We’ve been married for 17 years. It has been a tough tough journey. In the beginning, I was a bit immature. Also didn’t try my best to find work, but she stuck by me and even supported us in those first 2 years. I was going to university at the time, and thought that I would land that perfect job. So I was stupid to think if I hold out a little longer, the company I wanted to go to would hire me. I had won a few awards, and was full of myself.
She was the bread winner, and I sometimes helped her at her work. We were innocent, naive, and simple. However we did fight like all young couples, and she did threaten to leave me, though she never did. As I promise to change. Thinking back, I’ve been trying to change for her since that time…
Then I got a call from my dad. He was dying, and only had less than 2 years. He helped pay for all of my educational shenanigans. And being the eldest, it was my duty to take care of him. My dad lived in another country, so my wife and I packed up and relocated.
It was hard for us both. It was a really really hard for her. I got my act together, and had to support her and dad. We spent all our savings on flight and logistics and with barely any money, and working odd hours. It was stressful, but we tried our best to make it pleasant. She made some friends from church, I managed to enroll her to a local university to learn the local language while I worked.
It slowly got better, as she began to form her social circles. Here friends from university, tend to be married into rich and affluent families. Soon she complained about not having name brand bags that cost a whole months worth of salary. We fought and bickered. She tells me, why I would always say no to buying things for her, especially when other husbands would just say ok to their wives.
Eventually I landed a better paying job that paid double the previous. I even introduced her into the company, and she was even hired as a sales assistant. It was very cool, and I was happy we got to go to work together, and leave work together. The extra money really helped the situation more. It was hard work, but it felt good to make money. It felt good to treat her as she deserved to be treated.
Then my dad died. We cremated him, and I don’t remember much, but she was there with me. I really appreciated her being there. Not long after, my mom move in, and things got a bit worse. My wife complained about money, apartment, the way I communicated with her, my mother, etc. To be fair, all those things were valid points for complaint, but very unnecessary. Through thick and thin, I said to myself. It was just very hard to not to get her angry. I believe she threatened divorce again. I had to ask my mom to move out.
Then we made up and had our first child and second child. Continue to argue. She fights and blows up over the smallest things. Lectures me , the kids for hours if we didn’t do as she said. Then she stared withholding intimacy. It had happened before, but not to the extent and frequency as it has been. Compounded by all the fighting and her cussing me out. I became tired, vengeful, and e started chatting to some women from dating apps. Eventually went on a few dates and sexual encounters.
But the guilt was too much. I confessed to my wife. We almost broke up, but she accepted my apology. Since then, when ever she was angry with me, the words she used became more vindictive and hurtful. I don’t say anything, because of my infidelity. My biggest mistakes to look elsewhere for comfort and sexual gratification. I regret it so much.
I have been sleeping on the couch, off and on, for the last 3 years ;70% of the time. She is angry all the time. So I just tip toe and try to a paid confrontation. It’s terrible. I now ham recovering from a serious health condition, due to multiple surgeries. She threatened to divorce, which my kids have heard on numerous occasions. I feel so bad for my kids, having to experience so much fighting.
Finally, last week. We got into an argument about why I was upset at the restaurant. She was telling my kids off in public for chatting and being kids. Then when finally home, she said she wanted divorce. I finally gave in. During the last 7 days, I talked to my children, and told them about what wrong I had done. I told them it was my fault. I told them both mom and I love them always. It was my mistake, and my responsibility alone.
Today, she hands me the papers which she had signed last week. Tells me I owe her money. She’s not my house keeper. We have loans under my name, and she expect me to take a loan out and pay her with it. She wanted to take both my kids, but one wanted to stay with me. She was furious. I was called many things again. I tell her we can sell the car. I giver her a few months of my saved salary.
I don’t know what to do. I’m just sad our family is broken up because of my mistakes, my infidelity. My kids will need to grow up far apart. My kids are heartbroken I told them it’s daddy’s fault. And I am so so sorry.
I got 2 weeks to borrow more money. I gotta pay for their airfare, living expenses, etc. The previous loan she insisted on for Bitcoin and crypto, did not translate into anything. If I don’t, I truly think I won’t see my youngest child again.
Any advise greatly welcomed.

