8. Shillong: Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, offers stunning landscapes, waterfalls, and a pleasant climate in June. You can visit attractions like Elephant Falls, and Shillong Peak, and enjoy the local culture and cuisine.
9. Wayanad: Wayanad is a picturesque district in Kerala, known for its lush green landscapes, waterfalls, and wildlife sanctuaries. In June, the region becomes even more enchanting with the onset of the monsoon season.
10. Pahalgam: Pahalgam is a beautiful town in the Kashmir Valley, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, meadows, and the Lidder River. June offers pleasant weather, and you can enjoy scenic walks, and horse riding, and visit attractions like Betaab Valley and Chandanwari.

This happened in 2021 in the middle of summer at Myrtle beach. Me and my boyfriend had got a suite on the beach to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. We had walked the beach until around 11pm when we decided to go back to our room since my SO’s stomach was bothering him. We get back in the room and he decides to lay down. I decided to go on the balcony and watch the ocean under the night sky. Our hotel room was between the 5th-8th floor and the beach completely lit up for miles both ways. A lot of teenagers were on the beach, directly below me, partying and shooting fireworks. I watched entertained while they shoot a huge firework in the sky. Suddenly, without thinking, my eyes instinctively landed on a man who was standing behind the boys who had just shot the fire work. I saw this man so clearly. He was a black Middle aged man, wearing a white t-shirt, and dark shorts. He was clearly distressed and without hesitation the man does a 180 and starts running down the beach, away from where the fireworks were being shot. As this man got further away I watched his body begin to vanish. I could literally see the beach through his body when finally the faintest glow outlined his body and he completely disappeared. My body froze and I tried calming myself as I made my way to my boyfriend trying to not freak out about what I just saw. (I still freaked out). For the rest of the night, we both heard a lot of weird noises. It started with the toilet seat in our own bathroom being slammed down and the dishes in our cabinets being rattled. We both heard the noises and barely got any sleep the entire night.

I got the beauty 2023 EX-L one month ago. Loving it so far. Super comfy. Less noise. Rear camera is a disappointment. BTW Excellent handling. I wonder how it will fare in snow in Washington? The dealership guy (in his 70s) who is a Honda fanatic owning accord and Honda cars said that I need only chains and Honda tires do well in the Snow and chains are required rarely. I want to know how to be prepared to get through the winters.

I’ll be in Myrtle Beach for a couple of weeks for work. I’ll have some pockets for golf when I’m off and would like to play as much as I can. Are there some good courses with multiple courses or courses that are close enough to each other to be able to play 36 with ease in a day? Thanks.

Memorial Day weekend has come and gone, and if you weren't in any of the big crowds for Blink 182, Paramore, Taylor Swift/Phoebe Bridgers, or the musical festivals happening on along the east coast, you might itching for some live music this week. June means beach season is here and that means beach shows, with Rippers opening this weekend. Plus, Paramore is still in town, playing a pair of shows with Bloc Party, not to mention tour stops by AJJ, Thrice, Panchiko and Young the Giant, and yet another sellout for Bill Joel, who returns to make up December's cancelled show.

I have seen 1 or 2 TDF posts and it motivated me to share my experience from last year. 2022 was my first year participating in TDF and I loved it! From past experiences with Spinzilla (RIP), I knew I wasn't going to push much for yardage, though I filled several bobbins. I also knew I wasn't going to be able to spin everyday and didn't really push much on challange days. I also didn't join a team and I may this year.
My goal last year was to spin outside as often as I could and with as many fancy picnics as I could manage. I cannot stress enough how much fun it was. I have the luxury of living in a place that doesn't take much time to get somewhere with spectacular views. I wanted to take full advantage of that.
For anyone who spins. Spin outside! On your porch, a park, the mountains, the beach or pool. Really, just do it if you can. I touted my wheel up mountain pass roads (by car) and spun in the shadows of high mountain peaks and nestled myself by streams. This year I plan on making this my goal again. It was good for the soul.

Any therapists in the Myrtle Beach area? Moving to the area, but worried about the lack of job postings. Also, the pay ranges I’ve found online vary wildly and I would like to narrow it down. Thanks!

I (24, F) am planning on driving my 4 year old Honda Fit from Myrtle Beach SC to Corpus Christi TX in mid July this summer. I am wondering if anyone has done a similar trip or driven through some of these areas with any advice to offer. I am hoping to drive through New Orleans for one of my nights to get a tattoo (lol) but am not sure how long this trip will realistically take, what to look out for w road conditions, cell service, weather, etc. not sure if I should drive in the evenings rather than day? or get early starts (like 4 am?) any thoughts appreciated.

