2023.05.29 14:51 Edggie_Reggie [TotK] TotK Timeline Placement Theory. Answering the Rito Problem, Imprisoning War & First Monarchs of Hyrule

(Reposting for different title) This is a very long post, so bear with me.
The Legend of Zelda timeline doesn’t make sense. Thanks to voice lines from every single sage, we know that the flashbacks take place during the Imprisoning War, which takes place in the Fallen Timeline of the franchise. The earlier flashbacks closely echo some of the events of Ocarina of Time, with the introduction of Ganondorf and Zelda taking the place of link in warning the king and queen of Ganondorf’s ill intentions. It sort of makes sense, since there doesn’t appear to be a Link/someone possessing the Spirit of the Hero in this era. However, this cannot possibly be the Imprisoning War, since Rauru said that he and Sonia were the first king and queen of Hyrule. That would mean that the flashbacks take place long before the events of The Minish Cap, possibly thousands of years before OoT. Furthermore, the Rito are fully fledged beings, and yet they don’t appear to exist until the events of Wind Waker, which is an alternate timeline – the Adult Timeline. From several games in the Fallen timeline, the Zora are shown to be nothing more than mindless monsters, such as in A Link Between Worlds, and yet in OoT, they are fully sentient beings.
I think I know a way to explain almost everything I mentioned above. Breath of the Wild seems to bridge all three alternate timelines: there are sentient Zora, fully fledged Rito, the Imprisoning War, etc. and several millennia have passed between BotW and the earlier games. But there’s more. I believe that the change from sentient Zora to mindless monsters happened due to the carnage of the Imprisoning War. I think it’s possible that the War resulted in the loss of Zora leadership, leading to the apparent “savagery” (for lack of better words) in the Zora in the Fallen Timeline. In the book, The Lord of the Flies, a large group of schoolboys find themselves alone on an island with no adults. Over the course of the book, they become less ‘civilised’, more barbaric and ‘savage’. I believe this could be an explanation for what happened to the Zora. It’s not a perfect explanation, but, at least to me, it works. What isn’t quite explainable, however, is how the Imprisoning War could occur during the reign of the first Hyrulian Royal family, or how the Rito could exist that far back in the timeline. How could these three ‘things’ exist simultaneously?
Well, dear Redditiors, Zelda fans and theorists, I would like to propose to you that they can exist simultaneously. In the Twilight Princess, you can find a carving which appears to depict the Rito. But how could that be? Surely the Rito didn’t exist in this timeline? In this section in the timeline, yes, but what about earlier? Much, much earlier. What if, now hear me out, what if the Rito, as we know, love, and hate them, already existed? How did they did they disappear so soon after founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule and before The Minish Cap? Well, if in just a few centuries, the Kokiri can evolve/change/mutate into the Koroks and the Zora into the Rito, why couldn’t the Rito themselves evolve/change/mutate following the Imprisoning War? If you’re wondering how that could possibly be the case, when the Rito have never featured in the Fallen Timeline, I’m here to tell you that I’m not talking about that Imprisoning War. I’m taking about a different one.
I believe that the Imprisoning War that featured in TotK and the one in the Fallen Timeline are, in fact, two separate events. I believe that the Imprisoning War in TotK was the First Imprisoning War. If you’re wondering how that’s possible when the villain is so clearly Ganondorf, who was first introduced in OoT, well, why couldn’t it be a different Gerudo male called Ganondorf? In BotW, Urbosa said that a Gerudo male once took the form of Ganon. It makes sense that she would be referring to OoT Ganondorf. If it happened more than once, surely, she would have said so? Not really, no. Remember, more than 10,000 years have passed between games. History can become lost to time. Let’s take another look at the glyph depicting two dragons, each consuming the other’s tail. It looks identical to the symbol of an Ouroboros Cycle – a continuous cycle of events. But here’s the thing, there are two dragons, not one. It’s possible this refers to more than one continuous cycle. There’s the cycle born from the Demon King’s Curse, but there’s more. Shortly after the founding of Hyrule, Ganondorf is sealed away in the Imprisoning War, 10,000 years later is the First Great Calamity. 10,000 years after that is the Second Great Calamity. 20,000 years before TotK, the Rito existed, then they disappeared. Several thousand years later, they reappeared. Ganondorf rose to power and was defeated in a war, thousands of years later, in OoT a Ganondorf rose again, and was defeated, again. Here’s what I believe happened. In the early years of the kingdom of Hyrule’s founding, the Rito, as we know them in BotW, existed, the Zora were sentient, everything was as it was in the flashbacks in Tears of the Kingdom. When the first Ganondorf rose to power and began his war on Hyrule, I believe it’s possible that, knowing the Rito have an advantage with their flight and are skilled archers, a portion of Ganondorf’s resources were spent to nullify the Rito’s advantage as much as possible. As a result, the remaining Rito fled to the rockspires in the middle of Lake Totori – a very defensive position. Also, take a moment to examine Rito Village’s location. It’s in Hebra. Playing as Link, you need cold resistance clothing or food, so you don’t take freeze. For the Gerudo, who lived in the desert, I expect the cold temperatures would’ve been unbearable. Despite this, the Rito sage did not falter and offered his allegiance to Rauru.
Hyrule succeeded in stopping Ganondorf, but it came at a heavy price: both Hyrulian monarchs were dead, and Ganondorf would return. Now, here comes the heavy speculation (mostly hearsay). If the First Imprisoning War echoes the events of the Second, there must have been a Spirit of the Hero. I think the Spirit of the Hero was Rauru. My evidence for which is that Sonia is likely a descendant of Skyward Sword’s Zelda, and there is always some connection between a Zelda – the incarnation/descendent of the goddess Hylia – and her chosen hero (that’s literally about it). But Rauru, possessing the Spirit of the Hero, and Sonia, the blood of the goddess, were killed. (Side note: Rauru and Soina mentioned that Zelda was their direct descendent, but we never see nor hear of them having any children. Nothing important for this theory, just interesting.) As for the Rito, their population was decimated. There were so few of them left, they decided to look outside of Hebra to keep their numbers. As seen from the carvings in Twilight Princess, they may have had some success, with the best results coming from coupling with Hylians (and possibly Zora? (don’t try to think about this too much)), but in the end, it was a fruitless endeavour. Long before the events of The Minish Cap transpired, the last resemblance of the Rito vanished. But for the rest of Hyrule, life moved on. And the Demon Curse continued to harass the Spirit of the Hero and the Princess of Hyrule. (How could the curse persist when Ganondorf was still alive? Even though he was technically still alive, I think he was dead enough that the timeline could move on.)
Fast forward thousands of years into the future to the events of the Ocarina of Time, another Ganondorf was born to the Gerudo, the first Gerudo male born in 100 years. He began another war against Hyrule, ruling the kingdom for seven years before he was defeated by Link and sealed away. In the Adult Timeline, the Hero of Time was returned to the past, so when Ganondorf returned, Hyrule was left without a Hero. The sages sealed Ganondorf away again, in a different Imprisoning War to the one in the Fallen Timeline. The Gods flooded Hyrule, creating the Great Sea, and… the Zora became the Rito? Among the many things that don’t make sense, why water-adept beings evolved to have flight is a mystery, unless, of course, the Zora lived in fresh water and couldn’t tolerate salt water. It always confused me as to why the Rito in WW looked more like Hylians than Zora, even if a few centuries had passed. Furthermore, the Rito only “got their wings” from a dragon scale. I have little evidence for this, other than speculation, but I think it’s likely that the Rito evolved from the Hylians and Zora who had even the faintest of traces of Rito DNA, back from the aftermath of the First Imprisoning War. Remember what King Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule said in WW, that the Gods told some people to go to the highest peaks. But why not all of them? That I do not know. Maybe a YouTuber has already covered it.
Nevertheless, over the centuries, the Rito evolved to the ones we know in BotW, the Great Sea drained and Hyrule returned to the surface. People returned to Hyrule and started their civilisation anew. Thousands of years after this, the First Great Calamity occurred. 10,000 years later, the Second Great Calamity. In the months following the Second Great Calamity, Ganondorf was reawakened, as were the sages. The ancestors of the BotW sages appeared to each of their descendants and told them the story of the Imprisoning War. The First Imprisoning War.
The greatest issue in writing this theory was the existence of the Rito in the Imprisoning War. With only the carvings hinting to their existence in the Timeline before the split in OoT in Twilight Princess, the Rito only featured in the Adult Timeline. Is this theory perfect? No, definitely not. But does it work? Somehow, kind of. The Rito must have existed at the founding of the Kingdom of Hyrule, yet they never feature in a game until Wind Waker. We learn that the Rito evolved from the Zora after the gods drowned Hyrule. However, they must have existed at some point prior to Ocarina of Time due to the carvings seen in Twilight Princess, but they weren’t the Rito in WW, BotW or even the flashbacks in TotK. I’m sure I’ve missed many things that support and contradict this theory.
Much of it is just hearsay, but it’s the best I’ve got. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.

