background: im a 20 year old FtM, 5’1”, and ive been stuck at 150 pounds basically since I was 13. ive struggled with eating disorders and a poor relationship to food for various reasons (parents poor food choices, autism texture issues, never feeling safe while eating, body image issues, etc) so the idea of weight loss now sounds like… well it sounds fundamentally impossible. like a truly Sisyphean task of ridiculous proportions.
but i really want to change my body shape now, and ive gotten better and changed since, got a new job where im pretty physically active, i can buy whatever food i want, im not stuck inside… but i have no idea how to make food thats good, and nobody bothered to teach me. I’ve tried looking at YouTube cooking channels, but they always have my “ick” foods in like, EVERY recipe. plus, because of my various issues, trying new foods is always really daunting, and i don’t want to waste money and food trying hundreds of things i will just throw out. (id feel so guilty. i mean like people are starving and here i am throwing out food i just made because ew icky?)
how do i find things that i will actually like that arent horrible for my body? what are flavors even called? i know like, five of them. and how do i find more things with similar textures to things I already like so I don’t have to just trial and error the entire grocery store?
im open to suggestions, i really like salty foods, savory stuff, id like to try mushrooms if there’s any way to make them less squishy… most things i like are crunchy or they’re meat. veg is just so gross, but I’ve only ever smelled it steamed, which i hear is the worst way to make them, so maybe im judging them uncharitably. (is there a salty vegetable…?) uhhh yeah. if anyone can help my poor sorry soul i would greatly appreciate it.

"When I'm bought, I want you to do everything in your power to be bought with me." John looked at Kelix. "Do you think you can do that?" The request was odd, and beyond basic empathy, there was no particular reason for the Human to make such a request.
"I will do this." Kelix replied.
The days oozed by, and save for the slop that was automatically force fed into the slaves, nothing marked the hours as they passed. Every time Kelix wanted comfort, John was there, his voice calm.
"Just breathe." He stated. "Just a little longer."
Kelix did not know how much time had passed since his enslavement and severing, all he knew was that a rotund Human was being brought in, escorted by guards and the slavemaster. It occurred to the Gixx, as it tried to understand what the slavers were discussing, that John was speaking his people's tongue.
The Human pointed at John, who simply stood up and left his cell. Kelix leapt up to his feet, desperately pleading, "Take me! Take me as well!"

"A Gixx." John stated. "I have one as a crewmate, they're efficient, clean." He kept his eyes to the floor, didn't look at the man who was buying him. "If he isn't bought soon, he will die. and his skills will go to waste."
The Human smiled, he recognized a slave who had been through servitude before, they only spoke up when they knew something, when they were already broken.
"I will buy the Gixx as well." The Human slaver stated.
Kelix trembled as he was brought out. as he and John were loaded into the ship.

They arrived on a planet, a private terraformed place for the obscenely rich. Kelix saw the hatred in John's eye, and understood the situation better. John had not consigned himself to slavery, he was intending to cause harm.
Kelix worked in silence, waiting for the day John made his move. One morning, John simply got out of bed earlier than the others, and Kelix followed. To the Gixx's shock, John simply removed the collar around his neck, then faced the Gixx. "I'm going to take this off of you, and then you are going to touch my mind." John stated. "Do you trust me?"
Kelix nodded, and the collar came off. Kelix reached forward, and to its utter bliss, it was reunited with the Mindworld. It was surprised as another mind took its place, and it observed from within the body, still terrified of being caught again.
"Are you in, Vos?" John asked.
"Affirmative, this one is here." Vos replied. The Gixx then proceeded to disable the lock and enter the primary security room. All of the slaves were compelled to come, and then, the collars were disabled, removed. Sharp awareness filled the eyes of those who had been subjugated for so long, and the Humans especially grinned as John handed out guns.
The slave revolt was a short and bloody affair, and by the time a ship known simply as the 'Starpiercer' arrived with two others right behind it, Kelix understood that John's actions had been working toward this specific goal.

