Two weeks ago I applied and was called that same day for an interview for a part time merchandise associate. They scheduled it for last Wednesday, and it seemed to go really well. They told me to let my references know they'd be calling, which they did on last Friday. All three said the calls went well.
I haven't heard back since, and I wondered if that's normal? Should I assume they aren't interested and move on?
I've been a stay at home mom for 15 years so it's been a long time since I've gone through the hiring process anywhere, and I'm having a hard time finding anywhere to even call back after applying even when they say they're hiring. I was pretty excited to hear back from them at all but getting a little disappointed again.
If this is normal, any tips on what to expect next would also be appreciated! Thanks so much.

I am allergic to my tattoo, why I am getting it removed. I did 8 sessions with a lady that removed my friend's tattoo and it is completely gone. I did 8 sessions with her, and my tattoo barely faded. I attributed it to the fact I'm allergic and my body is trying to force it out, instead of absorbing it. I found another removal place with a different laser (found out later the other is a lightening laser, instead of the pico), we did a test with the pico. During the end of the lightening laser I started having really bad general swelling all over. I had a test spot with the pico and had an appt with my doc about the swelling. I got given lasix for swelling, and bloodwork up. My liver enzymes were elevated, just slightly. We decided to wait six weeks and retest my bloodwork. In that six weeks I had a full session of the pico. When my bloodwork came back my liver enzymes were 5 times higher than they were. Currently, have had a slew of tests, including a lover ultrasound showing that my liver is enlarged and very dense. However, we retested my liver enzymes and they are going down (haven't had a other removal session). What we are thinking (me and the doc) is that for some reason (probably the allergy or maybe I had liver scarring), the tattoo is damaging my liver. Has anyone ever heard of this, or had this happen? If so, what did you/what was do/done? I'm allergic to this tattoo, keeping it isn't really an option. It is large. I'll post before and after pics.

I see my pain doctor next Friday, and my refill date will be 18th. I don’t have enough. To get me until my refill, if I keep taking them to actually get pain relief. He prescribed 3x Oxy 10 mg. And it is not enough even remotely.. I have to cut one in half and make it 15 MG 3x a day… and that will last me six hours maybe. I’m taking around 4 1/2 to 5 pills a day. I have been calling the doctors office every day for the past week and ask for permission from the doctor, but I haven’t heard anything back. I set aside 24 pills because that’s how much I should have on my appointment day. I understand that they have strict rules and you have to take medicine exactly prescribed. But what I supposed to get a month of no pain relief. Because I had absolutely no relief with 10mg… 15mg I get so much I don’t know why. I will go the next week with no pain relief, but I had a great last two weeks. I’m going to ask him to increase it to 15MG 4x a day. Which I know I doubt he will do.

I work in a restaurant (as a sommelier but my true love is cocktails) and we do beverage classes every Tuesday. Staff members have the opportunity to present topics of their choice/passion for about an hour.
I decided I wanted to do one on martinis and got the go ahead to design a training from my beverage director.
It took me a while but I’m pretty happy with the result and I wanted to share. It’s not original research but compiled from different sources into a writeup with some personal opinion/speculation and some fun photos.

So, I took an attempt to find out more information about the interpretation of Muhammad Asad on the verse of awrah. As this mentions quotations from early scholars about dependence on social views women's veil, which is one of our core point of contradiction with the conservative community.
I will start off by the footnote Asad has put:

My interpolation of the word "decently" reflects the interpretation of the phrase illa ma zahara minha by several of the earliest Islamic scholars, and particularly by Al-Qiffal (quoted by Razi), as "that which a human being may openly show in accordance with prevailing custom (al-'adah al-jariyah)". Although the traditional exponents of Islamic Law have for centuries been inclined to restrict the definition of "what may [decently] be apparent" to a woman's face, hands and feet--and sometimes even less than that--we may safely assume that the meaning of illa ma zahara minha is much wider, and that the deliberate vagueness of this phrase is meant to allow for all the time-bound changes that are necessary for man's moral and social growth. The pivotal clause in the above injunction is the demand, addressed in identical terms to men as well as to women, to "lower their gaze and be mindful of their chastity": and this determines the extent of what, at any given time, may legitimately--i.e., in consonance with the Qur'anic principles of social morality--be considered "decent" or "indecent" in a person's outward appearance

Here is what Al Razi said about what is permissible to show:

Al-Qaffal said the meaning of the verse is whatever a person reveals in his usual habits and tasks, and that is the face and palms for the women, and for the men the face, hands and feet. so the men and women were ordered to cover what necessity does not lead to revealing it and were given permission to reveal what they used to reveal out of necessity since the laws of Islam are easy. And since the appearance of the face and hands is a necessity for women no wonder the scholars agreed that they are not awrah.

However, he later says,

It is permissible to look at the adornment of her face, such as tattoos and dimples, and the adornment of her body, such as pigments, rings, and clothes. The reason for the permissibility of looking at her is that it is embarrassing because the woman must handle things with her hands and the need to uncover her face in testimony, trial and marriage.

These are not translated by me. First one is from another reddit post, second one is by google. The phrase he used which is actually mentioned by Asad is this: العادة الجارية

And the word الجارية means ongoing, current (https://dictionary.reverso.net/arabic-english/%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AC%D8%A7%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%A9)
So, as a phrase it may mean - (body parts) that are taken to be normal currently, ongoing tradition. Asad has put it as "prevailing custom" which definitely matches up.
Al Razi actually mentions two points to determine what can be shown. First he quotes Al Qiffal, whatever a person reveals according to what is taken to be usual currently. Then, Al razi himself mentions whatever is needed to reveal considering necessity. It's important to note that Al Qiffal didn't bring the topic of necessity. He only talked about the norm of that time.
Now, about the part Al Razi wrote later, it sounds like he was not taking it that way. Once again, it's important to note, he actually wrote why other scholars allowed the face and hands to be shown. He didn't contradict the topic of prevailing custom.
Echoing his reasoning, If it's hard to work(not impossible) with hands covered, it can be said that working with a head covering is also hard(not impossible). Thus, if someone finds it difficult, she can easily take it off.
Thus, I think, both Al Qiffal and Al Razi had an opinion that aligns with our current view on Hijab.
Still one more topic to go, Asad mentioned there are more early scholars with this view. I have no information on them. So, that can be another research topic.

Hey there! Looking for some help with bills and also to establish some more credit on this sub. I borrowed once before about a year ago and it was paid back on time and in full. Search my username in the sub for confirmation.
So, my student loans recently went up (again, grrr) and I’m in-between a long stretch of paychecks. My company pays “twice a month” instead of bi-weekly, so that means I sometimes go 2 1/2 to 3 weeks without a paycheck. This, combined with my student loans, has me out of money until next Friday. I just need some extra cash to help cover some bills until my next paycheck. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I assure you will be paid in full on June 9. In the Buster Keaton film "College" (1927), we get a shot of our hero played by Keaton moving into his dorm room. The room is decorated with several signs. "Abandon hope all ye who enter here" (a reference to Dante's Divine Comedy), "Don't spit. Remember the great flood" (a reference to Noah and the ark I guess) "Don't smoke. Remember the Chicago fire" (a reference to the great Chicago Fire with Mrs. O'Leary's cow and whatnot) and finally a sign that reads:
