2023.06.03 06:40 Some_Personality8379 [WWE/Street Fighter] How would it look if the characters from Street Fighters were celebrity athletes with managers and contracts, and they were also sign to companies?

I was going to used UFC in the title. But UFC is real, WWE is the closet thing to a fictional combat sport. Street Fighters and Tekken were my favorite fighting games growing up.
So I made WWE the setting for Street Fighters characters. There arena will now be a square circle. FYI the Kayfabe aspect of Pro Wrestling is taking seriously here.
I'm more interested/curious about the company side of this what if question though. Meaning how would this combat sport company look as a business.
I have a few questions.
1: How would the sponsors react to the violence that can happen in matches? Violence like energy blasts being shown in the ring.
2: Would this form of combat sport rival the UFC/MMA? Or even make the whole sport of MMA lose popularity?
3: How would society react to all the violence? Will people want this form of combat sport off live TV?
4: At what level would the corruption in this combat sport be?
5: How would company owners react to fighters with superhuman abilities competing with fighters that are normal humans?
6: In terms of feuds, or beefs between fighters. How dramatic will the fighters rivalries be? Will it be as exciting as a Jerry Springer episode? Or will it be as boring as two dudes just rolling around on the floor for 20 minutes?

2023.06.03 05:15 Standard-Ad-7504 I need more beholder-kin to fill the gaps in CR between the ones we already have

Note, I tried posting this on a different subreddit and got no help so I figured I'd just put it here instead.
Hey so I'm going to start a beholder campaign, by which I mean the antagonist is a beholder and the whole thing is beholder themed. I want it to go from a lower level, maybe 4-ish all the way up to something high enough to fight a proper beholder. I'll probably make level ups relatively frequent because I don't expect the campaign to take super long lol, but anyway the problem I have is that there aren't really that many beholder-kin enemies for me to use. I'm going to have to homebrew some, but I don't have enough ideas for the whole campaign so I figured I'd ask if any of y'all have any cool ideas or links to other homebrew beholder-kin I can use. Also, I'm relatively new to dming and this game will be taking place at a game store where I've been a player for over a year but haven't dmed at yet so tips would be nice.
Btw, the reason I am using so many beholder-kin is because the beholder antagonist is far more likely to dream up beholder-kin minions than other beholders are at the cost of not being as smart.
Also, the campaign is meant to be lighthearted and campy, just FYI.
Edit: yes I already searched D&D beyond on which I have access to pretty much everything thanks to content sharing, so I already know about stuff like the gazer and the spectator and the hives and all that.

2023.06.03 04:41 ItemThink Advice Required

Hi so currently I have an offer with Cardiff for biomedicine in the UK. I got rejected from medicine at all other unis in the UK. I'm considering applying to Greece, Cyprus and/or the Czech Republic. Is it worthwhile to attend universities from these countries or to take a gap year and apply to the UK again? Apart from that, are there any other countries that are worthwhile to apply for medicine? I only know English. Is it possible to do a biomed degree in the UK and then pursue post-graduate/graduate level entry for medicine in the EU?
FYI: I'm not an EU citizen, I'm an Indian citizen. I'm not interested fees-wise, I know the EU has cheaper prices than the UK but I'm more interested in the quality of education and future outcomes with degrees from the three countries I've written about above. Thank you in advance

2023.06.02 17:42 Standard-Ad-7504 There are not enough beholder-kin and I need more but don't have enough ideas.

I don't mind if they're basic as long as they can contribute to filling the huge CR gaps between beholder-kin. Also, I'm relatively new to dming and this game will be taking place at a game store where I've been a player for over a year but haven't dmed at yet so tips would be nice.
Btw, the reason there will be so many beholder-kin despite them supposedly being rare is that the beholder antagonist is rather special. Basically, he's not quite as smart or good at planning as other beholders, but he is significantly more likely to dream up a beholder-kin minion to add to his retinue.
This is intended to be a lighthearted campy campaign with a goofy over planning villain, just FYI.

2023.06.02 17:20 Drytchnath Need help with Druid build (level 20)

I'm running the following skills:
I wanted to make a storm based druid...but this feels awful. Lightning Storm takes way too long to ramp up, regaining spirit is super slow and tedious and despite my best efforts i cannot mitigate enough damage on Veteran tier to avoid dyingin every other elite fight trying to complete the class specific dungeon/quest in Scosglen.
Since I apparently have a shit-tier build can someone who has progressed further throw me a bone and suggest something that actually feels good to use?
Also, as an fyi i have very limited play time and have not yet acquired any aspects from dungeons. My gear is half blue, half rare. I'm going to have to lower the world tier as well because due to scaling I am actually getting weaker with each level up.

OK so I'm seeing alot of people getting what they wanted in the Yeezy drop. Do you think they produced way more just before the Kanye twitter wig out went down?
Also I heard this was only 25% of all the Yeezy stock Adidas has. Can anyone confirm this?
FYI I copped 6 Yeezy drops, never had so many @ retail! Both excited and broke and in big trouble with the gf 😎

2023.06.02 09:14 Mean_Lawyer7088 Fresh 50 - Progress Roadmap

Hello everyone,
I finally reached level 50, but now I have some new questions.
It has been more than 10 years (and I felt like I was 12) since I last played Aion on this patch. So, my question is about the progression paths at level 50, considering that the level 55 patch will be released in a month.
Also, I'm curious about your favorite PvP spots and AP (Abyss Points) farming locations at the moment.
Thank you!
FYI: LvL 50 Sorc, SR Set, some Accessoire out of Siege Dungeons/Dungeons

