2022.06.25 22:06 YourEvilHero How do I get lower ping? Is my ping high because of where I live or because of my internet?
I use to live out in the middle of the woods. I had charter internet, spectrum I believe it is known as now. When I started playing fortnite on pc I had 0-6 ping in creative and under 20 ping in game on wifi. Download speeds were horrible I was gettting a max of 10 mbps when downloading things.
Last summer I moved to my dads in the city. The ping was ok, 25 average in game and creative on wifi. I plugged it in and got the same. His girlfriend has some type of cheap internet of a max of 50 mps. But over the past couple weeks my ping has been horrible. I’ve been getting 40-60 minimum in game and creative. I just did a test and it’s 57 download and 11 upload. Earlier this week I signed up for T-Mobile for cell service let them talk me into using their 5g internet free trial for 14 days.
Plugged it in and it’s 142 mps download and 3.59 upload. But my ping is around the same in game. Needless to say t mobile is pretty shitty with coverage so I’ll be switching next month. I just don’t get out I had better ping when I lived in the woods compared to the city. Clix lives in the town down the road from me and gets like 3 ping in game. Though as I watch his stream rn he pretty much lagged out.
What type of internet should I be looking for?

2021.04.15 13:03 Alexis_0hanian What's the best side hustle you've seen from a soldier?
In relation to this thread from
AirForce->
https://www.reddit.com/AirForce/comments/mquacz/whats_the_craziest_side_hustle_youve_heard_from/?sort=new
In the 2000s I was a DCSENG contractor for the USAR (IX Corps) at Fort Shafter, HI. I worked with the AGR staff and we had one E-7 who was constantly down on his luck (mostly self inflicted). Three wives, four kids, in and out of active and reserve duty. He finally got an AGR slot and stayed there until he could retire. He had brought over another girl from the mainland to live/watch his kids, and eventually got married to her after this incident.
The HQ IX building was located on Fort Shafter flats near the NAF warehouse. Once or twice a year NAF would have their warehouse sale. A lot of our staff would get there just as they opened so we could get any good stuff that was for sale.
The one sale that I did not go he made out like a bandit. The NAF sale included cases for a game similar to this (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HeroClix, can't remember the exact name but the manufacturer was the same) but in an RPG world. At the time the figures sold for $8-10/box, and there were three figures in each box. The NAF warehouse sale had these for $2/case, and each CASE contained 8 BOXES. So basically it was $2 for a case that had a retail value of $64+, and the NAF had over 1000 cases for sale (to this day I have no idea why or how they were routed to this particular NAF). This E-7 being the RPG geek that he was knew that it was too good to be true.
So he rushes home and convinces his girlfriend/nanny to give him her entire tax rebate check so that he can buy up a bunch of the stock. He ends up buying near 1000 boxes that fills nearly the entirety of his military home. Over the next year, he and his eventual wife sell them via an EBay store. I think he started at $50/case buyer pays shipping, and then lowered the price over the year as demand eventually dropped. He ended up making over $40K from the sales and then PCS'ed soon after.
EDIT:
The game was Mage Knight submitted by

2021.02.01 03:50 Casual___Geek Just got into Heroclix.
Recently for the past couple of months I got into HeroClix. I used to collect the mini figures as a child but never understood how to play the actual game. Fast forward several years later and I noticed they were making a set for House of X(I currently read all the X titles) so I decided that would be a cool jumping on point to try and actually learn the game. I’ve come along understanding the rules and gameplay by playing games with my girlfriend but mostly by myself. I’m now at the point to wear I would like to expand but upon calling over 6 different somewhat local game stores none of them sell HeroClix. I assume since they don’t sell them they wouldn’t hold events, also because of COVID I understand there wouldn’t be any events anyways. I live in Southern California and would like to know if there are any shops out there selling HeroClix? Also what community’s are out there ? I’ve seen some people talk about the fade in interest in the game did I jump in as it’s dying out ? I would be so bummed if It dies right as I get into it.

2019.03.16 10:36 OkamiNoKao Need Perfume Advice. Both Male and Female users' opinions appreciated
Tl Dr:
28 y.o. 90's guy who only used Drakkar Noir (Guy Laroche), Axe (Blue ones like Phoenix and Clix) and Adidas (Victory League) perfumes/deodorants all his life, needs advice on stepping up the game and wants to have that perfume lingered on him for 6-10 hours in the day. Trying to find suitable perfume to go along with his dark colors based fashion Hey everyone! I'm 28 years old male living in Turkey. I'm a man with receeding long hair, very long beard and short body (1,69).
I'm usually wearing Black, Gray, Red, Khaki, Dark Olive and Navy Blue colored clothing. Buttoned shirts, long and short arms both. I just have one dark colored jeans and one Black cargo pants for Winter and multiple shorts in Summer. That's about it about my gardrobe...
Back in the day (I don't know, pre-teens mostly) I used my father's
Drakkar Noir by
Guy Laroche for a long time. For me, it was the best perfume for a man. Really made me felt like a Vampire or "Dark enough" or something, I don't know. Still love the thing though.
In my teenager years, I mostly used
Axe deodorants (We don't have Lynx brand in TR). I'm not really knowledgable about the situation but I strongly guess that Axe got "Color coding" in their products. Most I can remember were
Phoenix, Apollo and Clix/Click... "That Blue Axe" was my choice for a long time.