Just bought this French Régence set! [3000x3000]
A French chess set made in the "Régence" pattern, named after the famous Café de la Régence in Paris. The pieces are turned from boxwood or fruitwood, most likely made in the late 18th or early 19th century in the St. Claude region (Jura) in France.
The Café de la Régence was the center of chess in ancient Paris. The café was founded in 1681 as one of the first coffee houses in Paris under the name Café de la Place du Palais-Royal. It was located between the Rue Saint-Honoré and the Place du Palais-Royal. It was renamed Café de la Régence in 1715 at the earliest, as the new name referred to the era of the regency (La Régence), which lasted from 1715 to 1723, when the Duke of Orléans ruled over the young king Louis XV, who was still a minor. The Café de la Régence attracted players like Voltaire, Rousseau, Stamma and Philidor, Ben Franklin, Robespierre, Napoleon, Harrwitz and Morphy.

2023.05.29 14:00 FerroLux_ 1000€ new gaming pc

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
Mostly gaming, but also regular web browsing, watching shows, but also I’ll use it to keep some files for my university. I plan play a lot of genres of games: Elden Ring, Forza Horizon 5, COD MW2, Mordhau, Mount&Blade 2 Bannerlord, Starfield, Manor Lords, Crusader Kings.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
1000€
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
Possibly within this summer, I’m not aiming to top of the line equipment anyway
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Everything but keyboard, mouse and headphones.
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
I’m going to purchase this in Italy
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
Razer Ornata Chroma keyboard
Logitech G402 Gaming Mouse
HyperX Cloud II gaming headphones
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
No
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
An SSD would be appreciated, possibly 1TB of space
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for theme preference for the components?
No, I’d like to “optimize” the price-performance ratio, so I don’t want any unnecessary fluff like RGB lighting or things like that. As long as the case is good enough to fit the components well and has good ventilation it’s fine
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
Yes, a copy of Windows 11
*Extra info for particulars
As I’ve said no RGB as it usually inflates prices for no reason at all. I don’t need my build to be necessarily look good to the eye

