https://archive.is/iC6ab#selection-31.60-31.72 CEO of Pulte Capital Partners Advocates For Direct Registration For GameStop Shares
Pulte is one of just a handful of institutional figures who has been publicly advocating for GameStop investors to directly register their shares.
Bernard Zambonin deleted on May 29, 2023 around 7:00 AM EDT Over the past several quarters, many
GameStop shareholders have chosen to register their shares with a transfer agent. Notable among them is Bill Pulte, philanthropist and CEO of Pulte Capital Partners, who has made plenty of noise on the subject via his Twitter account.
So far, Pulte has been the exception, not the rule. Millions of GameStop shares have been directly registered via DRS, but this movement has been powered by smaller, retail shareholders. Pulte, on the other hand, is a larger, institutional investor.
Who is Pulte?
William (Bill) Pulte Jr is the CEO of Pulte Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on building products. He is the grandson of billionaire William Pulte, a famous real estate developer and the founder of PulteGroup (PHM), which is one of the largest homebuilding companies in the US. Pulte is also a very influential philanthropist; he has also gained notoriety on Twitter for donating significant sums to causes advocated for by his followers.
Pulte has been a popular figure among GameStop's shareholder community, too, but not just because he has disclosed that he
owns GameStop stock. His connection with GME shareholders started after he gave his opinion regarding GameStop's situation to the business consulting firm BCG (Boston Consulting Group).
In early 2022, the consulting group filed a
lawsuit against GameStop, claiming that the company owes about $30 million in unpaid fees. The retailer hired BCG in 2019 to help it develop a business recovery strategy.
GameStop's president, Ryan Cohen, responded to the lawsuit via an irreverent tweet. Pulte, also via his Twitter account, responded to Cohen by sharing his experience with BCG in 2016 via their consultation with Pulte Homes. Since then, the CEO of Pulte Capital Partners has gone on to become a popular figure supporting the mission of GameStop shareholders.
What is DRS and why does it matter to GameStop?
The
Direct Registration System (DRS) is a service that has been around since the 1990s. It allows investors to hold their shares through a transfer agent, rather than using a brokerage firm or bank. Rarely used by typical market participants, it has been a popular option for GameStop shareholders since mid-2021. That’s because, via direct registration, GameStop investors have found a way to keep their shares away from brokerages and, by extension, short sellers. Indeed, one of the main reasons investors have been using DRS is the fact that, unlike brokerages, transfer agents cannot lend shares to short sellers to bet against them. In theory, if enough retail investors joined the DRS, the share pool available to short sellers would shrink, potentially significantly. This, in turn, would result in higher borrowing rates for short sellers. In addition, many shareholders have also chosen to keep their shares away from brokerages to avoid trading restrictions, as occurred at the height of GME’s short squeeze with Robinhood. Some investors are also wary of brokerages due to what they claim is a lack of transparency in market trading structures.
To date, about 76 million GameStop shares have been
registered directly with GME’s transfer agent. Over the past several quarters, GameStop has reported on the number of GME shares held under direct registration. This 76 million number implies that 25% of the company's total outstanding shares are directly registered.
Pulte as an advocate of GameStop's DRS movement
While DRS is legitimately used to manage stock ownership, it is not often discussed on Wall Street; it is seen as a “back-end system” that operates largely behind the scenes. So far, Pulte is one of the few – if not the only – reputable executives to speak out on the DRS movement among GameStop shareholders. On May 17th, Pulte tweeted that he had also directly registered his GameStop. Although he did not disclose the number of shares and how much he paid for them, the fact that the CEO of Pulte Capital Partners is engaged in this topic has been very well received by the GameStop shareholder communities.
Pulte's GME share position coupled with his advocacy for DRS may prove to be important influences on retail GameStop shareholders going forward.

2023.05.29 15:06 Mini_Tobi77 The Swordsman's Promise
The sun set over the peaceful village of Azura, casting it in golden and orange hues. The wind whispered through the narrow streets, carrying an air of tranquility. Amidst it all, a modest wooden house stood out, sheltering the young Hiro and his father, Takeshi.
Hiro was an ordinary boy with dark hair and curious eyes, always drawn to the mysterious aura of tales about heroes and grand battles. His greatest idol and inspiration was his father, a skilled swordsman known throughout the village. Takeshi, with his imposing stance and gentle smile, had taught Hiro the secrets of swordsmanship since he could first grasp a blade in his small hands.
On a fateful day, when the sky was grey with worry, the village was invaded by a group of ruthless criminals. The defenseless people cowered as homes were pillaged, and fear spread like wildfire. Takeshi, not hesitating to protect those he loved, led the villagers against the invaders.
Hiro, witnessing his father's bravery, felt a mix of pride and apprehension. He knew that despite his sword skills, Takeshi was also a loving and compassionate man. His heart ached at the thought of the imminent danger his father faced.
Hours passed, but Takeshi did not return. The void Hiro felt at that moment was overwhelming, a piercing pain that seemed to burn in his chest. The worst nightmare became a reality when, after the battle, a messenger arrived in the village with devastating news: Takeshi had been declared dead, his body not found.
Tears welled up in Hiro's eyes as his soul mourned the sudden loss. His father, his hero, was gone. A whirlwind of emotions engulfed him, from overwhelming sadness to impotent anger. But deep within his shattered heart, a promise took shape.
That night, as moonlight bathed the village in its gentle glow, Hiro found himself in a moment of solemn introspection. Seated in front of the fireplace, he took hold of his father's sword, trembling hands gripping it tightly as flashes of their moments together flooded his mind.
Tears streamed down young Hiro's face as a bittersweet smile formed on his lips. He remembered a sunny day when he and his father trained together. Hiro shook his head, wiping away the tears with the sleeve of his garment.
"I promise, Father," Hiro whispered with determined voice. "I will become the greatest swordsman in the world. I will honor your name and protect those who cannot protect themselves."
A gentle breeze passed through the slightly open window, as if his father acknowledged the made promise. Hiro felt a surge of courage and determination course through his body, fueling his resolve.
Then, a memory surfaced in his mind, as if Takeshi was there, sharing a moment of joy and pride with his son. The image of his father, laughing with tenderness, resonated in his soul, further strengthening his resolve.
With his heart filled with promises and memories, Hiro closed his eyes and held the sword firmly. He knew the journey would be arduous, and many challenges awaited him. Yet, propelled by his love for his father and the desire to make the world a better place, he was willing to face any obstacle that came his way.
And this, the journey of young Hiro, the determined swordsman, was about to begin.

2023.05.29 15:04 superblyfeatured I read and ranked every(ish) book on the Target BookTok shelf so that you don't have to!
| https://preview.redd.it/53jclghr8t2b1.jpg?width=678&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abd723004b09f75174d8b4f6aadfa2966daf4db8 Just kidding, of course you want to read all the romance novels! But if you're wondering which might be better suited to your tastes, I ranked them! I also noted if they were romance or not, since a couple don’t quite fit the genre. Some notes: - Let's begin with the elephant in the room - almost 20% of the books are by Colleen Hoover. This begs many questions. Does Target think Colleen Hoover books are so popular that they will fly off the shelf, leaving them with empty shelves? Did Ms. Hoover's people strike a deal with Target (or Satan) to guarantee such a spot? I'm sure we could all pick 7 books we are surprised didn't make the cut (Do Emily Henry and Target have beef?), yet there are 2 entire shelves of Hoover. At any rate, I started with the Hoover section with It Ends With Us. I don't read back covers because I hate spoilers, but I saw that this was tagged as romance and dug in. Fuck, man. I read it all in a day. I cried the whole time. I didn't sleep for more than single hour periods for 3 days after that. I read one paragraph, not even one of the more haunting ones, to my husband and he started crying. I have to acknowledge that this book kept me reading, left a huge impact on me, made me think, and was genuinely well-written. With that in mind, fuck you, Colleen, no one makes me feel my feelings and gets away with it! I did not read any more of her books. The trust is gone.
- After the Hoover snafu, I learned to skim Amazon reviews. The word that came up over and over again for Little Life was "tragic." I just do not have space for that after what Ms. Hoover did to me. Maybe some other time.
- Unfortunately, I don't do graphic novels. Heartstoppers hit the chopping block. I tried very briefly, but I couldn't get through the first section. It looks adorable and I hear the story is charming. It did inspire me to watch the Netflix series.
- The above photo was taken AFTER I started this challenge, so some of the books are different. The one I used for reference had many of the books missing, so it isn’t as cute.
Ok, now for the spoiler-free countdown! - Neon Gods - I don't know how ACOTAR only gets 2 of its books on this shelf, but yet we are treated to the entire Neon Gods series. I love smut, I love Hades and Persephone, this should have been a no brainer. Unfortunately, I made it about 75% through this book and didn't see any magic. This could have been fine, plenty of mythology based stories manage to still be interesting without the powers; however, for me, I didn't find anything that compelled me to read further.
Is it romance? Probably, I didn't see if there was a HEA. Do I recommend it? If you like BDSM and the mafia. People who aren’t me seem to really vibe with this one, so I’m an odd duck I guess. - Gleanings - I tried reading Scythe years ago. It was the book that made me realize that I pretty much only want romance novels in my life. It was an interesting concept, but left me dry. I don't have the patience in me to read the entire Scythe series in order to get to this one. So, I technically didn’t read it, but I feel like it probably is similar to the first of the series.
Is it romance? No. Someone go back in time and make me check first. Do I recommend it? Please comment your opinion if you've read more than the first book! - The Cheat Sheet - A cute read. Friends to romance, fake dating. I didn't think the author really did anything terribly interesting with the trope that I haven't seen before, but it made for a relaxing afternoon to read. I wish there had been more actual conflict in getting to the HEA, but that's my taste. I liked the relationship between the football players. It was the only book not on my Libby or on Kindle Unlimited, so maybe consider that.
