2023.05.29 13:48 VantaBlack2_Dev Congratulations to UP SwordArt for the 2nd lowest damage in a major region game
SwordArt with his game 1 performance vs AL on Milio, dealt a shockingly low 451 damage, (for context the enemy sup, Lulu, dealt 4605 damage)
This damage is only beaten by the one and only Kid on IG, way back when, dealing 443 damage on Vayne, (only auto'd champions 3 entire teams the whole game)
Considering how easy it is to deal damage on milio this is a bit surprising, however we all saw how invisible he was with Doggo that game anyways.
Even Ming on RNG at worlds dealt more damage, and his first instance of damage was 21 minutes into the game lol
SwordArt should hopefully hold this record for a very long time

2023.05.29 13:45 Possible-Music-2610 Nearing my finals in a few weeks pero sumusuko na ‘ko
Long post ahead.
I’m a 3rd year Multimedia Arts student. As I’m nearing my finals week (around 2nd-3rd week of June), ito yung first time na nagdududa na talaga ako kung makaka-survive pa ‘ko this sem. Like fr legitimately hindi ‘to yung medyo arte ko lang the past few sems na my insecurities would come through and consume me pero deep inside I know I’ll make it but this time it’s different.
The thing is ubos na ubos na ‘ko. Umabot na ‘ko sa point na wala na akong ma-produce na kahit ano for my assessments and the problem is at the same time walang kahit anong incentive na working for me to get through. Super nagsasabay sabay na yung mga assessments to the point na ang hirap na nila lahat i-manage and di na rin ako nakakacomply sa ibang assessments. As an art student na ‘di ganon kagalingan sa creative side compared sa peers niya, the burnout really has a big toll on me.
What really bothers me the most is we have a Research Methods subject which serves as our precursor sort of to our Thesis 1 next A.Y. We were tasked to create 3 concept papers in relation to our course and major and I don’t know if that’s just me pero ngl ang hirap mag-formulate ng isang research problem and solution na in relation sa major ko (Film and video, therefore super limited lng ng research method ko and docu film lang kaya ko ma-produce, not to mention individual thesis pa so mukha talagang di siya feasible). Upon consultation walang naapprove sa topics ko and ang demanding ng hinihinging revisions ng prof, I’m very limited sa magiging objectives ng paper ko due to the nature of my course/major and the professor wants more. Two days later may gaganapin kaming defense pero wala pa ‘kong nasisimulan sa revisions. Mainly because as I said, ubos na ubos na ‘ko wala na ‘kong gana.
Yung tipong even the deadline won’t do jack to motivate me, gusto ko na lang humiga, mamahinga’t humimlay (halfjoke). Also kahit anong pahinga gawin ko waepek siya lods, ganun pa rin mangyayari tutunganga lang ako sa PC ko and magcocontemplate about everything. After finals I plan not to enroll muna for the next sem, I’ll do some self-evaluation muna and maximum pahinga but even then it’s very uncertain dahil on life support ako ngayong finals.
I have no one to talk to since I’m that type na hindi mahilig humingi ng tulong even if everything’s on the line (also I’ve cut myself off from my circle of friends and my socially inept ass does not help). I’m barely holding on and I don’t know what to do.

Judaica jewelry is a beautiful and meaningful expression of Jewish culture and tradition. It is a testament to the rich history and heritage of the Jewish people, with roots dating back thousands of years. Throughout history, Jews have used jewelry to express their faith and identity.
Today, Judaica jewelry remains a popular way to connect with one's Jewish roots and show pride in one's heritage. From Star of David pendants to Hamsa bracelets, Judaica jewelry offers a wide range of options for you to embrace your Jewish identity through fashion.
Judaica jewelry has a long and rich history that can be traced back to ancient times. In fact, the earliest examples of Jewish jewelry can be found in the Bible, where many apex figures are described as wearing jewelry as a sign of their wealth and status. For example, King David was said to have worn a gold crown, while Queen Esther wore a silver scepter.
Over time, Jewish jewelry became more intricate and meaningful, with each piece often telling a story or conveying a message. So here are the top three Judaica jewelry pieces that you can opt for apart from
wedding bands in Charlotte, NC.
