Welcome back for the Tenth season of Survivor! Wow, it’s crazy we have hit a milestone number, and the support for the seasons has been great. Thank you to everyone who has submitted a character to my seasons! This season we are bringing 16 survivors to Chile! This season will be full of twists and turns, and with the newest addition of immunity idols, you never know who is safe and who could be going home. 39 days, 16 castaways, 1 Sole Survivor!

This is probably a very unpopular opinion and I can see why. Some songs very drastically in quality. It was their first album, and Their albums after this are for the most part better produced, but this album just has a special place in my heart. It was the first album of them I've ever heard, and it was the first album that actually got me into the death/growly type vocals. Scumgrief is still my favorite song ever as crazy as that probably is. Demanufacture is a very close second for me though and I love or like all of their albums (even digimortal).

This is a new trope (I think), which has happened at least three times in recent memory (Matrix Resurrections, Fast X, and Across the Spider-verse).
Each time I have trouble deciding whether it is a clever comment on the current state of the film industry or whether it's simply the laziest way for filmmakers to access the audience's nostalgia for previous entries in the franchise.
Are there any other times this has happened? Seems like something the LeBron Space Jam would've done, but I refuse to re-watch it to check.
Which future movies are going to employ this device? If Indy 5 really does involve time travel, are we going to spend five minutes watching old Indy watch the events of Raiders? Or maybe we'll get to see the Flash struggling to get through the Snyder Cut.

I need to get more focused on making prospecting calls everyday. If you're self-employed or a business owner, you know we can't survive without new clients.
I used to be very good, making 2-8 appointments a day. But after hitting multiple bumps on the road the last few years, I'm barely making 1-2 a week. Your issue doesn't need to be the same as mine, but we should be aiming for the same goal: personal business growth!
If you're an entrepreneur who's interested in something similar, hit me up. I'd like to schedule a 5-10mn call at the end of everyday. We talk about what we did, how it went, and what we're planning tomorrow.

