2023.06.04 19:01 ladystohne A kid took my cane and somehow I’m the bad guy?
This happened a few weeks ago and I just wanted to share here because this subreddit understands me. I’m 31F and childfree. I don’t hate kids if they belong to friends or family, I just don’t want to deal with random stranger’s kids and I absolutely can’t stand when their parents don’t do their damn jobs and control their kids in public.
I have a joint disorder that causes my joints to break down over time (one of the many reasons I don’t want kids). I’ve torn completely through all connective tissue in my hips which means I sometime need to use a cane, especially if I’m doing a lot of walking.
So onto the story. A few weeks ago I was at a warehouse sale for a closing bookstore. Thousands of books all for $1 each, you can imagine my excitement! But the warehouse was chaotic and the “aisles” were so full I was struggling walking through them with my cane and not tripping over piles of books, so I set my cane on my cart at the end of the row, since the carts were too big to push down the aisles. I came back up toward my cart and see a kid (maybe 4 years old?) playing with a cane that looked like mine. I look down at my cart and sure enough, my cane is gone!
I very loudly say “Absolutely not!” and go take my cane back while I tell the kid “Not appropriate! You don’t take people’s things.” Suddenly the mom appears from around the corner with the rest of her litter of children and starts saying how “she’s just a kid” “she didn’t know” etc. and I just look at her and say “It’s your job to teach her, not mine.”
Of course she just stared at me like I’m the asshole.

2023.06.04 18:44 GreenAct7 what do I do about my social anxiety?
so i have a bit of a problem I'm a (25M) that is trying to improve my life financially, at the moment i currently work part time in the kitchen of a hospital in my city the hours are decent and the pay is decent and I've been working there for about 3 years. But lately I've been wanting to move on to something a bit better so I've found a pretty good warehouse job that pays weekly and has good benefits and hours.
and here's where the problem comes in i was born with very noticeable facial birth defects which have caused me problems pretty much my entire life. I was bullied pretty bad growing up and it lead to a bunch of mental issues from depression to severe social anxiety/fear of crowds(sometimes I stumble on my own words and struggle to look people in the eye sometimes) so whenever i go out i usually wear something like a cap or beanie to hide my deformities. it works well enough and my current hospital job never had a problem with it since I'm a kitchen staff member.
but the job i want doesn't allow any head wear and since it's a warehouse job there is going to be a lot of people there and this fills me with a lot of dread I'm worried if i go through with getting employed there it might trigger my anxiety and when that happens I'm usually a mess and since I'm a pretty tall guy(6'1) i stick out even more i just don't know what to do?

