It's just simply a director's own headcanon a la Quentin Tarantino or even Jar Jar Abrams but with that said, to say it's interesting would be.... an understatement. Let me share this in way more detail from what I gathered and share your thoughts on this:
In a late 2020 interview Columbus was doing for Christmas Chronicles 2 (IGN, Collider or Screen Rant), he later revealed that due to an obvious Home Alone easter egg in it, it got him thinking and now - somewhat taking influence from John Hughes' Shermerverse that he revealed in 1997 - he likes to think or rather considers that aforementioned above.... Home Alone and its sequel Lost In New York, Mrs. Doubtfire and all eight of the Harry Potter films take place in the same shared universe and he explains it like this —
The first is obvious that they all take place in different parts of the world with Home Alone in Chicago, Mrs. Doubtfire in San Francisco and Harry Potter in England.
However the rest is a bit more complex than that.
He sees them connected for not only do a lot of the earlier ones share the same almost-similar visual aesthetics but they all have very large focus on unconventional protagonists in danger of losing the ones they love and care for who are just as unconventional as they are, said protagonists are "little fish in big ponds" as the world around them is larger than they are, they also have focus on conflicting kid and adult perspectives culminating in their own different and distinctive ways.
Columbus even came up with a few character connections that ultimately set things into motion or rather just add more to the individual movies. Which are....
A lot of specific characters happened to go to the same high school as each other growing up and even then had their own characteristics for either better or worse.
Daniel Hillard, his brother Frank and the latter's pal Jack were the energetic but surprisingly charismatic class clowns who were favorites of the teachers with Daniel discovering around this time that he had a natural talent for doing voices.
Kate Winslow (later McCallister) and Miranda Kring (later Hillard) were fierce high school rivals who couldn't stand each other even though - and this was obvious to everyone even the dumbest student - they had a lot in common especially in their personalities.
One thing that all of the characters (even ones you wouldn't expect) definitely had in common with each other is every one of them HATED school bully Frank McCallister who was rude, disrespectful, abrasive and quick tempered to everyone and got into his fair share of physical altercations and trouble and top of that, everyone also hated his younger brother Peter McCallister as they all thought he was an enabler of his brother's behavior and was easily manipulated plenty of times and took the wrong side. Daniel especially couldn't stand either of them and once got into a shoving fight with Peter who told him angrily that he'd never get anywhere doing stupid voices while the former rebuffed with "Yeah well you sure as hell wouldn't make for father of the year".
That all said, there is one interesting thing or connection with all of this is one in particular - see there was a very shy and timid booksmart girl named Lucy Bluth who befriended a foreign exchange student named Neill Granger from London. The two had a strong and loyal friendship that eventually became love as they realized their feelings for each other as young adults, so much that when Neill had to move back to Britain - Lucy went along right with him. The two of them obviously married and later on had a daughter named Hermonine. Emma Watson as Hermonine to be specific.
Finally, when asked jokingly if Pixels was part of this universe by the interviewer - Chris replied with "Highly unlikely. Very unlikely. Definitely unlikely".

I doubt the Breach would have moved on from Zinni outside of him taking himself out because he was the IGL and quite literally the only true veteran presence on the team. Zinni was also someone who didnt have elite level gunskill but seemed to be the only one who prioritized the objective/ team play.
Boston in the mean time has dropped both starting SMGs including Vivid twice and picked up talented players in Kremp and Snoopy. Snoopy literally got picked up two and a half weeks before champs to like that will fix anything
I mean if anything Abuzah is right there and the common denominator here is the AR players. I am just baffled by the decision making of their front office.

So a couple days ago I took the driver's test for the 2nd time after a year and a half driving with a permit (I'm 24m) and driving just doesn't make fucking sense to me. Nearly t-boned someone who was driving normally during the test. Anytime I drive with my mom she freaks out because I drive like SpongeBob. It doesn't get better either, I took the test a year ago as well and if anything I got WORSE.
So yeah I want to be an independent adult so bad. I love my parents but I'm sick of living with them. I live in rural America where you see cows and shit everywhere yet somehow the internet raised me. I just want to know if there's any place I can move to where driving isn't fucking necessary because I'm a danger to myself and others during it. I fucking cried after that test man. I feel I'll never grow up, I'll be 50 and playing World of Warcraft in a basement somewhere or something.

Not sure if this is the right subreddit, but I really need your help with a mind-boggling situation that's been keeping me up at night. There's this dude, a convicted sexual predator, who's taken social media by storm with his fake persona. He's got a massive following and portrays himself as this incredible author who penned 27 life-changing books and claims to have helped 500 prisoners while behind bars. Can you believe the audacity?
Here's the kicker: this guy is profiting off his fake "success" story and denying any evidence that proves his criminal past. I've seen countless people provide solid proof of his convictions, but he dismisses it all and keeps on with his charade.
I've tried to dig up court records from his time in Florida, where he spent a whopping 12 years in jail. Sadly, I'm outside the US and can't access those juicy details.
If any of you have the scoop on obtaining court documents or know someone who can help, please spill the beans. It's high time we exposed this con artist and shattered his fake image to pieces.
His victim was a minor, DNA evidence was presented at the court and he was found guilty of sexual battery and false imprisonment and he still has the audacity to deny.

