Last week we announced some great news on the big picture front. On the programming front, we are continuing to work hard at developing movies that reach a certain quality level and therefore are worth your time to watch. We have great appreciation for your commitment to us and we never want to disappoint. I believe we fell a little bit short in first quarter with some of our movies and we are working hard to premiere better product for the remainder of 2023 and beyond. To give you a sense of how seriously we are taking this commitment to quality content, we recently passed on an original movie because we did not believe you would thoroughly enjoy it, while our primary competitor acquired and aired the film a couple of weeks ago.
As a result of trying to create the best experience for you, while at the same time meeting our business needs, I want to let you know we will likely be holding our premieres back until late July or early August. Since this is a significant change and counter to my last email indicating we premiere new movies in June, I wanted you to hear about this directly from me. The silver lining here is we will be able to offer you a new movie every Saturday night throughout the remainder of the year once we get started this Summer. As an aside, we will have a Christmas in July premiere that we held from airing during Great American Christmas 2022 in order to rework the storyline as much as possible (feel free to read between the lines there and plan your viewing accordingly as the movie turned out “fine!”)
The production of our Christmas movie slate is in full swing! Candace’s Christmas movie is already produced, and we’ll once again have movies with Danica (Fall & Christmas), Jen Lilley (possibly TWO Christmas movies with her), Jill Wagner and many of your other favorite stars!
The last piece of news involves movies that many of you have expressed a passion for - cozy mysteries in the tradition of Aurora Teagarden. We have heard your requests loud and clear, and we are working with Candace and MPCA Productions on a few concepts that should be ready to premiere early in 2024. In addition, we may have a special surprise premiere at some point over the next couple of months in the mystery genre – it is not perfect, but I do believe you will enjoy it! While the publicity team will not be happy that I am getting out ahead of them with this news, I consider you all Great American Family “Family Insiders” and I’ll have to ask their forgiveness if word gets out!

How disconnected from reality must one be to make a beginner tutorial about something that requires assets from Github and thinks it is easy enough that no one needs a detailed explanation on how to actually download the assets. Many projects there don't even have a download button for the main thing and you need to it figure out yourself, what the actual important part is you are looking for. It gets even better when the tutorial-maker doesn't even show the asset in the first place and tells you to "just download it".
In the best case, you find the right file but then you also get a bunch of errors because it has a lot of dependencies accross the project and you just say "fuck it" and download the entire fucking repository and slap it in a folder. But surprise, even then some dependencies and namespaces are still missing for some fucking reason. Why do you think that every noob understands the work-flow of Github? Just take those extra 10 seconds and show how you got the required files.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of May 29, Kyiv was attacked by UAVs and Kh-101/555 missiles, but air defense forces destroyed more than 40 air targets without hitting them.

For context, I’ve struggled with romantic relationships my whole life. I came from a pretty sheltered upbringing, and didn’t exactly know what to do when in a relationship. However, that never stopped me from becoming emotionally invested in people. It’s probably my greatest flaw.
After a few breakups and one in particular after my freshman year of college, I had started to find relief in the internet. I have had sex before and I’ve been addicted to porn for the longest time, but there’s something about having an actual interaction that made porn seem worthless to me. I wanted more. I started trying to find online communities to meet people my age, and see if anything would happen if you know what I mean. And it did. Many times. Just virtual stuff. But it made me feel good for a split second, and then like shit all over again. It repeated for almost a year and I had tried talking to girls in person again to have a real relationship, but I kept returning to the shit that made me so mad at myself.
Eventually I was on one of those apps where you talk to random people, and I straight up had the intention of trying to have some sort of sexual experience, but I got on the call with a girl whose profile picture was absolutely beautiful. We talked for about 10 seconds and then the thought of anything sex related completely left my mind. I was having a genuine conversation and it was amazing. We talked for about 2 hours before she gave me her Snapchat, and we continued talking before heading to bed.
For more context, she lived in the other side of the country from me. About a 13 hour drive (if that helps give you an idea). I also know what you might be thinking. “Oh you were catfished”. But I wasn’t. We upgraded to FaceTiming almost every night, she would tell me about her work and funny customer interactions and I would make her laugh by sharing some of my experiences too. We both loved playing minecraft, and so I paid for a realm so we could play together. We spent so many days playing on that world, which I still have somewhere. At one point I wanted to surprise her, so I made a massive mural of her with Minecraft blocks that made a picture of her cat. She absolutely loved it.
I should also mention that this wasn’t just like talking every now and then. I spent so much of my day speaking to her, Texting her, and I was in absolute bliss. I finally was talking to someone who had similar faith beliefs as me, political affiliation, and general life views. For the first time, I saw a future with someone.
Now you might remember that she lives super far away, and we’ve never met in person yet. So we came up with a plan for me to fly out and meet her. We planned for weeks. And as one would, she talked to her parents, and I talked to them over FaceTime and had a really good conversation with her mom, and even some of her friends. Everything was going smoothly, but then something changed. As the date for me to fly there for closer, we both started to get really sad. I think the reality of the situation was sinking in. Neither of us were afraid to share feelings with each other, part of why this connection was so amazing, so we voiced it to each other. She then proceeded to call everything off. Lots of sad words were said, and most of them I remember to this day.

