Apologies if this is against the rules mods, not seeing it. I am a fairly novice player and want some advice on going forward. I have been playing the game about a week and half and have just got to tempest. The following is what I have going on:

I didn't do the boss races because I thought they were just to tease me into buying the nitrous. I have read a good amount of this sub in the past few days and understand I need to be patient and plan out Tempest and moving forward. I have seen some guides on Tempest but still not following them completely and unsure the best way for me to move forward.
Overall questions:

1. What should I do to prepare for Tempest? I think I need to spend my money down for a cheaper beginning. On what though?
2. Are any of the cars I have going to be good to "elite" or do the tempest races? Perhaps an answer to number 1.
3. Does everyone just live races when there aren't any others going on? Seems like it would take forever to get money if you are only getting $13k or so per race...

In September 2021, Patently Apple posted a report titled "Apple is Reportedly Designing Various Embedded Subsystems across all Operating Systems using RISC-V." The report noted that "With Apple designing their own mobile and PC processors, the company is now exploring and developing various embedded subsystems across all Operating Systems using RISC-V. The emerging Open Source RISC-V architecture is now being used by companies like Nvidia, Google, Oculus, Qualcomm, Rambus and others for IoT devices to supercomputers, smartwatches and autonomous vehicles. Amazon and Alibaba are currently designing their own cloud and data center chips. Recently Apple was shown to be recruiting RISC-V "high-performance programmers."

A group of big tech companies are known to now be working against Softbank's Arm, that is used by Apple and others for advanced mobile processors. Today we're learning that Samsung, Google, Intel, Qualcomm and "others" are promoting the use of RISC-V.
Yesterday, Samsung announced that it would serve as a steering board member of the RISC-V Software Ecosystem (RISE), an open source software development project launched by the nonprofit Linux Foundation. RISE is an organization launched to develop software using RISC-V. Participants include global IT and semiconductor giants such as Samsung Electronics, Google, Intel, Nvidia, and Qualcomm.
RISC-V has been evaluated as the best alternative for companies looking to leave ARM. Founded in 2010 by researchers at UC Berkeley, RISC-V is able to produce semiconductors with similar performances to those of ARM chips. But it can decrease chip areas by about 50 percent and chip power consumption by 60 percent. Best of all, because RISC-V is open source, no one company can own semiconductor design assets like ARM does. Therefore, it requires no licensing fees. For these reasons, IT and semiconductor companies have been promoting RISC-V as an alternative.
RISC-V is yielding positive tangible results. Qualcomm began loading its Snapdragon 865 with a RISC-V microcontroller in 2019. So far, it has shipped about 650 million RISC-V cores for mobile devices, automobiles, and IoT applications. Google expressed its hope that RISC-V will become an Android tier 1 platform like ARM.
The rise in use of RISC-V could dramatically increase over the next two years. Softbank's ARM is about to go public in an effort to boost its profitability. The company is reportedly considering charging a license fee per device instead of per chip. Devices are more expensive than chips, so applying the same percentage to devices for license fees will be able to generate much more revenue for ARM than applying it to chips.
More importantly, ARM also plans to force companies to use only ARM designs starting from 2024. For example, Samsung uses an ARM design and AMD’s graphics core to make Exynos chips for smartphones but will not be able to do so in the future. This was known during ARM’s lawsuit against Qualcomm.
The Korean article leaves us hanging. Will Samsung Electronics, Google, Intel, Nvidia, and Qualcomm announce a new consortium promoting RISC-V? We began our report pointing to Apple working on RISC-V systems as well. Will Apple work independently on RISV-C based processors? Will they silently join this possible new consortium? Or will they work out a better deal with ARM considering that other big tech companies will be curbing and eventually stopping their use of Arm architectures in the future.
This is another mega trend to stay on top of. Will Qualcomm's next-gen Oryon chip designed to take on Apple's M and A Series processors use RISC-V to decrease chip areas by about 50 percent and reduce chip power consumption by 60 percent? Was the delay of the Qualcomm chip from their NUVIA team due to their ongoing court battle with Softbank's Arm? And more importantly, did this nasty court battle push Qualcomm to switch to RISC-V for their Oryon processor?
With Apple, Samsung Electronics, Google, Intel, Nvidia and Qualcomm known to be working on RISC-V systems, we could see a major tectonic shift away from Arm in the not too distant future if Arm executes on the policies that they've laid out.
We may learn more about Qualcomm's Oryon architecture later this year or at CES 2024. At that point we'll know if Qualcomm made the shift to RISC-V or not. If they have made the shift, then it's likely to set off a major industry wide ripple effect.
Apple's past major shifts occurred when they shifted away from the Motorola-IBM PowerPC to Intel's x86 architecture and then from x86 architecture to their own M-Series processors to power Macs and iPads. Apple has used Arm-based processor from the start for the iPhone. A shift to RISC-V would be a major undertaking and it's unknown at this time if Apple could make this kind of shift to RISC-V for the iPhone. Unlike Qualcomm's Oryon that's a new chip architecture from scratch, it could be a much harder shift for Apple that has a massive device base. Then again, never underestimate what Apple is capable of.
In the end, the Korea article seemed to be a sort of alarm bell signifying that a major tectonic shift was in-the-making. We'll know soon enough it actually materializes.