2023.06.02 04:10 itsyourlife007 Side Hustles from Home - 40 Microtask Sites to Make Money Online

Side Hustles from Home - 40 Microtask Sites to Make Money Online
Side Hustles from Home - 40 Microtask Sites to Make Money Online
Need ideas for side hustles from home? Today we are sharing 40 microtask sites to help you make money online from the comfort of your home. This article will cover microtask websites and user testing websites. Microtask websites pay you for completing short online tasks in your spare time.
Please keep in mind, that there are far more workers/ testers than jobs available. It’s a great way to make some fast and easy cash, but it isn’t going to pay your mortgage. Also note that you will need to set aside money yourself to pay taxes.
User testing websites pay Testers to test various websites, applications and even games. Payout varies but you can stack some cash as a side hustle.
Examples of common tasks include:
• Testing apps and websites
• Business listing verification
• Captioning videos
• Quality rating gigs
• Monitoring social media
• Search engine evaluation
• Helping with machine learning tasks
• Data entry

Of course there are pros and cons to microtasks you should consider:
Microtask Pros:
· Low barrier to entry
· Wide variety of jobs
· Can earn real cash
· Numerous companies to work for
· Global income opportunities
Microtask Cons:
· Low hourly earning potential for many websites
· Jobs can get dull after a while
· Doesn’t really advance your career in a meaningful way
Before we get started with the list, if you want to make much more money than these microtask sites offer and not be at the mercy of available gigs, check out my Reddit Traffic 101 guide. It has a simple side hustle from home formula, to start making money online using Reddit.
Microtask Sites
Side Hustle from Home #1. 1Q - is an app that pays you to answer questions. Each time you answer a question, you get paid $0.25 instantly, and the app sends the money to your PayPal account. For making $10 fast, this is a good option.
Side Hustle from Home #2. Analysia – will email you when a test is available that matches your profile. You can expect to complete specific tasks on a website while having your screen and audio recorded. Testers are paid $10 per tests, which typically take around 15 minutes, and are paid via PayPal.
Side Hustle from Home #3. Appen - jobs pay as high as $14/hour+. On Appen, you apply to a specific category of work, which includes rating jobs, language based jobs, or micro tasks. Payments are made via PayPal or Payoneer. Hourly pay rates differ by geographical locations. US & Americas – $13.5, UK & some Europeans – $14, Asians – $7, Indians – $3. Some projects pays as high as $21/hr.
Side Hustle from Home #4. AppStation - pays you for playing games. You’ll earn coins that you can redeem for money to your PayPal account, or you can opt for a gift card. You can cell gift cards online in exchange for cash.
Side Hustle from Home #5. Clickworker – is a task site platform where you can get paid for writing, translating, researching, and collecting data. Create an account, fill out your profile, complete a qualification assessment, then bid on jobs. Payments are made by SEPA bank account transfers or PayPal once your account reaches 5.00 euros and your tax information has been completed.
Side Hustle from Home #6. Enroll – Enroll lets you do a variety of tests from any device – computer, tablet, or phone. You may review a new logo, give feedback on website clarity, or complete some other task. They pay via PayPal (threshold payout is $1). A brief test can earn you between $0.5 and $2, but some tests pay as much as $10 depending on the complexity of the project.
Side Hustle from Home #7. Fancy Hands – is one of the most popular platforms out there for finding work as a virtual assistant. Popular virtual assistant tasks on Fancy Hands include making phone calls on someone’s behalf, scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements, and data entry. Fancy Hand tasks pay $3 to $7 to start, but you can earn more as you work with the same client or if you are promoted to a managerial position and manage other virtual assistants. You must have an audio headset to work for Fancy Hands. Payments are also made biweekly through Dwolla.
Side Hustle from Home #8. Figure Eight – has microtasks that include, social media categorization, content moderation, business listing verification, and image tagging are some of the jobs you can expect to encounter. Tasks pay from a few cents to a couple dollars.
Side Hustle from Home #9. Grindabuck – is perfect for anyone who isn’t into surveys. It is a decent passive income website if you run their video rewards portal in the background. It is available in Canada, the United States, Germany, Australia, and the U.K. GrindaBuck offers PayPal, Bitcoin, and gift card rewards.
For PayPal, you can request as little as a $1 payment if you’re a VIP with that option. As a level 1 VIP, you’ll need to wait until you have at least $10 in your account to cash out that much with PayPal, which equals 1025 points. $1 in PayPal cash is 125 points. Bitcoin payments cost less – $5 is 500 points and you can get a bit of a discount for $25 in Bitcoin with 2450 points. Amazon cards are in $1, $5, $10, and $25 denominations, while Walmart cards are in $5 and $10. Each one will cost you 100 in points for every dollar (so 1000 points for a $10 gift card, for example). GrindaBuck says that all gift cards and payments should arrive within 12 hours, but sometimes can be even quicker.
Side Hustle from Home #10. InstaGC – pays you to complete different tasks online, like surveys, watching videos, visiting websites, testing apps, shopping online, product samples and more. Like other online survey sites, each InstaGC reward point is worth one cent which makes 100 points worth $1. InstaGC requires you to have 100 points to request your redemption. Redemption options include gift cards, direct deposit, eChecks, PayPal, sweepstakes entries and charitable donations.
Side Hustle from Home #11. IntelliZoom – is the user testing panel put together by UserZoom. You can do testing for them either from your mobile device or your computer. You just need to be able to download their testing software and have access to Wi-Fi. Most tests take 10 to 20 minutes. Tests that record your screen and spoken thoughts pay about $10 while standard surveys pay $5. You’ll be paid via PayPal within 21 business days after your tests are approved.
Side Hustle from Home #12. JustPlay – is a gaming rewards app that lets you cash out the same day with PayPal money. You can cash out your coins every three hours during a payout window and there isn’t a minimum cashout requirement. They also pay via gift cards and charitable donations. If you play a lot of games, you could probably earn $1 to $4 per hour.
Side Hustle from Home #13. Lionbridge - is a competitor of Appen and offers the same sort of micro task marketplace for people to make extra money. If you want to try search engine evaluation, website testing, quality rating, or translation/transcription and have had difficulty getting into Appen, Lionbridge is a solid alternative. FYI… it is technically against TOS to work for Appen and Lionbridge simultaneously. Pay rates range from $8-$14 per hour depending on the job you’re working on.
Depending on the projects you worked on, Lionbridge pays through Direct Bank Transfer and PayPal. The minimum payout threshold is $20. Payable sums that fall below the minimum payout threshold are carried over to the following month. The payment cycle is NET-45 means January earnings are deposited into your bank account around the 15th of March. It takes them around 15 days to create invoices and another 30 days to process payments.
