Meeting Dave at The Atlantis (DC)
2023.05.26 13:45 Mercurialsunrise Meeting Dave at The Atlantis (DC)
Ok real talk everyone: I don’t have a ticket to the Atlantis show on Tuesday because I didn’t win the lottery. Boo, but what are you gonna do.
I live in Maryland, though, and am taking the afternoon off to go down to the Atlantis with the express goal of meeting someone from the band. Ideally Dave, but I’d be thrilled with any of them!
What’s the ideal strategy? I could be down there by about 1pm. Wish it could be earlier, but I’ve got to work.
My big question is whether to be at the front of the venue or the back. Load in for the band and crew will be through the back I assume.
What time do you think the band and crew are likely to arrive?
Thanks!! Love you all!

Both Austin and Windham backed down the ramp. Sid and Sting got right back at it and soon Sid planted Sting with a Chokeslam not the ref got over fornthe count a little slow 1-2- kickout. Sting manages to turn the tide again. The Champion is reeling gets in a few near falls then he hits another 2 Stinger Splashes. Sting locks in the Scorpian Deathlock but Sid muscles out of it. Sid takes control and its time for the Powerbomb as Nash, Hall and DDP come down the aisle. Sid let Sting go and met the trio on the ramp. Sid dropped all three with big right hands. Sting never seen what happened and he's just up to cut Sid off as he gets back in the ring. The referee gets out on the ramp to get DDP, Hall and Nash to the back. Sting whips Sid in for another Stinger Splash. Steve Austin comes out of the audience and gets on the apron. Austin pushes Sid out off the way as Sting dives in with the Stinger Splash and takes it himself. Sid takes advantage as Sting staggers out of the corner, gut kick and powerbomb for the 1-2-3. Hall, Nash and DDP attack Sid and Sting after the match. Lex Luger runs in to even the sides but then Windham returns and all four men beat down Sting, Sid and Luger. As the PPV time runs out. submitted by WCWpreHogan to WCW [link] [comments] |
2023.05.23 02:02 Ill-Ad5218 Marylanders excited for July, 1 2023 legalization date are going to be highly Dissappointed. Allowance capped at 750 mg DELTA 9 THC OR 12 grams Concentrate, <1.5 oz. Flower allowed will only be 9-13% THC. Check it Out 👇
People are being blinded by the Novelty of legalization, and this legislation isn't legalization. This is industrialization followed by the joke of an attenpt.to allow small entrepreneurs like.myself into the market.
If you want an opportunity, apply NOW for equity and equality lottery for liscences to operate as a cannabis business. There are standard liscneces allowed as well micro liscences. $5,000 for I liscence and $1,000 for a micro liscence, which will still allow total operation as a business but with less prodyct and other Stipulations. You also need to have a Business plan, financial plan, and the 3rd stipulation is escaping me, essentially you need to present a shark tank presentation and hope you get selected.
You also have to be eligible for the equity lottery. Some.of ThOSe requirements are for example, having attended a university where more than 40% of the student population used Pell grants, reliance.on EBT, energy assistance, OR other assistance, living in disproportionately effected areas and a few others. You must meet one of the requirements, I ha e put in my name and am preparing the business plan and financial stuff now.
This isn't going to work out how they want it to. Nit only all of this, but the sales tax will be 9%. And that is not capped. It can go up over time. Thisnis going to create a gray market of diverted medicinal cannabis and dabs that is much larger than current diverted medical in maryland. That and calinwill be happy as the street will be booming bc ppl number one know they can get weed just as good on the street In Maryland from Colorado or Cali or grown I'd u know someone more potent than the allowed 9- 13% and 750 mg thc.
And ppl don't like being manipulated, which is what cutting of medical cards for cannabis is doing. They know ppl will be unhappy about these stupilations and most ppl just repreat the rhetoric without looming at the legislation, many believe it means u can just purchase whereever u want, this isn't correct. Sales will still be illegal without liscense, and cannabis must be purchased in the dispensary.
