I got the bike like this about a year and a half ago, and while it doesn't affect how it drives (that I've noticed) it throws me off visually. If I use my fuel tank as reference for a parallel line with my handlebars, the front wheel is about 5 degrees off center. It's always in the back of my mind that it could wobble on me at highway speeds though, so I'd like to repair it. Any help would be very appreciated. I have the 97-98 Softail factory service manual, but I don't know exactly which procedure I should be looking at.

Driving back home to Calgary from Ontario we realize the next closest gas station is closed, and we don't have enough gas to leg it to the next town, or even double back to the last town, so we're stuck in Upsala. We pull out our phones and start googling all possibilities, gas stations motels, anything at all, but nothing's open or in reach, there's one hotel in the little town, and it only a few KM away, so we drive down to see if there's any hope of anything, and what we found was just peculiar. The place is completely empty. Not one single car, except for a truck parked by the dark office. The super weird thing is, every single room, clearly has a Tv, because we see they're all turned on, we don't really register at first, we're just desperate for beds, because our vehicle is stuffed full of cargo we're bringing with us, we can barely lean the seats back, if we have to sleep at the gas station, it's going to be uncomfortable, so we leave the hotel, go back to the closed gas station and begin to resolve to our fates of crappy car sleeping, when it starts to dawn on us, there were no cars in any of the parking spaces.. but every single tv is turned on. Why is absolutely every tv on? And weirder still the casted light was eerily similar, we start joking that, oh maybe all the tvs were playing the same thing, maybe just one of those hotel default channels that show previews of movies you can rent? We're sitting ald listening to Dexter's Final Cut while we try to fall asleep, but something about the place has us just weirded out. The place is totally empty, but every tv is on, just why?
We decide we have to get another look. We'll burn more precious fuel to answer the itching questions, it's only a couple KM. So we roll up and it's the same scene, empty but we can see light casting in the windows for every unit, and again eerily similar, but wr can't see the actual screens from this angle. We go back inside the parking lott, noting the noise our muffler makes, using our phones zoom, i peek in the window and snap some pictures, as quickly as i can, and i see a man in a helmet throw up the Sig Hiel solute, and some tanks and then a wide shot of what looks like a concentration camp or army base, unable to recognize the film playing we roll down the line of units and see the exact same stuff playing on every single screen in the place, we flip around to drive back out, and see tvs on the opposite wall, because this place flips the units every other unit so the tvs are on either side of the same dividing wall, and again, same exact film, every unit, it doesn't appear to be switching content showing previews, it looks like every tv is on the same channel or playing the same content, in sync! If it's the same channel or a CCTV system, okay, fine, but why is every one of them on, if there are no cars in the whole place? Who was like, okay for our CCTV promo, lets go with soluting Nazis, or lets put all the TVs on the same channel and scare the shit out of people who get stranded here.
Now we're back at the closed gas station. In total, we've seen 4 or 5 other cars show up, check the gas pumps and either continue down the road, or double back. Now, this place is pretty dead quiet, other than the occasional semi or train, but for some reason, we've heard multiple, quickly stifled car alarms, from the direction of the hotel. At least one of them happened a few moments after one of our stranded mates in another car headed up that way, and it sounded about that far away. Just a couple quick blasts thst sounded like an alarm or a frantic honking, then silence.
What the fuck have we stumbled upon, why are all the TVs on, why the fuck are they all playing the same thing, and why is it Nazis??? I'm going to post all the photos in the comments as well. I'm hoping someone can tell what film this is and it's something benine.
If i'm still alive and not tied up with my eyelids sliced off i. Front of one of those creepy screens, i'll go try to take another look tomorrow morning, but first i need gas and to try to get a little bit of sleep for the 19 hour drive.
The extra kicker is that this gas station in the middle of nowhere, features a tesla supercharging station which is 24/7. If we only had a tesla, we'd be laughing.

I am trying to modify the SRTS expanded a little bit to make the fuel consumption bigger than it is at the moment. I know you can change the stats of the ships ingame but the "Fuel consumption per tile" is capped at 6, and it also says that it is capped at 6 in the .xml in the mods file. It specifically also says that they don't remember why that is the cap....
Using Rimefeller so Chemfuel is pretty abundant, and I feel like the ships have quite a huge range and rarely needs refueling. The SRAF Canary has a fuel capacity of 2000, meaning it can fly 166+ tiles and back if I put the fuel consumption on it's highest, which is just more than I ever need, and with chemfuel being abundant that refueling 4-700 chemfuel after a traderun does not feel costly I am looking for a way to increase the fuel consumption more.
An alternative is to modify the fuel capacity of the ships, but hoping someone has knowledge of how to change the consumption more!

This past weekend, we were subject to another close shave with Treasury default. Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the President's Administration were the newest contenders in a fight that is becoming all too common in our current fiscal landscape: the debt ceiling.