Side Hustle from Home #14. Microworkers - is a micro task website that currently has more than 1.4 million workers who have completed more than 42 million tasks. Popular jobs on Microworkers include categorization, completing surveys, data mining/entry, and ads monitoring on social media platforms like Facebook. As with Clickworkers, you will be assigned a star rating as you complete tasks, and higher ratings will allow you to access a wider array of jobs. Microworker pays out through Dwolla, PayPal, and Transpay, but you must earn at least $9 before cashing out. Payments are sent twice a week.
Side Hustle from Home #15. Mistplay – is a leading Android app that pay you to play games on your phone! They will give you free gift cards when you play games. It is basically a loyalty program for mobile gaming fans. Mistplay lets you redeem points for a variety of free gift cards, and redemptions actually start at $0.50 for Amazon gift cards. The app is available in U.S., Canada, Denmark, Australia, and several other countries.
Side Hustle from Home #16. MTurk – is a platform by Amazon and perhaps the original microtask website. Jobs on MTurk are similar to Clickworker. The MTurk marketplace is full of tasks including identifying objects in videos, data deduplication, transcription work, and search engine evaluation. MTurk jobs are known as ‘hits,’ which stands for ‘Human Intelligence Tasks,’ and the premise behind Amazon MTurk is to have workers help solve problems that AI isn’t capable of figuring out. U.S. citizens can earn cash or Amazon gift cards for their work on MTurk, while non U.S. citizens can only earn gift cards.
Side Hustle from Home #17. Money Well - lets you play Android games for gift cards and PayPal money. Money Well is completely free to download and is available in the United States, Canada, Australia, the UK, and many European countries. Money Well lets you redeem your tickets for PayPal money and a range of gift cards. However, the minimum redemption amount depends on the reward you select and where you live.
Side Hustle from Home #18. OneSpace - is a short task platform where you’re paid for various freelance tasks, such as taking surveys, copywriting, quality assurance, transcription, and lots more. To be eligible for more complex and higher-paying tasks, you must pass a qualification test. Once you pass the qualification test, you unlock higher-paying gigs. Payments are made via PalPal. You can get paid quickly and daily for your approved work.
Side Hustle from Home #19. PlaytestCloud – allows you to earn approximately $9 per 15 minute app test you complete. You will be test apps and games that are in development. Specifically, PlaytestCloud lets app developers test their apps during various stages: Prototyping, Development, Soft launch, Post-release. Requirements are speak English, live in Canada, the UK, or the United States; be comfortable talking out loud while testing games. Have an Android phone that’s 5 (Lollipo) or newer.
Alternatively, have an iOS device running iOS 12 or 13 – this is basically an iPhone 5 or higher or iPod Tough 6G. Once you’re approved to test games, PlaytestCloud will periodically email you testing opportunities. Playtest Cloud pays out through PayPal, and this is the only option. Payment processes within a few days after a verified testing session and you don’t need a minimum payment amount.
Side Hustle from Home #20. Premise Data – uses crowdsourced data to help its clients get the data it needs to make informed decisions. Tasks include answering paid surveys, sharing your opinion, taking phots of things in you city, completing short tasks. You can get paid with PayPal cash, Payoneer, or even with Bitcoin, so it’s also a versatile micro task app. The payment options you have access to will vary based on your location. Minimum payouts will vary by location as well, but in the US, they start at $10.
Side Hustle from Home #21. Qmee – pays members to answer paid surveys, shop online, search the web, answer daily polls, referring friends. You can redeem points for PayPal cash, gift cards, or charitable donations and do not have a minimum payout requirement. They are available in U.S., Canada, Australia, and the UK.
Side Hustle from Home #22. RapidWorkers – is a site for marketing-focused micro tasks. You might be asked to do things like social media actions, following or liking or tweeting, and you can get paid out immediately to PayPal as soon as you make $4.
Side Hustle from Home #23. Remotasks - is a newer entrant to the work of crowdsourced micro jobs, and they also pay less on average than companies like Appen or Lionbridge. However, if you can’t make it into other platforms but want to make some extra money, Remotasks might help hold you over until you can find better work. Popular jobs on Remotasks include image annotation, data collection, identifying spam, moderating content, and transcription. Payments are made via PayPal, but you will probably earn under $10/hour on this platform so keep that in mind.
Side Hustle from Home #24. Rev - This leading transcription website pays you to transcribe audio files. They claim you can make around $250 per month working for them, and it’s completely free to sign up. You must meet their requirements to join the platform. Requirements are: being at least 18 years old, having a PayPal account, being proficient in English, passing a grammar test and submitting a transcription sample for review. Rev transcriptionist jobs pay $0.30 to $1.10 per minute of audio, or video you transcribe. So, an hour-long transcription job might pay $18 to $66.
However, it can take a proficient transcriptionist about 2 to 3 hours to transcribe one hour of audio. So, your speed and accuracy really influence how much money you make per hour. Rev pays transcriptionists with PayPal money every week. There isn’t a minimum cash out amount either, making Rev a reliable online job that pays weekly.
Side Hustle from Home #25. Rewarded Play - is a free Android app that lets you earn free gift cards for playing mobile games. All you have to do is download new games and play them to earn points, which are redeemable for dozens of different gift cards. Rewarded Play has a 45,000 point minimum redemption requirement, which equals a $5 gift card. Gift cards you can redeem with Rewarded Play: Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Ebay, Nordstrom, Walmart, Gap, Adidas, Chilis, Sephora and Macy’s.
You can choose to receive your gift card digitally or delivered straight to your door. If you go the digital route, you’ll receive it in your email. Rewarded Play claims that you can easily receive your first gift card within 48 hours. Note that you also have a cap of 5,000 points per day
Side Hustle from Home #26. Spare 5 - has both a website and mobile app (so you can hustle while on the go). Most Spare 5 tasks focus on “deriving the meaning of, or providing human insight into, audio, video, or image files.” Expect to annotate images, provide keywords/categories, and proofread/complete linguistic tasks. Spare 5 gigs generally pay a few cents to under a dollar, and payments are made on Friday via PayPal. The minimum payout threshold is $1.
Side Hustle from Home #27. StartUpLift – works specifically with startups to provide feedback on their websites based around required completion of certain tasks. You’re paid $5 for every feedback accepted, and they pay via PayPal each Monday.
Side Hustle from Home #28. TELUS International - which acquired Lionbridge, hires independent contractors to work on microtasks like translation, transcription, rating ads, annotation, search engine evaluation, and testing. You must first prove your proficiency by taking and passing relevant evaluation tests (which I’ve heard are pretty challenging). Once they have your evaluation scores, you’ll receive invites to work on available projects. Payment schedule is longer than desired. Work in January is calculated at the end of January, invoice is released in February and payment will be in March. Rate vary by country.
