The Airbus A300 is a wide-body airliner developed and manufactured by Airbus. In September 1967, aircraft manufacturers in the United Kingdom, France, and West Germany signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a large airliner. West Germany and France reached an agreement on 29 May 1969 after the British withdrew from the project on 10 April 1969. European collaborative aerospace manufacturer Airbus Industrie was formally created on 18 December 1970 to develop and produce it. The prototype first flew on 28 October 1972.
The first twin-engine widebody airliner, the A300 typically seats 247 passengers in two classes over a range of 5,375 to 7,500 km (2,900 to 4,050 nmi). Initial variants are powered by General Electric CF6-50 or Pratt & Whitney JT9D turbofans and have a three-crew flight deck. The improved A300-600 has a two-crew cockpit and updated CF6-80C2 or PW4000 engines; it made its first flight on 8 July 1983 and entered service later that year. The A300 is the basis of the smaller A310 (first flown in 1982) and was adapted in a freighter version. Its cross section was retained for the larger four-engined A340 (1991) and the larger twin-engined A330 (1992). It is also the basis for the oversize Beluga transport (1994).
Launch customer Air France introduced the type on 23 May 1974. After limited demand initially, sales took off as the type was proven in early service, beginning three decades of steady orders. It has a similar capacity to the Boeing 767-300, introduced in 1986, but lacked the 767-300ER range. During the 1990s, the A300 became popular with cargo aircraft operators, as both passenger airliner conversions and as original builds. Production ceased in July 2007 after 561 deliveries. As of March 2023, there were 228 A300 family aircraft in commercial service.
Origins:
During the 1960s, European aircraft manufacturers such as Hawker Siddeley and the British Aircraft Corporation, based in the UK, and Sud Aviation of France, had ambitions to build a new 200-seat airliner for the growing civil aviation market. While studies were performed and considered, such as a stretched twin-engine variant of the Hawker Siddeley Trident and an expanded development of the British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) One-Eleven, designated the BAC Two-Eleven, it was recognized that if each of the European manufacturers were to launch similar aircraft into the market at the same time, neither would achieve sales volume needed to make them viable.[2] In 1965, a British government study, known as the Plowden Report, had found British aircraft production costs to be between 10% and 20% higher than American counterparts due to shorter production runs, which was in part due to the fractured European market. To overcome this factor, the report recommended the pursuit of multinational collaborative projects between the region's leading aircraft manufacturers.[3]: 49 [4][5]: 2–13
European manufacturers were keen to explore prospective programs; the proposed 260-seat wide-body HBN 100 between Hawker Siddeley, Nord Aviation, and Breguet Aviation being one such example.[2][6]: 37–38 National governments were also keen to support such efforts amid a belief that American manufacturers could dominate the European Economic Community;[7] in particular, Germany had ambitions for a multinational airliner project to invigorate its aircraft industry, which had declined considerably following the Second World War.[3]: 49–50 During the mid-1960s, both Air France and American Airlines had expressed interest in a short-haul twin-engine wide-body aircraft, indicating a market demand for such an aircraft to be produced.[3][8] In July 1967, during a high-profile meeting between French, German, and British ministers, an agreement was made for greater cooperation between European nations in the field of aviation technology, and "for the joint development and production of an airbus".[2][9]: 34 The word airbus at this point was a generic aviation term for a larger commercial aircraft, and was considered acceptable in multiple languages, including French.[9]: 34
Shortly after the July 1967 meeting, French engineer Roger Béteille was appointed as the technical director of what would become the A300 program, while Henri Ziegler, chief operating office of Sud Aviation, was appointed as the general manager of the organization and German politician Franz Josef Strauss became the chairman of the supervisory board.[2] Béteille drew up an initial work share plan for the project, under which French firms would produce the aircraft's cockpit, the control systems, and lower-center portion of the fuselage, Hawker Siddeley would manufacture the wings, while German companies would produce the forward, rear and upper part of the center fuselage sections. Addition work included moving elements of the wings being produced in the Netherlands, and Spain producing the horizontal tail plane.[2][6]: 38
An early design goal for the A300 that Béteille had stressed the importance of was the incorporation of a high level of technology, which would serve as a decisive advantage over prospective competitors. As such, the A300 would feature the first use of composite materials of any passenger aircraft, the leading and trailing edges of the tail fin being composed of glass fibre reinforced plastic.[5]: 2–16 [10] Béteille opted for English as the working language for the developing aircraft, as well against using Metric instrumentation and measurements, as most airlines already had US-built aircraft.[10] These decisions were partially influenced by feedback from various airlines, such as Air France and Lufthansa, as an emphasis had been placed on determining the specifics of what kind of aircraft that potential operators were seeking. According to Airbus, this cultural approach to market research had been crucial to the company's long-term success.[10]
Workshare and redefinition:
On 26 September 1967, the British, French, and West German governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding to start development of the 300-seat Airbus A300.[6]: 38 [11]: 43 [12]: 57 At this point, the A300 was only the second major joint aircraft programme in Europe, the first being the Anglo-French Concorde.[9] Under the terms of the memorandum, Britain and France were each to receive a 37.5 per cent work share on the project, while Germany received a 25 per cent share. Sud Aviation was recognized as the lead company for A300, with Hawker Siddeley being selected as the British partner company.[2] At the time, the news of the announcement had been clouded by the British Government's support for the Airbus, which coincided with its refusal to back BAC's proposed competitor, the BAC 2–11, despite a preference for the latter expressed by British European Airways (BEA).[9]: 34 Another parameter was the requirement for a new engine to be developed by Rolls-Royce to power the proposed airliner; a derivative of the in-development Rolls-Royce RB211, the triple-spool RB207, capable of producing of 47,500 lbf (211 kN).[13] The program cost was US$4.6 billion (in 1993 Dollars).[14]