For a time I stopped using deodorants in daily life so, didn't really needed them. Oh btw, I'm not just filthy person or anything. I just don't stink and bathe regularly. Oh, also I'm kind of a loner and didn't really had too many girlfriends to smell special when I'm with... After a while daily life had me needed to use deodorants and colognes regularly.
So I chose
Victory League by
Adidas to go with. Pretty much liked it though and I'm kinda still using it (It has become hard to find cologne ones lately and deodorants just fade away in 1 hour or shorter for me)
I always have some type of absorbing perfume from other people. Don't really know if other people have this too, I never asked anyone about it but I guess my beard just easily picks up the molecules maybe? I don't know. Like one of my uncles always uses Boss by Hugo and whenever we hug, I smell Hugo Boss for the next 3 hours or so.
I've checked both; A Guide to Cologne
https://www.reddit.com/malefashionadvice/comments/iqljj/a_guide_to_cologne/ and
Basic Men's Fragrance Guide
https://www.reddit.com/malefashionadvice/comments/vq2f3/basic_mens_fragrance_guide/ posts but to be honest, never ever really had any ideas about notes and longevity part of the perfume using game.
I've also checked basenotes.net to find out what were the similar points in the perfumes/deodorants I've used and I can see some similarities happening. Like most of the times;
Top Notes of
Bergamot, Basil and Citrus Base Notes of
Musk, Cedarwood and Leather are recurring themes around, if I'm not mistaken.
So what would your suggestion or advice on brand or model for me to use? I want the smell of the perfume to linger all day long or as much as possible, for I somedays need to be in closed spaces with multiple people with thick clothing so it's important for me to smell good and not smell like salty sweat before even reach the midday.. or when and if I have a date, I want it the perfume be somewhat unique to be remembered. I also guess it needs to be sedate and dignified suitable along with the choice of my clothing colors and not a "Happily fresh" tones? Just a thought?
Also I guess I need to explain that in stores here, we don't really have people with knowledge about notes and other important details about perfumes. Just some bunch of teenagers in training with an untrained supervisor who doesn't really know anything other that how to use register machine... So it's kind of a one in a million chance to find a decent salesperson to help me out in this situation.

2018.12.10 21:54 SuperboyPrime01 A few questions please
So havent played in a long, long, long time and getting back into it with my girlfriend with all my old clix from the begining.
1, Powers like outwit and perplex, force blast, smoke cloud, do they count as actions or do they activate with an action.
2, if I'm ontop of a building and someone is on ground level, can the be attacked with my range? Or is halved?
3, moving ontop of buildings or anything that's elevated do you use full movement or half or you cant?
4, a lot of my old clix have the flying mechanic thing where you push up to fly and push down to be leveled. If I remember correctly I had to be flying to get over objects or buildings? And I noticed newer clix dont have this, superman for example i have the first KC superman and the worlds at war one, also the a bunch more unique ones and the new one I just got from WF has no flying thing. Does he still fly? Did they remove the mechanic?
Thanks for your time. I forgot how many rules there was to this. Seems like there's more now.

2018.06.26 20:45 KlownKefka How do you store your figs and Cards?
I've been cleaning up a lot lately, and was wondering, how do people store their figs and cards? The cards are the wrong dimensions from regular cards so you can't put them in a binder sleeves, and I haven't seen any good carrying cases/storage cases for Heroclix. I made some makeshift boxes just lining with foam, then putting foam on top of them to layer figures for my Skylander figurines, but I was wondering what others do.
I just got back into collecting as well, and my current figures are all before character cards were a thing (my newest Clix is a LE Gamma Hulk from Mutant Mayhem for anyone wanting to know how aged my currently meager collection is), and I want to make sure I store them properly. I'll probably mostly just be a collector, since i Have nobody to play with, although once I get some I'm planning on trying it out with my girlfriend to see if she likes it or not (probably won't, lol), so all the cards will get stored somewhere safe, just want maximum protection.
If you're one of those people that displays your figs, how do you clean them, and show pics! I love seeing other people's collections.

2016.09.08 05:45 Shibest /r/EarningOnline basics and how to make a stable living online
(Guide up to date as to October 2018!)
What is /EarningOnline? In the past I've been a major contributor (multiple top ranked posts, guides, etc) to other making money online subreddits. Not that any of these are bad - they all do what they set out to do. Earn some beermoney, find an online job, focus on one specific part of earning money online. But I felt something was missing, there wasn't really any subreddits devoted to making a
living online that weren't tired, drained, and devoid of any real methods/content.
That's why I created
/EarningOnline. This is a subreddit primarily focused on ways to earn a living online as opposed to pocket change or finding an online job. Beer money methods are welcome in moderation (as they can be a part of earning a living, albeit not as much of it). This is a bit more of a passion project for me, as I live on my own entirely subsisting on online income. So to kick off the subreddit I'll be posting a guide to earning a living online, and yes, I do nearly everything I say in it personally.
Instant sites Benefits:
- CONSISTENT, this is the best part about it
- Usually able to earn at least $6/hr
- Able to make money almost instantly, no marketing required
- Don't have to deal with clients
Drawbacks:
- Usually lower paying
- Learning curve (especially with survey-focused sites)
- Can sometimes take awhile to pay out (CW pays out like 3 weeks after you earn it)
- It's pretty hard to explain your money comes from a combination of crowdsourcing, taking surveys, and clicking ads.