I’m a Canadian who travels to the US A LOT.
I live in Windsor, so most my life growing up, my family and I would cross the border to go to Detroit to grocery shop, get gas, etc.
I’m also a gaming social media influencer and frequently attend gaming conventions/events in the US, but never for work. Always just to visit as I know people have been denied entry or banned for illegally working in the US.
This year I had been in the US for 4 months combined. The reason for this being because, I took ~ 5 months off work due to a medical problem that affects my life pretty poorly. As soon as my lease ended in Toronto, I moved in with my mom and decided to go to Dallas and hang with my friends (who all live in Dallas). As I was struggling with my autoimmune issue, I thought it’d be best for me to travel for a bit as I had a lot saved up and i’d rather spend my 5 months off work in a better environment (warmer weather, surrounded by friends, etc)
I left in December to Dallas, came back to Canada in January for 3 days because my mom was having surgery.
Went back to Dallas for 3 months and came back to Canada.
After being in Canada for 2 weeks, one of my friends visited me who lives in Dallas. I decided to go back to Dallas for another month with him as I had plans to attend a gaming event in 2 weeks anyways.
My mom drove us over the Windsor-Detroit border where they questioned us. They asked my relation to my friend, why I was traveling with him, if I was employed. I told them I was on a break from employment due to a health condition. I got sent into secondary.
At secondary, I got accused of mooching off my friend to which I said, I always pay for everything myself including my flight which they tried to ask if it was bought by him. I was ready to show proof but they did not let me.
They asked my ties to Canada and I told them I was born in Canada, my entire family lives in Canada and I own a home in Canada which I currently rent out to tenants as I moved in with my mom (literally down the street) when I was having health problems.
They said it was suspicious how I was going back and forth from Canada to US without a job and I told them about my savings and they didn’t seem to care about ANYTHING I said.
I get how me not being employed and traveling looks suspicious, but I have such a long history of traveling between the US and Canada that I never thought I’d have an issue.
After this, he told me I was not going to be allowed into the US, he confiscated my Nexus :( and gave me a checklist to bring back to prove my ties to Canada because he kept INSISTING I was trying to run away into the US and live there illegally. He told me to not try to enter again the next day because if I did, I’d be denied again.
I contacted a lawyer and he said there’s not much I can do except wait to cross for 6 months to a year. This simply is not possible for me because my family and I frequently shop in the US and fly from Detroit airport. Not to mention, all my friends live in the US and I had plans + tickets to attend gaming events.
What do I do from here? Is this going to be on my record forever? Will I forever have a hard time going into the US? Has anyone had a similar experience and how long did you wait until you go back in?

I live in Windsor, so most my life growing up, my family and I would cross the border to go to Detroit to grocery shop, get gas, etc.
I’m also a gaming social media influencer and frequently attend gaming conventions/events in the US, but never for work. Always just to visit as I know people have been denied entry or banned for illegally working in the US.
This year I had been in the US for 4 months combined. The reason for this being because, I took ~ 5 months off work due to a medical problem that affects my life pretty poorly. As soon as my lease ended in Toronto, I moved in with my mom and decided to go to Dallas and hang with my friends (who all live in Dallas). As I was struggling with my autoimmune issue, I thought it’d be best for me to travel for a bit as I had a lot saved up and i’d rather spend my 5 months off work in a better environment (warmer weather, surrounded by friends, etc)
I left in December to Dallas, came back to Canada in January for 3 days because my mom was having surgery.
Went back to Dallas for 3 months and came back to Canada.
After being in Canada for 2 weeks, one of my friends visited me who lives in Dallas. I decided to go back to Dallas for another month with him as I had plans to attend a gaming event in 2 weeks anyways.
My mom drove us over the Windsor-Detroit border where they questioned us. They asked my relation to my friend, why I was traveling with him, if I was employed. I told them I was on a break from employment due to a health condition. I got sent into secondary.
At secondary, I got accused of mooching off my friend to which I said, I always pay for everything myself including my flight which they tried to ask if it was bought by him. I was ready to show proof but they did not let me.
They asked my ties to Canada and I told them I was born in Canada, my entire family lives in Canada and I own a home in Canada which I currently rent out to tenants as I moved in with my mom (literally down the street) when I was having health problems.
They said it was suspicious how I was going back and forth from Canada to US without a job and I told them about my savings and they didn’t seem to care about ANYTHING I said.
I get how me not being employed and traveling looks suspicious, but I have such a long history of traveling between the US and Canada that I never thought I’d have an issue.
After this, he told me I was not going to be allowed into the US, he confiscated my Nexus :( and gave me a checklist to bring back to prove my ties to Canada because he kept INSISTING I was trying to run away into the US and live there illegally. He told me to not try to enter again the next day because if I did, I’d be denied again.
I contacted a lawyer and he said there’s not much I can do except wait to cross for 6 months to a year. This simply is not possible for me because my family and I frequently shop in the US and fly from Detroit airport. Not to mention, all my friends live in the US and I had plans + tickets to attend gaming events.
What do I do from here? Is this going to be on my record forever? Will I forever have a hard time going into the US? Has anyone had a similar experience and how long did you wait until you go back in?

