This isn't particularly well written and is more a collection of thoughts on the subject of the spiritual realm and technology, so try to read between the lines to get a jist of my angle.
While the ideas I'm presenting are unusual, I'm not a conspiracy theorist and I don't read any of that kind of thing.
I'm just a dude who's been watching the world and it's many changes and it's many things that don't seem to change.
Here goes....
I'm not a spiritual person but after many years of disregarding the concept, it seems to me that there is a spiritual world and it is weilding a great deal of power over much of the real world.
It seems that its most obvious influence is seen in people either being open to it or in a state of unconcious openess via meditation or drugs etc.
This seems to be hit and miss way of transmitting its influenecs to only certain people at any time.
Many people will dis agree that there is a spiritual realm.
Many people will dis agree that there is indeed one.
Many will disagree on the who, what, where, when and why and how many of them there are.
I don't know anything about this realm but I believe that the one I see the most evidence of is evil.
I believe it is concious, aware and is bent on directing things toward its own evil ends, what ever that is.
I can't say why or even who or what it is.
What i can say is that it seems unusual to me that over the past 100 years or so we have seen an ever increasing march toward technological advancement.
I personally think that technology has been largely misguided and exploited for profit and control, as most things tend to be.
Technology beyond the renaissance era seems beyond what humans can make proper use of with out falling completly in to at least one of those two evils.
Fast forward 100 years later and we arrive at world wide internet and all of the problems it has introduced.
Where this will all end is presently unimaginable.
So I'm left wondering....
If there is in fact a spiritual realm wielding influence here on earth, did the spirit world inspire humans to push technology so as to eventually create the digital world we are now entering?
Or did it see the potential of the digital world and hijack it for its own end as is so often the way even with humans when new developments arise in our world?
I don't know, but the push for technology as an answer to the world's problems feels more and more like a sales gimmick to embrace what we don't really need for a good life.
So now on to the digital realm....
The digital world is made up of electrical and magnetic patterns and sequences.
It's just an idea but I think its possible that the spirit world might be able to directly influence things as intangible and energy based such as electricity and magnetism.
Or perhaps an interface of sorts could be developed to allow this to happen.
If human thought or conciousness was immersed in the digital realm, and it is clear this is where things are now headed, human thought and conciousness could be directly controlled and manupulated just as any other data could be.
Controlling human thought would be simply a matter of controlling pattern based electricity in the form of software.
Not only that but the spirit world could see, hear and directly access the physical world via the internet's reach and control over physical things.
In that sense, the internet and AI could be a gateway from the spirit world to the real world via electrical and magnetic energy.
The spirit world would be able to directly influence humans and their activities via AI.
Humans are already increasingly dependant on internet technology to navigate daily life and in the same way, soon we will be dependant on AI to deal with the complexities of life and so its all consuming influence is almost inevitable.
It's all just an idea though but it seems to me, at least a worthy idea.
I mean, why is there such a push for technology that hasn't really made life any better than it was 1000 years ago?
Where is that push coming from?
I don't think it's altogether coming from us humans.
Technology seems to almost always be bent toward exploitation and control and I think this is not just a case of power hungry humans exceeding greed but something much more sinister.
The internet and AI will soon have global access to all things at all times and anyone with privileged access to those will also have such abilities.
I think its possible that the rise of surveillance would not be just so that we can be spied on but it would be the eyes and ears for the spirit world in to our world.
AI would be the gateway for its mind to have access and control in our world.
If everyone's mind is immersed in the digital realm, this could allow the spiritual realm to have unlimited and immediate control over everyone and any connected technology at any time in ways that are presently impossible.
Like in ghost busters, the door will then swing both ways.
These ideas are poorly written, unusual and vague but what ever the reality of the situation, I think we are being taken for a ride and have been sold a lie that technology will solve all our problems.

Am I crazy- going through a separation sorry this is long....
Me (33) and husband (39) have been married for approx 18 months. We've been good most times with the newly married couple issues here and there but I love him and thought marriage was for life and that you work hard at your relationships.
we've been trying for a baby for over a year and started to see a fertility specialist. I had kept something from him - an abortion I had when I was 18/19, that I alluded to before we got married but that has really come out properly now we are seeing fertility specialists. it's been hard to talk about as it was a pregnancy through a traumatic experience and I hadn't told anyone apart from one friend, no one in the world knew.
From these conversation he said he doesn't know of he would be able to trust me again and had threatened leaving, but after a few days he said we can work on building trust and moving past it.
Then we had a fight today and he had ordered me to leave the house and the marriage is over. I left the house at 1 in the morning and he collected the keys so I can't get back in. About the fight we had gone out and noticed that I had a designer belt that he hasn't seen before. He accused me of getting gifts from other men ie this belt and other items I had gotten. I told him it was old and bought it last year. he demanded to see the reciept. I said I should have it somewhere.
When we got home @near 1am he demanded I look for it and present it otherwise I need to leave his house. I couldn't find it and so things blew up throm there.
Ended up calling an uber and going to my parents house.
I am devastated but there have been other occasion where he has called me out in a wierd was without explicitly saying I'm cheating. This belt occasion he said he never accused me of cheating but what else does getting gifts from men mean?
I want to understand if I am going crazy and any advice on dealing with separation and ultimately divorce. what is your take. I've never been so sad in all my life but I'm trying hard not to do anything to harm myself and I feel utterly in a dark place now.

