2023.06.02 18:24 Existing-ish First NP adventure with the kiddo
 | My 12 yr old daughter and I started our National Park adventure at Big Bend by camping in the backcountry. We hiked 1.8 miles to our site and set up camp. The next day we hiked to Emory Peak via the Pinnacles trail and had the most spectacular view of the park. The hike to itself was pretty challenging (especially since it was our first hike of the season) but the climb up to the actual peak was easy enough that my daughter was able to make it up. submitted by Existing-ish to backpacking [link] [comments] Overall, our adventure into the park was amazing and instilled a new level of confidence that can only happen when challenged. We really enjoyed creating memories and sharing the views, especially at Emory Peak. We definitely want to go back and hike the South Rim and the Window trails, which all seem to be more popular seeing how they are less challenging/shorter. I wish we would have had an extra day or two so we could explore more but I’m thankful for the opportunity we had. Lessons learned from the trip, carry more water than you think you’ll need (we used approx 4 gallons in two days and could’ve used another litter or 2), always have a water filter handy (I had my Jet Boil to purify the water but waiting for it to cool down enough to drink when you’re thirsty isn’t fun), sleeping bag liners are a must for cooler nights (I had 0 spots and made a difference in how I slept), and make sure you have everything you need for the trip so you don’t have to make unnecessary trips back to the car. |

They have us a clue for the sequel last night. According to Spider-Man 2099, canon events have to happen to keep the multiverse woven together. We’re told that every Spider-Man’s life involves the death of a loved one (usually a dad who’s a police captain). In world 42, where Miles is stuck, his dad is dead. But! Against Miguel’s logic, Miles doesn’t become Spider-Man in that world. I’ll bet that the next film shows Miles actually saving his dad in his world, breaking out of the false assumption that a Spider-Man must be born from tragedy.

Well, I probably will but Id rather not drive into Austin for workouts and I'd like to make friends in Cedar Park.
So, Last year I did the Rookie in the Captex and the Kerrville Tri.... I complete the route but had to run& walk the run section. This year I'd like to do the Waco Tri's Aquabike and then Kerrvilles tri's Sprint. I did not buy expensive equipment last year. I used a 30 year old bike for the riding section.
I'm a 59 year old man who can complete 300-400 yards swimming and 10 miles riding NOW but need to start a running program.
I am looking for a workout partner who and help me make my running work outs. I could help you with your swim skills or biking. If you would be doing your first triathlon this summer then I'd help you with what you need to get there. I have taught 2 children to bike and swim. Last year I coached a friend in his riding skills so he could do his first tri.
I'd like to use "The complete Triathletes Training Manual" by Oliver Roberts for workouts.

2023.06.02 18:20 KathTwo3 Ordered my 1mg doses 2 weeks early...
They're now on order at my pharmacy. Crossing fingers they can get it. If not within a week I'll be calling around again. :) I mean, this is working. 7 weeks in, 7 lbs lost overall. Very minimal side effects, pretty decent appetite suppression most of the week. I want to keep it up! I feel like this is the kick in the pants to keep up the 500-800 calorie deficit and exercise every day. When I was 'just' doing that before, I'd lose about a half lb every two weeks. Not very motivating. :( I'd give up and lose progress after a month. I have the compounded option in my back pocket, which I may need to do now that my insurance is changing and who knows if they'll cover any bit of it.
Just blabbering. Seems like a lot of us are in this same boat of waiting to see if we can get the next dose. So weird, there are 3 marijuana shops within 5 miles of my house, but I can't get Wegovy that easy. LOL.

My wife and I are planning on purchasing a used car within the next couple of months as we need it to replace our current explorer. Our current vehicle still works, but the mileage is getting up here and we have 3/4 long road trips (3.5k miles) planned over the next year.
My question is, if we buy a car in the next few months with no down payment (on a 48 or 60 month finance), and then pay off the full balance of the car when our work bonuses come in next March do we only pay interest on the 6/7 months we've owned the car, or do we have to pay interest on the full value of the loan?
I've had a Google but it's not quite clear to me!

