2023.06.04 03:50 LawAndUsername White floaters in money bag (45-160)? First live run
Soo newer to running bubble. Second harvest in this space, 4th batch of bubble. First time running ‘live’ aka fresh frozen. I ran larf / lowers from a smaller, slightly immature gorilla glue plant.
Too much ice for how much plant material, maybe didn’t quite rehydrate enough, but too much ice was main reason it was green.
But… my money bag (45-160) and check bag (25, wanted to see how immature it was, not too bad), but mostly money bag, had white floating things. They got through 220 and 160 on first wash and then just 160 on subsequent washes. Less by wash 4.
Are these immature trichromes? Something terrible? Something I did wrong with the bags? I don’t think I had powdery mildew. I had some spider mite challenges, but anything showing any webbing mites etc was tossed. I had some calcium from the humidifier.
Appreciate the help.

2023.06.04 03:40 lafreniereluc Sea-Doo Steering Pad Mount(s) - 2023 GTX
Photos:
https://imgur.com/a/GQAlDJF I just purchased a Sea-Doo GTX 230. I was trying to find ways to mount my phone to the handlebars, ideally in the middle. My goal was to have a low profile, VERY solid mount. I considered and tried a few different things, but these two were my favorite designs.
I realized the sticky mount (last two pictures) would work but the base was simply too large for the area. But I figured I'd show people in case they have a use case. You could also trim the base to make it smaller via Dremel or other. To make, I bought one of those dash suction cup bases that comes with the super strong 3M VHB tape (thicker than the phone ones, so they REALLY stick to textured surfaces and such). I took the Universal Bar Mount, removed the four screws in the back. Then aligned the the holes on the base plate and drilled them precisely. Then, re-purposed the exact same screws. The VHB tape is thick enough that the heads of the screws are actually flush with the tape. Works quite well!
The other idea took a bit more work, but it worked AMAZINGLY well for this purpose. I purchased heavy duty bungee straps designed for furniture webbing. It's really strong stuff. I got a matching set of buckles and one of those black metal plates that people stick on their phones to have them attach to those (meh) magnet phone mounts.
I first aligned and drilled four holes precisely on the black metal plate. Then placed the plate on the bungee strap and melted holes using a soldering iron. Then I sandwiched the bungee strap between the Peak Design SlimLink and the black metal plate. I could have used the same screws, but they are bevelled and I didn't want to scratch my Sea-Doo. So I used identical sized screws with round tops instead which I happen to have (M3 is the size).
I would say I sewed one end (but in reality, my wife is the expert here), then tested the fit, adjusted the other end until I had to stretch it quite tight to get it to click, and marked it. My wife sewed the other end at that spot.
Finally, placed a piece of Gorilla tape just to make sure no sharp edges stick out against the Sea-Doo foam pad.
Voià! A very secure, custom made mount that holds incredibly well. I went for a SUPER rough ride today actually in extremely choppy conditions. The phone was rock solid, didn't wiggle or anything. I'm extremely pleased and there's no holes or glue on the Sea-Doo. Which is nice considering it's brand new.

2023.06.03 00:59 Creative-Fix57 Guitar saddle help?
Hey guys, I think I drastically messed up… I used gorilla glue to keep in the saddle into the bridge of an acoustic guitar, not knowing it was supposed to be held in by tension. I used a small amount, but it’s in there pretty good. The glue is holding it down ever so slightly too much, that the guitar buzzes around the first couple of frets. I’ve tried to gently use pliers and a cloth to nudge it out, and I’ve seen a heat lamp method on YouTube. Is there any viable way I can get the saddle out, or raise it a bit, and if not, how much would this kind of repair cost?

2023.06.02 23:08 ThundaGal Need help finding the right gaming headphones
I'm a gamer girl so I spend like 12+ hours a day gaming lol, usually on PC but occasionally PS5. I had the Pulse3D headset for PS5 and bought the Dolby Access app to give them virtual atmos surround sound when playing on PC. I loved the sound and comfort but the build quality was terrible and I've been holding them together in parts that broke with gorilla glue and duct tape lol. Well they finally broke completely (ear cup completely detached) and I've been using an old set of wireless bose headphones, but they won't work on PS5 and start to really hurt my ears after 30+ minutes of wear. They also don't sound as good even with the atmos virtualization. I'm hoping to find a good set of wireless headphones that will give me great virtual surround sound while gaming on PS5 and PC both, that I can wear comfortably for 12+ hours. I never use mic so I don't care about that at all. Can anyone help with suggestions, hopefully in the $100-$200 range? Thanks in advance❤️

2023.06.02 16:59 scottiebaldwin How to resin coat a Northstar canoe
Advised to repost my resin coating repair of a Northstar canoe. Apologies to those that have already read it…
https://imgur.com/a/KVv3EJ5 I bought a Northstar Northwind 17 from Rockwood at the end of the season last year and just finished with my resin coat.
I needed a fresh coat of resin to seal up the bottom. If you are coating a Northstar Canoe, you need to buy your resin directly from Northstar as they use a proprietary mix for their canoes. Don’t use the West System. It won’t work as well. Northstar will send it out the day you order it and you will get it within 48 hours.
With the canoe upside down on sawhorses, start by taking blue painters tape and creating a “football” shape on the bottom of the canoe. I’m talking maybe 3 inches down from the overturned canoe from the bow and stern and it should come around to just above the water line on the side of the canoe at its widest point. Northstar recommends 150 grit sandpaper on an orbital sander but I advise that you need to work up to at least 220 and I went to 320 grit for a smoother finish. Wipe off with an old towel in between sanding coats to see where you missed and get everything nice and even. When you get done with 320 grit you will wipe down the whole thing and then clean it with acetone so it’s ready for the resin.
You mix the resin and MEKP hardener (which you can buy at Home Depot in a tiny clear tube near the Gorilla glue in that aisle) at a 50:1 ratio. For canoes larger than the Northstar Northwind 17, you should buy the $85 two-pint bottom refinishing kit from Northstar. This ends up being 2 teaspoons per pint of hardener to resin. Here’s where you have to move fast because once you stir the two pints resin and the four teaspoons hardener all together you’ve got about 15 minutes total on a warm day in the shade to get it done. Use gloves, eyewear, and a soluble filtered 3M painters mask if you have it!! I used a regular 3M mask and got high as a kite. No bueno. Use a better mask than me.
Pour the resin directly on the center line of the canoe from your mix container and start rolling and get everything covered because that stuff starts turning into Jell-O in the mix container after 15 minutes. I covered the bottom of my Northwind 17 and I still had over half of a pint left. Don’t try and get cute and pour any extra resin on at the last minute to use it up because it will start to gum up and you will look to the sky and scream, most likely cursing your ancestors for helping you make that poor decision. Be smart.
Make sure you take off the blue painters tape right after you get done coating the bottom so you don’t leave a line. When you remove the tape it tends to blend the line away and it will be almost unnoticeable. If you can, once you’re done you need to move your canoe into the sunlight and that sucker will cure in about six hours. I would do it basically at about 9 AM that way you’ll have all day in the sun to cure. My results were fabulous.
I just purchased a 1999 Bell Magic from a BWCA.com member in the BlackGold layup and it has a bunch of scratches on the bottom from the 24 years it’s been used but because it is carbon fiber on the outside and has a gel coat, I’m not going re-coat that. It’s handled the scratches really well. But the Kevlar (especially if the canoe is showing fabric) needs the extra love and protection.
PS) Burn your rags in an old coffee can when you are done. Do not throw them in the trash. They can catch on fire spontaneously.
