2023.03.25 09:00 2023Civic Dealer Salesperson lied that car options were mandatory, while documentation says they were not.
California. This happened about 48hrs ago.
Salesperson ran my credit and came back with a hefty list of included add-ons that concluded on a price 50% above the price advertised on their website. The options alone cost $5280 and contributed to the inflated Sales Tax.
I refused and asked him to remove those add-ons many many times, and he said it was not possible since "those are pre-installed accessories that already comes with the car". This back and forth lasted a while. I was very frustrated with this but I really wanted the car. In almost every step of the purchase process (which lasted 3 hours) I made clear that I wanted those out, and they insisted these were already installed in the car, and were mandatory for the purchase.
However, after further reviewing the purchase documentation, these options were, in fact, Optional. Every. Single. One of them. The Pre-Contract Disclosure states that, bot only they were Optional Services, but they were "NOT required as a condition to obtaining financing terms for the purchase of the Vehicle".

I got in touch with the dealer about this, and he says there was no wrongdoing, and goes against the purchase documentation to say (again) that "is up to the dealers discretion if they will charge for accessories" and that deceptively said that "The dealer decides whether they want to sell the vehicle with accessories or not".
He even admitted in text that, one of the "pre-installed" items was actually installed by the detail department in a later moment after the agreement on the price, while I was signing the papers.
I asked him to get his manager to remove the optionals that they frauded me into the deal, and he said his manager would call me to clear me on the terms, and that nothing could be done. I asked to be contacted by text or email (I want this in writing), but he refuses, says can only be done over the phone.
Is there something I can do to make them take these optionals be taken away? I really like my new and all this sucks a lot.
Even if I really like my car, I'm more inclined to take it back to them than paying them after they lied to me. But since I trade-in my old car, taking this back may be a problem.
Do I have any recourse here?

Hey been a week ish. Last girl ghosted me. Not the first or last time for sure i bet. So here we are again. Its been a bunch of posts since the last large one with ridiculous detail so brace yourselves. Please read the whole thing. I know its alot but something might stand out as a conversation starter or a concern to you. It will also reveal a clue as to my security questions answer
Howdy. I am Jason. To start I know it says USA/Online but if your local (river valley arkansas) or from somewhere in europe or else where in the world feel free to message me. If it wasnt obvious i want something long term preferably. Im traditional in my views of relationships for the most part. Meaning ideally a relationship leading to marriage and a family.
So about me. Im from north east oklahoma originally. Near tulsa. And now live west central Arkansas in the river valley. Im very southern. I did AFJROTC and band in school. I went striaght into the workforce and currently work as a security guard. I work from midnight to 8 am so im a night owl. But i function normally on my days off.
Im a gamer. I play on two platforms. Xbox but on pc primarily. I play anything from call of duty to age of empires and minecraft. Im sure if you play games i play something you do. Except fortnite. That game is a scourge on this planet.
I dont use social media, i hate snap chat, facebook, tiktok, instagram, insert other annoying mainstream social media app here. I literally only use reddit for this and for trouble shooting tech issues. And discord. But discord is almost a hard requirement for gaming now. Best bet for getting ahold of me is on there. Because i generally assume chats or dms on here are bots. Unless you pass my security check of course. Which will come later.
I am a recreational shooter. I collect guns and other historical memorabilia like helmets, uniforms, medals, etc and shooting at the range. I own an Armalite Rifle and Avtomat Kalashnikov. Its an expensive hobby. And means the fed know who i am. Where i am. And what i say at all times. So if you dont lile the fed i apologize. I wish they didnt know me but its a cost of my rights apparantly. That and ridiculous tax stamps.
Im physically not very interesting. Im like somewhere between 5'10 and 6 foot. I was last measured in highschool. Im on the heavier side but definitely not like to big to ride amusment park rides or fly on planes i guess. I got that redneckish good ole boy facial structure. If you really wanna see my face i have a picture of me here at work i can share. And im sure old JROTC pics of me still exist. I also dress either like im to lazy to dress or i get 'cowboyed up' if im goim somewhere.

Im what would be considered right wing leaning now. Although when i was 17/18 i was considered left leaning. I believe in the 10 god given rights enshrined by law. I believe in god. Non demoninational christian but leaning into the baptist mindset. I believe in the nuclear family, traditional love, and other 'conservative' values. Then I check my calendar for meetings and plan my day.
As I fresh in my mind, start with deep thinking and strategic work, writing documents (we have heavy and strong documentation culture).
Until lunch, I continue working on formulating new metrics, deriving insights out of existing ones, roadmap/prioritisation (as needed), requirements specs, reviewing designs, my teams PRDs/other docs, etc.
Post lunch, I started responding to emails, Slacks, have my connects, go around the office meeting my team/answering their queries, meet stakeholders and align on un-common goals.
And at the end of the day, update my own task tracker for the spill over tasks for the next day, clean up my coffee mug keeping it ready for the next morning, and head home.
For the context, I am a Senior platform PM owning two north stars/products.