Chai Necklace It is one of the most popular Judaica jewelry pieces. The word "chai" means "life" in Hebrew, and this necklace is often worn as a way to celebrate the gift of life. The chai symbol is typically displayed on a pendant or charm and is often combined with other symbols, such as the Star of David or the hamsa hand.
Mezuzah Necklace The mezuzah is a small parchment scroll that is placed on the doorpost of a Jewish home as a reminder of God's presence. The mezuzah necklace typically features a miniature mezuzah pendant and is often worn as a way to bring God's protection and blessings with you wherever you go.
Evil Eye Necklace The evil eye is a popular symbol in many cultures and is said to protect the wearer from harm. The evil eye necklace typically features a small pendant or charm that is designed to ward off negative energy and protect the wearer from the evil eye.
Judaica jewelry is not only a way to celebrate Jewish culture and heritage, but it is also a way to express one's faith and connect with God. Whether you are looking for a traditional piece of Judaica jewelry or a modern and contemporary design, there are many different options available to suit your style and taste. 2023.05.29 13:38 burt111 PSA genymotion currently only works by using the Linux download from their site
Was trying to see if it was possible to get android running for sometime now to set up a launcher for tap tap revenge only to find guides for installing with yay.
Long story short any guide mentioning it is broken so using the downloaded installer from genymotion website is the only viable way atm to get android working without jumping through many hoops also gmtool command can launch the VM directly.
- download genymotion installer in desktop mode
- Right click where it’s downloaded and click open kconsole
- Drag the file in the console and pick your path to install and wait
- Once finished go to the directory and click genymotion
- Create an account and activate it make sure you pick personal use
- Set up a device similar to other guides fire hd 8 1200x800 8:5 with 8192 for ram and change vm heap to 512 and processors to 6
- Once in the vm set it up for multiple apps or one app of your liking
- now you can add the genymotion to steam as a non steam game and change the name to android and use the steamgriddb plugin to get cover art etc
BONUS: if you don’t want to pick the vm and start it you can do the following 1. Go back to the genymotion folder and open kconsole 2. ./gmtool admin list 3. Under device name or name highlight and copy the device name 4. In steam add gmtool 5. Click properties and set launch options to admin start and right click and paste the device name (make sure you have “ brackets on the device name) 6. Now set the name to whatever you want the game to be listed as and use steamgriddb again to get artwork 7. In controller settings make sure you click edit layout action set (always) —>add command and under system click enable touchscreen so multitouch works
Hope this helps somebody not wonderlessly wait for android to work

2023.05.29 13:36 Affectionate-Ice3346 How to get better at descriptive detail writing?
In books, you usually see something like
her baby blue orbs shone as the leaf fell from the yellow tree. She waved to her friend and moved to talk to her. She tossed the long strands of her auburn hair out of her lovely eyes as she talked. The air is murky, and the sun is like a raw wound in the grimy flesh of a beggar, and the rags of the clouds are clotted. The sky has been stabbed and has been left to die above the world, filthy, vast and bloody. And then the great winds come and the sky is blown naked, and a wild bird screams across the glittering land.
How do I achieve this ?

2023.05.29 13:34 rhubarbjin [Silicon Curtain] Oliver Bullough - Russian Money in London Permeated its Service Sector & Secured Political Influence
This channel holds podcast-style interviews with various experts on various topics -- but this one struck me as especially Kraut-like in its analysis. The interviewee describes how the British financial system (unwittingly) enabled the deterioration of Russian society and continues to (unwittingly) obstruct democratic development around the world.
I recommend watching the whole thing. To entice you, I've transcribed some juicy quotes below.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yck3rYN-GbE [2:56] [Londongrad] is a catchy term [but] I do have a slight problem with it, because it stresses the role London plays in laundering money for the former Soviet Union when actually London is not nearly so specialized in the service it offers. [...] It launders money from absolutely anywhere. In fact, the money from Russia or Eastern Europe is a relatively small subset of the money that pours through the City of London.