I find it absurd how so many people dismiss or downplay this feeling of concern for the future just because they have some shallow skepticism about technology advancements.
For those who are already employed, this may take a few more years to become a major problem, but imagine the mind of someone who is currently studying:
Imagine a 14-year-old teenager who is considering pursuing a certain profession. Considering that this person will follow the traditional path of finishing high school, attending college, and only getting a job after graduation, he/she will only enter the job market in about 8 years, almost a decade. With generative AI's advancing exponentially, and considering that the first AGI may emerge in the next decade, which job will actually survive all that time without it's market becoming saturated, precarious, or even extinct due to competition with AI? And how will these people continue to study and live normally knowing that the future is so uncertain?

All past industrial revolutions were about machines replacing humans in manual labor jobs. Now it's different, Generative Artificial Intelligences can replace humans even in creative, intellectual, and complex areas, replacing people who have studied for years and years in industries we never imagined that could have robots performing it, demolishing the concept of "stable jobs". The potential for damage is much greater because humanity has never experienced this level of mass automation of specialized jobs before.

"It will only replace you if you are lazy and don't adapt to it!

Generative AI will not (yet) directly replace you, they will multiply your productivity and make your job easier to the point where the job of 10 people can now be done by only 1 person, allowing companies to lay off several people to cut costs and increase profits.
In the end, specialized individuals (even if they have "adapted" to AI tools) will be replaced by a single prompter with basic (but enough) knowledge of the field who charges much less to deliver the same result. When people say "AI will create more jobs" they're actually referring to this without knowing.
Except for the highly specific and technical jobs that envolves the programming itself of these technologies, the mass of these "new jobs" are all about replacing people with less people, and producing more for the same salary.
This will lead to a social situation where it will be practically impossible to get into any job if you have never worked in that area before, as the demand for workers is expected to be laughably low due to the high productivity that technology advancements provides, and the large number of individuals who are no longer useful in any area, but still need a job to live.
Summing it up, you will be replaced, but with extra steps.

In our system, convenience and profit outweighs quality.
Imagine the following situation: a company needs a artwork for a banner. They can pay the full price to hire a specialized human artist or literally pay nothing to have a slightly inferior result produced by Stable Diffusion open source AI. Which option do you think they will choose? (This situation ignores the fact that AI's can create thousands of different artworks in minutes for the best one to be chosen or modified).
If AI competition made you charge 90% less to work the same hours, your job is already dead. It doesn't need to literally vanish, and that's the point.
Videos generated by AI are laughably bad, right? Just like images generated by AI were one year ago... Does that mean something to you? Apply that to freelance music production, 3d modelling and programming as well; Or basically every job, depending on how far into the future you're willing to think. I'm only talking about the next two decades.
Basically, AI doesn't have to embody the perfection of a human to fuck up an entire market area, it simply needs to make everything easier and more accessible, to the point where people no longer feel the need to hire a human to do it. So, there is no such thing as the "human factor" as long as the AI does what needs to be done.

GPT-4 can already understand audio, images, and text in an almost human-like manner. It's impossible not to see the enormous potential this has to affect various areas beyond the typical "office work." But even if we assume that only computer-based jobs are affected, that would already be enough to cause a mass migration of workers to other areas, which would heavily impact those areas since there wouldn't be enough jobs for everyone. Medicine could be one of them, as it is a field that will not be negatively affected by AI for now.

