Before anyone asks, jumps to conclusions, or calles me a Karin or whatever, let me explain.
I am a special needs girl with Aspergers Syndrome (Autism) and ADHD. I also live with my single mother. And we're the kind of family who has low income.
This was something that started to happen when I was still in high school. Probably when I was 16 or 17. Somewhere around there, I guess. But, recently the old pastor at the church (I usually attend to) had left, for whatever reason it was he had. Really nice guy. Respectful to everyone, minds his own business, and supports anyone at the church in need for help. Details are very fuzzy, so, I don't remember much of what he said.
He announced that starting the next day, a new pastor will come in and take his position, since he'll be leaving. I was a bit sad, but, I was thankful to him for everything he's done until that day.
Like he said, after church ended, a new pastor came in and introduced herself. Let's call her "Anna" . After "Anna" introduced herself and explains she's the new pastor who will be permanently filling in for the previous pastor, we interacted and got to know each other for a little bit.
She was really nice too.
At first, I thought I was gonna get along with her well. But...I was wrong.
In my 2nd or 3rd year of highschool, my mother came up to the pastor and asked her for the churches' wifi password for me, so I can do schoolwork and graduate, job hunt etc. in my spare times, since we didn't have internet at home. She agreed and told me the wifi password and I was able to use it anytime as I needed to.
Like my mom said, I used the wifi to do schoolwork online. And when I was finished, I job hunted.
Gradually overtime, "Anna" started to complain to me about the whole wifi thing, even though I always take a break from it, grab a bite to eat and rest a while at home. I'm not even inside the church building during those times when church isn't open. Instead, I sit outside on the premises.
And around winter time, I stay in the house.
I don't recall what it was I said to her, but I was being polite.
Keep in mind. I was still in school.
This was where things got worse after that.
As school started drawing near to the end and summer is approaching, the complaining from the pastor continued. Until one day, when "Anna" complained to my mom, making it sound like my mom is a really bad mother and upsetting her, after we kindly asked the pastor for help in getting groceries home for us, as a one time only thing, since we don't have a car and have unintentionally bought too much groceries.
Originally, I was gonna repay the favor to the pastor and thank her for helping us, but when she made it sound like my mom is a terrible mother, raising me, I got really pissed off, knowing damn well my mother isn't a terrible mother.
And when someone makes me mad, I get really scary.
After that happened, I immediately gave the pastor the riot act and told her she has no right to treat my mother like a child, nor does she have the right to tell my mom how to raise me "the right way" and that before, I was originally gonna repay her as my way of saying thanks, until she started running that mouth about my mom.
Since then, "Anna" immediately had went silent and never said a single peep about my mother.
But now, her complaining about me using the wifi had resumed. Mostly to me this time, since after I gave her hell for what she said to my mother.
To make things worse, "Anna" changed the wifi from 10:00 am through 9:00 pm to 10:00 am through 2:00 pm. She even called me out during bible study at church by talking about anger, which is something I had issues with during grade school but managed to get it under control until now.
Because of this, and the wifi time limit being shut off, I failed my current grade and had to repeat it again, because my schoolwork wasn't finished and wasn't turned in on time. I even lost the chance to get the job I wanted because of that.
One time, she went outside and said I was "intentionally killing the baby birds" one day, when I was sitting outside a few feet away, near a bird's nest and watching the mother bird feeding her babies. Both the bird and I were minding our business too, only "Anna" scared the mother bird off when she went outside, before accusing me for something I didn't do, that she did.
It also made me really mad that she's calling me an animal murderer, because 1) I'm an animal lover. 2) I don't have the heart to hurt or kill them, and 3) my mother has a degree in veterinary and is very knowledgeable about animals. And she told me I definitely wasn't doing anything wrong to the bird, and the birds are perfectly fine.
Because if I was really messing with the birds and the nest, I would've got attacked by them instead.
After I left the church permesis, I talked to my friends and explained the situation about it and we all agreed on one thing. "Anna" is being irrational and self-centered. She wasn't being a good pastor either, because a pastor is supposed to do the things a pastor normally does at church. Not complain constantly to a church member about them using the wifi and things of that sort.
My mother, who's also the church's minister, is the perfect example to a good pastor. "Anna" was the opposite.
As of right now, I'm currently looking for advice on how to deal with this and make the pastor leave me alone as well.
Since then, I've completely stopped going and really hate attending churches now
So, am I the jerk for going to church, not expecting all for this to happen?