Is it romance? Yes, ma'am. Do I recommend it? If you want a light, easy read. - The Unhoneymooners - I don't think there was anything that was particularly memorable about this one. The characters were fine, the plot was fine. I was annoyed with how co-dependent the FMC and her sister were, but other than that, nothing really stood out.
Is it romance? Yep. Do I recommend it? If you have a complicated sister relationship, I guess. - The Silent Patient - Not even a touch romantic, so it never stood much of a chance. I did enjoy the twist at the end and didn't see it coming at all. I have a hard time loving a book if I don't love the main character, so this one was tough for me. It was fairly enjoyable.
Is it romance? Almost certainly not. Do I recommend it? If you like mysteries I would give it a try. - The Good Girl Complex - This is another neutral book to me. I think it advertises itself clearly as a good girl/bad boy book, and I suppose I'm not really into that kind of thing. I did like the dog.
Is it romance? Yes. Do I recommend it? If it's available on Libby or KU. - I Just Haven't Met You Yet - I liked a lot of the themes of this book, but the characters didn't resonate with me. The descriptions of the area were lovely. I think this one was more on the comedy side of the romantic comedy, so maybe it's for a different audience. I do really like British humor, so I'm surprised I didn't like this more.
Is it romance? Yeah. Do I recommend it? If you want British comedy with a side of romance. - Funny You Should Ask - Spoiler tags bc I have a lot of feelings. I enjoyed reading this book, I just wanted it to give me... more.
The main character is a writer, which I feel like is a difficult concept to pull off since it's obviously a very common FMC profession. The idea that the FMC cared about her reputation as a writer as a consequence of her romantic actions was a concept I haven't read about before, but I'm not really sure I cared about it. I think the book got its title from the fact that, as a journalist, the FMC has to ask a lot of questions. It felt a little gimmicky to me. I just feel like there were so many elements to this story that really could have gone places, but didn't. It was also a bit redundant. The structure of the book made it so the content was a little redundant and robbed it of some much needed suspense. The author clearly has a unique voice and I hope to read something else by her that is more up my alley. Is it romance? Sure. Do I recommend it? If it's available on Libby right now, sure. - The Atlas Six - The reason the challenge took so long! The audiobook and ebook were on hold at Libby for months and months. I tried to listen on audiobook, but the vocabulary was quite sophisticated. The ebook was much more my speed. The beginning of the book was particularly suspenseful and intriguing. I loved how deeply the author explored every single character and how their powers informed them. She kept me guessing. The only reason this isn't higher is because it was a little more about magical theories and thought experiments than I care for. Call me old fashioned, but I like my magic to be a bit more razzle dazzle and a bit less philosophical.
Is it romance? No. There's more romance than Scythe for sure, but it's tangential to the plot. Do I recommend it? If you love fantasy, go for it. If you don't, this wouldn't be the fantasy book I'd start with. - The Deal - When I first read this book, I thought to myself that it was a pretty run of the mill romance. I can tell you months later that I'm still thinking about how much I liked the MMC. So charming. I think there were so many layers to the themes and characters, and I enjoyed it. It felt believable and cozy. I read much of the rest of the series while I waited for the Atlas Six!
Is it romance? Totes. Do I recommend it? So lovely, of course I recommend it. - Hook, Line, and Sinker - Holy shit, I loved this book. I've been noticing that others prefer the previous novel in the series, but I'm all about this one. I found the characters more relatable and the realities of meeting estranged family members more realistic. I loved that it used the first novel of the series to set up a slow burn for this couple, but condensed much of the burning quickly so that I didn't have to be in agony. The MMC was exactly my brand of steamy. The friends to lovers dynamic was satisfying. The barriers that kept the two apart were believable. The pacing was excellent. The minor characters were delightful and vivid. Chef’s kiss.
Is it romance? Most definitely. Do I recommend it? Hard. - The Love Hypothesis - Pure candy. I have read this book so many times I cannot count. This is the book you read if you want a bunch of nonsense shenanigans, to grin from ear to ear, and to fall a little head over heels over an unrealistically dreamy MMC. No way was this guy single before the FMC came along. I bought the audiobook for when I have bad days.
Is it romance? At its very core. Do I recommend it? Only to those who are here for a good time. If you're opposed to silliness or tropes, not for you. - Daisy Jones and the Six - I listened to this on audiobook, and I recommend doing the same. This book captivated me. I loved the storyline. The characters sounded and acted so realistically, like people I went to with high school who were cooler than me. Such an interesting concept that I've never seen before. I don't think this one qualifies as a romance, but there were plenty of romantic elements. So many times, I just thought to myself, "this is brilliant." I guess they're making (made?) a show on Amazon, so there's that, too!
Is it romance? Not technically, but there are romantic elements throughout. Do I recommend it? If you are looking for something quite different, have any interest in music or rock star life, or appreciate good story telling, yes! If you are adamant that you want a traditional novel, I still recommend you try it, honestly. - The Spanish Love Deception - Travel! Silly cousins! Enemies to lovers! Ladies and gentleman, THIS is how fake dating is done! There was so much texture to the writing, so many interesting plot lines, so many times that I thought "oh, this is going to be the central plot struggle," but it was only just beginning! What phenomenal depth of characters, what a great balance of silly and sincere. See me alone in my living room, doing a standing ovation/slow clap combo.
Is it romance? To quote the Kool-Aid man, "Oh, yeah!" Do I recommend it? If you're looking for a fun book, do it! - Red, White, and Royal Blue - Casey McQuisto could write a description of me tying my shoes, and it would be beautiful. I'm in love with the MMCs. I loved how much time he took just giving the characters space to grow and fall in love. The plot was great, sure, but that's not what made this book sing. The story is vivid, inspiring, and heartfelt. I cannot wait for the movie. Is it romance? Absolutely. Do I recommend it? Most ardently.
- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Oh man, this book. I encourage you to go into it without any spoilers if you can. I laughed, I cried, I raved to all of my book friends. I could wax rhapsodic about this one for ages, but the joy of the book is the journey and the big reveals along the way. I will just say that it touched me in a way that was very personal and directly led to some positive changes in my life that I don't think would have happened had I not picked up this book. This is the best book I have read in years.
Is it romance? Not technically, but there was enough romance to keep me hooked anyway. Do I recommend it? Stop reading this and go read that. - A Court of Thorns and Roses - SJM has ruined books for me. I'm here, day after day, just trying to recreate the high I got when reading this series.
Is it romance? You bet your ass. Do I recommend it? If you’re reading this, you’re probably already on all of the SJM fan pages. Should I get the Graphic Audio if I already have the regular audio? Ok, now that the Target BookTok challenge is done, time to tackle the next impossible mountain: books I’ve purchased, but never read! In the meantime, I’d love to hear your opinions on these mega popular books or recommendations about what challenge I should conquer next. submitted by superblyfeatured to u/superblyfeatured [link] [comments] |

Part 1: Meakpuj
Waves rippled gently through the knotted mass of branches, rocking the boats of the Twaiptšroþan boats. One could tell the tide was high, for the corals further out to sea barely caused the waves to break - at low tide they poked though the foam they caused, creating whirlpools between the spikes. In the village overlooking the small strait between Meakpuj and Nyæŋpuj, among the air-drying fish and the clamour of ducks and turkeys, Šţrooŋ looked out over the coast. Having just returned from a successful fishing trip out into the bay, she took a moment to consider the world in which she lived before preparing her freshly caught meal. She often wondered about the world that lay beyond the shores of the island upon she lived... Why travel beyond when the waters here were so rich? Thanks to the dzneapuakt jwič hooks, she needn't even enter the water to get a meal for her family! It was as simple as adding a small amount of meat to the end, and leaving them dangling off the edge of her boat. "What a life", Šţrooŋ thought to herself, as she turned to prepare her meal.
As Šţrooŋ returned home, so did her partner, Mwiav. Mwiav had spent his day in a rather less relaxing manner, digging into the higher lands for the best jwič. His haul today wasn't perfect, but he had built up quite a collection both for himself and to trade to the Nyæŋšroþ, who visted so often at this time of year. The Nyæŋšroþ visiting was a celebratory affair, as they brought with them pyaivz jwič, which could be mixed with xab jwič to produce far better dzneapuakt jwič than burning xab jwič alone. They had even come up with a quite ingenious technique where a mix of pyaivz jwič and xab jwič would be cooked into a liquid form with dzneapuakt čræð, which burnt for a second time far better than ordinary logs, then poured into special devices to produce many replicas of a single item, vastly reducing the amount of work needed to produce any item they needed. Not only did the Nyæŋšroþ bring pyaivz jwič, but also fruits the likes of which Mwiav had never seen growing on Meakpuj, spices and what they called dvziaţ, a firey drink which was far more impressive than anything produced locally. Where these things came from Mwiav did not know, for surely they could not be fished, mined or foraged just a few miles away?
As Mwiav continued contemplating, he saw some specks gradually turn through dots into boats on the horizon. These were no mere fishing vessels, the Meakšroþ seldom strayed that far from the shore lest they get carried away by the currents, and the Nyæŋšroþ rarely fished, and definitely not in these quantities. He called out his family and made his way down to the shore with their arms filled with xab jwič, the closer he got the more Meakšroþ he saw joining him in his journey. He knew these visitors - he had seen these men many times before, and he knew exactly what what they wanted.