“So much for BSing our way out of this one.” Alex said, shaking his head.
I gave him a look. “Did you really think your people could lie your way out of this whole situation?”
“Well, if there’s one thing that humans excel at, it’s lying to each other. We’ve been doing it for as long as we have had sapience, and we’ve gotten pretty good at telling people what they want to hear.”
I blinked at him. “I don’t think that anyone is going to want to listen to you guys since you’ve kind of been lying about everything for as long you’ve been in the galactic community.”
He waved his hand dismissively before speaking, “I’m sure that all we need is one good speech explaining all the reasons that we did this, and it’ll all blow over. That is, except for the couple of species that will probably declare war on us or something like that.”
I shook my head. “You must have some good speakers if you think that your species can just make one speech and suddenly everyone will be ok with how much misinformation you’ve spread.”
Alex shrugged. “Well, at this point, there’s nothing I can really do right now so worrying about it is a waste of my brain power that could be used trying to get this mech working!” And with that he went down his little elevator thing, and made his way over to the closet, where he pulled out a series of tools and put them in a backpack.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“Well, I have about 45 minutes before I need to pick up that battery and wheelchair from the fabricator, so I need to get the mech itself ready for repairs. Pulling out what’s left of the original battery so that I can replace it when the time comes,” he said as he started to climb the mech.
I nodded. “I suppose that makes sense,” I said. “Do you need any help?”
He sighed as he tried to unscrew a tiny screw to dislodge a piece of battery and shrapnel. “Yeah, actually, I will. The battery itself is going to be about twice as big as me, and we usually have automated repair bays in our ships, so I will probably need some help,” he said before mumbling under his breath so quiet that I could barely hear him, “Good thing I’m an engineer.” He finally dislodged the piece of shrapnel and pulled out the battery piece that was attached to it. He looked at it for a second before tossing it onto the floor. “Once I get this thing up and running, I’ll start cleaning up the mess that I make.”
And with that, we got to work. We would end up spending most of the time pulling out the damaged components from the mech, with the occasional pop culture reference coming from Alex. Of course, I didn’t know what he was even talking about, because the most I knew about human culture was the very little that humanity even gave us in the first place. He seemed a bit crestfallen when I first said that but got increasingly irritated until he finally just pulled up a video on his holoprojector and left it on for me to view as we continued to pull apart the mech where it was broken. We had just finished as I heard Alex’s communicator go off.
He looked at it, looked back up to me, and said, “I just got a message that the fabrication is done. Could you get the battery and wheelchair for me? I would go with you, but I really don’t want to get on the captain’s bad side right now.”
I rolled my eyes. “Of course, you start following the rules after you cause an incident that could throw your species into war.”
He chuckled. “Gotta start somewhere. Oh, and can you tell the crowd of about twenty people to stop lurking outside my door?”
I opened the door just a crack. Sure enough, there were about twenty people of various species lurking outside Alex’s cabin. I closed the door and turned to him. “How did you know how many people there were out there?” I asked.
“Don’t tell anyone that I told you this, but when I got here, I put a motion sensor outside, so I know if anyone’s trying to sneak up on me,” he said, still focusing on his communicator.
“Alright, don’t get kidnapped while I’m gone!” I said jokingly.
“I will make no such promises,” he said back.
And with that, I opened the door back up and stepped out into the hall. I did a headcount once again, finding Alex’s count to be accurate. They all seemed to be waiting there, expecting something to happen.
One of the group who I clocked as Kraark, a Chupir, one of the few species in the galaxy that is capable of flight with their wide wingspans, stepped forward. “Is Alex ok? We heard what happened, and just wanted to make sure he’s ok,” he said.
I gave a heavy sigh. “We both know that you couldn’t care less if he got hurt, you just want to see if the rumors about Alex are true,” I said as I tried to muscle my way through the crowd.
“Well, yeah, that is true,” he responded, “But we also want to know if he’s ok. That was a nasty breach in his suit that he had.”
I stopped and looked back at Kraark. “Well, he’s ok now, that’s all you really need to know. And can you leave him alone? He’s already gone through enough today without other people harassing him into showing his face when he doesn’t want to. You never cared about his wellbeing before this, so stop pretending to care now!”
There were a few mutters of acknowledgment before the entire crowd finally dispersed. I sighed and started making my way over to the fabricator. Occasionally I would get stopped by various people trying to get the latest from me about Alex, and I told them the same thing that I told everyone else. You’d think that they would have other things to gossip about but nooooo, they must focus on the one thing that they really shouldn’t be. If only I hadn’t been so nosy in the first place this probably never would have happened. I was snapped out of my introspection as I finally made it to the fabricator bay. I stepped in to see a fellow Cosholay manning the computer where they managed the incoming orders.
They looked up at me and the crest of their feathers popped up in a greeting. “Hello there, how can I help you?”
I popped up my crest in greeting as well. “I’m here to pick up a few things that a friend had fabricated, it was a battery and a wheelchair.” They nodded knowingly and went to the back of the bay and pulled out a small box on top of the wheelchair.
“It was a bit of an odd request, but hey, those Terrans are odd ones,” they said. They seemed to get a glint in their eye as they looked me over. “So, how long have you known the Terran for?”
I snorted. “The same amount of time as anyone else. But I did get to talk with him more often since we were both on the security team.”
“So did you know?” they asked.
“Of course I didn’t. The Terrans are so secretive, and for good reason too, considering how much the crew has been harassing him since everything happened.”
“It’s hard to imagine that they were lying about so much. It really makes you wonder what else they could be lying about.”
I pondered that for a moment before responding. “Alex has been nothing honest and kind to me with the things that he can talk about. I trust him,” I said.
“Yeah, but how do you know that he really is?” they asked.
I thought back to the ready room, and the emotion that Alex showed. “I just know, ok?”
“Alright, I hope that you know what you’re doing,” they said, doubt evident in their voice.
With that I collected the battery and wheelchair and started back to Alex’s cabin. Luckily, I didn’t run into any more people trying to get the latest on our resident Terran. I finally walked into the cabin and saw him sitting on the bed looking at his communicator. I immediately knew something was wrong as he was a couple shades lighter than I had seen him previously. “What’s wrong?” I asked.
He looked up at me and said, “Someone just declared war on us.”

