so a while ago the Messianicphobic crowd decided to create a sub in an effort to address things that we supposedly claim (which is funny because a huge majority of things I've seen from it are things that have never even left my mouth EVER) this is my first of X posts that ill be doing addressing this total lunacy.
The first one being on Maimonides and Apostates Jews.
before I even begin to address the post in question its important to note that Maimonides was not a member of Chazal, he wasn't a member of the Great Court and thus did not have authentic Semikhah going back to Mount Sinai as such, what he says is fundamentally his opinion. An opinion some readers my agree with sure, but an opinion all the same. Ergo NOT AUTHORTATIVE. so with out of the way let us begin

"A Jew who serves false gods is considered like a gentile in all regards and is not comparable to a Jew who violated another transgression punishable by being stoned to death. An apostate who worships false gods is considered to be an apostate with regard to the entire Torah."

The post starts with this quote from the Mishnah Torah. the linch pin here in the wording of "false gods" I'm willing to concede that Maimonides would have likly seen normative Christianity as such however Messianic Judaism IS NOT normative Christianity and only someone unfamiliar with our community would be foolish enough to think otherwise. Messianic Judaism is not any form of Christianity that Maimonides would have even recognized as it didn't exist in his time. So to even add on to Maimonides words and to enter his mind and in essence make up conclusions no one could ever truly know is far beyond the pale of reason.
Furthermore Maimonides viewed normative Christianity as idolatry and for good reason, Many Christians in his time were unironically worshiping the Cross itself and used the image Rabbi Yeshua as God. Now I cannot speak for everyone here, I can only speak as a member of UMJC / MJRC standards that you'd be hard press to find anyone in my particular party doing anything Maimonides would recognize as being part of the idolatry problems within normative Christianity. Which further complicates the suggestion that the original poster somehow knows what Maimonides would think about the state of todays world.

The Talmud clearly labels Christianity avodah zarah (idolatry) in the tractate Avodah Zarah 7b. Messianics are Christians and therefore idolaters.

This is not how identity works, you can think we're Christians and certainly via some definitions that would be true to some capacity but what does Avodah Zarah 7b actually say?

This section of the Talmud seems to conflate the notion of being Christian as having festivals (day of worship) on Sunday, Messianics have it on Saturday like any other normative Jew. this may seem like pilpul but it is a total issue on definitions. the Rabbi's who wrote this should have had a time machine I guess as far as they're concerned on this particular section the conditions are LITERALLY not met, but wait there's MORE! The more eagle eyed might have caught on that this is on section on the prohibition of BUSSNESS. the actual status as idol worship doesn't actually appear here. Why the original poster failed to double check this is beyond me. Perhaps he skipped that day at Yeshiva? Indeed that issue in reality comes from that of The Trinity which some Messiaincs COMPLETELY REJECT you'd think for someone who hates us this much that they would bother to do their homework and work out if this is even applicable?! Furthermore there are respected Rabbis who do not agree with this view at all The Meiri in his commentary on Avodah Zarah 2b and 6b states that Christanity IS NOT idol worship. I guess The Meiri must have been some manic closeted Messianic?

As idolaters, even those Messianics from a Jewish background have effectively removed themselves from Am Yisrael. According to Judaism, Messianics are unequivocally not Jews.

I just rewatched the first movie and boy do I have a CRAVING. I forgot how much I loved Jesse and Beca's relationship 😩 Looking for books with that kind of vibe, specifically:
- main male character being interested in the female main character from the beginning and pining LOUDLY but not disrespectfully - kind of a grumpy x sunshine dynamic, or maybe more of a golden retriever x perpetual cynic energy - witty banter, a clear friendship between the characters - light angst in the conflict, rooted mostly in the characters' internal emotional baggage - bonus points for a fun ensemble cast & good world-building (kind of like how Emily Henry's worlds and characters always feel "lived in" without overloading readers with too many unnecessary details) - main male character is a supportive KING - bonus points if the main male character also has his hang-ups -- that's the only criticism that I have of the Jesse x Beca relationship
The only book that I can think of that kiiiind of hits these elements is Book Lovers by Emily Henry. I would love other recs 🥺 thank you!!

I know this has been talked about before, but I felt like most theories I've read about Daenerys' prophecies don't make sense to me. Especially the 333 prophecy.
Three fires must you light… one for life and one for death and one to love…
I believe these fires she lights refer to magical fires. The popular theory for the fire to light is the pyre that created the dragons. I agree with this.
The fire for death I believe will occur like in the show, in which Daenerys lights the khals and crones that do not submit to her afire to untie the hordes under her rule. It makes sense. It shows her dominance, which the Dothraki respect.
The fire for love I believe to be a fire sacrifice she will make to have a baby with Jon Snow. This could be any number of fires she sets when she invades Westeros. The reason for this is due to the other prophecy made in the first book:

When the sun rises in the West and sets in the East. When the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When your womb quickens again, and you bear a living child. Then he will return and not before

