2023.06.09 04:18 Even-Ad9782 When parents don’t approve of their LGBTQ child.
Hi. I’m a 39 year old gay man. I grew up in a small religious/farming town in Nebraska in the 80s/90s. I’m talking small, like 500 people.
When I was around 13 I realized I was gay. I was shocked and honestly kind of mortified. I tried to fight it for many years and “pray it away”. I became very religious, considered myself a “born again Christian” and even did gay conversion therapy… but just like most people that take conversion therapy end up finding out…a person doesn’t really “convert” their sexuality… as in, your sexual attractions to the same sex don’t really fade… you really just end up making up your mind that you’re going to be as attracted as you can be to the opposite sex and try and ignore your gay attractions. It’s more of a chosen state of mind.
Over the years I met a lot of people that had conversion therapy and they all eventually admitted that they still had attraction to the same sex and barely any to the opposite (in other words, it doesn’t REALLY work).
When I was around 20, I was shocked to find out that my only other sibling (my sister) was gay. Oof…my poor parents… from this small religious town… The first thing they did was move to another city. Probably important to note that we had a very normal/happy childhood in case that was in question.
Over the years they have done their best to accept my sister and I. I finally gave up on trying to be straight after I was severely depressed in my early 20s and started dating men. She has also had a few lesbian partners.
I think what is so hard for both her and I to process is that our parents don’t FULLY accept or condone our sexualities… and yet, there is nothing we can do to change.
TBH, I think it has emotionally and psychologically stunted both of us to a degree. We all love each other but I don’t think a child really ever fully recovers from this type of rejection from a parent. It’s kind of like a black kid being raised by racist parents that still “try really hard to accept him/her.” It still just feels like a jarring rejection on a certain level, and it still creates a deep wound. I think so many LGBTQ people have had this exact same experience.
That’s why (if I can be blunt) I have grown to resent anti-LGBTQ Christians… not so much bc they have their beliefs… but because regardless of how they translate the Bible, statistically so so so many of them will end up with an LGBTQ child and because they choose to never really explore another possible perspective on this topic, they end up directly harming their own children. I mean, didn’t most of us that are LGBTQ get raised by parents that weren’t prepared to have an LGBTQ kid? And didn’t all of us get wounded by that?
My whole family went to this big conference in the early 2000s called “Exodus - ex-gay ministries” and thousands of people were there… and the number one we heard over and over was “My wife and I just don’t get it… we raised our kids in a strict Christian home… how did we end up with a gay kid?”… Ugh.
And then they inevitably try and tell their kid that they are going to hell, try and stick them in conversion therapy and wound them even deeper… all because they weren’t willing to do the work to understand gay people before they had one of there own.
Sorry, guess this turned into a ramble rant. Just putting some thoughts out there I guess.

2023.06.09 04:16 Egg-Babie Hate it here,
I have to format this into sections bc if i just start typing out my grievances it’ll be incomprehensible.
1) I work at a Publix in a small, tourist centered town. ironically, the tourists are the nice ones. there’s also a large gated community nearby and they think they own the place. yelling at ME when THEY forget to put in their phone number. No i’m not going to redo the fucking order, you already got you me old hag discount what more do you want from me. Also if ONE MORE of the white women who does instacart comes through my line i’m gonna jump over the partition and smash their phone into a million pieces. 3/4 of these walking corpses try to skip through my dialogue like i’m some NPC. i’ve gotten so fed up with it that i tell customers “they don’t pay me enough to do X.” as a “joke.” they laugh bc “haha, work am i right?” but they have no idea how close i am to ripping their head off like hercules to medusa.
2) Management. We FINALLY have some new managers but a couple of them are fucking narc dweebs who love to say some condescending shit. I know at the end of the day they do care about the employees but they care about us the same way you care about what stone you’re gonna step on while crossing a river. it’s all to like further their own agenda. however i know they’re not gonna fire me bc they need me whether they wanna admit it or not. they scheduled me for a 9 hour shifts with a 30 min break and expect me NOT to be a wee bit tired, saying some shit like “do we think that’s the best idea? to lean?”
3) general. every time i walk into that building i get closer and closer to tongue kissing a shotgun. i walk in and the immediate sense of dread fills my body like a heatwave. i have considered throwing myself in front of cars in the parking lot while getting carts just so i could get workers comp, not like they would pay it i bet. the only saving grace are the people i work with, all of them (save for like 3) are amazing people. they also seem to hate it there but not as much as i do, i don’t know if i’m just too hard headed for publix or what but i just fucking hate my life every time i’m in that building.
In conclusion, i do not get paid enough to deal with any of this BS and i am THIS close to snapping. one more goddamn thing happens and i’m just walking out. i want to tell them so bad that i’m ONLY in it for the money but there’s no way in hell they’re gonna take that well, granted it’s not like i care about them. the associates are my friends not the managers (except for one team lead he’s kinda cool, he plays overwatch with me)

2023.06.09 04:14 Independent-Hawk-117 To fight for or to not fight for..?
Alright, I feel silly turning to Reddit but I’d love some outside perspective on my situation & need to get it all off my chest. My (ex) boyfriend (23) and I (f23) have been talking/dating for the past 8 months and it’s been a little struggle and just because of our schedules.. let me give you a little more insight.. I currently work 4 days a week 5-3 3 days during the week and 8-6 on Saturdays, my schedules been changing often bc I’m unhappy at work and been trying different positions and thinking about leaving.. but that’s a lil beside the point for now. He works over nights, 3:30-2:30 mon-Thursday, and on top of that, he’s trying to make it big in the band world and doing 4-7 gigs a month right now.. so as you can imagine, he’s pretty busy. In the past three months, I’ve had 3 schedule changes & we’ve gotten into little blips about worrying about time for us. But I thought we made it all made sense again after our travels a few weeks ago.. and today he decided we should end it. He’s scared that I’m going to resent him in the long run and all I want to do is love and support him.. he still has to come get some stuff and we’re still cool, but I don’t want to give up.. I feel like it should just be a dream and I can’t lose the guy that became my best friend like this .. so do I keep fighting for it.? Do I leave him be and move on ? He wants to be friends but I know it’ll be so hard.. This isn’t my first serious relationship but it is his.. but regardless, I feel safe and home with him and don’t want to lose it. Any advice or kind words would be nice, thank you