As the boats got closer Mwiav could practically feel the dvziat warming his throat. He didn't recognise any of the faces, but then again he rarely did. Different visitors would come regularly, seemingly as and when they needed xab jwič, so not recognising a face was nothing out of the ordinary. What took Mwiav by surprise was the way they spoke. The Nyæŋšroþ had always spoken in a funny sort of way... Mwiav never really had issues understanding what they were saying, but some words they used were surely made up, and their accent had a strange sort of breathiness to it, and the rythmn of their speech was almost that of a song. These visitors, however, were different. It was almost as if someone had taken a description of the ways Nyæŋšroþ talked and took it to the extreme, and many of the words they used were far removed from anything even the Nyæŋšroþ would say. Mwiav could see into their boats, at the pots which looked just like the ones the Nyæŋšroþ kept their dvziaţ in, and the clumps of pyaivz jwič which looked no different to the once Mwiav had seen many times before. Surely these people were interested in their xab jwič, just as the Nyæŋšroþ had been?
After some back and forth, each sentence being half lost and half understood, a consensus was reached. Mwiav was confused, for these men were offering far more, at least in terms of dvziaţ, in exchange for his xab jwič than the Nyæŋšroþ ever did! With both men smiling, and Mwiav helping to load up the boat of the man he had agreed to exchange his xab jwič with, the man made a comment to Mwiav. Mwiav didn't understand the full comment, but what he thought he heard was something along the lines of "fust šustuč pyeitsupt šwiaţ psoaŋ xeip ǰeaţ", "I think your prostitute looks promiscuous". Mwiav gave the man a confused look, who then repeated himself - "fust šustč pyeitsupt šwiaţ psoaŋ xeip ǰeaţ". As he completed the sentence, the man gestured clearly at Šţrooŋ. How dare the man insult his wife like this? Was it customary to conclude trade deals with slander where this man was from?
In a fit of rage, Mwiav lifted his hand and slapped the man in the face. The man looked up at Mwiav in disgust as blood began to trickle out of his nose. As the Meakšroþ around Mwiav and the traders talking to them began to notice the commotion, all hell broke loose. The Meakšroþ knew they had the numbers advantage, and began chasing the retreating visitors out to sea, attacking them with whatever they could carry. Oars were smashed against peoples' heads, and rocks were thrown at the traders as they scurried back to their boats. As rocks thudded against the hulls, they rowed away from Meakpuj, never to be seen again.
For the rest of his life, Mwiav pondered upon that day. Why had these men come with their attractive deals, only to insult his wife upon their completion? Why had he only seen them once, surely they couldn't have travelled far in those boats? The older he got, the more Mwiav grew to accept that there are some things that we will just never know.
Part 2: Dzoagvrin
The traders of the Dzoagšroþ had long heard of another island beyond Nyæŋpuj, both in rumours passed down from generations, and in conversations with the Nyæŋšroþ when trading for xweipz - they often asked where the xweipz of such purity came from, to which the Nyæŋšroþ would reply "an island further beyond here". As Pwæð got older, he grew more curious about this island beyond... The boats of the Nyæŋšroþ weren't any better than his, so surely they wouldn't have to travel too much further to reach the origin of the xweipz? And wouldn't the xweipz found there be more pure than anything that had been through the Nyæŋšroþ? It only made sense for them to keep the best for himself.
As the quieter farming months came around in Dzoagvrin, Pwæð brought together some friends whom he had previously voyaged across the narrow strait to Nyæŋpuj. At daybreak, they rowed out across the strait as they had many times before, however this time as they approached the coast they did not continue on to land, but instead they rowed east. The coastline continued almost arrow straight for miles, the dense mangrove forest blurring the lines between shore and sea, however eventually the coast began to curve around to the south. With the curve came the first sign of hills for a while, as opposed to the almost endless flatness that eastern Nyæŋpuj had shown so far, however these hills weren't lined with fields like the western hills were... Instead they were covered in a thick mat of forest, barring the occasional fallen tree, with animals calling so loud Pwæð might have thought they were on the boat with him had he not checked his cargo so thoroughly before leaving.
Pwæð was exhausted after rowing for most of the morning, especially after dealing with the rougher waves around the easternmost point of the cape. He split a few loaves of dzæd with his fellow traders and drank some dvzub before continuing onwards, this time heading in a southwesterly direction, away from the coast. Almost an hour went by before they sighted land, however at long last they saw some hills and treetops peeking over the horizon - was this the fabled xweipzpuj?
As the boats got closer to shore, Pwæð saw a break in the mangrove in the form of a sandy beach, which already had some boats pulled up onto it. Above the boats were a crowd of people, all holding... something... Pwæð was too far away to make it out. Were these defenders, here to attack the Dzoagšroþ and keep them away from their land, or were they traders who somehow foretold their arrival eagerly awaiting them? Pwæð's heart raced as knew he would find out in just a few short minutes. Pwæð thought he could make out women and children amongst those crowded down on the beach; surely this could only mean that this was a welcoming party?
Upon reaching the shore, Pwæð's hopes that this was a trading party were confirmed. Each member of the crowd held some highly pure looking raw xweipz, or highly tasty looking šţyaið kwiin, and all sorts of goods inbetween. Pwæð announced loudly to the crowd "I want to buy your xweipz", only to be looked at as if these people had never heard a man talk before. He gestured, pointing to himself on "I" and the tin nodules the crowd were holding on "xweipz". This got a response, Pwæð thought it sounded affirmative but it was hard to tell through the downright odd speech of these odd people, who talked like some sort of an extreme caricature of the Nyæŋšroþ - harsh, monotone and using all sorts of basic words such as "dark grey rocks"... Had they never thought to just call the rocks by their actual name, xweipz, before?
Looking around, Pwæð could clearly tell that these people were backwards and likely stupid. There were no terraces to be seen on the hills further inland, and while their boats looked sturdier than those from Nyæŋpuj or Dzoagvrin, why did they need so many boats when they clearly didn't travel to trade? He began talking in a very oversimplified manner, with a bunch of gestures. "I want dark grey rocks.", he said, pointing at the xweipz. "I give blue-green rocks and spice juice". This clearly got a response to the man he was talking to, who gestured to his family to bring over more xweipz. Knowing the man was clearly stupid, Pwæð offered a rock bottom price. H didn't even offer all the goods he had brought - these backwards people were lucky that he wasn't just taking it from them. Of course, this was accepted. "Pure xweipz for this cheap, and just a few extra hours of travel? This island must have been sent as a reward from the stars", Pwæð thought to himself as he loaded his spoils into his boat.
Once all the xweipz was loaded, Pwæð turned to the man he had just fleeced. Still giddy from getting such a good deal, and a little tipsy from all the dvzub he had drunk on the way over, he said "šustuč mruupt čyeapz, fust šustuč pyeitsupt šwiaţ psoaŋ xeip ǰeaţ" - "you are a lucky man, I think your wife looks very pretty". The man looked confused, so Pwæð repeated himself: "fust šustuč pyeitsupt šwiaţ psoaŋ xeip ǰeaţ". For seemingly no reason, this threw the man into a fit of rage. Pwæð felt a ringing in his ears and a stinging on his skin as a hand smashed into his face. He wasn't quite sure what happened next, but he did know there was a chorus of shouts from the group on the beach, as oars and rocks began to be pelted at the delegation, cowering back to their boats.
As the minutes passed of Pwæð and his friends rowing out to sea, it became clear that they were not being followed. Phew. Blood lined the bottom of Pwæð's boat, and he began to feel more and more dizzy as the group approached the cape, with its angry, towering waves. The tide was lower now than it had been earler, which forced the group to row slightly beyond the reef, in the rougher sea. As Pwæð's boat rocked side to side, he worried about how his sensation had gone from dizzy, to sick, to ----. As he was thinking, a huge wave had come in and swept the boat clean over, dumping Pwæð and his cargo of xweipz into the ocean. His ears ringing more than ever, Pwæð tried to swim up to the surface, but it was no use - the current was pulling him down. As he kicked upwards with all his might, he saw shadows approaching beneath the waves. He looked at the cloud of blood coming from his upturned boat, and screamed in desperation. There was nothing he could do.
end.

2023.05.29 15:03 stayclassypeople The 1976-77 Bowl Season
This is the 4th post in a series going over the bowl seasons from 1974-1997. Each year I'm examining the bowls with national title implications and the teams competing for the #1 ranking. If you want to catch up on prior seasons, check out the link to the master post to view previous writeups.

Setting the Stage Team | record | AP | Coaches |
Texas (SWC champ) | 11-0 | 1 | 1 |
Oklahoma (Big 8) | 10-1 | 2 | 2 |
Alabama (SEC) | 10-1 | 3 | 3 |
Michigan (B1G) | 10-1 | 4 | 4 |
Notre Dame (IND) | 10-1 | 5 | 5 |
Arkansas (SWC) | 10-1 | 6 | 6 |
Kentucky* | 10-1 | 7 | Unranked |
Penn St | 10-1 | 8 | 7 |
*Kentucky and Alabama didn't play in the regular season and both went unbeaten in SEC play, however the SEC title and Sugar Bowl bid went to Alabama as Kentucky was facing NCAA probation and prohibited from playing in a bowl.
Important games - September 17th: Alabama lost at Nebraska, 24-31
- September 17th: Notre Dame lost vs Ole Miss, 13-20. Alabama beat Ole Miss the prior week, 34-13
- September 17th: Kentucky lost at Baylor, 6-21.
- October 8: Texas won the Red River Rivalry over Oklahoma, 13-6
- October 15: Texas gave Arkansas its lone loss, 13-9
- October 22: Minnesota blanked Michigan, 16-0
Buckle up buckaroos! Thanks to bowl tie ins, the top 4 teams in each poll went to a separate bowl game! SWC champ Texas to the Cotton, Big 8 Champ OU to the Orange, SEC champ Alabama to the Sugar, and Big 10 champ Michigan to the Rose. Texas held all the cards though. They were the nations lone unbeaten and had wins over #2 Oklahoma and #6 Arkansas. A Cotton Bowl win would leave no doubt as to who was number one when the dust settled, but lose and a slew of 1 loss teams were waiting in the wings to fight for the voters' affections. The insanity that we're about to dive into truly makes this season one of my favorite in this series.