Those are just a few of the sentences that sometimes keep me up at night, and they cut some pretty deep wounds that have yet to heal. I didn’t want a long distance relationship, but it was something I would’ve done in a heartbeat if it meant being with her, she just knew it would hurt so much to jump into that, so we ripped off the bandaid early i guess to save us from more sadness. Although I’m not sure if that’s totally true, As this whole situation f-ed me up pretty good.
I should also mention that not only did we talk over the phone, but we sent each other gifts too. I remember sending her a stuffed animal, along with an actual living plant. She loved the plant the and the stuffed animal was an inside joke between us. I didn’t expect anything in return, but she sent something to me too. She was very crafty and made me some very cool things. She knows I love dinosaurs, so she crocheted me a small trex that can fit in the palm of my hand. She also sent me a tshirt with a note attached “you can wear this when you come to visit”. And lastly, she painted me a picture of iron-man, because she knows I love it. But that wasn’t it. Inside the picture frame was one of the best things I have ever received as a person. It was a note. Kind of like a love letter of sorts. We often sent each other long texts about how we made each other happy, and how it was so weird that we felt such a strong connection even though we had never met in person. But anyways, her note said this:
“Dear (me),
I never thought I would find myself in this wonderful yet unusual situation. Even though the space between us is inconvenient, I realize that I would be stupid to waste this opportunity because you are truly special. If I had a chance to do anything right now, it would be to appear by your side. I will wait however long it takes if it means I get to meet you one day. I want you to have this as a piece of me that will always be with you.

As you might have guessed I hold a lot of value to that note, and I received it before she broke off the trip where I was to visit. We still talked almost daily, with some breaks inbetween, because we were trying to heal from the sadness of not being able to meet.
In the time after that happened, we’ve both been in relationships, and I’ve definitely hinted at still having feelings. And she’s never completely shut me down. I think that’s the hardest part. Part of me is begging her to tell me that I need to move on, and that we’ll never be together, but I know she’ll never tell me that.
Of course, lots happened that I have not shared in this post, as meeting her, all the way up to planning to visit her happened over the course of 6 months I think. A week from now will mark two years since I was supposed to fly down to see her. And it still hurts. I could explain the situation in further detail if anyone is interested. In those two years much has changed in our friendship that has left me questioning everything.
Regardless. If she gave me the word I would pack my bags and move to live near her in a heartbeat, because I know I’d be happier with her than anyone else.

