How to fix garbage?

2023.06.09 04:12 Whisperfights How to fix garbage?

Hi all! I know Victrolas are garbage, but the 6-1 old time looking one was a gift several years ago and I've kept it up okay for the most part. I've tried to find videos to fix the ol girl and I'm really struggling. It plays slow compared to my friends players and digital equivalent of the songs. I feel like I just need to tighten the belt but I can't get to it without breaking it. Any ideas?
Also obviously this can't last forever, I'm getting more into collecting but I don't want to spend the good good until I have some space to keep the player on a proper dedicated location. The current set up isn't ideal, but hey, neither is the player.
If my old player isn't worth trying to fix, low end replacement options?
Thank you!!

2023.06.09 03:44 -Hezekiah I have joined the club, can I learn the secret handshake now? Tools question.

I have joined the club, can I learn the secret handshake now? Tools question.
TL;DR Just purchased my first Land Rover (2011 Land Rover LR4 HSE Lux 5.0L), need to replace my rad fan and clutch. What size fan clutch wrench does my specific model need? I have not managed to find a mechanics manual for her yet, so I am a bit in the dark on working on her in some ways. Happy to join the club!
This is the my short but eventful tale so far as a new Landy owner titled, “Smells like Stockholm Syndrome is in the Air”
I just purchased a 2011 Land Rover LR4 HSE Lux from a local shop. I have been looking for a while so I was already willing to take anything that looked to be in decent shape frame, body, and interior-wise as long as there were no major known issues with the mechanical aspects of it. Couple that with the fact that I have been swamped at work and could only make it to the dealership just before closing; let’s just say my inspection and test drive were less rigorous than I normally do for a used car. <—— (Can you smell the foreshadowing here?)
I drove the hour or so to get home from the dealer in bliss. She drove so smooth and I was amazed at how tight everything seemed to be on a car from 2011. I heard no rattling from the engine no matter how much I played and punched at the throttle so hoping the timing chain guides have already been done or at least will give me some time before I need to climb into the engine bay to replace them. In fact the only thing I saw wrong in my quick inspection at the dealer was a slight weep on the driver side valve cover seal which I had them knock some off the price figuring I would handle that myself to save some cash. All was right with the world as I pulled into my driveway, cast a glance back at my new ride, and went in to eat dinner and chill for a bit.
2 hours later… I head out to my new car, manual in hand to connect my phone and get familiar with everything.
This is where things fell apart…
First, as I sat there with the engine off but power on, going through my manual, etc I got a “low battery” warning. Seemed odd, but I have seen this before if you leave a car sit with the power on but no engine running. Next, I press the ignition button to start her up and get that alternator working… She tries, but just doesn’t have the juice to start. No problems at the dealer at all (of course). I try a couple more times and that is when she throws me a “low coolant” warning. I look underneath and sure enough there is a small puddle.
Opened the bonnet and sure enough, no coolant in the coolant bottle. I closed her up and went inside because at that point I just had no more “ducks” to give since it had already been a long day anyway. A day or so later, I load up some coolant, and boost her to life. Did some tests on the battery and she was around 11.1-11.8 volts sitting cold and dark, and with the engine at idle she was giving me about 14.6 volts. So, I had a bad battery that I replaced but at least the alternator seemed to test okay.
Just got her back from my eurocar specialist mechanic because I just don’t have the time at the moment to find the leak and fix everything. They charged me 1700 to replace the thermostat, water pump, some hoses, gaskets, and a drive belt. Which based on what my research showed was not a bad price. He also told me that she was throwing a code because my fan clutch was basically all but dead.
And so with that sad beginning, I have only gotten about 90 minutes total behind the wheel since I bought her a few weeks back. Here is hoping things get a bit less exciting for a least a month or two. :rofl
For those of you that read all of this, I am sorry for it being so long, but felt it was worth sharing my hazing to join the “Landy” club. :P
I will say for a 3 owner vehicle, she had a great maintenance history for her first 2 owners, with the third doing the bare minimum and I think it shows. But, once I get these few issues out of the way, she really is a dream in almost every other way. he says staring at his captor with hope in his eyes
So, my question is in the TL;DR above if you haven’t read that yet…
I look forward to learning more about working on her myself and will share my plans for her (hint, overland refit is in the plans this is my shocked face) later on.
Cheers!