I have never had such a frustrating experience with any other piece of hardware as I have trying to keep a connection to my wifi network with this M1 MacBook Pro 14”.
It can be connected and have no access while my other device is connected aok
It can be connected and only receive 30kbps , perpetually forever
It won’t connect other times it just disconnects
The laptop won’t forget network settings, then it doesn’t accept the password.
To use this hardware you pretty much have to be connected to a network and yet the thing seems to only want to ruin any network connection.
It is the only issue with this thing, but it pretty much makes the entire experience a nightmare and the laptop left unusable just wasting away. Just needed to vent, I’ll reset my router now for the third time

I am using the standard library net/http package for my web app. And also have a custom server side rendering system that uses the html/template package to serve backend stuff to the frontend if that matters. My problem is that I want a simple(or as simple as it can get) system for authentication(username and password) in which the user logs in, and based on that login, they can access protected sites Let’s say I have “/admin”. I want to make it so that only if they are logged in, they can visit to “/admin”, they can see the page. To take this a step further, how can I check and see if they have the role of admin or some sort of identifier in their account to only then allow them to “/admin”. I am making a website that needs login information and only show protected pages based on their login. Help is appreciated. Thanks

2023.06.03 00:15 Tyrest_Accord Is anyone playing Diablo 4 early? I have a question about sign in.

I asked a similar question on gaming and it got removed for some reason. I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask.
Does Diablo 4 require you to do any of the following?

Create a battle.net account? or Blizzard account or whatever it might be called on console.
Link that account to your psn in order to play online.
If it requires linking a psn account then is the game still playable offline?

My brother bought Street Fighter 6 last night and in order to play any of the online modes you have to link a Capcom ID to your psn account. Problem being that I no longer remember the password for my Playstation account and it's connected to an e-mail that I haven't actively used in almost 2 years at least.
I think I had the password stored in my phone. But that phone died so entirely it was basically not worth fixing and got trashed in a move out of spite.
Currently contemplating creating a brand new account connected to a new account solely for Street Fighter 6. I'd rather not have to remember to log in to that account for Diablo 4 as well.

Hi all - for anyone familiar with the software, I recently downloaded Gamban and it really is a life saver. I have tested numerous websites (even the offshore ones like Bovada, MyBookie, BetOnline) and it really completely blocks you from accessing any of them. The problem is, it takes two seconds to delete the app and configuration on your phone. We all know as compulsive gamblers, simply using will power to stop yourself from deleting it and gambling won’t work. That said, does anyone have any technical advice on how to prevent myself from deleting the app and/or configuration that it downloads onto your phone? I have an iPhone 13. I’ve seen others say that you can use the “Screen Time” settings to have someone else set a password for you but I haven’t been able to figure out how to do it. Thank you!

One of my friends came over and wanted to know the wi-fi password so he flipped the router to see it but in the process disconnected a cable (don't know what it is called, but it is not the power cable). SmartMove only has the $43 option for applicants to pay for it directly. Otherwise I have to collect application fees. I really do not want to collect checks or online app payments. I am trying to gear up to do this remotely and I do not want to wait for checks to arrive before conducting each screening.
I just have three doors right now. Two are long-term tenants. I should have 2-3 more doors per year. The maximum I can charge is $25/person. I think I have to collect fees and do the admin work for that now or else tenants would pay more.

