2023.06.09 01:18 bluueyees91 I found my first box of 0.25!!!!
I just got prescribed Wegovy last week, have had a hell of a time finding my first box. The drama is LENGTHY but I’ve learned a few things along the way.
Last Friday I got the script and my doctor sent it to CVS in my town. After my appointment I stopped by to just see if they could fill it. None in stock blah blah blah. The big thing was my insurance needed a prior approval. No biggie. I called my doctors office and left a message as well as my insurance company (they explained further the same thing). I saw Amazon had it! I called to verify they did have it so I made a first attempt at transferring my script over. I waited all weekend and Tuesday nothing had changed so I made some phone calls to everyone and it was the general thought that this still takes time. This morning I still haven’t seen anything about the transfer happening so I made another round of calls. Amazon rejected it cause they can’t transfer a new script unless it is in stock, also on the back end CVS never responded to the request from Amazon. So naturally I talked to CVS and they said they sent it to Walgreens and to get in touch with them? I hadn’t even talked to Walgreens! Much less request to transfer this to them. After talking to Walgreens they informed me they have absolutely nothing on file for me whatsoever. I got back to CVS, CVS blamed it on their fax machine and somehow it was never received (I didn’t buy the excuse, both Amazon, Walmart AND Walgreens said CVS is not great about this in particular). I had explained to the actual pharmacist where I was trying to send this to, and asked if my script was still there with them. She had informed me yes, and if I find the medication elsewhere I could get her to verbally transfer the script over the phone because that would be easier.
I popped in to Walmart, and out of curiosity spoke with the pharmacist there. He was so very helpful, and informed me he was pretty positive another Walmart nearby had the dose I needed, so I had given them a call. It’s there!!! 3 boxes! So I told them what I knew and started the process to transfer over there ASAP. I’m not sure who the pharmacy tech at Walmart talked to over at CVS, but lines got crossed again saying “it was sent to Walgreens”. It took a few phone calls from then on and finally I got everything to Walmart. Since this was finished about 15 minutes before closing they said they would fill it, and I’ll pick it up tomorrow.
The other half of the situation is my approval from insurance isn’t complete. My insurance company had reached out to the doctors office and haven’t gotten back a reply. I’ve also tried calling twice today with no answer. My insurance company does have a hotline available for the doctor to call, and within minutes this can be complete. So cheers to hoping tomorrow I can plead someone to move on this first thing in the morning!
Lessons learned: when transferring a prescription, both the giving and receiving pharmacists can verbally pass prescription info. It’s less than a 5 minute phone call. I’d recommend this rather than other means especially from CVS. Also if you’re still waiting on your approval, and happen to get lucky like I have then reach out to your insurance company and explain that you want to get this done as quickly as possible… maybe they have a hotline similar to mine. And Amazon… make sure you reach out to someone on the phone before initiating a transfer! They can’t go through with it unless they actually have yours in stock. The other lesson, next time you’re in Walmart or any grocery store that has a pharmacy, just stop by! Either they might have it or you could find someone as kind as I did that was willing to help!
Just be really polite and communicate. That’s all! If it works out tomorrow then fridays are actually a perfect day to take my dose 🤗 I could update later if anyone is curious.

2023.06.09 01:07 Any_Solid_6753 MJ Available at Military Treatment Facilities (MTF)
I know this won't help a lot of people but I learned something today. My local Army base hospital carries MJ and they have a ton of all doses, except 12.5 in stock. I never considered them before because they are generally understaffed and never have much of anything in stock.
I have been searching for weeks for my next refill and everywhere I'm allowed to go was out of stock of most doses. I'm limited to Express Scripts (OUT), Walgreens (OUT) and CVS (OUT). Started feeling the refill anxiety. Then, on a whim, I reached out to the MTF and they had 3 months of my dose ready, quick & free! (Because of my Tricare insurance).
Of course you have to be covered in order to use a military pharmacy, but for veterans with medical benefits it may be worth a shot. This is my new go to pharmacy for MJ, especially with the zero cost.
56M, T2D with an approved PA as required by Tricare.