2023.06.09 02:15 PlasticProcessor First close call today...

Was slowing down to make a left, blinker on, on a backroad. I was going to pull onto the far shoulder to finish slowing down as there was no one coming the opposite way and there was a line of cars behind me, it was a rural road and I was pulling into a dirt driveway so needed to be crawling. Thought it would be safer to do that rather than stop in the road to make the left. I realize legally it made more sense to pull off to the right shoulder and wait for the cars then make my left into the driveway on the far side, but I felt safer crossing onto the far side where there were no cars coming.
As I go to pull left into the far shoulder, the guy two cars behind me is tired of being held up by me slowing down and decided to pass as I'm pulling over, I checked my mirrors before starting but it was bad bad timing. I felt him next to me and luckily didn't complete the maneuver.
It was a weird situation, I had my signal on, even did the correct arm motion for turning left, and I wasn't going slow for very long...
At first I felt like I screwed up but realized it was the other person trying to pass in the oncoming lane that really messed up. I could've pulled off to the right hand side but didn't want to be stopped on the shoulder with a line of cars behind me. Sort of me messing up? but mainly him? I signaled properly, it was a legal maneuver. And rather than coming to an almost dead stop on the road I felt it was better to pull off onto the far shoulder away from the traffic to finish slowing down.
Again, rural road with 50mph limit, dirt driveway. Needed to slow down alot. Idk not sure.
Almost ended with me being inhaled by a Honda Ridgeline though so, very lucky.

2023.06.09 01:49 djajdjdj Help! I put Oil in transmission

2008 corolla, automatic. Ordered 2 gallons of ATF fluid So I was doing a trans flush on the vehicle, dropped pan and put new filter on and cleaned pan. Then dumped a gallon of Synthetic ATF in and flushed it out. Then turned car off.(Normal stuff) THEN when I went to add the 2nd gallon (to do another cleanse), I realize the liquid its clear and on bottle says 5w-30 synthetic blend MOTOR OIL. I put about .25 - .5 Quarts in. So not that much. I DID NOT START THE ENGINE. Immediately dropped pan and filter and drained fluid. I did however put car in neutral with engine off just to get it off the car ramps. Plan is to replace filter again and gasket and flush another time. Will transmission be okay with what was accidentally added? Thank you!

2023.06.09 01:48 HistoryMan2001 Did Burger King ever have outdoor playgrounds in Portland, Oregon??

Did Burger King ever have outdoor playgrounds in Portland, Oregon??

Burger King location at 632 NE Weidler St, Portland, OR 97232. It has a large outdoor area with a fence around it. That is usually a sign there used to be a large playground here.

A fast food outdoor playground that looks like what the Burger King location would have had.
When I was looking at Google Maps and Google Earth, I noticed there are some Burger King locations that have a large outdoor areas, and in most locations, that is usually a play area or an area that used to be a play area. But when going back to the earliest Google Maps street view photos and going all the way back to 2001 Google Earth Imagery some of these Portland locations, including the one mentioned above look like they had their playground already taken out by then.

The same Burger King location back in 2007. They had no playground at this time either.

The aerial view on Google Earth of this Burger King location in 2001. The outdoor space looks empty.
If this location or other locations in Portland had a playground, when would've they had them?? Did they take them out in the late 1990s?? Have fast food restaurants been phasing out of outdoor play areas for that long?? Did they phase them out more aggressively in Portland than other places?? I know in Sacramento, Burger King phased out of their outdoor play areas in 2008, and in Southern California, some Burger Kings still have outdoor play areas and have even replaced the play equipment with new equipment. The Carl's Jr location in my town kept their playground until 2021. What do you think about this subject?? Is it a mystery??

2023.06.09 01:11 mikadonna Is a 2005 Toyota Camry with 140,000 miles for $3,800 a good deal? I shopping for my first car and want something reliable.