In December 1968, the French and British partner companies (Sud Aviation and Hawker Siddeley) proposed a revised configuration, the 250-seat Airbus A250. It had been feared that the original 300-seat proposal was too large for the market, thus it had been scaled down to produce the A250.[5]: 2–14 [8][15] The dimensional changes involved in the shrink reduced the length of the fuselage by 5.62 metres (18.4 ft) and the diameter by 0.8 metres (31 in), reducing the overall weight by 25 tonnes (55,000 lb).[10][16]: 16 For increased flexibility, the cabin floor was raised so that standard LD3 freight containers could be accommodated side-by-side, allowing more cargo to be carried. Refinements made by Hawker Siddeley to the wing's design provided for greater lift and overall performance; this gave the aircraft the ability to climb faster and attain a level cruising altitude sooner than any other passenger aircraft.[10] It was later renamed the A300B.[9]: 34 [15]
Perhaps the most significant change of the A300B was that it would not require new engines to be developed, being of a suitable size to be powered by Rolls-Royce's RB211, or alternatively the American Pratt & Whitney JT9D and General Electric CF6 powerplants; this switch was recognized as considerably reducing the project's development costs.[11]: 45 [15][16]: 16–17 To attract potential customers in the US market, it was decided that General Electric CF6-50 engines would power the A300 in place of the British RB207; these engines would be produced in co-operation with French firm Snecma.[8][10] By this time, Rolls-Royce had been concentrating their efforts upon developing their RB211 turbofan engine instead and progress on the RB207's development had been slow for some time, the firm having suffered due to funding limitations, both of which had been factors in the engine switch decision.[5]: 2–13 [15][16]: 17–18
On 10 April 1969, a few months after the decision to drop the RB207 had been announced, the British government announced that they would withdraw from the Airbus venture.[6]: 38–39 [15] In response, West Germany proposed to France that they would be willing to contribute up to 50% of the project's costs if France was prepared to do the same.[15] Additionally, the managing director of Hawker Siddeley, Sir Arnold Alexander Hall, decided that his company would remain in the project as a favoured sub-contractor, developing and manufacturing the wings for the A300, which would later become pivotal in later versions' impressive performance from short domestic to long intercontinental flights.[5]: 2–13 [9]: 34 [16]: 18 Hawker Siddeley spent £35 million of its own funds, along with a further £35 million loan from the West German government, on the machine tooling to design and produce the wings.[6]: 39 [15]
Programme launch:
On 29 May 1969, during the Paris Air Show, French transport minister Jean Chamant and German economics minister Karl Schiller signed an agreement officially launching the Airbus A300, the world's first twin-engine widebody airliner.[2] The intention of the project was to produce an aircraft that was smaller, lighter, and more economical than its three-engine American rivals, the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 and the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar.[10] In order to meet Air France's demands for an aircraft larger than 250-seat A300B, it was decided to stretch the fuselage to create a new variant, designated as the A300B2, which would be offered alongside the original 250-seat A300B, henceforth referred to as the A300B1. On 3 September 1970, Air France signed a letter of intent for six A300s, marking the first order to be won for the new airliner.[6]: 39 [10][16]: 21
In the aftermath of the Paris Air Show agreement, it was decided that, in order to provide effective management of responsibilities, a Groupement d'intérêt économique would be established, allowing the various partners to work together on the project while remaining separate business entities.[2] On 18 December 1970, Airbus Industrie was formally established following an agreement between Aérospatiale (the newly merged Sud Aviation and Nord Aviation) of France and the antecedents to Deutsche Aerospace of Germany, each receiving a 50 per cent stake in the newly formed company.[3]: 50 [6]: 39 [10] In 1971, the consortium was joined by a third full partner, the Spanish firm CASA, who received a 4.2 per cent stake, the other two members reducing their stakes to 47.9 per cent each.[10][16]: 20 In 1979, Britain joined the Airbus consortium via British Aerospace, which Hawker Siddeley had merged into, which acquired a 20 per cent stake in Airbus Industrie with France and Germany each reducing their stakes to 37.9 per cent.[3]: 53 [5]: 2–14 [6]: 39
Prototype and flight testing:
Airbus Industrie was initially headquartered in Paris, which is where design, development, flight testing, sales, marketing, and customer support activities were centered; the headquarters was relocated to Toulouse in January 1974.[8][10] The final assembly line for the A300 was located adjacent to Toulouse Blagnac International Airport. The manufacturing process necessitated transporting each aircraft section being produced by the partner companies scattered across Europe to this one location. The combined use of ferries and roads were used for the assembly of the first A300, however this was time-consuming and not viewed as ideal by Felix Kracht, Airbus Industrie's production director.[10] Kracht's solution was to have the various A300 sections brought to Toulouse by a fleet of Boeing 377-derived Aero Spacelines Super Guppy aircraft, by which means none of the manufacturing sites were more than two hours away. Having the sections airlifted in this manner made the A300 the first airliner to use just-in-time manufacturing techniques, and allowed each company to manufacture its sections as fully equipped, ready-to-fly assemblies.[3]: 53 [10]
In September 1969, construction of the first prototype A300 began.[16]: 20 On 28 September 1972, this first prototype was unveiled to the public, it conducted its maiden flight from Toulouse–Blagnac International Airport on 28 October that year.[6]: 39 [9]: 34 [11]: 51–52 This maiden flight, which was performed a month ahead of schedule, lasted for one hour and 25 minutes; the captain was Max Fischl and the first officer was Bernard Ziegler, son of Henri Ziegler.[10] In 1972, unit cost was US$17.5M.[17] On 5 February 1973, the second prototype performed its maiden flight.[6]: 39 The flight test program, which involved a total of four aircraft, was relatively problem-free, accumulating 1,580 flight hours throughout.[16]: 22 In September 1973, as part of promotional efforts for the A300, the new aircraft was taken on a six-week tour around North America and South America, to demonstrate it to airline executives, pilots, and would-be customers.[10] Amongst the consequences of this expedition, it had allegedly brought the A300 to the attention of Frank Borman of Eastern Airlines, one of the "big four" U.S. airlines.[18]
Entry into service:
On 15 March 1974, type certificates were granted for the A300 from both German and French authorities, clearing the way for its entry into revenue service.[18] On 23 May 1974, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification was received.[16]: 22 The first production model, the A300B2, entered service in 1974, followed by the A300B4 one year later.[8] Initially, the success of the consortium was poor, in part due to the economic consequences of the 1973 oil crisis,[6]: 40 [8][9]: 34 but by 1979 there were 81 A300 passenger liners in service with 14 airlines, alongside 133 firm orders and 88 options.[18] Ten years after the official launch of the A300, the company had achieved a 26 per cent market share in terms of dollar value, enabling Airbus Industries to proceed with the development of its second aircraft, the Airbus A310.[18]
Design:
The Airbus A300 is a wide-body medium-to-long range airliner; it has the distinction of being the first twin-engine wide-body aircraft in the world.[8][9]: 34 [12]: 57, 60 [19] In 1977, the A300 became the first Extended Range Twin Operations (ETOPS)-compliant aircraft, due to its high performance and safety standards.[6]: 40 Another world-first of the A300 is the use of composite materials on a commercial aircraft, which were used on both secondary and later primary airframe structures, decreasing overall weight and improving cost-effectiveness.[19] Other firsts included the pioneering use of center-of-gravity control, achieved by transferring fuel between various locations across the aircraft, and electrically signaled secondary flight controls.[20]
The A300 is powered by a pair of underwing turbofan engines, either General Electric CF6 or Pratt & Whitney JT9D engines; the sole use of underwing engine pods allowed for any suitable turbofan engine to be more readily used.[12]: 57 The lack of a third tail-mounted engine, as per the trijet configuration used by some competing airliners, allowed for the wings to be located further forwards and to reduce the size of the vertical stabilizer and elevator, which had the effect of increasing the aircraft's flight performance and fuel efficiency.[3]: 50 [16]: 21
Airbus partners had employed the latest technology, some of which having been derived from Concorde, on the A300. According to Airbus, new technologies adopted for the airliner were selected principally for increased safety, operational capability, and profitability.[19] Upon entry into service in 1974, the A300 was a very advanced plane, which went on to influence later airliner designs. The technological highlights include advanced wings by de Havilland (later BAE Systems) with supercritical airfoil sections for economical performance and advanced aerodynamically efficient flight control surfaces. The 5.64 m (222 in) diameter circular fuselage section allows an eight-abreast passenger seating and is wide enough for 2 LD3 cargo containers side by side. Structures are made from metal billets, reducing weight. It is the first airliner to be fitted with wind shear protection. Its advanced autopilots are capable of flying the aircraft from climb-out to landing, and it has an electrically controlled braking system.
Later A300s incorporated other advanced features such as the Forward-Facing Crew Cockpit (FFCC), which enabled a two-pilot flight crew to fly the aircraft alone without the need for a flight engineer, the functions of which were automated; this two-man cockpit concept was a world-first for a wide-body aircraft.[8][16]: 23–24 [20] Glass cockpit flight instrumentation, which used cathode ray tube (CRT) monitors to display flight, navigation, and warning information, along with fully digital dual autopilots and digital flight control computers for controlling the spoilers, flaps, and leading-edge slats, were also adopted upon later-built models.[19][21] Additional composites were also made use of, such as carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP), as well as their presence in an increasing proportion of the aircraft's components, including the spoilers, rudder, air brakes, and landing gear doors.[22] Another feature of later aircraft was the addition of wingtip fences, which improved aerodynamic performance and thus reduced cruise fuel consumption by about 1.5% for the A300-600.[23]
In addition to passenger duties, the A300 became widely used by air freight operators; according to Airbus, it is the best selling freight aircraft of all time.[20] Various variants of the A300 were built to meet customer demands, often for diverse roles such as aerial refueling tankers, freighter models (new-build and conversions), combi aircraft, military airlifter, and VIP transport. Perhaps the most visually unique of the variants is the A300-600ST Beluga, an oversize cargo-carrying model operated by Airbus to carry aircraft sections between their manufacturing facilities.[20] The A300 was the basis for, and retained a high level of commonality with, the second airliner produced by Airbus, the smaller Airbus A310.[19]
Operational history:
On 23 May 1974, the first A300 to enter service performed the first commercial flight of the type, flying from Paris to London, for Air France.[6]: 39 [18]
Immediately after the launch, sales of the A300 were weak for some years, with most orders going to airlines that had an obligation to favor the domestically made product – notably Air France and Lufthansa, the first two airlines to place orders for the type.[3]: 50–52 [18] Following the appointment of Bernard Lathière as Henri Ziegler's replacement, an aggressive sales approach was adopted. Indian Airlines was the world's first domestic airline to purchase the A300, ordering three aircraft with three options. However, between December 1975 and May 1977, there were no sales for the type. During this period a number of "whitetail" A300s – completed but unsold aircraft – were completed and stored at Toulouse, and production fell to half an aircraft per month amid calls to pause production completely.[18]
