Rayas, were you worried about my well-being? Oh, I was … training. War Hero Fen
Earth, Human **STATS** HP - 7843 +1414 ATK - 3289 +648 DEF - 3162 +600 _ _
SKILL 12s CT - 2300% Earth DMG (PHY). Increase own Arts by 50. 300 BREAK ~~~ Artgen on skill, tremendously useful for self-sustainability. 50 unconditional arts is huge, and helps War Hero Fen cycle his various arts easily when paired with a Primary Artsgen unit such as Hart, Emperor, or Juno.
ARTS 26000% Earth DMG (PHY). For 20s, increase Allies' accuracy and Equipment CT REC by 40%. 1300 BREAK ~~~ It cannot be stated how useful EQCT buffs are, enabling full uptime on certain defense equips and helping artgen equips reset faster. Furthermore, it is also accompanied by a 40% accuracy buff, which is somewhat useful as several bosses have evasion.
TRUE ARTS 60000% Earth DMG (PHY). Increase own Super Critical Rate by 20% during this Super Arts. For 20s, increase Allies' Arts by 4/s and Critical Rate by 100%. 1800 BREAK This unit's Arts Gen is Type A and will not stack with other Type A Arts Gen. ~~~ Teamwide crit along with unconditional artgen that stacks with most other units, something that is fairly rare so far, allowing players to slot in DPS units that previously lacked Crit Rate. And a decent TA multiplier as well. 20% super critical rate is a nice added touch, it cannot be too relied upon because of its aleatory nature but it helps buff War Hero Fen’s TA damage output.
SUPER ARTS 160000% Earth DMG (PHY). Increase own Super Critical Rate by 40% and Critical Rate by 100% during this Super True Arts. For 40s, increase own ATK by 100%. 2600 BREAK ~~~ Ridiculously high DPS coupled with a 40% supercritical rate and a long-lasting ATK buff. Outdamages virtually anything else in the game unless the boss has critical resistance, in which case it still deals appreciable damage simply due to how high the multiplier is.
*Super Crits deal 3x damage compared to Crit’s 1.25x. _ _
ABILITIES
- When self is Leader, at the start of a Quest, increase Allies' DMG RES by 30% for 45s. Does not stack with Abilities of the same name. ~~~
30% free DMG RES that is available from the start of the quest with no other effort needed that having War Hero Fen as leader. Most quests will not last the 45s duration with him on board, and for those that do, it gives ample time to set up proper defenses. Note that if cresting other units with him on the team, he will not be able to be leader. At the start of a Quest, increase Allies' Arts by 50. Does not stack with Abilities of the same name. ~~~
Helps kickstart team arts, whether in a sustain or nuke scenario. Note that this passive does not stack with Dark Fen’s, but does stack with Forte/Draken/NY Milim’s. Increase Allies' DMG to Enemies with 50% or less HP by 30%. Does not stack with Abilities of the same name. ~~~
Helps everyone finish off enemies faster, especially at low hp when they tend to be most dangerous. _ _

SLOTS
Newer players are considered to be those who joined during Chapter 20 release and onwards. 6☆ <:lbphys:650796348194422823>
Newer Players
Relic “Radeus” ["Glowing Dragon" (Fosradius) Giant Boss Farmable]
True “IZANAGI” [Sakura Mira True Weapon]
Natsu’s Scarf [Fairy Tail Collab Farmable]

Rem’s Morningstar [Re-Zero Collab Farmable]
Izumi no Kami Kanesada [Golden Kamuy Collab Equip Banner]
~~~
Airi’s True Weapon enables ridiculous bursts of damage while offering a passive 20% Phy DMG buff, and consequently is great for both nuking and sustain. Otherwise, using an artgen equip to bring War Hero Fen to 300 arts faster also works. Note that there are few 6-star physical equips that are worth at the moment so there is no rush to unlock the 6-star slot. 5☆ <:lbsupp:650797466354057228>
Newer Players
True “Euthanasia” [WarHero Fen True Weapon]
Fill this slot with the best artgen equip at your disposal, or Geshpenst Type-0/Axis for nuking. 4☆ <:lbsupp:650797466354057228>
Blood Crest ”Arc Ignite” [Knights of Blood pt.1 (Berwick) Side Story Farmable]
Groitz Groovy Shorts [Summer 2022 Equipment Banners]
Holy Necklace “Dignified Silence” [Palamicia Mines Farmable]
~~~
Bring artgen, preferably teamwide. Dignified Silence can work for nukes. 4☆ <:lbdef:650797237286338589>
Optimal
Boss-dependent ~~~
It is not recommended for new players to LB7 War Hero Fen. For veterans who opt to do so, bring a defense equip in accordance to the boss’ element or damage type. _ _
True Weapon - True “Euthanasia”
5☆ <:lbsupp:650797466354057228> SKILL 30s CT - Increase Allies' Arts by 25. For 15s, increase Human Allies' DMG by 40%. ~~~ Decent instant artgen with a good arts/s rate coupled with a DMG buff for humans. It is a nice option as a permanently available teamwide artgen equip, but ultimately it is replaceable by any other teamwide artgen equip.
ABILITIES When equipped by War Hero Fen, increase own Skill CT REC and Arts DMG by 20%. ~~~ Mild damage buff passive, along with a skill CT buff which will help a bit with artgen from skill.
Increase DMG to Human enemies by 10%. ~~~
A small DMG buff against Human enemies. _ _
Overall Impressions
Arguably the best unit in the game alongside Emperor Isliid, War Hero Fen does virtually everything except healing. While his arts/s output is not as high as some other units, he has a rare artsgen type (type A) that enables him to stack arts with most units, and he will outright have every unit start with 50 arts. He offers accuracy, EQCT and crit buffs, some teamwide DMG RES when leader, and he can also deal ridiculously high damage on top. War Hero Fen is thus an extremely versatile and self-sufficient unit who can fit well on virtually any team. Being able to use three different arts also makes him a much less linear unit than some of the older awakened units who too often spam the same arts over and over again. War Hero Fen breaks this trend, and proper arts cycling will prove invaluable to extract his full potential. Note that while the defense slot is a nice addition, the scarcity of Expert Limit Break Stones makes it so that other future units may be preferable to limit break beyond the standard LB5.