I am going to go check it out today and will ask if the timing belt, ac belt, and water pump have been replaced. If not I’ll probably negotiate a few hundred dollars.

2023.06.09 00:11 Ok-Performance8331 Fix it or scrap it?

08 Kia Sportage LX 4cyl ~100,000 miles
Car needs: Valve Cover, Control arms, Shocks/struts (4), rotors, calipers, and pads. Tires were wearing unevenly on outer edge, vibrating at speeds greater than 80+, and pulling left when I would apply medium pressure to the brake.
All in repair cost is about 100% retail value of the car.
My repair knowledge ends at changing brakes, oil, batteries, etc.
80% driven less than 3 miles to work. 90% driven less than 15 miles per trip.
I am the original owner. The only major maintenance done on the car was timing belt replaced at 75000.
To clarify I’m not questioning the garage about whether the car needs the repairs. I’m just questioning whether it would be worth the repairs.

2023.06.09 00:01 Shard_Heart Automotive Lemon

Not sure if this is the appropriate placing for the question I have.
Recently on 14APR23 I purchased a Honda Accord 2012 with a local dealership in Virginia using an autoloan from the bank. The vehicle had only one incident reported on CarFAX for a minor rear accident which looked fine from first view. After my cousin who is a mechanic said the car was good to go, test drove it and had a look under the engine we went through with the paperwork, the car is bought "As Is"
After getting it off the lot, that's where my issues started, 20m After driving and pulling into a parking lot to gain my nerves driving for the first time I tried starting the engine which failed, the battery was bad. I managed to get the car back to the dealership on Friday and they replaced the battery on Monday. Cool! Then after I drove off, roughly two days later my TPSM system light went off, apparently its bad since my tires are still good to go, not a major concern. Ended up spending $200+ in oil and filters as I learned how to fix another issue which was an oil leak, the old filter placed in the vehicle was the one it was supposed to be installed per VIN number, swapping it for a smaller filter so it fit in the cradle I refilled the oil and now good to go. I deemed my headlights too dim to see the road when it rained so I went to a buddies and he helped me replace them for a brighter set, after getting the vehicle to his place on 13MAY23 he immediately informed me that I'd purchased a lemon car. We started changing the lights on 14MAY23 and discovered the Fog Lights which I asked at the dealership if it came with any and was informed primarily by my cousin but neglected to be corrected by the dealer that the car didn't come with any. The left fog light was missing and the right one hung loose in my bumper, not a big deal I can replace them. Checking the paint my buddy said the whole vehicle had been repainted and he ripped up the carpet in the back of the car to discover the back right side of the vehicle had been completely crumpled in, the forward side of the rear right wheelwell to part of the bumper under the tail light is completely made of Bondo, repainted so you can't tell. The side with the bondo is also surprisingly held in by wood screws and so is the rear bumper.
So the big problem and the reason deemed it's a lemon and even totalled is there is no structural integrity in the rear right of the vehicle.
Here comes the extra problems I am dealing with, being in the Navy I was stationed in VA, now I'm transferring to TX due to new orders. I didn't have the time to go through legal with the military to help my situation and detached from my command. The car originally had around 124k miles and now I'm running close to 130k due to traveling from VA, to CA for leave and back to TX. I do not know if the added miles and the time frame is extremely bad but I know it isn't good. As of now, I have refrained from informing the Bank or the insurance company and am waiting for a go ahead to do that as I start figuring how to take legal action or if I am stuck with the vehicle.
Side note, if I am stuck with the vehicle would I be able to install the metal guards that police cruisers have to try to protect what little I have left?

2023.06.08 23:55 SociallyF Discrepancy in Spare Parts Numbers for 2019 Genesis G80 - Need Help!