Instant sites are just that, sites that you can go on and instantly start making some bucks. Even though I'd say my profession is a freelancer, most of my money probably come from these sites. It's a lot easier to just go on one of these, bang out $6+/hr, then go out and get coffee with my girlfriend than it is to market and deal with clients. I've already went in-depth with instant sites in my previous guide so I'll just list and say a little bit about my three favorite ones. And yes
all of them are available outside of the U.S. Clixsense Ref Non-Ref Clixsense is my personal favorite site and it's the one I'm missing most since I've been on vacation (can't use it since I'm outside of the U.S. currently). You can always, always earn at least $10 a day on this site if you live in the U.S. I've seen people earn that much even living in eastern European countries. There are a few steps to this, however.
First off, you're going to want to start off with the idea of completing the checklist bonus every day. This adds a 7-16% bonus to whatever you earned that day. If you earned $30 doing surveys that day and got a 16% bonus, congratulations you get an extra $5. Though, you'd have to be doing surveys for about 4-5 hours to get that much.
Lastly, look for the higher paying surveys. I never have a problem qualifying for them on ClixSense, but it may take up to 4-5 days of consistently doing surveys to qualify for them. The way CS and other survey sites work is the more surveys you do the easier it is to qualify for other ones. This also contributes to the 'learning curve' aspect I talked about. Starting off you may only earn like $3-4/hr, but once you've been doing it consistently for a few days that should shoot up to $6-7/hr or even more with the daily checklist bonus.
Ebates Ref Non-ref -
Highly recommended Not really a site for working, but if you're going to be shopping online it can offer 5-10% cash off on sites like Amazon and the like, very much worth giving a look to. This is probably the single best cashback site currently up and running. I highly, highly,
HIGHLY recommend checking this out before shopping online. I also heavily recommend using
Honey - Honey is a browser extension that automatically tries coupon codes for you in checkout for most online retailers.
ClickworkeUHRS Non-ref Registration is currently down for the U.S. (but might not be by the time you read this! Double check!).
There is a whole wealth of information on clickworkeuhrs. I was hesitant to add it to this guide because registration is down for the U.S. and there's just so much on it. But I felt it was necessary to add as it is a big source of work for me. Check the sidebar or
UHRSwork for more information, if registration becomes available in the future I'll edit my post with a more thorough guide. I know it's open elsewhere but I don't have much experience with their hitapps as I do with the U.S. version.
Cashcrate Ref Non-ref Cashcrate is definitely more of an offers site and it's one I check out daily. It's a bit less consistent than CS/Clickworker but its earning potentials are huge. What you'll want to do after signing up is immediately filling out your survey profile. This will match you up to some higher paying surveys in the future. I'd say hop on any survey over $1.25 or so as fast as you can as cashcrate surveys usually only take about 10 minutes, and are usually pretty easy to qualify for.
However, surveys are not the golden goose of cashcrate. Not by any means. What's really key here are the offers. You'll see offers like "try a free sample of this" for $1 or "buy this for $3 and get $5". Those are alright, but the best offers are the ones where you simply sign up for something or download an app.
Another nifty feature which I consider to be just cashback is the shopping page. They have some pretty big names on there last time I checked, namely Walmart, Newegg, Walgreens, Gamestop, Sears, etc. If you're buying a $300 console from Gamestop that 2-4% cash back is going to be pretty significant. This feature is only really useful if you shop online. If you're looking to buy something it would be useful to look at this page to see if you can buy it with cash back.
Misc Phone Apps IF you have an android or iOS phone you can download a few apps to make some passive/quick income. I recommend the following:
- Google Opinion Rewards (basically 30 second surveys for $0.20 periodically, adds up over time)
- S'more (displays ads on your lockscreen for $0.10/day, really adds up over time. Feel free to use my code ITDOIC to get a free $0.25)
Other sites worthy of mention - mTurk (somewhat low paying depending on skill)
- Sliceofpie (very low paying)
- SwagBucks (fairly passive, just use the search engine and you'll get an extra few dollars here and there. Ref Non-ref
- Various financial sites such as the [penny horder](google.com), thecashcache, etc have good information very frequently.
Freelancing: Benefits:
- Usually higher paying. For freelance writing $0.10 a word and for web development $40+/hr is absolutely standard for most industries and is considered the minimum rate.
- Can choose how much you want to work
- Set own rates
- You can choose to do something you enjoy
Drawbacks:
- Depending on market it may be over-saturated
- A lot of clients will try to undercharge you
- Third worlders may take some of your business (but on the plus side when they do a shitty job you'll get hired to fix it, which will usually be the same price as doing it in the first place)
- You need to have an actual skill (and no, your bullshit gender studies or ancient art history degree isn't a skill)
This is one of the least talked about models on other subs. In fact, I don't think I've seen a single post about how to start up as a freelancer on
workonline or anywhere else for that matter. It always puzzled me why people raved about sites that they make $3/hr on but I've never seen anyone talk about freelancing that way.