I’ll make this clear, even if the subsequent titles were of consistently lower quality, I still hate Sword and Shield as a game. I hate how the gameplay was gutted, I hate the region, and the story makes Ride To Hell: Retribution look well written in comparison.
But let’s put that aside for a moment.
Except for the cities, which are honestly Britain’s lamest feature, Sword and Shield’s wild areas and routes are barely British at all.
Britain’s major strength as a tourist location is its countryside. It’s easily one of the greatest countrysides of any country I’ve ever been to.
Pokémon Sword and Shield barely has any of that. I felt like most of the areas were just green with some trees and lakes pasted here or there. This isn’t Britain’s countryside.
Where the hell are the mountains? The Areas here feel like they could be part of literally any country in Europe and it wouldn’t make a difference. There isn’t really anything screaming “Britain” here.
In fact, it feels like Galar as a whole is only stereotypically British. The devs couldn’t go the extra mile and make it feel like I was in the UK. As a result, I, an Indian, want to apologize to the colonizing scum on behalf of Asia for this affront to British sensibilities.
One thing they could have done was give us a creepier, Majora’s Mask Esque setting that plays off the fact that Britain is said to be the most haunted country in the world. Like a Lavender Town, but this time it’s the entire game. It would have been atmospheric and have given this game a substantial redeeming quality, something this game above all others lacks. I will say that even the worst games have missed potential, and this is something they could have done for the setting.
As it is, Somehow America and France got the better end of the deal. Though if they really wanted to make Black and White American, they could charge you 500,000 every time you healed at the Pokémon center

I got the idea from this post. It is an interesting thought experiment about an alternate world where Marvel’s cinematic endeavors were messy. Thank goodness Marvel didn’t follow DC’s path. Let me know what changes you would make to my hypothetical:

1. ⁠Captain America Winter Solider - This version starts with a 30 minute prologue during the war (aka the Man of Steel Krypton sequence). This sequence introduces Bucky and is a truncated version of First Avenger. A revised version of Winter Soldier plays out.
2. ⁠Captain America v. Ironman: Avengers Assemble - After their work on Winter Soldier, the Russo Brothers are given this film to launch the Marvel Extended Cinematic Universe (MECU). Tony seeks to keep Cap in check after being at the final battle in Winter Soldier and seeing the destruction (the battle was over New York in this version). This leads to a one on one fight that is prodded by Justin Hammer. Thor is a presence throughout the movie and interacts with Stark. Justin Hammer creates Ultron using some of his tech and stolen Stark tech. Ultron is the third act villain to unite the heroes. Thor arrives to help Cap and Tony. Before landing the killing blow, Cap is seemingly vaporized. Tony and Thor how to use Hammer’s hero files to assemble the Avengers to be prepared to defend earth.
3. ⁠Guardians of the Galaxy - Originally a gothic and dour version of the film directed by David Ayer, studio melding has caused a tonal monstrosity.
4. ⁠Thor - Prequel film set 100+ years in the past that has Thor defend humanity from his brother Loki. Thor’s love for humanity grows through his attachment to Jane Foster who seemingly dies in a third act sacrifice.
5. ⁠The Avengers - Loki, who Thor thought dead, returns to threaten the earth. The Avengers are assembled to combat his threat. This version of the team includes Ironman, Black Widow, Hulk, Antman, and Black Panther. At some point, The Avengers learn Captain America wasn’t vaporized by Ultron, but instead teleported to another planet. They bring him home since Tony doesn’t think the team can be led without him. This film feels like a tonal mess since the original directors, The Russo Brothers, were fired and replaced by Joss Whedon halfway through production.
6. ⁠Black Panther - A stand-alone solo film set after The Avengers and exploring the world of Wakanda.
7. ⁠Spider-Man Homecoming - This version is a mostly standalone film (aka no Stark) with little connection to the MECU. Captain America has a headless cameo at the end.
8. ⁠The Nova Corps (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Nebula) - A spin-off of Guardians of the Galaxy focusing on Nebula leaving behind her life of abuse at the hands of Thanos. Richard Rider, Sam Alexander, and the Nova Corps characters from the first Guardians are major players.
9. ⁠Thor Love and Thunder - Thor combats The Universal Church of Truth and their promise. The promise allows him to encounter his departed Jane Foster again, but he must accept letting her go.
10. ⁠The Russo Brother’s Avengers - After much fan prodding and pleading, the definitive 4 hour Russo Brothers version of The Avengers is released. One major change is that the Avengers see Thanos through the wormhole right after defeating Loki. Thanos vows to go to earth to retrieve “his great prize”, the Infinity Stones. This will never be paid off.
11. ⁠The Guardians of the Galaxy - James Gunn is brought in to liven up the team and give his rendition of the Guardians.
12. ⁠Venom- Tom Hardy had a big ego and refused to crossover with Spider-Man so this is a stand-alone film about Venom. The post credits scene sets up a fight with Captain America, which will never be paid off.
13. ⁠Spider-Man Far From Home - Partially reworked standalone version (aka no Stark references). Thor is the deus ex-machina at the end of the film.
14. ⁠Antman - Scott Lang, The Antman, decides to use the Quantum Realm to time travel and undo the mistake that landed him in jail originally. He wants the time he missed with his daughter back. However, in the new timeline, there is no Captain America to stop the Winter Soldier and Hydra. Scott must team up with an alternate self, Captain Carter, and Tom Cruise’s Ironman to save the world. Robert Downey Jr. agreed to return in the opening sequence to give his Ironman closure.
15. ⁠Ms. Marvel - No one is sure if this is in the current universe or the impending reboot’s universe.
16. ⁠Black Panther Wakanda Forever - As is.