30s CT - For 10s, Increase allies' DMG RES by 20%. If the user is Earth; Additionally, for 10s, increase all allies' Poison RES by 100%. - HP Recovery Amount 5% Up ~~~ Great defense equip with the same amount of DMG Res as Siegel, with slightly better uptime and cooldown. The conditional poison Res is also a nice addition though not as commonly needed. Worse than Siegel on taunt tanks for physical DMG dealing bosses due to Siegel's passive though.
Farm 1-2 to MLB at least.
Majestic Advent - Should You Pull?
Units
Yes, everybody should do the guaranteed multi. Equips
There are a quite a few strong equipment on this banner, with War Hero Fen and Sanstone's TWs being two amazing option. While not quite as good, Groitz's physical equip and the two other Fens TWs are also decent equips to pick up. Do your guaranteed if you have a surplus of crystals
Whales
If you need to look here, then you're not a whale.
Alchemy Stones
War Hero Fen is debatably the best unit in the game, this is the best place to dump the alch that you've been saving for months now. It is advised to use your alch before going for pity as alch is more expendable than crystals. If you don't pull War Hero Fen from the guaranteed multi/want to possibly save your pity for the future, throw your alch.

2023.05.30 05:58 CalcagnoMaps What do you think? Merging Hagstrom routes/station labels with the 1979 base map?
| A couple of nights ago, I was fooling around with a 1979 subway map that I drew from the ground up to challenge myself to replicate it. I decided to try to merge some design features of the 1940s Hagstrom subway map using 1979 subway map routings. I thought about doing the whole map but before I go any further than what I already made (Bronx and northern Manhattan (145 St and north). -Made street lines thinner to maximize station label displays. -Changing station labels from Helvetica to News Gothic Std (both CAPS and regular as you will see Bronx is all CAPS and northern Manhattan regular) I kinda like all CAPS (as it was shown on Hagstrom's map) and - Colorize route stops with Raleway Black Italic font (Bold is full-time. Light is part-time) -Changing neighborhood/park name font to Neuton Italic. -Bullets have a thin black circle -Waterways and parks closely match Hagstrom's. Park has small sprinkled black borders, not sure if I would use it for now. Ignore Woodlawn Cemetery's background as I'm trying to find something to show other than regular parks. I'm open to any design suggestions, thanks! Proposed Map Design Merging 1940s Hagstrom Subway Map with 1979 Subway Map submitted by CalcagnoMaps to TransitDiagrams [link] [comments] |

IMPORTANT NOTES
- Introducing your NEW World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins! He enters through the crowd, and is showered in streamers in the ring. He welcomes everyone to Monday Night Rollins. He recounts that it's been a long road to get here but he wants to focus on the future. Raw now has a champion that wants to be here and is ready for a fight. He wants everyone to step to him but the end will always be the same, him standing in the ring with his title and the world singing his song. AJ Styles' music interrupts and Uncle Allen joins Seth in the ring. After a brief staredown, AJ says he couldn't resist coming to Monday Night Raw to say congratulations. That it's almost like Seth knew what he was going to do before he did it. The crowd says he deserves it, but AJ doesn't think Seth deserves anything. He earned the right to be champion. Seth says that after the beating he took at Night of Champions, he earned this - and reached out for a handshake.
- Their handshake is interrupted by The Judgment Day. Finn Balor says whatever this is makes him want to puke. Damian Priest says they should turn this into something positive. Rhea reminds everyone that they run Monday Night Raw. Priest adds that after The Bloodline imploded on Saturday, they run the whole WWE. Finn also notes that they beat the tag team champions, something Roman couldn't do. Rhea puts Seth on notice that one of them will be coming for the World Heavyweight Championship. It could be any of them, including Dom! As AJ Styles laughs, Dom reminds AJ that he beat him. And after watching them beat each other, they're going to finish the job. AJ says that sounds like a challenge, and Seth accepts.
- Adam Pearce backstage is on the phone, trying to make the Rollins/Styles vs. Judgment Day match happen despite it messing with the brand split. AJ & Seth were also backstage and push Adam to make it happen. He makes it official.
- Trish Stratus speaks to the audience, sporting an absolutely nasty bruise on her jaw. She heard "thank you Trish," and wants everyone to know she doesn't care what they think. She said she was going to beat Becky Lynch, and she did. This is what you do when you're number one. Now Becky can crawl back into her dark hole and give real superstars a chance, like the one who had her back at Night of Champions. Someone who reminds her of herself, full of ruthless aggression. She then introduces Zoey Stark.
- Zoey says she came to the WWE to make a statement, and who better to learn from than the OG herself? She could've taken the long difficult road, or be smart. She thanks Trish. Then Zoey asks about the bruise and Stratus says yes, Becky Lynch did that, and you don't mess with her beautiful face. Becky Lynch's music hits and she asks, why don't we re-start that match and finish it here? Zoey Stark charges down the ramp and Becky takes her out. She then enters the ring and starts pummeling Trish, but Zoey is recovered and it's a 2-on-1 beatdown on Becky. Zoey takes off her "thank you Trish" trish shirt, and they lay it on a beaten Becky.
- Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn join the ring after their successful title defense at Night of Champions. Not only that, but Sami says, they won. They got to watch the Bloodline crumble, and Roman deserves everything he got. He may hold the championship for another 1000 days or headline the next 5 Wrestlemanias, but he'll always know that KO & Sami won. Imperium interrupts, Ludwig Kaiser praising their victory. But it wasn't more impressive than Gunther extending his Intercontinental championship reign. Kevin asks, why are they here? What is this, the wild west? Nobody called them out! They broke the rules! Sami tells Kevin to calm down, but Sami does ask them, why are they here? The last time they stepped to them, along with Matt Riddle, they were embarrassed. Kaiser says them holding their championships is an embarrassment, they're not worthy of representing Raw. Kevin says, hang on, we never hear from the bald one. Sami says yes, we want to hear from Baldie. As Kaiser starts berating them for their disrespect, everyone is interrupted by a 10 second long SHOOOOOOOOOSH. It's time for the Alpha Academy to hand out their lesson to Imperium. Kevin asks Chad if he's going to say the thing, and Chad responds with an ahhhTHANKYOU.
- Cathy Kelley speaks backstage with Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi. Before they can answer any questions they're interrupted by Bayley & IYO SKY who will dedicate their match tonight to Dakota Kai. Raquel reminds her that she & Shotzi beat them on Smackdown. And also reminds Bayley that she's the only one of Damage CTRL who hasn't worn gold.
- Cody Rhodes is in the ring and asks Albany what they want to talk about. He acknowledges his loss to Brock Lesnar, he didn't tap out because that's not the man he wants to be. He knows there may not be another opportunity so to quote someone, "never give up." Cody has a question for the camera, since Brock isn't here -- Brock, are you satisfied with this being done? Cody issues an open challenge to Brock, saying he'll hand him his schedule so he can find him anytime, anywhere. He lists off Brock's accomplishments, then notes, if he doesn't accept this challenge, they'll need to add to the list "afraid of Cody Rhodes."
- Cathy Kelly interviews Matt Riddle backstage. He carries on about what it would be like to win the Money in the Bank, and is interrupted by Gunther. Gunther wants Matt to win the briefcase and challenge him, because beating Matt is fun to him.
- Talking to Ronda & Shayna after their win. Limb by limb they went through everyone. Not because they wanted it, but because they're the baddest team on the planet, and deez nuts prove it.
- Byron Saxton speaks with the Judgment Day backstage. How about Rhea's victory over Natalya? Rhea says nah, I destroyed Natalya. Byron asks which two are going to be in the match tonight? Finn starts to get feisty before Damian tells Byron to go do his job somewhere else.
- Next week's MITB qualifying matches: Becky Lynch vs. Sonya Deville, and Natalya vs. Zoey Stark!

2023.05.30 03:33 littlemissperfectt [26/F] Looking to chat
I’ve been busy lately but got a frre time now and just bored, trying to find a connection with someone. Someone to talk to about my day, about life, about interests. Someone I can trust won’t judge me if I’m having a bad day or if things are getting stressful, and vice versa.
I'm from Bronx, NY btw if ur curious. I’m looking to get to know someone around the states, trying to know new people then maybe something after that. I don’t want to start off hot and heavy, I want a slow burn. Someone to make me smile and I can do the same. People have told me I’m hysterical. Self-deprecating humor is the best!
Anyway, I’m 26 years old, Just moved here in Tampa so I’m a night owl. Got a part time job that keeps me busy but mostly free every night.
I’m genuinely a good and outgoing person, I like to interact and meet new people. Small talk is my weakness so I might ask a lot of questions lol.
Thank you for coming to my terrible rant , have a great night everyone!

2023.05.30 03:19 brokoli95 Update: First Overnight Trip - Solo - NYC
I posted on this subreddit on late April/early May, to ask if anyone did a bikepacking trip to Harriman State Park before. Wanted to do another post after trip to share my findings for whomever wants to plan a similar trip.
I did the trip on May 12-13th. Actually wanted to post before but life was busy couldn't share the details before. Thanks for all the comments on my previous post, the comments made me realize that there are certain things that you just try & learn. I'll also def check the 718 Cyclery in the future for group trips.
The purpose of this trip was to explore my limits and the route to Big Hill Shelter, see it for myself that how bike accessible it actually is. I didn't want to use a full PTO from work, instead I asked to leave by 2pm. However, next time I'm definitely going to take the full day off to hit the road early. For the route, I decided to trust Google. From my start point I set course for Big Hill Shelter, adding The 9W Market as a stop. After midtown, I passed through Central Park then all the way to Upper Manhattan to George Washington bridge. Right when I entered Jersey, I immediately started cycling on the 9W all the way up to the market with no stops. After I had some food at my pitstop, I kept following Google Maps, now routes next to Hudson river that made me pass through some really cute townships until the Nyack Beach State Park. The road at the State Park was a bit rocky but also really leisurely sometimes right next to the river, sometimes in between trees under a nice shade. The journey was really bike friendly until the turn to Camp Winaki Rd from Call Hollow Rd.
My maps was telling me that Camp Winaki Rd is a wood road, so I assumed it was just going to be like riding on a path similar to the Nyack Beach State Park. I was able to ride my bike until a Park building next to what Google calls First Reservoir. At that point it started to get dark and Google started to be unreliable. I opened up the official Harriman Park map and figured out that I had to walk with my bike until the Long Path & Camp Winaki road intersection. Also need to mention that, because I spent a little time figuring out my direction, I was left in complete dark before getting to my destination. With the help of my flashlight, I continued to roll my bike on foot, and about 1.5 miles later (in about 45-60 minutes) I managed to find the shelter. The weather was 70 degrees and I was alone until 11:30pm. Was an amazing, peaceful night. Around 11:30pm, randomly, a group of boy scouts came to the shelter as well. We shared the area and talked for a bit.
My takeaways for next time is really a brief list: Leave early so no need to go through the excitement of trying to navigate in absolute dark and instead of Big Hill Shelter, putting Long Path Hiker's Parking to my maps and then following the Long Path for 30-45 minutes on foot from the other direction still heading towards the shelter. Also need to bring a water filter or carry more water depending the length of the trip. Leaving details and an equipment list below. Hopefully this will help others who want to do a similar trip!