He just broke up with me and left. His friends backed him up.
I feel like shit. I felt like I wanted to dig my own grave and go six feet under ground.
Currently, I am on zero social media. My friends don’t like me either, none of them checked in on me.
I’m alone for the rest of my life.
I’ll just make peace with everything and smile when I need to. I just don’t like living life anymore the way I used to.
I think this is for the best. I have never felt this alone and betrayed. I won’t cry cause it wasn’t my fault.

This happened may 31st 2023, so just a few days ago but it was my boyfriends birthday and he has this field behind his house with a clearing so the stars are really pretty out there at night so we got a blow up mattress some pillows and blankets and parked his truck in the field to look at the stars, it all started when I had to pee so I made my bf walk back to his house to get me toilet paper so I could just pee outside and use the toilet paper but when he was gone I was on the passenger side of the truck standing outside it and I heard something messing with the driver side door handle and I just tried to ignore it and pretend I didn’t hear it because I don’t handle things like that well I just pretend it isn’t happening and waited for him to get back, when he got back a few minutes later he brought his cat with him and when the cat got out there with him the cat was absolutely terrified and you could see it in his face and he never acts like that and he jumped down and me and my bf were back in the back bed of the truck laying on the air Mattress looking at the stars and he heard his cat sneeze and started looking around and something just came over me and I begged him not to get out because he wanted to get out to find the cat, so he didn’t get out and we laid back down and I was honestly about to fall asleep and so was he and my bf just kept mumbling “can’t fall asleep I have to protect you, I need to protect you” and not even 30 seconds later we heard what sounded like a 4 year old girl laugh in the edge of the field near the woods and he just said we need to leave right now I’ll explain when we get back to the house, so we left and as soon as we got back all he was said was “ it was a sk*****ker, it was mimicking noises to get us to separate out of the truck” and ever since that night really weird things have been happening to us and we always feel really uneasy, the next night we were talking about it and afterwards we drove around and we drove by an abandoned house and every light in that house flickered on and off when we drove by, and we’ve drove by a lot of street lamps that randomly go out and come back on as we pass them driving, and honestly I don’t feel safe anywhere I go. I’m definitely lucky to be alive since he left me alone in that field once that night but my mom told me they can follow you and attach themselves to you so all we can do is pray, if anyone has any advice please don’t hesitate to give it because honestly I’m scared for my life and usually I don’t strongly believe in this stuff, but earlier that night he mentioned one and said the word so we think that’s why we encountered one and honestly I just want it to go away.

So, my eldest son (23) has recently moved back home after living abroad for 5 years. He works in the hotel industry and while living away worked in a bar. Concerns had been raised in the past over his drinking habits but he was in another country so it was hard to actually know.
It was a difficult decision for him to move back home and he saw it as a failure (despite my reassurances about how much he has achieved etc) We live in a very rural area and he doesn’t drive so is relying on me to get him to and from work. (This is more of a mild inconvenience to me than a problem)
A few days ago he rang me earlier than expected and asked me to collect him and it became very clear that he was drunk.
Turns out he started to drink before work and decided not to stop including him drinking in his hotel. His manager had noticed something wasn’t right and sent him home.
Initially I was angry with him (I regret this in all honesty because I know he would have already felt embarrassed about it and it was also my birthday) but when I got him I asked him was he ok and what had happened and he talked a bit about how he had felt anxious about going in as he had been off sick and another manager had told him he had ruined his and his wife’s anniversary because he couldn’t get his shift covered (I was very angry at this) so this was his trigger.
He talked about how miserable he feels which I totally understand but he was very drunk so it wasn’t the right time to talk properly.
Credit to him he got up the next day and went into work to face the music (I’d have rang first because I wouldn’t have been able for that or more than likely just never went back and avoid going in the building ever again!) luckily his manager (the one who blamed him for ruining his anniversary) was very accommodating and he still has his job.
He is obviously very delicate atm so I don’t feel it’s the right time to dig deeper (only happened two days ago and “the fear” is real!) but we obviously will be sitting down to have a conversation about it this evening.
Some background;
Drink is a thing in my family. My mother was an alcoholic and died due do it when I was a child. My father also had drink problems but not the same way as my mother. As he got older and after two strokes he spent a long time drinking to excess. My brother and sister are both addicts and I myself have had issues with excessive drinking in the past so this is far from something new!
But it is my opportunity to do something none of the others have done yet. I can help him but this is where the advice is needed.
I was 18 when I had my son and he didn’t have the stability a child needs. He’s very deep and emotional and we both use meditation and spirituality to help support us BUT I am responsible for some of the things he experienced as a child and as much as I am more than willing to do the work and help him heal I know it’s going to be hard.
So what the actual f*ck am I gonna do 😂

Only In The West, Only In Asia Most Westerners do not like the ancient commentaries or the Abhidhamma. Westerners are very far away from Asian culture in both time and space (miles), and because of this, they have difficulty understanding the cultural and ancient time differences.
A small story shows this example well. It might be useful for the next toilet paper shortage. This is picture and story of a bidet (which are used instead of toilet paper).
A monastic friend showed me his new sprayer he was going to install. My eyes lit up and I said, “Can I take a picture of that?”

