2023.03.25 06:25 Own_Dog_6858 Between sizes - size up or down
Hey guys I'm searching for my first road bike on Facebook marketplace and was fortunate enough to find not one but two listings for a trek lexa s not far from me. One is a 47 and the other is 50. Now, I'm 5'3" with a 30" inseam - long legs and a short torso - on trek's website I seem to fall between the two sizes, but lean more towards the 50. Any advice?
(P.s. the 47 is the better deal as it's cheaper and looks to be in better condition but I would rather spend more for better longterm comfort)

2023.03.25 06:07 throwingaccount1276 Does a seller have to honor an *intentionally* mispriced item?
Texas
So, I was on Facebook marketplace looking at some cars and I saw a good deal on a car ($9,000). The car looked decent (decent amount of mileage, 90,000, but only a few years old, 2016). Also, its a Civic, which I know I like.
I asked the seller if the title was clear, if the engine was working well, and if there were any other serious issue. They said that everything was good.
I said that, if all of that was true, I would buy the car. Then, I said that I can come by the next day with a check for $9,000. Then they said that I needed to get approved for financing, at which point I clarified that I would pay the $9,000 in cash.
At this point, they claimed that the $9,000 they put on the ad was only for a down payment and that the actual price was $20,000.
No where in the ad does it say anything about this being the down payment price. It only says "$4,000" followed by a description of the car. So, I pointed this out and said they should fix the typo and make it clear in the ad that it was not $4,000, but that the $4,000 was only a down payment. Then the seller tells me that it was not a typo and that they
phrase it that way to get customers to click on the ad.
To me, this is clearly false advertising. If it was a typo, I would understand. But this seems to cross a line. Is this really allowed? Or, can I make the seller honor the $9,000?

2023.03.25 05:53 Underdog566 AITA for sending a one word reply?
Context and a little background on the situation: My ex is pregnant and i'm the father š. At the bwginning of the pregnancy she would ask me to help pay for half of the doctors appointments and vitamins she had to take. I think that's fair and happily obliged. She tell me how much the appointment was and ask if i could pay half and u would reply with "sure" or some variation. Well she got really mad at me one day and said that she found one wprd responses to be ao rude and i was acting like a child. Well ok, no more one word responses. So, now, while i'm busy at work i don't get back to her until i have time to write a proper response. I work with alot of clients and think it's rude to be on my phone in front of them typing a respinse so sometimes it takes me awhile.
No the other day she got mad at me for not replying quick enough. Well ok i'll try my best to reply sooner.
Today she asked if i could message someone about a baby monitor on facebook marketplace and go and pick it up for her (the lady stopped replying to her so she thought she might to me). Anyway i was busy at work and quickly sent a "yep" when i had a second. Well she didn't like that. So am i really the asshole for sending one word responses?
TL;DR: my pregnant ex thinks one word responses are rude but sometimes that's all i have time for, AITA for sending them?

2023.03.25 03:56 DramaticOstrich11 Rant about husband and baby's room
Currently 35 weeks and getting induced at 38 so need to get a move on setting up the room. I've said since the beginning I'm taking the spare room for the first six months as there isn't enough space in our bedroom for the bassinet to go next to the bed on either side because of where the bedroom and bathroom doors are. I'd feel much safer sleeping alone with the baby as husband has a ton of pillows, sleeps like a twat (jerks around, kicks, gropes me) and the dogs are always getting on the bed as they can easily open the closed door (it doesn't lock). I don't intend to co sleep/bedshare but I know from experience it's very likely that I will doze off breastfeeding at some point and I'm gonna be furious/freaked out every time I wake up with a dog lying anywhere near me and the baby.
The spare room is the same size and also has a queen sized bed and doors in the same locations, so obviously I needed a smaller bed for it to make room for a bassinet. The current bed hardly gets used but I use the room to get ready in most days (all my cosmetics are in there and a lot of my clothes), the memory foam mattress is 9 years old, it's one of those annoying AF things on wheels that don't lock and has an old boxspring that got damaged in the last move. It shifts ten inches any time you bump into it, which the dogs and kids do constantly so I have to push it back multiple times a day, it hurts like fuck if you stub your toe on it and the frame can't even be attached to the headboard so it loudly bangs against it when you get on the bed and it has even fallen down on occasion. I hate it. I want a single(twin) platform bed with a soft headboard, new firm mattress and a bassinet to attach to the side. I've got all these things already. The only thing I still want to get are two pressure gates for both doors to keep dogs out.
I asked for help moving the old bed today and husband was such a dickhead about it we ended up only moving the mattress and nothing else got done. It's a "downgrade" to have a smaller bed, he says. It's a huge waste to get rid of the (9 year old!) mattress. The "wooden bed" was expensive. (It's literally just a wooden headboard with a generic metal frame that does not fit it/connect!) He got it from facebook marketplace as part of a set (with dressing table and wardrobe) and anything he ever buys he gets so weirdly attached to and feels the need to constantly prove what a good investment it was. I'm not even making him get rid of the headboard I just want it put somewhere else ffs. Where will we put guests? Where will the boxspring go? etc. etc. I spent like fifteen minutes trying to placate him about it all before I just thought fuck you and told him to forget it, I'll do it on my own. I'm the one that's gonna be taking care of the baby, getting up and down off the bed all night, bfing 3-4 hours a night. I deserve to be comfortable, feel safe and have the things I want within reason. And he's whining about a useless headboard and disgusting old mattress? I just cannot fucking imagine being the man in a relationship, not doing a fraction of the childcare, not experiencing any of the physical discomforts and being this stingy and disagreeable with my pregnant wife.

2023.03.25 03:09 anonaccountsrry Being judged by boyfriends parents
I 22(f) ftm have been starting to prepare for baby who will be born in June. I have been feeling dumb lately because my boyfriends parents seem to criticize everything I buy even though majority are essential things.
When I first started buying clothes and necessities for having a newborn every single time I would come home with anything baby related at all even if it was something simple like a single box of diapers or wipes a comment will be made like ābuy buy buy thatās all you doā āwhy do you buy so muchā ect Itās to the point where I get embarrassed like Iām doing too much.
I am not spending a ridiculous amount of money or anything I have just been looking things up and buying what I feel I will end up needing(including ointments, soap, smaller things like that)
Lately I started buying bigger things(which again Iām not spending too much since I often look to Facebook marketplace and buy items there for cheaper) but they judge me for buying a swing and a bouncer because they say I wonāt need it. I ended up buying a co sleeper bassinet along with a crib. Neither take up much space itās a very good sized room. I wanted the bassinet to have right beside me to make things easier for the first few months and I feel safer having her beside me while sheās still a newborn. I then plan on moving her to her crib since I donāt want to co sleep long term. I didnāt think much of this as I know of other people who have done the same.
Iām pretty much getting treated like Iām stupid for getting two beds and for buying smaller items before the baby is actually here. I was so excited to start getting things ready for her arrival and to decorate the room and I feel like thatās ruined now because I get made fun of for it often.
Iām not having a baby shower and donāt have any help at all. Iām just feeling really bummed not being able to be excited to buy baby items. Canāt tell if Iām overreacting due to hormones and maybe I am doing too much. Iām just feeling sad that Iām already constantly being criticized and donāt have many people I can talk to about this. Any opinions/advice welcomed