2023.05.29 12:46 MenuSpiritual2990 My buns are terrified of me

I have two bonded pairs of mini lops. They are all 2 years old. I have owned them for 18 months.
Living environment
They don’t get along so I have divided my large backyard in half.
Each pair occupies an area of about 2500 square feet consisting of lawn, bushes and trees, as well as a variety of concealment and climbing structures I have made for them.
Their areas are carefully rabbit proofed. Every bit of flora is rabbit safe and there are no diseases or aerial predators they are exposed to.
They sleep in dedicated climate controlled brick structures which I lock them in to at dusk to keep them safe from the one danger I fear: foxes.
The good
I grow lettuce, kale, spinach etc to supplement their hay diet. While I’m out there gardening each day they will hop near me to investigate what I’m doing.
When I crouch down to offer them a piece of banana or apple or feijoa 3 x a week they will come close enough to snatch it from my hand (and then scamper off with it to eat it in a preferred location).
When I feed them each evening they will come close out of excitement, but scamper off if I get within 6 inches.
The Bad
Most of the time, if I walk towards them they will dash away like I’m some monster from their worst nightmares.
They never show me any affection etc. Basically I’m a terrifying giant.
I do grab them and pick them up twice a month to check them over for any issues, and groom them in summer. They seem to hate being picked up more than I can describe. Maybe that’s the source of their terror?
The question
I’ve always been extremely gentle with them. I love them and spend a lot of time and money giving them the best life I can provide.
I see other rabbits on this subreddit cuddling and kissing their owners.
Why are mine so different? Why do they fear me? To be clear I don’t need them to love me, just not be so terrified of me. I love animals and everything else I’ve cared for (dogs, cats, mice, birds, dingos, wombats, even an otter) were affectionate to me. And yet to rabbits it’s like I’m something out of a Stephen King novel. Most days I feel like Gandalf (‘I’m not trying to rob you, I’m trying to help you!’).
According to Google the answer seems to be ‘lie down on the ground with them for long periods each day’ and eventually they may be slightly less fearful of me. Is this the only option?
The slogan of this community is ‘Rabbits: the intelligent, loving and often misunderstood pet.’
TBH I’m thinking the only part that’s true for me is clearly the misunderstood part.

The Main Goal:
Well if you’re browsing this subreddit then much like me, you were alone this weekend and I’m sure you’d like to change that as much as me. I won’t lie, I am going through a rough part of my life right now. It’s difficult for me to find the energy for anything at the moment and I’m just really seeking affection in general, anything that will give me a push. I don’t want to be that person who brings everyone down but I could really use someone to talk to right now. I’d really like to find someone who’s similar to me so much to the point that we do everything together and talk about everything while not having to pretend to be interested. I want someone with whom we can mutually spew our emotions onto and have those feelings reciprocated. Not an emotional punching bag, but an emotional teddy bear to hug and cuddle until everything feels better as many times as we need. There’s people who I’m sure have told you the same, they’ll be there no matter how many times you need the support, no matter how many times the insecurities and bad thoughts come back but they don’t mean it. I will be the exception, I’m not so ignorant to think some nice words and tales of relating to you will magically forever heal whatever ails you then get mad when you seek the same support again. Mental ailments are rarely temporary and I don’t care about someone because they’re perfect, caring about someone means being there no matter how many times they need you to be. It doesn’t feel like a chore, it doesn’t get old, and it never will.

(2.a)
What I'm Seeking:
I will upfront let you know if I’m clicking better with someone else or if you’re the one, I’m not here to tread the sea of fish or keep my options open, I’m here for one singular person.
(2.b)
Relationship:
A relationship is difficult for me right now, it’s been nearly half a year since I got out of my last relationship and the reasons for it ending are partially responsible for how I’ve been feeling and why it’s so hard for me to seek the comfort I so desperately crave. I will tell you about it but for the sake of not treating the entirety of the internet as my therapist, it’ll be in private. I really need the comfort of intimacy and the warmth of someone who cares. I'm not going to feel better if I just sulk and don’t move on. This is my attempt to get better, I’ll admit I’m not great right now and I don’t expect you to be either. If we can help each other heal, then I’d be more than happy :) A relationship isn’t just being there for when someone’s at their best. Even if a relationship is hard at the moment, I do want a life partner and I don’t want to be alone. Things aren’t going to get easier without you so I don’t want to hesitate. I view my other as an equal, I don’t like categorizing us into specific roles. We take care of each other and treat each other how we like to be treated, whatever that is, it's as simple as that. I don't care if you're "successful" or not, living simple lives with our days filled with love is the ultimate measure of success to me.
(3)
Personality:
(3.a)
On the Surface:
As you can tell I can be rather… stoic but that’s largely due to my current stressors, I truthfully am goofy and fun loving but I just can’t find it in me right now. I want to return to that but without someone to light up my world it’s been difficult to just have fun and enjoy stuff. I’m definitely more introverted, you won’t catch me at any parties or really outside at all. I definitely prefer being home though the occasional outing is not out of the question and one day I’d like to travel to other countries because I think that kind of perspective is important.
(3.b)
The Core of My Being:
I like being a spectator to it all and if we bear witness to humanity burning or its miraculous recovery, I want to watch it with you. I enjoy watching humanity advance, less so when it devolves but I want to watch it to the end nonetheless. I’m both a realist and someone who lives with my head in the clouds dreaming of scenarios or worlds that don’t exist. I’m saying that I enjoy a good narrative and can suspend my disbelief to enjoy something but you won’t catch me refusing vaccines or ignoring blatant facts for the sake of some pseudo science or witch doctor’s remedy. I’m an atheist but I do not rule out existence after death, not because I’m agnostic but because due to the nature of potentially infinite time at some point after how many googol years with a googol amount of 0s after that, something’s bound to replicate your consciousness perfectly at some point. It’s actually a really fascinating topic I like talking about. If infinite time and infinite possibilities exist, does non existence exist? Though that’s an awfully existentially dreadful thought process considering the ramifications of infinite existence and infinite possibilities during said infinite existence. I would say I’m confidently left leaning and I don’t think I could truly get along with anyone right leaning, at least America’s definition of right leaning. Left and right seems to have just become; do people deserve to suffer or do they deserve to live good lives? Being political is not something I expected to become but how can you not be when crimes against human rights are being passed on a daily basis and at the end of the day, everything’s political. Oftentimes I imagine the perfect moment as relaxing with my significant other playing games or cuddling in a cold room under blankets.
I value that special someone above all of the existential thoughts, the bad of the world, the good of the world, they practically become my world. So many worries wash away when I’m with them. I don’t know if that’s the defense mechanism my brain created to not feel bad 24/7 but if it is, I’m currently without it.
(3.c)
Insecurities:
I talk of philosophy and politics here but really I spend most of my time just playing games, watching stuff, and trying to not be sleep deprived. I’m also nowhere near as well spoken, heck sometimes I feel like my speech is broken. I won’t claim to be something I’m not, I sit at home while I complain about the world doing nothing about it wishing I had someone here with me. I’m not noble nor do I really want to be, I have morals I uphold but much like most other hypocrites I acknowledge that my comfortable life is built on the suffering of others without doing anything about it. Why? My sleep problems? Am I depressed? Is that why I have no energy to do anything? Do I just think nothing I could do could help? I can’t nail it down myself, maybe it’s a mix of everything, maybe I’m just a bad person. I have always told myself that if I had wealth I would help people but if I get that kind of wealth will I just become a wealth hoarder who tries to justify my riches as something I earned rather than something given to me through incredibly lucky circumstances? If I do help people is it because I’m a good person or out of guilt? Will I die alone? I feel like I drive everyone away with my clinginess, I get paranoid often and need reassurance often. It’s something I want to work on, something I’ve been trying to work on. Hearing that someone cares about me just never gets old. I value self awareness even if it’s painful.
(3.d)
Socializing:
I’m definitely a socially anxious/awkward mess, especially around strangers. I do feel a large amount of anxiety in public, people can’t tell by looking at my face since I kind of go stone faced in an attempt to block everything out but yeah you’ll notice that if we go out in public. Growing up my pediatrician said I was probably autistic, never got a formal diagnosis so that’s just great. But yeah that explains why I can’t make eye contact with people, I kinda just stare at the ground and avoid their gaze at all costs. A lot of these social struggles go away to a great degree once I know you for a bit but yeah I apologize for how terrible I am at socializing at first. Don’t let my social struggles fool you though, I love cuddling and being close with my person.
(3.e)
Sexuality:
I am a heterosexual male, though I’m not very masculine like at all. I may even be a bit feminine sometimes. Not that I believe any activity or manner of acting belongs to a gender but I don’t know how else to describe it. I’m definitely super affectionate and love it when my partner is too. I am open to dating demi people but I do have a libido so I don't think asexual would work out.
(4)
Interests:
(4.a)
Video Games:
As stated before, I do spend a lot of my time playing video games. It’s been hard lately with me having no energy but I really do want to play more games and have a good time playing them with you! I primarily play on PC though I do have a switch. I’m primarily into platform fighters, roguelikes, open world, survival, and sandbox games. As for single player story games, I enjoy watching them through twitch or youtube but for the most part I don’t play them myself. I’d watch you play them though!
Here’s a list of games we can play:
-Minecraft (Java)
-Risk of Rain 2
-Gunfire Reborn
-Roboquest
-7 Days to Die
-Phasmophobia
-Rust
-Unturned
-Bloons TD 6
-Platform fighters: Super Smash Bros. Melee, Slap City, Multiversus, Flash Party, Fraymakers
Whatever you want to play I’ll give it a shot! I will say that League bores me to death but I’ll play it for you :) I try to avoid MMOs, not because I don’t like them but because of how addicted I can get to them. I enjoy learning games in-depth so MMOs can be a fast track to addiction.
I recently got Kerbal Space Program 2 and ehhh not really worth it right now but hopefully later it will be? I’m super excited for Tears of the Kingdom! In the far off future I’m excited for Rivals of Aether 2 which is a platform fighter releasing in 2024, let me know of your most anticipated releases and I’ll see if I could play them with you!
Also I never got into FPS games but I could totally see myself playing like CoD with you or Escape From Tarkov. Any FPS really, I’m down.
I am a fan of Pokemon but with how things have been lately I don’t know how long that will last. Pixelmon is a common Pokemon mod I play for Minecraft if you want to play that! Also if I say I want to play something with you I mean it but there are often times when no matter how much I want to I'm just drained and can do little more than lay in bed so please don't think I'm making an excuse.
(4.b)
Science:
I really enjoy keeping up with the latest advances in pretty much everything, it could be biology, technology, astronomy, anything! I love seeing progression and I love talking about it! Really I could go on and on about what I’m obsessing about that day. I particularly love technology, ask me for my laptop specs I dare you. When I was little I always wanted to be a scientist of any kind but then insomnia and fear of college stuff hit me like a truck aaaand that’s the end of that dream.
(4.c)
Anime:
You got me, I like anime but I’d like to think my tastes are benign.
Here’s some of my favorites I can list from the top of my head:
- To Your Eternity
- Vinland Saga
- Spice and Wolf
- Re:Zero
- Mob Psycho
- Dr. Stone
- Attack on Titan
- Spy x Family
- My Hero Academia
- Ranking of Kings
- Demon Slayer
Okay I can go on and on but I will say I don’t like pointless fan service and the spamming of cliche anime moments. I mostly enjoy action and anything well animated if it doesn’t have a potato story. Heck Demon Slayer could be my top 3 out of season 2’s animation alone. I don’t watch slice of life often or romance but I would with you!
(4.d)
Misc:
I’m not going to go on and on about the tiniest little things when the main ones are covered but I’ll watch pretty much any show with you and anything really. I like random youtube videos that explain some kind of lore or mystery, sometimes mini documentaries too.
As for food I looove sushi and I’m a sucker for fast food. Okay and candy, definitely candy.
I used to play tennis but haven’t really had the opportunity nor friends to play it with and I’m way too socially anxious to seek it out. Also I will say that when we move to something like discord I type waaaay more casually. I’m not going to expect long paragraphs back and forth like we’re writing English papers for each other, I do enjoy long conversations but seriously don’t worry about having to put the utmost effort into every response, I just like making good first impressions I guess.