Hello everyone,
I am the owner of a 2019 Genesis G80 and recently ran into an issue while trying to replace some parts of my vehicle. The problem is that the spare parts numbers provided by the system do not match the actual parts in my car.
When I looked up the parts using my VIN (KMHGL41DBKU310499) Korean specifications, I got the following numbers:
However, the actual numbers for the parts in my car are different:
I'm at a loss as to why there's such a discrepancy. Shouldn't the parts numbers match exactly according to the VIN? I'm looking for a solution to this issue.
Especially, I'm planning to change the transmission oil, and I need to check the transmission filter number for this. If anyone has any information on this, it would be greatly appreciated.
If anyone has any suggestions on how I can find the correct parts numbers for my vehicle, or how the system could be improved to prevent such issues, I'd love to hear them.
Looking forward to your responses. Thanks in advance!

2023.06.08 22:43 HittingandRunning How to Get a List of All VINs in a Particular Recall?

I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. There was a recall of 393,714 Sonata vehicles in model years 2006-2008. I figure that's about 100% of the ones manufactured during the March 1, 2005 - January 11, 2008 window. Mine was manufactured in March 2006 so I'm having a hard time believing that mine wasn't included in the recall, especially since the part was on all trim levels. So, I'm trying to get a list of all the recalled VINs.
The NHTSA VIN tool indicates I have no recall work not done (but I don't know if after a certain time a recall is closed or falls out of the database). Same with other VIN tools online, which I think just draw from NHTSA. I spoke with the NHTSA who were kind but of little use. They say they don't have access to the VINs even though the numbers are in their database.
I also called the manufacturer. They say that mine wasn't subject to the recall. However, when confronted with the above information they insisted that only some vehicles were recalled and mine wasn't. Even when confronted with sales data that would indicate that likely 100% of the vehicles manufactured in the time frame were recalled. They also told me that this individual was the highest level person they'd let me talk to, though she didn't seem very high in the chain of command. Perhaps she was one level above basic customer service.
So, I want to figure out if mine was supposed to be included. This part was actually replaced in my car but it was more than a year before the recall and was done before they updated the part. I'm sort of wondering if this somehow removed me from the recall.
Thanks for any information or guidance you can offer.

2023.06.08 22:42 SkinnyTinkles I work as a lawyer. My latest client was an immortal with their soul on the line...