2023.06.09 04:12 Anotherfootet My wife [35f] purposefully annoyed me [40m] and is now extremely angry at me, and I don't understand why and what to do
We overall have a reasonably happy marriage (5 years and a child), but sometimes, like today, thing spiral out of control and I don't understand why, and what to do about it.
I will explain the situation right now as a prime example. I am currently on vacation, just 2 weeks at home for myself. I am suffering through burnout at work (already taking steps) and just want some downtime. Unfortunately, I also got a head cold. Throat ache, feeling unenergetic, just not the best, but okay overall.
I was alone at home, tending to my record collection and surfing the Internet. While she was driving home from work, she called me, as she tends to do. (When she does, she never asks me if now is a good time to talk or if I'm in the middle of something, she just calls.) Well, today with being sick and everything, I did not sound exactly happy, and was eager to get back to my mindless tasks. I was polite and everything, just not eager to talk given the slight sickness, and wanted to get back to what I was doing. So I ended the phone call. She commented how I really don't want to talk today, which is true, but not because of her.
She called me again to say she wants to order Chinese food, and if I want some, because often I don't. I said she should order Chinese for herself, I'll figure out what to order for myself. She then suggested a dish that she thinks I might like, and I said sure. Then she said oh maybe she'll order Kale instead, and some other food I don't like. We both know I hate Kale, and it's always her thing to playfully annoy me with that. However, it's always the same joke ("hahah you don't like Kale, let's have you eat Kale"), and while I normally play along, I just wasn't in the mood for it.
I felt she said these things to me just to purposefully annoy me, and asks here why she said that. She acknowledged that it was to annoy me, playfully. She literally said "if you cannot annoy your husband, why get married".
I did not want any fight or anything, I did not want to get annoyed, playfully or not, I just wanted some time to tend to my slight illness, decompress from my works woes, and just to be left alone.
When she came home, she clearly indicated that she was angry at me. I asked her why she was angry, no response. I asked her what I did, no response. Then, as things usually do, they escalated. She said I was being mean to her on the phone. That she was all sunshiny and happy, and I'm bringing her mood down.
I pushed back, saying I did not do anything. All I wanted to was being left alone, that this is unfair. She got more and more angry, the whole thing culminating in her screaming to be left alone, but when I did she took care of the dishes "aggressively". I pushed back and said this is not okay, I didn't do anything. She started slamming doors, generally losing her shit, accusing me of "annoying her all the time". I said if I did I apologize, she should tell me to stop, and I apologize.
But I knew it was all in vain, because I knew she was in rage, and nothing I could say would do or change anything.
She eventually went playing with our son and slammed the door again. I went to my room and she came in once or twice, arguing. I said I don't understand, I asked her repeatedly what I did wrong (getting mostly the answer that I was not considerate to her, that I didn't listen to her on the phone, stuff like that). I tried to explain that I'm sick, I'm burned out, and I just wanted to be left alone, and that this has nothing to do with her.
All during it, she brought up various other things that I supposedly did, which were all varying themes about being inconsiderate about her feeling.
I finally lost it and broke down a bit. I said I don't understand, I don't understand what I did, I don't understand how I could have acted differently here. I repeated "I did not do anything, I did not do anything, I did not do anything". My voice had desperation, she accused me of yelling to her for it (whereas she was positively screaming just minutes before).
I asked her many times what I did wrong, and she just said I'm inconsiderate. She also said a bunch of other stuff that frankly made no sense to me. Finally I said I just want to be left alone, and she said "okay" and stormed out the apartment, leaving me with our son (which is okay by me).
I'm exhausted. I don't want to leave her because for the most time it's fine, and most of all because I don't want to tear this family apart for my son. But I don't understand. I feel like I can only lose here. I feel like the only thing I did was daring to not be super pleasant while not feeling super well. What should I do to fix this?

Where is the best restaurant to take business guests. Ideally fine dining or upscale, and not too loud. Would prefer somewhere local rather than a chain like Ruth’s Chris, and would love to know if anywhere has a private room. Thanks in advance.

2023.06.09 04:02 throwaway4891kid Interpreting signs?
I feel very connected and aware lately. I am single and want to find a loving partner. I am on a dating app and live in a very large/major city in the US, millions of people.
I rarely find someone on a dating app that catches my eye bc I gravitate towards people who have an awareness about them. My dating life has been abysmal since becoming more “in tune”, but I am also stronger and more confident as far knowing what I want and knowing what is not right for me.
When I woke up yesterday, I asked the universe to give me a sign in my love life. Well, I saw a profile for “Jim” and I really liked what he wrote; I had a good feeling despite him not being my “type” physically. Also, one of his pics with a friend of his is a guy I see at my hobby group weekly. So I swiped right. Moments later I got notified he “super liked” my profile. I sent him a message and went off to the gym that is 5 minutes from my home. On my way home, I notice a man on a bike..and it’s Jim (I rarely pay attention to bikers but he really stood out for some reason, almost like a spotlight kinda thing). We don’t even live in the same part of our metro area, and it was just very random.
I don’t mention any of this to Jim, that I know his best friend or that I saw him on my way home. I just wanted to get to know him.
But of course, I start thinking this is manifestation in the works.
Only today our convo has fell very flat. His initial messages made it seem like he wqs interested but he has not asked me anything on his own, only asking my questions for him back at me. It seems he is not making any effort and I don’t want to force it.
I’m confused about these “signs.” I felt like I got close here but I know I cannot assume that seeing a guy I matched with and had a good feeling about would mean anything..but idk, it was momentarily exciting.
Am I getting closer to finding my partner? Or was this a completely random fluke?

