2023.06.01 04:20 Professional_Fox_603 CA- new position, 10 weeks still old pay, legal?

I work for government as in school district. I get paid once a month. I started as a school bus driver. I recently accepted a twelve month a year new position within another department. My start date was April 17 for the new position and now I am told that, per payroll department I won’t be receiving my new salary until the next pay period June 30, 2023. I really don’t understand why hours worked are not hours earned? Is this legal for the school district to withhold so many weeks? 10 weeks total?

2023.06.01 04:11 mattcor76 What is my next step for a career in logistics?

I don’t have a college degree. I started working when I was 19 years old in a warehouse for a modest sized (and growing) pharmaceutical transportation broker. We service big accounts like Cardinal and Amerisource all over the east coast. Initially I started out with a pretty low position. Now I’m 23 and am second in command at my hub, in charge of dispatching and paying drivers and product returns. I am the top ranking account coordinator at the largest branch in the company.
I really enjoy my job. Specifically I love the problem solving aspects of it. I also love that I get to be moving around talking to people all day, negotiating prices and dispatching left behind merchandise.
My boss mentioned to me that I should consider a degree in logistics to potentially get started on a career path. I had never really considered this as a career before. I’m wondering if a degree is necessary for me to continue moving up the ladder. Would my current credentials be enough to impress future employers on a resume? What are some specific areas of logistics/business/supply chain management that I should look into studying? I’m just trying to think of what my next step might be. I enjoy my current job but there is not much upward mobility salary wise at this company. Thanks

2023.06.01 00:55 Yellow_Potato_2610 I bumped a FedEx truck while backing out of a parking space

It happened at my private workplace parking lot. I accidentally bumped the FedEx truck while backing out of a parking space, I came out to check and didn't see any damages on that truck so I didn't leave the notes and rushed away as I was late for my appointment. I feel so horrible, I know it was irresponsible. Should I tell my manager about it? I don't know if there are cameras or not. What should I do now? I really want to contact that driver and pay for the damage if there's any.

2023.05.31 20:38 Yodsyo What's your prediction for Ganassi's 2024 driver lineup?

This season, Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) has a 5-driver / 4 entry lineup that consists of Scott Dixon, Alex Palou, Marcus Ericsson, and Marcus Armstrong / Takuma Sato. It's been widely speculated and generally accepted by the media that Alex Palou will leave his #10 entry to join Arrow McLaren for the 2024 season. Additionally, Marcus Ericsson is in the final year of his contract, and no longer wants to bring in sponsorship to secure his seat, wishing to be paid for what he's worth as an Indy 500 winner and perennial contender. With the Indy 500 now in the rearview mirror, what are your thoughts on what the ultimate lineup for the Ganassi team will be, come the 2024 season?
Below, I've listed out the drivers under contract, and some previously rumored or mentioned potential newcomers:

Locked in for 2024:
Scott Dixon, #9 entry: Under contract for the long-term, Scott Dixon will continue to remain inevitable for the years to come, and outside of a shock retirement announcement, will remain with the team in 2024.

Current drivers potentially or already on the move:
Marcus Ericsson, #8 entry: The 2022 Indy 500 winner wants to be paid without bringing in sponsorship, a shift that is hard for an existing team to accept. Ericsson has become someone who the team needs to keep on, as losing him will provide a bad look.
Marcus Armstrong, #11 entry (road and street): Signed in the offseason for road and street courses, brought in hefty funding to ensure his seat on the grid. Is currently leading the rookie standings despite not running the ovals.
Takuma Sato, #11 entry (superspeedways): Seemingly at the mercy of Honda Japan's plans, which are looking less likely a full time seat and more of a consultancy role. Hopefully returning as a 500 / superspeedway entry at the least.
Alex Palou, #10 entry: Crazier things have happened. But it's a .01% chance. Respect is generally hard to gain back (for either side).