I, (26F) have had two best friends, Lisa and Sonia, since I was five and twelve years old. Our friendship had lasted into our late twenties, but things took a turn when I got engaged to my significant other. Excited about my upcoming wedding, I approached both Lisa and Sonia and asked them to be my bridesmaids in January of 2022 for my wedding that was to be held in September of 2023.
The problems started when I proposed that my bachelorette be the weekend before my wedding. Sonia explained that it happened to be her birthday weekend. She expressed her refusal to attend my bachelorette party, emphasizing that she had already made plans for a beach trip during that time with a separate group of friends and never thought to invite me. It's important to note that her birthday for the current year hadn't passed yet (it was still 9mo away), and she had already made arrangements for another trip the following year. I was a little confused/annoyed, but I just dropped it because my bachelorette really didn't have to be the week before, it just had to be within a reasonable range (July-September). Besides, it WAS her birthday weekend after all. I assumed that as long as I respected her wishes, she would extend me the same courtesy and treat me with the respect and attention she expects from others on events that are important to her.
Meanwhile, my other bridesmaid Lisa explained to me that I can’t have my bachelorette too far apart from my wedding because she thinks her boyfriend might propose and needed the entire summer of 2023 blocked off JUST IN CASE he did. She would need her wedding to be that summer as well as her bridal shower, bachelorette, etc to be held and asked that I keep my bachelorette the week before my wedding JUST IN CASE. I quite frankly was insulted at both of their selfish behaviors and this immediately put me in an uncomfortable position. Since this discussion was happening in a group chat with 3 other bridesmaids- things got heated very quickly and cast an awful shadow over my preparations. I found myself being a pushover and trying to please everyone and these two girls made me cry alone quite often and neither cared enough to even ask how the arguing was affecting me.
Lo and behold, Lisa was proposed to during the summer of 2022 and asked me to be her bridesmaid. Eager to support her, I agreed and waited for her to finalize her own wedding date, bridal shower, bachelorette, and other arrangements. I then proceeded to plan my own bridal shower and bachelorette party around her schedule, ensuring that her plans would not be inconvenienced by my upcoming wedding. Looking back, I can hardly believe that I went to such lengths. However, despite my efforts, Lisa expressed dissatisfaction with the dates I had chosen. She insisted that all of my events be scheduled two weeks apart from hers so that everyone could attend her wedding without the risk of contracting COVID-19 at any of my events. Despite the inconvenience, I once again changed all of my dates to accommodate her wishes because I never wanted to make my best friend feel the same way she was making me feel.
I had hoped that things would finally settle down and we could have a fresh start after a tumultuous beginning. However, Lisa called me and confessed that she had never actually liked Sonia during the two decades of our friendship and was only friends with her because of our connection. Shockingly, she revealed that she was not going to ask Sonia to attend the wedding as a guest. Lisa asked me to keep this secret from Sonia, despite the fact that Sonia would clearly see Lisa’s proposal announcements and that they both were going to be bridesmaids at my wedding. It put me in an incredibly difficult position, as I knew Sonia would eventually find out, and I didn't want to lie to her.
Over the course of three or four months, Sonia reached out to me multiple times in tears, sensing that Lisa was upset with her over something. She asked if Lisa had mentioned anything, and each time I had to fabricate a lie, pretending I had no knowledge of any issues and that I hadn't received a save-the-date card from Lisa yet. It tore me apart to deceive my best friend like this, especially when it was all for the sake of Lisa’s wedding.
I kept asking Lisa to let me suggest that the two of them talk or that there is some sort of conversation because I was uncomfortable. She didn't really care and brushed it off because she didn't want to confront Sonia. So I kept lying and of course, Sonia eventually found out through other friends and apparently my public venmo transfer to Lisa’s MOH for the bachelorette. Everything exploded, and both Lisa and Sonia became angry with me. Lisa accused me of betraying her trust by telling Sonia, when in reality it was the Venmo transaction that gave it away. Sonia expressed her disappointment in me, and deep down, I knew I had been an awful friend. I shouldn't have lied; I should have taken a stand. But I felt torn and conflicted, desperately hoping Lisa would step up and have a conversation with Sonia, or at the very least consider my feelings.
Unable to bear the stress any longer, I stopped talking to both of them for a month and focused on my master's degree. After numerous phone calls, I managed to rebuild a connection with Sonia, as well as with Lisa. However, neither of them wanted to be present at the same events anymore. They despised each other, and as a result, my entire bridal shower, bachelorette party, and wedding were completely ruined. Lisa and Sonia constantly threatened to leave my bridal party, with one person joining and the other leaving every week. This constant turmoil took a severe toll on my mental health, plunging me into intense depression. I cried for months, and neither of them bothered to ask how I was doing. In a desperate attempt to salvage our friendship, Lisa pleaded with me to drive three hours to her apartment that weekend to have a conversation. Lisa had recently undergone a major surgery and was immobilized from the neck down to her waist so it was important for me to check up on her. I brought some gifts and genuinely wanted to ensure she was okay, but also address the major concerns I was having so I made the trip.
However, as I poured my heart out about her absence at my wedding and how our lifelong sisterly connection had been shattered, she remained emotionless. I am starting my new job the day before Lisa's bachelorette party. I went through six rounds of interviews over the course of 6 weeks and conducted a 65 minute presentation for a position at this company. Asking for a day off is absolutely out of the question and any true friend would understand. For the past three months, my fiancé has been covering 75% of my expenses, and I intend to repay him as soon as I can. Lisa became upset with me over this and even went so far as to have her mother contact mine, urging her to persuade me to take my second day of work off for the sake of her daughter's bachelorette. My mother and I are both furious about this interference, and we're even considering not attending Lisa's wedding at all. I've also contemplated ending the friendship and cutting off contact with her. With the bachelorette party only three days away and the wedding in three weeks,would I be the asshole if I drop out now to spare myself the pain and hurt?