2023.05.30 00:15 OofImAtALoss I HAD to get this framed for my main display! (Belly up Limited Poster)
| So my BF and I have been together for almost 6 years now and have never taken a trip together, that wasn't work related. He knows how much I adore "Orvie" and surprised me with tickets on Christmas. We flew from upstate NY to Denver(Purina) where I showed him around from when I had lived there like 7 years ago. We had a great time, got duper fuckin high, as per usual and waited for the concert. So we got ready to head out for the concert and my phone, the POS that it is, decided to give me the fuel efficient route up the mountain and we drove for like 7 hours on back country roads WITH ACTIVE FUCKING LANDSLIDES NEARBY, in some dog shit rental from Hertz. We got to the concert with like 5 min to spare and it was everything. Orvie's performance was purely magical and so intimate. It was my bf's first concert ever and my most cherished memory and it gives me endless joy that the soundtrack to such a wonderful memory was Orville Peck live. I'm so excited to see him again at the next 2 concerts we have planned! submitted by OofImAtALoss to OrvillePeck [link] [comments] |
2023.05.29 23:30 Hot_Dirt9114 Are there any fish in the sea left? Does love even exist anymore?
Been 'putting myself out there' for almost a year now and these are my high level observations of the NY market of guys in general.
Group 1: Married, open, or emotionally unavailable for whatever reason (e.g. just broke up with their ex). They are strictly looking for sex, only this, so won't integrate you into their friend circle or life in any other way outside of the bedroom even if they like you (if it even get's there; the sex must be convenient for them). I would say that these guys are generally more reactive/wholesome and will actually have a decent conversation with you at least. They will never leave eachother, regardless of whether they still like eachother, because of the "perceived loss".
Group 2: Single but something is "wrong" e.g. they are just too far away to even be able to hang out in person weekly, projecting / crazy, not ready for anything more than sex even if they claim they are, no time to actually hang out / integrate you in any way, have life plans for the next 1 year (holiday's etc) etc. Honestly, the sex is 'meh' at best with these guys in general as they seem so "sterile/robotic" in general.
Group 3: Online time wasters e.g. Tinder guys, who will speak briefly to you, add and then stalk you on Insta, but make little to no initiative to actually meet you.
Group 4: Transactional contract singles. Has a conversation with you, actually meets up with you, but it fizzles because you are not wanting a 'contract / arrangement' e.g. they are wanting someone to split rent with, someone to take insta pics with rather than an actual emotional connection.
This is all regardless of venue: bars, clubs, parties, social groups, online apps, anywhere its the same drama. This is also not just "hot guys" (i.e. 7+/10) but even guys who are 3-4/10 have the same or even sometimes more attitude.
I've spoken to a large number of couples (open, married, otherwise) and the large majority seem to be looking for something else, but are just too scared to take the steps to do anything, so operate in this "middle road" path where they get a "buffet" of things from different people and others are screwed over the process. A lot of couples I've seen (and they have even shared this with me) are borderline abusive and quite frankly not even a couple to one another, but its all branding and titles here. Singles do exactly the same thing, holding many threads, not committing anywhere though.
This leads me to believe regardless of how much I "self improve" or "work on myself" there is literally no one for me and wonder if I should just hookup and give up on even trying for anything more. I can offer best sexual experience (several message after saying it was hot and we should meet again but rarely do), emotional connection (several will share things in person and open up etc but will not pursue anything more), anything really, but it won't be enough if there isn't a guy also reciprocating at the same level. With the number of options available, poor attention span particularly of the new generation and pressure of social media (no one will break a 'social media' relationship because of fear) it's just getting worse. I'm starting to see why guys here are "jaded" but a lot of the times it is self-inflicted and the opposite of what therapy teaches us (be okay on your own etc).
At this point, I am tempted to just ask one of the married/open guys if we can just be fake BF's for a few months, just to get something more than what is out there. Thoughts?

2023.05.29 23:13 Evening_Song3433 Mason Verdana apartments- Is that area safe?
I'm thinking of moving to Port Saint Lucie from NY this summer. I was originally looking at cities more north, but this one apartment complex caught my eye so much. I started looking more into Port Saint Lucie and I just get such a good energy from it.
Are there any parts that are unsafe (for reference, I come from the Bronx, so probably all of it is safer than where I'm from lol). Safety is big deal to me, since it's a main driver for me leaving NY. I like a quiet, simple living. Is it a good place for people in their late 20's/early 30's? Is it hard to make girl friends?
Thank you!

2023.05.29 20:23 Able_Chipmunk5957 is this ok?
Before I star to tell my story I want to apologise for any misspel or any gramatical mistakes, english is not my native language.
I live in the western part of Romania, in a mountan area where bad wather is common. Today as I was hanging out with some friends it started to rain, first a few drops then a havy rain. We went to my house since it was the nearest shelter we had and stayed there until the rain stopped.
After we left we bagan to walk towards the fields of the vilage and I saw a plastic bag in the wet grass and it was making wierd noises. We ignored it and went on with our walk. Some time passes and the rain start to pour again and me and my friends decided to split paths and go home. As I run in the rain towards my house I saw again that plastic bag and this time I went to check it. There were 2 little dogs in that plastic bag, wet, hungry and gos knows what else. At this time the rain was pouring hard and I just grabbed the 2 dogs and began to run home.
When I reached my house I quickly grab an old box and stuffed it with blankets and big sponges. I put the 2 doggos in the box and went to warm up some milk for them to eat because they were little but as I watched them eat I just start to cry, for no reason, histericaly cry. I guess I didn't realise then what kind of animali would put 2 little inocent souls in a market plastic bag and throw them at the side of the road.
Now I sit next to them still crying as I am writing this and wait for my parents to get home. This things happen all around the world and just ny thinking about it makes me cry and I feel wierd, I am a guy, I am not used to be so emotional. I hope I will manage to find them good owners. They deserve good owners.

2023.05.29 19:55 Thislikemy5thone Was NYC Blood movement bigger than Cali’s⁉️
This post is not for glorification of the gang culture, but no matter how many people say otherwise or try to deny history, NYC has always been a gangland… even before Cali. Probably not on the same caliber, but its always been present.
No doubt Cali started it… but Ny doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Even tho some may argue its “fake blood”, Ny blood movement went all across the east coast and the south. And it might be “fake” to Cali ppl, but not to the guys that risked their lives in shootouts and took RICO charges for they gang 🤷🏾♂️💯
Obviously the movement impacted surrounding states like New Jersey, but they also banging Ny gangs hard down south especially in Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia (Atl), Florida, etc which is why Blood is more dominant on the East coast than it is on the West. All that Slatt/Slime shit just lango to represent a Bronx based-gang (SexMoneyMurder) that got members such as Young thug, 21 savage, yb, Kay flock, Glokknine, etc

2023.05.29 17:05 sauna_apartment Carless: Escarpment Trail, the Catskills NY
I've been meaning to do this for awhile as I've found the info regarding backpacking without a car in the NYC area lacking, half-baked, or in practice, untrue. The thread in the sidebar is excellent, but AT focused. I'll see a post that say take this bus service to a certain town and taxi to the trailhead, but what it may not say is that there is no service to call a taxi on arrival or that line only runs on weekdays that direction. Not to say I won't be repeating common knowledge as I definitely will, but hopefully you'll find something in my logistics useful for planning your own ventures sans car.
A little bit about me: I am a lightweight backpacker (slowly working on dropping my last few ounces) living in Queens, NY. I generally love the public (and private) transit in NYC metro area, although it always could be improved and there are aspects that are deeply frustrating, large and small. In addition to not having a car, I also work a 9-5 job; this and future trail reports will reflect that I often only have a weekend to enact my plans.
The Escarpment Trail - AllTrails
- Direction: SoBo
- Miles in total: ~26
- Nights: 1
Buy a ticket on the Trailways bus line from Port Authority to Windham, NY. On Saturdays, there is a bus that departs at 8am. That is the one you want. The Trailways' stations are in the bottom of Port Authority, terminals 28-34. Double check your bus is correct with the attendant as the what is on the directory and what terminal they're actually leaving from may be at odds. When boarding, tell the driver that you want the
Escarpment Trailhead Parking lot, which is slightly before Windham; in between Windham, East Windham, and Hensonville; after Cairo; on route 23. If you pass Smitty's Nursery & Landscape on the left you've gone too far. I didn't know you could ask the driver to drop you off at a non-designated stop, but he said it was okay as long as its on route. I'm assuming this is a driver by driver thing, but as long as you're not an ass about it, I bet they'll say yes. However, I did not know this perk until a woman request to be let off before Windham, and I got off with her and proceeded to backtrack to the trailhead on route 23. If you have to walk the shoulder, maybe you can hitch a ride, but you'd be luckier than me.
Make sure you have water. At the trailhead there is a stream. There is no water after that until 0.4 miles past Dutcher Notch, which is ~12 miles away.
Starting from the first sign off 23, the trail is very well marked (until North South Campground), simply follow the blue markers. A commenter on Alltrails writes:
If you can get Wyndham and BlackHead out of the way on the first day the second day is pretty smooth after the initial climb out of the notch. Amazing view after amazing view.
Views translate to ascents. Climbing Blackhead was confirmed steep and arduous after already hiking 9 miles. But this is the hardest climb during the trip, so once summited, it's all smooth sailing. Day 1 clocked about 11 miles (excluding walk to the trailhead).
I camped somewhere on the backside of Arizona Mountain overlooking the valley. It was gorgeous, but unexpectedly buggy for no water nearby and a slight breeze. If you're hiking this in two days one night as I was, you need to get to around the Notch. In the notch, there is an intersection between the Escarpment trail (straight), the Colgate Lake Trail (right), and the Dutcher Notch Trail (left). A short ways down the Dutcher Notch Trail there is a spring (a pipe in the rock) where you can filter water. This is the last place to filter water before North Lake.
Not much to report for the first half of the day; the Catskills are beautiful. There is a very cool plane wreckage. The Escarpment trail gives views to the NorthEast, and often times you can see the Green Mountains, the Whites, and the Berkshires, depending on the clarity. Eventually you'll reach North Point on North Mountain. Here, you'll start to encounter day hikers staying at NorthSouth Campground. I was fairly alone for most of the path; some families at the start, a few day hikers going to Windham High Peak, but very few backpackers. Which imo is preferable; I like the solitude. The frequency of day hikers increased the closer you get to the campground, but most of them were heading out as I was heading in, and only one had a bluetooth speaker.
Reaching North Lake, you are a jungle person breaching civilization. People are grilling and getting stuff out of their SUVs, while you smell and swim in your skivvies. Or at least, that's what I did. After a nice dip, find the blue markers at the back of the campground. There is no more markings for the Escarpment Trail although you're still on it. The signs will say to Catskill Mountain House Site and to Boulder Rock. Stay on the blue markers.
Eventually you'll come to Kaaterskill Falls. I only went to the lookout not the base, as I was unsure how much more walking I'd have to do and I was anxious about the time (around 2pm, the bus back was 5:55pm.) Also Kaaterskill Falls was overrun by tourists, which are different than day hikers. I can't complain as Kaaterskill Falls has been a tourist attraction since the mid 1800s, but after two days in the peaceful woods, I wasn't keen about been around all the activity.
Instead of finishing the Escarpment Trail at Schutt Rd. Parking Lot, take the
Kaaterskill Rail Trail to the Haines Falls Train Station. Its about a 1.5 miles of pathway that brings you back to route 23A. At 23A, take a right and walk along the shoulder for about 2 miles into the town of Tannersville, NY. On 23A, stop at the Twilight General Store for an optional ice cream, however the key stop is
Bear & Fox Provisions in Tannersville. Great selection of beer and cider, one of which the proprietor brews from apple trees from the side of the road.
Catch the 5:55pm Trailways bus from outside the pharmacy (
5980 Main St.), which after a brief stop in Kingston, returns to Port Authority. I would recommend buying both ticket ahead of time as I had varying degrees of mediocre service the whole trip. Day 2 clocked about ~14 miles (including walking to Tannersville)
The Escarpment is great trail for an experienced hiker. Like other Catskill hikes, it's as beautiful as it is difficult. It's very possible to do it in a weekend, but a slower paced individual or group may want to do it in three days, two nights which may affect bus times and accessibility. Enjoy a carless excursion and remember to bring an eye mask and ear plugs for the bus ride.

2023.05.29 16:11 MrUntouchableNYC What do you hope to see in future games in The Division franchise?
Just wishful thinking here but what if your agent and all your stats and achievements from the first game carried over to the second game. We spend so much time building up our agents, they should be interchangeable from game to game and maybe even be used to form a small team similar to “Ghost Recon” for only a few missions from time to time when playing solo. For example, lets say the NY agents are helping the DC agents on a mission. Your agent from the first game should be playable or at least visible in some way and vice versa.
There should definitely be more continuity from games for the items that require premium credits, they should carry over from game to game in the stash or inventory so players can receive more value from their purchases over the long term. Even items received as rewards should carry over considering the amount of hours players have to pour into these games.
I want to be able to access the full open worlds from all previous games in the franchise and all the DLCs lol in a single game. I know that would never happen but still there is so many great features from both games, a guy just wishes he could have it all.
I like how The Division uses weather conditions, imagine if natural disasters where thrown in the mix, earthquakes, wildfires, floods etc.
Vehicles for in game travel, simple things like motorcycles, bikes, scooters lmao. Just something to help cut down on some of the sprinting from time to time. Most of the roads are closed anyway but for those long stretches of land it would be helpful.
A beefed up JTF that can actually aim and shoot effectively and be called in for brief periods of back up beyond control points. Also as an agent, our character should have a variety of combat moves.
More citizens in the streets and the ability to use a canine unit from time to time. That’s all I can think of for now lol. What would you like to see from The Division in the future?

So you've decided you want to quit Kratom. Withdrawal Symptoms
You may experience a number of withdrawal symptoms, both physical and psychological. Keep in mind that all humans are affected differently and experiences with symptoms will differ among us.
Physical Withdrawal Symptoms
The most common physical withdrawal symptoms experienced are outlined below.
Restless Leg Syndrome
Also known as RLS, this is the most common symptom of withdrawal. It can be described as an irresistible urge to move one's body to stop uncomfortable or odd sensations. It most commonly affects the legs, but can also affect the arms, torso, and head. Moving the affected body part modulates the sensations, providing temporary relief. On average, this symptom will be almost entirely gone by day 7.
Insomnia
As you would expect with RLS, insomnia is another commonly experienced withdrawal symptom. Lack of sleep usually occurs due to RLS, but it can continue even without RLS present.
Uncontrollable Body Temperature
This withdrawal symptom can be common, yet not as common as the two above. This symptom causes the body to experience drastic changes in temperature within a short period of time. This probably sounds much worse than it really is, but during the day it is fine. At night it involves being cold, putting the covers over you, then being really warm and throwing all the covers off.
Other symptoms
In addition to the above, you may experience a runny nose, teary eyes, sneezing, diarrhea, and an aching body. These are generally not a major problem. For diarrhea, loperamide can help (see below). For aches and pains, OTC pain relievers such as Advil can be useful.
Psychological Withdrawal Symptoms
Commonly referred to as PAWS (Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms). Usually the psychological withdrawals tend to kick in after the physical withdrawals have passed. Described below are the most common psychological withdrawals that are experienced.
Lethargy
The lack of energy and enthusiasm is the most common psychological withdrawal experienced. This symptom can be minor for some, but it is quite commonly major. Although ironic, a good remedy for this lethargic feeling is exercise. It may be hard to get exercising initially due to the lethargy, but many people experience a huge improvement in their mood afterwards.
Cravings
Cravings are quite commonly experienced by addicts withdrawing from Kratom. Major cravings can cause addicts to relapse if the impulse is acted upon. Usually cravings don't last too long, and they seem to come in waves. Psychologically, cravings can play with your mind. You may find yourself thinking things like "I'll just take it this once, I've already made the decision to quit so I won't do it again".
Depression
Depression can play a big part in relapse when it comes to recovery from Kratom addiction. Although some users have existing mood disorders or depression, the PAWS during Kratom withdrawal hugely amplify these feelings/mindsets. Expect to experience some mild to moderate depressed feelings during PAWS and prepare your mind to acknowledge that these feelings are caused by the Kratom withdrawal. You WILL feel better. Once again exercise is a HUGE help to mitigate the depression experienced during withdrawal. It has been proven that
regular exercise is as effective than the most common anti-depressants.
Taper vs. Cold Turkey
While one method may work for some, it may not work for another. We are all different and unique in many ways, including the way our body reacts to (lack of) substances.
Tapering
Tapering has been tried many times by different people. Some found tapering helpful, others did not. The main advantages of tapering are:
- Little to no physical withdrawals symptoms.
- Not as big of a shock on the body.
- Doesn't affect your day-to-day life as drastically as cold turkey (if you can't take time off work or don't have a weekend free).
Disadvantages of tapering off Kratom are:
- Requires a lot of self control and discipline.
- Easy to make an impulse decision to take more than your schedule planned.
- Although it may not impact your day-to-day life as drastically as cold turkey, the impact will be longer and more drawn out.
Note: Another effective method used is to
taper with stem and vein kratom.
Cold Turkey
The cold turkey method seems to be the more preferable method as well as the most successful. The main advantages are:
- Getting it over and done with, no drawn out symptoms.
- Improvement is felt much sooner since the withdrawals are not drawn out.
- Day-to-day life is not affected for as long as it would be tapering.
Disadvantages of going cold turkey are:
- Physical withdrawal symptoms that are taxing on the body.
- The withdrawals are much worse over a short period of time compared to tapering.
Managing Your Withdrawals
There are a few tried and tested methods to dealing with various withdrawals symptoms. They are described below.
Exercise
The most effective way to make yourself feel better. It has been proven that
regular exercise is as effective than the most common anti-depressants. The effects are very profound, and can remain present for hours. Exercise releases a flood of endorphins, directly stimulating your opioid receptors the same way Kratom does, reducing both physical and psychological withdrawal symptoms. Regular exercise will hasten the recovery process by bringing your body's endorphin system back online. It can be difficult to get started, but if you force yourself, you should find that it gets easier after only a few minutes as your heart starts pumping and the endorphins start flowing. Heavy weightlifting is one of the most efficient methods, in terms of benefits vs. time spent, but prolonged cardiovascular activity (jogging, bicycling, etc.) is also effective. Intense yoga is another option.
Orgasm
When you stop taking Kratom, your sex drive may return with a vengeance. Take advantage of it :). Orgasm, like exercise, causes a release of endorphins.
Meditation
It can be difficult when you are uncomfortable and your mind is racing, but a few minutes of meditation can significantly improve the way you feel. Close your eyes, and let your thoughts flow without trying to control or resist them. Take slow deep breaths, focusing on each inhale and exhale. Try not to think about anything else, but if a thought arises, let it be. Visualize each inhalation as bringing healing energy into your body, and each exhalation as removing negativity. Continue until you feel better, or longer, and repeat the process anytime you feel overwhelmed. Check out
/meditation for great tips on meditation.
Supplements
Loperamide
Warning, kratom and loperamide.. We don't know if loperamide (in the recommended dosage for diarrhea (
https://www.drugs.com/dosage/loperamide.html)) combined with kratom has health risks (in particular heart issues at higher doses), or people could start to abuse it. It had been reported that even the recommended loperamide doses can cause a rebound of withdrawal symptoms after you stop using it . Therfore we don't recommend to use loperamide. Other warnings: At recommended doses, the half-life of loperamide is approximately 10 hours. However, with higher doses, even as little as 16 mg, longer half-lives have been observed (upwards of 41 hours). News videos: "
it's actually potentially even worse than using heroin...",
"Kratom and Loperamide is a dangerous combination".
Supplements
There are a number of drugs and supplements that can improve mood, motivation, and sleep quality. Most of those listed are naturally derived, and many can be easily obtained at such locations as GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, pharmacies, and "natural" grocery stores, as well as online at sites like
AllStarHealth,
Bodybuilding.com, and
Amazon.
- Black seed oil. some qk members reported that they used 3 x 2 teaspoons daily at the beginning.
- L-theanine: Found in green tea, this substance has a calming effect and improves cognition. Useful both during the day and to help with sleep.
- Ashwagandha: The "Indian ginseng," Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that improves overall well-being. Like L-theanine, can be used both day and night. "In anxiety and depression, ashwagandha has been demonstrated to be as effective as some tranquilizers and antidepressant drugs. Specifically, oral administration of ashwagandha for five days suggested anxiety-relieving effects similar to those achieved by the anti-anxiety drug lorazepam (Ativan®), and antidepressant effects similar to those of the prescription antidepressant drug imipramine (Tofranil®)": look here.
- Rhodiola rosea: Another adaptogen, this one has mild stimulating qualities (but without the jitters of caffeine). Best taken during the day. (Warning: Rhodiola has MAOI activity and could potentially interact with other meds/supplements. Be careful, do your research, and start with small amounts.)
- DLPA: A combination of the natural "L" form and the synthetic "D" form of the amino acid phenylalanine, DLPA has been shown to fight depression and reduce pain by boosting dopamine levels and preventing the breakdown of enkephalins (similar to endorphins).
- L-tyrosine: boosts dopamine.
- L-phenylalanine: Try L-tyrosine first. If the results are not satisfactory try L-phenylalanine.
- Valerian root: Sleep aid. Smells terrible but can be rather effective. Common in "sleepy" teas.
- 5-HTP: Precursor to serotonin. Improves mood and sleep. People who are taking antidepressant medications should not take 5-HTP, because in that case common side effects are : *Agitation or restlessness *Confusion *Rapid heart rate and high blood pressure *Dilated pupils *Loss of muscle coordination or twitching muscles *Heavy sweating *Diarrhea *Headache *Shivering *goosebumbs"
- Tryptophan: (propably superior to 5-HTP).
- SAM-e: Is a quick acting antidepressant.
- Chamomile and passion flower: These two herbs, widely available as teas, can help with anxiety and insomnia. At least one ex-Kratom addict has reported that, in does of 2-4 teabags, they can be very effective. WARNING: Passion flower is a MAO inhibitor, don't use it together with kratom.
- Melatonin: The body's sleep hormone, used for regulating the sleep/wake cycle. Tells the body that it's time to sleep. Taking too much (more than a milligram or two) can screw up the body's circadian rhythm and have the opposite of the intended effect. Good in combination with valerian root and 5-HTP. Some feel very groggy after taking melatonin.
- Kava: An herb that reduces anxiety, but can be hit-or-miss when it comes to sleep.
- Chocolate: Contains phenethylamine, which reduces anxiety and improves mood and cognition. Buy a generous amount of dark chocolate with a high cacao concentration, and eat as much of it as you want. The more, the better. Alternatively, phenethylamine is available as a supplement.