Hypothetically speaking, is it ok for a DL to request a PM to reimburse CVS for going over tech hours in order to safely run the pharmacy?

2023.06.08 23:41 Old_Heart_7780 Guys.. down the hill
I was listening to the BG recording: Guys.. down the hill. It reminded me of some of the conversations going on about the audio recording before they had Richard Allen in jail. I know some people suggested the tone heard in the recording was possibly someone that works around kids. The thought was BG was comfortable working around young kids and telling them what to do. For example, a teacher, or a coach saying... “Guys.. lets go”.
The seemingly flat tone of the voice doesn’t convey a sense of urgency, or anger-imo. Or at least it doesn’t to me. I was actually in a CVS yesterday with my wife when a young man working there said ”Guys, can I help you find something”. “Whoa” I said… I think I startled him a little bit. I asked him to say it again. He gave me a kind of strange look and this time he said… “Guys, can I help you”. By this time my wife was half way down the aisle trying to act like she didn’t know me. But anyhow I explained to the young man why I asked him to repeat what he said. He totally got it. He said he knew all about the CVS guy in Indiana.
The thing about that encounter made me think about Richard Allen and the years he spent worked at the CVS as the pharmacy tech/shift leader. Or manager or whatever his title was at the store. The Delphi High School and Middle School is less than a mile away from the Delphi CVS. I always recall signs on the front business doors at places like the CVS. The signs that say “No more than 3-4 students in the store at the same time”. I don’t doubt Allen had to ask student to leave the store “Guys.. let’s go out the door”.
He was comfortable ordering Abby and Libby down the hill. You can hear it in the recording. Or at least that’s my opinion. We know he was in a hurry to get to the bridge. He hurries to the bridge and then he stops and he stands on that first platform. His actions betray him. He’s not their to hike and enjoy the trail and the warm weather. He’s there with a purpose that afternoon. The words he uses to order the girls down the hill sound almost calm and matter of fact, just like the many times he’s asked people in the CVS if he could help them find something. Or ordering students out the door. I almost bet a plainclothes ISP investigator has been in Delphi’s CVS store with the exact same type cell phone LIbby owned— secretly holding the phone in their pocket as they did their best to attract Allen’s offer to help find something. Something to compare the Guys.. down the hill recording to. Not as any type of evidentiary proof. Rather just a clever way to try and make that voice comparison using that same type phone.
I think the defense is stalling. They are dragging it out just like Juniors attorney spent dragging out his trial. Waiting for a plea deal maybe— who knows. He’s BG. He was calm and collected and knew exactly what he needed to do that day to get the girls down the hill and over to Logan’s property where I think someone was waiting.
Starting to get over this nasty bug finally. Herbal tea works wonders— with a little dandelion mixed in…😊

2023.06.08 23:09 watchyourback9 Questions about the Vyvanse Help At Hand program
So I was just prescribed Vyvanse again and man it's gotten super expensive since I the last time I was on it. I've also changed insurance and my new policy doesn't cover it at all :(
I came across the Takeda Help at Hand program which seems like a great option for me, but there's a few things that seem a bit unclear as far as eligibility goes.
- On the application form it says you must have recently "lost your job" and are experiencing financial hardship. I moved to freelance work last September, so technically speaking I no longer have a "job," but I wasn't laid off or fired. I quit my job lol so I'm not sure if that counts? On the form if you answer "yes" to this question, it says to attach proof of job termination or unemployment. I do have a termination letter from my old work. It doesn't say exactly why my employment was terminated so should I just attach it with my application?
- Do all pharmacies accept the program? I've had a really hard time finding a pharmacy that actually has it in stock, but I finally got lucky with one near me. It's just a local ma and pa pharmacy, not a Walgreens/CVS/Rite Aid so I'm a bit worried they won't accept it or something.
I'm hoping that I qualify as I make well under the $70,000 cap to qualify. I'm just wondering if they'll reject me if I answer "No" to the question about losing my job.
Does anyone have any experience with this or any advice to share?
Edit: Added a few small details