That's actually true in my case. I'm a 22-year-old isolated NEET/shut-in/Hikikomori. I don't talk to anyone, i didn't go to university and I never had a job, I simply stay in my room all day mostly doing nothing because I don't find pleasure in anything. Although I generally don't feel many emotions, the only thing that makes me cry is this overwhelming feeling of hopelessness about the future. It's terrible to think that I can't contribute anything to society and i never will, it feels like I was born in the worst era to start doing anything at all. The era where everyone has done everything, every market is saturated or extremely competitive, no one wants workers, too much people is trying to overcome you, rental prices are unrealistic high in anywhere, and everything is just going to get worse and worse... It's just too much information for someone whose parents didn't teach him anything about the world. I was just irresponsibly thrown at a school (An ambient truly hated since i was a kid) and now society magically wants me to have the willpower and competence to compete with ultra-intelligent robots and ultra-motivated people who were taught to be competitive by their parents. I was a lone kid with no parents around but my mother.
Anyway, I am not in a therapy session, and I don't want to be the harbinger of the apocalypse, but I am obviously quite pessimistic about the future. Automation would theoretically be exclusively positive, and I think it will eventually be, but the problem lies in the transition to that. In the next two decades, many people will totally lose their value in the job market, and the government has no plan to contain this or provide any social security for the population that will become unemployed.
Currently, I'm trying to learn Unreal Engine and Video Editing so that I can engage in something valuable to earn some money. However, this constant mental struggle and uncertainty about the future prevent me from maintaining consistency in my efforts. It truly feels like dying is the most reasonable option for me so that I won't be a burden to anyone, but I'm making an effort to stay alive and do things correctly.
I hope to become a little more optimistic and overcome this lack of perspective i have so that I can accomplish tasks and genuinely experience emotions again. However, the future seems doomed and artificial, and I'm not sure if i wanna live in it.

Hello everyone, I received a job offer for a position located in Birkirkara and I have few questions about the city.
From my research I found that it’s one of the most populated cities in Malta, so I figure the rent would be expensive? I will probably want to rent a studio in a good condition, away from the construction noises as I have found this may be an issue for living there.
I also want to know what is the average cost of living in Birkirkara ? so I can have an idea of what would the ideal salary be.

Based on recent data, observations, and feedback from players, we intend to make the following adjustments during scheduled weekly maintenance (on June 6 in this region).

  • All damage abilities increased by 8%.

Druid

• Feral
• Developers’ notes: The following set bonus changes will increase the average number of stacks of the (2) Set Bonus and cause the (4) Set Bonus to trigger less often, but provide more Agility when it does.
  • Aberrus (2) Set Bonus: Chance for Shadows of the Predator stacks to reset reduced by 15%.
  • Aberrus (4) Set Bonus: Now increases Agility by 8% (was 5%).

Evoker

• Preservation
• Developers’ notes: We would like there to be more of a reward to using Disintegrate over Living Flame as a Preservation Evoker, since it has a high Essence cost.
  • Disintegrate damage has been increased by 15% for Preservation Evoker.

Hunter

  • All damage dealt by you and your pet’s abilities increased by 5%.

  • Fatality Fatal Mark damage increased by 15%.

• Developers’ notes: Protection Warriors are not currently performing as competitively as we would like compared to most other tanks in terms of damage and survivability.

  • Thunderlord now causes each enemy hit by Thunder Clap to reduce the remaining cooldown of Demoralizing Shout by 1.5 seconds, up to 4.5 seconds (was 1.0 seconds, up to 3.0 seconds).

Player versus Player

Druid

• Balance
• Developers’ notes: Balance Druids have been overperforming due to their ability to generate so much Astral Power and deal high damage by applying dots and casting Starfall repeatedly. We’d like to reduce the effectiveness of that playstyle since it’s difficult for opponents to stop. Goldrinn’s Fang also became much more effective in Embers of Neltharion, and includes some randomness and ability to score kills unexpectedly. Finally, Owlkin Adept has been a locked-in talent for a while now and has been propping up their control a bit more than we’re comfortable with.
  • Moonfire and Sunfire generate 4 Astral Power when cast in PvP combat (was 6).
  • Stellar Innervation increases Astral Power generation of Moonfire and Sunfire by 50% in PvP combat (was 100%).
  • Star Burst grants 8 Astral Power (was 15).
  • Owlkin Adept reduces the cast time of Cyclone and Entanglng Roots by 20% (was 30%).
  • Goldrinn’s Fang damage is reduced by 50% in PvP combat.
  • Wrath and Starfire deal 60% increased damage in PvP combat (was 50%).