Sometimes, based on culture, time, and place, one can gain different but real interpretations that are counter intuitive to basic common sense. Using a sprayer like that in the kitchen sink is seen equally as using a clean toilet brush to wash the dishes. Nevertheless, as the toilet brush gets used and old looking, you just cannot help but be grossed out from it. It just does not make sense and this is how an Asian person looks at the Western usage of a sprayer. It is beyond imagination for them. So if the commentaries explained that the spray guns are used for washing dishes, they would immediately reject such statements, like my monastic friend did with his “yuck” face.
Contrary, many Westerners criticize the Buddhist Commentaries and Abhidhamma which are the footnote explanations for the Suttas. While some points may seem counter-intuitive, they were based on a time and culture over 2000 years ago. It is hard to judge impartially, especially for a Westerner who grew up and lives very far away in time and space.
That was the modern device too. The Suttas mention “Water Pots For Toilets” and Western people think, “Oh this is for flushing the toilet,” even though there were no flush toilets in the forest monasteries. They were used for the same purpose as mentioned above with a water bowl and smaller bucket used inside which is still used in Asia today. We have monk rules about how the water bowl should be stored upside down so it won’t collect water and rust or get moldy (if plastic). So it is easy to make mistakes, especially for Westerners. That is why the Westerners and Modern Asians are quick to incorrectly judge the commentaries.
Enlightenment and nonself are counter-intuitive too. They go against our natural tendencies. That is why many Westerners like the content mentioned in Ajahn Mun’s Biography. The Thai Forest Traditions, which worship this book as a “bible” to monkhood seem to be the only thing in town for Buddhism in the West. This book helps one believe that an Arahant or even previous Buddhas exists after death with a “citta” that can never be destroyed, which is clearly wrong view according to proper Theravada Buddhism and more inline with Mahayana and Vedanta. Those official “scholarly” writings on the subject in English are often from Thai influenced monks. Westerners in general just don’t understand that the “self” is really a “nonself” because it is made of materiality, feeling, perception, volitional formations, and consciousness which are continually arising and perishing moment by moment at incredibly fast speeds. There is no self and when the fuel runs out for those who are fully enlightened, nothing arises again. Nothing.

Straight out I would say this turned out so much different than I ever expected and also it has been taking days of work. All of which enjoyable, I love building stuff, but building a cooling system from scratch needs quite some precision work :)
This is one of my first post here, so I hope it all turns out well!
It all started when a friend gave me his old GPU - a strix gtx 970 4gb OC. And that cascaded in getting all other components. I should note that this is not the best option for a GPU in a fanless system, but it's what I got :) To be hones, it ran VERY quiet with original cooling, but... I disassembled it already , there is no going back haha.
CPU is a ryzen 5 3600
MB is mini ITX GIGABYTE B450I AORUS PRO Wi-FiBeQuiet pure power 11 500W . it has a fan, but have seen it spinning only a few times and it's inaudible :)
18gb ram, 1tb samsung nvma and so on, nothing special on this front, just needed some parts to make it run.
All temps are in Celsius! :)
At my work ( I repair clinical equipment) I got a hold of these beauties from a device in one laboratory.

My first idea was to directly press the cpu against a block of aluminum and the big heatsink.Unfortunately the 2 prototypes I tried, didn't transfer the head fast enough to the big headsing and the CPU would get hot really fast during a stress test.(I glued the nuts with fast glue and baking soda. It got so hard and strong that I had trouble removing it after that! haha )The first 2 tries looked like that:

At this point I was still under the disillusion, that this would be a quick job, done in a few hours. I lough at myself when I think back at how I imagined all this would go...Trying to build and cut everything on the fly, every whole was on the wrong spot, I kept on breaking drills and taps , while making holes and threads...After the first few uncecesfull attepmts I realised I need to take my time to work on every single piece of it slowly and measure everything better if I wanted to go anywhere with this.At this point I still didn't know if I would be able to cool the CPU, much less the GPU.The CPU is 65W and the GPU is twice as much and probably sucking even more power at max load.
Next I decided to use heat pipes, but instead of ordering some and figuring out how to attach them to the CPU die, I decided to repurpose an older cooler master CPU cooler I had around ( also a donation from a friend ) It was for an older intel CPU, so I had to create a mount for it for my AM4 platform :)
So I began and 2 hours later ...

I drilled holes for half of the pipes and stuck them inside the radiator, the other ones I bent and pressed against the face of the other radiator. At this point I am using two of them.Bending the heatpipes without a proper tool is a mess.I ended up using the neck of a bottle of wine.....I wouldn't go too deep in this topic hahahahTo my surprise it was working!!!! I managed to get to max 80C under stress. :)
At this point I was feeling a bit more optimistic and started working on the cooling for the gpu.This time I didn't even bother with trying to cool the gpu without headpipes, so I did the same as with the CPU - repurposed some heatpipes... or you could say - Destroyed a perfectly fine working cooling hehe -

At this point I was much more careful with the holes I drilled.I have a few jars with old bolts and nuts left from my grandfather - they hold everything in this project. Whenever I needed any size of anything, I found it in there. And everytime I was thankful to him! <3 Love you grandpop!

The first time I ran the Pc with the new GPU cooling, and started stress testing it - the computer turned off without a warning! It obviously overheated.I was a bit disappointed for a while, until I remembered the VRMs have just a small heatsink above them and no fan to blow air on it at the moment...So I cut two big sheets of 3mm aluminum and stuck them on the chips with a thermal pad.That did the trick , but they got around 95C while playing games.I had to address this.
Next I got more presents from a friend - a flat heatpipe from a laptop cooling and an old GPU cooling ( heatpipes and radiator)I should have made more photos of the creation, because it is so funny :) Nowhere near good looking.I put a 2mm copper plate on the vrm chips the laptop heatpipe, sandwiched with a sheet of aluminum plate. The flat heatpipe curves around the gpu body, goes to the other side and there I pressed the other end between another sheet of aluminum and the other gpu cooler.