External candidates (in no particular order):
Kyffin Simpson, INDY NXT driver (HMD Motorsport with CGR): Has the funding / sponsorship to support an entry, as reported by Marshall Pruett. Currently a CGR 'academy' driver.
Robert Shwartzmann, Ferrari F1 reserve/test driver: Tested for the team back in January, but has other options in WEC Hypercar and Formula E (tested with DS Penske in Berlin). 2019 F3 champion and 2021 F2 vice-champion.
Callum Ilott, #77 Juncos Hollinger Racing driver: Most coveted driver outside of Ericsson, would likely not move unless its a top seat. Garnering heavy interest from other top teams.
Linus Lundqvist, 2022 Indy NXT champion: Has driven a couple of tests with RLL and soon ECR, currently advising HMD Motorsport in Indy NXT. Brings some money from the Road to Indy scholarship program.
Graham Rahal, #15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver: Rumored earlier that he was looking to change teams due to RLL's ineffectiveness. Also is incredibly good at gaining sponsors, and helped bring a sponsorship advantage to RLL not seen outside of Penske and McLaren during his tenure.
David Malukas, #18 Dale Coyne Racing w/HMD Motorsport driver: Can (potentially) bring in funding from HMD but unknown how deep the partnership with DCR is (DCR and HMD are partnered for 6 entries in INDY NXT). Disregarding sponsorship, he is a quality driver with potential.
Felix Rosenqvist, #6 Arrow McLaren driver: Out of contract for 2024, hasn't won a race with McLaren but has shown improvement every year in the team, has prior experience with Ganassi.
Nick Cassidy, Envision Racing Formula E driver: Current championship leader who is out of contract by the end of the year, drove a test for Ganassi. Won the Super Formula and Super GT titles in 2019 and 2017 respectively.
Someone else: It could be someone we never expect. Mick Schumacher? Pietro Fittipaldi? The return of Nicholas Latifi? Another F2 driver (such as Dennis Hauger or Enzo Fittipaldi) or Indy NXT driver (someone such as Christian Rasmussen, or someone else with funding)? And in an incredibly remote chance, will they take a look at picking up some of the pay drivers in the series not under contract in 2024 (Conor Daly, Devlin DeFrancesco)?
Also, do you think Ganassi will stay at 4 seats (currently 2 pay drivers, 2 salaried) or downgrade back down to 3? (Remember that Leader's Circle payments only account for the top 3 seats getting awarded, so 1 seat will always need sponsorship brought in)

What are your predictions?

2023.05.31 19:39 healtherman My Crystal Package missing after fedex dropped it on my neighbors porch

Happened in Canada
So the package came 2 days earlier than the stated time. I was at home didnt expect it to come that day. Fed ex dropped the package at next door neighbors porch took picture and shows status as delivered. I check my tracking status after half an hour when i noticed it was delivered went to check my neighbor, but no one was answering.
Called fed ex they will check with the neighbor.
I doubt my neighbor has it they have been a good neighbor so i think it got stolen by a random guy or the fedex driver took it. Highly recommend that you go pick the package at their office and not be delivered to your door. It can be easily stolen.
I was too naïve. The fedex driver didnt even wait to process duty fees. Unfortunately i dont have a cam installed so i am going to ask my other neighbors for footage.
Not even a sign required to deliver they just dropped it and left
Any suggestion what else i can do
----- neighbor confirmed he does not have it so its stolen for good now. ----- waiting for response from fedex and pimax support
---- considering to do a chargeback on my bank as after 30 days they dont do any chargebacks. after paying in full it took 27 days to ship so only have 3 days left.

2023.05.31 18:02 Jealous-Razzmatazz-1 Percentage of the load pay vs salary

My friend who has about 8 month experience has told me about a trucking job that pays him a percentage of the load he says in his first 2 months he’s brought in almost 18k and he’s just a company driver so my questions are: does this sound legit? 😂 and what Is the better pay? Percentage of load or salary? I get paid .47 a mile right now I’m just starting out I have 4 month’s experience and it’s trash but I’m still grateful though it’s better then a Walmart check haha

2023.05.31 16:54 Minecraftman6969420 Can I give a friend a photo of my ID and the tracking number so she can pick up my package after an attempted delivery?