Bonus- Legendary Star-Lord - While filming The Guardians of the Galaxy James Gunn was enamored by Chris Pratt’s performance and wrote an 8 episode Disney+ series for him. This came out shorty after the movie.
Then, a reboot occurs. Only James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy and potentially Ms. Marvel move over to the new universe. Everyone else is recast.

Got hellforged weapons and battlerush. Allowing me to upgrade the forgehammer heaps. Combine with deal damage based on amount of armour at end of turn, critical strikes, and deep wounds. Easy as pie
I even defeated balor in the black citadel before turn 3.

6 months ago, I got a 30% rating for something. I feel that my condition warrants a higher %. I got a private DR to assess me, and he filled out a DBQ which I believe shows that I am due a higher %. How do I file this? A supplemental appeal? an Increase? And how do I do it, I've only ever done an initial claim. I've read the wiki and plenty other posts on here, but I get quite mixed up.

My friend and I live in California in the Bay Area And have always dreamed of attending Burning Man. I have experience in construction and building. I've built two hexayurts and conduit domes. I've worked on numerous small projects with friends and family. I like art. I've been using lots of my old shirts as canvas recently. I’m pretty good at cooking and a good bar, so I can certainly lend a hand in that department. My friend, on the other hand, is excellent all around. He built our power and cooking solution for Lightning in a Bottle 2 years ago. He also made these devices which rely on a mesh network that allows us to communicate by text and also track each other without the need for an internet service provider. (It works in an area of a couple of miles) we can move our stuff (we have a trailer and a relatively large car) and help bring other supplies and camp setup and cleanup. Our ticket situation is complicated. We got into lyte reasonably early and are just waiting now. I intend also to pursue other options in maybe the other ticket sales. I’m sure I’m forgetting much about us, so if you have any more questions about what we can contribute to your camp, feel free to ask. We are open to joining a center that aligns with our interests and values. It would be fantastic to be part of a community that encourages creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. We are excited to learn from experienced Burners, contribute our unique talents, and create unforgettable memories.

