Hello everyone… really hoping to find a safe space and some comfort in this sub :( I got a tattoo this week, it’s my 7th or 8th tattoo, and for the first time ever I’m having instant regret. It’s the most visible I’ve ever gotten (on my outer forearm) and it’s relatively big (I don’t wanna post the tattoo itself because it’s absolutely stunning and I don’t want to offend the artist because they did an amazing job). When it was stencilled, I was all for it, even after it was finished I thought it was amazing. But when I got home and looked in the mirror I had this sick feeling in my stomach that it’s SO visible and noticeable. I have tattoos on my arm so I just didn’t think the placement through and it’s in my constant eyeline. It’s like I didn’t realise I didn’t want it that big or visible until it was too late and now I feel DUMBBBBBBBB. I feel so unbelievably idiotic, obviously I know they’re permanent like I am not stupid but now I can’t help but feel like I’ve made a stupid mistake. I’m so mad at myself. I keep obsessing over it, looking at my arm like it doesn’t belong to me… looking at pictures of myself before I got it… I even stare at other peoples arms jealous they’re bare.
It’s only been a few days so I know I need to give it some time to get over the shock but the anxiety I feel at the moment is starting to get unbearable. I just feel so dumb and embarrassed - everyone’s going to notice it and comment on it if I wear short sleeves and that thought makes me feel physically ill to the point I’m researching removals. Has anyone else experienced this before and if so do you have any tips for getting over it?

When my sister died, I copied that diamond, added a green gem to symbolize her, and the writing which reads "Tempus fugit, amor manet". Latin for "Time passes, love stays". There is some room above for a red gem some day for my mother.
The writing seems very washed out, doesn't it? Can this be improved somehow?
This was my first tattoo and is still my only one. I was thinking about getting a sleeve, something fractal-ly, but I have no idea how to make it look "planned". How would I go about this?

I have been tolerating her for over a year now, but I’m at the end of my rope after today’s events.
She has a floor heater she keeps on every. single. day. It could be the hottest day of summer, and her heater will still be on. Our office does not have windows. It is tiny and stuffy without her heater. It’s uncomfortably hot with it. I use a tower fan in our office to try to keep myself cool, but it’s still hot. I can’t put it on the highest setting because it will blow the papers on my desk all over the place. Anytime anyone walks into our office, they make a comment about how hot it is in there. Today two people made a comment, so I agreed with them. She got all snappy. She told one of them to take off their jacket (for reference, we work in a professional setting that requires jackets, and I have to wear long sleeves to cover my tattoos). I suggested that she puts on a jacket to warm up, and she says, “No, it’s constricting and makes it hard to type.” Okay, whatever.
Then she makes a comment about how we’re hot because she’s sitting there and she’s so “hot.” Yeah, right.
I’m tucked into the corner of our office, so there’s no circulating air where I sit. The vent in our office hits her directly where she sits, so that’s why she’s so cold. I suggested that we switch desks and she says, “No. I like my desk where it’s at, it’s in front of the door so I can see people come and go.”
I just rolled my eyes and kept working.
A couple moments later she asks, “Did you curse me? I’m starting to feel hot.”
I just stayed silent.
Soon enough it was time for my lunch break. Before leaving I always turn off the tower fan.
I come back from my lunch and guess who is using the fan to cool themselves down? My office mate!
Then when I return she has audacity to tell me I can put it back on me and says, “You know when you leave for lunch you don’t have to turn the fan off if you don’t want it to be stuffy in here.”
At this point I’m livid. I just stay quiet and get back to work.
The inconsideration doesn’t end there.
She listens to her music so loudly I can hear it with her headphones in. She always sings along aloud in the worst voice you can imagine. Yesterday one of our coworkers heard her singing and said, “Good thing you’re a great bookkeeper.”
She’s a smoker and seldomly freshens up after smoking. I have seen her come back without washing her hands or using some kind of scented spray. Imagine a hot stuffy office that also smells like Newports.
She overshares every single detail of her life.
She overshares everything everyone tells her. I know the secrets and intimate details of all of our coworkers’ lives because she tells me everything. (Ex: One of our higher ups had a serious medical condition and she tells me, “Don’t tell anyone but so and so had *insert medical condition.” Then she went on to tell the next three people who walked into our office, “Don’t tell anyone but so and so had *insert medical condition.”)
She cries almost every single week about her life.
She has cried at least once a month every month since I’ve worked here.
Anytime I bring food she says, “Didn’t your mom teach you that if you didn’t bring enough for everyone that you shouldn’t bring it at all?”
She always mooches off of everyone.
She interrupts everyone.
She tells me she believes in karma, so she doesn’t like to do bad things yet she uses her dead dad’s handicap placard for better parking. Mind you, she’s able bodied. She actively commits fraud in other ways, but I won’t get into that. She also tells me stories about how she physically and verbally abuses her husband and children.
I have really, really, really tried to tolerate her and remain passive but I feel like I’m going to snap.
Basically any nightmarish quality you can imagine in a person, she has.
When I first started working there she told me she thought the person I replaced left because of her, and now I can see why.
We’re having new offices built, and I can’t wait to be permanently distanced from her.