[5:20] When communism ended in Russia in 1991, a reforming government came to power. Boris Yeltsin was then president, and appeared to be (in his erratic way) sincerely committed to build a new system. [...] A particular concern of the government at the time was: how do you prevent the Communists coming back to power in the next election? How do you establish democracy irreversibly? They had a plan: [...] use private property as the tool to build democracy in Russia. [...] If they could establish a class of property owners, those property owners would then demand protection from the courts to prevent it being taken away [then] they would demand laws in those courts and then they would demand that those laws be created in a fair manner, which would require a functioning legislature, which required functioning elections, and that required all the paraphernalia around elections. So, in this way, there is a logical chain which leads from "rapid privatization" to "free and fair elections".
[8:32] The problem with this plan is that it never had the chance of being implemented [because] the winners from the very early privatization auctions -- the people who got very rich in the 1990s -- managed to take the money out of Russia and putting it into London. So they didn't need rule of law in Russia, they didn't need democratic elections, they didn't need free and fair courts... because they could buy all that in London. [...] Instead of the oligarchs (as we now call them) being a temporary problem -- a necessary evil for building democracy and freedom in Russia -- they became [...] a colonizing class in their own country.
[10:14] London wasn't alone in the 1990s. Much of this money also flowed to Switzerland and New York, but in both of those cases there were serious investigations [...] which helped to limit the money flow. There was no equivalent in London.
[10:56] This has created a form of political economy which is unique among large countries, where [...] more than half of national wealth is housed outside Russia. The equivalent for European countries is about 10% and in the United States it's 5 or 4. Fifty-one percent of national wealth is outside Russia.
[12:03] That's kind of our fault. [...] How did Putin build the kleptocratic system, how did the oligarchs manage to steal everything? Because we helped them. We provided the legal services, the accounting services, we sold them property, we educated their children, we sold them fine art, we kept their superyachts, we provided them with taxation systems, we sold them golden visas, we helped them sue journalists who tried to write the truth about all this.
[13:36] We are stepping in to try and help the Ukrainians solve a problem that we caused.
[15:30] I've never got any sense that this was a deliberate policy. It's something that was profitable, and therefore no one was in the mood to ask too many questions. [...] There was a self-serving ideology -- which is not uniquely British, we see the same in Germany and other European countries -- that by trading with the Russians we would be civilizing them. [...] The idea that "what I want to do anyway, which is make money from these people, is not just good for me but good for everybody" is an incredibly convenient philosophy.
[21:25] There was an astonishing alliance between the Soviet Union -- specifically, its state bank Moscow Narodny Bank which was based in London -- and the Midland Bank [...] This was in the 1950s: the MNB decided to lend its dollars to Midland Bank and thereby discovered that if you use dollars in London, all the restrictions disappeared. [...] Before too long, it wasn't just Midland Bank doing it, but all the London banks, then other banks opened branches too: American banks, German, Japanese, French and so on. This was the birth of offshore finance [...] liberating the wealthy from the control of the rest of us.
[25:43] This willingness to profit from anybody is at the core of the reinvention of London from the capital of the British Empire to the capital of the Offshore Empire. That's why I refer to them as "butlers to the world".
[28:17] It's very difficult to pin down precise numbers, but it's clear that Russia is more unequal than it was on the eve of the first world war. The oligarchs now have a greater proportion of wealth than the aristocrats did under the tsar.
[30:46] There was a sense in Russia that the Europeans were incapable of uniting against the Russian threat, so it came as a shock in Feb '22 when that's precisely what happened. The UK, the EU, the US, Canada, Australia, Japan [...] paralyzed the mechanisms by which Russian oligarchs operated [...] so they've been seeking new mechanisms to get their money out of Russia. [...] Turkey has stepped in, and of course Dubai, which has a perpetual role in helping corrupt people get money out of their home countries.
[32:02] But that is only because of sanctions, and sanctions are a foreign policy tool. [...] There hasn't been in the UK -- or any other European country -- an adequate law enforcement response. [...] There's been a little work in the US and Canada, but very little done in this country, and that's a result of [our] disastrously underfunded law enforcement agencies.