WHAT INITIALLY OCCURRED:
As stated in the title, I had a normal ride just as I always have for years and got hit with an email awhile after with a receipt for an $80.00 charge for 'damages.' The driver submitted 2 images of what looks like apple sauce or puke or something and that was apparently enough to convince Lyft to steal from me.
I've never had any issues with drivers and I'm always quiet and clean. I had nothing with me that could have caused such damage, I don't drink, and I wasn't sick. I was taking a Lyft home from work, same as always. In point of fact, I'm very particular and careful about how I exit and enter my Lyft rides, ensuring I don't close the door too hard, open it into the sidewalk, scrape my shoe against the doorjam, etc. I check the seats and cupholder and footrest areas for crumbs and trash just in case and often end up removing trash other people have left. There is absolutely no way in hell I somehow left a mess of beige goo on the door handle (as shown in the driver-supplied 'evidence') when I took extra care to ensure it was all proper before I left.
ON THE ISSUES OF EVIDENCE: The driver had nothing to tie me to the supposed mess besides the timing of the ride and the report. There was zero evidence I had done anything wrong. I didn't even have anything with me that could have possibly cause the damage. There wasn't even a shred of evidence linking my existence to the fake mess this driver created. What the fuck. SOME OTHER WEIRD SHIT:
When I was in the car, the driver didn't speak to me once. When I left I said thank you, have a good day, as I always do, and again, the driver didn't speak to me at all and started driving away immediately. I found this odd because generally drivers sit in the spot they parked for a minute or so, I assume to start their next ride on the app or whatever. Rarely does my driver go from a fully parked standstill to tearing down the street so quickly. At the time I just presumed they were in a hurry, but in hindsight I realise now they were hurrying to fake the damage quickly, before Lyft's system determined they were reporting it 'too late.' This was premeditated.
THIS ISN'T A SINGULAR ISSUE:
After realising the issue I did the first thing you'd expect: I went to contact Lyft customer service. Unfortunately, their customer service sucks. The phone number they have doesn't actually link you to anything, so you have to contact them in their website or email. The website opens tickets which take you to email, so it's basically all handled by Zendesk email support.
I don't know if they're being managed by robots or if their employees are given strict scripts but they basically didn't do anything. They didn't respond to what I said in the ticket and gave me a copypaste answer of corporate 'sorry not sorry' speak: Per our Terms of Service, we charge a damage fee to help drivers repair and clean affected areas of their vehicle, once drivers provide evidence.
We re-opened your case and after extensive review of the information provided by both you and the driver, no adjustments will be made to this claim.
That's all well and good except, there was no information provided by me, and there wasn't any evidence from the driver either. The driver submitted 2 pictures and a damage reimbursement request. The 'information' from me was just opening a ticket asking to discuss. I couldn't get escalated past this so I simply opened another ticket and got the exact same response. This is when I gave up and went looking for help on Reddit. I'd not made an account before but I do search for people who have the same problems as me to find their solutions.
A quick and cursory search for similar cases yielded an astonishing number of results. This is a consistent issue plaguing rideshare sites and it's just being left to fester. The solution given in the other Reddit posts I found were basically 'just dispute it with your bank - odds are they'll cave to the dispute since it's a small amount and you'll get blacklisted off the platform, but it's better than just being scammed.'
HOW I PROCEEDED, AND HOW WELL THAT WENT:
So that's what I did. I filed a dispute (by the way, Bank of America is garbage for disputing. They give you like 140 characters to describe everything and that's barely enough to begin explaining your case.) and got temporary credit while BoA contacted Lyft. Just today the claim was finally closed without any real submissions from me or Lyft.
The full PDF outlines my ride history as evidence on Lyft's side, showing how I take the same rides each day. I presume this is to paint a picture of how I always take these same rides, therefore I was likely in the ride that was damaged. However, it does nothing to address whether the damage was even real, let alone created by me. This seems to be ignored by BoA and Lyft. I was allowed to submit my own description of the incident but it was another 100 characters to talk in and 3 slots to upload images. Naturally it's hard to upload images that actually help my case, since I don't take pictures of everyone's cars like a creep. But hey, maybe that's the only way to solve these issues going forward eh?
GOING FORWARD / LEGAL QUESTIONS: I understand Lyft has policies on this ability to reimburse drivers for damages incurred during rides. However, in reality this is an ability to simply take money from you over baseless claims from the drivers. So, legal question #1: How is it even legal for such a broken and predator-enabling system to exist?
This entire system is predicated upon the concept of 'guilty until proven innocent.' The only real barrier for a driver stealing from you is a couple of pictures of a mess they could have made themselves. There is nothing you can do but try to prove you didn't do it. I found a few rare cases in which the metadata from the images showed they were taken from 6 year old blogs and such, or the passenger had pictures of their own to prove their claim. These were the only situations I could find in which Lyft actually refunded the forced damage fee.
That's fucking bullshit. It makes no sense. I need to rant, I'm sorry, but what the fuck? You can literally just steal 80 bucks from someone and it'll all look legit in the system. That might not seem like much to some, but even if it's not, on a large scale app like Lyft it's insane how much money is stolen with impunity.
So, legal question #2: How do people find justice in situations like this, where it costs them more money to sue for the bullshit than they were damaged for? After all, the damager is still getting away with the damaging, and can continuously do so on a large scale if left unchecked. And legal question #3, I know class action lawsuits exist, but how does one join them? There doesn't seem to be an easy way to file claims or join existing ones, that I can find anyway. Legal question #4, how does the financial aspect of setting up class action suits like this play into your ability to do so? That is to say, is there a breakpoint where it costs 'too much,' or it's a gamble? And lastly legal question #5, do I have a case here? Because I did everything else and nothing is working. I'm still down 80 bucks because some dipshit decided he wanted to swindle someone. And yet, I do understand laws can be weird about interacting with the TOS of companies, and this may be technically legal. In which case...what the fuck.
NARRATIVE CONCLUSION/TL;DR: Some random ass stole 80 bucks from me, and Lyft facilitated it. When I told them it was bs they ignored me. When I told my bank not to let them steal my money I was once again screwed over. This isn't a one time problem and happens with other people all the time and the drivers get away with it because there's no real blowback. Wtf do I do?