I've only personally done freelance writing and freelance web development, but some other avenues include graphic design, virtual assistance, among many other skills. I personally prefer freelance writing as well, I like to write and I feel I'm pretty good at it. Web development clients can be very... not good with the technical stuff and it is frustrating to explain when they wish to micromanage. I don't consider sites like textbroker or content mills in general to be freelancing - they fit more into the 'instant sites' category.
The keys to freelancing are knowing your shit and setting your rate so that you can actually live on it. For things like graphic design/writing/web development this should be no less than $40/hr. If you aren't making $40/hr, you're setting your rates way too low. You don't need your rate to be hourly (ex: can still charge writing by the word), you just need to make at least that hourly.
Your first steps to starting up freelancing should be as follows:
- Sign up for most of the freelancing sites. Guru, upwork, freelancer, sign up for them. They're mostly shit but you may be able to find a diamond if you shift through all of the dung. I got my first freelance web development client on eLance (now upwork, but I think the elance site is still up). $100 for a 2 hour job, pretty good for a freelancing website.
- Make your own website/hire someone to make a website for you. If you aren't into web development, please hire someone else to do it for you. As a freelance web developer myself I would charge around $500-700 to make a website, but I personally would give a large discount to someone wanting a website for their own freelancing. I imagine a lot of others would feel the same.
- Accept a few jobs under your paygrade to get a reputation/portfolio. This does not mean work for $5 an hour. Maybe make a design 50% off, maybe write at $0.05 a word for an article for charity.
- Establish relationships with customers, try to get them to come back. This one is simple enough. If someone seems like they would have a lot more work available for you (usually other freelancers outsourcing some of their work, or something like an affiliate marketer who constantly needs articles), then try to establish a more personal relationship with them and they might just throw you a bone in the future.
- Market your services wherever you can. I don't mean spam websites. Google "web developer needed" or "need a writer" and email the person who needs it, it's that simple.
The biggest issue I see with people freelancing is that they give up after a couple days of not getting any work. You're just starting out with no portfolio and no reputation and competing with people from the third world for jobs, of course starting up is going to be difficult. Stick to your guns and try to market yourself as much as possible.
How do I use this information to make a living online? This is the main topic of this post. I just gave you insight and a guide on starting up with two very good models of making money online. Now, how do you put it all together? I know what most of you may be thinking at this point, and you may or may not be surprised to my answer. A lot of you are probably asking "which one should I do?" The answer is this.
Both. Do both of them. Freelancing and instant sites go together like peanut butter and jelly, like oxygen and hydrogen, like money and people who want to be able to pay rent and eat food. How much time you allocate to each is truly up to you. You don't want to get rusty on either front, however. Do not rely entirely on freelancing or entirely on one instant site. The key here is diversity in where you get your income.
What do you do now? I'll give you a step by step guide. What do you have to lose by following it exactly? Nothing.
- Register on at least three of the freelancing sites. Guru, upwork, freelancer, I'm sure there are others too. Be sure you have a skill that you can market first.
- If you don't have a skill, develop one. Writing or web development or graphic design or anything. Check up on the sites to see what is needed.
- Register on some of the instant sites I provided, at least two of them.
- Bid for work in your skill on freelancing sites if you have a skill already.
- Start learning the instant sites, how to do surveys on CS, do hits on clickworker.
- Determine what your daily money goal is
- Make at least $15/day from instant sites, fill the rest in with freelancing and go back to instant sites if there are any gaps.
- If you have no freelancing jobs, split your effort on marketing and making your daily goal through instant sites. It is not impossible to make $50+/day on instant sites, but it's fairly difficult without clickworkeuhrs to be honest.
FAQ - Can I be a freelancer if I'm from -country-
- Of course, there is nothing stopping you from it. As long as your English skills are good no one should have qualms about hiring you, assuming you do a good job at least.
- How do you get paid from freelancing/instant sites
- Typically all transactions are done through PayPal
- Can I PM you on reddit to ask questions
- Sure! Be my guest, I enjoy helping people on this sub and that's why I wrote this guide. Feel free to ask questions in the comments as well.

2016.08.30 05:11 Garr1737 Helping my Rebels to Test the Might of the Dark Side!
Hey all, was looking for suggestions.
My girlfriend, a best friend, and I have been playing our first run through of IA. We've been having a great time! However, as the Imperial player, I find it MUCH too easy to win. I think I have much more experience than my friend, as I played 40k for years and HeroClix for a year or so as well. This is the lady's first minis game.
Naturally, I've tried to keep them winning about 3/4 of the time, so that we all have a good time. Honestly I'm having fun either way, but want a real challenge. The question I come to you with is, how can I empower them without throwing games myself? I'll take any and all advice.
The system I've come up with initially is to give them 'money per kill', so that they're getting many more items. (ex- 1 Stormtrooper is worth $10-with a bonus for finishing all 3 of a squad off, AT-ST is worth $100, etc).
Has anyone else run into this sort of thing?
edit: FYI, we're half way through the initial box set's campaign.

2016.04.09 18:00 chronoeclipse Unclixed X-Men Primer Part 1: X-Men proper
Hello everyone! I've put together a primer of all of the characters that have ever been on an x-team. Here I give you some stats on their appearances, other teams they've been on, their first and last appearances, a brief synopsis and then my speculation on the likelihood of them getting made in a future set. This first article will just focus on characters that have been a member of a proper x-men team but future installments will cover:
X-Factor Exaclibur X-Force New Mutants Generation X Morrison's New X-Men The NEW New Mutants (New Mutants Vol. 2) Academy X The Young X-Men Five Lights Jean Grey School Students New Xavier School Students.