Cotton Bowl: #1 Texas vs #5 Notre Dame (January 1st, 2PM EST)
I mean, why play the bowls right? Texas was already the last unbeaten standing. Just give them #1 and call it a day right? Besides, Texas was too good to let some silly Notre Dame team led by some schmuck name Joe Montana knock them off, right? Right? Well, unfortunately for Texas, the pollsters looking for a clear cut champ, and protestant football fans everywhere, you'd be wrong. The Irish came in and absolutely mollywhopped them. After a 3-3 first quarter, they Irish exploded for 21 in the 2nd to jump to a 24-10 lead. They would shut out the horns in the 2nd half for a 38-10 route. The national title race was now wide open.
Sugar Bowl #3 Alabama vs #9/8 Ohio St (January 1st, 2PM EST)
The Sugar Bowl kicked off about the same time as the Cotton, so Alabama didn't have the luxury to see how that game played out. A lot of pieces needed to fall into place to claim #1. In addition to a win and a Texas loss, they would also likely need Oklahoma to lose the Orange bowl the next day. That would leave them and Notre Dame in a beauty contest for the voters, and the Tide were already 2 spots ahead in each poll. They made the most of their opportunity and thrashed Ohio St. The led 13-0 at half and cruised to a 35-6 victory. Now they would have to anxiously wait for the Orange Bowl result.
Rose Bowl #4 Michigan vs #13/14 Washington (January 2nd, 5pm
Going into the new year, Michigan would need a lot of help to jump to #1. Losses by #1 Texas, #2 Oklahoma, and #3 would be required, and even then, they would need to win the voters affections over #5 Notre Dame and #6 Arkansas who would both have better bowls wins than them in that scenario. By kickoff they knew those title hopes were on life support as #3 Alabama dominated rival Ohio St the day before. Perhaps this affected their play, or maybe Washington was just that good. Either way, the Huskies jumped to a 17-0 halftime lead and held off a 2nd half rally to upset the Wolverines, 27-20.
Orange Bowl #2 Oklahoma vs #6 Arkansas
The college football season would finish with the Orange Bowl and fans across the country watched with baited breath. Alabama, Notre Dame, and of course the Sooners, all had a potential championship on the line based on this game's result. With Texas' loss, #2 ,Oklahoma was in the best position to claim #1 with a win. If they lose, then Alabama would likely take the crown instead (I mean no way Notre Dame would jump them right?) 1st year head coach Lou Holtz and the Razorbacks had their slim title chances dashed by Alabama's earlier win, and came into this game hoping to play spoiler, and boy did they. Arkansas opened a can of pig suuuuii, and rolled Oklahoma, 31-6. The Sooners didn't even manage a TD til the 4th quarter. Fans in Tuscaloosa cheered as the national title appeared to be theirs for the taking.
Post Bowl Rankings Teams | record | AP | Coaches |
Notre Dame | 11-1 | 1 (37 ⅓) | 1 (23) |
Alabama | 11-1 | 2 (19 1/3) | 2 (13) |
Arkansas | 11-1 | 3 (5 1/3) | 3 (2) |
Texas | 11-1 | 4 (2) | 5 (1) |
Chaos reigned as the top 2 teams and 3 of the top 4 lost their bowl. In a surprise turn of events, Notre Dame leapfrogged Alabama in both polls to be declared a unanimous national champion. Despite the Tide's route of Ohio St, the voters were more impressed with The Irish's win over #1 Texas. Notre Dame had a strong argument to be #1. They just beat the number #1 Horns, which also gave them transitive wins over Oklahoma and Arkansas. The tide had a strong case too. Their lone loss was to a top 10 Nebraska team, whereas the Irish lost to a 5-6 Ole Miss team, who the Tide beat a week prior. I almost feel bad for Alabama here . . . almost. I can imagine there were a lot of frustrations over this season, since the top 4 teams played in separate game, but would be remiss if I didn't say that the absolute chaos it brought wasn't entertaining.

2023.05.29 15:03 CivilisedKitty I'm growing weak!
Background: 22M, 6'3 (190cm), 87kg±2. I've been wanting to cut fat, and have been on a deficit. I usually have ~2000 cals. Before this i used to do calisthenics and compound lifts with a barbell and weights I have lying around at home.
I'm a complete noob and I recently joined an MMA gym (3weeks ago). It's 4 days/week of intense (for me) 70-min odd training, and I've found that I've grown weaker: so much so that my avg pull ups have gone down from about 7-8 to 2, and I'm having trouble with even exercises like 10kg shoulder presses.
Will I recover simply by covering the deficit I'm on? Or is this because of something else? My daily calorie intake should be around 3000 cals for me to maintain weight.
What do you guys think?

2023.05.29 15:02 BenShutterbug My in-depth review of the Mazda CX-60 after 7000km and 5 months - Design, Performance, Range and Value for Money
Hello everyone,
Last January, I purchased a CX-60. As it is still difficult to find user reviews of this model, I took the time to write this review in the hope that it can be helpful to you if you are considering buying this car. I hope that my experience can answer some of your questions and assist you in your decision-making process.
Exterior Design (4/5)
The design is particularly successful. The car has a sleek look and gives the impression of being in motion even when stationary, just as the designers promised during the design phase. It has nothing to envy compared to its competitors, such as the Audi Q5. Although I'm not a big fan of black rims, I must admit that they blend harmoniously with the Takumi package on this model. The black accents on the rims, tinted windows, and mirrors create a visual signature that doesn't go unnoticed. Unlike most models, it stands out more in person than in photos, especially in terms of size. It is truly massive. For comparison, it is longer and taller than an Audi Q5. When you see it for the first time, the "wow" effect is guaranteed. However, the rear of the vehicle is less expressive and does not do justice to the front and side views. Fortunately, the quad exhaust at the back helps maintain the sporty character of the model.
Interior Design (5/5)
The interior layout is clean, simple, and modern. It features a large central screen, a minimally customizable driver display, and a head-up display integrated directly on the windshield. This efficiency will surely appeal to those who struggle with screens everywhere displaying unnecessary information. Similarly, you cannot customize the ambient lighting in the evening. The lights are fixed, in a neutral color, and the adjustment only offers 3 intensities. It may not be to everyone's liking, but personally, I find it liberating to be free from countless customization possibilities that always leave a sense of dissatisfaction. As for the materials, they come in understated colors and durable textures, both in terms of aesthetics and longevity (at least for now, time will tell). The center console is impressively wide and gives a sense of space rarely felt in vehicles of similar size. When driving this car, you feel like you're aboard a large American SUV like the Suburban or Ford Explorer. Unfortunately, there are not many storage compartments. The huge center console only offers a tiny compartment that can hold a few small items and keys at most. The door pockets are also very low and not very practical.
Ergonomics (4/5)
The cabin offers generous space for all occupants, including the rear seats where even adults over 1.80m tall have ample legroom. The seats, which are rather firm and have limited adjustments, can be surprising at first, especially if you're coming from a vehicle with a multitude of settings. In the first few days, I experienced sharp back pain, especially since the car lacks flexibility as I'll mention later. After three weeks of adjustment, the pain disappeared, and I even noticed an improvement in my posture. In my previous vehicle, my seat was so comfortable, like a sofa, but now I realize it was bad for my back. Inside this car, with its comfort inspired by Japanese tatami mats, I ultimately feel better, less slouched, and more alert. The trunk offers significant capacity, especially compared to similar models. However, it doesn't have a dual compartment or a sub-trunk to store charging cables. The tailgate rises very high, over 3 meters. It struggles to lock in place when encountering resistance, which can damage it from the first uses. I recommend adjusting it by pressing the closing button while it's opening, to lock it at the desired height, and holding down that button for 5 seconds (until you hear a series of beeps) to limit the opening range.
Technologies and Equipment (3/5)
The connectivity is quite comprehensive, although Apple CarPlay suffers from some instability and unexplained bugs (random disconnections, unexpected cuts, slowdowns, random automatic connection). Wireless charging also sometimes poses a problem. It works randomly and seems to generate a lot of heat on the phone. When not in use, an error message keeps flashing, indicating that no phone is being charged.
As for driving aids, the lane-keeping system works very well, although it is not autonomous. If you don't have your hands on the wheel, the car behaves like a billiard ball, bouncing from one lane to another. However, if it deviates from its trajectory because you're not attentive enough, it will alert you and secure the car by making a steering correction. It's very reassuring and always activated at the right time. Moreover, it's even a valuable aid on high-speed winding turns, on certain departmental roads. Other vehicles end up cutting through the turns or having to slow down excessively, while you effortlessly stay precisely in your lane.
I was very disappointed with the cruise control, which is not adaptive. Later, I discovered that it is an option that is disabled in the software since all the necessary sensors are already present. You can confirm this through ActiveSense, which provides a complete view of surrounding vehicles. So, I wanted to add this option later, willing to bear the cost, but Mazda doesn't allow it. This strategy, or lack of a sales strategy, is surprising.
The temperature management inside the car is surprising. Without changing the temperature settings in automatic mode, during a long drive, there is a yo-yo effect that is difficult to explain. One moment, it feels quite cool, and a few minutes later, it becomes too hot. I wonder if it's related to the external brightness because on a hot spring day, the air conditioning temperature suddenly rose when the sky suddenly became overcast. However, it was still hot outside. I think there's an overly reactive adaptive mode at play.
The remote car management is quite good. It's possible to activate the heating or air conditioning, which will run for a maximum of 30 minutes before shutting off and sending a notification to your phone. You can extend it if you have a good signal. The car surprisingly receives a signal in unexpected places, even in underground parking lots where my phone has no network. This remote temperature mode is ideal for defrosting the car or leaving a dog inside during cold weather or in the summer when the temperature rises quickly in a closed and parked car. I've tested it in extreme cold and hot seasonal temperatures, and it works very well so far. Of course, it consumes a lot of energy, but you can't have everything without a trade-off. It's suitable for occasional use. The rest of the remote features include locking the car, checking tire pressure, consulting the range, and receiving alerts if the alarm is triggered, which is very reassuring. It's also possible to locate the car precisely. It's a shame that we can't access the cameras, as in other fully electric models.