2023.06.04 18:33 Wanderlust063 Update: How I disposed of the ghost woman.
So this is an update on how I accidentally killed a ghost. If you want to know how I accidentally killed a ghost, you can find the story here: [
https://www.reddit.com/nosleep/comments/13zet02/help\_i\_accidently\_killed\_a\_ghost\_and\_i\_dont\_know/\].
Around 30 minutes after I made the original post, my coworker, Sunny, came down the basement stairs. Her mouth was agape as she saw the lifeless body of the ghost woman lying near the foot of the stairs. Her head had stopped bleeding the inky liquid, but her eyes were now a milky white color.
She stared at the horrific display before looking back up at me. I thought she would have been freaking out, seeing a dead woman on the floor, but her expression was more of dismay. She pinched the bridge of her nose and let out a sigh. "What happened?"
The coherent thoughts in my head that would have clarified everything came out as a jumbled mess from my mouth. "I-I was watching the tapes and sorting, and there were only two tapes left, so..." My rambly explanation was cut short by her accusatory shout, "So you watched the tape with the red strip!"
The conviction in her voice made my heart sink. I retorted as quickly as she had cut me off, "No! I said there were only two tapes. Of course, I would choose the one that I had to watch and not the one I wasn't supposed to!"
Sunny was taken aback by what I said. "So you're telling me the tape without the red strip caused this?"
"Yes! For crying out loud, she climbed out of the TV!" My voice cracked a bit after I finished my sentence.
Sunny breathed out a deep sigh and walked down the remaining steps, taking extra caution not to step into the black puddle of blood. She seemed to be investigating the scene, looking at the water that spilled out of the TV and ran down the TV cart.
"Where are her footprints?" the question caught me off guard.
"It dried up," I answered.
"In under 5 minutes?"
I stared at her, baffled. "What do you mean? I've been waiting for you for like an hour and a half."
"What? But I ran all the way here. 5 minutes," the sincerity in her voice was undeniable.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and looked at the time displayed. "See, it's 7:30. I called you at 6:30. Where were you at that time?" I spoke while raising my phone up to her.
Sunny's eyes started to widen as she raised her arm, pulling back the sleeve to reveal a very fancy-looking wristwatch. "The time is six past six," her voice quivered. I walked over to also look at her watch, and she was right. The time on her watch was six past six, six minutes past six o'clock. We both looked at each other in utter shock.
Behind us, we heard the sound of a loud static eruption. Both of our heads turned in sync to look at the television set where we heard the loud bang. The sight was captivating. I don't know how to describe it accurately, but the screen of the TV was overflowing with blue static, like smoke pouring out and floating up to the ceiling.
I found myself walking over to the television set and decided to see if I could stick my hand in. I have no idea why I thought of this idea, but I did. Astoundingly, my hand went through the TV. It felt cold and wet, with the sensation of bubbles clinging to my arm, as if I had stuck my hand into a large bucket of club soda. I pulled my hand out, drenched in the bluish water. I looked back at Sunny and saw that we were both thinking the same thing.
Now, if you had told me that I would be dragging the body of a ghost woman across a basement to force through a TV that looked like a portal to a watery dimension, I would have laughed and slapped you across the face. But, with the help of Sunny, we successfully dragged the corpse all the way to the television. Now came the part of dumping her body into the TV portal. We managed to get her head into the TV and were busy trying to maneuver her shoulder in as well.
We took a break when half of her torso was in the TV portal, only showing her backside. Pushing a fully-grown woman into a box TV-sized portal proved really tiring. After the break, we went back to work. Only this time, the ghost woman's hand twitched. I yelped as I saw her index finger slightly curl, and Sunny let out a bunch of startled curses.
Our screams grew as we saw the ghost start to reanimate. Her hand curled into fists, violently swinging as her legs kicked. Her ear-piercing wails came back full force, as if her skull being cracked on a bunch of stairs had merely paused it.
Now, for the second and hopefully final time, I acted out of sheer panic. I ran up to the television, grabbed her legs, and shoved her deeper into the TV portal. She beat my chest with her kicks and made my ears ring with her blood-curdling screeches, but I refused to let up. I finally got her all the way through the TV as quickly as humanly possible. I yanked the cords linking the TV to the VHS player. Finally, her wails were cut short as the TV showed static.
For good measure, I also took the VHS out of the player and tossed it back into the box. I looked back at Sunny, who remained frozen, her hand covering her mouth as her eyes widened. For a long while, she imitated a statue. She finally spoke after a while, "Hey, um..."
"Yeah?" I said, perking my ears.
"We're not gonna say anything, right?"
"I wasn't planning on it."
She returned to her animated state, and we both walked out of the basement, climbing the stairs. "Are we gonna clean up the blood?" I asked from behind.
"I'll do it later tonight. But how did you kick a ghost?"
"I don't know. I either have a superpower, or it was just a really shitty ghost."
Sunny chuckled at the remark as we left the basement, now entering the warehouse. She stopped before turning around and flashing the light almost in my eyes. "Um... Are you gonna quit?" the question was a bit out of the blue but considering what happened, probably not totally unexpected.
"Maybe. I mean, other than what just happened today, this job is pretty sweet," my response seemed to ease her as she gave a light smirk. I then asked her, "You gonna quit?" She immediately retorted, "Oh god no. Where else would I go, retail?" I laughed at her response to my question, and we walked back to the front of the store. The manager saw me appear and walked down to greet me.
"Hello, new employee. How was your shift as an archivist?" The manager flashed his perfect row of teeth and smirked at me. "It went well," I responded, a bit nervous.
"Good, good. Did you watch all the VHS tapes as required?"
"Yes, sir, but there was one with a red strip that I didn't watch."
"Oh, yes, how fantastic. Now..." the manager pulled something out of his pocket, still maintaining eye contact. "Here is your bonus. Spend it on something good." He gave me a light slap on the shoulder before walking back to his office.
I looked down at the $20 bill in my hand. All that for $20. I can at least buy a couple of tubs of ice cream with this money. I grabbed my things and left the store, saying goodbye to Sunny as I walked out.
I am now typing this story in the comfort of my apartment, also with a half tub of ice cream on my lap. This might be my last post; I'm not really sure. I mean, some interesting things are bound to happen if I take the night shift, right?