Hunter

• Marksmanship
• Developers’ notes: Marksmanship Hunters have been underperforming in different forms of PvP content.
  • Aimed Shot damage increased by 25% in PvP combat (was 15%).
  • Rapid Fire damage increased by 25% in PvP combat (was 15%).
  • Arcane Shot damage increased by 25% in PvP combat (was 16%).

Priest

• Discipline
• Developers’ notes: Discipline has been more reliant on shields this season than we’d like. We’re increasing Atonement healing while bringing down the power of shields, with the goal of the preferred playstyle being an offensive one. We’re also targeting the mana reduction from Inner Light, as Discipline has been more mana efficient than we’d like.
  • Power Word: Shield now absorbs 15% less damage in PvP combat.
  • Inner Light now reduces the mana cost of the affected spells by 10% (was 15%).
  • Atonement healing is now 50% more effective in PvP combat (was 40%).

Mage

• Fire
• Developers’ notes: Glass Cannon is intended to have high risk and high reward with its gameplay, and we feel the risk is too low for the benefit it provides, especially when paired with Flamecannon.
  • Glass Cannon now decreases maximum health by 20% (was 15%)
  • Flamecannon now increases maximum health by 2% per stack (was 3%).

Monk

• Mistweaver
• Developers’ notes: Mistweavers have been overperforming compared to other healers, especially due to their mana efficiency.
  • Soulfang Infusion now regenerates 75% less Mana in PvP combat (was 50%).
  • Zen Spheres now cost 0.5% base Mana.
  • Enveloping Mist now heals for 5% more in PvP combat (was 20%).
  • Mistweaver Monks now regenerate 15% less Mana in PvP combat (was 10%).
• Windwalker
• Developers’ notes: Whirling Dragon Punch has felt underwhelming and we’d like it to feel impactful to use without being a major portion of a Windwalker’s damage profile.
  • Whirling Dragon Punch damage increased by 80% in PvP combat.

Shaman

• Enhancement
• Developers’ notes: There are a few talents that are leading to fast kills that can feel unfair when facing an Enhancement Shaman. We’re aiming to bring down the burst potential from cooldowns and increase sustained DPS.
  • Forceful Winds is now 75% effective in PvP Combat.
  • The damage increase to Lava Lash from Ashen Catalyst is now 33% effective in PvP combat.
  • Lava Lash now deals 35% increased damage in PvP combat (was 15%).
  • The Physical damage increase from Feral Spirit is now 33% effective in PvP combat.
  • The Fire, Frost, and Lightning damage increase from Elemental Spirits is now 50% effective in PvP combat.
  • Stormstrike now deals 75% increased damage in PvP combat (was 50%).
  • Windstrike now deals 75% increased damage in PvP combat (was 50%).
• Restoration
• Developers’ notes: We feel Restoration Shaman is in a good spot. Rain Dance wasn’t as valuable as we were anticipating, so we’re aiming to increase its viability.
  • Rain Dance now increases the healing done by Healing Rain by 30% (was 20%).
  • Rain Dance now reduces the mana cost of Healing Rain by 45% (was 30%).

Rogue

• Subtlety
• Developers’ notes: Burst damage from Subtlety has been higher than we’d like this season. We’re looking to keep the spec in a strong position while toning down their burst potential in short windows.
  • Secret Technique damage is now reduced by 33% in PvP combat (was 25%).
  • Shadowstrike and Backstab damage from Weaponmaster is now 50% effective in PvP combat.
  • Flagellation’s Mastery bonus is now 80% effective in PvP combat.
  • Dark Shadow is now 67% effective in PvP combat (was 80%).