2023.06.08 22:00 Ducling Fuck CVS
I have hEDS. I deal with my everyday pain with non-prescriptions, but big injuries pushes the pain over the top to where I can't function.
CVS refused to fill my hydrocodone prescription (for broken ribs) before going on vacation, so I had to recontact my doctor to send it to a different pharmacy where I'm vacationing.
After not hearing back from the pharmacy for over a day, I check the app and see my prescription is on hold. It also says the script was sent in yesterday.
Call the pharmacy, get put on hold for 25 minutes. Get hung up on.
Use their app chat system, the guy explains to me that their policy is, even if your doctor calls in a controlled substance prescription, they won't fill it until you contact them. They also mention this store is out of those pills.
I ask why they didn't tell me right away yesterday, and they claimed they didn't receive the prescription until today (but still weren't going to contact me, I had to reach out). They tell me I'll have to contact my doctor to send it to a different pharmacy.
Fuck CVS. Fuck the USA. Sorry for probably being incoherent -> hard to focus when using my core in any capacity causes pain.

2023.06.08 21:45 uDntWinFri3ndsWsalad Maintenance choice, how is this legal?
Our plan recently switched to using the misnomer “Maintenance choice” program. From my understanding, to get the full benefit of terms of our prescription plan we’d have to use the insurance companies 90 day mail program or CVS. We could also “opt-out” and specify another retail pharmacy, like Safeway.
While I was successfully able to “opt-out” and get my prescriptions like before this program started, it sounds anti-competitive, limiting you by default, to providers not of your choosing. Is this just another way of insurers squeezing another nickel out of their customers?

2023.06.08 19:14 Goofy___Gooberr Pharmacy Tech (CVS) or Store Associate (BestBuy)
Hi guys! I'm a college student and a pharmacy tech for nearly a year, and after our store merger CVS has been 100x worse than it already is. So I've thought of switching over to BestBuy because I'm sort of techy, but not sure if it's any better. I'm also considering Kroger pharmacy and Barnes & Nobles.
P.S I generally work 10-15 hours a week during school.

2023.06.08 17:48 Salty_Win5828 Bandages through insurance
Hi everyone. I had seen a few posts where some folks were successful in getting bandages provided through their medical insurance. After it initally going to CVS, i called and they said they sent it back to my dermatologist and recommended they send to a different pharmacy. I find out what pharmacy they sent it to and they advise they "don't bill out" for bandages. Just looking for advise on anyone who was able to successfully get this covered as a prescription. Thanks in advance for any help!

I was wondering how different this was from a regular retail gif. I’ve never worked anything other than inpatient apart from as a student at CVS.
Any advice is appreciated!

2023.06.08 16:52 heiwjjzoe Advice for Supply Issues
Hello All,
I’ve been taking Wegovy for 2 months now with great results. My doctor recently prescribed me 1MG dose of Wegovy to continue my treatment. Unfortunately no pharmacy around me has this dose and when I spoke to the pharmacist at CVS in Charlotte, NC (where I usually pick up my prescriptions) she said it was unlikely they would be getting any in for over a month. This includes 0.5MG and 1MG. I have had great results and just feel like I’m starting to make great progress but now I may have to stop the meditation all together. Also, if I switched to Ozempic it would cost 1,300$ versus the 25$ I pay for Wegovy. What’s your best advice?

2023.06.08 15:23 randomthrowaway0999 College, work and advice
I'm in an undergraduate program pre-health/pre pharmacy and am just undecided when the best time to start working at a retail pharmacy or if I should. I know that I'll need more time for practice for college but I don't want to be under a "study for my life" mindset all the time which can cause mental exhaustion, or mental clarity issues. This is not just for CVS but other pharmacies as well. I'm aware of the hour cuts going on and I'm trying to stay afloat from working 2 jobs or by not taking any loans. Is there anyone in a similar program where a pharmacy tech is not their end goal?

2023.06.08 15:20 Bubbly_Buffalo_463 Anyone have different prices at different pharmacies with the old coupon card?
I have an old coupon card, before they changed to the $500 per month cap, and used it for the first time at CVS. The price was $575, which is still more than a $500 discount (about $632 off), but my friend is able to get theirs for $25. Has anyone had the experience of one pharmacy charging a price like this and another only charing $25?