2023.06.09 03:52 k_furnish Forward facing nostrils using 16g internally threaded 316L surgical steel labrets now crooked.
| I got two forward facing nostril piercings done back in march. Initially, I was happy with the placement and it was healing ok cleaning it with sterile saline once per day and antibacterial soap once per day (not my usual care but I was afraid for a face piercing to get infected). First photo is immediately after. Second photo is in mid April when I bumped/caught it on something three times in a week. Last photo is now. I was hoping after it healed from the trauma my right one would straighten back up, but it clearly hasn’t. My question is if my best/only option is to remove the one that’s lower and wait and get it redone? Is the other still placed ok? I will ask for flat jewelry in the future bc I do think the ball style made it difficult to protect. submitted by k_furnish to Legitpiercing [link] [comments] |
2023.06.09 03:48 im_trippin_balls_rn i messed up my bc patch routine and i’m not sure whether i should be worried or if i’m just over thinking
im horrible at writing so please bear with me. now, i have a huge fear of getting pregnant, the thought of it literally makes me sick. i also tend to overthink A LOT. i prob have wayy too many details in here but i figured more is better than not having enough.
i started the patch on the first day of my period (thur april 27) my first patch falls off on (sun 30) i replaced it and accidentally counted it as week 2. what i think is “w3” is act w2. my period ends on (wed 3) and i had unprotected sex the next night (thur 4) he pulled out. (had some light bleeding but he was practically my first so) wanting to be on the safe side and probably overthinking..i took a plan b prob around lunch time (may 5) and went on to changing my patch on sun (may 7) now thinking i’m on my 3rd patch wk. i start my no patch week the following sun (may 14) and start my period wed (may 17) the week goes on and the 21st rolls around and here is where i realize i messed up. i make note of it, put on a new patch, it ended up peeling off quite a bit a couple of hours later, so i replaced it and went through the rest of the week. replaced with my 3rd patch (sun 28) (now i’m on track) took an ovulation test don’t know why just did, and it was neg. had unprotected sex twice later that night and he came inside both times. out of the usual anxiety and overthinking, i decided to take a plan b the following morning (may 29) i wasn’t able to take a preg test 21 days after (may 4) but i took one june 2 and 4th, both negative. i also replace my bc patch on sun and yet again, i ended up having to replace it. i got my patches through planned parenthood and i called to ask a couple questions and i wasn’t able to get the answers i needed. but i look at their website and it said to skip my patch free week. so next week (june 11) i’m putting on another patch. i took another preg test this morning (june 8) as a follow up for the last 2 negatives i received, still negative and then i was going to take another on the 18th to account for may 28th. l have been sick but nothing too serious (runny nose, coughing, but if congestion) air quality has been v bad recently, and my sibling is also sick atm typing all this makes me feel silly for worrying this much, but i’m honestly terrified. i was looking at a few things and now my feed is showing related to cryptic pregnancies so that doesn’t help my anxiety at all. 🤩 pls help, am i just letting fear get the best of me?

2023.06.09 03:47 lilbanjee Was this a panic attack?
today at work i had been overheating my whole shift, i work in a restaurant so it gets super hot in the back. in the last 15 mins of my shift, they asked me to clean the grill. i agreed. to clean our grill we use an oil based chemical which as a result causes a lot of steam as it’s burning down on the hot grill. i tried my best to do it, maybe for 7 minutes. however, i had an overwhelming feeling of doom (for lack of a better word) and started to tremble and feel light headed. when i went to tell my supervisor, instantly my eyes started watering. i went quickly to the bathroom to change and instantly started balling my eyes out. i have absolutely no clue why. even on the ride home, i could not stop crying. it’s been 50 minutes now and i’m still shaking. do you think this was a panic attack or just a general reaction to overheating?

2023.06.09 03:41 bbysitva Need advice on the SAP Appeal
So I’m an undergraduate and switched my compsci major to information systems in the midst of spring semester. My first two semesters were shitty and now I got the alert to put in my SAP Appeal before the deadline bc my gpa flunked bc of two classes I failed from the spring semester making my GPA cumulative to a 1.2
To provide with some context, I started my first year of college in August, coming from a highly dysfunctional household. As a first-generation daughter and the primary breadwinner for my family, I found myself burdened with numerous responsibilities that impeded my academic growth. The weight of these obligations became particularly overwhelming in February, when I became the sole provider for my mother, requiring urgent assistance back home.
The constant back-and-forth between home and college to address financial aid concerns added additional stress and contributed to a feeling of being burnt out. Unfortunately, the cumulative effect of these circumstances led me to lose focus on the academic goals I had initially set out to achieve.
I’m honestly trying my best not to just panic and not give up because ik there’s hope I’ve actually worked so hard to pass the other two of my important classes (English and mainly Math) mostly to get my GEP credits needed. Any advice is helpful (even if I don’t get approved) during this time.