Now, I work in a relatively small town, pretty far from any major city, so I'm not taking on any newsworthy cases, and my clients aren't usually offering me the big bucks for my services. So, you can imagine my surprise when, yesterday morning, a client walked in carrying two heavy-looking sacks, sat down in front of me, and opened one of the sacks to reveal money. A lot of it.
Even more surprising was the fact the client was a young girl, who couldn't have been more than seventeen. Now, you can understand why I was already more than a bit skeptical, then she told me she was immortal and needed my help in changing that.
No sooner than I had awkwardly laughed, she interrupted me and made my jaw drop.
"I was Tommy O'Malley. Mr. O'Malley to you, back when I taught you mathematics for a few years in the early nineteen-eighties."
I was a bit confused now. I did have a Mr. O'Malley teaching me back when I was a teenager, I remember him mostly for being strict and for excessively mean. I noticed that the teenage girl had the same blonde hair and green eyes that he had. Perhaps they were relatives and this was some sort of prank? That would be a bit strange though, considering that I had heard about Mr. O Malley's death a little under a month ago.
I was trying to rationalize this in my head, but her next statement blindsided me.
"Near the end of the school year, your first year at the school, I kept you behind and yelled at you, saying you wouldn't be half the lawyer that your father was if you kept skipping classes and failing tests. You then started crying."
Wow. Yeah, I suppose Mr. O'Malley was a mean old man, but I can't see him telling that charming tale to his granddaughter so she could play a prank on me, not least after he was dead for almost a month. Now, I wasn't really convinced that old Mr. O'Malley had reincarnated as this teenage girl, but I definitely wanted to know more.
"OK, let's say you're immortal. Why are you here?"
"I was given this curse in the summer of 1641. I was only in my twenties, perhaps my early-thirties, yet I had fallen ill. I was coughing up blood for over a week and I knew I hadn't long left. One night, I sat down by a river feeling sorry for myself."
Now, this teenage girl had just told me that she's been around since the 17th century, but something about the sincerity and regret in what she spoke about had me drawn in. I've never been one to deny the existence of the supernatural, but I was still wary, so I let her continue speaking.
"I was lamenting that I had done nothing and my life was being cut short before my hair had gone completely gray. I had no wife, no children, and I was far from wealthy. Then I spotted him. Across the river, a man wearing rags, humming a tune, until he looked up at me."
The young girls tone of voice was one of anger, of hate, but her eyes looked fearful.
"He asked me what had me in such a foul mood on such a fine night. I grumbled that it was very apparent I was dying, and that was when he grinned, a terrible, wretched smile. He stepped across the river, and the water froze under his feet, and a cold chill went up my spine."
"He offered you immortality?" I asked, in response to her silence.
"I asked him what the cost was, to which he told me that I would find out, should I accept his offer."
"And what was the cost?" I found myself whispering.
"After I shook his hand and he walked into the forest, I expected for my sickness to go away, but I began coughing up even more blood, until I died, a little under three days later. But I awoke, feeling healthier than I had in weeks. I got out of bed, walked to a river flowing past outside, and found that the reflection I saw wasn't my own."
"And who's was it?"
"Mary. A girl I had shared a brief romance with when I was younger, but she was married off and moved to another part of the country with a richer man. My consciousness had replaced hers, and I had to resume her life. It was a miracle I wasn't thrown into a sanitorium by her husband for acting strangely, but he wasn't very attentive, let alone present most of the time."
"That's lucky, I think."
"Then I died for a second time a decade later from pneumonia, and awoke in the body of Mary's, or my, son. Then, forty years later, I died for a third time, waking up in the body of his, or my, son, twenty years later in the body of his, or my best friend. I was reincarnating as the people I cared about most. Whatever I made a deal with had played a cruel trick on me. This brand of immortality is worse than death"
"Got more than you bargained for, there." I mumbled, still trying to figure out if I believed her or not. On one hand, the whole idea was crazy. On the other hand, I was pretty convinced, plus she had a sack of money.
"So why'd you come to me? And why's it worth that big stash of cash?" I asked.
"Last I was Tommy O'Malley. I'd been Tommy O'Malley since he was a toddler. I'd got a good teaching job, but stupidly I had a kid. I abandoned him before he turned five. I foolishly hoped I could save him from the consequences of my wish. So I became a recluse. Only showing up to work."
"Were you being a mean old fella in case you'd wind up getting attached to any of us?" I laughed, but stopped after the young girl glared at me, and I swear it was the same glare Mr. O'Malley would give us when we talked in class.
She continued "But, then in 2008, my son came to see me. I don't know how he didn't hate me, but he said he wanted his kids to meet their grandpa. I should've turned him down, but I had gotten lonely, and little Kelly melted my heart."
I realized where this was going, and let her continue.
"Three weeks ago, Tommy O'Malley, that is to say, me, died in his sleep. I woke up as Kelly at around two in the morning, and ran to the edge of town crying. Then I saw him again. The man who granted my wish. I began swearing like a sailor at him, then he spoke."
"Immortality not all as you imagined it? That's alright. Meet me one month from now, at the river we first met. I can take back your wish, but it'll cost you."
Kelly stared at the floor and said "I'm can't let him have my soul, but my immortality needs to end, otherwise I might end up reincarnating as one of Tommy's grandchildren, or my siblings, I suppose."
I understood. I had to raise my daughter all by myself, I wouldn't be able to stand the thought of her soul being kicked out of her body. Still, Kelly was asking a lot of me.
I responded "You think my time at law school will help you cut a better deal with some demon? I'm a little out of my depth in that regard."
She opened the second sack to reveal books, scrolls, some printed documents and sharply said "These are some recorded instances of a guy who sounds like my curse-giver. Learn what you can, and remember, I'm paying you a pretty big portion of the money I earned as Tommy. Meet me tomorrow night."
With that, she left, carrying the money bag. I'm in my fifties now, I shouldn't be buying this, but somehow I was convinced, whether it be by the apparent sincerity of Kelly, or Mr. O'Malley, or whoever, or the money, I quickly turned my attention to the documents she had.
Let me tell you, these seemed more like fairy tales and urban legends, but I couldn't stop reading. All the tales originate from the same region, and involve our boy taking advantage of those who are on the verge of death. It always takes the form of a man with long black hair, wearing rags, with glassy eyes and an unnerving grin. Seriously, there was a real creepy old drawing of him included.
Before I knew it, it was dark outside. I read the last document, containing the coordinates, as well as a note saying to be there tomorrow at midnight.
I tried to sleep, but I kept seeing that old timey drawing of a blind young man with a sinister smile. The day went quickly, and soon I left to visit the destination. I was starting to believe this more and more, but the pay was better than what I was used to, so I arrived, and found Kelly with the money.
"Did you figure anything out?" she whispered.
"I've a hunch that the people whose bodies you hijacked, it has their souls now."
Tears began falling from Kelly's eyes, but they suddenly widened. I heard a humming from across the river, and it sent a shiver down my spine. A man in rags, with long hair began crossing the river.
"Did you find another way?" Kelly frantically asked.
"I'm sorry, but for the sake of your family, I think you'll have to let it take your soul."
"There's another way. I'm so sorry." she sobbed, then the blind young man put its hand on her shoulder.
I watched in horror as the life left her body immediately, yet she had a smile on her face, as she began to turn to dust and blow away in the wind.
"Shame. A soul that's been around for a few hundred years would've satisfied me greatly. But, I'm nothing if not patient, and I suppose you're an investment. How's it feel to be immortal, pal?"
"No. No. Oh no." I stuttered as I ran back to my car, hearing the young blind man chuckling quietly.
That was last night. I've been coughing up blood all day. I worry for my daughter's soul.

