Alright will let me start off by saying this is my first time using reddit, so be gentle.
Bit of a back story:
My union has been on strike for some time now and it doesn't look like it going to end any time soon. Im the bread winner in this multi-generational family (Mother, my Niece and, myself) I work in a gig based field which there is 0 going on so I need to supplement my income.
I bought a few Ender3 v2 3D printers last year and decided its time to learn how to use them and try to make some money.
I spent the last 2 months coming up with a concept(s) to sell things work related. I have a set(s) of items that are all compatible with each other. There are 3 sets in total and they are not compatible with each other, I intend to slowly post new items of the set spread out. then change sets and repeat. I posted a few Pices to the first set online and instantly had 8 orders and a ton of request for other things. the problem is these printers are extremely slow and not very reliable.
After some thought I opened a LLC. for a few reasons,

1. If I'm going to do this full time for a few months I want to do it right and by the book.
2. To learn how an actual small business is ran.
3. Write offs
4. Establish now so I can use it in 2 years time to help buy a house for us.
   
5. get on top of my finances

I have been listening to a lot of Don Carveth videos on Youtube on psychoanalysis etc. He is essentially describing the positions of Melanie Klein for the most part. And it got me thinking a bit about how the descriptions of Persecutory guilt map onto scrupulosity.
I think one challenge when letting go of scrupulosity is the fact that it is actually grounded in some real guilt that we (or at least I) feel is justified, so fully letting go of the intrusive thoughts feels like the wrong kind of response. I would also say that in some cases scrupulosity does help people become better individuals, but at a cost that is much higher than normal.
But it also feels like the guilt represented by scrupulosity is fully Persecutory that results in rituals (rumination, praying, etc.) that don't actually benefit anyone nor result in any real world change. The thesis that stood out the most to me in those videos is that feelings of Persecutory guilt are often the easy way out because they don't actually involve doing anything productive with it.
Reparative guilt on the other hand is one where instead of berating oneself one actually does something of real value to address the harm one has caused. So the thought pattern that I think kind of works is to:

1. Whenever feelings of guilt come in decide whether it is Persecutory or Reparative guilt. As a rule of thumb any non-action intrusive thoughts that do not actually based on any real deeds are purely Persecutory, because there is no action to repair.
2. Any Persecutory guilt that is purely though-based and is not grounded in any actual bad actions can be fully discarded, especially if one has had the same though patterns before and it would basically be just a repetition of no value.
3. Any Persecutory guilt that is based on some actual actions should be converted into Reparative, e.g. how to actually compensate for ones actions. Rumination, praying and usual rituals that don't actually benefit anyone else should be then replaced by some actual good deeds that compensate for those actions. If there is no clear action then likely this guild is also Persecutory and can be discarded as in 2.
4. If there is an actual meaningful action that can be done than that is probably a good thing to do. It is important here to not turn this into a ritual and the action has to actually benefit whoever was harmed. After the reparative action is performed such guilt can also be let go.

Hopefully the above should allow to address any guilt that is actually real vs guilt that is just a loop with intrusive thoughts. This would mean that the remaining guilt can be let go without feeling guilty about doing so.
Some examples (on purpose a bit weak examples to not be triggering):

• Having "bad thoughts" about anything - absolutely Persecutory so can be let go.
• Not having called up your mom in a long while - call your mom
• Guilt about inaction in the past because of laziness (e.g. did not help a friend move when they needed it) - make a resolution to not be lazy the next time and stop thinking about it.
• Any kind of religious thoughts - these are purely Persecutive usually, focus on the actual actions, sort of "You Will Know Them by Their Fruits". If a tree is giving good fruits it has to be a good tree, you cannot be an evil person if you are not doing evil deeds.

For college students, there is often a negative correlation between mental health and financial stress. When you make a plan on how to pay for college, that often helps alleviate some financial stress by showing that there is a way to deal with it. But make sure to monitor your progress and not to let setbacks slow you down and/or discourage you.
Tip 4: Manage the other stressors in your life.
Everyone has stress in their lives. But when more stress is added on top of existing stress, that tends to make your mental health worse. So, managing all of your stress will help the financial stress not be as impactful on your mental health as it was before.

I've been pondering about the future of Jonathan Kent's character in the show, and I wanted to share an idea that has been running through my mind. Now, I understand that this idea deviates from the traditional Superman lore and the character development we've seen so far. However, a dark twist like this could inject fresh and unexpected tension into the show, giving us a unique and compelling storyline to explore. None of this would be Jonathan or even Lex's fault. It is all on Clark and Lois for being shitty parents.

As it states, but more info: I have a quicksilver and a 1.5% spark “business” card which are now only useful in helping with AAoA and utilization. I really want a Savor as it’s one of the only cards that fit for being useful in my daily spend b.c I use CFF for 5% categories and currently 3% resturant, US Bank Connect for 4% travel, I don’t drive and use a lot of public transit, Ubelyft and eat a lot at Wawa (an amazing gas station lol), and I have a 2% SoFi for my catch all.
The Savor would be perfect to add to my set up because I do spend a lot eating out and on entertainment. It’s the only 0 AF card to add for my long term life grinders for when I’m not SUB chasing.
I’m hoping my current QS & Spark card do not mess up acquiring the Savor but wanted to get your opinion.

1 found the cheapest option is walmart and ebay, same tire. Now, can i trust walmart guys to change and do alignment or should I go to a more known local tire shop? I have a 00 Sr5 Sport with 330k that developed a misfire issue I can’t figure out. It develops a cylinder 1 misfire only when I start it when it warm. If it sits overnight it runs on six, but as soon as I turn it off then back on we’re on 4 or 5. Has anyone ever had this issue?!

I (36M) got a call yesterday morning from a social worker in Louisiana letting me know that my aunt had passed away and they were attempting to contact relatives to find a guardian for her two daughters (12F and 14F). My family is pretty broken and dysfunctional. My aunt and I were close growing up due to the close age difference between us, and had remained in contact but we're not close. The last time I have seen her or her daughters was around seven years ago. Turns out that I'm basically the only family member who is capable and even remotely willing to even temporarily care for them, if I can't take them they totally understand and will begin working on foster placement. I dont want them to go into the system because I've seen what that looks like so I flew out yesterday afternoon.
Before I met with them, the social worker warned me that given their statements and the condition of the house that it's possible they have been neglected and an investigation has been opened. It's an absolute understatement. Things are totally fucked. The house is a trailer with a leaking roof, everything is infested with bedbugs or mold, neither girl has been to school since COVID shut things down in 2020 since their mom "homeschooled" them, they've literally never left their town of 4,000 people due to my aunt's mental and physical disabilities preventing her from driving. The whole situation is like a mental health horror show that these kids have been trapped in.
I signed the guardianship papers this morning. CPS wants to know if I'm taking them back out of state to live with me or if I'm going to stay here so they can help set up mental health care, which is like an obvious first step. I took them to the mall and got them new clothes, which was pretty cool since they both told me they've never had others that didn't come from the thrift store or church donations so it was nice getting to do something nice. We're staying in a hotel for a few nights here while we get things worked out. It seems like CPS is going to set me up with a few basic services and then I'm on my own since I'm a capable parent. Where do I even begin with this?