Side Hustle from Home #29. Testing Time – Testing Time provides tester feedback on digital products (websites and apps), and you must use Skype to test with them. They pay currently around $59. They match you to tests using your profile and you’ll get an invitation via email when they match you. You must be fluent in English to work for TestingTime, and you will need Skype and a working microphone. You set up an appointment with their client to do a guided usability test. Payments are made every 5-10 days via PayPal following a test.
Side Hustle from Home #30. TryMyUI - connects quality assurance testers with businesses looking to perfect their website or app. Testers are paid $10 per accepted test, and sessions generally take 20 minutes. They also have you do a written wrap-up survey. TryMyUI is currently hiring global testers, but you must be fluent in English and have a microphone/screen recording software. They pay through PayPal every Friday.
Side Hustle from Home #31. UsabilityHub – offers very short tests that you’re paid about $0.10 for. They call your earnings “credits,” where 1 credit equals $0.10. Once you accrue 100 credits, you can cash out your $10. They pay via PayPal. They do not have as many tests as they purport.
Side Hustle from Home #32. UserCrowd – Pays you around $0.20 per credit earned, for completing very brief testing gigs. Most tests pay 1-2 credits per response, and some may pay more. Payouts with PayPal. You can request a payout when your balance reaches $10. You will need a PayPal account that is eligible to receive payments.
Side Hustle from Home #33. UserFeel – is another usability company that will record your screen and your spoken thoughts. You can use a smartphone or a computer running Windows 7 or better. Macs work too. They pay $10 per test with tests taking around 10 to 20 minutes. Payment is by PayPal or Payoneer, and they pay out around 1 week after your test is accepted.
Side Hustle from Home #34. Userinput.io – sources testers through Mturk. It is another one that pays to test web pages. You need a computer to perform the tests and as in many platforms of this type, your screen and voice will be recorded while you perform the requested tasks. The tests last between 5 and 15 minutes but can be extended depending on the needs and of course if you think you have the ability to express your thoughts in detail.
The payment ranges from $5 to $15 per test, depending on its complexity and duration. In some cases, you will have the opportunity to access additional bonuses. You are paid through mTurk (mTurk pays you with Amazon gift cards or Amazon Payments that can be transferred to your bank account. If you don’t have a bank account, you can transfer from Amazon Payments to a prepaid debit card.)
Side Hustle from Home #35. Userlytics – is a digital usability testing platform that provides companies with critical customer insights and feedback. Companies sign up for Userlytics to hire people like you to browse through and provide feedback on websites, mobile apps, prototypes, videos, and advertisements. To test with Userlytics, you must have a computer with a microphone, running Windows 7 (or better) or MacOS 10.7.3 (or newer). You’ll also need a webcam.
As a usability tester, you’ll be paid a certain amount for every test you complete. Most tests will take about 20 to 40 minutes to complete. Usability tests are sent out randomly to testers.
In some instances you’ll be conducting a test for a large corporation, and in other cases it may be for a smaller start-up company. While you can take as many tests as you want, you’ll need to wait until Userlytics sends you one.
You’ll have a better chance of receiving tests if you provide more of your personal information and fill out a complete profile. There aren’t any qualifications for taking tests. In fact, clients prefer that you don’t know anything beforehand. Those with less experience often provide some of the most valuable feedback to clients.
Your pay rate will depend on each individual test you take. Many tests will pay between $5 and $20. Other tests can pay as much as $90, however, these are quite rare. You’ll be paid more money for tests that are more intensive and take a longer time. Before you take a test, you’ll be shown how much you’ll be paid and approximately how long it will take. Remember: Clients need to approve your test before you can get paid. Once you’re approved, you’ll be paid once every 15 days through PayPal.
Side Hustle from Home #36. UserTesting - pays $10 per desktop test and $15 per mobile test, and the tests only take about 20 minutes each to complete. Testers are required to record their thoughts/screen as they navigate a testing environment, but most sessions take 10-20 minutes. Rarely, testers may qualify for a live test session with a client, which pay up to $60. UserTesting is fairly global, and payments are made 7 days after a testing session via PayPal.
Side Hustle from Home #37. UserZoom – is very straightforward and like most usability testing sites – sign up, fill out a profile, be matched with tests and get emailed when tests are available. UserZoom has become more focused on the digital experience rather than shopping and buying experiences. Studies that record your video and audio pay $10 on average. When it comes to standards surveys, though, the average is $5. Each study takes approximately 10-20 minutes.
Depending on your demographics and your quality rating, you expect to be invited for 2 or 4 tests per month. After you submit your test, you will have to wait for approval, which takes approximately 3 – 5 days. Once approved, they will send out your PayPal payment within 21 business days. Just like other platforms, there is no minimum payout requirement.
Side Hustle from Home #38. WhatUsersDo – has testers review new websites (some by household names), and are paid $5 per test. They send you test invitations via email, and you can only take 3 to 5 tests per month. They also pay via PayPal, but only on the 25th of each month. Requires download of a screen recorder.
Side Hustle from Home #39. ySense - is a weird mixture between a survey site and a micro job platform, and there’s truly a little bit of something for everyone on this site. On ySense, users can make money through surveys, download offers, watching videos, or by completing jobs like the ones posted on Figure Eight.
ySense was formerly known as Clixsense, another popular GPT website, and the platform is under the parent company Prodege, who operate some of the most reputable reward sites in the industry. Users can cash out with dozens of gift card options or through PayPal, and the lowest rewards are $3. ySense is also available in dozens of countries.
Side Hustle from Home #40. Zeerk - brands themselves as a micro job and freelance portal where you can offer or browse gigs ranging from $3 to $200. In other words, Zeerk is an alternative to Fiverr that focuses on micro tasks. This is the platform where people buy likes, followers, upvotes, social media accounts, and other semi-questionable online transactions. If you’ve ever tried to make money on Fiverr with these sorts of offerings but find the marketplace is saturated, Zeerk might be less competitive.
Side Hustle from Home #41. Reddit Side Hustle – shameless plug here. If you want to make much more than these microtask sites offer and not be at the mercy of available gigs, check out my Reddit Traffic 101 guide. It has a simple side hustle from home formula to start making money online using Reddit.