Bring an iPad and watch movies? Use numbing cream? Cycle Advil and ibuprofen every 4 hours for pain? Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
I can’t split this up as I’m flying to Canada (from Cali) so that’s not really an option.

Hi everyone, not sure if anyone has any idea, but I was wondering if you’ve ever seen anyone do a juzu bead tattoo on their ankle (anklet? Lol)? One arm is blacked out to wrist and the other is a full sleeve to the same point, so no luck on the arms. Could do a necklace but not too keen on that right now.
It might not matter at all but I’d hate to do it to find out it’s horrible or completely wrong from a cultural standpoint.

As far as personality goes, I'd describe myself as empathetic and sweet. I like to help others as much as I can. In person, I tend to be rather shy at first. I've been writing since I was six years old, but I started taking it seriously around 13 years old. All in all, it's been 19 years. As of right now, I primarily write Fanfiction but in the past, I've written short stories, poetry and I even tried to learn how to write screenplays at one point.
I wrote my first full-length book in 2018/2019. I started the sequel in early 2020, but I'm still working on it. I lost a LOT of inspiration during the pandemic but I'm finally writing for it again.

Music has gotten me through a lot over the years. Yeah, yeah, I know everyone says that. But it truly has. It's shaped my life and introduced me to a lot of things and people that I probably never would've done or met otherwise.
There's no point in saying I like xyz genre because I've listened to pretty much everything. The only ones I truly hate are country and gangster rap. If you want specifics, though... I've been a HUGE twenty one pilots fan for 9 years. (I have more merch, stickers and other random shit than I care to admit to lmao) I also love other artists like Amber Run, Purity Ring, Phantogram, Daughter, Lorde, OneRepublic... plus tons more.
I've always had this dumb idea of a guy and I confessing to each other through playlists with songs that make us think fondly about each other...

I've been into photography for 10 years and I've had my DSLR for eight years. (It's definitely the camera version of 'Ol Reliable) I enjoy nature and portrait photography. I'd love to show you some of my work and get your thoughts on it.

TV genres I like: Animation (like Spongebob), comedy, drama, documentaries (disaster and crime ones are my favorites), true crime (like Forensic Files), old sitcoms (like Sanford and Son) and cooking and baking competitions/reality TV (like Kitchen Nightmares US and UK, Hell's Kitchen, Master Chef, The Great British Baking Show, etc)
Movie genres I like: Animation, drama, comedy, action, psychological thrillers and science fiction. I thoroughly loved The Greatest Showman so one could say I like musicals but it's the only one I've seen so not sure if that really counts. Comic book movies are pretty alright too, but I really haven't seen anything past the first Avengers movie lmaooooo.
I say this as unpretentiously as possible, but I haven't seen most popular TV shows or movies that your average person likes. I think the last "popular" thing I watched was that Jeffrey Dahmer series on Netflix. (mainly out of morbid curiosity because everyone was freaking out about it... and because I think Evan Peters is a cutie) I only saw a few episodes and then forgot to watch the rest of it, but it wasn't as horrific as everyone was saying. Maybe I've watched too much Forensic Files and I'm desensitized lmao.

