I think this spell is sweet, and it adds to the fantasy of being a wizard in a cool way. The issue is that it's way too good for a spell you can get for free in an instant by wishing for it.
In preparation for OneD&D we want a better version of the spell that is not an auto pick for Sorcerers and Warlocks when they get to choose spells of its level.
So here's the fix a friend and I came up with for it that tones the spell down, The changes are highlighted in bold. _______________________________________

You shape an illusory duplicate of one beast or humanoid that is within range for the entire casting time of the spell. The duplicate is a creature, partially real and formed from ice or snow, and it can take actions and otherwise be affected as a normal creature. It appears to be the same as the original, but it has half the creature's hit point maximum and is formed without any equipment. Otherwise, the illusion uses all the statistics of the creature it duplicates, except that it is a construct.
The simulacrum is friendly to you and creatures you designate. It obeys your spoken commands, moving and acting in accordance with your wishes and acting on your turn in combat. The simulacrum lacks the ability to learn or become more powerful, so it never increases its level or other abilities, nor can it benefit from completing a short or long rest, and it does not need food or water or require sleep.
If the simulacrum is damaged, you can repair it in an alchemical laboratory, using rare herbs and minerals worth 100 gp to allow it to gain the benefits of a short rest. This process takes an hour to complete. The simulacrum lasts until it drops to 0 hit points, at which point it reverts to snow and melts instantly.
If you cast this spell again, any duplicate you created with this spell is instantly destroyed. A simulacrum can never cast this spell or duplicate it’s effects in any way.

By making it 9th level we closed the wish loophole, and the spell as is is strong enough to be a 9th level spell. Certainly stronger than the other 9th level illusion, Weird. Now Warlocks would get to choose between this and Wish for their 9th level Arcanum on the Arcane list.
We made it clear that it can never benefit from a long rest, if you want a recharged simulacrum, cast it again. We chose this wording because we have a divination Wizard at our table who bribed every wizard they could to make their simulacra him, so that he could have each simulacrum's portent every day, since it would recharge, We've tried fights at level 20 when this Divination wizard carrying his simulacra's homunculi was able to have like 15 portent a day.
The spending 100 GP to heal 1HP in the original was garbage, and never worth doing, so we changed it to a short rest. This shouldn't be so bad now that short rest features are being toned way down and Pact Magic is thankfully going away.
Now we've been told that OneD&D will be fully backwards compatible, and that means that changing spell levels might be too awkward. However this spell only works at 9th level, so we used D&D beyond to see all references to this spell in published modules, to see if it would be made incoherent with the spell level change. This is what we found:
Some 9th level spellcaster (5th level spells) got their hands on a spell scroll. (doesn’t care about level) Someone used the diamond shard solitaire (doesn’t care about level) Manshoon, an archmage, has a special simulacrum that can regain spell slots and only has up to 6th level spells. (This is an actual discrepancy maybe, as simulacrum is listed in his prepared 7th level spells. but it’s a special version of it anyway, and an Archmage has 9th level spells as well.) A demon lord can cast it as a lair action (doesn’t care about level). A cloud giant had a special version of the simulacrum spell that can make any number of duplicates, and made a bunch of aaracokra. (doesn’t care about level) Some hag covens can have a special lair action to cast simulacrum (doesn’t care about level)

There you have it, SImulacrum should be a 9th level spell for OneD&D, it doesn't break backwards compatibility, and it doesn't make the game fall apart at level 13. This spell is not an auto pick at 17th level next to wish and shapechange, but it is one worth picking if you want it.

As you've probably heard by now, a couple of days ago Reddit recently announced some policy changes which will result in most, if not all, third-party mobile apps - such as Apollo, BaconReader, Reddit is Fun, etc - unable to continue functioning.
Even if you're not a mobile user or don't use any third-party apps at all, you'll likely still feel the impact of this change. Many of the most active users across Reddit - the ones who provide much of the content - use third-party apps. And this is also a step towards removing other ways of customising one's Reddit experience, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite, or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface.
This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators across all of Reddit, including the majority of our mod team, depend on tools only available outside of the official app to be able to moderate. Without these tools, it will be impossible to maintain the high standard of moderation we pride ourselves on in /truegaming.
We've had a lot of discussions in our mod chat over the past few days on this topic, and we've decided it's important for us to do what we can, both for the sake of our subreddit and for Reddit as a whole. As such, we will be setting the subreddit to read-only mode on June 12th as a show of solidarity, until such a time that Reddit reaches a suitable compromise with third-party developers.

So I thought everyone was saying the story will get you to lvl 50 lol? I have been following just that and well I am already in the lvl 35 section of act 5 at lvl 25. Starting to think I need to do side quests etc and that the notion of just pushing the story straight through was incorrect haha! Any one else experiencing this? Maybe even lower levels ?

25 Male, 175cm, 78kg, white, no other medical issues. Got a bug bite (not sure from what and didn’t feel it at the time) about two weeks ago and there is still a red circle that itches periodically. There is no pain though. Should I see a doctor? Worried about Lymes disease etc. No other symptoms or though.