2023.06.02 02:49 IsTotallyNotForPorn Pride Month and corporate Bandwagoning

I see a lot of criticism of corporations and companies for jumping on various bandwagons, be it Pride, BLM and others, and I’m sure a lot of it is justified and just a money grab but not all, this is from yesterday, first day of pride here in Aus
I picked up my daughter from work, they are pan and intersex and they work at Maccas (McDonalds of course) and it is their first real job since covid, been there a few months now
Maccas are running a large Pride Month promotion and when they got in the car they excitedly told me all the things they were doing for Pride and showed me the pin they had received from their supervisor
They were happy and proud and they said they felt supported and appreciated inside the company, so corporate might be thinking of the $$$ but at a store level they are taking it to heart and showing genuine support for pride and everyone on the rainbow
So despite the negativity of Banwagoning (it’s a word OK) there are some real and positive aspects to it, diversity and inclusion has to start somewhere
Some FYI notes for clarity
All pronouns etc are as they identify
This is regional Australia, not traditionally the most welcoming to “others” but is/has gotten a LOT better in recent years
Still not a big fan of Maccas food LOL

2023.06.02 00:18 FalconPrestigious342 Was this medical malpractice AND what can I do?

I was dealing with lumbar and thoracic issues with my back and went to a pain management doctor to get trigger point injections. The doctor administered these while I was standing up. I was positioned standing with my 2 hands leaning on the exam table. During the injections, I had a vasso vagal response and fainted, falling forward and then backwards, hitting my head on the door knob as I fell. I went home even though they told me to go to the ER to get my head checked out. I was feeling awful and just wanted to get home. I think I was a little concussed as I had a horrible headache for the next 24 hours.
This happened in January (now June). I started developing a lot of neck pain and stiffness. a LOT - it would radiate down to my shoulder. My trapezius become unbearable with pain at times. I was able to get a cervical MRI done and it actually came back clean - all discs were in tact. Nevertheless, I could barely move my neck at all.

The neck is slowly recovering with physical therapy and I also received a facet block injection at a couple of levels and am hoping that works. Now, here is the thing - my insurance will only cover 8 more physical therapy appointments, at which point I will have to pay out of pocket. Remember, I was already going to PT for the lumbar and thoracic issues. Is there ANY way to approach this pain management company and ask them to cover my PT visits for the neck since I do believe they are the ones who caused the issue. I think I should have been sitting during these injections. In the doctor's report, they put I was in a 'sitting position' during the trigger point injections which upset me a bit - not sure why they would lie about this and I find it suspicious. I thought about calling the office manager but I am not even sure if they are the person to ask and I am also not sure if they would respect any request of mine without legal representation.
I still see this doctor so I do not know if that is an issue and I have wanted to bring it up but did not want to open a whole can of worms. All I really want is to get better and not to get stuck paying $160 twice a week for PT visits. I feel as if that is reasonable. I feel as if the doctor is good at their job but still made a mistake when giving those injections and having me stand. I have already lost time and a lot of quality of life. I missed out on family gatherings, etc. I have lost sick and vacation days at work as well. I don't think I can get that stuff back, but it is just FYI.