I posted on this subreddit on late April/early May, to ask if anyone did a bikepacking trip to Harriman State Park before. Wanted to do another post after trip to share my findings for whomever wants to plan a similar trip.
I did the trip on May 12-13th. Actually wanted to post before but life was busy couldn't share the details before. Thanks for all the comments on my previous post, the comments made me realize that there are certain things that you just try & learn. I'll also def check the 718 Cyclery in the future for group trips.
The purpose of this trip was to explore my limits and the route to Big Hill Shelter, see it for myself that how bike accessible it actually is. I didn't want to use a full PTO from work, instead I asked to leave by 2pm. However, next time I'm definitely going to take the full day off to hit the road early. For the route, I decided to trust Google. From my start point I set course for Big Hill Shelter, adding The 9W Market as a stop. After midtown, I passed through Central Park then all the way to Upper Manhattan to George Washington bridge. Right when I entered Jersey, I immediately started cycling on the 9W all the way up to the market with no stops. After I had some food at my pitstop, I kept following Google Maps, now routes next to Hudson river that made me pass through some really cute townships until the Nyack Beach State Park. The road at the State Park was a bit rocky but also really leisurely sometimes right next to the river, sometimes in between trees under a nice shade. The journey was really bike friendly until the turn to Camp Winaki Rd from Call Hollow Rd.
My maps was telling me that Camp Winaki Rd is a wood road, so I assumed it was just going to be like riding on a path similar to the Nyack Beach State Park. I was able to ride my bike until a Park building next to what Google calls First Reservoir. At that point it started to get dark and Google started to be unreliable. I opened up the official Harriman Park map and figured out that I had to walk with my bike until the Long Path & Camp Winaki road intersection. Also need to mention that, because I spent a little time figuring out my direction, I was left in complete dark before getting to my destination. With the help of my flashlight, I continued to roll my bike on foot, and about 1.5 miles later (in about 45-60 minutes) I managed to find the shelter. The weather was 70 degrees and I was alone until 11:30pm. Was an amazing, peaceful night. Around 11:30pm, randomly, a group of boy scouts came to the shelter as well. We shared the area and talked for a bit.
My takeaways for next time is really a brief list: Leave early so no need to go through the excitement of trying to navigate in absolute dark and instead of Big Hill Shelter, putting Long Path Hiker's Parking to my maps and then following the Long Path for 30-45 minutes on foot from the other direction still heading towards the shelter. Also need to bring a water filter or carry more water depending the length of the trip. Leaving details and an equipment list below. Hopefully this will help others who want to do a similar trip!

I'd like to find somebody thoughtful, someone who isn't superficial. Somebody who appreciates the rich vastness of our shared multicultural past, and freely follows her curiosity in exploring it. Somebody who is trying her best to adhere to the guidance of her inner moral compass, and isn't so easily fooled by the distractions and illusions of the world.
One such illusion, that must immediately be mentioned (this is important, because it's led to a break for me, in the past): religion. Religion is man-made, and not of any higher authority. The Bible and the Quran all permit slavery—in addition to countless other horrid and divisive ideas—while claiming to be eternal wisdom, and that is indefensible. I still like to believe in the idea of some permeating higher morality, that imbues us with our general sense for justice, fairness, and empathy...but, I know that without outright proof, even my holding of such a notion can be deemed a flight of fancy, a residual remnant of a system so entrenched. However, it seems to me that life is often more than just what's on the surface. Um, but now, then—back to the person I wish to know...
I'd also love it if she were artistic. Singing, sketching, painting, writing, composing, creating. Someone who is trying to nurture their talents and passions. I know it can be difficult...
As for me, well... I adore music. Mostly voices from the past (the 1960s would have to be my favorite), because I find them to be humbler and more from the heart, at least in popular music. I’ll just give an example of something I’ve looked into, and this is nowhere near representative of my wider taste, but if you go back to early 1920s country music... (Here's an aside: a lot of what people think of as "country" today is a long cry from what the genre is actually like, historically. If you are into folk music—Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan—it is indelibly linked to "country", and if you'd like a popular example of a song that originated within the genre, look no further than the universally recognized "You Are My Sunshine", from 1939!)
Anyway. If you go back to that early period, where undiscovered niches of music were still sought out and first put to tape... a lot of those artists had no idea about anything to do with recording—no ego, no attempt to sound "cool". What came through instead was a bare expression of the life that had been lived—the inner beauty of their own personhood, and I love hearing that. It's so honest. A vulnerable and piercing expression.
So if you're into history or the beautiful music of decades (and centuries) past, if you have any aspirations for creating as a method of changing the world for the better, if you'd like to play games and watch movies together, if you'd like an accountability partner—or all of the above...please message me. Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 on the secret hard modes, maybe? Or sculpting our own world from scratch in Minecraft?