I know black markets, and how they react to these situations, we saw it in California Last year with their first decrease in legal sales fornthe first time ever in 2022, boosting street sales by lowering the prices due to illicit weed not being shipped out to one of the soon to be 20 "legalized" states and it sits in California. Ppl known its just as good because industry didn't create this market. DEA tests from the University of Mississippi show an increase in potency in U.s. cannabis across the 2 decades since California supplying 75% of the US illicit market and 10% of the world's market illicitly. This validates, that industry indeed, while they throw around rhetoric like they're the OGs, when industry begs growers to help them, begs real entrepreneurs to work for $18 /hour to make a multi million dollar per month profit for these big industries. Check it out..... pretty sure that qualifies as "TRUSTWORTHY" MOD BHIMA 🤔

2023.04.23 17:11 Abject-Picture-677 Free Pre-Med Advising Program: Summer 2023 Cohort
Good morning everyone! As promised in my previous post, I will once again be offering a
free pre-med admission advising service for applicants for the 2023-2024 cycle. This is the summer cohort, and overall group number 3. Please continue reading for more information.
Background I am an admitted student from this past 2022-2023 cycle, and this Sunday I will be concluding my cycle when the Plan to Enroll deadline for AMCAS forces me to choose my institution for the next four years. My hope with this program is to establish it as a reliable free-service connecting aspiring physicians to mentors, and I hope this initiative continues during medical school and my career. I’m also hoping to take an official role as a student admission committee member wherever I end up.
I pride myself on transparency, and as such these are my statistics:
3.74cGPA, 3.69sGPA, 515 MCAT, ORM
I submitted secondaries to 77 schools and received 32 MD interview invites, including multiple T20/T30 schools. Currently I am holding 10 offers of admissions.
Reasons why I established this program - Too much free time after I left my job following my first admission offer
- Experience for my application to be an admission committee member
- Medicine shouldn’t be gatekept. Qualified students who would be excellent doctors are constantly rejected because of their failure to effectively present themselves on paper or approach the admission process optimally
- Educating others on the principles of effective mentorship. Our program will continue to evolve into a better service as time continues
Previous experience In September, I individually mentored an initial cohort of students, spanning from upcoming applicants to college sophomores. Services I offered included 1-on-1 Zoom sessions, unlimited access to my personal phone number and email, and individualized application guidance. I shared my AMCAS primary, secondaries, school list, update letters, and every other requested resource. The sessions are extremely casual as I allow students to guide their own session to effectively tailor their experience to their needs. Students simply contact me with a date and time to meet, and I try my best to accommodate these requests to my utmost capability. This service was expanded as I recruited volunteers into my initiative, and since December we have proudly assisted these students' applications.
Previous testimonials can be found on my previous post here:
https://www.reddit.com/premed/comments/zdp6rn/free\_premed\_advising\_pilot\_program/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3 Team Credibility: Our Data This project is not an individual effort; I currently have other admitted MD students and current MD students with experience mentoring our past Winter cohort. We also have one volunteer on the admission committee at a top tier school. Collectively this past cycle, our team of 6 received over 85 MD interviews and 25 DO interviews, culminating in 34 MD acceptances and 21 DO acceptances. These numbers may increase if we are pulled off waitlists in the coming weeks. Notably, we only have one volunteer that scored above 515.
Competitive schools we have interviewed at:
Harvard
Upenn
Columbia
Hopkins
Emory
Sinai
Mayo
Michigan
Case Western
Uchicago
Cornell
UCSD
UCLA
Maryland
Brown
Ohio State
Iowa
Colorado
Rochester
NYULI
Services offered 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 advising meeting
School list critique
Interview Practice (Potential MMI Circuit as well)
Essay Review (PS and
the most commonly repeated secondary essays)
Work and Activities Review
General Admission Advice
Conditions I only request from those that partake that I can publish their data online
anonymously after their cycle is completed, further allowing me to establish the credibility of this program. Each student will receive a unique ID that is only accessible by me. Their demographic, stats, school number, and cycle results will be posted.