2023.06.09 03:40 Adventurous-Ear9433 Why Mercury, mica, pyrite were found at Teotihuacan, 'local traditions of 'magician-Priest',Genetic Evidence for Founding Populations of Americas
Teotihuacan was built on a geodetic grid system (a power center) in perfect sacred geometrical alignment with the cosmos to harness the energy of earth and sky. To understand it, we must go back to the original truth of the purpose. advanced design of Teotihuacan suggests that ancient builders had knowledge, not only of architecture, but of complex mathematical and astronomical sciences. The term 'Teohuacan' was found inscribed halfway across the globe on monuments in China, the term means 'place of the sun'(*our translation is 'Place to tie up the sun)Mercury, Hermes was the great Messenger, which also speaks for the planets quick trips around the sun. An aerial view shocked many researchers, but following the traditions we know what every pyramid was used for.
Circuit Board-Teohuatican with two large processor chips— the Sun Pyramid and the Moon Pyramid. . One of the most interesting things about Teotihuacan is the finding by archaeologists of the extensive use of mica embedded in numerous structures. This mineral is found 3,000 miles away in Brazil and it is found in all buildings, housing complexes, temples and along the roads so basically this mineral is all over Teotihuacan.
The pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan contained considerable amounts of mica in layers up to 30 cm. Human use of mica dates back to prehistoric times. Mica was known to ancient Indian, Egyptian, Greek and Roman andChinese civilizations, as well as the Aztec civilization of the New World. The earliest use of mica has been found in cave paintings created during the Upper Paleolithic period (40,000 BC to 10,000 BC). The ancient civilizations & their inexplicable similarities are only shocking when one has disregarded our ancestors traditions as 'mythical ', which is a mistake made by academics only recently.
Mica is stable when exposed to electricity, light, moisture, and extreme temperatures. It has superior electrical properties as an insulator and as a dielectric, and can support an electrostatic field while dissipating minimal energy in the form of heat; it can be split very thin (0.025 to 0.125 millimeters or thinner) while maintaining its electrical properties, has a high dielectric breakdown, is thermally stable to 500 °C, and is resistant to corona discharge. Muscovite, the principal mica used by the electrical industry, is used in capacitors that are ideal for high frequency and radio frequency. Phlogopite mica remains stable at higher temperatures (to 900 °C) and is used in applications in which a combination of high-heat stability and electrical properties is required. Muscovite and phlogopite are used in sheet and ground forms.
The Maya Codex Vaticanus records faithfully the very ancient oral traditions of Central America. In one curious passage it states that “in the First Age, giants existed in that country(Mexico). "These 7 who escaped from a deluge , arrive in Cholula and there began to build a tower… in order that should a deluge come again he might escape to it.” Nahuatl language it’s named Tlachihualtepetl (‘artificial mountain’). Originally it was named Acholollan (‘water that falls in the place of flight’).
-Olmec(Xi)-had two different religious associations (gya-fa):the jaguar-man or humano-feline cult and the humano-bird cult. The humano-feline cult was called the nama-tigi by the Olmecs, while the humano-feline cult was called the kuno-tigi..
Xoc Bas Birdman The Teotihuacan(
Tlalocan )mural depicts a range of mountains covered in rolling clouds and mists, below a brilliant red sky dominated by the huge figure of Tláloc, the Maya/Aztec god of celestial waters. Falling from Tláloc's open hands are flaming droplets of celestial water, likely representing the high-resonance isotope of protium, that overtly reference the ignition of celestial water vapor to form HHO plasma. The differentiation of celestial waters from terrestrial waters through the infrasonic evaporation of water vapor corresponds to special modern water purification processes involving the separation of resonant lightwater (protium) from dissonant heavy waters
deuterium & tritium The plumed headdress of Tláloc is comprised of radiating feathers of green and red hues, representing the colors of auroral plasma. Three arching red plumes stand out from the other green plumes of the headdress, extending from either side of the central figure and from the foreheads (pineal glands) of the two smaller figures in profile, representing the three frequencies of sound that generate nonlinear standing waves. Rising above the giant central figure of Tláloc is a majestic twisting Tree of Life image, composed of intertwining plumes of yellow/green and pink/red aerial HHO plasma that appear identical to modern photographs of the plasma discharges of red sprites.
Tláloc, God of Celestial Water, god of the vapor that rises, from the earth warmed by the sun after the rains, god of the mist that ascends from the valleys at dawn, god of the water that returns to its source in the clouds that swim over the highest peaks, god of the humid incense from which rise the copal prayers and the prayers of sacrifice Tláloc is the return of vapor that strains to rise, is the return of time that strains to remember. Tláloc, God of the Fight Against the Current, with whose aid the hero battles against the torrent toward his own origin and beginning, towards the wings of his soul, the wings that Tláloc hides in the hero's past The cycle of years is past - the waiting ended. Come - reunite, pilgrims, for the sky is in flames! From Xochicalco to Teotíhuacan the red spreads one step, another step, and another, only twelve short steps from the cave of the womb to the final conflagration The red skies depicted in the Teotihuacan mural are also directly referenced in the Pyramid of Fire Codex, when it states that "the sky will be in flames" that will spread from one pyamid to another, as the worldwide netwrok of pyramids and sacred sites become activated to bath the area in the brilliant infrared and ultraviolet-A light of aerial HHO plasma plumes.ancient, unknown science designed to create energy directed up is excavating the tunnel.
-The geoposition of Teotihuacan pyramid complex (19.68°N 98.83°W), reveals a nonlinear (or Fibonacci-based) resonant alignment with respect to the Great Pyramid of Giza, being 7,684 miles away or 30.9% of the Earth's mean circumference (of 24,892 miles)..which is also observed in the Paracas petroglyphs.
The Sanskrit descendant cultures of Asia express the same essential interpretation given by the Maya culture of Central America; identifying the planet Mercury as ‘the fast runner’ that takes ‘quick flight’ around the sun, having a short orbital period of approximately 88 days. Among Nahuatl cultures, the art of running was crucial to the functioning of society, enabling the rapid conveyance of messages over long distance.
Mercury is the link (messenger) between the gods (higher principles) and humankind. In the ancient art of alchemy, such as in Hermeticism, Mercury, sulfur, and salt were the Earth's three principle substances that represent the trinity in creation. As sulphur is the symbol for the active principle, mercury is the symbol of the passive principle. The symbol of Mercury is the cosmic womb being incubated by the cross of the four elements of creation - earth, air, fire and water. Mercury is the messenger in Astrology as it is in mythology. It is the planet of day-to-day expression and communication. Mercury's action is to take things apart and put them back together again. It is an opportunistic planet, decidedly unemotional and curious. Mercury not only rules communication, it represents coordination. Thought processes, ideas, and sensory information from both unconscious and unconscious sources all need to be coordinated and understood.
Ive said before that the mercury was used to accomplish communication wth the Gods, The fluid metal element mercury was extolled as generating the luminosity of the blood of gods, for its threefold biophotonic extension of human longevity, whereby adepts of the alchemical arts were able to attain long lifespans. Mercury was closely associated with its extreme volatility, which must be carefully controlled to achieve positive results. Mercury was considered an ethereal element for its low boiling point of 357°C. When heated above this temperature, quicksilver will rapidly vaporize as toxic fumes inspiring an association with quick flight: ‘mercury has wings’.
A number of the Mesoamerican pyramids there are key components designed into their construction that act as magnifiers. These components appear to be important in the creation, magnification, and distribution of telluric fields.