All data is pre-Secret Wars with Uncanny X-Men #600 considered the most recent issue counted.
**Lesser Known X-Men**
Wraith First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #392 (2001) Last Appearance: X-Men Vol. 1 #133 (2001) Total number of appearances in X-books: 4 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 4 No not John Wraith from the Weapon X program and not Wraith the Kree gunslinger from Annihilation: Conquest. This is Wraith the blink-and-you’ll-miss-him member of X-men during the forgettable Eve of Destruction event.
He had invisibility powers that also made his skin translucent. He was an honest to goodness X-Man for a total of 4 issues even getting a gold belt with a red and black X buckle! That’s how you know he’s legit. Unfortunately he fell into comic limbo after Eve of Destruction and it turns out he lost his powers on M-Day.
Chances of being clixed: 2% - I wouldn’t be surprised if even Marvel has forgotten about this guy.
Omerta First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #392 (2001) Last Appearance: Weapon X #5 (2003) Total number of appearances in X-books: 5 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 5 Another flash in the pan x-guy from the Eve of Destruction event. Omerta was seemingly created to show us that even the Mafia are prejudice against mutants, even though his invulnerability powers would work make him a great enforcer. He spent his four issues as an X-man scamming on the ladies, being a homophobe and getting his butt handed to him by Magneto.
Rather than let him float away into comic obscurity like his fellow “X-Man” Wraith, Omerta was brought back for a cameo in the Weapon X series and promptly euthanized.
Chances of being clixed: 2% - Low appearance totals, the fact that he’s been dead in the comics for over 10 years and a pretty run-of-the-mill power set leads me to believe that this made-man is never seeing the light of heroclix day.
Ariel First Appearance: Marvel Age #48 (1987) Last Appearance: X-Men Legacy #260 (2012) Total number of appearances in X-books: 10 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 19 Other significant Teams: Fallen Angels She’s a Valley-Girl alien from the far off planet of Coconut Grove. She has teleportation and vocal influence powers and she’s teamed up with the likes of Warlock, Devil Dinosaur and a lobster!
Though a majority of her appearances were with the 80s teen group the Fallen Angels after they disbanded she disappeared from comics for 20 years only to reappear on Utopia among the remaining mutants following the Decimation. After some time helping the X-Club and the X-Men in various teleportation capacities she was blown up by Bastion during the Second Coming event and presumed dead.
But that wasn’t the end for our fashion-forward mutant alien. During X-Men Legacy Rogue discovers that Ariel survived in a limbo between worlds that she had escaped to during the blast. She forms a team to go and rescue her and bring her back to the land of the living. They succeed and though rescued from that limbo she’s resumed her place in comic limbo ever since.
Chances of being clixed: 10% I’m rating her chances low based on the low amount of appearances she’s actually made but it could be much higher if a set featured a strong Fallen Angels sub-theme or if a Second Coming OP event ever occurred. I would put the chances of either of those things happening at less than 10%.
Sunpyre First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #392 (2001) Last Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #406 (2002) Total number of appearances in X-books: 9 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 9 The sister of Sunfire, not to be confused with the Sunpyre that was a member of Alpha Flight and Big Hero 6. This Sunpyre joined the X-men during the Eve of Destruction event along with Wraith and Omerta but unlike the other two she popped back up when Banshee was putting together the X-Corps. With X-Corps she discovered the fine American tradition of being stabbed to death by Mystique.
Chances of being clixed: 15% I could see the remote possibility of her popping up as a prime to one of the many similar Japanese fire-based characters but her paltry comic appearances and death leave her likely out of the game.
Lifeguard First Appearance: X-Treme X-Men #6 (2001) Last Appearance: Uncanny X-Men Vol. 2 #1 (2012) Total number of appearances in X-books: 19 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 19 Life Guard is a half Mutant/Half Shi’ar with the power to sense danger and then morph her body into what’s ever needed to save the people in danger. Lifeguard’s career as a human Deus Ex Machina began in X-Treme X-men where she joined the team with her brother Slipstream. Her biggest claim to fame is being in a love triangle with Psylocke and Neal Shaara. After the X-Treme X-men she joined the Mumbai wing of the X-Corporation (totally different thing than X-Corps) where she worked until M-Day. Though never being used in comics since then she did manage to retain her powers past the decimation and can be seen randomly in the background on Utopia around the time of Scism.
Chances of being Clixed: 20% So don’t get me wrong, I think her power set would be really fun to see in clix form, but her major run in the x-books came during a largely forgotten time in the lore.
Slipstream First Appearance: X-Treme X-Men #6 (2001) Last Appearance: X-Men: The End Book 3 #5 (2006) Total number of appearances in X-books: 21 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 21 Lifeguard’s brother, he surfs through a teleportation portal on a surfboard to anywhere he wants to go. He can also teleport others and even lock in on the location of people to surf through his “warp wave” to them. He was a member of the X-Treme X-men until his denial and self-hatred of his Shi’ar side got the better of him. He quit the team and wasn’t seen again until after M-Day where we discovered that he lost his mutant powers and just became a regular half-human/half Shi’ar surfer.