So I’ve been going insane trying to figure this out but in short I’m out of town and I have a gaming laptop that I bought for a Memorial Day sale on eBay on the way but unfortunately it’s being shipped through FedEx, I was going to have it held for pickup but the shipper won’t allow it because potential fraud, so I’d have to at least wait for one delivery attempt, and I was going to have a friend whose housesitting while I’m away get it for me but she’ll be working during the delivery window and can’t sign for it (it’s a direct signature) and she’s the only one with a key to my house otherwise I’d have another friend wait and sign for it, the only other thing I can think of is giving this friend a photo of my drivers license and the packaging number and having her pick it up from wherever the package would go after attempted delivery and having her say she’s my sister or something, would this work?
TL;DR: Out of town for package delivery and only option is to have someone pick it up after FedEx attempts once and am wondering if sending them a pic of my ID and tracking number is enough to pick it up.

FF aiHypercar 6x4 Architecture 2.0: The next-generation technology driven by FF AI
During the event, Faraday Future also announced a fully upgraded next-generation technology architecture driven by FF AI -- "FF aiHyper 6x4 Architecture 2.0". “6x4” refers to the vertical integration and horizontal penetration of FF’s six technology platforms and four technology systems. The six technology platforms are “FF OpenApp”, “FF aiOS 2”, “FF aiHW 2.0”, “FF Mechanical”, “FF Cloud” and “FF AI”. The four technology systems are the “Magic All-In-One”, “Hyper Multi-Vectoring”, “3rd aiSpace”, and “FF aiDriving.”
At the system level, FF vertically integrated different platform modules in order to maximize performance and achieve hyper cross-platform integration. System technologies are empowered by platform technology, and user benefits are realized through AI integration.
Through the fusion of general AI + personalized AI + “1-on-1 Bespoke Private AI”, FF is delivering an elite mobility experience to the spire users. All-AI is the soul of “FF aiHyper 6x4 Architecture 2.0”. With AI algorithms + AI engines + and AI services, FF has designed end-to-end integration of AI capabilities, realizing All-AI integration with platforms and systems.
In addition, certain developers and third parties are invited to participate in R&D through an open technology platform, fostering co-creation of the technology architecture. For ultra-spire users, time is the ultimate luxury. FF believe aiHyper 6x4 Architecture 2.0 will be the next-gen technology architecture that addresses key pain points from the spire users of future mobility. The "All-Ability aiHypercar," built on this architecture, aims to provide users with 1 to 2 hours of increased time in their day for added value and efficiency. Our Ultimate AI TechLuxury is designed to offer spire users "26-hour days."
The “Magic All-In-One” System
The unique “Magic All-In-One” is an all-terrain AI vehicle body control technology system equipped with hyper agility and precision. Users can enjoy an optimized driving experience and personalize their mobility experience through 1 on 1 Bespoke body tuning. The vehicle offers All-in-one combination of the performance of a hypercar, the comfort and handling of a sedan, and the high ground clearance, visibility, and space of an SUV. One computing module integrates the comprehensive capabilities across cabin, driving, electric propulsion, body, and suspension.