• Geo-magnetic fields. Naturally formed telluric fields that have high and low period throughout day and night.
• Pyramid design. The specific pyramid shape appears to greatly enhance the telluric fields that pulse up and into the center of the chamber.
• Pyramid interior fill. At a number of pyramids, rocks that are good electromagnetic conductors fill the interior of the pyramids and are used to enhance the pulsing field. Rocks that have veins with quartz, granite, and other electrical conducting properties appear to be favored.
Characterization of lime carbonates in plasters from Teotihuacan, Mexico: preliminary results of cathodoluminescence and carbon isotope analyses Dr Burke &Dr Brooker research determined that each location had been chosen because of its naturally occurring telluric energy field that pulsed up and into the structure or surrounding area. Also Burke and his research partner Kaj Halberg discovered electro-magnetic signatures that measured impressive charges on top of the pyramid. In a series of scans, the readings showed an average change of 908 volts over a short period of time, which was concentrated in the early morning hours. As ive stated in the past, this is the ideal time for sungazing. The pineal, contains magnetite & creates its own magnetic field. This was once a universal practice at Sacred sites, in 2009 until Nov 2012 The grand maya council held 52 full moon ritual of the new cycle where we visited sacred sites around the world and brought back these rituals. Burke mentions the readings and states, “These voltages might sound lethal and if it were a household current they could be. However, static electric charge in the air is a different type of electricity and even a thousand volts is not dangerous.” His discovery of pyramid field generation is fascinating, but what he actually uncovered was a means of generating and perhaps distributing electromagnetic energy within a pyramid complex. Which aligns with the term used for the ancient Egyptians, the Great PrNtr-house of Nature, or house of energy).

Again, we see Toward the end of the Fourth Sun, wars between the gods were taking place. [The Battle of the Titans?] The gods' war brought havoc to the land; wild animals overran mankind, and Tollan was abandoned. The fourth Sun had begun 5,042 years before the time of the Codex Vaticano-Latino 3738 (1533). The time the Fourth Sun ended is not stated, but the Codex was written during the Fifth Sun. The Fourth Sun may have perished by means of the Jaguar. The Fifth Sun is referred to as the Age of Kings by the Incas.

2023.06.09 03:37 tuktuk_padthai Some of you might remember my post wondering when am I gonna get a lucky break like the ones that says ‘after 300-400 job applications, I got a kickass job with excellent benefits’
Well guys, as luck would have it, apparently 2 weeks later was my turn to announce that I finally got a kickass job with excellent base pay and benefits!!! I was down in the dumps because I was getting rejected even by small businesses that offer shit wage. My confidence was low and I was ready to start applying to restaurant jobs as a server since I made about $25-40/hr back in my younger years. But I have a toddler and didn’t want to be away late at night.
I started watching YouTube interview videos and I gotta say, as soon as I realized that my interviews were lukewarm at best, I started jotting down how I could describe my role/experiences eloquently. It made a difference in getting that second interview. It was easy to do it over zoom/teams since I can have a cheat sheet but it was a little different in person. I’m so used to just describing my experience (point blank) but i did not promote myself enough as to why I would be a great fit for the role or why my skillsets will be a great addition to the team.
Even the question ‘tell me about yourself’, I made sure to tell them ‘this and that and it’s a match for this job. I’m blah blah blah, you can be rest assured that xyz will be completed in a timely manner. I’m xyz and I will make sure to go above and beyond to accomplish company goals.’ If you can promote why you’ll be a great fit in most/if not all the questions, do it. I also used chatgpt to anticipate questions and see which skillsets this role values most.
That’s it y’all. I hope that at least 1 person benefits from this. I know that what I wrote sounds like it should be a given in interviews but it didn’t really click in my head until I saw those videos.

2023.06.09 03:36 Adventurous-Ear9433 Why Mica, Mercury,Pyrite were used at Teohuatican, Genetic Evidence for 2 founding Populations of the Americas, 'Magicians'