It's not clear in the vehicle manual, but to deactivate the alarm, you need to press the alarm button on the remote right after locking the car. The indicator will blink 4 times, and then it will be turned off. It's better to do it before leaving your dog alone, or else the alarm will be triggered if the dog moves inside the vehicle.
Performance and Driving Dynamics (4/5)
I own the 327-horsepower PHEV model: 200 horsepower from the atmospheric gasoline engine and 127 horsepower from the electric motor. Although the low-end power is reduced with an atmospheric engine, the electric motor more than makes up for it with its responsiveness and instant torque. Despite its weight, the car is very agile. It even outperforms some more powerful or lighter petrol-powered cars in terms of acceleration. Of course, such models regain the advantage in corners, but not in straight lines. The acceleration is impressive, although the road noise insulation somewhat dampens the sensation. Other vehicles seem almost stationary when you step on the accelerator.
I was initially disappointed with the braking performance, which was less impressive than in my previous vehicle. However, by pressing the pedal harder and adjusting the regenerative braking to the maximum, I managed to get used to it.
The handling is remarkable. Although it's not a sports car capable of maintaining very high speeds in corners, it still surpasses similar-sized competing models. Thanks to the four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering, the turning angle and trajectory in corners are impressive for a car of this size. One of the drawbacks of the vehicle lies in the stiffness of the suspension. Despite the excellent noise isolation, you feel the road imperfections more than you would expect when driving an SUV. Even at low speeds, speed bumps are very uncomfortable and cause items in the trunk to bounce around. Mazda seems to have made this choice to prevent the relatively high car from swaying in corners and reduce the risk of rollovers at high speeds. Adaptive suspension could have solved this problem. However, considering the pricing position against the competition, I understand why the brand overlooked this aspect. Moreover, after 3000 km, I noticed that the suspension has become slightly softer, improving comfort to some extent.
Energy Efficiency and Range (2/5)
The consumption and hybridization aspects encompass the majority of the vehicle's drawbacks. The car discharges quickly, and the actual range is much lower than what the manufacturer claims. Like many owners, I also face a discharge issue when the car is parked. It loses about 30% of charge in 24 hours (and even drains the 12-volt starter battery - as if the headlights were left on). This problem is due to software that prevents the car from entering sleep mode. I have already taken my vehicle to Mazda for reprogramming, and I will have to do it again soon because the issue is still unresolved (now I lose 15% in 24 hours). This problem is not part of the manufacturer's recalls, but many owners are affected. Dealing with a less established manufacturer, this can quickly become a headache. I had to go through many steps and cancel orders for other CX-60s for my company before being taken into consideration by the after-sales service. During my third call, Mazda France assistance even replied to me that they are not Audi. The message is quite clear.
Beyond this specific issue, the management of hybridization lacks customization and seems suitable for a specific use case only. If you live in a house, always have the car plugged in, and regularly make short trips, this plug-in hybrid is suitable. However, if you cannot plug it in daily or if you regularly drive more than 50 km round trip, you might be disappointed. Especially considering the consumption of this car in electric mode, it is often more expensive to charge it than to refuel with gasoline. The cost per 100 km is 2 to 4 times higher at current energy prices. Personally, I opted for the hybrid due to the tax incentives and benefits, but I also wanted to take advantage of remote heating and air conditioning options, especially when I have to leave my dog in the car for a few minutes. Since I cannot recharge it daily in the parking lot of my building, it would be desirable to be able to keep a charged battery and drive in combustion engine mode, but no mode truly allows that. It is possible to choose to recharge the car while driving, consuming approximately 13 liters per 100 km, but you cannot choose to drive solely on the combustion engine without using the high-capacity battery. The sport mode comes close, but the gears are shifted at high RPM, making the driving experience jerky and particularly noisy, and the battery is used as soon as you accelerate a bit (to activate the 137-horsepower motor). An exclusively combustion engine mode would have been relevant, similar to the exclusively electric mode. Furthermore, recharging the battery while driving doesn't work correctly. The recharge is very fast, much faster than when it's connected to 7 kW chargers. However, the displayed percentage does not correspond to the actual charge, which explains why it continues to recharge beyond the set percentage. For example, if you're at 30% and ask the car to recharge up to 50% while driving, it will work at a high rate until it reaches 50%. In normal mode, it will stop recharging the battery, but will continue operating at a high rate to not drop below 50%. So, you end up consuming more without reason, with the engine noise constantly high, which is quite unpleasant. In sport mode, it will continue recharging the battery above 50% without any limit. However, once the car is stopped and restarted, you'll notice that you weren't at 50%, but rather at 35%. The fast recharge was, therefore, fictitious. The problem is that this is a first for Mazda in terms of technology, and no one there is able to provide answers on this matter. The garage I visit explains that Mazda is highly centralized and communicates very little in terms of engineering with the garages. It is, therefore, common for a problem to persist for several months (or more) before being addressed at the technical management level in Japan and then transmitted to local dealerships. However, when deciding to market a technologically immature car, it would be wise to establish a continuous improvement process based on user feedback. In fact, on forums, we can see that Japanese users receive preferential treatment compared to the rest of the world. In conclusion, the battery of this car, which needs to be recharged at a high cost, is only useful for the first 40 kilometers. So, you spend over 3 hours recharging a battery at an exorbitant rate for only 25 or 30 minutes of driving without using gasoline. One might wonder if it's simply a trick to equip professionals, allowing them to benefit from incentives and reduced tax on company vehicles (the primary reason for my purchase). I think many people will never plug it in.
Cost and Value for Money (4/5)
The value for money of this model is indeed very interesting when compared to vehicles of the same standing from other brands, such as Audi. For example, an Audi Q5 offers a similar level but with an additional cost of €25,000. For the same price as a Mazda CX-60, you would only get a Q3 from Audi, which is clearly not comparable. However, it is important to note that the depreciation of this vehicle could be significant, and it might even become difficult to resell it in a few years. This is also true for all plug-in hybrid models. Therefore, I would recommend this model, provided that you negotiate the price well or opt for a lease (the offers are very attractive, and personally, I chose this payment method). The PHEV configuration of the vehicle is suitable for individuals who have daily access to a charging point and have diverse travel needs, ranging from short to long trips. Before the increase in electricity prices, the cost per 100 km was slightly more advantageous compared to gasoline, but today it is the opposite (except when charging from a domestic socket).
Conclusion
I am delighted with this car considering the price at which I acquired it. The positioning is unbeatable, and there are good deals to be made to drive this luxury sports SUV at the price of a "regular" SUV. With a domestic electric socket, choosing the plug-in hybrid is a good middle ground. It's just a shame that the hybrid management is not more refined. Perhaps future updates will address these teething problems.

2023.05.29 15:00 prymarama Conquering College Procrastination
Hey, fellow Redditors! Let's chat about something we can all relate to procrastination in uni. I struggled with overwhelming tasks and constantly putting things off until the last minute. But fear not, for I have discovered a system that works for me.
Here's how I tackle my workload: I prioritize tasks based on their level of interest and importance to me. I spread them out over a few days, dedicating 1-2 hours daily to work on them. This way, I can focus and make steady progress without feeling overwhelmed. Next, I set aside around 30-50 minutes for tasks that could be more exciting but still need to be done. I ensure they are noticed and keep myself accountable by giving them a specific time slot. Finally, I tackle whatever is left, the tasks that could be more urgent and more appealing. I save them for last, knowing I have already made progress on the more important ones. Now, let's talk about those dreaded tight deadlines. We've all been there. When time is running out, panic starts to set in. That's where EssayPro comes to the rescue. I've used their editing services several times a month when I need a helping hand to meet those urgent deadlines.
So, fellow college procrastinators, let's tackle our tasks with a prioritized approach, making steady progress each day. Together, we can conquer procrastination and make college life less stressful. Stay motivated, my friends!

2023.05.29 15:00 autotldr Indian official suspended for draining dam to retrieve smartphone
This is the best tl;dr I could make,
original reduced by 48%. (I'm a bot)
A government official in central India has been suspended from his job after he ordered a water reservoir to be drained to retrieve his smartphone, which he had dropped while taking a selfie.
Over the next three days, more than 2 million litres of water was pumped out from the reservoir, which was enough to irrigate at least 1,500 acres of land during India's scorching summer, local media reported.
Vishwas told local media the water in the reservoir was unusable for irrigation and that he had received permission from a senior official to drain it.
"Officials of irrigation department told me water was not being used by farmers and I could empty it by 3 feet , so I got the water drained into a canal and made it usable," he was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
Authorities later suspended Vishwas after he was widely criticised for wasting water resources.
India is one of the most water-stressed countries and extreme temperatures lead to severe water scarcity, causing crop losses, forest fires and cuts to power.