Video game genres I like: Adventure, action-adventure, RPGs & JRPGs, Strategy... basically anything that is relatively fun and not horror related.
Some of my all-time favorites: Kingdom Hearts II, Ratchet and Clank, Journey, Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy X.
As far as computer games, the only thing I play on a regular basis is The Sims 2 and The Sims 4. As a kid, I loved simulator and time-management games; some old favorites are the RCT series, Simcity: Rush Hour, the first four Diner Dash games, the Delicious series and Burger Shop 2 (which I still have on my computer actually lmao)

● WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR ●
It's important to me that you're an active listener; what I mean is that you'll make an effort to listen to what I have to say and respond to it accordingly. If I tell you my thoughts on a matter or ask you a question or give you a compliment etc etc, please respond to it. It makes me feel so sad and small if I feel like my thoughts or opinions are not important/relevant.
I can tell pretty quickly if someone is genuinely interested in me or not. Like I said before, I notice everything lol.
I mentioned earlier how one of my love languages is words of affirmation. One of the ways I enjoy that is through compliments. I'm not looking for you to worship the ground I walk on, but being told "You look beautiful" or "When you do xyz, that makes me really happy" makes me feel SO seen and appreciated.
It's incredibly frustrating to send a picture of myself and get a lukewarm response in return. :(
Affection is also super important to me. Holding hands, hugging, kissing, cuddling, touching... all the cute couple shit. I want you to touch me, not in a pervy way, but in an affectionate way. I want to stroke your hair while I hold you close... little things like that make me incredibly happy.

Movie genres I like: Animation, drama, comedy, action, psychological thrillers and science fiction. I thoroughly loved The Greatest Showman so one could say I like musicals but it's the only one I've seen so not sure if that really counts. Comic book movies are pretty alright too, but I really haven't seen anything past the first Avengers movie lmaooooo.
I say this as unpretentiously as possible, but I haven't seen most popular TV shows or movies that your average person likes. I think the last "popular" thing I watched was that Jeffrey Dahmer series on Netflix. (mainly out of morbid curiosity because everyone was freaking out about it... and because I think Evan Peters is a cutie) I only saw a few episodes and then forgot to watch the rest of it, but it wasn't as horrific as everyone was saying. Maybe I've watched too much Forensic Files and I'm desensitized lmao.

I got an excellent half sleeve from Rob Forrest at Genesis in Vernon some years ago. He does realism (mine is very detailed; a dragon and several skulls that took multiple days). I’d like to do more of this style, but Rob has moved to Ontario. For this type of tattoo, who would be considered the best tattoo artist in the Okanagan? For those that know Rob’s work, is there anyone comparable to him here? I’m fine with waiting for the best person, if their books aren’t currently open. I have a bee tattoo on my upper forearm near my elbow that is 1" by 1". I also have a Roman numeral near my wrist running vertically down my forearm (about 1/4" wide by 1" . Long-sleeve would cover both but I am concerned this would be an elimination.

I'm going to be getting a forearm tattoo in early July that I'll need to cover up around family members. Obviously the forearm is a pretty visible place so that's going to mean long sleeves, but with getting the tattoo mid-summer, I'm worried about 2 things: 1. how how I'll get wearing long sleeves, and 2. that it's going to start looking odd if I'm wearing long sleeves in the summer around family.

So I have this idea I’ve wanted for a long time for a sleeve. I want it to start on my forearm as one of those self growth tattoos with the woman’s body and flowers coming out where the head should be. I want the flowers to go up my arm and at my shoulder have a deer popping out of the flowers. I’ve picked a series of flowers based on their names/significance in relation to people and other things in my life that are important to me.
