2023.05.30 05:27 wh0man009 27 M4F - Bearded and athletic, new to SF and looking for a FWB
Hi there! I'm 27, 6'0", athletic, bearded, and I like to think pretty attractive. I recently moved to San Francisco for work so I'm looking for a FWB, I figured it might be easier to cut to the chase on reddit instead of the dating app treadmill. I can host and am sane (haha).
In bed, I'm both a huge giver and dominant (think light BDSM). I like to be rough and giving head is my absolute favorite. Also have a bit of a creampie kink (regularly tested, of course).
Outside of bed, I spend a lot of time cooking for friends, time in the sun with outdoor sports, and like trying my hand at landscape photography.
If any of this interests you, feel free to PM me and we can see where it goes!

2023.05.30 05:12 Gloomy_Fig2138 Good school districts that aren’t too intense
I currently live in an ultra competitive school district and that’s not who I want my kids to be. What’s a school district that’s well funded, with good course options and well-paid teachers, but without all the student suicides/ mental health issues from the pressure? Ideally within about 45 minutes’ drive of South San Jose.
Not PAUSD, CUSD, MVWSD, LASD, MVLA, or Fremont Union HSD in Cupertino/Sunnyvale.

- A bolded matchup means that there is a "Probability of Precipitation" greater than 50% in a non-domed stadium at the time of this post.
- An italicized matchup means that it is Game 2 of a doubleheader, which for Pick'Em purposes will not be applicable (only Game 1 is counted, but Game 2 is still included above so that you can be aware that pitching management may be different than a non-doubleheader game day).
- Probable pitchers and stats sourced from mlb.com (via the MLB-StatsAPI); weather data soured from the OpenWeather One Call API.
- Estimated chance of winning percentages sourced from FiveThirtyEight’s 2023 MLB Game Predictions, an ELO-based, easy to understand ratings system.

2023.05.30 04:42 GamingGalore64 My chaotic neutral ancestor Captain John J. Grumbles
| Usually I make posts on here about my glorious Union Army ancestors, but I thought this time I’d take things in a different direction and honor an ancestor of mine who was indeed anti slavery, but had a more…unique…backstory than my other ancestors. This is Captain John J. Grumbles, my 4x great grandfather. He moved to the Republic of Texas shortly after the Texas Revolution, became a Texas Ranger, was involved in the Texan-Indian Wars, wrote Sam Houston an angry letter during the Archive War, and later fought in the Mexican American War. He became very involved in local politics, getting to know four Texan governors personally over the course of his life, including Sam Houston. Through his political connections he secured an appointment to the Provisional Railroad Commission. A lifelong Democrat, he attended the state convention and introduced resolutions supporting states rights but also condemning the idea of secession and calling for compromise. He later became a ferry boat operator and was accused of murder, although he was ultimately acquitted. Every day on Independence Day “J.J.”, as he was often known, hosted a barbecue that was always well attended. Numerous Texan politicians and socialites were known to attend. Although he was a southern Democrat from a slave holding family, J.J. personally opposed slavery, even going so far as to kidnap one of his grandfather’s slaves, a 14 year old girl, and convey her across state lines to freedom (for a fee). He was in the process of conspiring to kidnap his father’s other 9 slaves and convey them to freedom when he was found out and taken to court by his father. Despite his personal stance towards slavery, he did own two slaves during his life, a mother and her young son. Although an effort was made to free them, Texas state law at the time prohibited masters from freeing their slaves, so they were seized by the state and sold to another master. After the Civil War, about a decade later, the Grumbles family would reconnect with the younger of the former slaves and offer to pay for his education. This offer was declined and he instead chose to work on the railroads. J.J. would go on to form a business partnership with a Comanche woman who owned a silver mine and was looking for protection , with J.J. getting an ownership stake in exchange. Then, one day in February of 1858 John J. Grumbles was murdered in a saloon in San Saba, Texas, shot in the head by Sinnett Mussett. Afterwards the Comanche woman disappeared and the mysterious silver mine has never been found. Some treasure hunters have continued to search for it even up to the present day. J.J.’s son John D. Grumbles would go on to serve in the Confederate army for 24 hours before getting kicked out for being too drunk. J.J. was later honored by the Texas state legislature as a “pioneer hero of the Republic of Texas”. submitted by GamingGalore64 to ShermanPosting [link] [comments] |

2023.05.30 02:53 frozen_peachez Help me find this building to help debunk a scam artist’s claims.
Here is the building. There is a scammer on TikTok who scammed money from people. She took donations to fund a documentary on a famous pop star who is missing. She claimed she knew the whereabouts of this pop star and would reveal in her documentary. Concerned fans donated. Anyway, the tiktoker claims when she met with a media company who was going to help produce the doc, it was a setup. She claimed the media company reps drove her to
this warehouse two 1/2 hours away from her hotel in San Francisco, California. When she got there they stole her documentary and all her files and assaulted her. Therefore, no more documentary and people would not get what they paid for.
I believe this building is probably closer to her home in the Toledo, Ohio area, but could very well be a screenshot from some random warehouse from somewhere else. I am trying to prove that this warehouse is not, in fact, in or near San Fran. She is still actively scamming and I am trying to do everything I can to prove that. People are still losing money.
Reverse image searches turned up nothing. I’ve searched for a while but came up empty handed. You guys are better at this than I am, so I appreciate if you try to help!