This did the trick - VRM are at 62C during gaming. That's fine for me. :)Holding one end with a zip tie... At this point I have no aestetic goals for the inside :D
Building everything together around the gpu is a step by step process in specific order so that everything comes together... I had to build and take everything apart or rework it in order to have access to all the bolds and nuts holding the whole thing together.
When I play Horizon : Forbbiden west, I get 50-60C CPU, 62 VRMs and around 90CI seem to remember that on the build before the vrm upgrade the gpu was not getting hotter than 85C... Will have to work on that more.
There is an original, thin black alu plate on the back side of the GPU that get really HOT. I can't seem to find anything directly touching to it, aside from one small chip ( don't know what its for) with a 2-3mm thick thermal pad on it. I am thinking of changing this thin back plate with a much wider and thicker one. I have some 3-4 mm sheets.That's one of the next steps, when I feel motivated, and after that I will start thinking about making a wooden box for the whole thing. I have a few Teak wood planks.And just for the sake of it am wandering if I should add one fan at the bottom of the box just in caseMaybe an Noctua nf-a12x15, turning at very low RPMs... will see about that :)
I don't know how heavy it is. It's still not in one piece and stays in place thanks to my oldschool sci-fi book collection :)

This isn't particularly well written and is more a collection of thoughts on the subject of the spiritual realm and technology, so try to read between the lines to get a jist of my angle.
While the ideas I'm presenting are unusual, I'm not a conspiracy theorist and I don't read any of that kind of thing.
I'm just a dude who's been watching the world and it's many changes and it's many things that don't seem to change.
Here goes....
I'm not a spiritual person but after many years of disregarding the concept, it seems to me that there is a spiritual world and it is weilding a great deal of power over much of the real world.
It seems that its most obvious influence is seen in people either being open to it or in a state of unconcious openess via meditation or drugs etc.
This seems to be hit and miss way of transmitting its influenecs to only certain people at any time.
Many people will dis agree that there is a spiritual realm.
Many people will dis agree that there is indeed one.
Many will disagree on the who, what, where, when and why and how many of them there are.
I don't know anything about this realm but I believe that the one I see the most evidence of is evil.
I believe it is concious, aware and is bent on directing things toward its own evil ends, what ever that is.
I can't say why or even who or what it is.
What i can say is that it seems unusual to me that over the past 100 years or so we have seen an ever increasing march toward technological advancement.
I personally think that technology has been largely misguided and exploited for profit and control, as most things tend to be.
Technology beyond the renaissance era seems beyond what humans can make proper use of with out falling completly in to at least one of those two evils.
Fast forward 100 years later and we arrive at world wide internet and all of the problems it has introduced.
Where this will all end is presently unimaginable.
So I'm left wondering....
If there is in fact a spiritual realm wielding influence here on earth, did the spirit world inspire humans to push technology so as to eventually create the digital world we are now entering?
Or did it see the potential of the digital world and hijack it for its own end as is so often the way even with humans when new developments arise in our world?
I don't know, but the push for technology as an answer to the world's problems feels more and more like a sales gimmick to embrace what we don't really need for a good life.
So now on to the digital realm....
The digital world is made up of electrical and magnetic patterns and sequences.
It's just an idea but I think its possible that the spirit world might be able to directly influence things as intangible and energy based such as electricity and magnetism.
Or perhaps an interface of sorts could be developed to allow this to happen.
If human thought or conciousness was immersed in the digital realm, and it is clear this is where things are now headed, human thought and conciousness could be directly controlled and manupulated just as any other data could be.
Controlling human thought would be simply a matter of controlling pattern based electricity in the form of software.
Not only that but the spirit world could see, hear and directly access the physical world via the internet's reach and control over physical things.
In that sense, the internet and AI could be a gateway from the spirit world to the real world via electrical and magnetic energy.
The spirit world would be able to directly influence humans and their activities via AI.
Humans are already increasingly dependant on internet technology to navigate daily life and in the same way, soon we will be dependant on AI to deal with the complexities of life and so its all consuming influence is almost inevitable.
It's all just an idea though but it seems to me, at least a worthy idea.
I mean, why is there such a push for technology that hasn't really made life any better than it was 1000 years ago?
Where is that push coming from?
I don't think it's altogether coming from us humans.
Technology seems to almost always be bent toward exploitation and control and I think this is not just a case of power hungry humans exceeding greed but something much more sinister.
The internet and AI will soon have global access to all things at all times and anyone with privileged access to those will also have such abilities.
I think its possible that the rise of surveillance would not be just so that we can be spied on but it would be the eyes and ears for the spirit world in to our world.
AI would be the gateway for its mind to have access and control in our world.
If everyone's mind is immersed in the digital realm, this could allow the spiritual realm to have unlimited and immediate control over everyone and any connected technology at any time in ways that are presently impossible.
Like in ghost busters, the door will then swing both ways.
These ideas are poorly written, unusual and vague but what ever the reality of the situation, I think we are being taken for a ride and have been sold a lie that technology will solve all our problems.