2023.06.08 22:20 title5864 Want a new, fun car with reasonable cost and maintenance expense

I have a 2007 Honda Pilot that is pretty old/beatup. 150k miles, hasn't been running well since the timing belt blew a month or two ago (had it repaired obviously). Now it seems like the catalytic converter, or all 3 maybe, is going out. We previously just had this car but recently bought a 2023 CR-V after the timing belt issue. The dealer offered me $500 for the Pilot so I just kept it. Now my wife and I have 2 cars which it turns out we like. I guess I could replace the catalytic converters, but the AC is also broken and I have been quoted like $4k for the AC alone. No idea what catalytic converters would cost? So I'm not sure if I want to keep the Pilot.
I want to buy something fun, ideally under $15k but OK with up to $20k, to have as a backup car in lieu of the Pilot. Then maybe drive the Pilot off a cliff or blow it up or try to get it stolen. My definition of fun is pretty broad. I have been looking at old pickup trucks, muscle cars like a Mustang or Camaro or maybe a Jeep Wrangler. I will probably pay cash for the car. What would you all do in my situation?

2023.06.08 21:54 Nokio_tea Used 2005 Honda civic with almost 300k (need advice)

Looking at an ad currently, a Honda Civic with almost 300k for 3500. Also says: “4 cylinder D17 motor had a bunch of work done in last 40k -timing belt /water pump -head work done, valves springs etc -new spark plugs -fresh oil change filter -Fresh coolant -Tires and breaks 80% -new afr O2 And aftermarket deck”
Is this a good deal and are there any concerns/other advice. I know next to nothing about cars so sorry I’m advance if these are dumb questions.

🔊SOUND UP🔊 Need some Help/Advice identifying a noise
I purchased a 2005 Honda Pilot with 126k miles on it in April. So far I’ve replaced the timing belt, tie rods, engine oil, and transmission fluid. The previous owner replaced the power steering unit but I’m still hearing a whine when I turn sharply leaving me to believe something may be wrong with the Power Steering. Was wondering if anyone has had similar issues or has any idea what this might be or how I can fix it?