(5.a)
My Physical Characteristics:
I’m 5’8 (172cm), 128 pounds (58kg), with curly brown hair and blue eyes. I like keeping my hair long in the winter and cutting it in the summer. I’m pretty slim in general so if you’re looking for someone large, that’s not me. I don’t work out but my work is pretty physical so at least I’m not totally inactive. I don’t have the urge to work out or gain muscle but I do want to maintain my slim figure so if I start losing control of that I’ll work out. I like to keep my face shaved because I don’t think I look good with a beard/mustache so if you’re into those I apologize. I have an average amount of body hair? I’d prefer to be completely shaved but it’s easy to lose motivation with that battle, if you prefer shaved then I’d have no problem complying. Anyways here’s what I look like: https://imgur.com/a/MZZgf2t
(5.b)
My Physical Preferences:
Having physical preferences makes me feel shallow, if I could make myself not have them I would but unfortunately that’s now how that works. I don’t care if you’re shorter or taller than me and I don’t care if you weigh more or less than me. All I ask is that you’re slim-average weight. I would never ask for someone to be something I’m not. I don’t care about tattoos or piercings.**(6)Expectations of You (Relationship Only):**I am not looking for someone “exciting” or someone to “keep me on my toes” I’m not looking for someone to cater to my every whim or anything like that. I don’t care if you’re “boring” or if you aren’t “successful”. I know it’s a common thing for people to not want a “boring” relationship and to seek something argumentative or something with constant challenges but I just want to be with you. During the exciting times, the boring times, and everything in-between, all of it will be great with you! Maybe we do argue sometimes or maybe there will be challenges but that will never be something I purposefully seek out and I don’t want that to be something you seek out either. I will not play tricks on you and I will not play mind games, I expect the same from you. We all have personal measures of success we may or may not have lived up to but what I care about most is our commitment to each other. If we have each other we can get through tough times, near the ends of our lives I want us to look back and feel that this life together was worth more than anything. That’s not saying I want us to be haphazard, I don’t want us to make poor decisions for the sake of yolo and I want us to always be rational, especially with each other. I want you to be someone I can trust to make decisions and weigh the options with a level head, I’ll try my best to live up to the same for you. Most of all I want empathy, understanding, someone to feel the utmost comfort and trust in.
(7)
Living Situation:
Currently my life is pretty relaxed, I work 3 times a week as a night shift stocker. I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my roommate but we’re looking to move into someplace larger by the end of the year if everything works out. The internet is weirdly great for Ohio too like I have fiber and later this year we’re supposed to be getting dedicated fiber so that’s neat. I’m not attached to Ohio so the ultimate goal living location wise is probably moving to a country that won’t send you into a lifetime of dealing with the repercussions from one medical emergency.
(8)
Deal Breakers:
Might as well make this simple and make it a list.
- Anti-vaxxers
- Unironically believing astrology
- Right wingers
- Hard drugs (occasional 420 and alcohol is fine, may even join you)
- Wanting children, there was a time when I was younger when I wanted children but with the state of the word that’s a definite no and I feel like I wouldn’t be able to handle the stress. I’d love a stress free life with as much time with you as possible.
- Homophobic
- Transphobic
- Racist
- Super Religious
- Don’t be a bigot and don’t deny facts.
(9)
Closing Remarks:
Well you made it, I was thinking that finding someone I’d be willing to put a lifetime of effort into at least required this much effort. If I think of anything more I’ll update the post. Also about timezones, it really doesn’t matter where in the world you are. I don’t have a sleep schedule and I have most of the week off from work so it really doesn’t matter.
I request that in your response you do put effort into it, it doesn’t have to be anywhere near as long as this but at least enough so I know that you read this and enough about you so I know why you saw potential compatibility. I will seriously read all of it and respond the best I can. I do also request a pic included in your response (sfw please) or one soon after we start talking to prove identity, I’ll send identity proving pics too. As long as this post is up, you can send a reply!

2023.05.29 11:35 tinmun Hospitality groups (parent company of pubs/bars)

I've found that most of the venues run by the same hospitality group tend to have a very similar vibe/style in the sense that if I like one, I'll like the others, and also if I don't like one, I end up not liking the others. This is useful for finding your new favourite or skipping a bad one based on your taste.
Here's the list:
Do you know of any other hospitality group in Sydney with more than a few venues? share it here!