- Magnesium: Helps with sleep. Many people believe that Calcium needs to be taking with Magnesium for absorption, but this is not true. Calcium and Magnesium actually compete for the same transport system into the blood so it is better to take them at different times during the day. The only time this competition is eliminated is in the case where calcium and magnesium are bound to a single amino acid and are called calcium and magnesium amino acid chelates, as opposed to calcium carbonate/citrate or magnesium oxide/citrate. Minerals in the amino acid chelate form have double the absorption rate of calcium carbonate and magnesium oxide because they do not have to be altered in order to enter the bloodstream. Source.
- Cannabis: Given its legal status, not everybody is able or willing to obtain it, but cannabis can potentially aid with a wide spectrum of withdrawal symptoms. Indica-dominant strains are recommended for insomnia and anxiety, while Sativas are better suited for improving mood, motivation, and appetite. (However, it should be noted that Sativas can worsen anxiety in some cases.) Medical dispensaries, if you have access, are the best option due to the wide variety of strains available. If you have had problems with other drugs or drug substitution in the past, it is advised not to use Cannabis after quitting Kratom as it may lead to another substitution.
Warning:
It's best to avoid using antihistamines (diphenhydramine, dimenhydrinate, hydroxyzine etc.) such as those found in Benadryl, Dramamine, NyQuil, Unisom, and Tylenol PM. While they can produce drowsiness under normal conditions, they are well known for exacerbating Restless Leg Syndrome, which will make your insomnia worse, not better.
Prescription drugs
In addition, there are various prescription drugs that can be of assistance. The ones listed below are prescription-only. These are not necessarily recommended; do your research before considering them. Be especially careful if you are taking any psychiatric prescriptions, such as SSRIs, MAOIs, or Wellbutrin. The following information is not a substitute for medical advice. Always consult your doctor. [We do not recommend to use this medications together with Kratom].
- Gabapentin: Gabapentin is an epilepsy and nerve pain drug, which is also prescribed for the restless leg syndrome. The drug acts as a sedative. It also helps with sleep and gives you energy. Don't abuse it, gabapentin causes a withdrawal syndrome if you use it for too long (use it maximal 5-6 days). Drug experts say the effects of using gabapentin for long periods of time or in very high quantities, particularly among sensitive populations like pregnant women, are not well-known. Attention:"treatment with gabapentin is associated with a substantial increase in the risk of opioid-related death".
- Clonidine: Due to its lack of abuse potential, doctors will generally not hesitate to prescribe it for a patient undergoing withdrawals. Clonidine can "stop" an opioid withdrawal relatively effectively, which is (simplified) due to the following mode of action: Adrenaline docks onto two receptors when released: α1 and α2. Clonidine docks onto α2-adrenergic receptors and “blocks” them. Also lowering blood pressure, works against the "adrenaline rush". Clonidine has an idiosyncrasy, i.e. the first dose of the active ingredient triggers an effect opposite to the actual effect !. Clonidine doses must be slowly increased, starting at a low dose. It should also be noted that clonidine must not be discontinued immediately; the dose has to be slowly reduced, because otherwise there can be a blood pressure crisis - with an already destabilized blood pressure (due to withdrawal), extreme caution is required here and we strongly recommend that treatment with clonidine is only carried out under medical supervision. Existing depression can be exacerbated or a new depression can be triggered by using clonidine. Existing depression can be exacerbated or a new depression can be triggered by using clonidine.
- Modafinil/adrafinil (Provigil, Nuvigil): [Warning: Do not use Modafinil together with Kratom (it may cause seizures)] A unique, non-euphoric stimulant, used to treat narcolepsy, shift-work disorders, and by Air Force pilots as a replacement for amphetamine. This drug, at levels of 100-200mg per day, can relieve the malaise and lack of motivation associated with withdrawal. Should not be taken within 12 hours of bedtime. While Modafinil is under Schedule IV in the US, Adrafinil, which metabolizes to Modafinil in the liver, is unscheduled and can be easily purchased.
- Selegiline (L-deprenyl): A MAO-B inhibitor used to treat Parkinson's, this drug increases levels of dopamine in the brain and has been shown to increase lifespan in rats. Unlike traditional MAOIs, selegiline does not require dietary restrictions, and is generally considered quite safe at levels of 5-10mg. Do not take near bedtime. Unscheduled in the US. .
Warning:
Be mindful of the possibility of drug substitution. With addiction, drug substitution is a common problem when going through recovery. With all CNS depressant drugs (antidepressants, benzodiazepines, neuroleptics), it should be kept in mind that these drugs sedate in the long term and can trigger a so-called 'hangover', ie. they also lead to additional exhaustion during the day. In some cases, this can be perceived as a burden and can lead to losing sight of the desired goal or lowering the motivation to endure the withdrawal. Whether drug treatment makes the withdrawal easier or more difficult depends on personal factors and cannot be determined in general. Remember that your body can regenerate itself best and fastest if it is not exposed to other stresses.
Stem and Vein Kratom
Although total alkaloid levels are lower than in leaf, there is supposedly relatively more mitragynine present in S&V. The levels of mitraphylline, rhynchophylline (related to mitragynine) and corynantheidine are higher. In kratom communities on the internet it is sometimes reported that S&V can reduce tolerance to kratom, but this seems not to be the case. Anecdotal reports claim that S&V can be useful for mitigating withdrawal symptoms, and accelerating the brain's recovery from kratom addiction. There is a great guide on
using stem and vein kratom to taper off here.
Relapse
Relapse is a normal part of recovery. It has happened to every single one of us. Try not to beat yourself up about it or feel like you are worthless and useless. That doesn't help a thing. It is just a small bump in your road to recovery. All you can do is get back up, dust yourself off and get back to quitting as soon as you are ready. You will know when you are ready.