2023.05.29 15:00 Unlikely-Coffee-3077 richard the cockroach kill 6 win the under age lost episode
richard the cockroach is a adult animated TV show by Sega cockroach named Richard griffin named in quahog it was Christmas i decided to buy him on Amazon i found one weird enough saying DON'T WATCH THIS OR ELSE WILL DIE it was a joke to buy it
it arrived in the post office cover saying Richard The Cockroach 6 with a poorly drawn illustration of adult animated TV show he had black holes with no nose and no mouth one of my bedroom drawer
the next day it was Christmas put disc in DVD player i watched TV a few minutes later i heard screaming and crying from my room horrifying sight on the TV it was image of Richard Chris Lois quamire Joe Meg Carter minion tubeworm and Brian all in complete darkness they all lost their nose and mouth and they had black holes of eyes the colours were dark what sounded like distorted version of the richard the cockroach theme song
my brother got up he had blood running down the eyes nose mouth and ears told him to go down the stairs i then told my parents take brother to my hospital i went into the living room put disc in DVD player and started watching to my surprise there was no language selection Sega logo warning previews DVD menu or theme song instead it went into the title card which was just text in Canadian on a black background i translated it and it said Quamire Kills Everyone but i continued watching
the episode started with quamire sleeping he stole his money quamire woke up see that figure was running away with his money TIME TO KILL THAT FUCKING ROBBER FLY i was shocked since that episode continued swearing however quamire pulls out the fly swatter and shooting the figure in haltere hyper animated blood and beak matter everywhere
quamire said finally that shitty robber fly is dead now time to kill Richard quamire went to Richard's house where Richard was sleeping quamire pulled out fly whisker and sliced Richard in half Brian was shocked he then about to bite quamire quamire pulled out the fly swatter and shot Brian then he heard sounds of sirens and quamire said oh shit as he back to the house and locked the door QUAMIRE THIS IS THE POLICE OPEN UP
quamire busted down the door with a grenade and fly swatter in his hand WHITE POWER N***ERS and started shooting the police police pulled out the fly swatter missing all of bullets the police was about to shoot quamire quamire shot the police hyper animated blood and ovary matter everywhere
then quamire saw a police helicopter in the sky as quamire threw the grenade at the helicopter YOU CAN'T KILL ME YOU SON OF BITCHES I'M THE GREAT QUAMIRE the grenade exploded hyper animated blood and body parts flying everywhere as the helicopter flew down and crashed quamire looked at the screen with a devilish smile on his face lasted for a minute announcement came after break on cartoon network it then cut to the advert until they nothing but the gore
another advert came it was advert for Coles on cartoon network never series like warner bros animation they are back to richard the cockroach on cartoon network another title card came up saying in Canadian Quamire Kills Everyone Part 2 i didn't watch a part 2 so i took out the disc and put it in blender i watched as blender broke the disc into tiny pieces so i buried it along with cover i need go to hospital but first i watch the TV i then heard of voice saying want to watch more and i looked around to see a bloody quamire plush with a bug spray i threw the doll into the bin and continued watching TV
i went into the hospital i didn't really care since my brother died of the same so i have nothing about everywhere

2023.05.29 15:00 stonescoldtakes NFL Update: 05/22/2023 - 05/28/2023 - OTAs are Back!!!
Layout: — Individual Team News + Stone’s Cold Takes
— Miscellaneous/Other NFL News
— Restaurant of the Week - Washington D.C.
Arizona Cardinals: - Released WR DeAndre Hopkins and he listed out info about what he wants in his next team:
- Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert
- He wants stable management and a great defense
- Some folks in AZ were upset with Hopkins because he sat out the last couple of games
- S Budda Baker says he will be at camp when its time for him to be there
After some decent news the last couple weeks for this organization there wasn’t really anything great from this week besides maybe the fact that if WR DeAndre Hopkins was a distraction to the team he now no longer is one. It will be interesting to see how things play out this year.
Atlanta Falcons: - FB Keith Smith was arrested on traffic charges
- Driving with a suspended license he claims was a misunderstanding
- K Younghoe Koo didn’t ask for money from RB Bijan Robinson to give him his number but asked him to pick a charity at some point down the road to donate to
- Will have joint practices with the Dolphins
- Signed:
It sounds like the situation with Keith Smith should get resolved rather quickly and was more of a misunderstanding than anything else. It will be fun for this young team to have joint practices with Miami and it will be a good way for their defense to get an initial test from an elite offense. I am sure the Dolphins won’t reveal all of their tricks but either way they will have to worry about guarding an elite offense with elite playmakers.
Baltimore Ravens: - QB Lamar Jackson expects a more pass-heavy offense under new OC Todd Monken
- WR Michael Thomas separate his shoulder and could require labrum surgery
- WR Rashod Bateman who just played just 6 games was on the field for OTAs on Monday
- Waived Daelin Hayes
- S Kyle Hamilton excited for expanded role with the team
- Tony Jefferson is retiring and joining the team as a scout
- Signed:
- DL Angelo Blackson
- QB Josh Johnson
It is crazy to think about how just about a month ago the news around the Ravens was all negative and that it seemed like the relationship with Lamar was fractured. Now here we are and Lamar seems about as happy as can be and is excited about the offense that is being installed under new OC Todd Monken. It will be exciting for him as well to have WR Rashod Bateman back who I still think can be a key playmaker on the team. It appears the Ravens could be set for big things even in a tough division.
Buffalo Bills: - No surprise, QB Josh Allen is hyper-focused and wants to win a Super Bowl
- S Damar Hamlin is back out working out on the field
- WR Stefon Diggs did not attend OTAs
- EDGE Von Miller guarantees he will play by week 6 but is not rushing anything
- Signed:
- S Dean Marlowe
- Joel Wilson
Great to see the that S Damar Hamlin was back out practicing. I know it has been some time since his collapse on the field but it still feels like yesterday that I was watching that game in complete shock at what I had witnessed and worry for him and his family. WR Stefon Diggs being absent at OTAs is not a big deal to me. QB Josh Allen has a lot of other guys he needs to get familiar and work in with anyways and a lot of star players don’t attend OTAs to either get rest/recovery or to do their own workouts with their private coaches. I imagine he and Kincaid will be deadly this year and who knows they may even have WR DeAndre Hopkins joining them as the Bills were one of two teams that inquired and had talks about a trade for him.
Carolina Panthers: - TE Hayden Hurst is recovering from sports hernia surgery
- QB Bryce Young is taking most of the first team reps
Not too much news here other than what we saw and heard from OTAs about Bryce Young getting to take most of the 1st team reps. It appears that he looked good and his teammates were saying great things about him. It is tough to judge any quarterback though in the offseason because no matter what folks always say their young or new quarterback is looking amazing and things are progressing nicely. I will say though I have heard the most good things coming out from camps about him and Anthony Richardson of the Colts.
Chicago Bears: - QB Justin Fields excited about the growth WR Chase Claypool had over offseason
- Got permission to begin demolition of Arlington Park racetrack
Good news for Chicago fans who are excited for their move. It seems that things are proceeding nicely with the process of moving to a new stadium. Also, great to hear that Chase Claypool may be able to make more of a difference this year. It would be hard to be less effective than what he was last year for this team. I still believe he can be a major impact player like many expected him to be when he entered the league. It will be key for him to become Fields’ go to receiver over some of the other talent they have on the team.
Cincinnati Bengals: - Want to sign WR Tee Higgins and LB Logan Wilson to long term extensions
- Have made their initial push for QB Joe Burrow
This team has a lot to do in terms of contracts that they need to get figured out. The team view Tee Higgins in very high regard and so does Joe Burrow as they should. They also really want to get Logan Wilson signed. However, what will come out to being the biggest of the contracts they do this offseason is that of Joe Burrow. What will continue to make things tough here is the longer it takes for Justin Hebert to get his deal done because Burrow will likely be the last of the 4 quarterbacks to sign his because it is presumed he will get the most money and has an agent who like to wait til the last minute.
Cleveland Browns: - WR Elijah Moore feels good now that he feels wanted with his new team
- EDGE Za’Darius Smith is excited to be facing the Ravens this year
All good news for Browns fans so far. The team is looking good and their appears to be a lot of good vibes coming out of practice. WR DeAndre Hopkins is even considering coming to Cleveland for the chance to play with his old QB. Also, WR Elijah Moore is looking crisp and at least for the moment it appears he is much happier. It will all depend on if he actually gets the ball thrown to him during the season though.
Dallas Cowboys: - HC Mike McCarthy is keeping offense in Dak’s language despite the changeup in play callers
Not too much news here which is good for this franchise because they are almost always the center of attention. The main thing I took away from this week was just that things seems to be going well with McCarthy and Dak working together on the offense but that there have been some growing pains at least initially getting used to new systems as expected.
Denver Broncos: - Waived Hunter Thedford with injury settlement
- Released K Brandon McManus
- K Brett Maher worked out for the team
- QB Russell Wilson has lost a lot of weight this offseason
- HC Sean Payton excited about what S Kareem Jackson can do to help team
- RB Javonte Williams was limited in OTAs starting on Thursday
- Signed:
- T Cam Fleming to a 1-year $4m deal
- DT Tyler Lancaster
It appeared to shock just about everyone when the news broke about K Brandon McManus getting released because he had become a fan favorite over the years in Denver. QB Russell Wilson has lost a lot of weight and it is evident just from seeing him this offseason. I didn’t think his weight was the issue hindering him last year but hopefully he can feel he is playing at a healthier weight. What I think most Denver fans were excited to see was RB Javonte Williams back on the practice field. He is going to end up being the real difference maker this year and whether this team competes with the top of the AFC or not will largely depend on him making the rest of the offense’s life easy or not.
Detroit Lions: - Former WR Calvin Johnson was at OTAs this week after having been away from the organization following a rough falling out post-retirement
- RB David Montgomery said that losing with the Bears “sucked the fun out of the game”
- WR Jameson Williams says that he didn’t know about the gambling policy; HC Dan Campbell feels he is miles ahead in terms of his talent already
- Traded an undisclosed draft pick for K Riley Patterson
- Signed a 1-year $2.35m deal
- RB David Montgomery and LB Malcolm Rodriguez left practice due to injury
- Team has done their homework on free agent WR DeAndre Hopkins
- NFL is investigation another Lions player about league gambling rules violations
- Signed:
- OL Germain Ifedi
- Max Pircher through international player pathway program
A lot of news here. Let’s start with the bad news. It appears that they may be having more penalties come down on their team/players due to the league’s gambling policy as their is an ongoing investigation into a 5th player from the team. Also, David Montgomery and Malcolm Rodriguez left the field with injuries. It is still early though and they appear to be minor injuries so hopefully it won’t affect them in the long term. Now some good news. It sounds like WR Jameson Williams is progressing nicely and the team got a new kicker in Riley Patterson from the Jaguars who should help the improve there. Lastly and maybe the biggest news is that Calvin “Megatron” Johnson was at OTAs hanging out with coaches and players. Many are hoping those good vibes carry over into the season.