My (40F) Fiancé (40M) are getting married. I’ve been married and divorced plus have 2 kids. He has been single except of one major relationship but I think it lasted less than a year.
We both have some serious emotional baggage that effects our relationship. I had a very controlling relationship with verbal, financial, and physical (our last fight) abuse that ended up leaving me and my ex’s kids homeless and hungry. He (fiancé) was raised by an alcoholic pill popping mother who on several occasions tried to run him over with her car.
When we met(2018) I had a great job a paid off house and a paid off car. He had a great job, a truck with payment, and a home in another state that was rented out for the same as the mortgage and about 80k in savings/retirement. Shortly after meeting he bought another house as he was living with his dad.
A year or so into our relationship (2019)he started talking about marriage. I was against it at first but then said I would consider it as long as we had a prenup written to where the kids and I would end up with our current home and a paid off 20k car and leave him with his retirement, his savings, his houses and his vehicle. It upset my fiancé that I would want a prenup because he felt that it would only protect me.
Now we’ve been living together in my home and I pay for all utilities and groceries until my funds are exhausted then I use his. This started because the company I worked for folded and I spiraled into a really bad depression. About a year into that I started getting help. Mid 2020 I was better enough to start looking for a different job. He picked up the financial slack for that time. He told me his brother was going to retire in 13 years and he wanted to beat him to it. I came up with a plan. He sold his two homes that were rentals but not profitable and I sold my car. We bought 10 houses, 9 tenant occupied, and I got to work rehabbing one. He paid for everything and I did the labor with my own hands. I had to tear the floors out down to the dirt. We hired out the vinyl finished flooring (I did all the framing and subfloor) and electrical. We bought the house for 30k and it appraised for $112. We cash out refi’d the house and used that money to pay for the next one that I am rehabbing. Again doing all the labor, but it takes a really long time because I’m all alone. He comes to help me maybe once or twice a month for no more than 4 hours at a time. I also do 80%-ish maintenance on tenant occupied properties. Some things I just can’t do.
We are getting married in October. He just told me he wants a prenup saying he gets 70% of our business. Everything is in his name, including the truck I’m driving. He could legally walk away with everything except my home. I know it sounds lame but this work has taken a toll on my body. My hands hurt everyday, I think I’m getting arthritis from the constant shaking of demo tools. In the mean time he has a full time job in an air conditioned office.
Had I known that my contribution would leave me feeling trapped and only gain me 30% I don’t feel I would have made the same decisions. I would have made more money to contribute to my own wealth and the well-being of my kids. I really feel like I’ve been taken advantage of and backed into a corner. If I don’t sign I get nothing if I do sign I get less than what I think I deserve. He says he took all the risk by selling his houses so he gets more. He says he worked his ass off to pay for them, but they were both mortgaged, and I worked my ass off to pay for mine and did all the work rehabbing it while I lived in it. My kids and I didn’t have running water for a over a month while I worked on plumbing and bathroom renovations. I paid for it all and had zero debt. He brought 20k in credit card debt that he says we spent together during our dating phase.
He says it’s all hypothetical and doesn’t mean anything because it only happens if we split, but I guess it shows me how he feels about my role and my contribution. I feel like this is going to do long term damage to our relationship and I can already feel resentment on my part.
Can we recover?
My entire family has bought plane tickets to come see us married and he didn’t bring it up until now.

Then **Ash wake up and he just realized that he was invited to see the Pokemon Contest final (Serena Vs Aria) in Kalos, but when Ash went to Kalos, he saw his Greninja being unconscious because of being overworked for cutting wood so many years non stop without taking any break (Lol!)**

Episode 2: **It's only 1 hours before Pokemon Contest final starts,** Ash had sent his Greninja into Pokemon center. Meanwhile **Bonnie and Clemont calls Ash that the plant from Giant Rock had nearing the Luminse City.** Ash and Lucario attempt to sense where's the source of those plant are but unable to. Meanwhile at this time, **Greninja had been fully recovered and returns to Ash!**

Episode 3: **Greninja had been recovered!** With Greninja's help, Ash was finally able to find the source of the Giant Rock- on underground. Clemont used the newly devloped drill to make the tunnel so that Ash (with Pikachu, Lucario and Greninja), Clemont (with Luxray) and Bonnie (With squishy) will able to reach the underground and saw the core of those plants. **With the combined effort of Pikachu, Lucario, Greninja, Luxray and Squishy, they was able to destroy the core and stopping the Giant Rock plant once and for all.**

**Episode 4:** After the Giant Rock Plant Core had been Destroyed, Ash had found that the Pokemon Contest final had already begin. Ash was tried to reach Pokemon Contest as soon as possible. At first, Aria's excellent Contest skills makes Serena begin to self-doubt if she could made it, but Ash was eventally managed to arrives and cheers Serena, allowing **Serena to unlock Bond Transformation on Her Delphox to become Serena-Delphox and become Kalos Queen** (Yes, I made her Kalos Queen that early because I have struggle to write Pokemon Contest chapters)

To celebrating Serena become Kalos Queen, Ash was going to buy the new clothes for Serena as suprise gift so that Serena can put her Blue Ribbon back on her chest**, but Ash have struggle to do so because Ash know nothing about clothing style, but thanks to Diantha's help, Ash was eventally able to find the clothes that fits Serena and fits her Blue Ribbon.

Clemont was managed to find Xerosic, but Xerosic was wearing some power protector which overpowers all of his pokemon and his chesnaught! Xerosic was teasing that Clemont's science is terrible, **but Clemont determination that the science was supposed to be used for justice allows his chesnaught to unlock the bond transformation to become Clemont-chesnaught**, allowing Clemont to defeat Xerosic and sent Xerosic back to jail. Unfortunately, Xerosic was managed to damage the Prism Tower which forcing Clemont, Bonnie and Meyer to living in Ash's house temporarily until the Prism Tower had been rebuilt.