Double On Double And Other Anomalies

https://preview.redd.it/gbz8rh87hr2b1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=b69f813de1757491b8e61addeefb873e3fc7245a
The books are filled with "topics" we didn't notice.
Some can only be perceived once you encounter an "anomaly".
The problem is, everyone has "the book deal mind".
I suppose I'm not sure that's actually true of women. They're a little more complicated than the men.
Trickier perhaps. Maybe due to less muscle mass, they evolved to use observations of overall behavior in a group, to gain an advantage for themselves.
Whereas the men got obsessed with beating their enemies to death. You'd think some men would realize they aren't going to be able to beat the Arnold Swartznegger head chimp to death, but by male definition they only win if they dominate. So it's hard for them to notice the pointlessness of direct conflict. They'll just do it "on paper" or by some other roundabout way. Still trying to dominate, if not politely.
I believe the women are not quite like that, but it's beyond my understanding to know what's going on with them. Cholita has taught me that.
It could be fun to explore in cartoons. In fact, I got a series of mini-cartoons just now, and stopped to write down what I saw. One of them a cartoon, about receiving cartoons from the air.
Now lost.
In Silent Knowledge, you are so silent that you aren't tampering with what presents itself to your awareness.
I prefer to use darkness as an aide, but the same principle applies to practicing in full sunlight.
That's just a bit more difficult.
You gaze into the darkness in your normal state, as a beginner, and you end up thinking about your daily life in tedious detail.
So that even if Tinkerbell the fairy herself flew up to your nose, you wouldn't notice it.
It's a sad loss, since the whole point of Tinkerbell is the costumes. Typically a tutu miniskirt.
You rarely see those outside Rodeo Drive!
It doesn't help that "Tink" resides in the green zone of the J curve, and onward. She can't become visible to those up in the blue line region near the shoulder blades.
There just isn't enough "overlap" in awareness. We live in an infinite universe of possible realties, each one an extremely tiny portion of the dark sea of the emanations. And in that space there's actually no space. Or time, or physical matter.
So even discussing the arrangement of reality is next to impossible.
For instance I thought the emanations were infinite lines.
But someone found a passage suggesting they're more like fragments, which can get stuck in our luminous shell.
And that's what I see 90% of the time. Fragments.
In the air all around you. It's inevitable to see those.
But I also see the super long line form. And we read about that in the book, where Carlos goes to a special cave, to slow down his perception using the cave to induce a "lull". And then he sees the "lines of the world".
I suppose the problem is we're up at the blue line of the J curve, where action versus reaction is king, and we're trying to use that point of view to understand something fluid. Alternate realities.
The one we're used to makes it seem like nothing else can exist, because it's self-referential. Just about anything you can think about your daily world, gets back to those things that don't actually exist at all. Time, space, and solid matter.
We're totally out of luck to understand how sorcery is possible, up there.
And yet, each night while asleep we wander around in those alternate realities as if they were completely real.
But accepting that those perceptions are not less valid than the ones we have in our waking life, is very difficult until you run into some kind of "anomaly" you can't explain.
Such as Cholita lifting you up into the air with one finger.
A violation of what we understand about action/reaction.
And just to add to the puzzle, in the world of sorcery reaction can come before the action that caused it.
But that's a different topic.
Just a little tip.
Once you can see colors as a result of doing tensegrity in darkness and silence, be sure to "look around" a tiny bit before you start the next pass, to see the potential visible results of what you are about to do.
Just like in Star Wars, sorcerers can see a tiny bit into the future.
And that's a good time to play with that ability, as long as it comes from silence and not "the book deal mind".
So as not to worry beginners too much with all this nonsense, consider AM radio versus FM.
The world of FM radio is vast! At least, compared to old fashioned AM radio.
And if all you have is an AM radio tuner, and have never encountered all those other radio bands available with FM, it might sound hard to believe such a thing can exist.
You first want to know, "So where is it? You told me all these AM stations are floating in the air right in front of me. And I can tune them in with the knob on the radio. So why do I hear no trace of all the others you claim are right there in the same space?"
If you know anything about electronics, the analogy might seem misguided. But in fact, it's not. Both the AM radio and the FM radio take in "energy" in front of them, it flows in wires and circuits, and produces flows of energy in other wires and circuits. Ultimately leading to the speakers.
The problem is, the AM radio circuit paths are designed to ignore the FM signals. And the FM signal paths are designed to tune out the AM.
Otherwise, we couldn't have "separate realities".
The very same thing happens with perception.
Right there in the air in front of you are amazing channels of activity and entertainment, some even sharing relatively the same "frequencies" at times.
But they just won't tune in if the equipment isn't designed to extract them. If the pathways for energy are not producing the right interplay to convert the information into something to produce the final perceptions.
In the end, it's all about the interplay. And that's what "The Eagle" itself is interested in.
That interplay.
So imagine yourself in a parking lot, standing next to Cholita.
And for whatever reason, you pleased her. But Cholita is a malicious thing.
So she decides to please you back, while torturing you.
She reaches out, puts her left hand index finger under your chin, and lifts you into the air a full foot.
How is that even possible?!
And that's certainly not in the books!
But actually it is. All over the place.
You just wouldn't notice it, until faced with that sort of anomaly yourself.
We're extremely lucky to have all 17 books and publications. If a beginner who read perhaps just one of the early books of Carlos hears there are 17 they ought to read, it's not a happy situation.
Anyone who regularly reads the subreddit cringes a tiny bit, when a new person is informed there are 17 books and publications.
You wonder if that's Adios to the new guy!
They already have a hard enough time doing real work to learn, and now it turns out they can't even begin with confidence, until they read all 17?
Fortunately, no. Just consider them to be like an old fashioned "encyclopedia". Parents actually used to buy those for kids, back in the olden days. And they proudly put them on a shelf all lined up in alphabetical order, hoping their child would use them for school.
That's what we have. An encyclopedia of sorcery.
Which Carlos told me not to read anymore. He got tired of book obsessed kids, who never went out into the sunshine to play or run around.
They became tedious little kids who thought they knew everything, because they'd read all of the encyclopedia volumes at least once.
I still recommend doing that, but you have to realize none of it is actually useful for learning sorcery.
That you have to learn by doing. Nothing written will help, because you're having to create those alternate pathways for "energy" from scratch. Thinking about it, isn't going to accomplish that.
So the best use for the books once you are actually experiencing real sorcery, and thus "anomalies", is as a backup reference to let you know you're on the right path.
As it turns out, craziness like someone lifting another person into the air with one finger, is normal with sorcery.