So far this all seems pretty standard consensus in the fandom, and it that make sense to me. But now here's where I feel most people give confusing theories:
Three mounts must you ride… one to bed and one to dread and one to love…
The popular theory is that this refers to lovers, but that makes no sense for a variety of reasons. Daenerys has already had numerous lovers, and it all seems inconsequential for a prophecy to be like, here's some people you'll fuck or marry or whatever. She already fucks more than 3 people, and she didn't just marry Drogo to bed. She was forced into it. The mount to bed is Silver, but she's not fucking the horse. She mounts Silver and jumps over a fire in order to move on through the ceremony and bed Drogo afterwards. It's treated as a big moment in the books. It’s the first moment in the story in which Dany overcomes fear and begins to take control over her destiny. Silver becomes her spirit animal in many ways, and its death in book 2 is heartbreaking for her. This is her first mount, representing her first leap into adulthood.
The mount to dread is Drogon. She learns to ride Drogon at the end of DWD, and it's incredibly taxing, violent, and bloody. She abandons peace and compromise and has chosen Fire and Blood. Daenerys will ride Drogon to unite the Dothraki. Drogon is the Stallion Who Mounts the World. This is the scariest leap into adulthood, and it leads to pain, suffering, and filth. It relates to losing her innocence and desire for peace. It also calls back to the Black Dread.
The mount to love is the most unclear, since I think it hasn't happened yet, but she will have to mount another animal in order to love. This must have to do with Jon Snow. My guess is that she rides Ghost while Jon rides one of her dragons. But this will lead to her conceiving a living child with him no doubt and be the end to that quickening womb prophecy.
Three treasons will you know… once for blood and once for gold and once for love…
The popular belief is Daenerys will be betrayed, due to Daenerys herself thinking this in the books, but it really doesn't make sense.

“The Undying of Qarth had told her she would be thrice betrayed. Mirri Maz Duur had been the first, Ser Jorah the second. Would Reznak be the third? The Shavepate? Daario? Or will it be someone I would never suspect, Ser Barristan or Grey Worm or Missandei?” – (Daenerys I, ADWD)

The previous parts of the prophecy are about things Daenerys must do, so there's no reason for the third part to be any different. Plus, she's already been betrayed more than three times by multiple people. George is misdirecting for most of the book by using Daenerys' POV to steer readers into the wrong direction of thought. It seems clear that Daenerys will be the one doing the betraying. The clearest hint that its Daenerys being the betrayer is clearly spelled out in Daenerys X of DWD when she talks to a vision of Viserys.

"Only when you woke the dragon. I loved you."
“You sold me. You betrayed me.”
"No. You were the betrayer. You turned against me, against your own blood. They cheated me..."

I think George intended this to be a big reveal for readers paying attention. This is a fitting conclusion to Daenerys' arc in DWD. The whole book she is paranoid and thinking about how to achieve peace and avoid conflict, but in this chapter she realizes she must embrace her true nature of Fire and Blood, and that it really is herself that is the betrayer. Her whole arc is about starting as an indecisive innocent girl and becoming an assertive conqueror.
The treason she will know for blood was Viserys. What's interesting is that Viserys says that she turned against her own blood, meaning the treason was not to get blood, but the one betrayed was her blood.
The treason she will know for gold seems to have not happened yet. Daenerys will commit treason against someone that represents gold or where gold plays a significant role. She will need gold to go to Westeros. Gold wins wars. I suspect it could be Tyrion or whoever ends up being her Master of Coin. It could also be someone in Qarth such as Quaithe or Xaro.
The treason she will know for love means Daenerys will betray someone she loves or she will betray someone else for her love. It definitely relates to Jon. Many say what happened in the show could occur, in which Daenerys burns King's Landing. Maybe she promises Jon she won't, but she does anyways. Another possibility is Daenerys may willingly sacrifice herself to stop the whitewalkers. Maybe she knows she is Nissa Nissa and bares her chest for Jon. Maybe she promises Jon that she will not sacrifice herself, but she does anyways to save him and the realm.

As the title says, i noticed the BIG difference in wich manga reader's and anime only's perceived the character "Akane". The comments in reddit and other media when Akane was in a manga chapter CLEARLY showed that Akane was not treated the same way they treated Kana. As the manga continued Akane raised her popularity both inside and outside the manga but at slow pace and now even if she is A LOT more popular than she was when introduced, that still isn't enough to compete with Kana (the promotional material, this biased reddit page xD, the opening showing like 6 scenes of Kana and 2 of Akane, Mengo doing like 5 arts of Kana 1 week and 2 of Akane with 4 months of difference beetwen them).
BUT surprisingly Akane in the anime is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE, Oshi no ko after his first episode was slowly decreasing his audience and ratings as shown in estadistics and ratings or views in youtube, etc. But ever since Akane was introduced to anime only's the show peaked AGAIN in popularity (finally beating gundam in "anime trending", Akane becoming THE FIRST CHARACTER EVER to rise to top 1 in best girl of the week in the same episode she was focused, millons of views in videos and shorts that feautered her character, and all of this after Kana was already introduced).
So for me at least this seals the deal, right now Akane is more popular than Kana in the anime side and this will impact the way people interprets her character from now on wich hopefully means more promo material for her, less biased Mengo, less MISINTERPRETATION of the character (seriously, the comments in the chapter's discussion are a PAIN to read of how bad they interpret Akane -the yandere who enables Aqua's worst sides, etc-).

I am 27 and currently in university for a degree in software engineering (I suck at physics!!!).

If I'm not studying or working, I try to work out or play sports. When the pandemic started,for some reason I challenged myself to reach 100kg, but it was a bad decision for someone that's 5'7! Don't worry though, I am back at a healthy weight. I am hovering around 73kg, but this time my challenge is to reach 65kg! I like playing street/floor hockey(rambled too much about my weight!). I'm a new fan of biking too! Did a 100km run this summer, we can be bike buddies too if you are in montreal!

If I'm not working out, I am either gaming, watch kdramas or animes, or just going out with friends for food.

Favorite food is fried chicken and takoyakis!

I can be a homebody, but also someone that likes to go out! Another activity that I like is traveling so if we vibe,maybe one day we can travel together! I usally try to travel once a year. Had a streak going on, but covid destroyed it! For now, I have visited South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Saudia Arabia, Bangladesh and a few states in USA. Also the UK! Came back a week ago!