2023.06.04 17:57 imforgettingthisname Redwing supersole vs thorogood wedge sole for standing on concrete
I’m think about either some redwing 606 supersole 2.0 or thorogood moc toes for a new work boot. I’m pretty easy going on footwear it’s just a warehouse job. I’m standing/ walking around on concrete all day long so under foot comfort is my main concern. I’m leaning towards the thorogood because all I hear is they’re comfortable and the look of the wide wedge sole distributing my weight looks appealing for my use. The redwings I’m considering because of the marketed dual density sole which I’m thinking could be softer under my feet? Any thoughts from people with experience with either or both of these boots? 2023.06.04 17:15 kitleith Summer Jobs Seden
Hi, I was hoping to get out of the UK over summer by getting a summer job in Sweden for the next few months. This is just a super general post asking for any and all advice.
I'm Swedish on my mums side so am pretty familiar with the country but pretty crap at speaking the language (definitely not enough to use in place of work).
A few general questions I could do with advice on are:
What jobs could I be looking for as an English Speaker? I've worked pretty extensively in hospitality and have met some Brits in Stockholm and Copenhagen working in bars who only speak English. This would be ideal work for me but feels counter intuitive with such jobs being customer facing.
Where (geographically) is good to look for work? My initial thought was that one of the islands like Gotland or Öland would be a good starting place for specifically seasonal work (also a nicer environment to live in.) But perhaps it would be better to look in one of the major cities? I'm unsure - let me know.
Where/how can I search for jobs? Are there any particular jobs websites or directories that I should be looking at? Would you advise just flying over and handing out CV's to bars etc? Definitely finding it hard to know where to start ahaha.
Another things to consider is that I would have to sort out accommodation. So if I could find a job that came with accommodation or if anyone had advice on finding somewhere to live for just the summer months as well, that would be ideal.
Finally, does any of this sound viable or it is a complete non-starter? I know people start breaking for summer a bit earlier in Sweden than the UK so maybe I'm too late to make any of this work or maybe it's too difficult as someone who doesn't live in Sweden to begin with?
Any thoughts or pointers appreciated! Cheers and all the best.

2023.06.04 16:58 Pleasant_Freedom1480 Applying to retail stores out of state?
18 years old, working a retail job and gonna be moving to a new city this winter. I was wondering how difficult it would be to apply to stores such as CVS, Walmart or whatever it may be, while out of state? I can call and ask "hey I'm looking to move in this month, are you guys hiring / can I apply from now?" and then proceed from there. But I have a biggg list of cities and there's a bunch of stores, so I thought I'd get your guys' opinion first before doing anything. Thanks!