that dose less and can get away with doing less while I can run circles around clerks and most assistance it’s honestly kind of annoying think about that no matter how good I am my pay is still just based on how long I’ve been here I can’t get a pay increase unless I get promoted again or go on er and don’t get me started on er and what have ass job some of them do and it’s hard because I’m not the kind of person that does a half ass job I will always go above and beyond and leave the store better than I found it but this is just a rant and while QT says we are quote on quote back to being fully staffed we are just hiring warm bodies

2023.06.03 00:43 RatPumpkin Was Told I Should Apply to Med But I Have A CO-OP/ Internship That Messes with my GPA?
I have been preparing to apply for a different field for several years, this year will be my 2nd year applying. The acceptance rate is lower than med school (in my province at least), and I recently had someone in the field tell me to go into med school instead as acceptances are greater, have a greater impact and ability to help, amount of schooling is about the same, pay is greater, and there is more need. I had thought about med school briefly for a variety of reasons but due to some difficulty in my first few years I saw this reddit and figured Id never make it. But now Im starting to dream again.
My issue is averages are calculated differently. Most programs I was applying to just used your last 20 classes for your average which for me equals around an OMSAS 3.9. My cGPA is discardably low (3.3 ish ). I know certain schools that meets their posted minimum but it seems like from reading this reddit there are internal cut offs.
However my last 20 classes/2 years seem to violate a ton of med schools gpa calculations because I have an internship (which is pass/fail) that takes 6 cr hours per term, and thus only have 3 letter grades per term. Before that my graduating term was fall, the previous winter was covid grades etc. Which leaves only my first few years which I did awful in.
However I have had a straight upward trend, I was pushed into university not knowing what I wanted to do, thus didn’t care and was suffering from untreated mental and physical illness. I have quite a few friends who are nurses, EMTS or in med school that have previously offered to help me study for the MCAT or lend me their books, if I have a shot to take MCAT.

My issue is averages are calculated differently. Most programs I was applying to just used your last 20 classes for your average which for me equals around an OMSAS 3.9. My cGPA is discardably low (3.3 ish ). I know certain schools that meets their posted minimum but it seems like from reading this reddit there are internal cut offs.
However my last 20 classes/2 years seem to violate a ton of med schools gpa calculations because I have an internship (which is pass/fail) that takes 6 cr hours per term, and thus only have 3 letter grades per term. Before that my graduating term was fall, the previous winter was covid grades etc. Which leaves only my first few years which I did awful in.
However I have had a straight upward trend, I was pushed into university not knowing what I wanted to do, thus didn’t care and was suffering from untreated mental and physical illness. - 500 hours as a volunteer at a crisis hotline - won an award for my volunteer hours and an award for my work as a a volunteer at the hotline
- 20-40hrs/week working retail and tech for 8 years, 6 of those years training new hires
- 1000ish hours at my internship in inpatient healthcare providing counselling and psycho education for addictions and concurrent disorders
- Did circus training for a year
- 100 ish hours per year making cosplays - all through undergrad

My current credit score is affected by 100 points because of Derogatory remark by wireless company on my credit report.
I transfered to new wireless company in last May. We opened new 5 lines on call with customer care. I am not sure what he did during that period but it seems it end up creating two accounts. One of them is closed and second one active. Some account transfer happened thats what they mentioned. Next thing is I opted for auto pay and my payment was up to date for all 5 lines. Few months later I received email from wireless company saying 51 dollar is pending. I called customer care to check as online it was showing no pending amount. Customer agent said please ignore it is a spam there is nothing pending on your account. I received another email I called customer Agent again. They said please ignore it is a spam . Two months later I saw my credit score drop by 100 points and I saw wireless company account entry. I called this time again about this derogatory remark, and they said oh there is one closed account that is pending. I am a nonresident alien and I don’t know how credit system works here so I paid thinking this will improve my score. six months later now I am trying to get a mortgage loan they’re saying because of this $51 entry my score is not up to the mark to get good interest-rate. I called wireless company agent but they are saying this remark will remain for seven years and they cannot remove it. I ask them legal options they said that they are not aware of any options.
Please let me know what are my options? I don't understand where it was my mistake. I am so frustrated talking to them Everytime for at least an hour and getting nothing. Everytime I get different answers and have to repeat my self.