Any and all help or advice is appreciated!!! Have a great day everyone.

2023.06.01 20:50 DFKujo Kujo's Quick & Dirty AMA Write-Up – 06/01/23

Kujo's Quick and Dirty u/DeFiKingdoms AMA Write-Up – 06/01/23
Magnus
- Gas optimization for Quest v3. Top of our minds.
- Plan is to give periodic updates on gas optimization, instead of waiting for one big release
- Been addressing low hanging fruit as well as refactoring big issues
- Next week expect the first of those updates, if not earlier.
- It is a high priority.
Question 1
What are your thoughts on single sided Dark Summoning / Hero Sacrifice. If I Sacrifice a Hero, it impacts summoning remaining, class, etc.
Hubert
- We’ve been discussing this. Extra Hero burning features. This one is an idea with merit, but we need time to focus on it. Depends on priorities, but we’re not focused on adding new burn mechanics just yet.
Question 2
On prioritizing burn mechanics – what are your thoughts on where that priority is?
Hubert
- Understands the concerns. Focused on the Combat System (which leads to future gameplay features). This is a higher priority, to get out more engaging gameplay.
- We want to attract new users.
- Burning is important, but limited ‘bandwidth’ on what we can focus on at any given time.
- Solutions sound simple, but they’re not that easily implemented.
Question 3
Any update on Level 10 Mining and Yellow Eggs?
Hubert
- It’s in the pipeline. Waiting on pet art (it’s time intensive).
- Focused on taking care of Combat system, which is drawing labor from that.
- There are a couple of other things first that are coming out. Can’t say what they are yet.
Question 4
Can we get a more defined definition of a “tick” in the speed formula?
Hubert
- A “tick” itself is a generic time unit. It doesn’t mean anything but where you put the lines on your ruler.
- A Hero’s turn doesn’t have to occur exactly on its tick. It could land on 2.76. It’s not discrete.
- Think of it like a generic time that is continuous. The next Hero’s turn might 2.56 or 5.70. Those numbers won’t be displayed as numbers.
- Turn order will be intuitive and displayed.
Question 5
When can we expect hero sorting?
Beetle
- I do have an idea and I mentioned it before.
- Sorry I didn’t do it earlier. Expect it in the next few minutes.
Question 6
Will Skill 10, is there a reason behind not increasing the requirement to enter them?
Hubert
- We would have been going back on what we planned them for.
- It took longer, but that doesn’t impact the original plan.
- Travel will make better quests more complicated to access.
Question 7
Will the next higher quest have the same?
Bolon
- No. Check previous answer.
Question 8
Thoughts on having the Tavern in Jewel or Klay, instead of Jade or Crystal?
Hubert
- Possible. Jewel could use more utility.
- However, taking away utility from Jade and Crystal would be a mistake.
- We’ve been thinking of having Jewel utilized in more ways (as well as Jade and Crystal).
Frisky
- The ecosystem and economics are tied around the current structure.
- Unforeseen ramifications from messing with this.
- The Bazaar will use various types of tokens on different chains.
Question 9
Hubert, you mentioned not wanting to mess with genes. Any thoughts on having a cosmetic shell where the innate genetics don’t change, but players can acquire “skins”?
Hubert
- Our plan is for equipment to be visible on Heroes.
- Once Weapons and Armor and Accessories are available, they will change Hero appearance.
- Have discussed a “skin” system.
- Haven’t thought about changing hair styles, or other cosmetic traits.
- Attached to Equipment. So will approach this in the future when that releases.
Question 10
Any chance we can get the chart for Jewel fixed on CoinGecko (and others)?
Bolon
- We’ve been in contact with all of them.
- Lots of back and forth. Takes forever.
- CoinMarketCap is correct.
- DrZipper is working on an API endpoint for them.
- We are not happy about it either.
Question 11
What is the next anticipated update?
Frisky
- The Bazaar. Front End is being worked on.
- Audit done, adjusting some things based on it.
- Theoretically considering buying NFTs across chain with native tokens. Working it out (not related to next release in the immediate)
Question 12
Any thoughts on having a Dark Summoning concept for pets?
Hubert
- We do. Trade 2 pets in for a new Egg.
- Mimicking the current Dark Summon is not a priority for pets, may never be.
Question 13
Thoughts on a bridge toll? Between CV and SD, or a CD between the ability to bridge.
Hubert
- Not sure if this will solve anything. Would be counter productive.
- It’s possible, but we have plans for there to incentivize bridging.
Frisky
- We’ve thrown around ideas about this. But nothing seems to really jive with what we have planned.
Question 14
What about gas fees on CV? And Klaytn gas rebate?
Magnus
- Quest Core v3 is the most heavily used.
- No free lunch when adding computation. More logic means more gas.
- Have been doing analysis to find potential optimization areas. Working through the easier of the possibilities.
- Has already lead to some gas reduction.
- Overhauled calculations on storing on chain. Refactoring constantly.
Bolon
- Klaytn gas rebate is on pause due to some organizational changes on Klaytn.
Frisky
- There’s been a lot of flux with their internals, but we’ll follow up.
Question 15
Thoughts on a Hero Quest History log?
Frisky
- I would love there to be somewhere in game to see the transactions of a Hero.
- Hard to find History of a Hero. We do track them and store that data.
- API doesn’t currently expose those. Analytics system does.
- Wants to bring that to the Front End display for users.
- Local storage would be nice, but there are local device issues as you switch from one to another.
- New Feature mentioned (undisclosed name) that would benefit from this integration.
Question 16
Thoughts on Skill 10 Profession Quests and Moksha runes?
Hubert
- The chance did not change to retrieve these between Skill 0 and 10.
- Discussion has involved retrieving these more likely from Combat.
- Potentially trade in other resources for one (floated idea).
- Does not think the drop rate will change.
Bolon
- Runic Discovery pet bonus applies to both Shvas and Moksha, FYI.

