Anybody here get solar panels installed on the house? I’m considering it and have a few questions if someone could assist!
(1) COST - I understand you can get a grant so what would roughly be the net cost to me? I know that obviously depends on how many panels etc, but say 3 panels on a semi D house…
(2) SAVINGS - How much has your electricity bill reduced by? Again, if you wouldn’t mind saying how many panels you have, and if you have a battery that stores the generated power?
(3) MAINTENANCE- what kind of maintenance is involved? And again, what’s the cost of this?
Personally I think they wouldn’t suit my house visually. But like many, I got crippled with a couple of large bills in the past year so considering it.
If it’s something that would make a huge difference I’ll certainly consider it. If it’s something that will take 10+ years to get my investment back and it’s a lot of maintenance I probably won’t!
… I know I know, the obvious thing is ask a company for a quote. But I’m around long enough to know they will try sell me the sun moon and stars and tell me I COULD save a lot more than I actually will. I’d rather here peoples opinions first!

This guy and I matched on a dating site. He asked me out and I changed my mind and felt like I wasn’t ready to be dating yet. He was respectful and waited months to ask me again. He’s been respectful but persistent.
I met him at a bar and I was instantly attracted to him. We had great conversation and we hit it off right away. However he seems like the type of guy that could get along with anyone. He mentioned a little bit about his past with drugs and alcohol. Spoke about how he’s sober. And we bonded a bit over the fact we both don’t drink . He was laughing a lot and it was going well
After a while we get called for our pool reservation. We play a game of pool and it feels super platonic. I see him on his phone a couple times in between playing. (I didn’t touch my phone once)…he’s also being nice and teasing me a bit when I miss a shot. He doesn’t try to touch me or get close. (Didn’t seem like nerves at all. He seems very relaxed and confident)I win the game. He was a bit embarrassed because he’s usually really good. He made a joke about how next time we should go bowling because he’s better at that .
We play a second game , he wins and then immediately tells me he’s exaughsted and is gonna go home… he walks me to my car..as we are walking he tells me how he’s sorry he’s just had a long day in the sun. Then doesn’t even chat with me at the car. Just gives me a quick hug and says goodbye and leaves.. the entire date was an hour and a half. Maybe two hours.

Bucks Upset. Avoid the Heat. Face injured Sixers. Played the 8th seed in the conference finals. Celtics choked an easy route to the finals. The first two rounds shouldn’t have totaled 13 games. Go down 3-0. Underperformed all post season. Sixers had 3-2 lead and on their way to win in the 4th and their MVP no shows the rest of the series.

2023.05.30 09:03 International_Fan410 Blood moon, end of the world and telling my kids I love them

So I had this weird dream, I remember feeling as though it was a nightmare. I started getting memories of the dream in the afternoon and kept remembering more. It was vivid to where I remember this red/bloody moon that was getting bigger and a sense of fear, I also remembered that I could feel the world was about to end, the worst sense of doom. Then I can’t remember exactly but some kind of explosion or maybe the sun hit the earth. I just remember the feelings were so real and terrible but the only talking/interaction was the very end where I had this intense feeling that I just had to get the words “I love you” out of my mouth right before it was ovethe world ends. I was needing to tell my kids, they are 3 and almost 5. I just cant shake the intense feeling at the end and it almost ended with relief, SO bizarre. For once, nothing stressful or crazy is happening in my life. I have autoimmune disease that has been affecting my muscles and heart rate more, I wondered if it’s maybe anxiety that something is going to happen to me?

Hey. My neighbor has a '74 ragtop rotting in his covered driveway. He parked the car in 1984 and hasn't driven it since. I'm curious if it's a sun Bug, and what differentiates the sun bugs from regular bugs.
The car has the gold paint, albeit faded, and has the Wolfsburg trim on the inside. The interior is pristine-looking. Odd considering how long the car has been left there. Stock 1600cc engine, which has been thrown through the ringer. Said last oil change there was metal in the oil. 4 speed manual.

2023.05.30 09:00 -whorechata- I’m feeling more and more out of place with my friends and family and I want to be different

I can’t seem to find my way recently. I just feel out of place in almost every aspect of my life. Over the weekend I went back home to my parents to go to a bbq they were having for a family members birthday. My car is in the shop so I took the greyhound by myself just to make it. I was so excited, I was talking to my coworkers about it for a couple weeks. Well I went and I spent a lot of time trying not to cry. I just felt uncomfortable and ignored most of the time. I guess I don’t have a ton of things going on right now, but I just felt like everybody was talking and catching up and I just wasn’t even involved. Sometimes I would try to start a conversation and I even got ignored. My brother mentioned I am starting a new job this week and I overheard it, and nobody really responded and nobody asked me about it the rest of the time I was there.
My step brother is autistic and my family isolates him a lot because he doesn’t really understand social cues and has a hard time having a “normal” conversation. They isolate him a lot and make faces at each other when he talks. When he’s not around they talk about him and say how he’s so hard to be around. I feel bad for him, and during this trip I almost wonder if they do the same for me, maybe to a lesser extent.
I felt so uncomfortable that sometimes I would just go sit outside on the porch, and then I would feel bad like I was isolating myself so I would kind of pop inside and try to join a conversation here and there. I wasn’t doing this for attention, I brought a book out and was just sitting in the sun, but I was almost hoping somebody would just come and check on me. I saw my mom walking out but she was just asking for a favor.
Right before I left I was talking to my mom about my new job and other opportunities that I have coming up and my worries that they might conflict. She was being pretty dismissive, and at one point she just didn’t respond. I asked her if she heard me and she said in a snappy tone she was listening, so I just said “oh okay.” she loudly responded that I am really annoying her and everybody looked over at us, and it was probably the worst I felt that whole trip. A couple hours later I had to say bye to everybody and just left feeling awful. I came back home to my friends all going out and not inviting me.
I am really trying to look inward and see if maybe I do things to make people not want to be around me. There’s always things to work on to become a better friend or person, and I try to be as self aware as I can. But I just can’t figure it out right now. I’ve been crying on and off for days. I feel completely alone despite having people in my life who claim they care. I am feeling tired of myself, I just wish I was different.