2023.06.04 16:02 BeleagueredTreasurer [UK] Will be getting laid off in the next 6 to 9 months. I am looking for a new Finance role but am having real problems with getting anything that isn't in Accounts Payable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Background: - 30 years old
- Currently working in a senior Accounts Payable role.
- On the autism spectrum
- Fully AAT qualified (MAAT), currently studying ACCA and due to sit my first Applied Skills exam in a few days.
I am making this post to both ask for some help/advice with finding a new job, and to get everything that's happened over the last fifteen months off my chest, because my experience has honestly been demoralizing to the point where I find myself no longer wanting to work in accountancy.
Recently, my employer announced that it was looking to outsource most of our department and make loads of people redundant.
To tell you the truth, this place has honestly been one of the worst employers I've ever worked for and I could be here all day writing a huge list of grievances but I'll summarize. It's a mix of things like low pay, a draconian annual leave policy (not even fairly enforced) where a whole 30% of the calendar year is strictly off-limits for booking holiday, abnormally high workloads, awful ERP systems that continually crash, having a massively high employee turnover rate, making loads of desperation hires who can't even do basic things in Excel and expecting me to train them on no additional pay, dangling further progression over me like a carrot on a stick, refusing to fund my further studies (there was a freeze on their study support scheme for a while, and it was relaunched right as layoffs were being announced), etc.
Also... on the subject of the desperation hires. I raised burnout issues nine months ago and instead of adopting any suggestions I made to ease my workload, they hired an under-qualified person to replace me, gave me the burden of training them, then moved me to a different list of suppliers, only to announce that they were hiring an entire small team of people to look after the work I used to do.
This is the fourth Finance role I've worked in and to tell you the truth, I hate working in AP. It's thankless, it reminds me of the days when I was a minimum wage phone monkey from all the hostility I got from suppliers, and it feels like an afterthought to many businesses. On top of this I'm sick of being continually pigeonholed into AP roles by every single recruiter I speak to and I feel like nobody else working in finance takes me seriously. Any time I actually go for a position outside of it I get flat-out rejected.
I grow weary of getting bombarded with calls by every recruitment agency under the sun, and them pushing roles that I don't want. Had a recruiter try to suggest a receptionist job to me recently...
The only two reasons I've stayed as long as I have are because I'm shackled to a lengthy notice period (6 weeks basically makes you unemployable, some people in my department are on worse) and because the redundancy package I'll receive if I stay the full 6 - 9 months before being laid off is surprisingly generous to the point where it's making me consider whether to halt my job search temporarily.
My concern isn't necessarily the money. It's that I've worked for 2.5 years in Accounts Payable roles and want to move on to something more relevant to my qualifications. I've also had enough of coming home from work mentally and physically exhausted. My experiences are honestly making me reconsider whether I want to continue working in Finance or move to a different field entirely.
Put it this way, I didn't spend several years studying three levels of AAT and gaining my full accounting technician qualifications so that I could earn less than a warehouse worker...
How do you get out of being typecasted into Accounts Payable?