Six seasons after our last throwback, don't you think it's time for another? Well, over here at Party of One we invite you to: The Investigation 2.0! In a throwback to our second-ever season, we will be revisiting the same premise. For those unfamiliar, PoO is a constantly FFA recorded UHC event uploaded here on the ultrahardcore subreddit. Our second season consisted of mystery scenarios being stacked up over time, and our twelfth season is going to be the same! This is also our last season played in version 1.8 — just to add to the throwbackiness of it all.

Mystery Scenarios — Players will not know what scenarios are active, only that doing certain things in the game will unlock the repercussions of said scenarios. Head over to the Reddit posts to see which scens are active this episode.
Scenario Stackup — A new scenario is added each episode until episode 7, when players meetup.

Active Scenarios (Episode 4):

Best PvE- Players gain one heart of health every ten minutes if they avoid taking damage. Getting a kill can put you back on the list to attain hearts if you had fallen off the list.
Enchanting Death- Enchant tables are no longer craftable. Instead, players drop an enchant table upon death.
Blood Enchants- Enchanting an item deals 5% of your health in damage.
Time Flies- Daylight and nighttime cycles are sped up to 5 minutes each. As a result, permaday will not be enabled.

Per usual, zoom mods, c-counter, arrow counter and fullbright were all disallowed. PvP was enabled after 30 minutes, and meetup was called at the start of episode 7.

Out of curiosity, I plugged this into GPT4 and it didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know. I've been a fan of magic for a long time, and am finally sinking my teeth in with an EDH local playgroup. The problem: deck selection.
I'm looking to see what folks have assembled in the past on budgets of around $100 that aren't just linear interaction decks (solitaire combos, salt, empty hand aggro, etc.)
So far I've been looking at Nahiri Equipment and Esper Artifacts with Ursa, as both seem very cool - but I don't have a clue as to how powerful they can be at a non-cEDH table (or cEDH, who knows).
I'd be much obliged to see what all ideas and decks folks have come up with prior, or what kinds of commanders people think would be a good place to start!

Okay, bear with me on this one, as it's just as much of a rant as it is a support question.
Just a little bit of background so you know what I am trying to achieve and why, I am a Software Engineering student who mostly uses their computer to write software and school stuff. As a whole, I find myself using WSL more than Windows itself a lot, however, as a gamer, I find it hard to fully move to Linux, knowing how much of a nightmare it can be to get started with gaming. I have had all my games stored in an external HDD for a few years already and I rarely find myself playing games when not plugged onto it.
Since moving to Windows 11 is becoming increasingly inevitable, and I dislike some of its features, I am seriously considering moving fully onto Linux with my main machine, a laptop. However, I do not want to give up the ease that Windows has for gaming.
I am wondering, what ideas other people might have as to how to run Windows from an external drive. My guess is while Linux could be installed on my main SSD (inside the laptop), the windows install could recognize the external HDD as C:\, booting from it, using it as the main drive, while my internal drive is recognized as an additional drive (or just non-existant would also be fine).
However, I have 0 experiences with running multiple OS, or even installing them, so this whole ordeal is new to me and I would like some guidance. I would like to remark, I am studying software engineering, and I do know what I am doing, and I am willing to sacrifice some comfort in booting up maybe through the BIOS every time I need to boot Windows.

After researching quite a bit, I think I have finally found the top 2 laptops that would be perfect for me.
First is the MacBook Pro M2, which I already have, and the second is the Asus VivoBook K5504VA. I will be using this laptop to complete my degree in computer science, and I'll just be using it for programming in general even outside of college. I will not play any games on it.
As I said, I do have the MacBook right now, but I did not do my homework and I realized that the college I'm going to is PC based which means I may have problems. Now, there will always be work-arounds, but it's just going to be a major inconvenience at times.
With the MacBook I'm using to type this now, I love the keyboard, trackpad, screen, battery life, speakers, CPU power, resale value, literally everything I love...... well besides one thing, which is that dual-booting can't be done.
I'm not too familiar with the VivoBook and if it's any good. I'm not sure if it is new but I cannot find any videos on YouTube covering it, besides the one that was just released a couple hours ago here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeWUYI8ZtDM
Anyways, I'm just looking for someones opinion. I prefer switching back over to Windows, but I am also willing to sacrifice the Windows OS for an amazing computer externally. Someone who is knowledgeable in computers, what do you think? The VivoBook honestly sounds like an insane deal (but maybe that's just because I spent $2k on a Mac lol.). $1100 for an i9 with 16gb ddr5, 120hz 600nit screen, etc. I'm just not too sure about the build quality. I mainly went for the Mac because I knew it could last me 5-10 years if I took care of it.