Warlock

• Developers’ notes: Inquisitor’s Gaze has been dealing a sizeable portion of Warlock damage this season, and we’d like damage to come primarily from active spells.
  • Fel Barrage from Inquisitor’s Gaze now deals 40% reduced damage in PvP combat.
  • Developers’ note: The high frequency of Amplify Curse has been problematic in PvP combat.
  • The cooldown of Amplify Curse is now 60 seconds (was 30 seconds).
  • Teachings of the Satyr now reduces the cooldown of Amplify Curse by 15 seconds (was 10 seconds).
• Affliction
• Developers’ notes: We are increasing the damage of Unstable Affliction’s backlash effect to lessen the value of dispelling Affliction’s damage over time effects. It’s been lower than we’d like, in addition to healers gaining extra health this season. Additionally, we’re increasing Shadow Bolt damage as the reward for casting it is lower than we’d like.
  • Unstable Affliction backlash damage increased by 50%.
  • Shadow Bolt damage increased by 30% in PvP combat.
• Destruction
• Developers’ notes: Destruction’s sustained DPS has been high and we feel this is mainly due to Shadowburn’s high multiplier. We would like for instant casts to be strong but not be the primary way to land kills.
  • Conflagration damage is now reduced by 15% in PvP combat (was 9%).
  • Shadowburn damage is now increased by 15% in PvP combat (was 45%).
• Demonology
• Developers’ notes: Demonology’s healing reduction effect from their Felguard was one of the best healing reductions in the game, which didn’t feel appropriate given the class identity, how easy it is to apply, and how it can be applied to multiple targets at a time. Along with Affliction, we’re also increasing the damage of Shadow Bolt in PvP, as the reward for casting it is low.
  • Legion Strike reduces healing taken by 20% in PvP (was 25%).
  • Shadow Bolt damage increased by 30% in PvP combat.

Hey all, I know there are a lot of people complaining about "nothing-burgers" and grifters however I think people forget there is a large percentage of the USA/World that will only believe something if their favorite source of media tells them it is true/fascinating. If the 2016 election didn't teach you anything about this then I think a lot of yall' are a lost cause in this endeavor.
People like Lazar, Corbell, Joe Rogan and many others are getting folks interested in this, even if it does come off as disingenuous and at times seems to be grifting. There are definitely people who are just in this to make a quick buck but that is the same with ANY kind of study about something bizarre/outlandish/fringe by public standards. All it takes is someone with enough pull socially to force this topic even further, we need to keep grabbing more folks. Hell the fact I just saw a clip of Obama talking to Colbert saying he "can't talk about it" when asked about UAPs/UFOs should be enough to give someone pause. Imagine if MrBeast for example got behind this with his fans/money. More eyes on this regardless is more people who are now hearing about it and or wanting to to learn more. There are plenty of folks who have shared some really cool stuff regarding UAP that then later they share something that isn't legit/doesn't add up and now they are forever blacklisted. Only a Sith deals in absolutes.

I’m choosing and buying the tablecloths and runners for the wedding myself because for some reason it’s more expensive to use a rental company in my area. But, I don’t know if there are rules to this and if there are, I’m having trouble finding them online. I want to do white tablecloths and emerald green runners. Satin is the less costly option but is it weird to do a satin tablecloth with a satin table runner on top? Are you supposed to do that or are you supposed to mix textures? Also I’ve been playing around with the idea of placemats because we’re doing compostable plates to save money. But the one article I found online says you shouldn’t do tablecloths and placemats so is that true or just one random guy’s opinion?

About 4 years ago I made a post wondering if my 3ish year old PSU was dying because my PC would fairly consistently crash and then restart immediately upon waking up from sleep. I had ended up just unplugging and re-plugging everything connected to the PSU and that seemed to fix the issue.
A fairly regular on-going issue that started happening at some point not too long after that was that my PC would fully crash when playing games and it was completely randomly. I really have barely used my PC since that post, but I have dusted it off recently to play Honkai: Star Rail and the server slam for Diablo 4. I have had 0 issues playing Star Rail and had almost no issues with probably about 5 or so hours of Diablo. However, then I was rudely reminded of my issue when my PC crashed playing it, just finding some mobs - nothing out of the ordinary.
I'm having a very hard time deciding whether to get Diablo on my PC or PS5 because I'd definitely much rather play on PC, but not if I'm going to have to deal with this crashing.
I just ran some tests on OCCT and the first one I did was the power test. My whole PC crashed about 40 seconds in. I immediately thought, wow I guess my PSU is the culprit! Then I figured I would do a little more testing first and everything else came back fine with no crashes or errors. Then I did 2 more power tests, though, and both were fine, so now I'm confused.
I'm wondering if this is actually very likely to be my PSU being the problem because, just like in the games, I crashed once, but then didn't crash the other 2 times? Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'd like to just get a new PSU and give it a go, but I'd really rather not spend the money on that unless I'm almost positive it will help things.