During the flight testing of the A300B2, Airbus held a series of talks with Korean Air on the topic of developing a longer-range version of the A300, which would become the A300B4. In September 1974, Korean Air placed an order for four A300B4s with options for two further aircraft; this sale was viewed as significant as it was the first non-European international airline to order Airbus aircraft. Airbus had viewed South-East Asia as a vital market that was ready to be opened up and believed Korean Air to be the 'key'.[8][16]: 23 [18]
Airlines operating the A300 on short haul routes were forced to reduce frequencies to try and fill the aircraft. As a result, they lost passengers to airlines operating more frequent narrow body flights. Eventually, Airbus had to build its own narrowbody aircraft (the A320) to compete with the Boeing 737 and McDonnell Douglas DC-9/MD-80. The savior of the A300 was the advent of ETOPS, a revised FAA rule which allows twin-engine jets to fly long-distance routes that were previously off-limits to them. This enabled Airbus to develop the aircraft as a medium/long range airliner.
In 1977, US carrier Eastern Air Lines leased four A300s as an in-service trial.[18] CEO Frank Borman was impressed that the A300 consumed 30% less fuel, even less than expected, than his fleet of L-1011s. Borman proceeded to order 23 A300s, becoming the first U.S. customer for the type. This order is often cited as the point at which Airbus came to be seen as a serious competitor to the large American aircraft-manufacturers Boeing and McDonnell Douglas.[6]: 40 [8][18] Aviation author John Bowen alleged that various concessions, such as loan guarantees from European governments and compensation payments, were a factor in the decision as well.[3]: 52 The Eastern Air Lines breakthrough was shortly followed by an order from Pan Am. From then on, the A300 family sold well, eventually reaching a total of 561 delivered aircraft.[1]
In December 1977, Aerocondor Colombia became the first Airbus operator in Latin America, leasing one Airbus A300B4-2C, named Ciudad de Barranquilla.
During the late 1970s, Airbus adopted a so-called 'Silk Road' strategy, targeting airlines in the Far East.[3]: 52 [18] As a result, The aircraft found particular favor with Asian airlines, being bought by Japan Air System, Korean Air, China Eastern Airlines, Thai Airways International, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, China Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines, Indian Airlines, Trans Australia Airlines and many others. As Asia did not have restrictions similar to the FAA 60-minutes rule for twin-engine airliners which existed at the time, Asian airlines used A300s for routes across the Bay of Bengal and South China Sea.
In 1977, the A300B4 became the first ETOPS compliant aircraft,[24] qualifying for Extended Twin Engine Operations over water, providing operators with more versatility in routing. In 1982 Garuda Indonesia became the first airline to fly the A300B4-200FFCC.[25] By 1981, Airbus was growing rapidly, with over 400 aircraft sold to over forty airlines.[26]
In 1989, Chinese operator China Eastern Airlines received its first A300; by 2006, the airline operated around 18 A300s, making it the largest operator of both the A300 and the A310 at that time. On 31 May 2014, China Eastern officially retired the last A300-600 in its fleet, having begun drawing down the type in 2010.[27]
From 1997 to 2014, a single A300, designated A300 Zero-G, was operated by the European Space Agency (ESA), centre national d'études spatiales (CNES) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR) as a reduced-gravity aircraft for conducting research into microgravity; the A300 is the largest aircraft to ever have been used in this capacity. A typical flight would last for two and a half hours, enabling up to 30 parabolas to be performed per flight.[28][29]
By the 1990s, the A300 was being heavily promoted as a cargo freighter.[16]: 24 The largest freight operator of the A300 is FedEx Express, which has 65 A300 aircraft in service as of May 2022.[30] UPS Airlines also operates 52 freighter versions of the A300.[31]
The final version was the A300-600R and is rated for 180-minute ETOPS. The A300 has enjoyed renewed interest in the secondhand market for conversion to freighters; large numbers were being converted during the late 1990s.[16]: 24–25 The freighter versions – either new-build A300-600s or converted ex-passenger A300-600s, A300B2s and B4s – account for most of the world's freighter fleet after the Boeing 747 freighter.[32]
The A300 provided Airbus the experience of manufacturing and selling airliners competitively. The basic fuselage of the A300 was later stretched (A330 and A340), shortened (A310), or modified into derivatives (A300-600ST Beluga Super Transporter). In 2006, unit cost of an −600F was $105 million.[14] In March 2006, Airbus announced the impending closure of the A300/A310 final assembly line,[33] making them the first Airbus aircraft to be discontinued. The final production A300, an A300F freighter, performed its initial flight on 18 April 2007,[34] and was delivered to FedEx Express on 12 July 2007.[35] Airbus has announced a support package to keep A300s flying commercially. Airbus offers the A330-200F freighter as a replacement for the A300 cargo variants.[36]
The life of UPS's fleet of 52 A300s, delivered from 2000 to 2006, will be extended to 2035 by a flight deck upgrade based around Honeywell Primus Epic avionics; new displays and flight management system (FMS), improved weather radar, a central maintenance system, and a new version of the current enhanced ground proximity warning system. With a light usage of only two to three cycles per day, it will not reach the maximum number of cycles by then. The first modification will be made at Airbus Toulouse in 2019 and certified in 2020.[37] As of July 2017, there are 211 A300s in service with 22 operators, with the largest operator being FedEx Express with 68 A300-600F aircraft.[38]
Variants:
A300B1 - The A300B1 was the first variant to take flight. It had a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 132 t (291,000 lb), was 51 m (167 ft) long and was powered by two General Electric CF6-50A engines.[16]: 21 [39]: 41 Only two prototypes of the variant were built before it was adapted into the A300B2, the first production variant of the airliner.[6]: 39 The second prototype was leased to Trans European Airways in 1974.[39]: 54
A300B2 -
A300B2-100:
Responding to a need for more seats from Air France, Airbus decided that the first production variant should be larger than the original prototype A300B1. The CF6-50A powered A300B2-100 was 2.6 m (8.5 ft) longer than the A300B1 and had an increased MTOW of 137 t (302,000 lb), allowing for 30 additional seats and bringing the typical passenger count up to 281, with capacity for 20 LD3 containers.[40]: 10 [41][39]: 17 Two prototypes were built and the variant made its maiden flight on 28 June 1973, became certified on 15 March 1974 and entered service with Air France on 23 May 1974.[39]: 27, 53 [40]: 10
A300B2-200:
For the A300B2-200, originally designated as the A300B2K, Krueger flaps were introduced at the leading-edge root, the slat angles were reduced from 20 degrees to 16 degrees, and other lift related changes were made in order to introduce a high-lift system. This was done to improve performance when operating at high-altitude airports, where the air is less dense and lift generation is reduced.[42]: 52, 53 [43] The variant had an increased MTOW of 142 t (313,000 lb) and was powered by CF6-50C engines, was certified on 23 June 1976, and entered service with South African Airways in November 1976.[39]: 40 [40]: 12 CF6-50C1 and CF6-50C2 models were also later fitted depending on customer requirements, these became certified on 22 February 1978 and 21 February 1980 respectively.[39]: 41 [40]: 12
A300B2-320:
The A300B2-320 introduced the Pratt & Whitney JT9D powerplant and was powered by JT9D-59A engines. It retained the 142 t (313,000 lb) MTOW of the B2-200, was certified on 4 January 1980, and entered service with Scandinavian Airlines on 18 February 1980, with only four being produced.[39]: 99, 112 [40]: 14
A300B4 -
A300B4-100:
The initial A300B4 variant, later named the A300B4-100, included a centre fuel tank for an increased fuel capacity of 47.5 tonnes (105,000 lb), and had an increased MTOW of 157.5 tonnes (347,000 lb).[44][42]: 38 It also featured Krueger flaps and had a similar high-lift system to what was later fitted to the A300B2-200.[42]: 74 The variant made its maiden flight on 26 December 1974, was certified on 26 March 1975, and entered service with Germanair in May 1975.[39]: 32, 54 [40]: 16
A300B4-200:
The A300B4-200 had an increased MTOW of 165 tonnes (364,000 lb) and featured an additional optional fuel tank in the rear cargo hold, which would reduce the cargo capacity by two LD3 containers.[40]: 19 [42]: 69 The variant was certified on 26 April 1979.[40]: 19
A300-600 - The A300-600, officially designated as the A300B4-600, was slightly longer than the A300B2 and A300B4 variants and had an increased interior space from using a similar rear fuselage to the Airbus A310, this allowed it to have two additional rows of seats.[42]: 79 It was initially powered by Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7R4H1 engines, but was later fitted with General Electric CF6-80C2 engines, with Pratt & Whitney PW4156 or PW4158 engines being introduced in 1986.[42]: 82 Other changes include an improved wing featuring a recambered trailing edge, the incorporation of simpler single-slotted Fowler flaps, the deletion of slat fences, and the removal of the outboard ailerons after they were deemed unnecessary on the A310.[45] The variant made its first flight on 8 July 1983, was certified on 9 March 1984, and entered service in June 1984 with Saudi Arabian Airlines.[40]: 42 [39]: 58 A total of 313 A300-600s (all versions) have been sold. The A300-600 uses the A310 cockpits, featuring digital technology and electronic displays, eliminating the need for a flight engineer. The FAA issues a single type rating which allows operation of both the A310 and A300-600. A300-600: (Official designation: A300B4-600) The baseline model of the −600 series. A300-620C: (Official designation: A300C4-620) A convertible-freighter version. Four delivered between 1984 and 1985. A300-600F: (Official designation: A300F4-600) The freighter version of the baseline −600. A300-600R: (Official designation: A300B4-600R) The increased-range −600, achieved by an additional trim fuel tank in the tail. First delivery in 1988 to American Airlines; all A300s built since 1989 (freighters included) are −600Rs. Japan Air System (later merged into Japan Airlines) took delivery of the last new-built passenger A300, an A300-622R, in November 2002. A300-600RC: (Official designation: A300C4-600R) The convertible-freighter version of the −600R. Two were delivered in 1999. A300-600RF: (Official designation: A300F4-600R) The freighter version of the −600R. All A300s delivered between November 2002 and 12 July 2007 (last ever A300 delivery) were A300-600RFs.
A310 (A300B10)-
Airbus had demand for an aircraft smaller than the A300. On 7 July 1978, the A310 (initially the A300B10) was launched with orders from Swissair and Lufthansa. On 3 April 1982, the first prototype conducted its maiden flight and it received its type certification on 11 March 1983.
Keeping the same eight-abreast cross-section, the A310 is 6.95 m (22.8 ft) shorter than the initial A300 variants, and has a smaller 219 m2 (2,360 sq ft) wing, down from 260 m2 (2,800 sq ft). The A310 introduced a two-crew glass cockpit, later adopted for the A300-600 with a common type rating. It was powered by the same GE CF6-80 or Pratt & Whitney JT9D then PW4000 turbofans. It can seat 220 passengers in two classes, or 240 in all-economy, and can fly up to 5,150 nmi (9,540 km). It has overwing exits between the two main front and rear door pairs.
In April 1983, the aircraft entered revenue service with Swissair and competed with the Boeing 767–200, introduced six months before. Its longer range and ETOPS regulations allowed it to be operated on transatlantic flights. Until the last delivery in June 1998, 255 aircraft were produced, as it was succeeded by the larger Airbus A330-200. It has cargo aircraft versions, and was derived into the Airbus A310 MRTT military tanketransport.
Airbus A300-ST (Beluga)
Commonly referred to as the Airbus Beluga or "Airbus Super Transporter," these five airframes are used by Airbus to ferry parts between the company's disparate manufacturing facilities, thus enabling workshare distribution. They replaced the four Aero Spacelines Super Guppys previously used by Airbus.
ICAO code: A3ST
Operators:
As of March 2023, there were 228 A300 family aircraft in commercial service. The five largest operators were FedEx Express (70), UPS Airlines (52), European Air Transport Leipzig (23), Iran Air (11), and Mahan Air (11).[46]