Chances of being clixed: 20% he was there for a good chunk of X-Treme X-Men but not really anything beyond that. He no longer has his powers and hasn’t been seen on the pages of a comic book in 10 years.
Adam X First Appearance: X-Force Annual #2 (1993) Last Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #542 (2011) Total number of appearances in X-books: 13 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 20 Adam X “The X-Treme” is the bastard son of Shi’ar despot D’Ken. He roams the world looking like Fred Durst in Shedder cosplay and has the “X-treme!” power to ignite the electrolytes in people's bloodstream causing folks to burn from the inside out.
He was originally planned to be the hinted-at third summers brother but after a few years of strong hints and random storylines that had Adam X teaming with the likes of Shatterstar and Genis-Vel the plot was abandoned and Vulcan was revealed to be the third brother years later. Adam X tumbled into comic obscurity only popping up once in the past 10 years to get beaten-up by the Dark X-Men.
Chances of being clixed: 30% - he’s more 90s than a grunge band but 90s nostalgia seems to be big right now (hello Fuller House!). There’s no clear subtheme he would fit but he’s at least still remembered, if only for what he never ended up being.
Stacy X First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #399 (2001) Last Appearance: New Warriors #20 (2009) Total number of appearances in X-books: 25 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 41 Other Significant Teams: New Warriors What kind of character did the X-Men need to bring them into the 21st century? How about a humanoid snake with pheromone powers working the world's oldest profession? And thus we have Stacy X. She spent more of her time on the team unsuccessfully using her seduction powers on her teammates and servicing Johns. But if you were confused about whether or not she was officially an X-man you need look no further than the X next to her name!
Unfortunately Stacy X lost her powers on M-day and just became a regular old hooker. That is, until she is recruited into the New New Warriors. She became a member of the team along with a bunch of other depowered mutants wearing a hodge podge of D-list spider-man villain technology. She had a good run with the team until a jet-pack accident turned her into barbecued snake nuggets.
In an example of poor editorial oversight Stacy X appeared recently in the Vengeance series with her mutant powers back having sex for money and then getting shamed by Magneto. One may be able to argue that this took place before M-day but it may just be easier for us all to assume that this is a DIFFERENT mutant snake-prostitute named Stacy X who DIDN’T lose her powers on M-day and then die a fiery death as a member of the New Warriors.
Chances of being clixed: 40% She didn’t have much impact on the actual x-men but if we ever get a strong New Warriors subtheme in a set she may pop up.
Revanche First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #256 (1989) Last Appearance: Psylocke #4 (2010) Total number of appearances in X-books: 29 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 30 Other Significant Teams: Hand, Sisterhood of Mutants Revanche (or Revenge if you’re French) is the Japanese assassin Kwannon whose mind inhabited Betsy Braddock's body. The body transfer left their memories and abilities muddled and when Revanche shows up at the X-mansion it leads to a mistaken identity plot that would make the writer of “The Comedy of Errors” jealous. Revanche ends up joining the X-Men Blue team and going on a series of adventures with the team until she contracts the legacy virus. She ends up dying but not before clearing the air about who the real Betsy Braddock is.
Years later the Sisterhood of Mutants digs up Revanche and reanimates her to mess with Psylocke. More body swap confusion ensues and finally Psylocke puts her original body to rest for the last time.
Chances of being clixed: 40% She’s a GREAT candidate for a prime of Psylocke and she was a team member during the early 90s x-boom but beyond that with her dead status and the only modern appearance of her being a plot device I don’t see a strong chance of her getting made.
Maggot First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #345 (1997) Last Appearance: X-Men Legacy #231 (2010) Total number of appearances in X-books: 46 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 47 Other Significant Teams: Generation X A South African mutant with external sentient slugs for a digestive system, Maggot was a member of the X-men for an entire year. He spent much of his time on the team, understandably, being embarrassed about the nature of his power.
When the rest of the team realized that he was a teenager and that his slugs make him more buff and manly whenever they eat random objects, he was booted down to the Generation X team. There he fought one forgettable battle and then left to comic limbo.
Later he reappeared on the Neverland ranch, the less dangerous and less well-known one run by Weapon X. Here he was mercifully euthanized for having a crappy super-power.
Selene resurrected him very briefly during the Necrosha storyline but the X-Men fought to make sure that readers would never have to witness Maggot’s slug-intestines consume another thing.
Chances of being clixed: 50% he’s basically infamous at this point for being too weird and silly of a character. If you look up any list of ‘worst x-men of all time’ on the internet odds are even that he will be on it. But he’s still remembered by a lot of fans and has appeared in enough issues to make a case for his heroclix debut - I mean hey, they gave us Crazy Quilt.
Thunderbird (Sheera) First Appearance: X-Men Vol. 1 #100 (2000) Last Appearance: X-Men: The End Book 3 #1 (2006) Total number of appearances in X-books: 40 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 40 Neal Shaara was a young man in Calcutta with the latent mutant ability to transform his body into thermodynamic energy. He didn’t realize he was a mutant until Bastion kidnapped his brother and he teamed up with local cop Karima Shapandar to rescue him. This was during the time of Operation Zero Tolerance when Bastion was all about turning people into Sentinels. He fails to save his brother or prevent Karima from being turned into Omega Sentinel and ends up joining the X-Men. He takes the name Thunderbird because Chris Claremont evidently made the same mistake Christopher Columbus did.