Based on the preferences and needs of ultra-spire users, FF expects the “Magic All-in-One” technology system of FF 91 2.0 Futurist and FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance to offer two editions. The “Magic All-in-One” track edition emphasizes track performance tuning with all-terrain capability and includes a one-on-one professional track driving training session with a professional racing car driver. The "Magic All-in-One" balance edition emphasizes all-terrain balanced tuning for the three vehicle types: Hypercar, Sedan, and SUV with air suspension providing for a smoother ride. The Company plans to deliver the track edition first, followed by the balance edition. FF intends for users to take advantage of a one-time system exchange free of charge, allowing them to enjoy two distinct vehicle experiences tailored to their diverse driving needs.
The “Hyper Multi-Vectoring” System
The “Hyper Multi-Vectoring” (an integrated multi-axis torque vectoring AI system for propulsion, steering and braking) of FF 91 2.0 Futurist and FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance has a multi-axis design that intelligently adjusts the torque output of each wheel according to different driving conditions to achieve optimal drive force distribution and provide precise and agile handling performance.
The system intelligently adjusts torque output, allowing for a personalized AI-customized driving experience that delivers ultimate control and handling.
The large battery pack and multi-axis no-latency hyper power output not only provide an exciting experience for the driver, but also allow passengers to sit comfortably in the back and enjoy the thrill of the ride.
The integration of multi-axis vectoring and AI technology was designed to enable the FF 91 2.0 Futurist to keep excellent ride control and safety in different hyper modes, even in emergency situations. Additionally, users can opt for and "1 on 1 Bespoke Private AI and Tuning" package to further enhance their ultimate driving and handling experience.
The “3rd aiSpace” System
FF 91 2.0 is equipped with 3 modems, an industry-first. The Super AP 5G x 3 supports three carriers, delivering triple speed and triple coverage with minimal latency. In the US, it supports AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile so even if two carriers are down, you may still rely on the third one for service.
In the future, FF plans to launch an option for a high-speed internet satellite communications suite. Additionally, the vehicle has the world's fastest in-car network speed: 10G Ethernet and the world's largest in-car display capability with OLED technology and 11+ displays.
FF 91 2.0 creates a mobility work scenario by moving the meeting room and live broadcast studio to the car and delivering the ultimate AI mobility lifestyle. Integration of FF ID and web3 wallet delivers personalization for each seat. FF Generative AI enables an intelligent in-car experience, removing the need for a phone in the car. Smartwatch remote control feature provides a convenient experience for spire users.
The “FF aiDriving” System
The intelligent driving technology system of FF 91 features a fusion of 3 types of AI that creates intelligent assisted driving. FF has heavily invested in the customization of AI. The unique fusion of general AI + personalized AI + “1 on 1 Bespoke Private AI” delivers for the spire users the aiDriving (driver-assistance system) that aims to know you better than you know yourself.
The Company is dedicated to delivering technology and product iterations and upgrades to our spire users through OTA. We plan to host a “FF Developers Co-creation AI Festival” at the 919 event, held on September 19th, where we expect to announce the FFAI strategy execution status and technology innovations. We invite certain futurists to participate in the FF Developers Co-Creation Program, driving the ongoing upgrade and evolution of the mobility industry for our spire users.