Ever since Pidgeot had reunited with Ash, those Fearow had rapidly reproduce, quickly take over the Viridian Forest and begin to spread out of nowhere! Those Fearow demands Ash's Pidgeot in exchange for those Pidgey and Pidgeotto's life and the Blue Ribbon. Ash and Pidgeot arrived Viridian Forest but those Pidgey and Pidgeotto told them not to leave his Pidgeot here because they thinks that the Pidgeot was belong to Ash and Ash refuse to leave his Pidgeot here. Those Fearow now attempt to hurt those Pidgey and Pidgeotto and ate the Blue Ribbon! Ash Mega Evolved his Pidgeot to fight against those Fearow but being slowly outnumbered by those Fearow. On the verge of Ash's Pidgeot's defeat, those Pidgey and Pidgetto had evolved into Pidgeot and helps Ash's Pidgeot to defeat those Fearow and give Ash back the Blue Ribbon, ending those Fearow's threat once and for all! Ash and his Pidgeot was bid farewell to those Pidgeot and give the Blue Ribbon back to Serena, now Ash's Pidgeot can live with Ash forever!

Gary brings Ash and Serena to visit the extension of Professor Oak's laboratory (Clemont and Bonnie was here too!). Meanwhile, Giovanni had arrived the laboratory and defeated Professor Oak. Gary came out and fight against Giovanni once again and.....lose once again. Meanwhile, the **Team Rocket Grunts kidnapped Professor Oak while they're battling and Giovanni had left the laboratory!**

Epsiode 10: Giovanni kidnapped Professor Oak to Team Rocket base to make Professor Oak works for him. Ash and Gary was thinking about how to save Giovanni. Meanwhile, the Team Rocket trio appears once again and attempt to steal his Pikachu, but Misty and Brock arrives and saves Ash's Pikachu. Ash respond with a heavy heart as Ash aware that this might be their last time to prepare for trouble as Ash had decided to destroy Team Rocket once and for all (Yes, he feels sympathy for those Team Rocket Trio because he aware that Team Rocket Trio have heart) and Ash's pikachu sent Team Rocket Trio flying once again like usual!

Epsiode 11: Thanks to Clemont's science, Ash, Misty, Brock and Gary was able to track down the location of Team Rocket base. Clemont gives Ash the device which allows Ash to freely switch his Pokemon party anywhere and anytime. **Ash, Misty, Brock and Gary went to Team Rocket base while leaving Serena, Clemont and Bonnie at Ash's house. Ash, Misty, Brock and Gary charging towards Team Rocket Base and begin the final battle against Team Rocket!**

Epsiode 12: **Ash, Misty, Brock and Gary fight against thousands of Team Rocket Grunts** who "Welcomed" them. But they slowly outnumbered by those Team Rocket Grunts and they realized that those Team Rocket Grunts are here to buying Giovanni's time! **Misty and Brock decided to stay here and clean the road for Ash and Gary to reach Team Rocket Base!** Meanwhile, Professor Oak had been tied into the chair which extract his knowledge about the pokemon.

Epsiode 13: Ash and Gary was finally managed to find Giovanni and Professor Oak. Giovanni transfer his consciousness into the Armored Mewtwo (this Mewtwo is different from the first movie one and it's nothing more than Giovanni's new body) while Gary was going to save Professor Oak. **Serena, Clemont and Bonnie saw the news about Ash is fighting Armored Mewtwo and decided to head to Team Rocket base together with the help of met Korrina, Alain and Diantha.** Meanwhile, Ash had been defeated by Giovanni and being tied outside the Team Rocket base!

Epsiode 14: **Clemont, Bonnie and Serena met Korrina, Alain and Diantha to rescue Ash**, but being interrupted by the artifical pokemon army. Meanwhile Giovanni was about to end Ash's life, but being stopped by Gary. **Inside Ash's mental world, Aaron was teaching Ash to master Aura power. After Ash mastered the Aura power, Ash breaks free with his newly mastered Aura power and team up with Gary to fight against Giovanni.**

Epsiode 15: **Thanks to Ash and Gary's excellent teamwork,** in addition of Ash's mastered Aura power, **Giovanni had been easily defeated and Giovanni's mewtwo armor had been teared apart.** At the same time, **Misty, Brock, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, Korrina, Alain and Diantha had defeated al of the grunts and artifical pokemon army and reunited with Ash and Gary.** Meanwhile, Giovanni still refused to give up, he used the knowledge that being extracted from Professor Oak to create the gigantic ultimate pokemon called Chimera. Giovanni insert his consciousness into Chimera and razed half of Pallet Town into ground!