Have you used the Floor Pro for floor flatness and floor levelness surveys? Comparing to the Face Dipstick this machine is much quicker, but is "more accurate" because it records at 6" intervals (averages 2 for a ft) vs 12" for flatness but is identical on levelness readings.

I currently have been going to a very traditional and conservative (not in the political sense necessarily) church and am even planning on getting married by the pastor at it. However I really need to get into a pornography accountability group and the first church; A. Does not have groups for people my age (male, 25 years old), and B. I don't want to let my sin be known at church 1 because my family goes there and I don't want to bring judgement down on them or myself. Therefore I am thinking about going to another church that does have the community/ group aspect. Just not sure what I should do?

Hey everyone,
So.. I'm a little confused right now.
All the way through act 1 and a bit of act 2, I could just imbue my rare items with legendary powers (the ones from completing dungeons) and it cost me like 8-12 veiled crystals and a ton of gold - I was fine with that.
Now, all of a sudden, every imbue that I try to make on a totally vanilla rare item (not upgraded) suddenly costs 1 coiling ward... which apparently you get from scrapping legendaries.
Well, guess what, I'm not finding any legendaries and now I'm at the point where I have to decide if I wanna use a +100 armor item without my legendary power - or keep my item I've been using for like the last ~15-20 levels.
This feels... weird. I mean I'm totally fine with item progression that's not as crazy as Diablo 3 where you switch your items every 2-3 levels, but something feels off about this.
Am I doing something wrong / misunderstanding something or do the costs for imbuing just magically change at some level / item power threshold?

I have had TMJ problems since childhood mostly due to teeth grinding. Because of my jaw problems I don't preform oral sex very often or vigorously. On to the incident. It was 2020 and my husband and I were in the shower. I decided now was a good time to have some fun and show him some love. My jaw began to ache pretty quickly but I ignored it as best I could. I felt a pop and sharp pain but thought it wasn't that bad so I continued. I knew I'd be in pain for a day or two but hey, my husband is very generous and I wanted him to feel as loved and desired as he makes me feel. I did not tell him that I was in pain. I knew he would feel bad and I genuinely thought I'd be fine. Fast forward a few days and the pain in my jaw was not going away. Every morning I woke up with the worst tension headache that wouldn't go away. I'm used to getting these headaches because of the aforementioned TMJ problems but it was never this frequent or severe. It was the height of COVID so I did not want to go to the dentist but my husband knew I was hurting and begged me to make an appointment. It was so bad at this point that I struggled to eat most foods. I literally could not bite a baby carrot without tearing up from the pain. Long story short, after several expensive appointments with different dentists, orodontists, and a surgeon, a CT scan and an MRI, and a mouth guard that I am literally eating in my sleep because of my teeth grinding, we had an explanation as to why I was in so much pain. Turns out I have arthritis in one side of my jaw and a slipped disk in the other (this was the pop). I also had 2 impacted wisdom teeth and needed to have surgery under general anesthesia to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed. After more than a year of physiotherapy coupled with pain meds and muscle relaxers and wearing the mouth guard, I am happy to report that my jaw, while not pain free, is back to its pre-incident level of pain. While I don't believe that people should receive praise for not being whiny little assholes when their partners don't pay enough attention to them, I do want to say that my husband has never expected repayment after taking care of me and even now he always checks with me before, during, and after being down there to make sure I am okay.
TL/DR I went down on my husband and "broke" my face for a couple of years.