2023.06.01 17:33 Commercial-Routine49 Charged with careless driving in Ontario

Hi folks,
I would like to hear your opinion on a matter that has been happening for a few years.
Back in 2021, my friends and I (23M) went from Toronto to Saugeen Shores in Ontario for a summer day trip during Canada Day. We arrived at our cottage, dropped off our food and stuff, and made our way to Tobermory, as this was our final destination for the day.
We rented a huge fancy red Jeep, and it was my turn to drive as they had switched back and forth from Toronto. Midway to Saugeen Shores, we stopped at a gas station and removed the roof to be totally ventilated. I started driving, and just a couple of blocks away from our cottage, I heard some laughing, and I decided to quickly move my head to the side to see what was going on.
To my surprise, one of my friends (50 M) seemed to be standing in the back seat (he's only 5' 2" ish), apparently trying to record. I tried to slap him and told him to quickly sit down as he was not allowed to do so. As this was happening, I saw a cop in front of me, and I couldn't think of anything wrong happening as I was abiding by the rules.
As I approach him, he instantly stands in the middle of the road, yelling and waving at me. I came to a complete stop, and his yelling demeanour made me so nervous (as this was the very first time I had been pulled over). He kept yelling PULLED OVER! Bear in mind English is my second language, and I completely panicked. My whole English disappeared, and I honestly didn't know what was happening. My co-pilot quickly told me that pulling over meant going to the side of the road and waiting there for him to do whatever he was supposed to do.
When he stopped us, he asked for the usual licence and registration (I had a valid G2 back then). He went away for about 30 minutes; during that time, we could only speculate what would happen. I told the friend who stood up that he would probably get some fine or penalty, but never did it cross my mind that I would be liable for his behaviour.
Anyway, after he returned, he handed my friend a ticket for $100, citing that he was not wearing a seat belt, and then proceeded to me and handled me over a $5,000 fine and a careless driving charge. I quickly explained that my friend was old enough to understand this was not allowed and that I tried, to the best of my abilities, to stop him from doing so.
He then proceeded to say I could refuse it, and he would take me directly to jail, where everything would be sorted out. Of course, I did not want that option and decided to take the fine and deal with that later. -Just FYI, yeah, our trip was ruined after that.
Fast forward I had my first hearing appearance in 2022. The prosecutor portrayed me as a careless young adult who "permitted" someone to stand and take videos. As much as my lawyer tried to defend me and pull some laws and regulations, the judge and the prosecutor seemed firm on their decision. Therefore, the case was lost, and I was liable to pay legal fees, the fine, get seven demerit points and lose my licence for 30 days.
I still think it is utterly unfair that such high fines and penalties apply to me since my friend is way over the legal age and is a person that acts on their own. I have never had a ticket of any sort, and it is pretty frustrating to see how the system seems not to work for everyone, mainly (I'm sorry for this; it has to be said) for young immigrants that do not match their demographics.
With that in mind, I appealed to their decision as I truly and honestly feel I did nothing wrong but to have agreed to drive that day. At this point, it is more about the fact that I want my name to come up clean. During the appeal process, the judge agreed that there was no imminent risk for a "careless driving charge" but still accepted the original charge anyway.
I could potentially apply to the Ontario Court of Justice and see what happens. Still, not only is it more expensive (I don't really have the resources right now), but my lawyer then said to move on and tried to find a broker for my upcoming insurance renewal.
My questions would be, what do you folks think about this? Would it be possible/doable to fight it at the OCJ level? Would there be a kind of pro-bono lawyer that any of you know? And, of course, since this is Reddit, give me your honest opinion of the case. Would you consider I was wrong in the eye of the law?
Thanks, I'll be eager to read y'all.
Have a nice rest of the week, and stay protected during this heat warning.

2023.06.01 09:34 BigglesFlysUndone Landscape iPad games to play with one hand to pass the time while on the dialysis chair...List your favorites!