So i tried recently playing with my friends after a long time, and noticed that the game said my connection was good even though i was lagging horribly for my friends.
Btw my home network goes something like this: ISP Route Modem Access point My pc
So i tried port forwarding for MK11 on my tp-link (Archer VR300) router in the virtual servers tab. I think i've done everything correctly. I've set my internal ip as the ip of my computer through ipconfig and set the ports 27015 as the internal as well as external port and i've set the protocol to tcp or udp. I've done this process for the rest of the ports. But for some reason my ports were still closed as i tested them on some open port checker tools online. I've even tried to open all of my ports through DMZ and that still didn't work. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Which operating system is currently recommended? A specific NAS OS, or a specific Linux or Windows? Does such a NAS system like "OpenMediaVault" (or others) also have encryption? So that you can only access a share with a password. And data is protected even if the NAS is physically accessed.
A use as NAS is primary. But it would be nice to be able to use other applications as well.
E.g. that automatically all retrievals of video files that contain only DTS Live are transcoded to Dolby. Only the sound, not the video. And only when retrieved from the Samsung TV. Unfortunately, Samsung has discontinued DTS support. Although it would not require a license to output the unmodified DTS bitstream to the audio receiver. But companies like Samsung don't understand that.
The possibility to host one or more websites would also be interesting. Not mandatory, because it should have no disadvantage compared to shared space. So a layman capable admin panel (like DirectAdmin etc), Full variable URL display etc.... If you have 500Mbit/s upload rate, you want to use it ;-) .
Access via webinterface would be very handy of course. Especially if you store the device somewhere in the house or in the basement without screen and keyboard. Possibly even in a safe. Windows would need "TeamViewer" etc..
Which functions could such a device still perform with which software?

2023.06.02 23:28 incandesantlite College I Was Accepted To Accepted Me Into A Program I Don't Qualify For... Now I Don't Know What to Do

For background I have worked in food service and hospitality for almost 20 years. I am employed as a manager in a hotel running a banquet department. I make good money. I like my job. I decided to go back to school during COVID since Financial Aid would cover my Associates degree. I went to a CC and earned two Associates degrees. I was planning on transferring to a four year college, I will call them school X. After my first semester at CC I began exploring transfer options. I was told by school X I could apply to their school under a specific articulation agreement between my CC and school X. Under this agreement I would be eligible to transfer up to 90 credits to school X and then would receive reduced tuition for the rest of my time at school X. The BSBA which I was going for at school X is 100% online. The fact I could transfer in so many credits and it was online made me choose school X. I have been in contact with the Academic Advisor at school X for over two years and I was even signed up to begin classes in the Fall at school X.
The trouble came after I graduated from CC. I went to take summer classes and financial aid denied me because I was not enrolled in a major. I explained to financial aid that I am transferring my credits to school X. My CC asked me to provide an acceptance letter from school X saying that I was accepted to the school and into the specific program I wanted to be in under the articulation agreement. And they did send me and the CC the acceptance letter stating my intended major and that I was a part of this program. Well it turns out I am not eligible for the program because I did not major in Business Admin Transfer. The advisor at school X has known what my CC major was (hospitality management) since I started attending CC. We even spoke about majoring in hospitality management at school X like I did at CC but it would require me to take in person classes and since I work full time I need to take online ones.
I really don't know what to do right now. I kind of feel like a kid who was told they were going to Disney only to have my parents say "just kidding!" School X is saying that it was an oversight on their end and that I don't qualify for the program I've been planning on joining in the Fall.
So now I am debating whether it's even worth it to go to a four year school and get my Bachelors in BA. I work in management but that is not what I am passionate about. Most jobs in my field require either a degree or equivalent experience. A degree is definitely not a requirement if you have the right experience. And I don't see myself climbing much higher up the corporate ladder, I like where I'm at right now.
I just don't know what to do. I don't even know if I want to continue with my summer classes at this point. I'd kind of like to just call it a day and walk away with my two Associates degrees and forget about my BA.
Any thoughts?

