2016 f150 2.7 EB. 108k miles. I’ve read about the oil pan leak issues, the front of my oil pan is wet with oil but the front of the engine all the way above the lower crank/harmonic balancer is also wet with oil, leads me to believe it’s the seal behind the crank pulley/harmonic balancer.
I don’t find anyone else talking about this. Does the oil pan leak exhibit oil up on the front of the engine too? Or would you also think it’s the crank pulley/harmonic balancer seal leaking ?

Hi, looking for some advice if possible. So I bought 76 plate mercedes C class estate in november last year from the Car Shop. Paid for a 2 year warranty with it.
A month or so ago the engine warning light came on intermittently so I rang car shop, they couldnt fit me in for 6 weeks or something but advised me I could take it to and VAT registered garage and the warranty would still cover the costs. So booked it into Mercedes Stockport except they couldnt find anyrhing wrong with. Apparently reset all the sensors, topped up fluids etc. So paid them £150 (not covered by warranty as no faults found) and off I went. Anyway 3 weeks later engine warning light comes on again and stays on now. So book it back in ar Mercedes, same dealer but a different branch. This time they find the car needs a new ad blue tank, a new battery and theres an oil leak thats wrecked the turbo and so the turbo needs replacing. All in quote me £4500!!!
So back on the phone to warranty company who after some back and forth agree to cover the ad blue tank replacement. They wont cover the battery as its classed as wear and tear (fine can deal with that). However they want a second opinion on the turbo as they claim it might be repairable as main dealers are very quick to just replace everything rather than repairing. Told mercedes this who have said it 100% needs replacing, they even offered to have their mechanic speak to the warrenty company and offered to make a video showing the damage and talk them through it but the warrenty company wont accept this.
Now the warranty company want the turbo removed and shipped to a 3rd party turbo specialist company to look over who will then either agree it needs replacing or will repair it and return it to mercedes to put back in my car. However mercedes are unwilling to do this as they wont take liability for any repairs or work carried out by third party company. When I've told warranty company this they've insisted they still want a second opinion and I need to find a garage who will do the work. They've also said if i drive my car away from mercedes and do any further damage to the turbo then they wont cover anything. So it now needs to go on the back of a truck somewhere at my expense.
So anyway off I pop to my two local independant garages, explain the situation and they both politely tell me, too big a job, sounds messy and they dont want to get involved.
Having I read the small print the warranty says turbos are covered unless the damage is caused by a foreign object... putting 2 and 2 together is this the angle the warranty company are going down and are going to claim the oil leaking in is classed as a foreign object? They have said to me on the phone they will cover the repair or replacement however I'm wondering if this the loophole they're going to try and use...
So now I'm feeling backed into a corner by both mercedes and the warranty company. Anyone got any suggestions? Do I keep dancing to the warranty companys tune and try and find a garage to take it on, or do I just pay for the turbo replacement myself and cut my loses? Or would the warranty company meet me half way with the replacement? Mercedes quote is £2000 all in for the turbo replacement (the ad blue tank they authorised was more lol).

I started my first playthrough directly at the highest difficulty (march of death or something), without using guides. I began with a magic build and I almost never used alchemy (I always cured myself with food only, and used potions and oils in, like, 2-3 occasions). I used this playstyle until mid game (more or less) dying almost never. I thought that maybe a Igni-based build was OP, so I resetted my skill points and build a light-attack bases build... But the game became even more disappointing.
I recall playing The Witcher 1, when (although the magic build was OP at the end of the game) I used to exploit all the mechanics of the game: Aard in some occasions, Igni in other, Quen, and a lot of powerful potions and bombs. Now, in TW3, I never tried the majority of bombs and potions; during my magic build I used only Igni and Yrden sometimes, now only Quen.

My car's manual has the following steps:
When I check the oil using the above steps, the oil level is a centimeter or two above T. All previous oil changes and top-ups were done at the dealership (Hyundai), so the engine shouldn't be overfilled
The level is lower when checking it after 30 minutes, but it's still above T
Is it possible for there to be oil on the side of the dipstick tube that can get on the dipstick when I pull it out? Or should all of it have settled after 5 minutes?
The oil viscosity and color seems fine, so I don't think it's a head gasket leak. The car is 7 years old and its last major service was less than a year ago
It's a 2016 Hyundai i10 1.1L with 29,000 km (18,000 mi) on the clock

The dipstick only has T and L, with T being above L
- Be sure the vehicle is on level ground.
- Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.
- Turn the engine off and wait for a few minutes (about 5 minutes) for the oil to return to the oil pan.
- Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, and re-insert it fully.
- Pull the dipstick out again and check the level. The level should be between F and L.

Context, 05 Chevy silverado extended cab Z71 package bone stock. Previously had issue where ABS light was on, 2hi worked fine, 4 low worked fine, 4 hi worked fine. 4 auto would throw a "Service 4WD" message when in low traction environment. I've ignored the problem for months as i don't mind having to engage 4wd manually. However recently i decided to test 4 Auto again and stopped by a gravel pit to see if i could replicate the problem. I could not. ABS light is still on and the only thing i've done to the truck is clean the fuse box and change the oil. What could have caused this?