2023.06.04 08:54 troublepickinganame 0xGamble - 1UCK [100k market cap] [4 days old]

TL;DR at the bottom, but may be worth a read
I just found a token with a genuinely unique take on a gambling contract that has had all ownership revoked by its dev, minus his 10% share and now its over to everyone. This is something actually fun. I spent my whole day researching this token and wanted to share with you what I found out about it.
Some facts about 0xGamble (ticker: 1UCK)
• max supply: 123456789 • no minting, no backdoors, burn included on every TX • launched 4 days ago • code checks out
As the name implies, 0xGamble is a gambling) token. Here’s how it works:
• 1% tax on every TX - 50% burned, 50% goes into the ‚pot‘ • every TX generates a random number internally • if the generated number is divisible by 69, the ‚house‘ (aka dev) wins the ‚pot‘ • if the number is divisible by 420, the guy making the transaction wins the ‚pot‘ (congrats!) • if the number is divisible by 1337, the ‚pot‘ is burned forever
To put it simple:
• buy/sell/transfer - chance to win the pot • hold - tokens get burned, price go up • provide liquidity - liquidity rewards + tokens get burned, price go up
Nobody knows if and when anyone (the ‚house‘ included) will win the pot. Or if it will get burned and we have to wait for a new pot. And that’s alright. We all win.
There is no official website, marketing, telegram, etc. No official nothing. Dev kept 10% of the supply as payment and added the rest as liquidity on PancakeSwap. No other tokens exist, or will ever exist. There’s no pre-sale, so there’s no whales to dump. Everyone can make his own 1UCK.
Investing in crypto is basically a gamble anyways. Everyone hopes his favorite coin is gonna make it. So an actual, honest gambling token boiling down crypto to what it actually is seems to really fit here!
I did some further digging:
Let’s look back at those facts:
  1. if number is divisible by 420: Transaction address wins
  2. if number generated is divisible by 69: The house wins
  3. If number is divisible by 1337: pot is burned
When doing the math, the odds of
  1. Winning the pot are ~0.23 %
  2. The pot going to the house are ~1.4 %
  3. The pot getting burned are ~0.07 %
To put that into perspective: Typical slot machines have a 1/5000 to a 1/34 million chance of winning the jackpot. So, the odds of winning with a 1UCK Transaction are 10 - 10000000x higher than winning the pot of a slot machine.
That’s not all, I dug deeper. Is it really like that? I did cross check of and found out the following: Out of 434 transactions (at that time), the total of burned tokens was at 2,247,721 (at that time)
The function „PotTransferredToHouse“ was emitted 4 times during those 434 transactions, adding up to 1,068,881 Tokens
One lucky Guy out of those 434 transactions won the rest of the pot, which was about 1,178,840 Tokens.
So the math adds up with the calculated odds: Number of transactions: 434 House wins: 4 -> odds: 0.92 % User wins: 1 -> odds: 0.23 %
*What does it mean? * In my opinion, this is one of the most honest tokens I have ever seen. No Rug, no BS, no big marketing talks about real world use cases. Just a simple gambling token with solid code (seriously, check for yourselves). Its simplicity is also its beauty.
Genius move: Turning the coin into the casino itself removes counterparty risk associated with third party gambling sites. This could actually become something big. Because with this mechanic the token is actually the first of its kind!
Where is this coin listed? You can get it on PancakeSwap. This is the contract address: 0x30016A1764C93EEdCCbEE5E1b3835F191c6f4050
TL;DR: No-Bullshit gambling token playing a numbers game every transaction. Better chances than regular slots. Code checks out, math checks out. This could be big. You’re still early for this one.

2023.06.04 05:34 ryantwelvepitch Are these symptoms comorbid with Asperger’s generally?

Hey all, I was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome when I was nine/about to be ten in 2012 and later autism spectrum disorder when I was fourteen. I have a question. What do you think this is I’m dealing with? Do you think this could be an underlying symptom of my Asperger’s/autism or something entirely different that could be comorbid with my Asperger’s? I hear faint male voices in my head that get louder at night. They sound like narrative tape recordings that get the play button activated whenever a trigger occurs. For example, if I’m walking outside, tell me that if I touch a leaf/it touches me or if my mom or another person touches my arm or something that I will transform into a leaf/plants will grow out of my skin/I will transform into that person/my arm will change into theirs in five seconds (I can see the countdown in my imagination) if I don’t count my fingers 18 times “to verify my age” correctly, go urinate, spit on my shirt, or blink 18 times. They also tell me not to step on certain rugs because they could be a portal to Hell. I have to walk around them, which can be very difficult. I used to be on Seroquel 100 mg, Lamictal 150 mg twice a day, and Fluvoxamine 50 mg. The Fluvoxamine was for OCD, which has been considered for the symptoms I’ve described. However, it seems to have made my voice louder and more demanding, so I transferred over to Invega 1.5 mg. last week and I’m getting off of another version of Seroquel, the extended release 50 mg. version. I’m honestly slowly starting to feel better. The voices started when I was eight years old. I remember the day exactly. I had seen “Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade” the night before, and it scared the absolute shit out of me (please excuse my language). The next day, I was listening to “The Boys Of Summer” by Don Henley, and that’s when I first heard (and imagined) the notorious “countdown.” So, I have a love/hate relationship with that song. I did not tell anyone about my voice(s) until I was ten. I was too scared to mention them. Soon thereafter, I started on Abilify at about 5 mg. It made me gain a ton of weight and messed with my mental state terribly for the first four years, then I lost weight by removing sugar and gluten from my diet for a bit. I longer do that diet, albeit I work out weekly or twice a week now to keep myself in shape. It started to “work” per se then, although I didn’t like the way it made me feel honestly. When I was 17, I got off of Abilify and transferred to only Fluvoxamine 50 mg. I felt terrible afterwards. I had no motivation to socialize, so simple things such as talk, eat, drink, and walk, no libido, and angry breakdowns were very common. So, then I started on Lamictal 25 mg. twice a day to change my moods. It worked slightly, but I couldn’t sleep. So, soon thereafter, I got put on 25 mg. of regular Seroquel. I felt better, though my voices were getting worse. After my psychiatrist changed my meds the doses I mentioned at the top of this post, I felt wretched again. So now, I’m simply going to be on 1.5 mg. of Invega. My moods also whip like a pendulum. I can be perfectly happy one day, often to the point that I stay up all night listening to music and cleaning my room. My sexual libido also roars during this time. Other times, I can be pessimistic, unforgiving, feeling like I’m a cross to bear on everyone around me, even including my best friends, I feel I hate life, I yell and act curt over small things, my libido slowly dies, etc. My moods are very unpredictable. My psychiatrist diagnosed me with bipolar type II and OCD and later schizoaffective disorder after I was able after ten years to correctly describe what I was dealing with. Some rituals I believe are things I came up with to alleviate the voices’ aggressive commands. The voice(s) also tells me that I have to clinch my fingers a certain way on my pillow when I sleep. If they lose their form, I have to count my pinky fingers eighteen times often myriads of times as the “age verification” thing I mentioned above. Is the fear of transformation and the voice telling me to do things a certain way a symptom of my autism in your opinion, or what do you think it is? Does this sound like schizoaffective disorder to you, or what do you think I could be dealing with? Best regards, and peace and love! Ryan

2023.06.04 02:19 GGIOVEENEE I summed up the ENTIRE doom lore in the most dumbass way possible. It's kind of a long read but trust me it's worth it.

The Doom Slayer is a marine, he has a wife, a son, a pet rabbit, and he is strong as fuck. He gets sent on Mars by his superior as a punishment for not brutally murdering innocent people without reason; on Mars he works for the UAC and at some point he discovers multiple portals directly connected to Hell, which he decides to close while murdering fucking everything; he goes back and forth a couple of times from Earth to Mars to Hell; his pet rabbit dies; and he kills the personification of Satan's powers: the Icon Of Sin.
He then becomes part of the Order Of The Sentinels of the population of Argent d'nur by fighting in an arena to prove his worth, all the time babbling about demons and murder due to the psychological trauma of his past battles. The capital city of Argent d'nur, Taras Nabad, gets fucking clapped by the Hell forces and the Sentinels who fiercely fought to defend the citadel all fucking die.
The dumbass Priests who lead the citadel alongside the most useless king ever and their otherworldly ally, the Khan Maykr, all get corrupted by the hellish energy oringinated from the suffering of tortured souls. They then cooperate to perfect the hellish energy transforming it into Argent energy.
In the meantime Earth fucking dies; the Doom Slayer gets inside a giant tanning lamp infused with the powers of literal fucking Satan; the treatment is from one of the Khan Maykr's subordinates, who then hides on earth in human form only to fucking die from brain cancer and have his conscience transferred into a goofy ass robotic body.
Such treatment is able to give the Slayer superhuman abilities, like strength, speed, resistance, endurance, intelligence and, most of all, immortality.
The Sentinels discover that both the Khan Maykr and their beloved Priests are traitors; the Slayer kicks ass some more alongside the Sentinels; the Sentinels get dispersed through the depths of all Hell; the Sentinels all fucking die again; the demons seal the Slayer inside a sarcophagus with the so called Beast Mark on it; the brain cancer guy with robot body finds him during his work in one of the many UAC establishmentts on Mars and hides the Slayer's body from his subordinate Olivia Pierce; who seems to be acting strange about the whole ordeal.
The Slayer gets freed; he gets a new shiny flashy armor to kick some more demon ass on Mars; Hell sends a giant demon with a fucking laser cannon replacing his left arm; the prick gets the ass whooping of a lifetime; the Slayer kicks some more demon ass; he finds a demonic lightsaber; the stupid bitch Olivia gets betrayed by the Dark Lord, who turns her into a giant 300 IQ robot crab.
The slayer fights the crab; the crab takes a massive L; the bastard with brain cancer steals the demonic lightsaber and seals the slayer in a romanian looking ass castle controlled by an AI, which is floating in space and for some fucking reason has the ability to open portals for every corner of the fucking universe.
The Slayer awakens; goes to Earth; once again kicks some demon ass and goes on a crusade to kill the 3 hell Priests: the first is in a fortress guarded by some weak ass demon, the second is in the North Pole guarded by a robot hoverboard demon built inside a factory and the third is still in Taras Nabad guarded by the few Sentinels who stayed loyal to him and an ugly ass gladiator demon with the coolest looking shield ever. The Slayer once again solves every problem by shooting every single fucking thing with some kind magic guns which for some fucking reason don't need to be reloaded.
Once the Priests are all dead he gets kicked out of the Order Of The Sentinels for killing them. He then goes to the UAC headquarters where he recovers the bastard with the brain cancer and then proceeds to kill the coolest demon ever. He then uses a 315 meter long laser cannon to shoot a giant hole on the surface of Mars; he steals the powerhouse of the cannon to use it as a weapon of mass destruction against the demons; he then gets inside another cannon; he gets shot on the surface of Mars; he kills some more demons; he goes to Taras Nabad to recover the hilt of a lightsaber from the rotting corpse of a big ass demon and then gets the blade for the new lightsaber.
The Slayer goes to the Khan Maykr's dying planet to kill everyone; during the slaughter the Khan Maykr is in the middle of a ritual to put some random fucker's heart into the new Icon Of sin, so that she can control it. The Slayer stabs the heart with a dagger‐sized lightsaber, which makes the Icon Of Sin turn into a ruthless beast who only knows wrath, hatred, death and destruction and listens to no one's orders.
The Khan Maykr gets pissed off at the Slayer for contributing to exterminate the population of her planet and for interruptinf the ritual; so she challenges him in a fight to finally kill him; the Slayer is clearly fed up with all her bullshit so he brutally kills her without any kind of remorse.
The Slayer returns to Earth to kill the Icon Of Sin; and he obviously succeeds. He decides to stop the invasion of hell once and for all; he goes to some abandoned castle in the middle of blood swamps to fight demons; he discovers memories of his past as a Sentinel he had forgotten; he invdes Heaven; permanently kills God; steals God's powers; goes to Hell, and uses God's stolen powers to literally revive Satan. All the Sentinels join the Slayer in the fight against the Dark Lord in the final battle against the forces of evil. This time the Sentinels also brought some giant Evangelion looking ass robots equipped with giant lightsaber spears.
While sentinels and demons fight, Satan gets in his armor, which looks like the demonised verision of the Hulkbuster built by Tony Stark, and fights the Doom Slayer only to get killed 15 minutes later. The Slayer then absorbs his powers, the demons all die, and the Slayer takes Satan's place as sovereign of all 3 dimensions.

2023.06.04 00:39 GoGetThatBag Business Gold vs Ink Business Preferred vs cash back card for Travel

I’m trying to maximize my benefits for travel purchases. I primarily use the Amex Business Gold card for 4x points (travel and restaurants are my top 2 spending categories) but would IBP be more valuable? Or, if going the cash back route, what “better” options are available?
I worked some math (below) and decided I need a 4%+ CB on travel card if I’d replace the Business Gold. 1) Is my math right? 2) Do any business cards exists with this?
$100 -> 400p Redeem for Amex travel points @ 75p/$1 (includes 25% points back on selected airline) or 100p/$1 400p = $4-5.33 So worst case scenario, I get $4-$5 back on $100, or 4-5%, if I just redeem with amextravel. Even worse, actually, would be redeeming for charges or at checkout, yielding 2.4% and 2.8%, respectively.
I see Chase IBP has 3x points on travel, so obviously less than Gold, but research says that URs are usually worth more than MRs. Also, “travel” seems to include a lot more than just flights from an airline so I would have more ways to earn 3x. Could someone run the above math with Chase’s redemption rates for pay for charges, at checkout, and in their travel portal?
I’m not considering transfer partners at this time to keep the comparison simple. I know I get more for my points with them, but want to see what my minimum replacement value would be.
Does anyone have both cards? Which one do you prefer and why? Which has given the bigger bang for your buck in terms or redeeming for travel, particularly in their portal?