[37:34] Ukraine, as people ceaselessly remind you, was (and probably is, in many ways) as corrupt as Russia [...] but what it doesn't have is a pyramid of corruption with one person at the top [...] Instead you have multiple warring clans [...] and in the cracks between these clans a civil society was able to appear in Ukraine. [...] In this pluralistic corruption, Ukraine was able to build this vibrant, powerful, horizontally organized society which is very different from the vertically organized Russian society.
[45:33] How do you de-radicalize someone like Putin? [...] I think that the only solution now is for him to lose, and sadly that will involve tens of thousands of young men's lives [...] because of the system that the oligarchs allowed him to create and the system that we in the UK allowed them to create. [...] That is a serious thing that we need to recognize and address, because [...] all the other kleptocrats are still bringing their wealth here: Chinese, Malaysian, Nigerian, whatever, it flows here uninterrupted. [...] This is an opportunity for us to examine what we've done [...] and make sure it never happens again.
[48:00] London as an offshore market is unrivaled. [...] You can get private school for your children in Switzerland, you can build opaque corporate structures in Dubai, but everything together in one place, the world-class financial system, the world-class legal system, a generous tax system, a huge art and luxury goods market, coupled with a network of tax havens -- no one else comes close. If London stopped being a center for kleptocratic wealth, it would destroy the global money-laundering system.
[52:04] Economics is not maths. You don't have to agree to it. The reason R has been greater than G over the centuries is because the rich have been able to capture politics. [...] We can fight back against that.

2023.05.29 13:26 justanotherenby009 I am Genderfluid AMAB I have managed to cover my long hair in my very anti lgbt family
I am blessed with beautiful red hair and myall life it was always short I usually had a buzz cut because it would get untamed at a certain length until the pandemic and God I love it long it is so amazing, but my family (not including spouse and her family) hate it and were threatening to cut it off you know the usual cr*p
But luckily I am part of revolutionary war reenactment group that does the British Army and I used this to find information including a Royal statement from King George the Third that demanded solider have enough hair to reach the nape of the neck when clubbed. Additionally he required all men to be clean shaved at all times so naturally I tend to be clean shaved as well because the King demands and I obey ;)
So my Feminine hair is actually just my historically accurate hair as required by the King and I use it to more accurately portray the era. And some how this has worked and my family gives me a lot less cr*p over it now.

| Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) As one of the most highly-regarded animated films in recent years, “Spirited Away” imbues its viewers with a sense of wonder and creativity that is not often seen in movies today. Directed by renowned animated mastermind Hayao Miyazaki, the film is a testament to his exceptional talent in crafting mesmerizing works of art. It successfully captures the spirit of Japanese folklore, where the protagonist, a young girl named Chihiro, faces challenges that require her to evolve and grow mentally, into a more mature and capable version of herself. The film's creativity is manifested in its vivid animation which must be applauded for its richness in detail, color and emotional depth. Personally I think Studio Ghibli took meticulous care in ensuring every frame of the animation was well-crafted, from the charmingly quirky characters to the beautiful landscapes, each element of the film is thoroughly thought-out and contributes to its captivating narrative. Furthermore, Spirited Away also draws audiences in through its poignant themes. The film explores complex ideas of love, loss, perseverance and the power of human relationships. The message is conveyed through the character development of Chihiro, who starts off as a timid and uncertain child, but learns to be strong and resilient throughout her perilous journey in the spirit world. These themes provide the film with a diversity in content that is accessible to viewers of all ages. Finally, the movie is a timeless masterpiece with enduring relevance. From the first frame to the last, it takes its audience on a dazzling and enchanting adventure that will stay with them long after the movie ends. It is a must-see for anyone who loves imaginative and engaging storytelling. Spirited Away cements itself as one of the greatest animated films in history. As one of the most highly-regarded animated films in recent years, “Spirited Away” imbues its viewers with a sense of wonder and creativity that is not often seen in movies today. Directed by renowned animated mastermind Hayao Miyazaki, the film is a testament to his exceptional talent in crafting mesmerizing works of art. I know long hair doesn't make a woman but it gives me the self confidence I need. Just another day and another attempt to put me down. Not gonna happen.
