We WhatsApp now, I for the most part initiate (well alot because I generally don't shut up with people I like) but she prefers video calling me and we spend 3/4 hours talking, even if it's just doing mundane chores and stuff...
Seriously this women makes my cheeks flush when I think about her, I get a little heated and embarrassed. As the title says I’ve absolutely lost myself. I use to try to pump myself up for the “new Version” of myself but this time I just can’t. Long story short (realistically it’s just an info dump): I had a traumatic childhood to say the least (my bio dad use to have fun bouncing my head off the concrete, step dad did the same emotionally and mentally, and my mother was a drug addict in denial about it all) So I was left to raise my younger sister in the absence of all the “adults” In my teen years I grew extremely angry and bitter at the world. I got into a lot of trouble and tried to kill myself 4 times. I had a kid pretty young and her mother took off right after she was born. Left me as a single parent. Then just a long list of me trying to be a man worthy of a loving child however I’ve kept the bad luck. I tried to rekindle a relationship with my mother and family but…it’s just wasn’t working. Enter my current relationship. She’s bipolar, has BPD, and ptsd. Thought I could be her rock foundation she could count on always. She cheated on me twice right off the bat and then constantly has an episode and leaves me and wants either her ex or just someone new. This has gone on for 5 years. 5 years of nights where I’m told she doesn’t love me. 5 years of being told if I would just change maybe the world would be kinder to me. 5 years of her ensuring all my friends and family were removed from my life. She even caused so much drama at my job I was fired however then she went to school for a degree knowing we couldn’t afford the daycare anymore so I’m taking care of the kids, still a year and a half later. Every time I get a job offer she flys off the handle and says I just want to leave her or want someone else. So I’m put in a spot where it’s the job or the relationship. Really looking at it all idk why I have even stayed this long. She never wants to work on anything. It’s always if it’s that bad just leave then. I never get to leave the house but she goes to school and gets to hang out with her best friend. We haven’t had any intimacy (both sexual and just standard quality time) in months.
So now I’ve felt guilty because I have no one but I’m just so done with her abuse idc about her at all. She still gives me empty promises then gets mad cause I’m emotional less any more. To add to it I can’t find joy in anything anymore. I use to love cooking, video games, reading, sitting outside, walking my dog, etc. now none of it makes me happy. Nothing does. I hate myself more and more every day. I’ve lost everything that has made me well me. I have no one and idk how to get out of whatever this is. I’m sleeping more, eating less, and finding myself on autopilot daily. I can’t stand any of it. Pain I thought I healed from is back in full force accompanied by all this new stuff. Idk. I literally have no one other than her and my kids so maybe I just needed to say this. To someone, anyone.

Hi, about 1 year ago I adopted my first cat, Momo (F). She was in a shelter and appartenty beating up all the other cats all the time so the caretaker was glad she could live on her own, even if I work and live alone.
Before she went to the shelter she belonged to a grandma, who lived alone, she had no access to go outside. Unfortunately it was not possible to take her to the retirement home. She is vaxxed and neutered.
So here we are now. I love Momo a lot, but I have to admit that lately it has become a bit of a struggle.
I made a catio on the balcony, but since two weeks she tried to escape it and succeeded once. Luckily she was just exploring the flowers below and I could get her quickly. I secured it completely now, but now she is complaining loudly no matter if in the catio, or if I leave the door closed.
To the point I am worried if the other tenants in the house are bothered by it so I don't want to leave her out there screaming all evening.
She was always very vocal, but she is really screaming a lot recently. Also she sometimes urinates outside of the litterbox (r.n. its the carpet in the living room)
I did a general checkup with bloodwork at the vet, no major issues found.
So I am wondering if she may just be unhappy. I do work 4 days a week so she is alone from 9-18 on these days. She is allowed to sleep on my bed, has access to pellets and running water all day + some wet food when I get home from work. Also 2 litterboxes (bathroom and hallway)
What I tried: Playing more with her, especially when she is complaining. Going outside with a leash (which she seems to enjoy, but didn't stop any of the issues) Ignoring the screams and rewarding her verbally and with cat paste when she stops. (This is very tough as she sometimes goes on for 10 minutes) I switched to saying a firm NO at her complaints and still reward her for stopping.
For the urinating outside I don't know what to do honestly. If its rare I can deal with it, at first it was just the bathroom rug, which dumbass me removed. At least it could easily be washed.
Any advice or suggestion appreciated! Sorry this got a bit long, but I try to give complete information.