FF "All-Ability aiHypercar": Redefining the new category and standard of intelligent spire EV
The “All-Ability aiHypercar” defines the new category and core standard of intelligent spire EV. “Hypercars" have been widely known as those with over 1,000 horsepower and million-dollar price tags, representing the top 1% in both performance and price. FF believes future hypercars will redefine the criteria from two perspectives, the traditional mechanical hyper and silicon-based hyper.
FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance is limited to 300 units and the price is a MSRP of $309,000 US dollars. Online pre-sale is fully open.
The FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance offers additional privileges and benefits compared to the FF 91 2.0 Futurist. In addition, the FF mobility ecosystem product, “FF aiHypercar+,” has an annual subscription price of $14,900. This exclusive pricing offer is limited to the first 2,000 users in the US and China markets. Through the support of Web 3.0 technology, FF has designed a system separating software and hardware, aiming to allow car users to truly own the software as an asset for the first time. The FF 91 2.0, the world’s first silicon-based new species
The first of its kind, the “All-Ability aiHypercar” FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance is a newly evolved silicon-based new species, which features incredible vehicle configurations and performance. Three motors with 1050hp; 1977Nm of electric motor output torque, largest in class; battery pack energy: 142kwh, the largest in class; EPA certified range: 381mi, the farthest in class.
The FF 91 has the “moat body structure” + “moat pack structure”, creating a side impact crumple zone. The "moat structures" are integrated with the aluminum body, providing the largest-in-class battery crumple zone. The “moat design” is intended to balance optimal occupant protection and high voltage battery protection as well as providing optimal packaging space for the vehicle design.
The FF 91 vehicle successfully passed the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) crash test requirements. FF has performed the highest severity crash tests and has passed all of these tests successfully, including front, side and rear crash tests.
FF 91 2.0 also boasts the longest interior space among ultra-luxury vehicles with a similar wheelbase + Zero-Gravity seat with the industry's largest recline angle of 60 degrees, bringing the comfort level of first class to land. With an acceleration time of just 2.27 seconds for 0-60 mph (96 km/h), the FF 91 2.0 takes the top spot in terms of acceleration-to-weight ratio of 0.78, surpassing traditional and electric vehicle competitors alike. With the next-generation technology architecture, the “FF aiHyper 6x4 Architecture 2.0,” powered by FF AI, the FF 91 2.0 has the capability to perceive user habits, engage in continuous learning and evolve, with the goal of surpassing users’ understanding of themselves. Through the “3rd aiSpace”, users can fully indulge in the unique convenience and enjoyment.
The FF 91 2.0 boasts dimensions of 5,250 x 2,283 x 1,598 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 3,200 mm. With its spacious interior, it sets a global benchmark for wheelbase-to-space ratio. In terms of exterior design, the FF 91 2.0 is truly space-age, with its innovative matrix-style LED headlights that span across the front and rear of the vehicle.
It provides signature customization including the option for Founder Signature Edition, “1-on-1 bespoke private AI and special tuning”. It will be available in three Alliance colors of bright silver and matte silver, matte black, as well as an exclusive wheel design.