2023.05.29 13:19 ShortTransportation7 [upx] a struggling but determined student needs life advice
tw: mentions of suicide
hello,, so im a bit lost on what i should do and im too ashamed to tell this to other people w/o worrying abt the fact na theyd also view me as a failure ganun. so far ive only shared this with my sister and nagbahagi rin naman sya ng advice on this (harsh yet true type of advice haha), but in a way gusto ko pa rin ng insight ng ibang tao w/o judgement. with this sana wag nyo ko ibully sa comments HAHAHA PLS BE KIND PA RIN IN A WAY :')) note: some details have been obscured/tweaked kasi baka mahalata na ako yon pero i doubt that sa dami ng tao d2 pero u never kno diba
for context, i have this one major subject na prereq for all the other subjects. second take ko na ito kasi nagloa ako dati and naglapse na so i had no choice but to wait for 1 whole year kasi this subject is only offered once buong acad yr. so at this point dahil delayed na ako and all, gusto ko na sanang ipasa para kasabay ko na yung classmates ko sa next subjects after this prereq course (parang nakakahiya na rin kasi na dapat 5 yr course lang ako pero parang 2 years yung nasayang ko tapos parang freshie pa rin standing ko kasi pang1st yr yung subj na yun; also nung nakuha ko yung inc dun sa subj na to, tinake ko na rin yung higher subjs after that pero drinop ko rin after and nagloa due to mental health reasons pero loa was shortlived kasi napilitan ako icomplete yung inc pero di ko nga nagawa so lalo lang nafuck up mental health ko HHAHAHAH).
so ayun back to the main story, medj nagfuck up ulit ako, i wasnt able to pass the requirements on time. isang rason dun ay takot ako magstart ng req kasi lagi kong naiisip na what if panget yung gawa ko, and i tend to compare myself to others tas lumalala lang din impostor syndrome ko kasi wtf dapat ba talagang nasa up ako,,, alam ko namang kaya ko and masipag akong estudyante ngayon so i know i have it in somewhere in me, mabagal lang ako gumawa. napaisip na nga ako kung magshift ako pero i realized na gusto ko talaga tong course, may halo syang art and at the same time planning for others, mga design strategies and all, kaya kahit hirap ako ngayon at bobong bobo sa sarili at times, gusto ko pa rin sya talaga tapusin--kailanga ko lang talaga na makawala sa self-destructive habits ko kasi talaga beh alam ko sa sarili kong keri ko to.
ive tried counceling before sa ocg pero di ko tinuloy kasi parang di sya keri ng ganun lang, parang mas kailangan ko na talaga ng professional help. aside from the previous issues ko sa sarili ko (anxiety attacks, breakdowns, lack of self-confidence, pressure ganun), may family problem din kami and hanggang ngayon affected pa rin ako kasi at this point never na sya masosolusyunan. eh yung prof ko pa naman, ayaw nyang binabalikan yung mga past reqs kasi gusto nya parang tuloy-tuloy yung checking kasi draining ata for them tas medyo set na sya sa di sya mag-aaccept ng late submissions. they also made a point na first yr na subject palang to so as we go through the yrs itll just get more hectic and time consuming so kung hirap kami ngayon palang pano na yung next years. pero etong si tangang to di pa dinrop tong subj na to and di pa nagpapacheck sa psychiatrist (tho im working on it, mahal din kasi magpacheckup HUADSHJFH) kasi im still hanging on a small chance na magiging considerate si prof about this. nakaprobation na warning status din kasi ako, so medj bawal ako magkabagsak na grade and pls lang ayoko na rin ulitin tong subject na to and gusto nang umusad, kaya ko pa rin namang ipasa all reqs within this sem and be on time with the final reqs. and yung isagn req din this week ay magpresent on thurs kaso kasi nga di ko pa tapos yung ibang reqs that are needed for that req so parang i still need to let the prof know na di ko nga keri magpresent on that day and naaanxious lang din ako kasi what if icall out nya ako sa uvle or like may sinasabi na sya about
so ayun at this point, should i email my prof again regarding my situation now, and just beg (syempre in a formal pero di demanding way) that he'll let me pass the missed reqs kahit may deductions na? im hoping na makita nya yung sincerity ko to finish this subj kasi i truly enjoyed this class (lord wala kasi talagang tumatak sa isip ko and wala akong natutunan nung tinake ko yung course na to na ol setup lang). di nya rin kasi ako nireplyan the last time na tinanong ko if pwede ba isubmit tas nagsabi lang sya sa class na theyll adjust dls but not accept late submissions nga so ayun. ive been anxious to the point im thinking of ending things kasi mas madali na wag na lang magworry at mag-isip kaysa sa magiging failure ko pag di pumayag yung prof kasi naiisip ko yung humiliation and disappointment from my parents. hahahhahaha pero at the same time kasi iniisip ko like ang cowardly ng tingin ko sa sarili ko para gawin lang yung ez way out wc is to kms kasi luh ka pinalaki aq ng nanay ko tas siguro marami pa ako pwede magawa sa buhay pero at the same time talaga parang ayoko na talaga mabuhay. nagegets nyo ba ako haushfkajd di ko na alam medyo nagwword vomit na lang ako kasi di ko na talaga alam gagawin ko and i apologize kung may mini story sa loob ng story mga sinasabi ko.
