We moved to Lansing (for work) from Tucson, AZ three years ago.
Looking for a good neighborhood/area to drive into from Lansing and just hang, walk around, maybe eat. Sight see, window shop etc.
My youngest daughter has a chronic neurological disorder and can get physically ill from blight or intense environmental conditions.
I thought I’d take the kids to the mall in Detroit and my Siri maps took us straight through the rough areas on the west side. It didn’t leave a good impression on them and I want to show them that Detroit isn’t what they see in the movies.
I want to show them what a beautiful city it can be in the right light and how great the people really are here. TYIA

Hi all! I am 23 years old and I’m currently trying to get disability benefits for my spinal stenosis and ADHD. I was officially diagnosed with spinal stenosis on 08/08/22. I am a recovered heroin addict, so focused solely on PT and getting radiofrequency ablation for my pain (I still average around 5-9 out of 10 on a pain scale daily). I asked about spinal surgery but was turned down due to my age. Although I am physically able to work certain jobs, what I can do is very limited as not only do I have L4 L5 spinal stenosis, I have a chipped coccyx from a very bad fall I had in 2020. I have been diagnosed with ADHD in 2020 and can function well enough in a work setting as long as I’ve taken my medication that day. I had one job at a call center since my spinal stenosis diagnosis, but that job wrongfully terminated me even though all of the time off I had to take due to pain/drs appts/PT appts was covered by ADA (if you’re disabled, do NOT work for Alorica!). I was fired early February and immediately started searching for work. Because of the horrible experience I had with Alorica, I decided that in my applications, I would be honest about my disability. When I tell you I’ve applied everywhere in Tucson, I promise I’m not exaggerating. For every application I submitted, I visited the physical location to put my foot in the door and meet managers, and EVERY TIME they look at me like I’m crazy and referred me to the online application. After looking for months straight, I am tired. I can’t help but wonder if I’m only having this experience since being honest on my applications about my disability.
Here is my dilemma:
1.) Need a source of income that won’t cause me to further injure myself
2.) I want to go to school for echocardiography, so I can’t go the SSI route because “partial disabilities don’t apply” and I won’t be able to get off of it once I finish school and want to start my career
On the SSA’s website, they mention that if I don’t qualify, I should check out my state’s disability benefits program. I’m currently in AZ but will be moving to CA with my mom in August of this year. Thankfully, my dad has had the financial security to fully support me during this time, but he is moving to Colorado to pursue a new job and I am strictly not invited. My mom loves me and wants to help, but absolutely does not have the money to fully support me, so I MUST get this figured out or else I’m going to wind up homeless. I was looking on edd.ca.gov (CA’s disability program), and I started the application process but stopped when I saw that I would need to get written documentation assessing my physical ability within 30 days of my application. All of this has seriously affected my mental health, and despite all the research I’ve done, I still feel I know nothing.
Those with knowledge and experience, what should I do here? Should I just submit my application and hope that my Drs will come through within the time limit? What do I need to tell my drs in order to get and provide the documentation that the state needs? Will I be able to stop the benefits once I finish school and am ready to work in the field?

We just finished growing grass back there and had to dig it up and the flowers I planted because their entire pool flooded my yard. Anything I can do?

Hello. My last week and a half journey of constantly reading posts in this group is over. I got my passport today and wanted to share the timeline with the others in case it helps anyone. Mailed application with routine processing on 3/16, status went “in process” 3/22, status changed to “approved” on 6/7, received passport in the mail today 6/8. I’m in Arizona and the passport came from Tucson AZ, that’s why the shipping time was so quick…Good luck everyone!

I have no idea where to post this or if it's even a thing to do here. I'm new. Last December I went to a drag Christmas show in tucson az. It's Murray & Peter. I couldn't find a sub for that. I'm OG, been watching drag race since the first night it aired. I have bad social anxiety. As much as I'd love to go to dragcon, I think I'd get overwhelmed. Both by the crowd and by me literally pissing myself at the sight of these spectacular creatures. So, when the show came to my town to a smaller theater, I got VIP tickets. I'm second in line for photos. I walk up in a daze, shitting myself because freaking Manilla is right behind me. I'm laughing and crying at the same time. We get back to our seats and I start noticing people pull individual queens for pictures. I didn't know you could do that. I wanted a picture with manilla. My husband died a few years ago and old seasons of drag race got me through. And Manilla had also lost a husband. I felt a special bond.
Now everyone around me is telling me to go back up. One person one picture. That was the rule. I'm pretty much the opposite of entitled. After the last people went, there were 5 minutes left. My SO runs up and explained to the gentleman that I didn't know any better and I wanted a picture with Manilla. I was mortified. But they let me up there. One of the guys was helping people through the line. The other was taking pictures and I think there may have been a stage manager.
It's been 6 months and I think about this all the time. I wish I knew who you guys are. This was one of the nicest things ANYONE has ever done for me. I'm crying right now. Thank you so much 💓 🌈 🏳️‍🌈 Also, you guys take the best pictures ever!! ❤️ 💙 💜 💖 💗

Are all the presale tickets pick up at will call or is it just my venue in Tempe, AZ? i was going to buy tickets yesterday from their website or the spotify presale but they both specified the tickets would need to be picked up at will call the day of the concert. I had to do will call when i purchased presale tickets when they came to Tucson last October and I’d rather just have the tickets on my phone this time. So I’m mostly just trying to figure out if the will call is venue specific or presale specific.

I was going on a cruise so thankfully I was able to go on vacation without a passport. However, I sent my application to Philadelphia, my application was processed in Charleston, SC and is now shipping from AZ to NJ. What sense does this make? This system is broken.

My love, Tommy James, fell into a coma. I chose to let him go be with God. It was the hardest decision i have ever made. Shortly thereafter i was evicted due to my name not being on the lease, lost everything i own, and on top of everything else our dog, Bruiser, died in his sleep a week after Tommy then my stepson passed away shortly thereafter.