The debt ceiling, also known as the statutory debt limit, is a legal cap on the amount of debt the United States government can accumulate to finance its spending obligations. It is set by Congress, and any increase requires their approval. Essentially, the debt ceiling acts as a self-imposed limit to control the government's borrowing capacity.
The current form of the debt ceiling took shape with the passage of the Second Liberty Bond Act in 1917, during World War I. This act established limits on the total amount of government debt that could be outstanding at any given time. It marked a significant shift in Congress's approach, establishing a more fixed and permanent debt limit.
Over the years, several pieces of legislation have shaped the debt ceiling's operation. The Public Debt Acts of 1939 and 1941 introduced the concept of a statutory debt limit, explicitly setting a dollar amount for government borrowing. The Graham-Rudman-Hollings Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 attempted to link the debt ceiling with deficit reduction targets, imposing automatic spending cuts if those targets were not met.
The primary objective of the debt ceiling is to ensure that the government does not overspend or accumulate an unsustainable amount of debt. It serves as a “mechanism” to encourage fiscal responsibility and maintain the credibility of the United States.
However, this limit has long since lost any and all meaning. Per the Treasury’s own website-
“Since 1960, Congress has acted 78 separate times to permanently raise, temporarily extend, or revise the definition of the debt limit – 49 times under Republican presidents and 29 times under Democratic presidents.”
The ceiling has been raised by both parties, under virtually every President that has held the throne of power for the last 60 years.

Once a tool of financial restraint, it has been morphed into a political hot-potato- a game of political chicken where the parties use the impending doom of default to push through last minute spending and political priorities.
They’re using essentially nuclear brinkmanship to get things done.
The irresponsibility and shortsightedness of this cannot be overstated- as a true Treasury default would be catastrophic for the global financial system. I laid out so much in a thread on Friday, which I will lay out the basics here for review:

If the government hits the debt ceiling and Congress fails to raise it, the Treasury Department must resort to extraordinary measures to continue meeting its financial obligations. These measures include reallocating funds from various government accounts, suspending the issuance of certain types of debt, and implementing cash management techniques. However, these measures are temporary solutions and can only buy the government a limited amount of time before it runs out of funds.
In the case of the United States, this would mean the government not being able to pay interest or principal on its Treasury bonds, bills, and notes held by investors.

The first and most immediate consequence of a U.S. debt default would be a loss of confidence in American financial stability.
Treasury bonds have long been considered a safe haven investment, and a default would cause ripple effects in the many markets that use Treasuries as collateral- the repo markets, FX, swap, and money markets being just a few examples.

The value of the U.S. dollar would likely plummet as investors lose faith in its stability. This would lead to a decrease in the purchasing power of the currency, making imported goods more expensive and fueling inflation.
The EM crises that hit Thailand, Argentina and others would now come to roost in the States.
This is a serious problem because unlike other countries, the US does not have sufficient foreign exchange reserves as it is the world reserve currency.
Other countries have trillions of dollars in the vaults. We have $38B.

Interest rates would spike as investors demand higher returns to compensate for the increased risk associated with U.S. debt. This would affect borrowing costs for businesses and consumers, making it more expensive to obtain credit for investments, mortgages, and other loans.
This is occurring at record Federal debt levels- further pushing the US into a debt spiral.

Financial markets would experience significant turmoil. Stock markets could plummet as investor confidence wavers, leading to widespread panic selling.
Pension funds, mutual funds, and other investment vehicles heavily exposed to U.S. government debt would suffer substantial losses, similar to how the UK's pensions blew up as their leveraged UK bond positions were all liquidated-

The U.S. government would face challenges in raising funds to finance its operations. Without access to borrowing through Treasury securities, the government would need to rely solely on tax revenues and other limited sources of income. This could result in significant cuts to government programs and services- and government spending is a component of GDP.
We would see a collapse of GDP of several percent in just a month or two- reminiscent of the COVID shutdowns.

The global economy is intricately interconnected, and a default would disrupt markets worldwide, triggering a global financial crisis similar to the impact of the Lehman Brothers collapse in 2008.
Recall there is over $7T of Treasuries held by foreigners globally- if the US defaults, and it is not remedied immediately, then theoretically these sovereigns could begin dumping their huge Treasury debt positions on the market.
Credit rating agencies would likely downgrade the United States' sovereign debt rating. This would further increase borrowing costs, making it even harder for the government and businesses to raise capital.

The consequences of a U.S. debt default would also have long-lasting effects on the country's reputation as a reliable borrower. It could take years, if not decades, to rebuild trust among investors and regain the status of a safe haven for global capital.

Default is an unacceptable outcome, and barring an increase in the limit, the Treasury would resort to austerity measures to ensure coupon payments continue to flow out- however with deficit spending still raging, this means severe cuts to many government programs. Social Security, pensions, and veteran’s benefits would be first on the chopping block- but many more would follow in time.
Thus our worst case scenario of a “technical” default would be averted- but at what cost? Recall Treasury would have to issue new bills to pay off maturing ones, a scheme I have described eerily reminiscent of a Ponzi scheme…
And all of this at record high interest rates! The yield on the new bills would be 5.25%, pushing the Treasury deeper into a debt spiral in even the best case scenario. Their auction schedule for the next few weeks can be seen below:

However, we can all breathe a giant sigh of relief. A new debt limit deal was reached Saturday afternoon, and unsurprisingly to those of us who follow this monetary mayhem, it promises to do nothing but make the situation worse. Congress still has to pass this deal, of course.
Here are the key aspects of the deal, provided by the NYT:
  • Complete suspension of debt limit for 2 years, until 2025
  • New work requirements for certain recipients of food stamps and the Temporary Aid for Needy Families program.
  • It would limit all discretionary spending to 1 percent growth in 2025
  • accelerate the permitting of some energy projects- such as a new natural gas pipeline from West Virginia to Virginia.
  • The debt limit agreement would immediately rescind $1.38 billion from the I.R.S. and ultimately repurpose another $20 billion from the $80 billion it received through the Inflation Reduction Act.
  • The proposed military spending budget would increase to $886 billion next year, which is in line with what the President requested in his 2024 budget proposal, and rise to $895 billion in 2025.
  • A New York Times analysis of the proposal suggests it would reduce federal spending by about $55 billion next year, compared with Congressional Budget Office forecasts, and by another $81 billion in 2025. (Drops in the bucket considering the trillions of dollars of spending the government disburses annually)
Perhaps most importantly, this section was pointed out by ZeroHedge:
Although Republicans had initially called for 10 years of spending caps, this legislation includes just 2 years of caps and then switches to spending targets that are not bound by law — essentially, just suggestions.

Essentially what this means, as one Twitter user pointed out, is a removal of the budgetary limits on most government spending programs. Historically how government agencies operate, is they are given a budget and allowed to spend an amount, up to a cap, for a fiscal year. If they run close to that limit, the next year they are given the same limit, and usually plus a few extra percent, to achieve their priorities through that next calendar year.
After 2025, there will be no limits- the agencies will spend HOWEVER much they deem they need. They’ll worry about the bill later.
This is the stuff of banana republics…

Fall, 1945 After the failure of repeated efforts to break into European territory after the Normandy landings, Britain was looking to upgrade its aging fleet of cruiser light tanks to better combat the mysterious new “King Panther”, which were appearing more and more frequently on the battlefield. Internal conflicts within the British War Office escalated to fierce debates over whether to pursue upgrade packages for the Covenanter tank, or the Crusader tanks. Eventually, it was determined that the best way to determine which vehicle would be better for upgrading is to outsource development and pick the best result. You are now tasked with this momentous task of analyzing the existing fleet of cruiser vehicles, determining which one to upgrade, and designing the upgrade package. Good luck!

Contest details:
In this contest, you will get to choose whether to support the Covenanter team or the Crusader team, and utilize newer technologies to procure an upgrade package for your vehicle of choice. Entries will be judged based on their aesthetics and combat performance, along with bonus points and markdowns that can affect the score. While the War Office has permitted any feasible turret (or casemate) configuration to manufacture, they have also specified certain restrictions that entries must follow in the final product.
Vehicle upgrade packages will need to use engines and guns already in production, in order to avoid complicating Britain’s war machine further than necessary.

Hull modifications: Both the Covenanter and Crusader contain thickened frontal and side armor, along with complex mechanisms attached to them. The roof and backside, however, are much easier to modify and build upon. As a result, vehicles will be looked at less favorably if additions to the vehicle’s geometry require dismantling portions of the front, side, or bottom armor plates. This does not mean, however, that you cannot add more to them. Bolt-on armor shielding, regardless of armor thickness, will not incur a penalty. Additionally, the driver’s compartment and its respective armor face can be modified at no penalty. Vehicle aesthetics: Your prototype vehicles will be easier to get into production if the layout of vehicle components is included with your prototype. The generic hulls that you will be given to experiment with have a standard equipment and utilities loadout, and will be considered a “base” value in terms of aesthetic traits. These will both score 10 points in their current state. Adding more to its aesthetics scoring, and extending it to any turrets you may add, will increase this score by up to 10 points. Consequently, the opposite can lead to aesthetics points being removed. Should you wish to also model the interior, a “combat-ready” version of your prototype will also need to be supplied. Your combat-ready vehicle will be used for analysis in combat performance, interior space, and other physical traits. Meanwhile, your detailed prototype will be used for aesthetics scoring, and will not have weight or space limitations imposed upon it.
Combat trials: Vehicles will be fought against a fleet of captured King Panther tanks in a “trial by fire” match. Entrants will have a budget of 250 tons, meaning that lighter vehicles will have a higher team count during combat. Points will be earned based upon how many enemy vehicles are killed, and how many allies survive the mock battle. Bonus points can also be earned based on performance relative to competing proposals.
We are still awaiting for the captured King Panther tanks to arrive on the mainland, but so far we have received some details about their characteristics: -Front and side armor has received large upgrades compared to typical Panthers, in some cases up to 50mm of added thickness. -The engine seems to have been changed, to compensate for the added weight. -The vehicle’s interior seems much different than previous Panthers, which could mean they have better handling than previous models. -The gun itself seems to be the same as previous Panthers -Shielding has been added to the side, helping to further improve the armor’s performance.
Overall scoring weight: Combat trials: 60 points Aesthetics: 20 points Bonus points: 20 points Markdowns: -20 points Maximum points possible: 100
