A bit about me: Passionate, driven, bubbly, self-assured, loud at times and definitely weird. It takes me awhile to open up, I'm a fun time once I do! I'm a very grounded introvert with a love for art and expression. Some of my ever-changing hobbies currently include kickboxing, general fitness, well-being, self development, art, podcasts, audiobooks, science. I'm also a big, big nerd. I prefer smaller groups, it feels like less pressure, but open to one on one. Looking primarily for the social aspect in my extroverted moments. Wanting to make some genuine friends. Would be down to watch shows/movies and just talk if we vibe. I do have an open schedule so time zone isn't a dealbreaker. Gaming:
When it comes to hobbies, my favourite thing to do is Gaming. I'm a PC gamer and i usually play games like Rainbow Six Siege, League of Legends (both EUNE and EUW servers), Minecraft, and i also recently downloaded Genshin Impact.
Music:
Music is there in a huge part of my life. I usually listen to genres like Emo Rap and Dark Trap. Artists like Bones, Lil Peep, and Killstation are my favourites with me. I also listen to music that's not depressive sometimes, but its mainly some Hungarian or Russian hip-hop artist then.
TV Shows and Movies:
I also enjoy watching shows too, Stranger Things, Outer Banks, and The Big Bang Theory are ones of my favorites. As for movies, I love films like Fight Club, The Book of Eli, but i enjoy some silly comedies or action movies too.
Reading:
Recently, i've discovered that i enjoy reading too! My favourite book is The Alchemist from Paulo Coelho. Currently, I'm reading the Harry Potter series, and i like it a lot.
Social Life:
I love socialising, i'm an Ambivert, but i'm usually leaning to being Extroverted. I Like to go out and party or just enjoy a nice evening walk with an interesting conversation with my friends. I'm open-minded and love learning new things. I'm open to learn from people, but i also like teaching if someone ask me to help, and i'm also down to learn something new together.
I'm hoping to connect with someone who shares a similar time zone, no more than 4 hours apart. And if you decide to reach out, please introduce yourself beyond a simple "Hello." My grandpas passed before I was born. My grandmas passed when I was young. My maternal grandma I barely knew because my mom and I lived far from the rest of the family. My paternal grandma I knew a bit more, but my mom kept me away from my father (who's not my bio father) and his family during all of it because they were separating. My little sister was a lot more affected by her passing than I (technically half-sister, "our" father is her father only). I've never been one for family. I often say I hate the concept of family. My bf, our pets and I are enough. We'll most likely have kids and start our family one day. But my parents and their family, I haven't chosen them. Some I've never met, some I don't like, some I hate, one of my mother's cousin also slightly SA'd me once. So they're family, but they're not my family. But of course they're a few that I really love. On my father's side, there are people so sweet, so nice. We may not be related by blood, but I care for them so much. But even those I love, I am so different from them. They're the type of people that love family, that live close to each other, that call and see each other at the minimum on a weekly basis. I don't do that. I never text, I never call. Not my parents, not my sister, not my friends. The people I talk to on a regular basis are my bf and my colleagues. I've lost many friends over this and I hate it, but I just don't know how else to function. One of my paternal aunts, my father's oldest sister, she was a second mother to him. I must have seen her two or three times in the last ten years. I think about her sometimes. She makes the best fries and the best riz au lait EVER. She never judges anyone. She's dedicated her whole life to caring for others. Her siblings, her nieces and nephews, her mother when she was sick, the local old people, everyone. And I never texted, never called. I love her, a lot, but I never showed it like she does, like everyone else in the family does. Then there was covid, a good excuse to not go and see your old relatives so as to not endanger them. And she got a cancer, about which I learned when she was on the second one. And life goes on and you never find the time to go and see her. And then when you do take some time to go see your dad, he tells you she's at the hospital because of that second cancer, on the floor where they put old people that won't make it (don't know the English word for "soins palliatifs" sorry), and he goes to see her everyday. I did not cry, because I decided then and there that I would go see her very very soon. Maybe not next weekend cause we have this, and the next we have that. But soon, very soon. I want to see her, because I miss her so much. And then you get that call from your dad, and he tells you that she died yesterday, that the cremation is in two days. And there you see so many people you care for but never made time for in the last 15 years. They're not mad at you, but you're mad at yourself. And guilty. And they play these two songs that she liked. And these songs have been in your head non stop day and night for the past 3 days. So I cry because all I think about is all the effort I did not make, and those damn songs stuck in a loop in my head. I cannot for the life of me focus on anything else but those songs. I do not know what to do to try and not think so hard about all of this. I want to hyperfocus on work like I usually do, or on the Sims, or Harry Potter, whatever I always fixate on for hours before I fall asleep. But now it won't work anymore and I don't know what to do