Like a lot of people on here I got a lot of comfort from reading other peoples birthing stories, so I thought I’d go ahead and write mine out and post it in the hopes it’ll help someone.
My OB didn’t want me to reach 42 weeks, so once I hit 41 they began trying to schedule me for an induction at the hospital. When I got home from my 41 week OB appointment, I got a call from my OB saying to head into the hospital ASAP because she had managed to get me scheduled for an induction that evening. I was out on a walk with my husband and he literally ran home to get the car and pick me up. It was so surreal driving to the hospital, we were so nervous my husband and I didn’t even really talk. It was happening!
When we got there around 7pm however, the nurses at the intake area had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. I think when the shift changed over they forgot to inform the overnight staff I was coming in. Which is fine! Mistakes happen, but y’all they were so rude. They acted like I was lying and trying to trick them into inducing me. It didn’t matter how many times I explained my OB had called and told me to come in, they clearly didn’t believe me and were just so overtly passive aggressive.
Eventually they agreed to admit me for an ‘assessment’ (not an induction). They left me hooked up to some monitors for 3 hours without checking in while they tried to get ahold of my OB and get things figured out. I could hear them trash talking me in the hallways and complaining about me coming in ‘for no reason’. It hurt my feelings so much and made me so angry that I actually started having real contractions while I was there. My husband is convinced they offended me into labor.
Eventually they did contact my OB. I guess she told them why I was there and that I wasn’t lying because they were MUCH nicer to me after that. They told me I was all scheduled to be induced at 7AM the next morning and to come back by 6:30AM. By this point my contractions were actually pretty bad, but I was terrified if I told them that they’d keep me for longer. I didn’t want to be subjected to any more passive aggressiveness, so I lied and said I couldn’t even feel them. I just wanted to go home, I felt so defeated. I didn’t want to be in a vulnerable state around these hostile people.
We got back home by 11PM and my contractions were really bad. I didn’t wind up sleeping at all. To me they didn’t feel like period cramps. I felt them more in my back and lower abdomen. They felt like Braxton hicks, except painful and coming in waves. I started timing them around midnight and by 2AM they were 4-1-1. The app I was using kept telling me to go the hospital, but I was worried that if I went in before my appointment I’d be placed under the care of the same nurse. I was hoping she’d be gone by 7. I alternated reclining in a rocking chair and taking a shower to deal with the contractions. The shower actually really helped. I kept reminding myself that my body knew how to do this and to do what felt right. And that it was okay that it hurt because it wasn’t permanent. The breaks in between contractions were great, I used them to reposition myself or have some water and repeat my mantra.
I made it through the night. My husband was mad I didn’t wake him up and get him to take me to the hospital sooner, but we headed in for my appointment. And the staff from the previous night was gone! (Yay!) When my new nurse (who was an angel) checked me she said I was 4cm and fully effaced. She suggested the OB could break my water to speed things along and I agreed, but asked to get an epidural first. I had heard from moms on here that everything gets a lot worse after the water breaks and I was already at a 6-7/10 pain.
The anesthesiologist was a pro and worked around my contractions. When he got it placed I felt almost immediate relief, but experienced two things I didn’t expect. Number one was my body sort of panicked because I went completely numb below the waist and my lizard brain thought something was wrong/I was going to die. I really had to logic my way out of thinking that. Which was difficult because I found instincts sort of take over during labor. Number two was I only went numb on my left side. I could still mostly feel my right. I’d heard from other moms on here that could happen, but the anesthesiologist told me if I lay on the side that hurt and hit the button for an extra boost it should seep over into the right side and numb that up too. And it worked! So please if you’re still feeling pain on one side give that a try if you can.
My labor did stall after the epidural so they gave me some pitocin and I just napped for most of the day. My wonderful nurse moved me around and positioned me with the peanut ball. Around 3:30PM she put me in a position called the flying cowgirl and within 10 mins I felt this horrible pain on my right side that turned out to be transition pain. I used the anesthesiologist’s trick and lay on my right and hit the button for a boost.
Before the epidural kicked in (and it did!) I was writhing around so much that my husband called the nurses in even though I kept telling him not to because I thought it was just another contraction. Good thing he did because when they checked me, they said my baby was +3 and coming out now.
It was so surreal. Even though I’d known I was giving birth that day, to know it was happening right now was bizarre. A bunch of people came into the room and my poor nurse who had been with another patient down the hall literally ran in. She called my OB to tell him to get over here and then helped me practice push. By this point I wasn’t in pain anymore, but I could feel the contractions, they just felt like a lot of pressure. I pushed for just under an hour (it felt like much less) and he was born by 4:30!
The pushing wasn’t bad, it just felt like a lot of pressure. It took a bit to figure out how to push, but the nurses coached me really well and gave me great feedback. I did have a 2nd degree tear, but it of course didn’t hurt at the time and within 4-5 days it didn’t really hurt at all. I know it is cliche, but the minute they put your baby on your chest you no longer care about any pain or if you tore. It didn’t really feel real until I was holding him, but once I was it was so immediately worth it. It’s also cliche, but for me (who was lucky with an uncomplicated delivery) the memory of the pain and nausea faded very quickly. I’m just over a week out and I’m already thinking it really wasn’t so bad. Your body knows what it’s doing and you’re just along for the ride. It is 1000% worth it and you are capable of doing it. Even if it seems abstract now, everything clicked for me once I was holding him. And now that I have him I can’t imagine not having him. Even though I admit that I didn’t feel any particular connection to him in the womb.
I personally found a lot of comfort in not really having a birthing plan. My only plan was get an epidural and then trust the medical staff who see this stuff every day to make the right calls for me and baby. Which is why I was so upset with that first nurse because I didn’t feel like I could trust her to advocate for me. So please don’t be afraid to request a different nurse/staff if you are feeling uncomfortable.

Stupid, inane question here, but my 2x a week Coke Zero habit has led me to question what's a reasonable cost for a 20oz bottled soda in New York.
From my experience in Brooklyn:

• My most frequented deli had been charging $1.75 for any regular 20oz soda, but this recently went up to $2.
• A slightly newer deli has been charging $2.
• Another a block or two away charges me differently based on what type of outfit I'm wearing, so either $2 or $2.25.
• The mid bagel place on my block charges $2.50
• While a Duane Reade could easily be $3.

With inflation and all I get that prices and costs shift upwards, and that beverages are basically all margin, but I'm just curious what the norms are, and if anyone else gets alternate pricing / possibly ripped off.