Autumn 4986, 15 Aoimoth
“Slow down, Squire!” Master Daunas walked around the sixteen Squires. They were all going through the basic motions of knife fighting together, but Shon knew the Weaponsmaster was talking to him specifically. He'd fallen into the rhythm of steel clanging off steel as the eight pairs of Squires went through the practiced strikes of a rehearsed fight. His partner was keeping up, but just barely. If Shon sped up, the boy would fumble, and Shon could disarm him. But that wasn’t the point of this exercise. It wasn’t a sparring match; it was a two man kata. Shon let out a long exhale and slowed down, matching his partner’s pace.
“Sorry,” Kefir, muttered to Shon, “You should try and get Zihler next time. He won’t slow you down.”
Shon arched an eyebrow at Kefir as the two pivoted in unison, spinning but staying together, so they switched places and continued without breaking rhythm. Or that was what was supposed to happen. Kefir stumbled just a little. He still wasn’t very good at quick pivots like that, and knife forms were full of them. Shon slowed down to wait for him to recover, matching his thrust with a counter as rehearsed.
“Don’t give me that look. I know you want to go faster. Zihler’s the most likely to keep... up...” Kefir had to space the last two words as they dodged each other again. More twists and turns he tended to overshoot.
He wasn’t wrong. Shon did want to go faster, wanted to push himself to his limits, and always just a little beyond, but “Speed isn’t the point of this exercise.” Shon said, and Kefir’s brow furrowed. Though if concentrating on Shon’s words or the continued form Shon didn’t know, “It's precision and practice. Keep partnering with Rerves, who's even worse, and you won't improve.”
They slammed together, the hilts of their daggers locking together as they sidestepped in tight circles. Shon could see at least ten different ways he could end a match right here. His left hand was free, as this was a single dagger exercise, and his opponents hardly ever paid attention to his feet. But that wasn’t the point, and Kefir would learn nothing from Shon downing him now, even if it was.
“Thanks,” Kefir spat sarcastically. Shon gave him a purposefully deadpan look in response, and he continued, “You’re the same, though. You won’t get better if you pick the weakest partners.” the two disengaged, jumping back and falling into a ready stance in one motion. Kefir took a heartbeat longer than some of the other boys but didn’t stumble at this speed as he had the last three times they went through the drill.
“I’m better than Zihler…” Shon said, not in pride or arrogance but in truth. When they had first started knife fighting weeks ago, he had partnered with those who seemed to be at the same level as himself or higher. Pushing himself to reach their level and surpass it. Add to that the fact that he often used his free time for more practice, and Shon had jumped to the top of the class as usual only a week into this new weapon.
Shon brought the topic back around to his point, “Practice is practice no matter how fast I go, as long as I have precision.” and, as if to prove his point, the form reached the culminating move, where Shon and Kefir needed to thrust at each other while turning just enough for the blade to pass by their chests. Shon slowed his thrust only at the end, just enough for Kefir to finish his dodge. Adjusting speed in the middle of a strike without pulling it completely wasn't easy, and they both knew it.
That was the end of the kata, and they both stepped back. Kefir looked down at his knife, sighing, “I suck at this, give me a shield or a hammer, and you wouldn’t have to hold yourself back.” he glanced up at Shon and forced a smile he obviously didn’t feel, “Then maybe I could teach you a thing or two…”
Shon nodded, perfectly serious, and when Kefir didn’t seem to understand, he added, “Exactly.”
The bell rang and the other Squires started heading for the weapons rack to return their knives, but Shon held Kefir in place with his eyes. He looked confused, his expression asking the question before his words could, so Shon explained, “You're better at armor and shields than me.”
That actually got a genuine smile from Kefir, “Everyone is better with armor and shields than you, Shon.” Shon humphed but couldn't argue, and Kefir laughed, “You know, if you spent your extra time actually practicing with the stuff you need practice in, instead of the things you're already the best at, you would get better.”
Shon ran his fingers through sweaty hair. It was only two finger widths long but still needed to be cut. He wanted to argue that practicing with the heavy weapons without armor in his free time was the only reason he was still the top in those as well. But instead, he nodded in acquiescence to Kefir’s observation.
“Hey,” Kefir stepped forward and poked Shon with the hilt of his dagger. Even with his thicker winter uniform on, they avoided touching him, “I get what you’re saying. We each have our own strengths and weaknesses. Thank you for trying to help me with mine.” The thanks was genuine this time, now that the frustration of the practice was over, and Shon nodded. Kefir continued, “Why don’t we make a deal? I’ll let you help me catch up to you in this if you let me help you with armor work. Master Daunas wants to get you in plate, but if you can’t even move in banded mail, you’ll never make it in the heavier stuff.”
Shon let his head fall back in frustration but nodded. Kefir laughed and the two returned their daggers without further words. Shon split from the rest of the stragglers in the courtyard, moving towards the bench beside the wall and the barrel for catching rainwater beside it. This deep into autumn, the water was sometimes frozen in the mornings, but Shon preferred it that way. Reaching in, he splashed handfuls of it on the back of his neck. The others would be heading for the hot showers, but with sixteen of them and only ten shower heads, Shon would wait until they were all done before washing properly.
“I’ll meet you after study time!” Kefir called as he walked by to try and reach the showers with the first group. Shon waved without turning around. He knew Kefir was right. He should focus his extra time on improving his weaknesses. But that didn’t mean he had to like it.
***
The mess hall where they had their meals had one long table set in the middle with enough space for fifteen Squires on each side. Around it were set smaller circular tables for the Paladins stationed in Hamerfoss and one larger near the door for the officers. Against one wall was another long table with plates, bowls, and food where they would each gather their meal before finding their seats.
The seats weren’t assigned, but Shon always sat at the farthest end of the Squire’s table, with his left facing the walkway so he wouldn’t bump anyone with his elbow as he ate. No one ever took the spot. It was an unspoken consensus amongst the Squires that that was Shon’s seat. The rest tended to congregate in the middle, talking and poking friendly fun at each other, extending their break into the dinner meal.
Shon took his place and started eating without joining in. They didn’t try to include him most of the time, and he was content to just listen. “Hey, Shon,” Rerves called from down the table, and Shon looked up from his plate to show he was listening, “I hear Kefir’s going to help you with armor tonight. Can I come?” Shon shrugged, turning back to his meal. Rerves went back to his conversation, and dinner continued as usual. The Squires ignoring Shon.
They filtered out of the mess hall as they each finished their dinner at their own pace, some heading to the chapel for prayer and others to the library for study. Shon made his way to the library, pausing in the doorway and debating with himself. If he joined the others at the larger table, they would try and talk to him. They seemed to think it was their duty to include him if he was there. But if he sat alone at the two-man table by the window, they would leave him alone. It meant he wouldn’t be able to ask them questions if one came up, but it also meant they wouldn’t bother him with pointless asides…
Tonight, he joined the study group. The subject they'd started a few weeks ago wasn’t one he had taken to easily, an in-depth history of Gasha province, so he wanted to be able to talk when needed.
It started as soon as he finished the first page, “So Shon, when do you think Master Veon-Zih will be back?”
“Winter Solstice,” Shon answered shortly, rereading the sentence. The others whispered around him about Master Veon-Zih, something about if he would dance with the pretty baker again this year…
“Hey Shon, do you know if Monks train in dancing too?”
Shon placed his finger over the paragraph he'd reached, knowing he would have to reread it after the interruption. He shook his head. When they continued to look at him, he sighed, glaring up at them. This was supposed to be study time… “He learned how after he left the Monastery.”
He reread his paragraph and managed to finish the chapter before running his hand through his hair in frustration at the text. Looking up, he said, “We’ve read about the war between Gasha and Swailand, but this doesn’t say anything about why they went to war in the first place.”
“Fishing rights, I think?” Thom answered, flipping through his own book, “Knowing those Horsa Bast…” he cut off before finishing the curse, glancing at the Paladin acting as librarian, before continuing, “I bet they wanted to extend their fishing to the area around Gasha, and they are just as likely to fight each other as us.”
Rehlien slid a new book Shon’s way, “Here, read this one next. It gets into the justification a little more than that one.” Shon nodded his thanks, taking the book and placing it under the one he was still finishing.
But his question had opened the door to more derailing chatter, “You really like to know the why of things, don’t you, Shon?”
Shon nodded, hoping this talk would at least be relevant, but “You’re like that in etiquette too. That’s probably why you struggle so much.” Shon shrugged. Etiquette didn’t seem to have a point, but that wasn’t what they were supposed to be studying now, “I find some things ‘just are’ because of tradition…” the boy trailed off as Shon glared at him, his words freezing in his throat. When silence had returned, Shon went back to his book. He should've just sat alone.
***
Kefir and Rerves were already waiting in the sparring ring by the time Shon showed up dressed in his banded mail. The armor rubbed uncomfortably around his neck and the thick gambeson underneath bunched at his joints, limiting his range of motion by at least a few inches. It also weighed him down, which he'd managed to convince himself was good for strength training, but was incredibly frustrated by for sparring.
Kefir already had his sword and shield and held an extra bastard sword for him, so Shon went right for the ring, stifling a frustrated sigh as he took the proffered weapon.
Rerves grinned at the look on Shon’s face, saying, “We figured you'd be miserable enough in the armor alone, that we should channel some of Soleil's compassion and let you use your best weapon instead of the hammer.” to which Shon was grateful. Making him practice in the armor with a weapon he still hadn’t mastered would've been adding salt to the wound.
“Let’s do some stretches and warm-ups first.” Kefir started, “Your problem isn’t being afraid to take a hit with the armor,” Rerves laughed out loud, but Kefir continued with only a grin, “It’s in having to adjust your mobility. So let's re-imprint that before we try any sparring.”
They went through stretches, the two of them seeming to match Shon in flexibility only because he was hampered by the armor, then moved on to solo sword forms. Even though the armor was only about thirty-five pounds evenly distributed, Shon still felt sluggish. When they moved on to sparring, Rerves beat him soundly while Kefir watched, tilting his head back and forth like Master Daunas and trying to give advice that didn’t help. Shon could fight, he knew the proper blocks and parries better than they did, but too often he would either not make up for his lack of speed or would overcompensate and swing too hard.
Kefir took his turn, lifting his shield and watching Shon raise his sword to the ready, “Honestly, Shon, I don’t know what to do besides have you practice more and just get used to it.”
“Sometimes that’s all you can do,” Rerves said from the side as he slipped off his helmet. Shon knew they were right in some regards but couldn’t entirely dismiss his frustration at the thought that he was missing something that he needed to learn and not just have beaten into him. He was grateful for his companion’s help but annoyed at their inability to teach.
Rerves gave the order to "Lay on!" and Shon and Kefir engaged. Shon could predict Kefir's moves, could practically see them in his mind's eye, but barely reacted in time, his arm not bending as far or fast as he wanted it to. He gritted his teeth, glaring at the other Squire, trying to sidestep around but moving too slow compared to Kefir, who just needed to turn in place. Shon took a step back and planted his feet. If he could force Kefir to make the larger motions, then perhaps he could focus on redirecting the boy’s attacks.
Kefir hesitated. Shon was most dangerous when he stood his ground, and they both knew it. The hesitation just gave Shon more time to try and strategize. Not that it had helped at all before. Maybe if he could somehow slow Kefir down, or focus on trapping his weapon, then it wouldn’t matter that Shon wasn’t as fast as he would be without the damn armor. Kefir tested Shon’s guard with a few half-hearted attacks that Shon deflected, waiting. When the other Squire finally committed fully, Shon let go of his sword with his left hand, twisted to dodge, and grabbed Kefir’s sword arm.
Just stop. Stop long enough for me to hit you… Kefir tried to pull away but couldn’t. Despite the poor grip Shon had with the thick gloves that were part of the armor, the two Squires seemed lashed together. Kefir twisted his shoulders so he could lift his shield to deflect Shon’s oncoming attack, but his feet didn’t move. His eyes went wide, and his shield came up barely in time to hit Shon’s sword, the tip still reaching over to clang off Kefir’s helm with a glancing blow.
Kefir fell backward and Shon, still clinging to his arm, was pulled on top of him. The boy yelled, and Shon rolled, letting go of Kefir and hearing something like glass breaking over the clanging of armor and screaming of his fellow. Shon rolled to absorb the shock of the fall and twisted to find Kefir on his back, his knees still straight and his boots stuck to the ground. Encased in ice.
The ice climbed up his boots to his shins, but Kefir was gripping his arm, trying to pull more ice from where Shon had been holding him. It continued to grow, soon encasing his hand and sword hilt. Rerves rushed forward, trying to help pry the sword free while the ice on his legs grew past his boots and under his greaves. Kefir screamed again, in pain and fear.
The Paladins on the wall began yelling, their leader taking command, sending some to help the boys and others to run for the fortress. Shon watched in horror as Kefir’s legs and arm were slowly encased in ice, his lips trembling and turning blue. He would be covered soon, Shon knew it, could picture it happening, like a waking nightmare. It would trap his brother Squire and anyone else touching it…
The ice started clawing at Rerves fingers, trying to gain hold and freeze him too.
“What in all the hells?!” Master Daunas showed up with a gaggle of Paladins and the Cleric, who all fell around the boys. Some took out their belt knives and tried to break the ice apart; others began to chant spells to either melt the ice or keep Kefir warm.
Master Daunas searched above the throng for answers and, finding Shon, cursed. He ran around the larger group, grabbing Shon by the arm and wrenching him away, practically dragging him across the courtyard towards the fortress proper. Someone called out in triumph as Shon reached the fortress door and Daunas forced him through it.
What had happened? Had they freed Kefir? Would he be alright? What happened?!
Daunas was still cursing as he slammed the door and spun on Shon, who stared blankly through the Weaponmaster. Panic, he was trying so hard not to panic. Was trying to figure out what had happened, trying to play through the entire thing again, picturing it from outside his body. Was the ice what had allowed him to hold on to Kefir? Was it still climbing up Kefir's legs? Was that why the older Squire wasn’t able to pull back and block properly? Had Shon...
“Calm down, boy.” Daunas reached for Shon’s shoulders but pulled back a moment later, shaking his hands and cursing as they reddened from the cold, “Breathe, boy. Look at me, think warm thoughts.”
Think warm thoughts? What did that even mean? Shon found Daunas’s eyes and saw the Weaponmaster scared for the first time, “Breathe, slow and steady, like old man V taught you. You need to control your energy…” his lips were pale and trembling, his breath coming out in a cloud before him. had it been that cold outside? Shon couldn’t feel it...
Shon closed his eyes and breathed. Control his energy… He pulled himself in, finding his center and gathering around it, “That’s it, boy, like that.” Shon breathed in his energy, his ki, holding it in his gut, storing it for later when he could use it to focus a strike and give it more power, just like Master Veon-Zih had taught him. And just like Master had taught him, he tried to let go of his worries, to clear his mind, if only for now.
Kefir would be alright, almost every adult here could cast healing spells, and at least half of them were with him now. It was okay. Shon could relax, let go, calm down… Suddenly exhausted, Shon nearly collapsed right there in the hallway. Daunas caught him, slowly lowering him to the stones.
Shon could feel himself slipping into unconsciousness, but not fast enough to miss Master Daunas’s last curse, “Damn it, boy, why did you have to be a Sorcerer?”
***
“He has to go to the Mages Guild.” Major General Davies Selibra, Paladin head of Hamerfoss, stated to those gathered in his office. It was a simple room containing two sets of closed cabinets on either side of a large desk facing the door with two seats positioned in front of it. Shon sat in one of those seats, his head hanging and fists clenched tightly in his lap.
Master Daunas slammed his palm down on the desk. He seemed too agitated to sit, or perhaps he just didn’t want to sit next to Shon, who was radiating cold like a fire radiated heat, “We can’t, Selibra! He’s the most promising fighter I’ve ever trained. He’ll lose too much time.” the Weaponmaster's words puffed out as white fog from his lips.
Major General Selibra sat behind his desk and rubbed his temples, “It’s the law Daunas, he either needs to get a clearance or be sealed.”
“Can’t be a Paladin with the tattoo…” Smith Nangran muttered from his position leaning on the door. Shon was too focused on his predicament to wonder why the Smith was even here. A thin layer of ice began to form at his feet.
“It’s the law…” Selibra said again, weary, “If he had awakened sooner, he might have been able to get his clearance before training, but…”
Daunas threw his hands into the air, bellowing, “It takes years to get a clearance. If they even let him. Those Mages would rather just mark the boy up and be done with it!”
A sealing tattoo. They would want to block the magic. Seal it away in his body where it couldn’t hurt anyone. Kefir had suffered severe frostbite as well as a broken ankle. Lucky for him, he was surrounded by divine conduits and was fine, but what if Shon lost control again? Who would the ice entomb? Master Veon-Zih? Innocent citizens he was supposed to protect? Shon’s nails dug furrows into his palms as he clenched his fists tighter. The ice crawled up the legs of his chair and crystalized on the backs of his hands.
The adults continued to talk around him, “The law is clear, Daunas. The magic either needs to be trained or sealed. There are no exceptions.” The law never made exceptions. It’s what kept everything running at top proficiency. Shon admired that… and understood it, as even now he couldn't control the sorcerous ice.
Shon tried to slow his breathing, relax his hands. The ice cracked over his fingers as he forced them out of their fists. It was responding to his emotions, his fear, and horror at what he'd done. What he was. If he could just pull it in, stifle the emotions feeding it, then the magic wouldn't be able to control him…
Ice continued to inch up the chair, and Selibra rubbed his hands together to warm them. They'd been pointedly and purposely ignoring the winter-like cold since bringing Shon to the office.
“Tattoos aren’t the only way to seal magic…” Nangran stated from the door. Daunas and Selibra stopped arguing, and Shon’s head shot up. He turned slowly to watch the Smith who combed absently at his beard, “Law says sorcerer magic needs to be trained or sealed, doesn’t say how.”
“I know the law Nangran,” Selibra still sounded defeated. “A council of Mages, including one of the rank Archmage, must determine if a Sorcerer is capable of controlling his or her power. If they determine the power is too great a risk to the kingdom, then said power will be made unable to manifest. Sealed.” the Major General recited, most likely for Shon’s benefit. Shon's heart pounded in his chest, and the fires that lit the room dimmed.
“What are you suggesting?” Daunas asked Nangran curiously. The smith only talked when necessary, using grunts and nods instead of words whenever possible. That was probably why Shon liked him so much. It also meant he wouldn’t have contradicted Selibra unless he had a reason.
“Know a guy. Used to make sealing items for the guild…” Nangran said with a shrug, as though Shon’s future didn’t hinge on his point, “Owes me a favor…”
“You’re not talking about that mad hermit who comes barging in here once or twice a year, are you?” Daunas asked, looking stunned.
Nangran nodded with a confirming hum. “Still Archmage in good standing…”
The Weaponmaster looked ecstatic, shouting, “Nangran, you’re a genius!” he slammed his hands down on the desk again, breath puffing out in thick clouds as his excitement grew. Nangran grunted.
Daunas turned back to the Major General, who actually looked intrigued. Shon’s heart tried to beat its way out of his chest. “This is it, Selibra! This Archmage can make the boy a sealing item. I’m sure the Temple will vouch for him. He’s our top Squire.” Shon was still too terrified to feel proud of the compliment and watched Major General Selibra with wide desperate eyes. Ice started forming on his hands again, looking like clawed talons.
“The Mages Guild hasn’t given out sealing stones for generations…” Selibra hummed, and Shon barely stopped the desperate whine before it could escape, his fingernails drawing blood on his palms as he balled them into fists again, breaking the ice claws. “but we can at least try.” Selibra finished, focusing on Shon, his brown eyes still looking sad, “Are you sure you want this, Shon? As a Paladin, you won’t be able to train with your elemental magic unti-”
“Yes, Sir!” Shon shouted, leaning forward in his seat and breaking the ice off its legs. He fell back a moment later, embarrassed by his outburst. More quietly, he said again, “Yes, Sir. I don’t want this magic. I want to be a Paladin.” more than anything in his entire life, he'd wanted to be a Paladin…
“Very well,” Major General Selibra stood, resting his fingertips on his desk. Speaking as if to himself, he muttered, “Perhaps this is a sign from Hengist.” looking up, he addressed Nangran, “Tomorrow you will take Squire Shon to this Archmage friend of yours. Gods willing, he will be able to seal the sorcerer magic without hindering his divine capabilities.” he failed to hide a shiver from the cold.