This might be a stretch. It’s an older film around 2000 ish. I believe it was an American film and only the lead was English. He’s a writer or a play writer with insomnia who takes walks to smoke cigarettes. His wife desperately wants a baby but he can’t get it up. He goes to the doc and his prostrate gets checked and he exclaims “I’m as straight as an arrow!” In a different scene his wife tells him to stop being a baby and he says that’s all you ever think about isn’t it, babies babies babies. About a month ago I caught my boyfriend chatting up with women on datingwebsites.
I already packed all his shit and denied him acces to the house so he had to stay where ever.
In my Sherlock mode I found out a lot of details that didn't add up with his explanations, he basically said he didn't know or forgot. Mainly because of his alcoholabuse.
I completely called out all his bullshit and had screenshots and photo's to proof it.
After a lot of stomach twisting emotions and a lot of talk with him and family and friends, I decided to give him another chance. I got as advice that if you don't try, you won't know.
We set some "rules" and things that needed to change in our relationship and the biggest thing was that he can't ever drink anymore and I will get acces to his phone at all times.
Now, a month later, we have been doing pretty good. He hold up his side of the deal, so I have nothing to be upset about. Besides the whole thing that triggered it in the first place ofcourse...
I just... can't sleep well. I guess I found a new hyperfocus on his phone and I bothers me to no end. It feels like I just want to keep digging: did I overlook something, does he now use incognito mode, does he have other ways to trick me? The trust is clearly shattered. And when I do sleep, I get dreams about me catching him again and getting into a fight.
But throughout the day, I do feel fine. It's more the nighttime that messes me up. And it's not that I don't want him around me either.
It is just so tiring... and I guess everything needs time to heal.

Why do people believe that Kana x Aqua will be the endgame?

Longer Version:

I noticed that many of you believe that Kana x Aqua will be the endgame but it has started confusing me. This is the first time any story has confused me this much. At first, I was sure that it was Kana due to many moments sprinkled here and there, and was directly acknowledged by multiple characters so it must be true right? This is where I found myself bitten by the confirmation bias devil, which I realized when I tried to gauge Akane but I couldn't just see how she will end, with how much her character revolves around her relationship with Aqua. When I tried to review the same, I realized some points.

Aqua's "obsession" with Kana:

Starting with the obvious, Aqua's main goal is to take his revenge, and he sees himself as unworthy to have such relationships with anyone. Many moments show Aqua clearly loves her. But After I took a step back and tried to look at his relationship with Kana, I found it to be " involuted " to put it mildly. He seems to be "obsessed" with her but I couldn't pinpoint the root of this. To dig a bit deeper, When he believed that his "revenge" is over, he kept his distance from her due to his trauma.

We can take this at face value, right? For someone as observant as Akane to say this, It has to be true, right? Yes and No, To understand better let's look at Akane's relationship with Aqua.

A Lie of a Relationship:

Shifting our focus to the second key player, Akane. The relationship started with Aqua saving Akane without any "lies" as acknowledged by Akane. They went on dates that were only in "name". Aqua, to his admission only dated her due to her intellect and was hoping to use her. But to his surprise, his "father" was dead already and his revenge is "completed" without him "using" Akane. But he was hesitant to break up with her, why? Even though he admitted to himself that he is holding her back, why didn't he break up with her?

As we all know, Aqua hides behind a mask and he fools even himself that it is his true self. He believed that he is unworthy but a lie can only last so long, He acted like he didn't care about his corpse but as he admitted himself, he always wanted someone to find him like a scared child who is closed off to the world.

The Last Honest Conversation:

The first line that Aqua says to Akane after saving her from the stairs is,

He comes to her rescue again, and with the last of his very few moments of "freedom", he confronts Akane. He points out the hypocrisy in Akane as she was trying to do, what he had done, trying to shoulder everything by herself.

Aka's Handling of characters:

Judging by his previous works, I can say that every of his character serves some thematic purpose, if so what was the point of Akane in the story? What was the point of Akane's and Aqua's relationship? Was it just for her figuring out Hikaru? If so why is she still present in the story? Is she going to die? (No! Akane dying!? I don't want that!) That's unlikely given how many flags she crossed and cannot be as easily manipulated by Hikaru, now that she's mindful of him takes that option out for me.

"Saving" Aqua:

This is a major point and I believe is the deterrent to who will be the endgame, Aqua in his destructive mindset just doesn't want anyone he cares about to follow him.

Akane's way of saving aqua

The contradiction:

So this is where the confusion lies for me, While aqua values Akane as a person, he seems to be drawn towards Kana. He was always aware of how Kana felt for him, he purposely ignored it due to his low self-worth. He spent more time with Akane than with Kana and kept dating her which he didn't need to. Did he keep doing that because he didn't want to involve with Kana because she was an idol? I don't think that's the case either as we can see how Aqua feels towards Akane. This is where the contradiction arises.

A Diamond in the "Rough" :

Back to Kana, The main reason why many of us love Kana is because of her straightforward nature (of course she is cute as hell too). As for Aqua, I believe the reason behind his "obsession" is exactly this. In a world full of lies, he finds her as a solace, a person to believe in. Her purity fascinates him and he wants to protect and cherish her. He probably believes that he shouldn't dirty someone as pure as her with himself. This is where every piece of the puzzle started to fall into place. To put it simply,

Kana is Aqua's idol.

Subverting Expectations:

This is pure speculation but with how many hints are placed for Aqua x Kana, I doubt we shouldn't be surprised if we can deconstruct them, they are a double-edged sword. They can be both interpreted as platonic or romantic whichever it is,

CONCLUSION:

This is just how I believe it will end, I may have glossed over a few things as I got into this while I am in the middle of my semester exams, which are continuing so I put this together in kind of a hurry. My conclusion would be,
Akane is the endgame and Kana is his idol. My gut feeling just tells me that. The way aka developed Aqua's relationship with both of them is quite unique, I would be satisfied with either ship coming true and would be satisfied with neither too.
But this is where the contradiction lies within me as I dug deeper into his relationship with Akane and how throughout the story, she has been his partner to see and embrace his true side in his age group.
The relationship between them was fake and they needed to break up, I'd parallel this with Ruby. Their sibling relationship was a lie with them connecting only through Ai which would change into something genuine in the end, just like that he will get back with Akane but this time, it'll be genuine, which it wasn't when he was trying to be honest with her.
This would be a stark difference in his relationship with Kana, Which wasn't a lie from the start, I believe this would end up with a confession from Kana, but whether he accepts it or not is the question.