He spent more of his X-days with the clandestine outfit X-Treme X-Men. Here he dated Psylocke until she died that one time and then rebounded with Lifeguard who he left the team with to go not be in comics for a while.
He was a member of the X-Corporation for a hot second but after M-Day, though he supposedly still has his mutant powers, he hasn’t been seen.
Chances of being clixed: 55% he’s a possible outside-the-box choice for a prime of one of the previous thunderbirds. He is also the lone holdout to complete the initial group of X-Treme X-Men. We’ve seen Karima get clixed but she’s popped up in x-books more consistently than Neal has. Though his chances could go up, since he’s not dead or depowered, if he resurfaced in one of the current series.
Sabra First Appearance: The Incredible Hulk #250 (1980) Last Appearance: X-Men Vol. 3 #16 (2014) Total number of appearances in X-books: 29 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 49 A high ranking member of Israel’s Mossad - Sabra has teamed up with many members of the Marvel community. She basically shows up whenever there needs to be an “international” feel to a particular story arc. But, being a mutant with generic “Super powers” (Enhanced strength, speed, stamina, reflexes etc.) she’s mainly been wrapped up in x-business.
She teamed up with the X-men during Operation Zero Tolerance and then against the majority of them when she was a staunch support of the Registration Act during Civil War. She was even briefly a member of the X-Corporation.
She retained her powers through M-Day and was one of Spider-man’s international allies during the Ends of the Earth arc where she was shot and seemingly killed by Crossbones.
Since then she “got better” and was most recently seen assisting the all-women X-Men team in the adjectiveless Marvel Now X-book.
Chance of being clixed: 60% She’s always been more of a device to provide the protagonists important intel or a non-American ally. She’s never had her own series or been a regular in any book. BUT she’s been a recognizable support character for over 35 years who has teamed up with a LOT of heroes.
Lady Mastermind First Appearance: X-Treme X-Men #6 (2001) Last Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #600 (2016) Total number of appearances in X-books: 37 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 37 Other Significant Teams: Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Hellfire Club, Marauders, Sisterhood of Mutants Daughter of original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants member Mastermind and half-sister of Martinique Jason (Mastermind II) and the X-Man Pixie, Regan Wyngarde has been a pretty persistent player in the X-universe over the past fifteen years despite being a poor cross between her father and Emma Frost.
She started out working for the Hellfire Club and being a thorn in the X-Treme X-men team’s side. Things backfired and she ended up in a coma. A completely forgettable villain ended up experimenting on her comatose body and Rogue took pity on her bringing her into the X-Men and giving her an x-uniform to cover herself up. She battled along side the X-men through a bunch of adventures while holding the role of resident mean girl until she teamed up with Mystique and the Marauders to betray the x-men. This once again did not work out for her as her illusion couldn’t pass a Wolverine sniff-test so he stabbed her and left her for dead.
She was part of the Sisterhood of Mutants along with her sister when they resurrected Revanche. This also ended in violence against Regan due to her pissing off Emma Frost who in turn beat her up seemingly for ripping off her fashion sense.
Most recently she was seen working out her daddy issue by manipulating Jean Grey. Not surprisingly, this did not go well for her.
Chances of being clixed: 65% She’s a legacy character and the only one on this list that we’ve seen in comics in the months leading up to Secret Wars. She’s an active villain who is the last hold out team member from Mike Carey’s run on the book. Heck if we get more than the original line-up of Marauders she may even be in this upcoming set.
*I also think it was a serious missed opportunity not to make her the prime of Emma Frost in the upcoming set. They clearly share a closet and hairstylist.
Joseph First Appearance: X-Men Vol. 1 #46 (1995) Last Appearance: Magneto: Not a Hero #4 (2012) Total number of appearances in X-books: 40 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 48 Joseph appeared to the X-Men shortly after the destruction of Astroid M as a genial young man with no memory, magnetic powers and inexplicable long white hair. The vast majority of Joseph’s time with the team was spent building suspense over the question: Is Joseph really just Magneto with amnesia. The answer to that question was revealed four years later in Magneto War and it turns out: No! He’s just a clone created by a brand new character Astra who was a secret member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants that we never knew about until now!
Joseph went on a bunch of adventures with the X-men in that span battling Onslaught and getting involved in a love triangle with Rogue and Gambit. Finally when the truth came out he confronted his genetic father in an intense battle and sacrificed himself to save the planet from Magneto doing bad magnetic stuff to it! Due to his cloneness this caused Joseph to age rapidly and disperse his life force into Earth’s magnetosphere.
His honorable death was undone a few years ago during the appropriately titled “Not a Hero” mini-series where Astra brought Joseph back and a prick along with a bunch of malformed versions of the original Brotherhood to give Magneto one more bad day. Magneto beat them all down and Joseph is now rotting in a S.H.I.E.L.D. containment cell somewhere.
Chances of being Clixed: 65% He hasn’t been seen much in comics since the turn of the century outside of the aforementioned continuity-butchering story ‘Magneto: Not a Hero’ but he was a member of the x-men for a REALLY long time. Basically you can’t put together an X-line-up from the second half of the 90s without this guy. One could argue that since he’s a clone he could easily be proxied by any of the many Magneto’s that we have. But I think that he’d make a really solid prime for mags and it would give us our only opportunity to see Magnus in a proper Blue and Gold x-uniform.