2023.05.30 02:38 Unique-Coat396 Help me get closure on a paranormal event in my childhood
This happened when I was about 10-11 years old in a small town called Burlingame, California in the US. I’m graduating soon and met up with some old friends which got us on the topic. Please, make this make sense.
As I said, when I was maybe 10/11/12 in 5th or 6th grade, two friends and I were playing on our schools field. I will be bold and say that it is the field of Franklin Elementary. Maybe knowing the exact location will help you guys propose theories.
I remember we played “Get Down Mr. President,” a game where one person is designated as the “President” and the other two have to tackle him. We had music going on my friend A’s speaker, but we tuned it out beneath the sounds of our yells and laughs, etc. Afternoon turned to evening, and I’m assuming that this incident happened in the Spring or Summer because I distinctly remember it being bright out and warm even though it was maybe 6PM or 7PM.
Eventually, I began hearing a jingle like an ice cream truck, specifically the Mr. Softee’s Ice Cream Truck Jingle. Because we were playing music, I thought it was the intro from the song “Ring-Tone Shortie” by Frit$, a song I listened to at the time. However, it seems to last far longer than the intro to the three minute song.
I started getting very freaked out because it wasn’t stopping even after maybe half an hour of us playing, so I called my Dad to pick me up.
If you look at Franklin Elementary from a street-view perspective, there’s this tall staircase that leads up from the field to the third building, the closest building to the field that we called “Wing Three.” When my Dad called and said he had arrived at the parking lot, I had to ascend those steps. I remember that as I climbed, the jingle seemed to raise in volume and I got so frightened that I sprinted out to the car.
Afterward, once I had come home to my house in Hillsborough, a neighboring section of the city, I got a call from my other friend, T. T said that he and A had ran all the way to their neighboring apartments from the field after they began hearing the same jingle I had and got spooked. We confirmed the next day that we heard the same thing after we took turns humming the tunes from the day prior. From there, we looked around YouTube and the internet and pinpointed it to the Mr. Softee’s Ice Cream Truck theme. However, our research never turned up an explanation.
My parents are both practicing Physicians at the Sutter Health Hospital in San Francisco, and neither of them could offer up a medical explanation. My father mentioned that it could’ve been a strange tinnitus (ringing of the ear), but this didn’t make sense to me because it was so distinctly clear and all three of us heard it, all at slightly different times. T and A didn’t have any proposals either besides making a post on a forum, so here I am.
Please, if anyone has experienced something similar, what was it? I know that this is sort of vague and strange but it really nags me. Thoughts?
Edit: Trust me, it wasn’t an ice cream truck. It lasted for at least half an hour straight with unwavering volume and pace. Also, in the nearly two decades I’ve lived here, I’ve never seen it heard an ice cream truck here outside of this one truck near the city’s middle school that’s run by this middle eastern man. Even then, it doesn’t have music or speakers and isn’t Mr. Softee’s, it’s like his own independent thing. Also, we continued playing the area when we went to middle school because they r across the street from one another, and we never heard any ice cream trucks before or after that one day.

2023.05.30 02:34 Beneficial_Sir_725 Finalizing School List - Please Help!
Stats: 4.0 GPA, 516 MCAT
ORM; NJ resident
ECs:
~1,500 clinical hours through EMT, volunteer and paid + good LOR
~400 clinical hours through volunteering at nursing home; award for involvement
~1,500 non-clinical service hours as COO and co-founder of a nonprofit focused on addressing disparities in community health education, org has grown a lot and made a nice impact
~1,500 leadership hours: president of two student organizations (one that I co-founded; both are tied into my clinical experiences), RA, TI, intern for nonprofit related to clinical volunteering, etc.
~2,500 hours research + 1 4th author publication + thesis project with 2 awards + poster presentations + great PI LOR
~75 hours of shadowing
Taking 1 gap year to do part-time research and part-time patient care tech
My MCAT is definitely low for the top medical schools as an ORM, but again thinking about shooting my shot to more holistic ones. I also tried to do a decent amount of research on mission fit and in-state bias when narrowing down the list. Let me know of any other mid/low tier schools I should add... If you have any of the parts in the title I’m interested! Also if anyone is looking to sell a good carry-on or personal item-sized bag to travel with the T1, that’d be much appreciated. I’m in San Francisco in case local meetup is possible.

2023.05.30 02:14 Ficboy What will the Athletics gain and lose from a move to Las Vegas?
Pros:
- A shiny, state-of-the-art ballpark with 30,000 seats, a retractable roof and a price tag of $1.5 billion partly financed by the state of Nevada and Clark County, respectively, built on the site of the Tropicana Las Vegas hotel-casino with the ability to host events such as the World Series, the All-Star Game, the World Baseball Classic, NCAA baseball, concerts, soccer and others compared to the Oakland Coliseum.
- An untapped market for the MLB with plenty of sports potential, as demonstrated by the success of the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights and the out-of-state visitors for the NFL's Raiders.
- A geographically-close Minor League Baseball (MiLB) affiliate sharing the same city in the Triple-A Las Vegas Aviators of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) which makes calling up prospects easier as Summerlin South is in the same metropolitan area as the Strip specifically the Las Vegas Valley.
- An adjacent hotel-casino owned and operated by the Bally's Corporation bringing some visitors from the ballpark to here.
- Not having to compete with the San Francisco Giants for the same market (Bay Area).
- The franchise's total net worth goes up.
Cons:
- Much of their fanbase is based in Northern California, especially the Bay Area, and won't support them in Las Vegas.
- Competition from the aforementioned Golden Knights and Raiders for the attention and dollars of the average resident in Las Vegas and the state of Nevada as well as the Aviators and Reno Aces to a lesser degree.
- The Athletics will be moribund for some time. With their Northern California fanbase mostly gone, they will need to build a new fanbase from scratch in the Las Vegas Valley and Nevada by being competitive and don't have the international appeal and glamor of the Raiders.
- For a few seasons, the team will have to play either at Las Vegas Ballpark, which is located away from the Strip in the scorching hot Nevada sun and under capacity by Major League Baseball standards to boot or remain at the Oakland Coliseum to a disgruntled fanbase and city that doesn't want them anymore.