Bur here we go To fully understand the story I'm giving you a bit of context first. I'm from India and here it is pretty common to live in joint families. I live with my grandparents, uncle and aunt and parents. Our house is built in a way where we have 4 houses in a common compound. It's like a duplex but each floor has different houses. So the story begins with when my maternal grandfather passed away. He passed due to cancer. My parents felt that since his passing my grandmother would be really alone in the house and hence asked me to say with her atleast during the night also considering the fact she is old too. My grandparents house is on the ground floor and it has 2 rooms
So the story begins here I'm a late night owl and I love to stay up till late hours in the morning and since I was in college it has become an habit. A few years since I started living with my grandmother I never has any weried experiences even when I used to stay up. I used to sleep in the same room as her and it was pretty fine. At some point few years later my elder sister too started accompanying me to sleep downstairs and considering how we both live to stay up, talk or watch we occupied the other room in the house. The fact about this other room is it wasn't used much as it was just my grandparents in the house. Fast forward to a year later I had my exams and I used to stay up for a full night to prep so I occupied the dining room and my sister was in the other room packing her stuff to go for a wedding the next day. Since I was sleepy and bored I got up washed my face all while talking to my sister about the wedding happening the next day. Mind that no one else apart from my grandmother, me and my sister were in the house and this was dead 2 in the morning. At some point of doing my skincare I went up to the door and continued conversing with my sister however while talking I saw my sisters face turn from having a normal expression to a horror. I didn't notice this in the beginning but when I observed my sisters face had turned pale. She looked horrified. I asked if something was wrong and why she would be staring at me that way. She then suddenly asked me to enter the room and shut the door. I was confused and kept asking her what is wrong and she being hesitant to say anything other than repeating me to come into the room and shut the door. At this point I thought she was messing with me and I played along too as I shut the door and sat down.
She then said the most horrific thing I have heard. She said she could see a shadow taller than me (I'm 5'10) behind me and she saw it stand behind me then walking past me. Even though she said all this I did not believe her at all I still thought she was messing around and asked her to stop messing with me. But in all honesty she said I'm not kidding or trying to scare you but it really happend.
Following a few days later we being ourselves were up at 3 in the morning doing our work, watching and stuff. By this time ny sister grew so apprehensive of the shadow incident she locked the room doors before sleeping. Anyway when we were working and laying on the bed we heard 3 knocks on the door. We assumed it is my grandmother asking us to sleep since it's already too late. I went to answer the door to tell her we were about to sleep and as I opened the door I didn't see her there it was just darkness. Assuming she knocked and went to use the washroom I went ahead to check there but she wasn't there either. Later I walked upto her room to check if she was awake but I found her in deep sleep and the next morning when we asked if she knocked on our door she said she was too tired and slept through the night.
At this point me and my sister grew more afraid of this. Following weeks and months things grew stranger and stranger. We would hear knocking and banging on the door between 2 and 3 in the morning and started having the most horrifying dreams we ever had regarding the room and the house. My sister was also being touched by whatever it was and things were so badly escalated it never ended.
Currently I do not sleep there anymore. There are a lot more stories these 2 are just the initial ones which we both experienced but individually and toghther we experienced a lot more. I will end this post with these 2 for now. I will definitely type the other stories shortly.

Yesterday I found out that my girlfriend (F/19) of exactly a year has lied to me (M/19) about her virginity and past experiences. I have big trust issues, we battled with them for a while, but at some point I really started believing that she loved me, everything was great, we even had sex for the first time ever. • Tried talking to my best friend about it, and he made it a dick measuring contest over who has the most trauma, told me that "every day is a mental health day for everyone", demanded I suck it up, then when I said that he wasn't helping, he said he didn't want to help and just wanted to yell at me, going as far as to say that he never cared about me or my feelings, leading to me having a mental breakdown and vomiting at work.
  
• Work gave me three days off. My dog fell off the couch and had four seizures, went limp in my arms, I thought she died. Somehow she got back up an hour later, but is unable to stand by herself now?
  
• Offered my best friend a drop of my sister's liquid weed my sister has for being so nice to me a few months ago since he has a medical card. He mistaken what I said and took the whole damn bottle home without telling me, even though he said he didn't want it.
  
• My sister asked me to get it back, but he started getting argumentative over it. She went over my head and contacted him directly. In the messages, he makes it clear he doesn't care about me anymore, complains that I talk to him about my problems too much, mocks me for having a mental health crisis, creates further dick measuring contest by saying his former meth addiction is worse than my future wife almost dying, threatens to call the cops on me and her, and then claims that my sister is being unfair to her despite his childish actions.