2023.06.08 21:39 Ranadiel [Datamining] Looking Through 2.1.4's Files (Unreleased Content Spoilers)

Let's begin with the standard datamining reminders:
  1. All datamined info of unreleased content counts as spoilers, so please do not discuss anything from this thread or any other datamining thread outside of clearly marked datamining threads. If it is necessary to bring something up outside of one of those threads, make to clearly mark the spoilers (and preferably indicate that it is a datamined spoiler). Not everyone is interested in datamined spoilers, and you should respect that.
  2. All datamined content is unfinished (otherwise I'd probably be putting it in a guide), as such there is no guarantee that any content discussed in these threads will release in its current form or that it will even release at all. There is still content that I have datamined from 1.1, which may have been in the launch build, that is not available to players (e.g., Spirit Totem series and Sosiel Romance Follow Up Card Game), and anything I find now could potentially follow the same route.
Well this probably isn't as much content as last patch, but there are some eagerly awaited build options in here. And on that topic, I suddenly feel the urge to remind people I am just the messenger. No particular reason why, just felt like saying it. :P

DLC5

So I think I found the exchange for meeting Penta. Not going to spoil too much, but one of the translated lines made me laugh too much to not share: "My main specialization is music. The Tech League considered this area of work unproductive, and I was reprogrammed for research work in extreme conditions, as well as unquestioning obedience and respectful treatment. One of these three programs was installed correctly." Also I know this line will break a few hearts despite no one having seen her yet and her almost certainly being constrained to DLC5's stand alone campaign: "I offer mutually beneficial cooperation. Optional friendship. Romantic relationships - excluded."
More generally, I think I have the general flow for the DLC now. It looks like the goal is going to be to track down the seven shards of Sithhud so that you can kill/serve/usurp/w/e him. Honestly, the dialogue makes me think of Throne of Bhaal because it seems we'll be using portals to move in and out of our extraplanar home base to track down the bhaalsp... I mean missing shards and those who hold them.
I see some entries related to the Plane of Shadow, so I guess that we'll be making a trip there? No details at the moment beyond it exists.
And since it was a crowd pleaser last time, I'll mention that there are further mentions of goblins.

Archetypes

Hag Riven
Some new abilities from the entry last time
Dark Sister
Dark Sisters are feared for their ability to bend minds and sow discord. Some say these witches can watch their enemies from afar and can even corrupt the minds of the most innocent or loyal, including newborn babes and cherished pets. Dark Sister can't have animal companion

Items

These are all probably DLC things.

Spells/Abilities

Build Options

I think most of these are mythic things, but not all of them are clearly marked as such so some could be normal build options. And we finally get mythic armor and poison support for all those asking for them!

Assassin

So Assassin got some stuff. Not sure if any of it fixes the class's problems, but hey improvements! (I think)

Silly Stuff

2023.06.08 21:12 LittleRedB2300 Atrocious engine noise

Atrocious engine noise
Atrocious Engine sound
Hello all,
Just stopped at a mechanic who stated my condenser, belt tensioner, idler(belt pulley?) And belt need to be replaced. Said it's in the ballpark of 1900-2400 (located in south Florida). Recommended parts include an AC kit w/condenser and the other items listed above.
Is this something I can safely do myself? The tech that came out said I could, but I have never messed with AC systems before. Tips? Walkthroughs? Don't touch that or you'll get your hand blown off kid? Anything is helpful.

2023.06.08 20:29 Starfs Abs wheel speed sensor issue

Ok, so I'm having some issues with a honda crv 2008. The issue appeared for the first time in january (cold climate, ice/snow/salt). Where the brakes would sometimes start "pulsing" before the abs light came on and the car disabled the abs which made the pulsing dissappear. This got gradually worse and in May it was permanent at the start of every drive. The abs module is throwing DTC 17-01 rear left speed sensor open/short and DTC 18-01 rear left speed sensor failure. I tried teplacing the speed sensor with a new one but this changed nothing. Same codes and behaviour. I have checked the values coming from the speed sensor and compared to the right rear. The left rear has a lot of downward spikes in reported speed (Attached pictures of graphs for comparison). graphs I have checked the wires from where the wheel speed sensor connects all the way forward to the abs module with a multimeter. The resistance of both lines is about 2 ohms. I also measured the resistance of the new sensor itself which measured to 17Mohm. According to several internet sources this is very high, but it is the same for the rear right sensor.
Am I missing something? Is the new part bad or might it be the abs module itself? Hugely greatful for any advice, I am studying at the moment and haven't really got a lot of money to throw at the problem.