Welcome back to our second discussion of Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse. This week we're covering chapters 7-13. Here's a summary of what's happened now:
We jump back in with Serapio, who, 10 years after his mother's ritual, is finally headed to Tova. The intervening years have been hard for Serapio, between his father's neglect and his tutors' cruelty, but he is finally ready to achieve his destiny. Pilgrims have taken him from Obregi to Cuecola, and now Lord Balam has secured him passage to Tova in time for the Day of Convergence.
That morning, Serapio is already on board the ship when the crew arrives and begins to prepare for departure. No one bothers him, but Serapio enjoys the "almost company" as they prepare. Around midday, he hears raised voices and what seems to be a confrontation involving a few men, including Lord Balam. Serapio uses star pollen stored in a bag around his neck to communicate with a nearby crow and allow him to see through its eyes. Through the crow, Serapio sees the crew as they watch the argument between Lords Pech and Balam on the deck. He also sees a woman with radiating power that he recognizes is Teek before she whistles and breaks his connection to the crow, causing him to bleed in the process. Serapio is enamored with her and, as they push off, resolves to get to know the crew and captain during the upcoming journey.
We jump back in time to 8 years before the Day of Convergence. Serapio is fourteen, two years removed from his mother's ritual and death and more or less ignored by his father. One day, as Serapio sits on the terrace feeding and playing with his crows, his father brings a man who claims he will prepare him for his destiny. Serapio replies that he's already aware of his destiny, to be born a crow, and when pressed, reveals the nicknames other crows have given him, such as Grandfather Crow, Nightbringer, and Suneater.
The man confirms that Saaya had arranged for him and two others to train Serapio for his destiny - to become a god. The man hands Serapio a piece of wood and a chisel, explaining that he's going to teach him how to carve. He asks Seraipio a question; Serapio replies with a smart-aleck answer; and then the man strikes Serapio across the face. Before Serapio can call his crows to attack the man, he tells him that he'll hurt them too. The man grabs and strikes Serapio a few more times, telling him that he must become accustomed to pain in order to achieve his destiny, and that it's his responsibility to teach him how. Cowed, Serapio begins to cooperate with the man's questions and instructions. That night, before he leaves, the man tells Serapio he can call him Paadeh. Serapio eventually falls asleep holding the beginning of his first carving - a crow.
19 days before Convergence, Naranpa sits with the other priests during a long Conclave meeting at night. Well, all of the other priests except for Iktan, who Naranpa realized had sent someone in xir place and who slips into the room later during the meeting. Naranpa has spent most of the meeting wondering what Iktan could be doing instead of paying attention, which becomes clear when Haisan asks her if she wants to add anything and Naranpa has to ask him to repeat what he just said. Abah tries to take advantage of Naranpa's lapse in attention, suggesting that it would of course be due to the excitement of the assassination attempt that morning and that it was understandable. She suggests that maybe Eche, the dedicant generally regarded as Naranpa's chosen successor, could step in.
Naranpa refutes this and begins to talk about the assassination attempt plainly, hoping to convey her feelings that it stemmed from the mostly nonexistent relationship between the Celestial Tower and the Sky Made clans and their waning power. Naranpa also suspects that Eche is sleeping with Abah and so the two of them have joined forces together against her. Abah then suggests that perhaps Naranpa's reforms are too ambitious, which is why the assassin targeted her, and that she might be better off stepping down. Abah even goes so far as to suggest that the attempt might be related to Naranpa's family in Coyote Maw, particularly her younger brother. Naranpa bristles at these accusations, even going so far as to tell Abah to fuck off, before deciding that it would be better for her to leave rather than allowing Abah to bait her any further. Before she can leave, a servant arrives with the news that Yatliza, the matron of Carrion Crow, is dead.
This, understandably, makes everyone nervous, given the earlier assassination attempt. Naranpa ends the conclave and dismisses everyone except for the four priest and the servant who brought the news. Naranpa asks the servant to explain the circumstances behind the murder; the servant, confused, explains that Yatliza wasn't murdered, just found dead in her bed, before recounting everything she knew. Naranpa dismisses the servant as Haisan and Iktan begin to bicker about what to do next.
Yatliza's death has come at an inconvenient and some would say inauspicious time. The Celestial Tower has closed for the Shuttering, a 20 day period of fasting and penitence in preparation for the winter solstice and a ceremony welcoming the return of the sun afterwards. At the same time, Yatliza's death will leave one of the Sky Made clans without a matron until a new one is invested, which unbalances the Speaker Council that handles civil affairs in Tova and leaves Carrion Crow without a leader. It will look bad to have a funeral and anointing during the Shuttering, but waiting until after the Shuttering for the anointing will appear disrespectful and leaves the opportunity for other factions to take advantage of the power vacuum and imbalance. On top of all of this, although Yatliza has a daughter who would generally be expected to step in as the next matron it's possible the other council members might have objections.
Naranpa quickly makes up her mind, deciding that they will have a state funeral in four days as usual and that Yatliza's daughter will be anointed as the new matron of Carrion Crow shortly afterwards. They will request that the Sky Made clans come to them to plan everything, since they are shuttered, and if the Speakers Council feels someone else should be matron they can take it up with the Tower after the solstice. Naranpa gives everyone their tasks, mostly to get them out of her hair, and dismisses them before heading up to her rooms. She'll speak to the other clan matrons alone later that day.