I remember in like 2012, when I couldnt buy games, that i came across a demo in Steam for a pixel art game loosely based around the Second World War (they didnt explicitly say you where fighting naz*s, but same guns, uniforms...) with isometric view. I think it was set after D Day or in Normandy in general, as it seemed to be cloudy all the time. The friendly soldiers wore green uniforms.
In the cutscenes they didnt use the isometric Styles, characters appeared on screen with pixel art waist up 2d models, not very detailed though, going more for a cartoon style.
The game had a very silly humour, I particularly remember the main character being very sarcastic.
The main area was a camp with lots of tents and soldiers going around. I recall there was a sheperd under a post yelling random lines. To the left, there was your boss' tent, which was a woman, i dont remember much else about her.
I also remember when you first start the game, your character wears rockabilly deliquent clothes, like Skinner in that episode of The Simpsons. Then, when you first enter your tent, he picks his green uniform.
To the right there was a beach full of enemies, where most of the missions took place. You could go up and down that beach, i recall there being one bunker, maybe two?
In the final mission for the demo, you raided a wharehouse, where you rescue an ally soldier wearing a green uniform and a gas mask, he didnt talk. He then becomes your partner (a joke was made about him not being "that kind of partner"). When you take him to the base, your boss tells you that shes putting you in a very dangerous and confidential mission, and then you couldnt play anymore unless you bought the game.
Ive tried to search through all my played games in Steam, as well as in the demo section, with no results. So, the game may not be in Steam anymore.

Now hear me out, I know this sounds pretentious..
I suffer from Gastroparesis (GP) for 4 years (due to nerve damage) with persistent (!) daily symptoms of burping, regurgitation, pain and fullness. This is a solidified diagnosis and I sometimes get a NJ tube placed since I can't bear it any more. Recently I started experiencing a really really remarkable curiosity, which could lead to some relieve (or probably dig the whole deeper that I am in). My docs are out of their depths with the following so I'm turning to you.
Somehow my body recently learned to counter the GP symptoms resulting in like 90 percent less symptoms. My stomach also seems to empty faster. This has never happened before in 4 years, not on a single day. Now it even can last for days. Thing is, this change my body "induces" comes with a major downside: my body somehow also loses the ability to get proper sleep.
Please note, that I never in my life had even the slightest issues with my sleep, even after getting the GP 4 years ago. I always could sleep through, no matter what, and it didn't take long. Now it's like my body only knows two states: stomach bad and sleep good (how it has been for 4 years up until recently) or stomach good and sleep bad. And with bad sleep I mean no feeling of sleepiness even deep in the night, lying awake, not getting any deep sleep when I am "sleeping", hurling from one side to the other the whole night, constantly awake and being awake early.
To give you an example how it has went the last 2 weeks: after some GP days, my stomach gets good suddenly during a day. I know I will have heavy insomnia the coming night. And there it is. This (good stomach, bad sleep) then can stay for some days until there comes a night I will sleep good again. And I know with the first sip of anything in the morning I will experience the usual GP nightmare.
I even went to bed one night after having 2 horrible days stomach wise, was sleepy and all, fell asleep fast, slept good until like 5 hours later I was wide awake (I would normally sleep at least 8 hours). You can guess how my stomach was then..so it must have switched somewhere in the night.
So there isn't a straight causality in that sense, that I need to sleep bad to have less stomach troubles or something...there is more like an underlying common dynamic at play here which affects both areas. It's like my body ramps up the cortisol (for example) to help with digestion which again compromises my sleep. Or it is something serotonergic!?

I'm a senior who finished AP Calculus, I'm likely getting a 4 or 3 on the exam.
Fyi: the exam is on a scale of 5—getting a 4 means I have a strong understanding of the material while a 3 is a decent understanding. My college doesn't accept AP credit but the system usually is: getting a 3, 4 or 5 in an AP exam allows you to skip the college level equivalent of the AP course (a score of 3 is a bit iffy tho, some colleges don't accept it for credit) so hopefully that might help you understand my level in Calculus right now.
Now I'm in my summer break and I want to brush up my Calculus and reach a level where I can dominate my college Calculus courses. Prof Leonard is the resource everyone always recommends, but considering my prior knowledge of Calculus, would the CodeCamp Calculus 1 course on YouTube make more sense?
Ultimately, my aim is to fill in any gaps in my knowledge and I want to practice a ton of problems (I plan to do this thru https://tutorial.math.lamar.edu/, but any alternative suggestions are welcome). Additionally, I also want to learn new topics (from Calc 2) if there's time.

so i had my first ob over a month ago and i’m currently taking antivirals everyday. I got fully tested and the results came back negative but i don’t fully trust it. but the question is i’m seeing this guy and i’d like to be somewhat intimate with him. Is it possible for him to get it if he’s just touching me (like fingering). Or does that still put him at risk and do I have to disclose that. I’m trying to avoid disclosing and from what i’ve been reading i only need to disclose if i’m having sex or genital contact but that’s not what i want to do.

