown sugar, should I pack the sugar if I pack down the ginger? - brown sugar does pack down nicely.
4. Instead of chopping/grating the ginger every day, could I chop/grate a lot of ginger and put it in a spice jar until use? I did this once and the ginger turned brown, I used it a week later and it was o.k. but I'm worried about the potential for contamination.
5. I'd like to try bottling the beer in individual-sized bottles so I can give them to people. (Right now, I'm using plastic soda bottles). I've read a few articles about what bottles to use and am undecided between plastic and glass. If I use plastic bottles to avoid the possibility of explosion, is a twist-off top o.k.? If I use glass bottles, I understand they should be flip-tops, which are sold in many online stores; any recommendations as to the best place to purchase?
6. I've read that heating and cooling the bug ginger and water several times makes for a 'spicier' beer. I'd like to try this. Should I include the spices in the recipe I'm using when I do this (whole cloves, allspice, pepper, star anise; also calls for cardamom pods which I'd have to order online)? Or are they superfluous because I'm already making the beer 'spicy'? Should I include the sugar that goes into the bug when I heat/cool?

Sorry for the many and detailed questions - I blame law school : ) Any advice or information about any of the questions would be appreciated.

I'm looking into building a NAS. I've tried my best to learn the current NAS meta, but I still have quite a few uncertainties.
The NAS would store computer and phone backups, personal files, family pictures and videos, and some movies/shows. I would like to host a VPN on it to allow access from outside the home network. Perhaps some home automation too later. I haven't decided on the final storage size (mostly because I have no idea how much space would I use), however WD Red plus drives all cost around 24€/TB from 4TB upwards.
What software is good for such setup? What filesystems? Everyone is praising ZFS, but people also say it's bad for expansion. Others say BTRFS is the new king. I really want to reduce the chances of bitrot or other corruptions. What about the number of drives? What is the sweet-spot for redundancy when one fails? How easy it is to spin the drives down after certain time of inactivity? What about cache SSDs? The NAS will be connected to gigabit initially, but it will never exceed 2.5G.
I would also like to have data backups or at least snapshots on the NAS itself as the first line of defense from accidental file corruption/deletion from the NAS. What solutions exist for that?
For external backups, I'd like to use hard drives (for the whole NAS) and BD-RE (only for small portion of files, not exceeding 1TB), instead of cloud. How easy is it to backup a large NAS? Are hot-swap bays for HDD backup drives a good idea? Or should backups be done over the network with a separate computer?
Would it be better partitioning movies and important data separately? What about setting certain directories as read-only? How easy would that be?
The hardest thing for me is the hardware. I would like to use my old R5 1600 and Asrock B350M-Pro4 as a base to save money. I've heard Asrock supports some ECC, how critical is it to use it?
Finally, the household has a few iPads and iPhones. Would it be a good idea to wait and see what new "freedoms" new EU regulations provide? I'd really like to replace iCloud on those devices with the NAS if Apple allows it.

The usual story. Dating app moved to Instagram, moved to WhatsApp. I've never given any thought to WhatsApp as a problem before. I saw all the signs as they happened but being lonely and bored I ignored them all. I knew it wasn't real. I answered a video call out of curiosity and tried to hide from the camera - soon enough the person told me it was all recorded and sent screenshots of identifiable, inappropriate photos of me. The standard screenshots of my Instagram contacts followed, including my sister.
This was on Thursday. It's now Sunday evening. Thursday and Friday were constant things from different US numbers saying "BLOCKING ME WON'T DO ANYTHING BRO" etc.. Yesterday they let me stir and sent nothing. This evening I had a UK number saying "YOU THINK YOU CAN ESCAPE ME. I AM SHARING YOUR F*****G VIDEOS NOW".
I've read everything in this sub and that gave me hope yesterday but that message this evening has broken me. I'm terrified and I don't think it's going to stop... not any time soon. I keep blocking his number but he comes back. I know he's not likely to leak anything as he loses leverage but what if he does, what if since he clearly has no regard for people he sends it out anyway, but keeps coming back threatening to send it more. Once it's out it's out but what if he keeps coming back..
Even if it slows down this will be in the back of my mind for so long... he could come back.
I had one stupid moment, one brutal lesson learnt, and I could be paying for this for so long... The only one to blame is my and my stupidity in the moment. I know it's on him as the scammer but I should've seen this from a mile away and been smart enough to know so much better. I don't want this to affect my life, my work, my future... But I'm terrified it will. I know not to listen to any scam support advice and to keep blocking him but all other posts seem to say it stopped after a couple of days... it's been a couple of days and he's still here...
They are from the Philippines (as usual apparently)... Local law enforcement won't be able to do a damn thing

Hi all, new to reddit. Hoping someone can help me:
I'm reading that some people had their loans reactivated after receiving their "refunds" and it put their loans back into repayment. I also read on studentaid.gov that "You can get a refund for any payments you make during the payment pause. Even if you get a refund, that month still counts toward PSLF, as long as all other qualifications are met. Just call your servicer to ask for a refund."
What is not clear to me is: 1. What if I already received loan forgiveness through PSLF, then requested a refund for all payments made during COVID since 3/2020? - Part of that time was with MOHELA as the servicer, but part was with my previous servicer before applying for PSLF (Great Lakes)

1. Could those amounts possibly be "reactivated" with either my prior servicer (Great Lakes) or MOHELA, or both???
   
2. Should I not spend any of it until I can clarify / confirm? How can I do so?

Hi. I've tried searching this forum for the answer but couldn't find one. I purchased a mileage plus ticket for my partner in economy from LHR to IAH (he has premium silver status; I have 1K) and bought a fairly cheap cash upgrade to premium economy. Will he be entitled to a third free suitcase? I know I will but not sure about him- and we could use the extra allowance on this trip. For context, there were 7 adults, and the other 6 drank heavily every day throughout, and whilst they were proud of me for not drinking, it was occasionally suggested I could have one night off/ just a few....
I had some helpful advice in the comments on my post and wanted to share this and what worked for me.

1. I took some quit lit with me. I read Annie Grace's This Naked Mind. Highly recommend it and it helped strengthen my resolve. I also downloaded some podcasts as a back up.
   
2. If I felt it was getting too much/ cravings were bad/ there weren't any NA options available except water or coke, I excused myself and went for a walk and explored where we were staying, or decided to retire earlier. When I did the latter, I woke up refreshed, while those around me had sore heads. They didn't really remember or do much after I'd gone to bed anyway -nothing that made me wish I'd stayed up drinking.

Although I had cravings, I decided to ride them out. Thought about having a cocktail on Thurs, but by then I'd made it 5 days not drinking, so didnt see the point of undoing all my good work. I ordered a mocktail instead and it was delicious.
Upshot: I managed to make it through without succumbing and I am beyond proud of myself. Plus I've proven to myself I can have an incredible holiday without touching any alcohol!

For my first measurement I place 6 coins on each side.
The scale will now tip to one side. I remove 3 coins on each side now.
If the scale stays tipped I now have 6 coins of which im certain arent X. If the scale levels i am certain that X is in my hand with the 6 coins that i removed.
step 2.
I now weigh the 6 coins of which im certain has X against the 6 coins im certain all weigh the same. This will show whether X is heavier or lighter.
I remove 3 coins on each side now. The 3 taken from the neutral 6 will be dispatched. If the scale stays the same it means X is still on the scale. If X was lighter than we find X either immediately with the neutral coin on top. Or we find it on top with a random coin and repeat the step of taking away the certain neutral coin among a random on top. A level scale will mean X is in our hand. A tipped scale will mean X is on top.

Sorry for the long post but how would this translate to more mathematical terms.

Hello everyone! Been contemplating on the snip-snip for some time now. I'm 100% certain this is something I want and have read up on different procedures, altercations, stories and all that good stuff. I know these questions definitely differ from country to country, state to state, doctor to doctor, work to work etc., but I still wanted to ask you guys to maybe get a clearer picture of the more practical stuff of the before, during and after.

1. First of all, how many times if there need to be more than one visit to the doctor to talk it over and get examed and what tests if there need to be done happen before the surgery?
   
2. Are there any of you where insurance covered some or the whole procedure? Is it even possible? If not how much money in total was spent on the visits, surgery, after care etc.? (if you feel comfortable sharing!)
   
3. For those who worked before and after the procedure, with or without later implications, how long did you leave work? How was that done? (meaning medical leave, unpaid leave etc.)
   
4. Is there ANYTHING, even the slightest thing (negative or positive) that has changed the way you live pre and post-op? (i.e. activities you can't or can do more of, things to watch out for etc.)
   
5. And final question, which is not practical at all, but still I want to know your experience, how has sharing (or not) the fact that you had a vasectomy with other people been?