Silvio Manuel was described as being so powerful, if you pissed him off he could grab you by the nape of the neck, and hurl you through the mysterious "wall of fog".
Landing you in a corridor to an infinite number of new worlds.
It's "double on double".
Silvio in his double already. If you skim the books for that topic, you soon learn that most of the lineage spent their time in their double.
What their tonal bodies were doing, we don't know. Could be hiding out in an old shack.
Could be they can "Go along" after shrinking.
"Folding in half" perhaps, as Carlos did when Zuleica was teaching him.
Or as Carlos did when don Juan shoved him through the ticket office.
But whatever is really going on doesn't matter.
A person in their double can "extract" the double of another person, and interact with it.
Even lifting it up into the air, perhaps "pulling" it from their physical body.
There are likely many examples of that in the books, but we just didn't notice them because there was no reason.
Carlos watching the little sisters run on the walls.
Him being attacked by the same little sisters later on, only to find he switched to his double and fought them back. He even kicked them in their energy body using his own energy body.
It was double on double activity, but started from both sides being in their tonal body.
We read about the "soft body" as it pertains to don Juan's lineage's understanding of martial arts.
That real martial arts take place at the level of the double. The soft body.
That sure would make those 70s Hong Kong Kung Fu movies more fun to watch, once you realize no one can fight like that.
That all Asian masters get their butts kicked in seconds, when faced with an actual boxer.
You'd like to think they can at least leap onto the tree tops and lord it over their enemies on the ground.
And it turns out, they can!
How is right there in the books.
When don Juan leaps over a house for Carol Tiggs.
Or when La Gorda pees into her hands, flings urine into the air, and grabs some "red lines" that makes visible.
With Carlos holding onto her waist, so he can fly up into the sky along with her.
Cholita once agreed to practice that with me, and I even bought a large fountain to mark where to land.
Until she began to suspect I just wanted to see her pee into her own hands.
I blame Genaro for that "technique". And for women liking the intimacy of peeing in front of a lover. Genaro was getting her to "show off".
Actually, the technique is likely just an "excuse" to make flying seem reasonable.
To the double. They simply switched to their doubles, and the "red lines" were some twisted dream being logic. For why it's ok to fly.
They switched to their dreamer, directly from their physical bodies.
You can see that's true, if you read carefully what happened when they landed and Carlos had a memory of 2 events.
Not just one happy landing. In another one occupying the same period of time, he crashed onto his back.
And we have the case of La Gorda opening her creepy eye, that floats in the air in front of her.
Don't doubt that! You might get your own creepy eye. I did.
But I can't pull it open the way La Gorda did, even though we've been given the tensegrity pass that can do that.
Still, I have no doubt that once you can there's going to be an "anomaly".
And you may duplicate what La Gorda did, opening a passage out of the room.
But later on it's also likely that you'll find yourself back where you started.
As if your tonal had only temporarily vanished, to allow your double to play. But when the double ran out of the energy needed to sustain some rationality and purpose, which might be mandatory for the tonal to remember any of it, you find yourself back in your tonal where you started.
You switch to the double, have some fun, get tired, pass out, and wake up in bed in the morning.
Wait... That was my last girlfriend.
But the principle still holds.
Fortunately, for those times when sorcery is working so well it casts doubt on itself by seeming to agree with the common belief that it's all imaginary and none of it is "real", we have the books to use as our encyclopedia of weirdness.
You can "look it up". Even easier now, with the compiled books and notes publications.
Let's take another anomaly that seems to come up more often than is warranted.
What are those green puffs?
I believe the first time that came up in this subreddit, the person claimed they were "teal".
And that very night I held one in my hand, seeing it was obviously purple, but then as I gazed to see if there was any "teal" tinge to it, it completely changed color.
And I realized the color was a "choice".
Which makes no sense to our physical body. How can what you see, be a choice?
It's light bouncing off real objects. Light that is being radiated by real objects.
If suddenly the color can change, doesn't that mean it's not real?
Actually it doesn't. And fortunately we have the books to refer to.
Zuleica told us early on, the colors are a choice. And she prefers an orangish red because she likes the feeling it gives her.
The topic of "green puffs" comes up every 6 months at least in the subreddit.
When it came up for the third time I referred back to my encyclopedia of weirdness. Where I realized color changes are choices. And surrounded by purple puffs as I was back then, being mostly in the red zone, I just requested a color change.
And they all did.
I realized, you could not only be the "master of the color change", but of the shapes as well.
But that's the "book deal mind" at work again, and in the long run it's a deal killer.
You can't think like a phony guru, if you want to keep going.
There's nowhere to arrive it. To stop. No sight that means "you made it"!
That kind of thinking is designed for stealing from others.
So I dropped it. Just one of thousands of things you could specialize in, through darkroom.
We might one day assign "hobbies" to people with sorcery skills, just so that as a group, we can cover all of the possibilities for interesting things to tell beginners.
But no one person can afford to do more than one or two of those on a regular basis. And best if there's a good reason for it.
Is that true? I just proposed an anomaly. Something that doesn't seem absolutely right, from what we commonly understand about this sorcery.
Fortunately we have our encyclopedia of weirdness.
And in one of those 17 volumes, perhaps in multiple locations, don Juan explains how seers can specialize, for the good of the group.
And going all the way back for at least hundreds of years, groups of seers had some who specialized in seeing the emanations to find out what "the Eagle wants".
We just need to escape the book deal mind as a community, and it turns out we have all we need to find our way as a group.
The old seers took younglings and taught them one on one.
The new seers formed lineages. They lived at a time when you couldn't advertise for potential apprentices without being put to death by the catholic church.
Which by the way, we're at odds with too. People don't like negativity, but we're surrounded by enemies trying to wipe out all sorcerers.
They just come in other "flavors" besides Monks and Nuns.
Now we have Rinpoches and Gurus.
Still the same thing. Religiously deluded people who will kill to wipe out competition.
Or toss you into a pit with rotting corpses so that you die "naturally". Techno found that one. A case of Buddhists bragging about murder, because they didn't do it themselves. At least not directly.
We have our own new form of "catholic church" opposing our efforts.
But unlike the time of the new lineages, they don't have that kind of power anymore. There's too many "varieties" of religious delusion. So none of them is given all power.
And all of them have to compete for new followers.
Allowing us to get away with doing the same.
So we don't have the younglings like the old seers, and unlike the new seers we aren't forced to teach a very few specific people. Which requires a lineage.
What we have is unlimited new people, and our encyclopedia of weirdness.