I met Kelly a few years ago at work. I believe at the time she had two young children, the oldest is currently 5. She was also already married to Kevin [26M], who is a stay-at-home-dad, they homeschool and she is the sole provider. I've met Kevin and the kids a few times, but don't really know them, and we never really talked about the kids too much.
We eventually started hanging out outside of work and early on in our friendship I learned that after their first child died, her parents had called in a wellness check on her and Kevin, which really upset her. I didn't pry for more details, but she and her husband moved across country, to where I live, and the relationship with her parents was severely strained.
Between her pregnancies and the pandemic, we didn’t see each other for a while, but hung out again a bit over a year ago. She tells me something that I press and I find out Kevin is emotionally abusive. I tried to convince her to start seeing a therapist and to consider leaving him. But by this time they have three children, and she doesn’t have any family here. I kept checking in and telling her that it is not okay how he treats her and offered her my guest room, etc. At some point she seems upset with me about it, so I back off. Then she gets pregnant again and I drop it.
The baby was born with a condition that meant he was going to be disabled his entire life. When I saw Kelly a few months later, she seemed exhausted but okay, she didn't really talk about Kevin, and gave me a vague response when I asked.
Next time we talked I found out that Kevin had decided he’s in love with someone else, and either Kelly is okay with it or she can leave. I tell her how fucked up that is, she says Kevin is just honest and that's why he told her. She talks about taking her new baby and disappearing, leaving the other three with Kevin.
Then I don't see her at work for a few weeks because our schedules change a bit. I get a text from her that she just got out of jail. She had been arrested for child neglect, and Kevin was arrested for child abuse. Her parents had posted bond and hired a private lawyer. From an article I found out the baby was at the hospital in critical condition. At this point I'd assumed it had been an accident or something. I texted to check-in, but didn't see her again for a few weeks.
From what I know, I think the baby was shaken. When the police interviewed her, she didn't tell them about any of the abuse. She said it was after she was out of jail that she “woke up” to what was happening. Her other children where removed from her care and put with her in-laws. She was still talking to Kevin, who called her from jail several times a day, telling him that she loves him, until her lawyer convinced her to go NC.
Overtime I learn he was abusing all the kids, she saw him do it, she told me she'd taken an older one to the hospital for stiches and lied about the cause. She also says he was physically abusing her.
I go to court with her, try to help her with the in-laws, convince her to reach out to her parents, hangout whenever she needs someone, etc.
About a month later, the baby is in hospice and passes due to his injuries. Kevin is charged with murder and still in jail. While Kelly is angry at him, she still tells me how he wasn’t a bad guy, how she is going to continue to raise the three remaining kids with his parenting philosophy (she says the abuse wasn’t discipline) and no one is going to tell her how to raise her kids. She believes in being honest with them, so she told the 5y that their father was in jail for killing their brother (she gets phone calls and supervised visitation once a week). Overall, she seemed more upset about Kevin being charged then the baby passing.
Yesterday she found out she probably isn’t going to get her kids back. It isn’t official, just what her family lawyer told her. But even before that, every week she wants them to be living somewhere different, based on how her MIL was acting, including putting them into foster care. One of the big blowouts with the MIL was over a missed visitation due to the children being sick. While I have heard her talk about how much she misses Kevin and how much she wants her kids back, she doesn’t really talk about how she misses her kids the way she does Kevin.
Obviously this is a really complex situation, with overlapping layers of grief and trauma, and I will be the first to say I know nothing about kids or marriage. I come from a not great home and I don’t always have the best grasp of what normal relationships look like. So I don’t know how to feel. Part of me empathizes with protecting your abuser and how hard it would have been emotionally to leave. But part of me also feels like she owed her children better then leaving them home alone all day with their abuser, that she should have left him after the first time it happened and that she shouldn’t have continued to have more kids (they were all planned). I haven’t told her and it makes me feel like a really shitty friend who is lying to her when she brings up things I don’t agree with. She feels like the whole world is against her and I don’t want to be someone else pilling on. She also doesn’t have many other friends. Any advice?
TL;DR I am afraid I am being too judgmental of my friend going through a really difficult situation.