2023.06.04 15:54 Imaysin1666 Fucked up my life-update
| hello everyone, I am coming to you people in time of great need, I am a 2021 graduate from IP University, Delhi. I wasted precious initial years of my career formative years in my dream pursuit of an Airforce Officer Role. even Cleared SSC-CGL for GST Inspector in 2021 but didn't follow through with it, finally Cracked AFCAT in February with 5-day SSB in Varanasi in April. but sadly eliminated on the 5th day. the experience of the whole selection process and the type of candidates they were screening really disheartened me. really showed me I'm not the type of guy who'll do well in these environments. I have shot myself in the face now as I am not able to even get a revert for any interview, most probably due to my year gap. have applied to so many jobs probably around 700. I asked the subreddit for help around a week back many people gave great tips on my crappy resume especially u/cthulhulalala, u/nerdfantasy, u/perfectlyperfect22 , u/aravind3y thanks to all of you. after redoing my resume and taking there suggestions still I'm finding no luck and here I am begging for referrals for any job opening/ any internship. I am very desperate right now. I just cant waste another year like this, my parents are supportive and we are financially stable but just cant waste anymore of my life, am 26 now. I have intermediate coding skills in C++,Python (Able to clear WITCH Assessment & interview nothing more), DSA added as buzzword. experience includes an internship as a server support intern using HPOMI & a Contractual gig at Amazon as a TRON associate training their warehouse AI (minimal coding with gamified interface, nothing too special). currently pursuing a google IT Automation With Python Course from Coursera. even though a referral would be most appreciated, help with anything you can, any tips, suggestions etc. submitted by Imaysin1666 to developersIndia [link] [comments] |
2023.06.04 15:23 lewnworx SlowplayTS2WW has a few openings
Hi all.
As we head into season 3, we’ve got a few openings.
While a top 10 union (3rd and 6th for the last two seasons) we are a bit different than the others.
We don’t have weekly minimums. We don’t kick for not hitting specific goals. We don’t dictate what you do or how often you check in.
We’ve been around since long before Unions 2.x came into being. Most of us have long since figured out that XP is not your friend in this game, and so we tend to look at the long game.
We’ve got extensive tools we’ve developed to help you plan out your progression in the game.
Planning on moving to a new region? Want to have enough cash and parts to outfit 3 sets of event locos and union locos and have enough warehouse to accommodate all those trade mats and event mats and want to know what that will take?
Our tools will tell you exactly what any given build needs to have, and further just exactly to the day how long it will take to get you there.
That was the original goal of the union, to apply solid math to the game in order to get to where ever you wanted to go most efficiently.
We developed a metric in house we call the “Murphy Index” which is a real good measure of your build’s ability. The short version is you take the first 3 significant digits of your VP score and divide that by your level. A value less than one indicates you’ve leveled way too quickly and probably struggle with juggling warehouse non stop, have a difficult time completing jobs because your fleet has holes, etc.
A Murphy index > 1 means your in pretty decent shape. Most of our folks are well over 1, but weren’t there originally. Like many of us, I screwed up my first couple regions horribly. It wasn’t until I was in the US with a 4K WH and a utterly craptastic fleet due to scrapping my prior regions that I hit my first event and realized the gravity of the errors. At that point my mindset changed completely. In the process of fixing that I encountered a number of folks who had either learned the same things, or were in the process of doing so, and thus SlowPlay was born.
So prior to unions 2.x we set about sharing everything we’d learned, every little trick and technique and nuanced thing one could apply to getting the most out of TS2. We had spreadsheets for everything. We analyzed the XP ROI for events, the most effective ways to acquire parts, any everything else imaginable.
As a result we collectively developed a set of best practices and rules of thumb to work from.
It just so happens that in doing so, you end up with a big warehouse, and a lot of maxed out locos, and you avoid XP like the plague. And THAT just happens to dovetail into unions 2.x really well, which gives us a very high SP output, and thus the rankings we have.
So if you’ve been struggling in a union that isn’t making much in terms of headway, and you get that this game is best played with patience, you may be a good fit.
IF interested, ping me (Mark Lewno) or Daniel MacKay on FB messenger, or on Telegram (@LewnWorx, @Riptidy). We’d love to hear from you.

2023.06.04 15:23 McSpicyPotatoeBoi I hate my job but I can't quit even if I wanted to!
I work in a fulfillment warehouse that's fully manual labor and no not the one where they have robots helping. I'm 28 my body is breaking down my bones hurt 24/7, my tendons pulse, my eyes burn from the bright led lights they installed, I had a back injury a couple years ago that's still a problem they haven't resolved (I was sent to their physical therapists and they told me I was faking it even though I physically couldn't lift 30 pounds off the floor). The only plus is that I work 12hrs a day 3 days a week and have 4 days off. I can't leave because it is literally the only place around paying a livable wage but now I'm also almost living paycheck to paycheck again. I am in the worst place mentally, physically, and financially. I have no other experience other than warehouse work and I want out I want a job away from people! You would not believe me if I told you the people I work with are the scum of the earth bottom of the barrel people think all those people who cut people off in traffic, don't use their turn signal, ride your bumper, high beams on, not stopping at a stop sign.. I just don't know what to do, I don't think I can do anything, I don't believe in myself, I feel like I'm just stuck like my purpose in life is just to suffer. What do I do?