Would love some setup help please. Last year, I sold our Orbi mesh network, wired the entire house and put in an Omada network. I successfully setup several VLANs (parents, kids, IoT, and guest). I’ve noticed that everyone would have sporadic connection issues where you’d have to disconnect and reconnect to WiFi when 1 device mysteriously wouldn’t connect. I used this as a perfect excuse to buy what I wanted from the beginning which was a FWG router in hopes it would be more user friendly, provide parental controls, and hopefully fix my intermittent connection problems.
So my FWG arrived today and I’m completely confused. Do I need to continue running my Omada controller? I’d prefer to not administer everything from Omada.
Not even sure I really need VLANs. Was using that as a way to really segment IoT devices and hopefully apply some parental controls to the kids. But the VLANs are also a pain because I have to switch WiFi networks to use airplay to my tv. Kids can’t print to my printer, etc.
Currently I’m running the following: ER605 router OC200 controller SG2008P managed switch 2 more Netgear unmanaged switches - 1 for parents network and 1 for IoT network 3x EAP610 WAPs
Then of course the FWG I just bought.
Knowing what I’m looking for (keeping IoT off my laptop and parental controls for kids) can someone help me with the easiest setup? I’m not a network admin and far from it. Just wanted a little better speed and control than some of the consumer products offer. Thanks!!

My question is: -Would it be stable enough to use that phone as a 5G modem and extend the wifi of the hotspot using another wifi router to cover my apartment
Or
Am I better off buying a dedicated 5G router like oppo 4G CPE t1a?
Obviously just buying a wifi router to use with my old phone would be cheaper than the 5g router, but I am worried about instability since I am working online from home and attend many online zooms
And advice specially from experience would be appreciated.

Disclaimer; i'm not asking for medical advice just information/understanding. I will not stop meds based on any info you share. I do not have access to a psychiatrist anymore. My gp encourages me to take my meds and doesn't take my concerns seriously, i cannot wean off without her prescribing smaller doses. I cannot remember passwords, words mid sentence etc i preform really poorly on memory recall tests that they give to people with dementia. I am studying next year. I am doing really well in life and mental health i have not had bipolar issue for 5 years, i have a therapist and my life is bigger than ever and feel like myself since having this therapy etc. Which med is it more likely to be? I have read conflicting information online re venlafaxine. My bloodwork is good im told.
I'm on lithium slow release 800mg and have been around 9 years, use to be on 1200 and venlafaxine xr 225mg 5 years. I use to be on lamotrigine as well for about 5yr which ive been off for 6 months. It certainly helped foggy/confusion but my memory has not improved. I do not use any drugs or alcohol.
Please provide me with some science info to help me have a better discussion with my doctor. My mental health is important but so is my brain. I'm 33. Thankyou so much for your time.

Hi, hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.
Last week on Thursday my internet went down. Im in the Denver metro area. I thought my router / modem (still fairly new) had flaked out, purchased a new one. The new router even after being registered wouldn't come online. I could intermittently get out to Comcast DNS at all 75's, but the latency was pretty bad, when it worked at all. Ping times were ranging from 5-10 ms (fine) to thousands, then back down to 5-10 ms. Several pings were dropping, usually loss was at about 10%.
Some type of line work was performed after a visit from the "is the modem plugged in" guy, call center people are 100% powerless to help. The router came online and I *thought* we were in a good place.
Next morning while things have improved (usually the router is online at least) I'm still seeing the same issues, ping loss and wild variance in ping times, even to the local GW. My router logs are filled with:
MDD message timeout;CM-MAC=xxxxxxxx;CMTS-MAC=xxxxxxx;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;
I've changed the Wi-fi channel to an unused one and still seeing the same types of things, massive variance in ping times and the occasional timeout (between ~8-20%)
Am I missing anything? I'm debating returning this router for a new one, but I have some doubts that 2 fairly new modem / routers have flaked on me in a week. Any suggestions on how to go directly to "I need a line technician to see what's going on here"? Another round of some schmuk saying "your modem appears to be offline" might be more than I can handle right now.
Any help is appreciated, another week of explaining to my manager why I'm unable to assist our customers will not be well received.

I want to store files uploaded by users but I am not sure if storing in database is a way to go as I have read online about size limits, performance issue, etc. What are other available options? Also I am not using spring or any other frameworks.

I’ll just get straight to the point. I have a severe addiction to the internet, whether its on the computer or phone. I spend a little over 12 hours per day online and i’m doing poorly in school. I asked my parents to help me by changing the password or holding the phone, but they got angry and responded by telling me to have enough willpower to just not touch the phone (I know, very helpful) I need help managing the phone addiction, as if nothing else works I might just stop handing in any school assignments to see if my parents finally help.