I won't list card games, because I have done more ad-supported Microsoft Solitaire than a thousand bored office workers...I absolutely hate the incessant ads for "Royal Match" where the king bellows "Help Me!" over and over again. Die, King...Die.
Looty Dungeon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZQfW5tOhzw
Nice and brainless timed puzzle game. Best done with dominant hand. One of the monsters does the "Wilhelm Scream," which always makes me smile. I have maxed this game out and I still go back to play. Apple App Store/Free/Ad supported.
The Last Campfire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBY6XUf3rxs
Very pretty 3D puzzle adventure...Super pretty, sweet and gentle. Finished in a couple weeks. Apple Arcade.
Lego Builder's Journey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UduIBK20TjQ
Another very pretty, sweet and gentle puzzle game that has stumped me mid-game. I'm workin' on it! Apple Arcade.
All of You: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F8zlgkmPvo
Get the Momma chicken to her lost chick! Deceptively simple and maddening puzzle mechanics that has also stumped me mid-game. The reward for every level? Music swells and Momma hugs her chick! Aww! Apple Arcade.
Stranger Things 1984: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwpUh2V-Wec
Stranger Things 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knteU9n0_lY
Get this...Get that...Go here...Go there. I only saw a few episodes of the show, but I grok it and these are entertaining and time consuming. Stumped at one of the last levels of Stranger Things 3...I need more dexterity. Netflix Games.
Addendum:
FYI: I purchased a base model iPad 9th Gen this year ($270 at some retailers, don't buy from the Apple Store. it's more expensive!)
My iPad has a case that props it up in landscape orientation. I like this one by habit...I used two over time with my older 6th Gen iPad, but you might find something better if you browse around:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X9LCCRG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have also seen others with foam tablet stands like these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089ZZC4Z1/?coliid=I1NOW8B2ADIDG6&colid=2FM9ON66ZXWUO
I actually want to try one of these foam stands...They are bulky, but I'm dragging frikin' luggage into my dialysis clinic anyways!
EDIT: Screw it. I bought that foam stand with my accumulated credit card rewards points + $10. It's late and I'm OK with a little indulgence! Weee!

2023.06.01 08:50 FaithlessnessOne7177 What can I do with a JL RD400/4?

Got this as a gift and wasnt sure if its worth keeping. I actually don’t have any special sound system in my truck right now and was not planning on spending a whole lot.
Was planning to run front speakers with audiofrog gs690 which is 100 RMS at 4 ohms. Would i use two channels at 100 RMS at 2 ohms or 75 RMS at 4?
Could I bridge the last two channels at 200W @ 4 ohms and run a subwoofer? (i dont care about the rear speakers). I think amp has a crossover for this option? any recommendation for a sub? would a 8W3v3-4 sound good? (8-inch (200 mm) Subwoofer Driver, 4 Ω)
FYI i dont know crap about sound systems just researched all this in an hr and am really not sure how any of this stuff works..
amp: 100 W x 4 @ 2 Ω / 75 W x 4 @ 4 Ω - 14.4V
features include high or low-pass 12 dB / octave filters (defeatable) for each channel pair, with continuously variable frequency selection from 50-500 Hz, and dual-range, differential-balanced inputs capable of accepting most input voltage levels.

2023.06.01 05:31 Throwaway4Dollars How to Request Salary Increase with Two Potential Offers?

Hello, Redditors! I am in a bit of a predicament and would like some advice on how to navigate this situation.

I have been a senior software engineer with Company A for nearly five years. During my time with Company A, I've been able to lead some really cool projects (including developing a platform that has been rolled out and universally adopted throughout the company) and have received very positive feedback on my performance. I have great relationships within the organization (ranging from fellow engineers to non-technical peers to executive leadership), and I really enjoy being a part of the company.

The only negative aspect of my employment at Company A is my compensation. My scope of work has consistently grown over the past five years with particularly explosive growth over the past year and a half - and my salary increases have not kept pace with the amount of work that I'm managing. I did a job analysis of my position, conducted some research on fair market rates, and tapped into a few recruiting colleagues for their opinion on my request. After all of that, I set a meeting with my director, shared my expectations around a compensation adjustment for the upcoming budget cycle, and didn't receive any pushback. My director agreed that the scope of my role has grown at a greater rate than my salary increases and assured me it would get addressed in the upcoming budget discussions.

We are coming up on the new budget cycle, and while nothing has been officially shared with employees yet, I have heard from a reputable source that my adjustment is going to be lower than what I requested from my director. I'm extremely disappointed as I've poured a massive amount of work into Company A and provided immense value (based on feedback from my director and executive leadership) over the past five years. Part of me is concerned that they are lowballing me on the adjustment since they know that I have a significant investment in the software that I have developed and am continuing to develop at Company A.

This is where we come to my predicament:

Before joining Company A, I was a consultant at Company pre-A and worked with a number of clients. There are two former clients (Company B & Company C) that have both been courting me over the past few months.

Company B is a company that I was 'embedded' at, so I know exactly what I would be getting into if I joined the company. It's a very good company (great leadership, good company culture, etc.) and if I were looking to leave my current situation, it would be a place that I'd seriously consider; however, I won't have as much creative freedom as I have in my current role. The compensation that they've discussed with me is MUCH higher than what I requested from Company A - in fact, it has me a little concerned about getting into a golden handcuffs situation. Company B has made it clear to me that all I have to do is say the word and an offer is on the table.

Company C is a company that I worked closely with on several large projects but wasn't truly embedded in the day-to-day the way that I was with Company B. It is another great company and one that I'd be interested in considering. This role would have a similar level of creative freedom as my current role, and the compensation is on par with what I requested from Company A in my adjustment. While Company C has told me they're highly interested in bringing me on board, they would want to bring me in for an interview, and the job isn't a sure thing yet.

Is there a way that I can leverage these two potential offers into getting my adjustment increased to the level that I originally requested? In a perfect world, I would stay at Company A with the requested adjustment. I am fairly certain that if Company A thought that I would truly walk away for another offer, they would make the money happen - there is no one else in the company that has a deep enough knowledge of the platform I developed (there's one junior-level developer that is starting to learn, but he's still at a very shallow level), I have strong relationships within the organization, and I'm widely recognized as a very high performer. However, I want to make sure I navigate the conversation appropriately to ensure I don't come off as abrasive, greedy, or disloyal.

As an FYI - I am not planning to discuss anything until my director brings up the adjustment conversation with me. However, I want to make sure I'm prepared with how to respond when that conversation does take place.

Any help is welcome. Thanks in advance!