Usually, waste tires fill the landfills across the country that will create environmental hazards. Waste tires take a huge selection of years to decompose fully. It affects the ecosystem and fosters numerous problems for life on earth. For this reason tire pyrolysis is recognized as one of the best types of earning a handsome profit while preserving environmental surroundings as well. Investing in a tire pyrolysis plant is no small decision. Tire pyrolysis plants are costly, and factors to consider to complete the homework before purchasing a quality plant with a reasonable price. There are lots of considerations when purchasing a tire pyrolysis plant. Deciding on a reliable manufacturer or supplier is the most important thing. Actually, you will find a host of equipment manufacturing companies across the world. But a Chinese manufacturer will always provide a quality plant at a reasonable cost. China is the most popular destination when it comes to investing in tire pyrolysis plants at affordable costs. The best thing about using the services of Chinese manufacturers is that you may contact them online without having to check out the country. The most recent technology makes it much simpler to locate pyrolysis plants on the web and negotiate the sale. The present Chinese manufacturers have professional websites and employ fluent English-speaking staff to handle foreign buyers. Upon having researched an effective manufacturer in China or other part of the world, the next step is to discover the quality of the pyrolysis reactor - which is the main part of the plant. The quality of the reactor is directly connected to the service lifetime of the full plant. The content, welding, and the thickness in the reactor are essential considerations when deciding the grade of the pyrolysis reactor. Reliable manufacturers make use of a 16mm Q245R boilerplate to create the pyrolysis reactor. This boilerplate will ensure the reactor could withstand the specified high-temperature heating. Also, the pyrolysis reactor must be welded using auto-welding technology with three-step welding to assure the grade of the plant. It prevents cracks in the plant during long-time operations. These are the most critical aspects to consider when you are interested in the ideal tyre pyrolysis plant available for sale available on the market. submitted by sarecycling to u/sarecycling [link] [comments] |
2023.06.09 03:27 thebouguoisie I'm a 17 y/o girl who needs relationship advice. please
(All names used are fake)
There is a guy (17/M) who is interested in me (17/F). I'll call him ken. I'm a senior and he is a junior. We're from a small town where everyone knows everyone but since Ken is a grade below me so we never had a chance to interact before until recently. We have mutual friends and I've been around him before but we've never truly talked until 2 weeks ago at a party.
I thought we were getting along well and bonded quite nicely but in a platonic way. At the time, I didn't have any romantic thoughts about him. I just thought we had good chemistry and could get along well as friends. The next day, my best friends, who I'll call Carrie and Morgan, told me that Ken had looked really interested in me that whole night. I literally had not picked up on it at all. I didn't even think or want him to be interested in me because he had a girlfriend at the time.
Backstory on Ken's relationship, they were online dating so they had never actually met in person. Ken said he didn't like his girlfriend that much or and didn't know if he wanted to be with her or not. He talked like he didn't care for her and he talked about breaking up with her. Later on I found out she was being quite controlling and emotionally manipulating towards him but she was his girlfriend nonetheless so I stayed away.
For the next 2 weeks, I noticed how Ken was around me and I could tell, he had a crush on me. It was quite blatant. He texted me more, was awkward around me, and tried to be close to me at every point we were around each other. I was iffy about him. I liked the attention he was giving me because no guy had ever really been interested in me but he had a girlfriend. Even if he didn't like her, he was still dating her. Everyone around us thought we would look cute together. (They were pushing it because Ken said he was planning on breaking up with his girlfriend) I was still on the edge about it. Yeah, he's really sweet, respectful and we get along well, but I wasn't sure about him. I couldn't tell if I liked him or not. But as the 2 weeks went by I started to develop some feelings for him. Or what I think are feelings (I haven't had a genuine crush in so long nor have I ever been in a relationship so I'm not too sure what I felt or what I am feeling). I still kept my distance out of respect for his girlfriend.
That all brings us to yesterday. My friend group and I were going to the movie theater. We all went to a restaurant before and while we were eating, Ken started talking about how he broke up with his girlfriend. I felt sort of happy like "oh shit" but at the same time, if they had just broken up, I was not going to make a move immediately after. I looked across the table at Carrie and Morgan and they gave me a "now's your chance" kind of look. (I want to clarify that Carrie and Morgan were only wanting Ken and I to be a thing because Ken talked about breaking up with his gf. They wanted us to get together after ken's breakup. They did not and would never support cheating.)
Fast forward to the movie. Ken and I sat next to each other. During the movie, I was resting my hand near the cup holder and Ken grabbed my hand and held it. I cannot lie, I got extreme butterflies and could not stop smiling. I kept thinking "holy shit. holy shit. holy shit." We held hands the whole movie and that was it. I could not stop thinking about him after. Sort of like a switch and I started to think "oh shit, what am I feeling?". He texted me that night and told me he wanted to kiss me but chickened out. I told him I wanted to take things slow and he said he would. But he also said that if he was moving too slow to tell him.
Maybe I'm reading into this too much but to me it sounds like he doesn't want to take things slow and maybe just wants me for my body. I could be over thinking. I have severe trust issues and I am touch-starved so I don't know if I like him or not. I'm a hopeless romantic too so the thought of falling in love is something I want so badly but at the same time, I'm scared of relationships and change. I like being single. I don't know if I like him or the thought of him. I don't if I genuinely like him or my fear of a relationship is keeping me from pursuing this. I keep going back and forth of whether I like him and want to pursue this or not. I'm also going away for University in the Fall while he'll still be in our hometown. He doesn't have a car either so it'd be long distance and from how he treated his long distance girlfriend, I don't know if he'd stay loyal. I kind of want to enter University single because I will be meeting so many new people outside of my small town. I kind of want to keep my cards open. I don't know what to do. I don't want to waste a chance but at the same time, it doesn't feel like the best relationship. Maybe I'm too picky but I kind of wanted my first relationship to be with a woman. Someone my age who lived close to me. But I don't want to waste a chance. I just don't know what to do.
If you have any thoughts or advice, please share. I need help.
P.s. Thanks for reading my long shit post :)