My Chinese National husband plans to apply for a tourist visa to attend my cousinās wedding in Ireland with me in September.
Looking on the application website it lists that if one has ever been denied a visa to any country they must provide the original denial document along with their application.
My husband was denied a tourist visa to the United States in 2018, but no longer has that paper, which merely states that he was denied for the reason of not proving intent to return to China, but no more details.
We have asked the consulate which denied him to provide this documentation, but they can only confirm that he was denied in an email, not reissue the original documentation.
How should we proceed?
Have I clearly understood what the Irish government requires? It seems a bit extreme to me to require people to provide rejection documents to other countries going back yearsā¦
And additionally, what would his chances be of getting the visa approved? We own a home in China, he has a job he has been working for 5 months, but at the time of the application he wonāt have more than probably $8000 USD cash in his bank.

So I have to be upfront and say that I have a real problem with the "documentation" fees dealers charge.
Maybe I am wrong, but from my point of view the dealership is basically demanding the customer pay additional fees for completing the paperwork required to sell a car. Whether it's the finance and purchase agreement paperwork F&I does or the licensing paperwork done by the "girls upstairs" this paperwork is required and is a cost of doing business when selling a vehicle. All of these costs should already be baked into the pack on each car on the lot.
To be clear, I am NOT talking about the actual licensing agency fees. These should always be borne by the purchaser.
I live in WA state and according to my understanding these charges are supposed to be "negotiable" under state law. However, I have run into several new and used car dealers who simply refuse to negotiate this fee. They specifically state that yes it's a negotiable fee, but we will not negotiate that fee. However, in negotiations they will deduct the cost of this fee from the price of the vehicle, but that's it. You're still "paying" this fee, but in reality it's a wash since they are deducting from the selling price.
And really, it may be better this way for the buyer since that also reduces the sales tax on the vehicle purchase. But I think the salesperson also gets a little screwed as the reduction in sales price reduces the gross, so he or she takes a bit of a hit.
Can someone explain to me what the deal is with this?
At the end of the day it just feels excessive to be charging that fee. But I am leaving open the possibility my perspective is incorrect, hence my question. :)

We're trying to file taxes for 2022. I'm on an H4 visa and immigrated to the US in April 2022. I had a full-time job and income in my home country till I moved here. Now, we'd be using - the "Married Filing Jointly" option, also do note that I pass the substantial presence test so I'd be considered a resident alien for tax purposes. However, I'm not sure if I need to include my income till April 2022 ( foreign income exclusion) when we file taxes. I think I do, but I could use some advice on how to go about this. If someone's had a similar experience... I'd really appreciate your input.

So I have a job and a valid PGWP. I also got a visitorās visa, as PGWP is not a travel document. Iām currently abroad on vacation but I left Canada with just my passport with visa stamped in it. I left my PGWP in Canada.
Will they ask for the original PGWP when I reenter? I have a scanned copy in my phone and can produce that, as well as my job offer, if needed.

This is the Witness. The First Knife. The shape of the first knife is the Witness. A wicked shape as Savathun describes it The Witness is ancient because it was created in the Garden. In the Field of Possibility it is a tool or child of Darkness. One that was created out of fury and anger towards the Traveler's rebuke.
I think sometimes if I dream long enough, I will understand this Witness better, the Voice not of the Darkness, yet in it. But I do not have the time to spend in dreaming.

But: I can settle in his hand and, sometimesā¦ sometimes we still understand each other, like meaning moves from me to him without the need for words at all.

I think the voice, that wrong presence in the Darkness, thought that forgetting his team would make him malleable, but it's the other way around, really. Without them, my Guardian is impossible to shift aside. Even for me.
If the man agrees, he puts himself in the wanderer's power, ceding his own choices for the implicit promise that this is the correct road, the safe road. And if he disagrees? Let us say that the wanderer draws a knife. The man may therefore be made to take the dexter road. But now if the knife goes away, the man will certainly flee. And perhaps even if the knife remains, the man may tire of being threatened and decide the risk is worth fleeing. In this way, the wanderer erodes their own power. If the wanderer says, "The wind has said that you should take the road of my choosing," will the man accept the choice made for him?

Hi, my wife and I are departing for Japan on March 26th. We are not fully vaccinated, so we just got our Covid test today at an urgent care and both tested negative. I uploaded our certificates on to Visit Japan Web but when they were reviewed I received an email titled ā(Quarantine Documentation Center) Please resubmit your test certificateā. It went on to state āThis test certificate is not considered valid because we could not confirm required items, or they did not satisfy requirements.ā

Maybe I entered the type of test and sample incorrectly on Visit Japan Web? Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on what we should do? We only have today to figure it out and Iām panicking a little.

Iām on a D-2 visa and I have applied to extend my visa period through the HiKorea website on the 14th. Today I received a message saying that I need to resubmit my bank statement (ė³“ģģģ²). I didnāt have the required amount so I need to send money from my own bank account in my country of origin to my bank account in Korea. However, because itās the weekend, I might need to wait until Monday or Tuesday for the money to be deposited into my Korean account.
I will call 1345 to ask for more clarification this Monday but I was wondering if anybody else had ever encountered such issues? Until when can I resubmit the document that they require?

I have been assigned the task of preparing a document on the best practices for converting CAD data to GIS. It is commonly known that this conversion can be a daunting task, and while researching the steps involved on the ESRI website, I have realized that the results of this process can vary greatly depending on the type of CAD file used. This leads me to believe that the method in which the CAD file was originally created may also play a significant role in the conversion process.
If anyone has a list of requirements or steps that they follow when performing this conversion, I would greatly appreciate it if they could share it here.