The first ninety one Alliance users will receive a high-speed Internet satellite communications suite (free upgrades and installation expected to be provided when available).
Consumer owned software would be a breakthrough in the automotive industry and even the consumer electronics industry.
We are now accepting full payment for the FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance to preorder the vehicle and be trained in the use of the vehicle. We have also re-opened vehicle pre-ordering. 2023.05.30 22:05 ghplus FedEx Not Even Attempting to Deliver My Package TWICE!

We have a large order for our business that requires a signature request. The packages were supposed to be delivered on the 28th but the package never came which I thought was due to Memorial Day Weekend. However the tracking # said delivery exception customer not available. Then today upon redelivery the same exact thing happened.
Both times the driver didn't even attempt to make the delivery. My office window faces directly into the street where I can see the trucks park and deliver packages. The FedEx truck never came and nobody knocked on the door either day. There also was not a door tag left to inform us of the delivery and signature request.
This is the 2nd time this month I have had a large & expensive order for our business that has been screwed up by FedEx. What the heck is going on? Why are the drivers now not even attempting to deliver the packages and saying they did? This is getting ridiculous.

2023.05.30 21:50 wizard-of-loneliness Tips for New Drivers?

Hello - my partner and I are struggling financially for a variety of personal reasons; they've been unemployed for several months but have no desire to go back to a 9-5 job. I make just a little too little for them to be a stay at home parent, which is honestly what I would prefer, but we're also dealing with legal issues, paying lawyers, supporting kids half time, etc etc - I do not need them to be making a full time salary but if they could make like $1k a month doing goPuff or similar that would make life a million times easier. We do not need this to be any kind of primary income for the family, just a bit of a supplement.
They haven't done their first shift yet but they're planning to tomorrow night after I'm done with work and they no longer have the kids. First question - are we going to get in trouble if I go with them and just chill in the car while they pick stuff up/make deliveries?
Second question - do y'all have any tips for maximizing profits and/or anything you wish you'd known when you started that you learned the hard way?
Thank you so much for your input. I don't know if $1k a month is realistic in any way but it's not like goPuff is the ONLY thing they can do, it just seems like one of the chillest ways for them to dip their toes back in the water, especially if they want to make their own schedule, etc. Even if that goal isn't realistic without full time+ hours any money at all would be great - even if we could just pay the lawyer bills we'd be okay.
Please don't be judgey about them being a deadbeat or anything like that, we're both incredibly stressed and if I had someone who was willing to keep me afloat during a very hard time in my life I would fully accept that, albeit maybe feel a bit guilty, which they very much do. I've been at my job which is pretty cushy for over a decade and it's enough to support myself under normal circumstances, and so far we've made it well enough. Just a little extra income would make things so much easier, though, and it's not that they're unwilling to work, just that we've been making it okay enough for now and we're both struggling with being generally overwhelmed. We suddenly owe another $2,300 in lawyer's fees (hopefully on a payment plan) right now though, on top of $5k we're already paying off that we can't really afford together until the case progresses a little more and then we'll be good for a long time.
Sorry for probably giving way too much personal information.
TL;DR what are your tips for a new driver that you wish you had known sooner? is it against the rules to have someone ride along with you?

2023.05.30 12:48 INSDAhmedabad300 An Overview of Interior Design Courses Which Will Help You To Take The Right Decision

Introduction
In order to make a building's interior a welcome, safe, and functional space for people who use it, interior design combines art with science. Interior designers use their creativity and technical skills to plan, design, and oversee the execution of interior projects. They'll work with the client to get a feel for their needs and objectives, so they can draw on their experience of space planning, color theory, furniture selection or whatever else is involved when designing spaces that are both functional and beautiful.
Career Outlook
The career outlook for interior designers is positive. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that from 2020 to 2030, employment in the Interior Design Industry is projected to increase by 13 % as against an average for all professions. The primary driver of this rise is anticipated to be an increase in demand for interior design services across a range of contexts, including homes, businesses, and healthcare facilities.
Education and Training Requirements
For people who desire to become interior designers, a variety of training packages are available. The most common type of program is a bachelor's degree in interior design. However, some interior designers choose to earn a MBA in interior designing.
In addition to formal education, interior designers also need to have a strong portfolio of their work. This portfolio should showcase their design skills and their ability to create functional and beautiful spaces.
Interior design is a vast discipline that includes many different specializations, such as:

2023.05.30 09:56 AnselmoTheHunter Hoşçakal Türkiye! Until next time.