2023.06.04 15:12 geleisen Is it worth it/necessary to pay for someone to write a CV?
I am about to start looking for a new job and I have heard a few people say that most big companies run CVs through automated systems and you need to have special keywords, etc. in order to have your CV looked at by a human. Is this true or is this just good marketing to get people to pay for unnecessary services?

2023.06.04 14:25 Brokeandskilless Just got a studio apt after being a homeless runaway for 6 years. What to do now?
-Ran away from home at 19 to leave an unsafe and unstable family.
- 6 years living in homeless shelters, sleeping on couches, sleeping outside, sleeping in my car, moving to different states.
slept outside of a bank whilst having a part-time job. Saved for a car. Got a full-time job with my part-time job, slept in my car. Got a roomshare. Then saved enough money to get myself a (high) security deposit for a studio apartment. Lease agreement and everything. This is my first official stable living environment.
- All I have are basic toiletries, clothes, my basic documents, Chromebook laptop, and foldable cot that I sleep on.
- But have been in my studio for a couple weeks and is easily happiest and most stable I have felt in a while.
- Im in my mid 20's. I have a high school diploma, dropped out of college and have no degrees. All my work experience is either retail or warehouse.
Any advice for me? Can range from home living, to finances, to getting into a career, or anything. Im really open to any advice. Just grateful for the situation Im in now.

2023.06.04 14:22 kodabear22118 Powerful job promotion spell
My boyfriend works for UPS in the warehouse doing pre load. He doesn’t get many hours, only like 15 to 20 a week since they don’t need them for long. He also has been getting sent home early at times when volume is low. He is trying to get a part time position as a driver and is 3rd in line to get qualified. He was told that should have happened back in February but it didn’t. I plan to do a road opener spell but also want to do a really powerful job promotion spell so he can get this position asap. I already got a figure candle for him and have access to his dna if needed. Is there any good way for me to increase the power and intensity of this spell to ensure he gets this job within the next month?

2023.06.04 13:14 Lets_Make_A_bad_DEAL I just saw a self check-out pop up in my Wawa
I have a wildly popular old-fashioned style wawa, meaning while the facade isn’t the wooden brown style and matches the strip mall, it’s still not a super wawa. It’s so trafficked and popular, and there’s really no room for a super wawa in the over-developed area. So I doubt they want to close this location.
That said.
I hate the new self-checkout. It’s ugly, clunky, takes up space (like when Seinfeld’s remodeler guy put cabinets up on his kitchen island) and blocks the view.
It also is going to take away jobs. I remember when the touchscreens arrived at the deli counter and I don’t recall feeling this way about those. This just feels icky.
Do you work at Wawa? Are you sad about possibly having one less person on your shift one day? It will happen eventually, I promise you. Look at CVS it’s a ghost town when you need someone there. They used to have multiple cashiers daily, plus a photo lab tech.

2023.06.04 08:09 taterthot1618 Professionalism and CVs
Hello! 👋 My boyfriend and I are working on applying to jobs in Vietnam, starting this week. Before we do this, we are sorting out our CVs and cover letters.
I am a qualified English teacher with a 4-year Education degree specializing in English language. I have 6 years of experience in the industry.
My boyfriend is a graphic designer and photographer and holds a 3-year bachelor degree in the above field, he has a 180-hour TEFL course certification and has 7 years experience.
He is designing our CVs from scratch, to suit our specific aesthetic wants. I have some questions regarding what Vietnamese schools might look for in a CV/what is considered professional:
• He is holding a chihuahua in his head shot, it is a professional and very striking photo. Would this be considered strange to a Vietnamese recruiter?
• My CV is working with a colour palette of pink and grey, are there better colours I could choose that recruiters might find more appealing or make my CV stand out more?
• What are some specific categories in CVs that recruiters look at?
• Is there any way we can strengthen our chances/make our CVs stand out from the rest?
Thank you so much, this subreddit is a godsend.