Jefferson Street is a long-time center for music and creativity in Nashville's Black Community. However, many residents from other neighborhoods are unaware of how important the street was to the growth of Nashville as a city of entertainment. The Jefferson Street Sound Museum harkens to the days of music clubs on the street, with performances by Duke Ellington at the Silver Streak and Cab Calloway and Count Basie. Jimi Hendrix was playing jazz and blues in his first band The King Kasuals. Little Richard was king of the "Chitlin' Circuit." The JSS Museum contains stories and memorabilia from those bygone ages.

Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame

The Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, located in a small corner of downtown's Bridgestone Arena, honors a new group of athletes, coaches and team owners every year. It also recognizes Olympians who have played in Tennessee or were born there. The exhibits showcase individual and team accomplishments through the years, both amateurs and professionals are featured.

The Adventure Science Center, originally founded in 1945 as the Children's Museum of Nashville, now welcomes visitors of all ages who enjoy science and are interested in interactive displays. The Nashville Madame Tussauds is located inside the Opry Mills mall. It features the same lifelike wax figures that you'll find in Madame Tussauds museums elsewhere, but Nashville has a musical focus. The Parthenon, which was constructed in 1931 and has been open to the public ever since, is a life-sized replica. The museum in the Parthenon in Centennial Park, Nashville is one of the top things to do. You'll also find a 42 foot statue of Athena by local artist Alan LeQuire.
Athena is also the largest indoor sculpture of the Western Hemisphere. Inside, you will find both permanent and rotating exhibitions including replicas the Parthenon Marbles.

The pyramids of Egypt have been a tourist spot for over 2,000 years. Even the ancient Greeks admired the Great Pyramid of Khufu. However Today’s interest in the pyramids was by the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. The discovery was sensational and Tutankhamun has become famous pharaohs. In the 19th century, the British occupied Egypt and many British intellectuals became interested in ancient Egypt. In 1891, Howard Carter went to Egypt to work at various sites. In 1914, he was allowed to dig at the site Tutankhamun’s tomb might be located. Carter explored the site for long. In November, 1922, his crew found stairs that led down to a secret room. Later, Carter found many treasures in the tomb. In the next year, Carter opened the last room and found Tutankhamun’s coffin. The discovery caused a sensation. It was the best preserved tomb ever. 2023.05.29 06:03 BestLEDSigns BestLEDSigns - About Us

Hi there, I'm Noah from Bestledsigns.com. I thought I'd make a little introduction post to this community. We are a small family and friends business that distributes LED signage across the U.S. We are also expanding into other countries at the moment.
We sell fully programmable, full-color, high-resolution signs to mostly independent businesses and a few chains such as Popeyes and Burger King. All our signs are manufactured in the U.S., just outside of St. Louis. Our signs go in the windows and outdoors of businesses to attract more customers.
Our signs are one of the only ones on the market that can display photo-realistic images and videos. Unlike our competitors, our signs have a high refresh rate, allowing videos to not be choppy.
We've been in the signage business since 2006, working at other sign companies until we were eventually able to start our own in 2019. We wanted to create a company that operates differently from our competitors. Our competitors have multi-layered commission structures - basically meaning that when you buy a sign, multiple people are making a commission on that one sale, leading the price of the sign to be much higher than it should be. We differ by offering factory-direct pricing, cutting out all the middlemen in the process.
Up until a few months ago, our business only ran in person. We have different salesmen located across the states who go door-to-door to independent businesses putting up our signs. We now have a website that allows us to sell our signs across the entirety of the U.S. Since starting in 2019, we have put our signs up in hundreds of different businesses and have never received a negative review. We have sold to every type of business and organization under the sun, such as barber shops/hair salons, boutiques/clothing stores, hospitals, schools, government offices, churches, auto shops, pawn shops, gun stores, video game stores, every type of restaurant, gift shops, jewelry stores, etc.
If you're a business owner looking to bring in more customers, visit Bestledsigns.com. We are currently running a sale for Memorial Day, offering $500 off + free shipping (free shipping doesn't apply to outdoor signs, window signs only).
If you want to see what our signs look like in action here's some links. Please keep in mind that alot of these pictures look pixelated, washed out, or have a glare. The LEDs in our signs are insanely bright making it really hard to get good pictures of. If anyone has any tips for this it would be greatly appreciated!
Some images and a few videos https://imgur.com/a/sdj7nst We also have some videos on our Facebook https://www.facebook.com/BestLEDSignsllc/