2023.06.09 03:25 Throwaway_09298 XREAL AIR SCREEN RECORDING SAMPLE 1 (MacOS M2 MBP)
Video:
https://youtu.be/__fr5SACJYY Images:
https://imgur.com/a/Vot24Nn - Image 1: MacOS Display Settings
- Image 2: Mission Control view of the nebula app on the ultrawide monitor (the desktop is split halfway between two eyes)
- Image 3: What the nebula shows me (to my two eyes)
- Image 4: what nebula grabs from the 3 screens
This is a screen recording of the xreal/nreal air on a MacOS m2 MacBook Pro using nebula. Sorry for no audio. I used QuickTime. Also ignore my code. 85% of it isn't mine and it's not complete at all.
How it works (I think): The nebula app creates 2 virtual monitors and extends them left and right of your mac main display. The nebula app then screen records those 3 screens and projects them on a 3rd virtual ultra wide-screen monitor. This is a video of what nebula shows inside its field of view.
I am a software developer that works from home. I recently downsized with my wife to an apartment. Because of that I needed to retire my multiple monitor desk setup. I have a detachable DuexPlus but it's bulky and adds a lot of extra weight in by bag. Plus I look like THAT GUY at Starbucks or a boba shop. These glases get rid of that awkwardness. My wife now says I look like Ray Charles and that's 100% a compliment by any means.
Use around others: I have the 3 monitor setup going with the glasses and what I did was on the center screen I put up a black square so I can see thru it and just use the left and right monitors for work, that way we can watch TV together (American born Chinese on Disney plus). I'm able to stay fully engaged with her and the show and work. If I was doing this with the nebula floating web browser I could still have the same setup. What is great about this is that I don't look like that dad in the apple commercial recording his kids with a vr headset out of the moment. Also if I'm in public I can have a dedicated empty space to interact with someone right in front of me.
What I like: almost everything. FoV, angles, weight of frames, space for glasses (I'm getting the prescription frames filled out soon), tracking, etc.
What I don't like:
- speakers are trash but very very very usable. They get loud but very cheap. (coming from a macbook user of course)
- IT IS VERY EASY TO MESS UP THE DISPLAYS. DON'T TOUCH THE DISPLAYS. If you mess them up, reset the pram/smc and reinstall the nebula app. the 3rd virtual display is in the upperight of the right side extended monitor (or lower left corner of the ultrawide). There's only a very small gap to mouse over. I wanted to see if I could change the extended monitors to be ultra wide but messed up stuff.
- Impossible to use Mission Control view since you're only looking at a single full screen app on a 3rd virtual monitor. Just the cost of the methods of projection. Not a deal breaker.
----------------------- ETC ------------------
Samsung Dex on galaxy fold 4. It works. that's all there is to say about that. it's 0DofM but with the adapter it's 3DofM (confirmed on reddit by xreal).
Nebula app on Android: it's great. the UI for YouTube is amazing, the UI for the movie app is amazing (love the wheel chooser). Everything is so immersive. I like the spring board browser. I would probably never use this app bc I can't pull the apps on my phone into it (at least I can't find out how) and I don't want to sign in to all the sites. But the head tracking is dope and the ability to put floating windows anywhere is dope. If it had 6DofM I'd hide windows all over my home ready to go for whatever. I still need to try the 3rd party record app and the live streaming app. But seriously the YouTube app is amazing. I could definitely use something like that for ESPN. The bones are definitely there for what disney made for apple. THAT SAID...I don't like using my phone as a stick. It's very finicky. The controls aren't bad just the laser. That said thank you for thinking of left handed users.
PLEASE ADD A WAY TO DISABLE THE RECORDING/CAPTURE SOUND INSIDE THE NEBULA APP.

2023.06.09 03:25 sk8rboi36 Does Peter B. feel like Peter Parker?
So, I think this is a bit from coming off of the new movie where Peter B. was sidelined and relegated to a bit of the stay-at-home-dad joke that has become kinda popular lately in things like the Mandalorian and the Incredibles 2.
I was telling my friend after we saw the movie that I was kind of disappointed that Peter didn’t have much to do and that he, along with all the other Peters, seemed kind of background to miles especially in how none of them saw the flaws in Miguel’s thinking before miles. My personal gold standard for Spider-Man outside of the comics would be the 90s animated version, because he was the right combination of sarcasm, decisiveness, isolation, and confidence as Spider-Man. I guess what I like the most about that version is that he felt more in command and competent, probably resulting from how he was mostly on his own and even in the crossovers he took on more of a leader role.
Really what bothers me is how bad Peter has been treated in the comics lately and as fun as spider verse was it kind of sucked to see him be made more of a joke of. I know this is Miles’s story, and I am sure we will see more from Peter B. next movie, and obviously the game is coming out later as well, but to me it feels like there hasn’t been a great depiction of Peter in a while. The PS4 version is probably the closest, but what excited me and I assume a lot of other people about the first spiderverse was we got to see an older and weathered version of Peter but that hasn’t really been explored too much whereas the younger PS4 version has been so well trod.
I personally didn’t care for the MCU version as much but it really stems from how they still kept Peter young and removed a lot of the agency he had when interacting with other heroes as seen in other versions. I mean compare the comic civil war Peter to the MCU, I know a lot had to be/was changed but Peter was kind of an emotional center to that story with his role in both sides and how he worked through it. His unmasking and his switching sides on their own were both major wins for the respective sides as a testament to the influence he has even while being kind of a loner and an every day guy. That’s why the first movie did him so much better since you saw the toll it took and I’m all about him being happy in the end, just not as the expense of a joke.
It feels like a lot of people think Peter is this starry eyed goofball when in reality the versions I always knew took being a superhero deathly seriously and the comedy and sarcasm was more of a way to cope with all the pressure he was always under, and a bit of the release that being Spider-Man gave him. But he honestly always had as much to complain about as he did to joke about and I think that balance has really been lost over the years. I think Spider-Man is the one hero who it really feels like it’s a marathon, not a sprint, and all the little things add up.
We’ve gotten a lot of the big, sad, dramatic moments like Aunt Tomei dying but nothing really like Peter using a web umbrella in the rain eating Chinese food on a rooftop and celebrating even the smallest bit of good luck (ASM #578, read it to really get what I mean). I know that’s where the MCU version left off so great if it turns out that way but I’m honestly disinterested because in that regard they wasted 6 movie appearances and now he can’t interact with iron man or captain America in that fashion which was my draw to seeing him in the MCU in the first place. It’s hard to get excited when the MCU seemed like a place to showcase the complete marvel universe to the general public and now it’ll only be half complete if he gets to interact with the X-men and FF (and hopefully they’re done right). I always wanted to see the ultimate alliance or again 90s animated kind of Spider-Man on the big screen and that’s just not what we got.
Maybe the best way to describe it is Peter ought to feel like a guy who came from humble beginnings and appreciates the littlest things because he knows the struggles of Joe Schmoe lower middle class civilian life in a city like New York, and those experiences shape his character even when he has someone like MJ to share the burden with. He has some weariness to him and a sort of low key cynical distrust of new people that doesn’t come across genuinely when he’s this overexcited, kind of immature mouthpiece for the audience. In the comics he might say immature stuff to keep the levity but that doesn’t MAKE him immature and like I said there’s always a bit of subtext that he’s deflecting or closing himself off to a degree.
Maybe what I would like to see from the next movie would be something like the edge of time game, where even if the primary conflict is between Miles and Miguel, Peter steps up a bit and helps change Miguel‘s mind. I guess that seems to be where they’re already headed since Peter and Miguel were the only ones there when Miguel’s universe was destroyed. I just can’t help but compare this Peter to other versions, like the comic spiderverse event, or the original iteration from the cartoon, and it kind of sucks that most people who only watch the movies don’t really get to see that side to it.