As of now, I have been engaging in cycling activities 2-3 times per week, with my longest recorded distance amounting to 32 km. The event itself spans a distance of 120 km, encompassing an elevation gain of 2000m. Furthermore, an alternative option of 80 km, a distance I have previously accomplished, is also available.
I am currently deliberating whether it is feasible to adequately prepare for the challenging 120 km endeavor within the next two weeks, or if it would be more prudent to opt for the 80 km alternative. Your esteemed insights and recommendations regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated.

 | I know it's a place that's been photographed by everyone but I still wanted one of my own. I drove all day just to sit on the cliff edge and take photos for 15 minutes. I sat there and enjoyed the view for another half hour or so then loaded up and drove home. About 1500 miles and 23 hours. I'm happy with the images I got. He helps fight the Spot a little and then doesn't do squat for the rest of the film except have a little back and forth with Miles in the elevator. You could've cut him out of the movie and the plot would pretty much stay the same, unlike Peni, Ham, and Noir in the first movie. A total waste of Daniel Kaluuya's time and talent. The man was in Get Out for pete's sake! How has he been reduced to this?

My theory is that Miles not only travels to a live action setting, but stays there for the majority of the movie. A couple days ago Sony announced a live action Miles Morales movie, but what if that live action movie is BTS? It was shown in ATS that they could travel to live action settings, so why can’t he do that for most of the next movie?

I just bought a slightly used car, maybe over paid it, but they are demanding i come back to resign the maintanence contract that was for 3yrs down to a 2y24k miles. They said they found out today that they cant do a 3yr on used cars and wont take no for an answer or even pitch in an fix the windshield nicks i found all over after i washed the car and even refused to change the key fob battery thats like .25 cents
Do i have to sign? If not are they forced to honor the agreement?

I finally figured out that this is what it is! Another ODF video played the same sound and stated that it’s a female communicating to a cub and vice versa. I heard this in my drive way! - My annual income is 140k gross. My take home pay is almost 5k per month due to high contribution for 401k, HSA and stock purchase plan. But I can reduce the contribution if needed.
- I have savings about $400K in investments accounts (stock accounts) excluding retirement accounts.
- I have auto loan of $700 per month which still have 2 years remaining
- My expenses excluding rent and auto loan is around $1200 per month

Anything in particular to look/listen for while on a test drive? Will get a proper PPI if all goes well, but just wanted to see if there was any issues in particular with those to watch out for on test drive.

I live 15 miles away from the airport and using my RTL SDR with a dipole antenna(from the rtl sdr kit) sized to the airband spectrum, I can clearly hear approach and radar. When planes approach to land they go over my home to the airport and ironically, if they are a little bit far I can hear them crystal clear, but as soon as they are very close to me over my head, the signal becomes so loud that is inaudible and when pilots transmit, I can only hear a long beep, but as they go away from me into the runway, the signal becomes clearer. I’ve used both SDR# and OpenEar and they both have the same issue, even if I turn the gain lower. Any advice ?

Me and my brothers close friend (18M) randomly started pulling back from hanging w us but still text and sends us stuff every time we say we miss him or ask him to hang he just ignores Or responds to our message after. He is my brothers best friend and me and him had just started to date and get really intimate and at the peak of our relationship he just seems off but says he doesn’t have anything going on. He’s hung out w me if I happen to see him in public or when I’ve dropped off stuf at his house he’ll come out and talk for a few hours but he has no reaction to anything emotional or when we ask him to hang once a week, I’ve asked if we’ve made him upset and he says no but he still text us everyday. I just don’t understand what’s going on we live less than 2 miles from each other he barely works and we used to hang out every 2 or 3 days and for the last month it’s been dead energy, advice?
(Mayb this is the ebb and flow of an adult relationship but I hate the silent treatment or any change of vibration as I have a lot of anxiety and it’s making me feel like I’ve messed up on some degree )

All I want to do is use my SkyMiles for a hotel, but from what I’ve seen that isn’t possible? I saw the delta vacation packages, but those require you to purchase a hotel AND a rental car or flight.