Epsiode 16: Despite the combined effort of **Ash, Gary, Misty, Brock, Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, Korrina, Alain and Diantha**, Chimera was proven too much for those heroes to handle! 1. What a gorgeous location, can't believe they knocked the house down
2. All there in the pilot but you're glad when they introduce the proper theme music.
3. Really it all comes down to the relationship between Magnum and Higgins, in fact the writers sometimes seem to struggle to fit Rick and TC into the plot.
4. The lads are missing from a lot of shows?
5. You forget how dark it could be at times, especially the ep with the serial killer taunting Thomas with rhymes and the Frank Sinatra ep (basically recreating his character from The Detective). Can't believe how they killed off Tanaka.
6. Some interesting familiar faces, notably a very young Shannen Doherty and a very gorgeous Sharon Stone. Really liked Dana Delany, it would have been nice to see her and TM together.
7. Very much a boys club, Agatha is my favourite female character, amazed to find that the actress was just a legal secretary who did some am dram on the side, this is her only role
8. Some stunning women but Erin Grey is my favourite, I'd have watched a J Digger Doyle series but she went to Silver Spoons instead.
9. The show was definitely running out of steam in the last couple of seasons, they keep coming up with goofy filler eps to break the formula. Although I did like Raiders of the Lost Art, Tom would have made a great Indiana Jones.
10. Solo Flight is frustrating for me, Magnum has his watch, his belt buckle and his bracelet, why not just use them to scrape the soil out from under his legs and free them from under the plane? It's obviously trying to recreate Home from the Sea but doesn't quite do it.
11. Glad they didn't finish with Limbo although it's a good ep
12. The Murder She Wrote crossover is just plain weird. Simon and Simon work better, so many backdoor pilots, especially Luthor Gillis.
13. Home from the Sea is the best ep ever, really tugs the heartstrings although Unfinished Business comes close, you see what a military badass TM is and so feel for him when he has to make his decision at the end, his final letter to his daughter is a tearjerker.
14. Yes, the paranormal is real in Magnum. Is Higgins Robin Masters? I say no but he may be his ghostwriter.
15. Loved the ending, Magnum has his daughter back and re-joins the navy. I always thought he did that to provide for her but on rewatching he seems to have made the decision beforehand, his final goodbye to the camera is great.

I’m a nearly 27yr old (birthday in June), living in Australia with suspected endometriosis. Both my mother and sister are diagnosed via laparoscopy.
I came off the contraceptive pill in Feb/March 2021. Due wanting to not take medication everyday.
I was on the contraceptive pill for over 10 years and originally put on for painful periods.

• Coming off the pill in 2021, I experienced quite serious mental health concerns but they passed after 3-4 months post pill.
• Then I experienced horrible adult acne for about a year and a half.
• I ended up in hospital September 2021 with a cyst found on my right ovary.
• Fast track 2023, I’ve been getting my period every 3 weeks for roughly a year and a half it seems.
• This has caused fairly low iron.
• April 2023 I had a pelvic ultrasound so that I could be referred to a public gynaecologist.
• they found a cyst this time in my left ovary. They are unsure whether it is a endometrioma or a hemorrhagic cyst.
• I got a referral outpatient letter returned saying I’m “category 3” which means “Appointment within 365 days desirable; AND Condition is unlikely to deteriorate quickly; AND Condition is unlikely to require more complex care if assessment is delayed beyond 365 days.”
• I’m due to get another pelvic ultrasound June 2023, which I am not looking forward to as the last one as extremely painful.