Her candles burned hot and bright, flickering wildly as She paced around Her little room. Something was happening in Her tower. There were far too many people with strangers' voices out Her window and beyond Her door.
Brom and Ran continued to visit, but they wouldn’t answer Her questions, wouldn’t take Her for samples, or to see Her treasures. The first made Her angry, the second gave Her energy, and the last scared Her enough to stop asking questions. What if they took Her books again? They hadn’t given Her a reason She couldn’t see Her treasures, so maybe they would soon… maybe tomorrow...
***
“Tomorrow,” Morndancer stated as Shaloon let herself into his room. The transfer preparations had taken months. MONTHS! They were Mages. No. Greater than Mages. They were Warlocks. And yet, everything still took far too long. They could instantly communicate with allies across the kingdom but still had to spend time making the proper arrangements. They could travel miles in a blink but still had to painstakingly pack every book and file, disassemble and disenchant the golems guarding the tower over days and even weeks. If it had been a true emergency -if they'd been found- they could've destroyed everything, vanishing all evidence of their presence and research. But the Master Archmages had forbidden it in this case.
“The western Talon is ready to receive us,” Shaloon confirmed, “What of the subjects? Archmage Yarna has no interest in animal husbandry..."
“The Firewyrm is all she is interested in. It is the only reason she agreed to take us.” Morndancer sat on his bed and stared at the pseudodragon perched on his desk, its leathery wings half furled and its tail twitching over the side of the desk, “I will handle the animal subjects tomorrow. Just make sure you are ready to open the portal out when I am done.” she could only open one portal a day, sometimes two but it would leave her incapacitated for at least a day after.
“Tomorrow then,” Shaloon confirmed, leaving him alone with his running mind and the little pretend dragon, that seemed to stare through his skin and into his soul.
***
Shon couldn’t sleep. Once again, his entire future hung on what would happen tomorrow. And just like the divine test and the road to Hamerfoss, there was nothing he could do to speed up the process. It was out of his hands. Out of his control. Just like the ice now clouding the window and the frost freezing the blankets to the mattress.
He tapped the blank page of his open journal with his pencil. The images running through his mind were the last he wanted to solidify on paper. He tried drawing something else… Kefir smiling warmly at him for the second thank you. Rerves leaning forward and shouting to him across the dinner table. The study group conversing in whispers instead of studying…
He wrote about it all between the drawings but everything that happened after pushed at his mind, the scenes forming in his vision. Shon drew Kefir again, lying on his back and tugging at the ice forming on his sword arm. Then a group scene with the Paladins falling around him, their faces focused, and hands glowing with spells to try and save him… Master Daunas’s scared eyes as he ordered Shon to ‘think warm thoughts...'
With two pages full of various sketches and commentary, Shon dropped his pencil and rested his head on his desk. Why? Was this why he was so cold to the touch? Sorcerers were rare; those with ice power were the rarest even amongst them. Should they have noticed something was wrong sooner? Would Hengist really accept someone like him? Chose a Sorcerer to be one of his extensions in Daanlin?
Shon closed his eyes, breathing slowly and trying not to cry. If they forced him to go to the Mages Guild, he would never be able to fight again. He was sure of it. All his hard work and dedication. All those years of disciplined practice, gone in one instance where he lost control. Where he almost killed a friend.
Everything he was, everything he would be, hinged on the following day. “Tomorrow…” Shon whispered into the dark, his candle finally flickering to die in the cold.

2023.06.03 19:01 TonyChanYT We KNOW that the whole creation has been groaning

Romans 8:
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
The following is from GratefulDisciple:
What is the source of knowledge? Is it written in the OT? Any specific verse?
First, as to the meaning of the phrase οἴδαμεν γὰρ ὅτι (“for we know that”). Douglas Moo, in his commentary to Romans, said the phrase is:
to introduce a commonly recognized truth (see also 2:2; 3:19; 7:14; 8:28), and it may be that he sees the violence and disasters in nature as evidence of the “yearning” he speaks of in this verse.
Joseph Fitzmyer, in his Anchor Yale Bible Commentary to Romans said that Paul owed this knowledge to the OT and to the intertestamental literature:
Paul alludes to Gen 3:17–19 and 5:29, where the earth has been cursed because of Adam’s sinful transgression. But he is also thinking of the OT promises about “a new heaven and a new earth,” the apocalyptic promises in Trito-Isaiah (Isa 65:17; 66:22). In intertestamental literature such promises were transferred to the messianic age: 1 Enoch 45:4–5/Chapter_45) (the earth will be transformed for the upright along with the Chosen One); Jub. 4:26; 2 Apoc. Bar. 31:5–32:6; 4 Ezra 7:11, 30–32, 75. This notion is also found in Rev 21:1 and 2 Pet 3:13 in the NT and is echoed in later rabbinic literature (see Str-B 3.247–55): the world, created for humanity and the service of it, was drawn into Adam’s ruin; the blessings given to him (fertility of the soil, fecundity of trees, brilliance of stars, friendliness of animals, limitation of insects) were all lost because Eve gave Adam (= humanity) to eat of the forbidden fruit. Paul is tributary to such Jewish thinking. He realizes that through Adam came not only sin and death (5:12–14) but “bondage to decay” and the “slavery of corruption,” which affect all material creation, even apart from humanity (8:19–23).