So I’m trying to build a castle in Minecraft with hidden rooms similar to hogwarts from Harry Potter since I’m a huge fan of the series. I was wondering what I could do to make an entrance for a room that only opens when you walk past it in a specific way. Like a room where you walk past and when you walk on a specific path or something then the wall opens and there’s a hidden room. Any ideas?

The magical world in Harry Potter is vast and varied. From the serenity of The Burrow to the ancient allure of Hogwarts, it's teeming with fascinating places. It got me wondering, what's your favourite location in the Wizarding World and why? Is it a place you'd like to visit, or perhaps even call home?

Once upon a time in the quaint town of Quahog, there lived a rather peculiar family known as the Griffins. The head of the family, Peter Griffin, was an oafish and lovable goofball with a knack for getting into trouble. His wife, Lois Griffin, was a strong-willed and patient woman who often found herself exasperated by Peter's antics.
Their children, Meg, Chris, and Stewie, were quite an interesting bunch. Meg, the eldest, struggled with being the family's punching bag, often enduring their jokes and pranks. Chris, the middle child, was a lovable but dim-witted teenager with a heart of gold. And then there was Stewie, the youngest, who possessed an astonishing intellect trapped inside the body of a baby. Stewie had grand ambitions of world domination and a particular dislike for his mother.
One day, a letter arrived for the Griffin family, addressed to Stewie. It turned out that Stewie was a wizard and had been accepted into the prestigious Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Excited by the prospect of magical adventures, the entire Griffin family set off for the magical world.

And of course, the grumpy potions master, Severus Snape, couldn't stand the Griffin family's antics.
As the Griffins navigated the halls of Hogwarts, they stumbled upon various adventures and misadventures. Peter accidentally unleashed a swarm of pixies during a Care of Magical Creatures class. Stewie's time-turner escapades caused mayhem and confusion. Meg and Chris formed an unlikely alliance with fellow misfits, Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood.
Together, the Griffins managed to thwart the schemes of the nefarious Lord Voldemort, who had a striking resemblance to Stewie's teddy bear, Rupert. Through their unique blend of dysfunction and heart, the Griffins brought an unexpected spark of chaos and humor to the magical world of Harry Potter.
And so, the tale of the Griffin family's Hogwarts adventures became legendary, forever etching their names into the wizarding world's history as the most unconventional and hilarious family to ever grace the halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

All seven Harry Potter books hold a special place in my heart, each bringing its own unique magic. Yet, we often find ourselves favoring certain books over others. I don't like that many of the things I enjoy as art, even many things that had a positive impact on my development, are tainted by abuses and crimes of the creators behind it, or abuse of people was directly involved in the making of it. I feel sad because the list of "ruined childhood" stuff I have includes what I consider to be some of the best music and writing.
But I can't ignore the abuse that happened and that makes it uncomfortable for me to enjoy.
Now many things are simply “ruined” for me, as in, the creator’s words or actions have been so dispicable as to taint my memory of, and enjoyment of, the thing I enjoyed as a kid.
I’m including jr. high and high school even though for much of that, I felt mature for my age mentally.