I’m writing this at the end of May, desperate as my periods are becoming more and more painful. I am feeling incredibly frustrated that my body is betraying me, as I consider myself quite a healthy person.
I’m looking for answers as should I… (a) try to somehow wait to be seen by the outpatient gynaecologist, they will be able to look into laparoscopy and marina treatments?
(b) go back on the contraceptive pill? (I’m not keen on this as I feel like it’s a blanket/Band-Aid approach) plus what it did for my mental health.
I’m confused to what the best “treatment” even is for endometriosis…

I haven’t been on this sub in a while so I don’t know what’s been said on the topic but I’ll leave this here regardless. As you know there were elections in Turkey and Erdoğan won again. I’ve been seeing some “anti-imperialist” accounts on Twitter celebrating the occasion as a victory against imperialism, and quoting Morales or Maduro or someone else wishing Erdoğan the best. This is the result of an incredibly infantile political mindset that divides everything into imperialism/anti-imperialism while ignoring class struggle. If you look at the Turkish economy you’ll see that the share of national income going to capital is rising while the share going to labour is falling. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. The population is getting proletarianised at a rapid pace with even children going to work in 19th century Britain-esque conditions. If you ignore this and only focus on Erdoğan’s “anti-imperialism” you’re not a Marxist, and if you really think Erdoğan is an anti-imperialist you’re clearly an idiot. Moments after his victory, Turkish troops and Turkish backed units occupying northern Syria fired into the air to celebrate, terrorising the civilians. Is this what people call anti-imperialism? I like Morales and I’m neutral on Maduro but they aren’t authorities here. For them turkey is only a box that represents exports and imports; they have good trade relations with the country so they’ll keep up appearances by celebrating Erdoğan’s victory. For us living here it’s much more. The people who put the most work into the campaign against Erdoğan were Kurds and leftists, but nobody asks us about anything. I sat down on the train. A Little girl sits next to me and her "Karen" mum sits across. About 10 minutes after train moves i start playing on nintendo switch. Little girl sees it and asks if she can play i said yes but ask mum. Mum says yes so let her play. I also ask what stop they getting off at as im getting off few stops before the end of the line.
After about a hour im coming very close to station i said sorry sweetie im getting off here and LG hands switch back to me with a big smile and a even bigger THANK YOU.
Its been nice and quiet for a hour and it was fantastic seeing the happiness on the LG face while she was playing then it all went downhill. Enter the "Karen"
"Karen" then says my MY little girl is having so much fun with the switch cant she keep playing? I said no sorry im getting off at the next stop
"Karen" goes NUCLEAR and shouts out. MY Daughter is having more fun with it then you whats a grown man doing playing with a childrens toy just give it to her. I said i have GIVEN it to her for the past hour to play with while you've been playing with your phone. "Karen" screams if you gave it to her then its hers and not yours (wtf) i asked her if she heard of the concept of borrowing something and saw my stop coming.
Without further ado i pick up my bag with the switch packed nicely away i then said to the LG you seem like a very nice well behaved little girl please dont turn out like your mother. Walked off the train after getting last word in breathed the sweet air of freedom then met mates in the pub where i told this story. Didnt know the whole pub was listening until everyone roared with laughter and barman gave us a free pint of Guinness. Lovely!

Race Report Ottawa Marathon May 28,2023
2nd marathon. Previous and PB 3:46:53 (Quebec Marathon Oct 2022)
Location : Ottawa, ON Temperatures around 25-30 degrees Celsius

Training
My previous marathon I really didn’t have a plan and was probably running about 40-50km a week leading up with one long run of 29km and one of 25km, which probably led to my stress fracture after the Quebec Marathon
This time I followed the Higdon’s advanced marathon plan and logged about 1200km since January 2023. I feel the extra miles really helped, and I was better prepared, even if most of the time running was on the treadmill due to the extreme cold temperatures and snowfall where I live during winter.
Pre-race
Drank a Maurten 320 drink the night before. Breakfast consisted of Maurten 160 mix, toast with PB.
I had a race plan that a friend helped me create that prevented me from going out too fast, and crashing at the later stages
Race
The day was hot. It was a shock for me after running in temperatures less than 15 degrees Celsius for the last while. Temperatures hit close to 30, and it really had an effect.
I had a Maurten gel every 6km, and a nuun drink at every water station. One nuun drink and one cup of water dumped over my head to stay cool. This I feel helped me combat the heat as best I could
Really felt good for the majority of the race. Had a tight stomach cramp around 39km. Had to stretch it out and then carried on. I think the extra gel at 36km might’ve been too much
Post Race
Going to take 2 weeks off and really recover. Very happy with my results of this one but I do want to continue to improve. Summer and fall I can really take advantage of training because Winter is really tough at home. I may look into some coaching to really get the most of my efforts for the next few months. I was looking at a few Canadian online coaches and may reach out to see what my best option is.
I’m eyeing another marathon October 8th which should give me ample time to recover and train again
This is my first race report, any tips are welcomed.