Example:
Student 012 - White Non-Hispanic Male, 512, 3.7cGPA 3.8sGPA, 21 MD applied, 5 MD II, 3 MD A, 1 WL, 1 Post-II R
Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria Inclusion Criteria:
Applying 2023-2024 cycle
Valid MCAT score
Exclusion Criteria
Career changers and non-traditional students (defined as >3 years post-graduation)
<3.0cGPA/sGPA (
Applicants with completed SMP and post-bacc are exempt from this) <501 MCAT
>520 MCAT
Canadian and International Students
Applicants applying
exclusively to TMDSAS (co-applying AMCAS is allowed)
Criteria Rationale We do not have members on the team with experience applying as a non-traditional or career changer. For sub 3.0 without academic reinvention, we would only recommend taking additional coursework instead of applying. Sub 501 MCAT scorers would be recommended to retake. Scores above 520 statistically do not require our assistance and we would prefer to assist students with weaker academic profiles. We do not have a member who is an international student. We lack team members with experience applying to TMDSAS.
Plan We currently have 20 students grandfathering from group 1 and 10 students from group 2 this past Winter cohort. We plan to accept approximately 12-15 students from this summer cohort, however this number is subject to increase if we receive more volunteers (
see below for volunteering details). We understand that there are thousands applying, however we are prioritizing quality over quantity.
For Those Interested in Volunteering Please message me on reddit directly to inquire. We require that volunteers have a minimum of 5 interviews and 3 acceptances (MD and/or DO) to apply. If you fit this criteria, I will schedule a Zoom meeting with you to verify your identity and cycle results. Furthermore I’ll assess your knowledge base and will be present for all your mentee meetings until you become comfortable being independent. Afterwards, you will be connected with our team members and assigned a student.
Discretion Please note that ultimately our advice should be taken as
recommendations, and you may choose to ignore our directions. Furthermore, we are unable to guarantee 100% that you will receive an admission offer.
Application Process Student selection is fully randomized through a lottery system. Applicants will be assigned an ID number and a computer-system will receive the queries and output students randomly. This is to protect the integrity of data and to ensure every student has a chance for this opportunity.
To apply, please click on this Google Form and submit: https://forms.gle/y5oRtzoohRNY9KtC6 The due date to apply is
Sunday, April 30th, 2023,
12PM, and applicants will be notified later that day.
The deadline to respond to the email notification is 3 days. We will
not be sending rejection emails as we may contact applicants if students drop out of the program or we intake more volunteer staff.
Yes, I know we are hypocrites for ghosting applicants considering we despise medical schools for it, however it allows opportunities to contact other students further should someone drop from the program or we increase our volunteer numbers.
Concluding remarks If you have read this far, thank you for taking the time to consider our services. Once again, this is a
free opportunity, no strings attached financially. Remember that we are incoming medical students who are
not paid and we may need you to accommodate our schedules (medical school is intense as you all know!). This is a learning process for us as much as it is for the students. Provide us the opportunity to walk alongside you on your journey and we’ll reciprocate our utmost best.
Invest in us, and we’ll invest in you. submitted by

2023.04.13 02:17 Justin_Cracked_ I think I am working in an illegal environment and I want to do something about it.
I (17m) believe i am working in an illegal work place. To give some context I’ve been working here for around 7-8 months, I’m 17 and still in school (I have a half schedule so I’m only at school for around 3 hours), I work 5 days a week every week, I work 7+ hours everyday. I sell tobacco products, lottery, and get no breaks. As I said before I am 17 and I never signed a work permit for the state of Maryland but I did sign a W-2 so I can get paid for my working. Here recently I’ve noticed some hours have been missing from my checks and some money missing from the tip jars. Tonight was the last straw for me, me and my co worker both checked the tip jar around 5:30 and my boss came in at 6:30 said I’m gonna count tips and we didn’t mind but I was skeptical why he did it so early, we counted 17$ before he came in and that wasn’t including all the coins we got from customers giving us their spare change, after he finished counting there was only 12$ in the cup no coins at all. I don’t understand why he does this, last time he did this, he took the entire tip as me and my co worker forgot about them and the next day we didn’t get any. There is no extra money on our checks and no sort of “compensation” for the money, I get paid hourly every 2 weeks. I’ve tried finding another job but can’t seem to get one. What should I do? What’s the best move?