Chevy Malibu 2011. My brakes don't work and it looks like I have a ruptured steel braided hose leaking brake fluid. I'm trying to find the name of the part. The steel braided hose is part of a series of hoses that connect the brake fluid reservoir to the ABS unit. There are hard lines then the steel hose then more hard lines.
If anyone knows what this part is called, I'd greatly appreciate it. Can I just replace the steel braided hose or do I need to replace the entire assembly of lines?

 | Hey guys, so I'm really stumped on this one and could really use some help identifying this issue. So last winter my car started to get dangerously hot, the tac would almost get into the red part on the gauge. And notice I was leaking coolant somewhere (thought it may have been a cracked hose or something) I would only drive it to the store and back for groceries (2 miles) and would turn the heater on when the car would start to get hot. Stopped driving it after maybe a month of just going to the store 2 times a week. Fast forward to now, I put water in my coolant reservoir to try and find where its leaking from. I drove around the block and noticed it wasnt leaking but radiator fluid had entered back into my coolant reservoir (no idea where that coolant was sitting in my car for the last 4-5 months) so I drove around a little bit and noticed where the leak is coming from. submitted by aleXANduurrr to MechanicAdvice [link] [comments] THE LEAKING SPOT: I believe it's where my bleeder valve is and it leaks between whatever the bleeder valve is screwed into and runs down onto a hose and then drips onto the ground. I topped of my coolant reservoir with cold water yesterday, drove it for about 3 miles and didnt seem to be leaking...but when I got home and turned the car off, it seems to very slowly leak out. I don't believe I have a blown head gasket because in the video theres no bubbles or air getting in there from the engine, checked my engine oil removing the engine oil cap and doesn't look like "chocolate milk" what people describe when a head gasket is blown. I'm not the most car literate person but I feel someone in here knows why I'm leaking coolant from that spot below the bleeder valve and what I should do to fix this. It's my only car, I'm in the process of moving and am taking care of my disabled father, money is tight and don't want to potentially do more damage to my car. PLEASE HELP!! 2023.05.28 22:38 AvgHeight510 Dealer didn't put the oil filler cap back on. How worried should I be?
Recently I took my car (2016 Mercedes) in for an oil change at the dealership. When I was driving it home (it's approx. 25-30 miles freeway driving between the dealership and my house) I went to make a stop at the store along the way, and as I was maneuvering into a parking space I realized something was really wrong. Smoke was billowing up from under the car and the HVAC started pulling in a ton of terrible burning-smell. Shut the car off and got out really quick because I thought maybe it was on fire, thankfully it wasn't, but pulled the hood up and found that the oil filler cap hadn't been put back on. There was oil that had sprayed up all over the engine bay which appeared to be the primary cause of the smoke, but you could see that there was also smoke coming out of the oil filler with the engine off (although I'll admit, this may have just been a trick of the light and physics from hot air coming out of the open oil filler).
Called the dealership and they immediately took full responsibility, covered the cost of a tow truck, refunded the cost of the oil change and offered to also cover the costs for an UbeLyft if I had anywhere to be right at that moment, and have provided a loaner car until it can all be fixed up. Their words were, "we're going to do whatever it takes to make this right."
Next day they started working on it, and one of the service managers said that it was 1-1.5 quarts low on oil. The paperwork for it (so far) says that they've confirmed it doesn't leak oil now that the cap has been replaced, they've steam cleaned the engine and all belly pans, found that it may still smoke or smell because oil was baked onto the catalytic converter. To check for damage to the engine, they removed the engine cover, air boxes, "charge air cooler" (it's a V6 engine with twin turbo), and all spark plugs, performed a cylinder leak down test (finding that each cylinder has 8-13 PSI loss, but spec is less than 25 PSI loss), an electronic compression test (finding each cylinder returning 202-215 RPM), and a bore scope test to check for metal shavings and found none. They also checked the undercarriage for damage from the tow truck.
The thing I'm really worried about is that this has somehow impacted the overall lifespan of my engine. I've never had a car with a bigger engine or turbochargers, let alone a German one, and everything I've read is that they turn into money pits as they age, especially if you don't keep care of them. I'd told both the service manager and the general manager of this concern, and had asked how they warrant their work in situations like this; they told me the manufacturer's 2-year unlimited-mileage warranty would apply to all parts that have been replaced. They did say that the amount of oil that was lost would not have starved the turbos while the engine was running.
Is there anything more that I can ask the dealer to do or or for them to check/look into for peace of mind?

Hi. I am a fresh driver who is having car troubles with my first car. It is Citroen C3 2016 with semi-automatic gearbox. The car is not displaying gears correctly on console, when in park mode he shows that it is in reverse, when in reverse it shows that it is in drive and so on. The gears are not changing as they used to be , seems like they are stuck in third gear constantly, even in manual mode and it's not responding . The child lock kicks in as soon as I put the key in ignition, previously it would lock after i started gaining speed. Everything started after I changed front tires a couple of days ago, the guy put down the car pretty fast and hard :f I needed to recalibrate the tire pressure, and problem went away for a week. Yesterday I couldn't start the car, and then all the other problems started to show up again. Sometimes it doesn't even starting off. The most common is "_" on the dashboard. No lights with errors. I have tried to reset the battery but didn't worked. Do you have any suggestions?