Green Bay Packers: - Signed:
- Cut TE Nick Guggemos
- Will host the 2025 NFL Draft
- HC Matt LaFleur is please with Jordan Love but still need to work on a lot of things
Exciting news that Green Bay will get the draft in 2025! I was thinking they would try and stick to more southern states but they clearly are willing to go North with Detroit and now Green Bay being the hosts of the next two. HC Matt LaFleur appears to be being honest with everything and trying to temper expectations a bit with Jordan Love taking over. This could be to help take pressure off of Love and also just be the flat out truth that with any young quarterback it is going to take some time.
Houston Texans: - Appears DeMeco Ryans may not be too sure about pursuing Jadeveon Clowney
- HC DeMeco Ryans expects the o-line to be a strength for this team
- Currently it is a QB competition between Davis Mills and CJ Stroud
- Other teams have been inquiring about QB Davis Mills
I am not surprised about DeMeco Ryans hesitancy about pursuing Jadeveon Clowney. First of all he just may not want to reveal his cards to others in the league about what he is thinking. The other thing is that he is one that likes for his defense to have an identity and a really good work ethic. I am not saying that Clowney can’t fit that mold but it just makes the selection process for what Ryans wants on defense that much more thorough. The other news that surprised some but something I mentioned a couple of weeks ago is that QB Davis Mills will compete with Stroud for the starting job and is viewed as a desirable QB to other teams around the league. I know his stats haven’t been the best but I am not sure any of the young quarterbacks would have done well with what the Texans organization has been the last couple years. At the end of the day CJ Stroud will end up being the team’s starter due to draft status and probably will be the more talented, better option.
Indianapolis Colts: - No timetable for Shaquille Leonard to resume practicing
- QB Anthony Richardson was running a similar offense to what Jalen Hurts has run in Philly and was very impressive (splitting 1st team reps)
- Signed:
Overall things seems to be good for the organization. The main thing we are all waiting on is when Shaq Leonard will be able to get back out there and start practicing. It makes sense not to have him practicing now since things are optional anyways. The hype has been there for QB Anthony Richardson thus far and it appears he may be closer to starting right away than a lot of people thought.
Jacksonville Jaguars: - Traded K Riley Patterson to the Lions for an undisclosed draft pick
- RB Travis Etienne looking forward to doing some fine-tuning this year
- Signed Brandon McManus
Not too much news out of Jacksonville other than the change at the kicker position. Things got busy and they were able to trade K Riley Patterson to the Lions rather than release like the reports had said prior. Then they went out and got a proven veteran in K Brandon McManus who had just been released from the Broncos squad. This team is going to be interesting this year and will go as far QB Trevor Lawrence can take them. Does not hurt to have the veteran kicker for the big moments that could be coming for this organization.
Kansas City Chiefs: - HC Andy Reid is not a fan of the kickoff rule change hinting at the NFL getting closer to being flag football
- TE Travis Kelce is not happy about it either
- QB Patrick Mahomes addressed contract saying he cares more about Super Bowls
- LB Nick Bolton doesn’t think the defense gets enough credit
- QB Patrick Mahomes says that it has been a smooth transition to new OC Matt Nagy
- HC Andy Reid feels fullbacks have been phased out of the NFL and that the Chiefs will not be using one
HC Andy Reid who normally is pretty quiet and doesn’t get too involved was in front of the media a lot this week it felt like. First, he is not a fan of the new kickoff rule and it appears most coaches are not. Second, he talked about how the team will not be using a FB because they are being phased out of the NFL and he feels that the TEs they have on the team can play the role when needed. Overall it seems things are going well for the Chiefs and things could be a going a lot better here soon as they appear to be a top option for WR DeAndre Hopkins and one the few teams that had trade talks before he was released.
Las Vegas Raiders: - Former QB Tom Brady reached an agreement to be a minority owner of the team
- QB Jimmy Garoppolo had to have foot surgery after signing with the team and there is not timetable for his return - believe he should return before the season
- Things could get interesting depending on how situation with Jimmy G works out
- WR Davante Adams is not happy about the current QB situation with the Raiders
- Adams and team have been sued by the photographer he shoved last year
- Will have joint practices with the 49ers
It appears there is never a dull week with the Raiders. The news this week about Jimmy seem to add context potentially to what Davante Adams’ comments were about recently. With Tom Brady recently joining the ownership group here it makes us all wonder if the injury is not cleared up is there a way for him to un-retire once again…only time will tell.
Los Angeles Chargers: - Signed:
- RB Austin Ekeler to a new deal for this final year that added on up to $2m in incentives
Big news here getting the deal done with Austin Ekeler even if it still only keeps him around for 1 year. Thankfully now he should be semi-happy for that one year before he can go out and chase a big contract if he wants to.
Los Angeles Rams: Not much news here really. Sounds like Matthew Stafford has taken Stetson Bennett under his wing and started to work with him and help him learn more about the transition to the NFL compared to college.
Miami Dolphins: - WR DK Metcalf challenged WR Tyreek Hill
- Will have joint practices with the Falcons
- QB Tua Tagavailoa is wearing a camera on his helmet to help HC Mike McDaniel see what he sees on the field
I loved seeing Tua wearing the helmet cam. I had not thought about it before but it should be great for him to be able to show McDaniel exactly what he is/was seeing out on the field to add context and allow McDaniel to better coach him and understand what is going on. I think this should be something all quarterbacks do and especially the top ones because it could gives coaches that much more information and a better understanding of how to help young quarterbacks in the future.
Minnesota Vikings: - Signed:
- WR from the XFL Lucky Jackson
- DC Brian Flores wants defense to develop an aggressive identity but not reckless
- RB Dalvin Cook could be a June 1st cut
All signs appear to be pointing towards RB Dalvin Cook getting released. In other news it will be good for the defense to develop the aggressive mindset that Brian Flores wants and should bring in the attitude from Miami that wad established during his time there that was so effective and led to them winning games.
New England Patriots: - Got docked 2 days of OTA workouts for violating offseason rules and HC Bill Belichick was fined $50,000 dollars
- Placed LB Raekwon McMillan on injured reserve due to partially torn ACL
The Patriots seems to always be up to something. It sounds like they were penalized the 2 days of OTAs and fined because of a meeting that Joe Judge held that lasted more than the permitted amount of time. Other tough news came when Raekwon McMillan got injured.
New Orleans Saints: - TE Foster Moreau is participating in OTAs
- Being in New Orleans has given QB Derek Carr a breath of fresh air
- Former HC Jon Gruden is working with the team and Derek Carr
What a story. TE Foster Moreau finds out he has cancer in a physical with the team a couple months and gets ahead of things and is now practicing with them at OTAs. Interesting story here about former HC Jon Gruden working with the team because during his time with the Raiders many said that he and Carr did not get along. This team has a big opportunity to take over the NFC South and is probably the bet setup to do it with the team they have.
New York Giants: - Rookie WR Jalin Hyatt wants to get to 190lbs as his playing weight
- TE Darren Waller is happy to somewhere where his opinions are valued
- QB Daniel Jones is enjoying working with TE Darren Waller
- HC Brian Daboll will not speak on contract situations despite currently Barkley situation
It seems that everything is going great except the Saquon Barkley situation. There isn’t much new insight into it either after HC Daboll refused to speak on anything contract related. In good news it seems like TE Darren Waller is really enjoying being with the team and working with QB Daniel Jones. This is a team to me that is going to play inspired football like they did last year no matter what is going on because their HC.
New York Jets: - QB Aaron Rodgers had minor calf strain
- WR Allen Lazard went down during OTAs but supposedly was just a shot to the groin
- Worked out P Matt Araiza
- Chuck Clark was happy to be traded because felt disrespected by the Ravens
- HC Robert Saleh is confident a deal will get done with Quinnen Williams
- Will have joint practices with the Buccaneers
I imagine Jets fans held their breath when they saw Aaron Rodgers get injured as well as Allen Lazard. The good news is that those are not going to be issues in the long run. However, it reminded us all that QB Aaron Rodgers is not a young guy anymore and there is always the possibility that he like any other player in the NFL can get hurt. Hopefully the deal with Quinnen Williams can get done sooner rather than later. I am looking forward to the joint practices with the Bucs because they have a solid defense and it will be fun to hear how they fare in the early phases of implementing a lot of things from both Nathaniel Hackett and Aaron Rodgers.
Philadelphia Eagles: - OL D.J. Fluker worked out for the Eagles
- DL Jordan Davis has made major strides this offseason will take on a larger role
Jordan Davis is going to be a key piece for the team this year in my opinion so it is great to hear he has made major strides. He is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to his sheer size and the more he can be weaponized the better.
Pittsburgh Steelers: - Signed:
- EDGE Markus Golden to 1-year deal
- LB Toby Ndukwe
- Easy decision for QB Mitch Trubisky to sign extension
- Started contract talks with OLB Alex Highsmith
- Released Tae Crowder
- Want to play a regular season game in Ireland
- WR Allen Robinson has been very impressed so far by QB Kenny Pickett
- QB Kenny Pickett had his car stolen with his playbook inside of it
Great move to get Markus Golden. He can be dangerous in this defense and is only one season removed from a double digit sack year. Also, good to see that Robinson and Pickett appear to be getting along. I am curious to see who shakes out to be the #1 receiver on this team but have a feeling it will end up being Pickens because of how good he was last year and the chemistry he and Pickett already have. A QB likes it when his receiver makes life easier and bails him out. Pickens has already done that on multiple occasions for him.