Anime & Manga: Rurouni Kenshin (manga’s creator was a pedophile)
Cartoons: Rick and Morty's Justin Roiland is a domestic abuser.

TV Shows: Nickelodeon, especially the sliming and the gags in shows like All That, are now sus to me since I know that at that time Nickelodeon was under the influence of a pedo producer.
Movies: Anything produced or promoted by Harvey Weinstein or written by/directed by/ starring “canceled” people like Woody Allen. I don't just mean canceled as in "one crazy person got mad on Twitter about some random bullshit" but no I mean when they actually hurt people.
Also, I know that many movies I love tortured the actors, especially Stanley Kubrick, who is still one of my favorite directors, perhaps even THE favorite.
Music:
- R. Kelly. (Love the music, can’t stand hearing it now thinking about his victims.)
- Many famous musicians committed intimate partner violence and were abusive as partners. John Lennon is probably the one who broke my heart the most, but I like that he made a song apologizing (Woman).
- David Bowie is one of my favorite musicians but he had some sort of relationship with a teenage girl. It may have been a brief blip in a long career for him, but I could see her as a Penny Carson type of thing, and even that much turns my stomach.
- Elvis married a teenager, but you could argue social norms about marriage were different then. But still it makes me feel icky.
- Elvis Costello's racist rant about wanting to kick out all immigrants which was the inspiration for the "against the wall" part in The Wall by Pink Floyd. Idk I imagined that it was recreating a real Nazi rally, not simply re-stating and exaggerating for shock value what a beloved mainstream musician actually said.
- The fucking racism in the music industry - another reason I can't really enjoy Elvis music anymore, knowing he stole his shit from black people who were incredibly talented and didn't get the pay and recognition they deserved for their contributions to music history that were stolen.
- Kanye West. Dear gods...
Books:
- Harry Potter - victim of the author’s inability to leave trans people alone.
- Orson Scott Card was also a Mormon and anti-gay marriage, but that incident looks quaint compared to current controversies, but it does make me a bit uncomfortable to support someone who thinks my relationship ought to be illegal.
- Brandon Sanderson being a Mormon makes me uncomfortable as well. I do have ex-Mormon friends, but I also have an aunt who is currently a Mormon. I don't see them as all bad but I don't enjoy supporting anyone financially if they in turn give a large portion of that income to an actively anti-LGBTQ religion.
Stonedrug comedy: now that marijuana is legal, and I've experienced it, and I know what many drugs are like from research, I know that a lot of that stuff is extremely inaccurate, making me unable to enjoy the “comedy” of it.
Sex comedy: mostly hasn’t aged well. Has a lot of trivializing rape and sexual assault, cross-dressing as a punch line per se, etc. Stalking and using aggressive, some might even say terrorist/criminal, methods of "getting laid" in 80s comedies was all "good fun" and I cannot. Those are sex crimes.
Video Games: Ugh… Literally where to even start?
Japanese culture: I used to idolize a culture that's actually very xenophobic, sexist, and they did war crimes they refuse to own up to.
American culture: ditto. It's also the most arrogant country in the world and I hate how Americans are always putting down other cultures without knowing shit about them.

Why are they ruined?

Empathy for living victims. If there’s no living victims of someone anymore, or if they’re already dead, I’m a bit kinder to them (Tolkien, Kipling, etc.). But when I know that there are real people whose lives have been ruined or who have been hurt badly by a certain content creator, I cannot in good conscience enjoy the content anymore. And it ruins it for me to always be thinking about the suffering of the victims.
Concern for the impact of the author's influence. If a person who's not very influential says some dumb Nazi bullshit, it won't have the same impact as a famous and well-admired person doing the same. This is also why I care more about living creators.

Sorry it's just so frustrating and it makes me too upset to even like new shows. It's hard for me to get into new things.
Like it feels like I should just give up. Everything betrays you and the world is full of shocking amounts of abuse and violence. Idk how to even live with this sometimes...