I'm intersex and MtF. I've been on HRT for 1 year and 11 months. My regimen: started with 4mg Estrofem (oral, all at once), 10mg Androcur (cyproterone acetate). After half a year my endocrinologist increased my dose of Estrofem to 6mg and at the 1 year mark, also gave me 100mg Utrogetsan (progesterone) at 200mg (oral as well).
After starting progesterone I've noticed that around the end of the month I had cramps when sitting/standing and it got worse when walking/running. Laying on my back helped with the cramps. They stopped after a few days.
I downloaded an app on my phone a few months ago and tracked it. According to the app, it's pretty much on point with what a menstrual cycle is. Was late by a day this time, but the cramps just came back. It's been like this for a while now. I talked about this with my cis girlfriend and she asked if I get moody a few days before the cramps. I wasn't paying attention to that months before but I have noticed that I've had some major dysphoria lately and I've cried at least 5 times in the past two days.
My last hormone bloodwork showed me lower Estradiol levels than I expected, 99 pg/mL when my previous one was 180 pg/mL. I just noticed how the recent blood test was at the end of the month, right before when my cramps appeared, while the other one was at the middle of the month. I looked it up, and results say that estrogen/progesterone levels drop a week before period, and that they steadily rise during the period then they peak at ovulation.
Googling gives me mixed results. "MtF trans patients can experience PMS symptoms" and other results saying "MtF trans patients cannot experience said symptoms because of the lack of".
I have my next appointment with my endocrinologist next month, I'll point it out to her and see if she thinks I should get a scan to see if I have any organs that I'm not supposed to have (even though I'd love to have them).
Anyone with similar experiences?

I’m an upper-year Uni student so I’ve always been after bargains and deals, mostly buying second-hand shoes from the likes of Church’s, Dack Canada, AE, and PRL (particularly the latter’s Benchmade in England’s selection). This is my first pair of MTO shoes ever, so it was a bit of a gamble. I loved the silhouette of Rene’s so I jumped on them when I saw the price. I ordered from BLKBRD on April 25th, with the shoes being shipped on May 11th and arrived on May 17th. Pradeep was in contact with me via Whatsapp, and Sandeep via Insta. Insta was the easier method of communication IMO. DHL was a bit of a menace to deal with but they did get the shoes here extremely quickly for being on the opposite side of the globe, and everything was in good order. For sizing, I initially ordered TTS (10US) but Pradeep and Sandeep both jumped to recommend making one size up in the Rene (11US). This was absolutely the right move. I had also initially ordered the Rene in a dark brown leather since I felt it the nicest shade they offered at the time. I then took a look at some of their more specialty leather offerings and chatted back and forth about different options for making this pair in a dark brown suede instead. After some deliberation, I opted for Opera’s “Go Rain” suede in Coffee. Holy smokes was it worth the hail mary pass on how it would turn out. I’m quite happy overall with the customer service since I’m 12.5 hrs behind them so it’s almost always early or late, here or there. Unfortunately these lovelies didn’t arrive with shoetrees, so I’ve already got a pair of my own in them at the moment. I may get in contact with BLKBRD to see about getting a pair of shoetrees as well. I have yet to wear the Rene’s out of the house yet, but with the weather being as gorgeous as it is here on the West Coast lately, I’ll be giving them a test drive shortly! But around 2000 a month. And this is not doing as well as I could. Not promptly answering calls. Not being able to answer text as quickly as I should. So forth. And I work for nite flirt. I average out something a little above $60 a day or something. Generally most of my conversations are yelling at somebody screaming at someone calling them all sorts of weird names or talking about how some guy bent them over and had sex with them or something else. But at least it could be comparative. It could be competitive pay. I don't feel it's competitive pay. $2,000 or 3,000 a month. Is comparable to flipping burgers. Literally at McDonald's full-time work is literally 2400 a month. I don't get it. Why would someone go with a sugar daddy paying $2k or 3k. When there are plenty of jobs that will pay you the same amount.? To me it's more consistent work too. Like all you have to do is be good at cashiering. Or flipping burgers.