San Francisco 49ers: - QB Trey Lance just wants a chance to compete and never considered being traded
- Raved about this time working with QB Patrick Mahomes
- QB Brock Purdy expected to start throwing next week, be able to go from gripping a towel to an actual football
- QB Sam Darnold will push to start come week 1
- Levi’s will officially get the Super Bowl in 2026
- LB Dre Greenlaw has a thumb procedure and will miss most of the OTAs this offseason
- Will have joint practices with the Raiders
It is official the 49ers will host the 2026 Super Bowl! After speculations and rumors it finally became official this past week. Also, there was a lot of good QB news this week with all 3 of the QBs on the roster. Sounds like Brock Purdy is healing properly and as expected, Trey Lance is looking really good in OTAs along with Sam Darnold. Once again this offseason no one is sure who will be starting for the team come week 1.
Seattle Seahawks: - WR DK Metcalf challenged WR Tyreek Hill
- CB Tariq Woolen had arthroscopic knee surgery and it out til training camp
- Signed:
Good news for Seahawks fan that Tariq Woolen will be back around training camp time after his procedure. Other than that there was not much news here. They got a solid rotational/depth player in Artie Burns though.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: - Video of QB Baker Mayfield making an overthrow went viral on social media
- Will have joint practices with the Jets
- WR Chris Godwin feels like he has a lot of his explosion back
- Team wants to see more consistency out of LB Devin White before offering him the contract he wants
Great to see that Tampa has joint practices with the Jets. They have a tough defense and it will be good for Baker and the offense to get some work against that defense early on. The Bucs have some great weapons on the offensive side of the ball to really compete with those top defenses and if they can all stay healthy this team could be a dark horse team to watch. Overall this should be a good all around team.
Tennessee Titans: - QB Will Levis is putting pressure on Tannehil and Willis in OTAs this far
- S Kevin Byard is skipping OTAs
Interesting to see that S Kevin Byard was not at OTAs after earlier this offseason it was rumored he was asked to take a pay cut. Definitely a situation to watch. The main news that came from OTAs is that QB Will Levis appears to be looking good and some folks think he could be putting pressure on Tannehill early on and moving himself up the depth chart.
Washington Commanders: - HC Ron Rivera said that DE Chase Young understands them not picking up his 5th year option
- New OC Eric Bieniemy has been getting on young QB Sam Howell holding him accountable
- Trademark application was denied due to someone else already having pending applications for the name but the team is confident this issue will get resolved
- It has been good for QB Sam Howell that QB Jacoby Brissett has been in the building
- TE Amani Rodgers tore his ACL and is out indefinitely
- Released Nathan Gerry
- Jamin Davis limited in OTAs after knee procedure
- Financing needs to be adjusted in order for the Josh Harris bid to be accepted
- Signed:
Feels like a lot happened with the Commanders. First off, I think QB Sam Howell is in a great spot to learn and develop this year with mentors like Jacoby Brissett and then his OC Eric Bieniemy. They will hold him accountable like has already been happening and help bring out the best in him. Now it definitely is an organization surrounded by distractions. First off the trademark application for the team’s name was denied and they hope to get something figured out but could lead to another name change. Also, the team is still working through the Josh Harris bid and there need to be some adjustments in order for it to get accepted by the other NFL Owners and the league. These distractions even though they may not always be good for the team they probably do help a young quarterback because he is not the only thing to talk about at this point in the offseason.
Miscellaneous/Other NFL News: - Many believe that Thursday Night Flexing is to cater to Amazon but really could be the future of how deals get done
- Teams have to have 28 days notice and this is currently just a 1 year move
- RB Jeremy Hill who has not played for the past 5 seasons officially retired siting injury issues leading to his retirement
- NFL injury data shows that turf fields are significantly worse for players than grass fields
- The Pat McAfee Show will be taking over Max Kellerman’s the time slot on ESPN
- Commissioner Roger Goodell’s lobbying convinced teams to vote in favor of the new kickoff rules
- Dr. Timoth Kremchek, the Cincinnati Reds' physician since 1996, says he sees an "epidemic" of youth injuries on artificial turf
- RB Adrian Peterson will be hanging it up if he’s not back in the NFL this season
- After Goodell’s retirement the NFL could change the structure of management for the NFL combining a traditional CEO with a Commissioner of Football
- Possible a team will play 3 back to back games in Europe in the future
- Devin McCourty will be joining NBC’s Sunday Night Football crew as an analyst
- Officially approved emergency 3rd QB rule
- Investigating further violations potentially of league gambling policy
- DirecTV will still distribute Sunday Ticket to bars and restaurants
- S Tony Jefferson announced his retirement
- Announced growth of global market program
Restaurant of the Week: (Washington D.C. - TACOS 5 DE MAYO) Don’t really have a great picture of this place but that may be a good thing. Often times I find that the places least advertised and that are holes in the wall is typically where you get the best Mexican food. This place is about a 10 minute drive from the stadium and probably closer to 15-20 minutes on game days depending on the time you go. Personally I recommend the Tacos Al Pastor. Those are basically a marinated pork taco that is slightly spicy with some sweet pineapple flavor in it. You cannot go wrong with Tacos Al Pastor and are by far my favorite. The other thing to keep an eye on is the Pupusas. While Pupusas are from El Salvador this place actually does a pretty dang good job of making them. For those that don’t know what Pupusas are they kind of resemble a stuffed pancake but are made of corn in most cases stuffed with either just cheese, cheese and beans, or cheese and pork. My order here would be 3 tacos al pastor and a cheese and bean pupusa. Enjoy!

2023.05.29 15:00 Top_Culture_9625 How to screw in a lightbulb
Ah, certainly! Here's a needlessly complicated guide to screwing in a light bulb:
- Prepare the Illumination Space:
- Begin by ensuring the light switch is in the "off" position.
- Create an ambiance suitable for bulb installation by playing classical music softly in the background.
- Light a scented candle to set a serene atmosphere.
- Assemble the Tools:
- Don a pair of clean, white cotton gloves to maintain a pristine grip on the bulb and enhance the aesthetic experience.
- Retrieve a Phillips head screwdriver, a step stool, and a pair of safety goggles to protect your eyes from any potential flying debris.
- Ascend the Step Stool:
- Approach the step stool with utmost caution, employing proper posture and maintaining a firm grip on the railing.
- Slowly climb the steps, ensuring each foot is securely planted before proceeding to the next step.
- Take a deep breath, focusing your energy on the task ahead.
- Assess the Bulb Receptacle:
- Gently examine the light fixture, making note of any accumulated dust or debris.
- Employ a non-abrasive cloth to carefully clean the receptacle, ensuring a pristine environment for the new bulb.
- Retrieve the Bulb:
- Navigate to your designated bulb storage area, employing a GPS device if necessary to avoid unnecessary wandering.
- Select the appropriate light bulb, considering wattage, color temperature, and lumens to optimize your lighting experience.
- Cradle the bulb in your gloved hand, treating it as a fragile work of art.
- Align the Bulb:
- Position yourself directly underneath the light fixture, allowing gravity to work in your favor.
- With the utmost precision, align the bulb's threads with the receptacle's threads.
- Begin rotating the bulb in a clockwise direction, using the gentlest touch to avoid damaging the threads.
- Achieve Optimal Tightness:
- Gauge the resistance encountered while turning the bulb and strive for the perfect balance of tightness.
- Do not overtighten, as this may cause stress on the fixture or bulb.
- Conversely, do not leave the bulb too loose, as it may result in unreliable electrical connectivity.
- Descend the Step Stool:
- Slowly and cautiously descend the step stool, maintaining your focus and balance throughout.
- Ensure each foot is placed firmly on the ground before shifting your weight.
- Illuminate and Appreciate:
- Switch the light on, reveling in the symphony of illumination that graces your surroundings.
- Take a moment to appreciate the delicate dance between artistry and functionality that a properly installed light bulb offers.
Remember, while this guide may be needlessly complicated, the actual process of screwing in a light bulb is quite simple and straightforward. Exercise caution and use common sense to ensure your safety during any DIY tasks.

2023.05.29 15:00 0106lonenyc I don't know how to handle relationships with straight guys because I grew up in a toxic culture.
So, I'm g ay, and I've always felt that I have strong feelings about people - I'm not "emotional" in the sense that is commonly attached to the word, I don't go around crying and whining and being overly dramatic, but I just get really attached to people. I am very selective with them and once they're in "my circle" I open up completely and I like talking with them about my deepest feelings.
Yet I grew up in a toxic and very s exist country/culture where men are supposed to essentially be stolid rocks who only think with their p enis and outwardly showing strong emotions is feminine. Media depictions of bro culture and stereotypical male/female couple dynamics didn't help. Therefore, as a g ay person, I was always afraid of showing my true self because I thought it would "expose my cover", or I'd be judged negatively, and I always steered away from relationships with straight guys because I thought they'd be shallow and I could never form a true bond with them.
On the other hand, I also came to be bored of friendships with women because I would sort of give their feelings for granted - I knew women were supposed to show affection and care, therefore if they did it didn't really feel "true", it just felt like a social role they had to perform with me.
Basically I've rarely if ever truly felt loved and cared for by someone.
Now that I've moved to a place where males (and females) are a lot more emotionally mature, I found out that indeed straight males can have deep feelings and truly care about you as well. And that drives me crazy because I literally don't know how to handle it. I'm supposed to be manly and tough - I'm not supposed to talk to them about my fears, my worries and my weaknesses. How do I do it?
It also makes me so sad because it's something I've always needed and missed so much. Affection from females and g ay males feels obvious. Affection from straight males is so strange and weird and at the same time it feels so special.