2023.06.03 16:46 troublepickinganame Found a cool Token and spent my day doing some research about it. (0xGamble - 1UCK)

1. if number is divisible by 420: Transaction address wins 2. if number generated is divisible by 69: The house wins 3. If number is divisible by 1337: pot is burned
When doing the math, the odds of
1. Winning the pot are ~0.23 % 2. The pot going to the house are ~1.4 % 3.
No Rug, no BS, no big marketing talks about use cases and innovations. Just a simple gambling coin with solid code (seriously, check for yourselves). Its simplicity is also its beauty. Genius move: Turning the coin into the casino itself removes counterparty risk associated with third party gambling sites. This could actually become something big.

2023.06.03 13:07 NikNakMuay Nightmare with Pearson

Hi Everyone
Just thought I'd give you a heads up. I'm dyslexic and almost ready to take my exam. I applied for accommodations before setting my exam date. First mistake I made was applying online through the AWS certification portal. The accomodation letter stated that I needed to call Pearson to set the exam. So I did that, I explained that I already booked but I misread the instructions (insert shocked Pikachu face here) and booked online instead of calling in. Can I either transfer the accomodation onto the booking or do I need to cancel and reschedule.
"No, sir you need to cancel and reschedule, but we can't find a record of your accomodation approval."
Really weird considering I'm looking at it. Anyway...
"Sir you need to contact AWS directly so that you can cross reference your accomodation approval and then we can confirm it."
So I do that, and sure as the sun rises every day they don't have a record of my accommodation approval because why would they?
So now I'm stuck in a pointless conversation with AWS certification support over the fact that Pearson is pushing me from pillar to post with this and no one is prepared to help me out. So now my exam has been cancelled and I have to wait to hear back from AWS before I can even think about rebooking.
If you're planning on applying for accomodations or have done, please make sure they have a record of it and that it's linked to your exam.

2023.06.03 10:23 Cloudkracker Warframe Lore - What types of powers do the Operators have?

We know that the children of the Zariman were all given supernatural abilities from the Void, although what are these abilities? I know there's abilities like the magic hand beam, but what about the more speculative abilities? And what exactly happens when the Operator performs these abilities?
Canon abilities
Void Beam - Your will focused into a killed beam. A concentrated beam of Void energy is projected from the Operator's hand(s). The characteristics of the beam can be altered by Amps. The Beam's 'firing mode' can be changed to operate like a grenade launcher, shotgun, or semi-auto rifle.
Void Blast - (I know it's removed, but I'm still counting it.) The Operator shoots their hands forward, causing a short-lived shockwave. The burst can be charged to release a ball of fire (Madurai's Flame Blast), or held to create a frontal shield (Vazarin's Gaudian Shell).
Void Mode - Become a living shadow of your corporeal self. The Operator crouches down, erasing their presence from reality. While in Void Mode, they are invisible and invulnerable, but are still able to interact with the physical world.
I believe that this may be related to the Rift, a sub-dimension between reality and the Void. When entering Void Mode, the Operator may be temporarily entering the Rift, allowing them to remain hidden from view. Despite entering a different plane, the Operator is still there, and can still interact with and be detected by the physical world.
Void Sling - The Operator creates a small endpoint a distance away and pulls themselves towards it, traveling through a different plane of reality and teleporting a small distance away in the blink of an eye.
Speculative abilities
Clairvoyance - By touching objects of importance, such as the Lotus' helmet, the Operator is able to view past or present events, such as the siege of Lua during the Old War (Erra), and the death of Umbra Excalibur (The Sacrifice). The Operator may also be able to learn about the construction of special items just by touching them, like the Paracesis (The Maker).
Astral Projection - Mainly used while performing Clairvoyance, the Operator is able to use the Void to attend events that take place in different locations in an incorporeal form, such as witnessing the re-construction of the Paracesis (Chimera Prologue), and the meetings between Erra and Natah (The Maker, and Erra).
Proxy Portal - The Operator is able to use an advanced form of Transference where their chosen Warframe can become a 'portal' of sorts, allowing the Operator to travel from the Orbiter to where their frame is. When fatally injured, the Operator is forced back into their Warframe, causing a disturbance in their Transference signal, and causing the Transference Static debuff.
Things I Noticed
Relation to emotion/memory - The Operator's powers appear to be tied to their emotions and memory. Since the Void is a realm of emotion, this theory could be true. Conceptual Embodiment is basically the manifestation of emotion through the power of the Void, so perhaps the Operator is able to fuel their powers with different emotions or desires. A desire strong enough to defend or hurt channels Void Beam, while a desire to not be seen and to be hidden manifests as Void mode.
Presumed Weaknesses
Poor emotional state/memory - In the War Within, the Operator temporarily loses their powers. Whenever they attempt to perform Void Beam, it backfires. This may be due to the Elder Queen's Continuity, which would cause some emotional imbalance, and lead to the temporary loss of the Operator's powers.
There's also the new powers the Operator receives; Blast, Sling, and Void Mode. Each is acquired by unlocking one of the Operator's memories aboard the Zariman. These were all traumatic memories, hidden and locked away by Margulis through the use of Transference. By 'losing' these memories and the feelings they cause, the Operator loses their more advanced abilities.
Void Energy - As stated by Quin in AoZ "Only Void can destroy Void". Since the Operator has Void powers, then it can be presumed that Void energy can be used as a possible offense tactic when attacking the Operator. We can also see this in the New War when Ballas stabs the Operator with the Paracesis, a sword that channels Void energy. By stabbing the Operator with it, Ballas is able to neutralize them and banish the Operator to the Void.
Continuity - The Elder Queen was able to start the Continuity ritual on the Operator. However, due to outside interference, the ritual failed. It can then be presumed that a successful ritual may result in the 'defeat' of the Operator.

2023.06.03 01:42 troublepickinganame Found a cool Token and spent my day doing some research about it. (0xGamble - 1UCK)

Some facts: 0xGamble (ticker: 1UCK) - max supply: 123456789 - no minting, no backdoors, burn included on every TX - launched 4 days ago - code checks out
As the name implies, 0xGamble is a gambling) token. Here’s how it works: - 1% tax on every TX - 50% burned, 50% goes into the ‚pot‘ - every TX generates a random number internally - if the generated number is divisible by 69, the ‚house‘ (aka dev) wins the ‚pot‘ - if the number is divisible by 420, the guy making the transaction wins the ‚pot‘ (congrats!) - if the number is divisible by 1337, the ‚pot‘ is burned forever
To put it simple: - buy/sell/transfer - chance to win the pot - hold - tokens get burned, price go up - provide liquidity - liquidity rewards + tokens get burned, price go up
Nobody knows if and when anyone (the ‚house‘ included) will win the pot.
Let’s look back at those facts: 1. if number is divisible by 420: Transaction address wins 2. if number generated is divisible by 69: The house wins 3. If number is divisible by 1337: pot is burned
When doing the math, the odds of 1. Winning the pot are ~0.23 % 2. The pot going to the house are ~1.4 % 3.
What does it mean? In my opinion, this is one of the most honest tokens I have ever seen.
Where do I buy this coin? You can get it on PancakeSwap. This is the contract address: 0x30016A1764C93EEdCCbEE5E1b3835F191c6f4050
TL;DR: No-Bullshit gambling token playing a numbers game every transaction. Better chances than regular slots. Code checks out, math checks out. This could be big. You’re still early for this one.

2023.06.03 00:32 knightcrusader Was playing the cashback game but looking at travel now... looking for recommendations

Since my wife and I separated, I am have been thinking about doing some traveling since she never wanted to. I was strictly paying the cashback game for years, but now I have been looking into the options available to me through my existing cards and accumulated rewards, most specifically with my Sapphire Preferred. I'm really trying to not open anything new right now and just using what I already have.
I got the Sapphire Preferred last May specifically for the $800 SUB and was going to convert it to to a OG Freedom once the AF shows up, but seeing how I currently have a total of 265,123 points between it and my two other Freedoms, I think it will make way more sense to keep the card as is for the 1.25cpp and the $50 hotel credit in the next year.
Now, I don't care much for flying, but I love road trips with friends and family, so I will be mostly be redeeming my points on lodging and probably rental cars if I drive clear across the country.
In my case, is my best bet just booking things through the Chase travel portal, or are there better partners to transfer points to? I remember Hyatt being one everyone here used to talk about, but honestly I probably would get basic accommodations at like Motel 6's and what not. I like seeing places, not stay inside a hotel room so I really don't see the need in spending a lot of money on a resort hotel or something like that.
I appreciate any recommendations for my situation that anyone might have. Thanks.

2023.06.02 22:17 downvoteking4042 Did United really devalue points that much?

I can’t see a point to transferring from UR to United anymore, or the point in keeping my new United card beyond SUB. It’s simply cheaper to book through the Chase portal. Points and cash and both significantly higher directly on United. Kind of pondering the idea of switching back to C1 so I can book whatever I want and purchase erase, but that’s another story for another post. What gives?

Hi everyone, I’m a perspective transfer student who got a SGR request on my portal. My finals finished today and I got all As. However, my ‘unofficial grades’ won’t be updated on my transcript until next week. Can I send me grades from Canvas as unofficial or should I wait til next week?