I've recently set up my new Intel 13th Gen laptop with intel AX210 WiFi card along with Windows 11, Ubuntu and Manjaro Linux distros. The reason I mention this is because the behaviour is the same on all. Not just Windows.
I seem to be having this odd ping issue whereby the default on my home network is taking 150 - 200 ms to complete. It is usually around the 15 - 20ms range. I thought there was an issue when it was taking Firefox an age to open the first web page. I also installed GeForce Now which I use ocassionaly and it's basically failing a basic test because of the extremely poor ping times.
To clarify, this does not impact any other device on my home network. In fact, I have my work laptop right beside this one and if I ping www.google.com from it, it's perfect. This new laptop consistently takes 150-200ms. I've tried manually setting DNS to no avail. I also tried the laptop from a friend's house and it was fine! It only seems to be this specific laptop in my home network and I can't puzzle it together.
Below is a basic example. If I ping 8.8.8.8, the ping response is normal however, if I ping www.google.com, the ping is poor. I ran a tracert command as well and rather oddly, if I ping www.google.com it seems to route through the US by default? I'm in the UK and I am not connected to a VPN. I normally use Quad9 for DNS, though I have tried Google and AdGuard. The result is the same.

So, I’m not young anymore and I have 15 years of experience in the design field, but I have done many things and I don’t know what my role really is now. I did UI design back in 2012 (first apps, what a strange time!) and over the years I oversaw small UX projects for the company I worked for. I have a graphic design BA and I worked as an editorial art director for a publishing house and a magazine. Then I worked as a brand director for an IT company. I went freelancing for 4 years as an illustrator and published for Vogue, Nature, etc. Almost two years ago I designed from scratch an AI-based app for no profit organisations (meaning wireframe, UI elements, graphic design, interactions, design system), developing also the idea, so I tried to focus on UX but with discouraging results for a career standpoint.
At this point, I can do everything but not at the deepest level even if I have been successful in every role. I know I’m not the super specialised figure recruiters and companies look for. So, despite my experience, I am not the person they love to offer a position to. I also feel a fraud when it comes to UX, because even if I took courses, designed and everything else, I am convinced I don’t have what it takes to be a good UX designer.
Any advice?

Bit of backstory: my wife gave birth at the end of 2020 and subsequently a few months later found out she had a sarcoma and needed chemo and surgery. My father (65), who lives in a different county (we’re both in England) on his own in my old childhood home, was extremely willing to come down and live in with us until she recovered and help with childcare.
Fast forward to a year and a half and although my wife had complications, she’s now almost completely recovered, but now my father has admitted his complete inability to look after himself at home. He had disability pay for his depression and anxiety preventing him from leaving the house on his own for prolonged periods (which apparently had worsened), but due to missing his PIP review this has now stopped.
My wife and I travelled down on our own (he was too anxious about returning home) and discovered the house in general disarray with rubbish everywhere, a significant water leak causing the basement floor to be partially flooded with a giant tree outside in the well (it’s a townhouse) absorbing most of it. He also hadn’t opened his mail for ten or so years, electing to instead pile them up.
Right off the bat we’ve turned the water off, put a dehumidifier in and started cleaning up the place. I took the mail home and spent 2 days going through the mail and discovered that he has:

• An unpaid homeowner loan with ~£15k in arrears, with ~£70k outstanding in total
• His Personal Independence Payment has stopped as he did not submit a form
• Has ~£1k outstanding debt with the water company; presumably for the large amount of water that has leaked
• An outstanding debt with HMRC for ~£5k for not submitting a Self-Assessment (although for as long as I can remember, he hasn’t been self-employed?)

Obviously he doesn’t have the money to pay any of this, and I’m concerned that they will try and repossess his house. In the long term, I’m actually considering sale of the house and using the money to buy us all something bigger (My wife & I’s house isn’t equipped to deal with all of us!) but I suspect that any sale would result in the homeowner loan debt being taken from it. In the short term I’d like to get my dad back on PIP and ideally leaving in a home nearby where he can come visit us and his Grandson.
What are the best steps here to progress? My wife has mentioned power of attorney in order to alleviate the stress of having to get my dad to permit me to speak on behalf, but I’ve not spoken to any of these companies yet as I’m not sure what I need to say and how to progress.

i feel so alone. i have no one, i feel like i cant speak to anyone about this because well, im not open about my feelings, it was how i was raised. but its pushing so far, its many reasons but i think its mostly because of me beib assaulted recently, which wasn’t the furst time. but beyond feeling so alone i cant breathe, i cant even sleep at night anymore, and if i do its always the same… ill either havve a dream about being raped again or ill wake up panicking. not to mention how bad my anxiety is, im literally so damn anxious to leave my house, to talk to a man. my fear of men has increased a few levels, im not even sure i feel safe with anyone anymore. i just wish i had someone, i feel so alone in this, i have nobody and in afraid ill do something to harm myself. i have a long pst of self harm, but i probably wont do it but im just afraid i might because its too hard and that always made me feel better. but im 2 months clean now, i dont wanna start over with my progress, but i dont wanna feel like this. pain inflicted on myself always released this feeling, but soon gives off a huge amount of shame and guilt. i dont even know what im saying, i just needed to get this out of my system.. i just need everything to stop, to end.
this post isnt really for anything but to get out of my system, and i guess to keep me from ruining my 2 month clean streak..