2023.06.09 03:25 M0thebro Would these research topics be feasible/enough?
I’m a rising senior taking research and after seminar, I realized I only like doing the work if it’s something that I’m interested in (the topics I chose for seminar were semi interesting but not enough for me to actually enjoy). I’ve brainstormed a list of dentistry-related topics (bc I wanna be a dentist) and was wondering if they are applicable for AP research.
1) dental phobias impact on quality of life 2) Dental anxiety and oral health 3) Poverty on public oral health 4) Opioids prescribed after dental treatments cause of addiction/abuse 5) Effect of social media/fame/others opinions on non-restorative dental work
Which one is best?!

2023.06.09 03:14 GetRealPrimrose Unpopular opinion? I’m not a big fan of the DLC.
Lately I’ve been in a New Vegas kick again. As I’ve played, I’ve really enjoyed exploring the Mojave again, but I’ve been hesitant to revisit any of the DLC. I have fond memories of (almost) all the DLC, why didn’t I wanna go grab my Holorifle or Desert Ranger armor? I was reading some old threads and I realized, I don’t much care for the DLC. It starts out okay and becomes worse and worse. It’s unfortunate since it’s beloved here, even I love (half-ish of) it. So in comes this braless redditor with a take (not asked for)
Dead Money: Dead Money is a great story of greed, obsession, addiction, and beep beep beep beep beepbeepbeepbeep. The storytelling and environment is A+ in Dead Money. I would argue it’s the best written of all 4 DLC, but it’s miserable to play. Traps, ghost people, holograms, the cloud, radios. There’s always something to be a pain in the ass. First time I played it, I had a guns build. I ended up tired, slashing every ghost person corpse with a nearly broken cosmic knife so I didn’t have to worry about it later. Not knowing when to run down a hall, wondering if my collar will stop beeping, or if there’s a hidden radio somewhere for me to take out. It’s the most heartbreaking one to say I hate playing when I love so much of it. But it’s just miserable.
Honest Hearts: Again, another well written DLC. As much as Daniel gets memed on for being a wimp, I do like the question of “stay or leave” Graham is another interesting character. I love the connection back to the legion in the mojave. Where Dead Money’s biggest sin was misery, Honest Heart’s is boredom. Zion is beautiful sure, the story is short but poignant. But boy the quests suck. Go see Joshua, go grab some stuff for him, kill Salt Upon Wounds (after potentially calling him a slur), everyone leaves no matter what you picked. Well, guess it’s time for a two week walk back to Nevada alone.
Old World Blues: This is where I feel I’ll get hate, but Old World Blues is a decline in both writing and gameplay. It’s fucking hilarious don’t get me wrong. Old world blues is funny, but the story sucks. “There are robot scientists who live in an exploded mountain and you get teleported there and become the inheritor bc you poked a satellite in the drive in.” The quests are even more straightforward than Honest Hearts’. “Go get these things and fight Mobius.” While completing these quests, you’ll be traversing a map that’s somehow more miserable than the Sierra Madre. At least with melee or energy weapons taking care of the ghost people in the Sierra Madre, you mostly can remember the safe spots and paths through dangerous areas. Nowhere is safe in Big MT. Lobotomites, flying skeletons, robot dogs, and worst of all the Robo-Scorpions that become actual tanks at high levels. Despite my complaint about becoming its inheritor, it is cool to upgrade all the stuff you get there, but I just hate going there and dealing with it.
Lonesome Road: The One I Loathe. A long combat hallway in a game where combat sucks. Ulysses is a freshman philosophy student getting pissed at you for unintended consequences of you doing your job, while he actively wiped entire communities off the map for his. Bull bear bull bear bull bear. The final fight with him, I’m torn on. Idk if I find it stupidly frustrating or the toughest most interesting fight in the game. Maybe both. Doesn’t stop it from being a slog. This complaint may be personal, but I’m someone who likes to create my own backstories for each of my characters. In the base game and past 3 DLC, you have full opportunity to avoid conversation paths that would deviate from whatever roleplaying concept you had in your head. The first time I played Lonesome Road, I was playing an ex-BoS member who had never left the Mojave before tackling the previous 3 DLC. I was pretty resentful that in the final hour and a half of the game they suddenly foist on my character that they DID leave the Mojave. Idk, rubbed me the wrong way.
If you read all of this and don’t say “I’m happy for you or sorry that that happened” let me know what you think. Agree? Disagree? Hope bad things befall me and my lineage? Let me know.