I moved here many years ago. I must admit, I was terribly unsure of this place when I first arrived though. I spoke with a lot of friends that lived in different countries and none of them had been here before. I liked this idea, because I wouldn't be influenced by their opinions. I guess you can say I'm a bit of a romantic and I wanted to make my own story.
I'll never forget my first few experiences here, right off the airplane and through passport control, my service bus driver couldn't find me and when he did he was furious. We would go on to be stuck in atrocious traffic for 2+ hours after exiting Sabiha Gökçen. He let me smoke a few cigarettes in the back as I was the only pick-up. A language course took a chance on me and gave me a job while I was living in a different country, they arranged the pick-up. To be honest, they had no business hiring me as it was a huge risk for them - I didn't have any experience. But I'm happy they took it because Istanbul, and Türkiye in general, gave me so much I have no idea how to pay it all back.
At that particular language course, I made life-long friends with a couple of foreigners. But I must admit yet again, it was the foreigners (other Americans, English, Australians to be precise) that put me off of this place. Yes, there were some Turkish cultural things I couldn't understand (the Istan-bulldozer, specifically; the guy who walks directly into you was one of them). However, I grew to learn and accept many things here, and even adapted some of them into my character because Turkish people have a resilience, positive outlook (that may have disappeared) and an iron strength to take risks and not be afraid of them.
It wasn't until I met my first local friends that I started to really fall in love with this place. The amount of deep, heart-felt, caring and warm conversations we've all had over the years are fresh in my mind as if they were yesterday. My Turkish friends weren't afraid of their emotions and sharing a part of themselves, these types of moments I had always struggled to find back in the States. We are often hyper-individualistic, opportunistic, and competitive. Not always bad things, but we mustn't ever forget our group identity as well. I consider myself an open person, I like to get to know people, I love human connection - I found a home away from home in a very distant country. My family is close, we speak often, when I opened myself up to the Turkish culture I started to find more similarities between Turkish people and my family. I have an insane great-uncle back in Galicia whom many have stated: "if you needed it, he would give you the shirt off of his back" and that really describes Turkish people in a general sense. I love my Turkish friends, and I will never be able to thank them enough for making me always feel at home. I felt out of place at times in the US, I have rarely felt this way before here. I love the Turkish culture, the language, the food, the nature, the hard-work and can-do attitude.
I've been fortunate to see a lot of the world (at the expense of savings/investments, while I don't regret it, it would be nice to have some of that money now) and I can confidently say there are only two places in this world I ever need to see again and that is the USA, and Türkiye. I've been all the way to Indonesia, up to the UK, down to South Africa; nothing compares to the Aegean coast and I will be happy to visit every year if I can. I thank God a million times, or whoever is up there, that put me on the path that led to Istanbul.
I'm writing this into the void, but it's needed. I left the USA a child and I'm returning to the USA a man. I thank the Turkish people for all of this. I thank them for all of the life lessons, and for giving me my work ethic. No one works as hard as Turkish people in my experience. I'm leaving with my wife, and our future child.
Do we want to leave? No. For us personally, life has fallen apart and only gotten worse over the last 4 years. When the taxi drivers ask why we're leaving, I always start the conversation that things were fine before COVID, but quickly got worse. It's really irrelevant to list off everything that has happened, if you speculate, there's a chance you'll make a list of 10 reasons why we're leaving, and you'll be correct 8/10 minimum. I hate politics, I didn't used to hate politics, I once made it a huge part of my identity. But that doesn't matter, no one should be in power for 20+ years, and it disgusts me that he will get another 5. What's upsetting is that any rational person understands that the only constant is change, so why not change something? Doesn't everyone need it? Haven't every single one of us here lived through enough? Green beans / kilo 60TL? I've watched my purchasing power, my salary, my comfortable life as a foreigner in Türkiye disappear into nearly nothing. This is no place to raise a family, this sends the wrong message. I hold only contempt for the ignorance that continues to enjoy their suppression and lack of vision for their future.
The discussion about leaving began 3 years ago, I don't blame Sunday evening's result on this. We knew that things would perhaps continue to get difficult even if the one who we all wanted to win had won. How can you put back together this mess in a quick manner? No one will be able to do so, it will take years to correct the course economically, and that correction may take another 5+years on top of the 5 we all must wait for. I wanted a simple middle class life, that's always been my goal. An apartment, one car, two kids. That is impossible with the current salary that I make. Impossible. I hear from many supporters that the people here in Türkiye live outside of their means. Bullshit. A 2016 Hyundai does not cost 800,000 TL and any ignorant fool should see that.
There is no freedom to speak your mind here, my boss simply stated "Turkish people love to be controlled and told what to do, they don't want freedom". I'm sorry to say, I agreed with him. This of course excludes the ones who didn't vote for the status quo. If there were a freedom to speak your mind, this wouldn't have happened. One day, I hope you'll enjoy the pleasure to say something along the lines of Fuck you Trump, Fuck you Biden - it's something that is relieving and important in any functioning society. Enough with insult laws, what pettiness.
So, thank you for everything, I'll be back every year. I love this place, and I will never forget what it gave me. I hope for all of you that you will survive this storm. Knowing Turkish people, you will. Türkiye is a safe, warm, and welcoming country, please never forget this. Godspeed, see you next time.