ayun mga ates and kuyas out there pls lend me your wisdom sorry again for the messy long post, if binasa nyo po buong msg lemme hug u w consent kasi being able to talk abt this makes me feel heard hehe ayun lang ty

2023.05.29 13:18 SeaweedCareless9467 University of Bradford LLM thoughts? Career plan thoughts?
Hello!
Career changer here (32) Just finished GDL at King's college london (hoping for a 2:1..). liberal arts bachelors and previous masters in another field from abroad, 2:1. A few years of work experience in other fields. Planning to spend the next upcoming year 23/24 taking SQE1 and 2 using BARBRI prep course (I have a discount and its a lot cheaper than SQE at Ulaw/BPP) (My GDL has covered everything on SQE1). Also plan to apply for (many) vac schemes, mini pupillages, and TCs, going to law firm events.
I also would like to continue with my studies. I believe that the PG diploma in law which I have from King's college London will be poorly understood as being a two years in one program abroad, and I want to keep my options open to working in Europe, where 5 years of law study is the norm. I understand that for the solicitor route, having an LLM is not particularly important. However, if I ever want to go back to the US, not having at least an LLM I think will be a disadvantage. Likewise if I want to work ever in Brussels or Luxembourg I believe the academic qualification will be a plus.
I found the University of Bradford has several LLM programs as distance learning, and very cheap too! Under 7k. I hear that ULaw has a terrible reputation, and do not want to spend 13k for a horrible experience. I have had a look at online LLMs at Queen Mary, KCL, and Edinburg but all are highly specialised and extremely expensive (13k-20k). At QMUL there is an online int'l dispute resolution llm which does appeal to me, but at this early stage in my career I would probably just do it as a PG certificate because don't know if I will every work in that area, so just a couple modules is probably enough for me to get a sense of it.
KCL has a tax law LLM but I am not sure if I am really interested in this subject or just sort of interested, as I haven't had any chance to try studying it yet. I know I am interested in Tax policy and financial fraud and crime in general (love keeping up in these fields podcasts books articles etc.)
Aberystwyth also has a cheaper online LLM with a variety of courses (10k). I am not yet sure what I want to specialise in (or what type of law firm I will be hired at!) so would prefer to take a variety of courses regarding trade, commercial, environmental, and tax law. I want to do it online because I will not be living in the UK 23-24 in order to save money. My long term plan is to get a TC for Sept '26, and to start full time work in 24-25 as a paralegal or something else related to law, hopefully with a TC lined up for Sept 26.
My question is, does anyone have any experience taking online LLMs at Bradford or Aberystwyth?
Would an LLM from these low ranking schools (500-600 world ranking) reflect badly on my resume?
In terms of resume, am I much better off having my LLM from a top 10 school?
Am I better off waiting a year and trying to get into Oxbridge for an LLM/BCL for 24/25? (again hoping to start a TC in Sept 26)
Should mention, I pay home fees.