Adrian Wilson was the Head Security Chief of the Human Sector of the Hedron, and he had a problem.
Well, it was more that he had several smaller problems that led up to one massive problem. There had been a quarantine, a small rabies outbreak that nearly got the Canician Councilor killed, another outbreak that was directly related to a xeno not giving up their- he could never remember the word for it- lizard dog, and on top of that, someone was smuggling shit into the Hedron through his sector and the aforementioned quarantines only stymied his efforts into figuring out who was behind it all.
On top of that, he had several delinquents causing problems before and after the quarantine, someone had abducted one of the wolves brought into the sector's wilderness reserves, at least five gallons of maple syrup had been absconded with, and he was saddled with a rookie from another sector who needed to learn how Humans handled stressful situations as well as learn how to handle said Humans in the event of an incident.
Grrorram watched him whaling on a punching bag, each violent strike causing the Canician a new level of discomfort at the ferocity of the miniature human- not that he expressed such a thought out loud, considering the warnings he'd been given regarding the Human subspecies 'Dorf'.
Adrian was proud of his height, and having it remarked on in any manner he felt was insulting led to what many called, some smirking as if it were the funniest thing ever, 'his short temper triggering'. Grrorram didn't understand, but nonetheless he help quiet.
Adrian let loose a kick that could crack bone before taking a moment to catch his breath and center himself. Hair-trigger temper or not, he prided himself on keeping his cool at the best of times, and reserved his worst outbursts for the people who got on his nerves. He regarded Grrorram coolly, the Canician avoided eye contact, out of respect.
<"So, you're here to learn about Humans."> The lack of a snout, and the shoddy attempts at growls gave Adrian a heavy accent, Grrorram was fine with his translator, but his tail thumped with appreciation at the Human's attempt.
Grrorram let out a few growing sounds before his translator automatically translated. "The attempt is appreciated, please, do not trouble yourself." The words were more formal and polite than Grroram's own, not that he said anything insulting. Grrorram spoke again. "And yes, that is what I was assigned to do."
Grrorram had a minor speech impediment, he couldn't make the same sounds that a Human could, so he was reliant on the translator. After recent events, it had been decided that the Sectors would cooperate more, that meant species other than the norm working in in specific sectors, taking on duties that were equivalent elsewhere.
Though, assimilated Humans were the only ones allowed in the Vagraxi sector and were required to swear allegiance to the Vagraxi Empire, so nobody filled that spot quite yet, and the Gixx didn't really need regulation in that sense, since they shared the same hive mind.
Nonetheless, Grrorram was selected to fill in the spot in spite of his speech impediment for one simple reason: He liked Humans, and he thought Adrian was absolutely adorable. He knew better than to mention this, however, he was a professional after all. He had thought the role was a long shot, and was absolutely delighted to learn he was the only one who bothered to apply.
<"Here's the deal."> Adrian persisted, ignoring the translator and focusing on Grroram's actual words. <"We like it when people leave us the grrahragrah alone."> Grrorram blanched at the word used. He didn't have the heart to tell Adrian that it was an extremely foul expletive. Even worse than the Human word 'shizno' that he'd found on Human internet archives.
<"Just stay quiet and observe. No unnecessary chatter, no bothering the people. Understood?"> Grrorram simply gave a large, exaggerated nod, an indication of knowing body language in theory, but only just now getting the opportunity to try it out. Adrian sighed. <"Follow me.">
Grrorram followed the Dorf Human out of the security station. Sector biospheres are designed to mimic homeworld biospheres, including air content, plant life, animal life, and smaller subsections dedicated to culture. While Grrorram knew that Humans had a variety of cultures, similar to his own people's, he was amazed at how different they could be.
His people, a handful of thousands of years ago, had gotten together, realized that their myriad spiritualities were very similar, and homogenized it into one whole that effectively accepted every interpretation, ethnically, Grrorram was from a tribe that believed the only way to join one's ancestors was to live long and die honorably. This had led to a culture of expendability that meant his Tribe was endangered, but not everyone saw that as a particularly bad thing. Not like he did.
The Humans, by contrast, had a myriad of different cultures, informally segregated, but otherwise blending together at the seams in a way that confused and delighted him. He accidentally bumped into a Human, who when he looked and uttered an apology, bowed and he did the same before moving on. The interaction was surreal and exciting, the words spoken were completely different from Adrian's language.
Grrorram growled a question, "What Tribe is he from?"
"Japan." Adrian replied. "Don't piss them off, they have the power of God and anime on their side." The cryptic warning given, Grrorram merely nodded and followed after. There were many other kinds of Humans, but he noted with a pang of sorrow that there were few Dorfs. Was their Tribe endangered too? The thought troubled him.
It was as Adrian explained specific protocols for the human sector that all hell broke loose. Just because Humans generally managed to live together didn't mean they were united. Some Humans were part of an anti-xeno faction, and seeing a Canician walking around in their species' space wasn't going to fly.
The ballistics flew and hit Grrorram, though since he was build like an Earth bear, the projectiles, while they did sting, lacked the stopping power to really do anything to him. Nonetheless, Grrorram yelped from the pain and backed away from the irate Humans.
Adrian stepped in their way, his service pistol in hand and a ballistic shield deployed. "Drop your weapons!" He commanded.
"Stand aside, that fucking mongrel's breathing our air." One of them said.
"C'mon, we know you can't stand those damn xenos either. What's one mongrel gonna do that's worth dealing with their shit?" Another pointed out.
Adrian couldn't stand xenos, even so, he was the Head Security Chief. "He's not a mongrel to me." He said calmly. "Now, drop the weapons."
The Humans walked forward fearlessly, so Adrian fired. It was a concussive round, barely lethal, but still capable of rupturing eardrums, popping eyeballs, deflating lungs, and so on. He hit center mass, sending one of the Humans flying, the other four froze, Adrian gunned them down all the same.
"This is Adrian Wilson." He said, turning on his comm unit. "I've got five aggressors and one injured here, please respond..."
Once everything was said and done, and Grrorram was brought to a clinic to get the bullets pulled out and healed, the Canician couldn't help but be awed at Adrian's efforts to save him.
He growled out a thanks, then touched his damaged translator with a forlorn expression.
"Don't mention it." Adrian said. "They were right, I really can't stand your kind, but I'm a professional dammit, and I'm not letting some idiots kill you while I know better."
Grrorram nodded, he was hurt that Adrian didn't like Canicians, but all the same, he was grateful, and was certain that he would learn a lot from him. Even if it was all mostly self-serving lies...