Two of the most complained about features weapon durability and loving skirmishes I think work perfectly to make you feel the desperation of the characters the point where you lose skirmishes is right after you lose your base and are fleeing across country for your life so to low those skirmishes maintains continuity in the story and for me increased my overall immersion. The game always warns you prior to this happening so you can prepare before Hand if you need to but I went through the whole game and with hardly doing any skirmishes except the one warehouse skirmish that was an extra map with extra weapons to get. And yeah some of my weapon broke and by the last map I was running low on weapons and barely had any money which is perfect reflection on the situation your characters are actually in. Despite that it actually really hard to completely run out of weapons to use unless you constantly try to only use the top tier weapons which will drain your money way to fast. The maps themselves do a great job of making you feel both extremely powerful and up against the ropes at the same time. The story was not the best but the cut scenes were pretty good and reasonably enjoyable if your looking for a challenging strategy rpg that requires actual tactical planning and forethought this game is really good I’d give it a 8/10 I hope it gets a sequel because I love the gameplay

2023.06.04 07:24 mannawar CV Joint Replacement
Hi everyone, wanted to see what advice anyone had regarding replacing/servicing front CVs.
My outboard driver's side CV boot is cracked and has leaked most of the grease. The boot isn't torn so I imagine the CV is still pretty intact. It's a 2007 with 190K on it, so I'm expecting that all the boots are dried out and ready to fail. Having done some research, I feel like I have a couple of options.
- Just replace the CV boots. Cost in parts is almost the same price as aftermarket CV half shafts. The whole job will be a pain in the ass too.
- Replace the CV shafts. This is a no-brainer, but the problem is deciding what shafts to buy. I have a couple of options but here's where the research comes in. The cheap CV shafts (~$80 each) are reported as lousy quality, don't last a long time, and cause unwanted vibration. OEM CV shafts are $300 each, which I can afford, but feels excessive. I found some OE spec shafts which have the balance dampners that are $120 each, which seems like a decent gamble.
I'm planning to do the job myself. Having watched a few YouTubes, it looks easy enough. I'm planning to unbolt the hub and knuckle from the strut but keep the ball joint attached.
What's anyone's experience replacing CV joints with aftermarket shafts?

2023.06.04 05:57 friedpickles_22 struggling with internship
I’m an intern with one year left of school to earn my bachelors. I’ve had an internship before, but it was fully virtual and I didn’t get much experience so this is my first real exposure to working an IE job.
I’m working in a warehouse and I was asked to help work on various ergonomic problems with some of the production lines. My boss is the head of health and safety, nearing retirement, and not an engineer. He’s not hands on and there isn’t anyone else in the warehouse working on the project.
I am struggling to figure out if I was thrown into the deep end with unrealistic expectations, or if I’m just overreacting and I need to rise to meet the challenge. The problem is that the glaringly obvious issue with the production lines is a lack of height adjustable workstations. I’ve spent my first week observing the lines and speaking with a bunch of the workers and that is the number one problem and complaint. The machinery on the workstations is heavy and the adjustable tables needed to support the weight are incredibly expensive. The idea has already been proposed and shot down because of costs. I don’t really know where else to go with the project and it’s hard for me to understand the production process because it’s incredibly technical and takes multiple months of training to be an operator. I’m only here for ten weeks and I’m not qualified or allowed to actually work on the lines so the best I can do it observe which I feel isn’t enough to fully get an idea of what needs to be improved.
At the end of my ten weeks I’m expected to give a project presentation in front of senior executives and honestly I’m not sure that the project I’ve been given is something I’ll be able to help on. I feel like I’ll be walking into the presentation with nothing and I’ll embarrass myself. I feel like I’m being treated as an experienced consultant and I’m just being left of my own with no guidance. I’m not sure what to do moving forward. Worst part of all of this is that I was interviewed and hired to be a supply chain intern in an office and somehow I’ve ended up working on ergonomics in a warehouse so this is not at all what I was expecting of this summer.
Any help would be appreciated. I’m really struggling with imposter syndrome here.