Hello, I've been debating whether to go from 0 to CFI at my local part 61 or get my PPL here and go to a 4 year like Purdue and UND. People say it's a lot cheaper to go to the part 61 but I'm not so sure how much this saves as the cheapest planes cost 160 to rent and CFIs cost 80 an hour.
On the other hand, I was wondering how much aid I could get if I do go to a 4 year, and how much more expensive that would be compared to a part 61. I heard that aviation degrees are a waste of time and money so I don't know if I should:

1. Get an aviation degree at a 4 year with R-ATP (I heard some schools like Purdue can have you finish in 3 years if you come in with a PPL)
2. Get another degree from an aviation college like Purdue but use their flight program
3. Go to another university entirely and get a degree in an unrelated field and then go to a part 61
4. Go to a part 61 now (In the start of summer vacation of Junior year) and get an online bachelor's from a sketchy college

I'm a Junior in high school that was originally gunning into a stem field, (3.97 UW 4.7 W, top 10, tons of extracurriculars) but I don't know how I can use this "advantage" into making this flying thing go smoother or give it up entirely.
I feel like the fourth option is the fastest and cheapest but I might get fucked over if I lose my medical, but at the same time I really don't know how much I can save and feel like everything I have done in high school would go to waste.

I hope the movement to get rid of (or de-emphasize) the LSAT fails. People keep saying the LSAT favors privileged people and it does, but not nearly as much as undergrad GPA and "soft" factors like fancy internships, elite undergrads, doing charity work abroad, etc all of which are far more impacted by both your background and having a financial safety net from family. If we get rid of the LSAT, candidates are still going to be screened and compared against each other, so de facto all those other things I describe will become more important. Notice for example that Yale is the only school I'm aware of that really does have a more "holistic" faculty review process, and lo and behold Yale is also one of the most elitist schools with a super high concentration of Ivy undergrads and other signals of privilege.
While the current system has flaws, some poor kid from the worst possible background with zero money or resources or pedigree can theoretically show up on test day and crush the LSAT. They can also get good grades in college, though if they have to support family or maintain a job of course that makes GPA harder. Anyway, those two numbers can get ANYONE into a T14 regardless of their background, and thus set them onto an easy path to generational wealth if they choose it.
Farmer kids from the Midwest, inner city foster kids, first gen immigrants, anyone. Again, not a perfect system by any stretch but compared to most life paths in this country I think it's an amazing opportunity for a smart person to leapfrog several financial and social classes in a single generation. Hope it stays that way!

Im 21 never owned my own car before. I am in the airforce however, so i have some extra money to spend.
I was looking at this black 1999 nissan s15 for like 20k, but honestly could just be stupid because i thought the car looked cool. Seems a bit pricy for me and i know its an older model. Not only that but it has 85,000 km in mileage as well so im not completely trustworthy of its condition. Im not the type to just waste money either.
What im saying is im looking for something cost effective, cool, and maybe not so common. Any advice would be appreciated.

I promise this isn’t a ‘what car should I buy’ post.
I’m interested in Nissan and Toyota Crossovers.
I found a 2016 rouge that has a CVT. I personally don’t have an issue with CVT as a concept, but my understanding is on a lot of cars; especially with Jatco models, they are put in as a cost saving measure, and really cheaply made.
Nissan owns Jatco, so I don’t think it’s a stretch to be worried about it
Does anyone here have any experience with them? Does anyone know if they are faulty, or prone to break more than a traditional transmission.