Iktan catches up with Naranpa as she reaches her rooms. Naranpa worries about how Abah could know about Ochi (Denaochi), given how she had destroyed references to her past. Iktan explains that if someone went looking to dig up her secrets, it wouldn't be hard to find him. Xe also reassures Naranpa that while Abah did embarrass her during Conclave, she managed to recover well enough, although Abah still cannot be trusted. At this point, Naranpa spots a scratch on Iktan's neck, offering to heal it before she realizes and xe confirms that it came from a "moment of passion" - Iktan has a lover that is not her. Hurt and jealous, Naranpa insults Iktan and xe leaves.
We briefly step back in time one day, back to 20 days before the Day of Convergence. After a hard day of rowing, Xiala directs Callo to have the men land on a nearby cay where they'll rest for the night. She then goes off to see Patu, a sailor known for his cooking skills and habitual seasickness. Xiala is a bit concerned to find Patu sick, but he waves it off, saying it's just a cold and Callo vouched for him. He begins to plan a feast for the men using the very nice provisions Lord Balam stocked the ship with. Xiala leaves Patu to it and heads back to middle of the ship, wondering about the man from Obregi that has yet to emerge from the room. Lord Balam had described him as a kind of religious recluse, which doesn't endear him to Xiala at all. Still, she's willing to do the bare minimum and make sure he's at least seen to during the trip, but before she can talk to the man they land.
By the time Xiala gets off the ship, the men are well into the feast Patu has prepared. The food is good, the liquor is flowing, and everyone is having a good time. The men greet Xiala happily, chanting "Teek" a few times, which is a little unsettling, but Xiala brushes it off and joins the meal. After eating and a couple of drinks, Xiala addresses the crew to break the news about Lord Balam's requirement of reaching Tova in 20 days. A number of them worry, since making the timetable would require them to sail in open waters during a particular dangerous season. Oddly enough, Callo is the one who speaks in Xiala's favor, asserting that Xiala's Song will help smooth their passage. This isn't really how Xiala's powers actually work, more of a superstition around how they supposedly work, but she decides to lean into and play up her Teek heritage. The crew latches onto the idea, even chanting "Teek" over and over again in their enthusiasm, and making bold claims about reaching Tova in even less time. While Xiala is grateful that the crew is eager to sail the open waters to achieve their goal, she is a bit nervous that they all rallied behind Callo's support. She can't help but wonder what will happen in the future if she and Callo disagree on a decision.
Xiala speaks to Callo privately, directing him to cut off the alcohol soon and make preparations to leave tomorrow. Xiala usually sleeps on the ship while the crew is on land; although she's worried about the crew bonding in her absence, she decides to trust Callo in this instance. Before she can finish her instructions and head to the ship, Callo pales at something behind her, and the crew grows quiet.
We know that earlier that day, Serapio enjoyed just generally being around the crew as they left Cuecola. When they initially landed, he stayed on the ship but, after hearing the sounds of the crew and captain as they ate, Serapio decides to try to join them. So he covers his eyes, pulls his cowl up, and slowly makes his way to where everyone else. As the others see him appear, everyone stops. The (anachronistic) record scratches. You can hear a pin drop. Serapio says hello in stilted Cuecolan and smiles at everyone, until he remembers his teeth are red and stops smiling because that's probably not helping right now.
Xiala tries to be polite and respectful, hoping to lead by example, but the crew is definitely scared of him. Even when Callo gets a plate of food for Serapio, he stands back and holds it out as if he's afraid to get any closer. Frustrated, Xiala takes the food and Serapio back to the ship, reminding Callo to have the others ready to sail at dawn. Once on the ship, Xiala and Serapio get to know each other as Serapio tries a bunch of new foods, including a painful-to-read experience with eating fish. Serapio confirms that he can see somewhat, mostly shapes, shadows, light, and movement, relying on other senses for everything else (and the crows, though he doesn't mention that). Xiala confirms that she is Teek, and the both of them acknowledge the precariousness of the whole voyage, particularly in terms of Callo's popularity with the crew. As she gets ready to leave, Xiala tells Serapio to go outside tomorrow morning to let the crew see he was just a man like them, albeit with his eyes covered. She explains that she'll sleep on the ship and be there to protect him if a superstitious crew member decides to kill him that night. When Serapio asks who will protect her, Xiala replies that she's with her mother, the sea, and no one messes with her children.
We close with Serapio, 6 years before the Convergence. He's sitting at his workbench when a strange woman enters his room, admiring his carvings. She says that Paadeh sent for her, although she doesn't seem to know that Paadeh is dead, a fact Serapio isn't eager to share for some reason. The woman introduces herself as Eedi, the second tutor arranged to prepare Serapio for his destiny. Eedi is purposefully evasive, but she generally reveals that she's a former spearmaiden from Hokaia. This confuses Serapio a bit, since Carrior Crow is from Tova, but she reassures him that their influence is great and that some in Hokaia would like to see the Celestial Tower brought to heel as well.
Suddenly, Eedi asks Serapio if he would like to begin before striking him with her spear. She manages to hit him again before he blocks her strike, at which point she walks over to his shelf of carvings and knocks them all onto the ground. Panicking, Serapio tries to grab at Eedi and stop her but bumps into other things or gets knocked out of the way. Eedit keeps knocking carvings onto the floor, threatening to destroy his trunk and even break her bones. Serapio stops to think; it's clear he'll have to outsmart her rather than overpower her. When he puts his hand on the desk, he touches the divination mirror his mother used to use. Serapio uses the mirror to throw a shadow at Eedi, and then some of his carvings when she's distracted by that. He bumrushes Eedi, knocking her to the ground, then tries to attack her with the chisel but misses. Serapio then tries to rip out Eedi's eye, but she manages to knock him off of her before leaving in search of a healer.
Eedi eventually returns, asking Serapio how he knew how to use shadows like that. He replies that he doesn't know; it was just instinctual. Eedi tells him that her job is to train his body, in the way that Paadeh trained his mind. His third tutor, Powageh, will deal with his powers; until then, Eedi will teach him how to fight.