Cecelia Reyes First Appearance: X-Men Vol. 1 #65 (1997) Last Appearance: X-Men Vol. 3 #22 (2015) Total number of appearances in X-books: 77 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 81 Other Significant Teams: Loners Cecelia Reyes was an incredibly hard-working headstrong woman who got herself in to med school and became a doctor. She kept her mutant force field powers a secret because overcoming prejudices against her being a woman of Puerto Rican descent were enough. This were actually going quite well for her until Professor X showed up at her hospital attempting to recruit her out of her life as a doctor and into his paramilitary outfit under the guise of “teaching her how to use her powers”. Fortunately Reyes had the wherewithal to turn him down. But sure enough shortly after Bastion and his Omega Sentinels showed up to blow her cover. Career over, she reluctantly moved in with the X-men.
Still not sure about joining the official team she begrudgingly stayed as a guest at the mansion until she could put her life back together. It wasn’t until she tended to Daredevil that she finally reconsidered the X-Men. Ol’ horn head reasoned to her that as a Doctor she was only saving one person at a time but by beating people up she could save thousands of lives every day like he does!
She has a number of adventures and begins dating beast but eventually that itch to be an actual medical doctor again got to her and she left the tram to open a clinic in Salem Center. It was here that she had the most Grey’s Anatomy thing happen to her when she killed a supervillain and became addicted to drugs. Nightcrawler brought her back to the mansion for detox and she kicked her habit just in time to celebrate the cure of the legacy virus. Unfortunately she wasn’t able to save Colossus’ life when he sacrificed himself to administer the cure.
After this Cecelia ended up at the Neverland concentration camp but was deemed OT-Clear and did not get euthanized. She got an apartment and a medical job in Chinatown until M-day. She retained her powers and ended up on Utopia with the majority of the rest of the mutants. She would occasionally go on missions where her skills were needed or to pop up to say “hi i’m still around!”
At some point she also was kind-a sort-a seeing Gambit?
Chances of being Clixed: 70% she’s been a pretty consistent supporting x-character since her first appearance and though she’s not been an official member of any x-team for a few years now she still regularly appears in x-books. I’d say it’s not a matter of if she’ll be clixed but when.
Gateway First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #229 (1988) Last Appearance: Uncanny X-Force #28 (2012) Total number of appearances in X-books: 55 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 60 Other Significant Teams: Reavers, Generation X Gateway is an aboriginal Australian who was being forced to serve the Reavers at the time the X-men met him. The Reavers appreciated his ability to spin a bullroarer to create wormholes and his ‘man of few words’ attitude. The X-men also appreciate these things when they beat down the Reavers and gained Gateway’s freedom.
He became an honorary X-Man and their chief source of transportation throughout their Australian Outback period. Once the X-men came back to the states Gateway took up residence at the Massachusetts Academy with the members of Generation X.
Probably due to his ‘australian dahli lama’ motif he has going for him, many young mutants have taken up mentorship with Gateway from the St. Croix Twins who at the time were impersonating their older sister Monet to the Secret Warriors and Avengers member Manifold, who also happened to be a teleporting Aborigine. Gateway also eventually dropped the truth bomb that he’s Bishop’s great-grandfather.
The X-men turned to Gateway many times over the years, less when they were looking for thrilling conversation and more when they wanted to get somewhere really fast without having to pay a lot for gas. Unfortunately Gateway’s now sitting cross-legged and spinning his bullroarer up in heaven now because he had his neck broken by the human-sentinal hybrid Ultimaton during Remender’s Uncanny X-Force run.
Chances of being clixed: 80% Gateway has been a long-time ally of the x-men, opping up in various issues for years and has played a crucial role in many significant character’s stories. And we already have a good example of what his dial could look like in Avengers Assembled’s Manifold.
Frenzy First Appearance: X-Factor Vol. 1 #4 (1986) Last Appearance: Nightcrawler #4 (2014) Total number of appearances in X-books: 102 Total number of Marvel comics appearances: 121 Other Significant Teams: Acolytes, Alliance of Evil, Femizons, Marauders What a ride Joanna Cargill has had! A young woman with powers similar to Luke cage but better, Frenzy started off her mutant career by killing her abusive father. After that she became a mercenary working for Apocalypse’s “I-can’t-believe-they’re-not-horsemen” team the Alliance of Evil.
After that didn’t pan out Joanna found religion in the form of Magneto’s Acolytes. Frenzy continued the good lords work of murder and mayhem in the name of mutant supremacy through the fall of Avalon, Exodus taking over and the founding of Magneto’s Genosha. She was even named Genosha’s ambassador.
Her first stint as an X-man was due to being mind controlled by Jean Grey during the Eve of Destruction storyline. Jean forced Frenzy to pummel her hero Magneto senseless but in the end there were no hard feelings.
After the decimation Frenzy wound up with a group of acolytes working for Mr. Sinister who preferred to call them Marauders. These marauders went up against the X-men during the Messiah Complex and ended up kidnapping Prof. X. Frenzy wanted to kill the professor for being so mean to Magneto over the years but Magneto stopped her by giving her unauthorized brain surgery. This led to a falling out between Magneto and Exodus. Ironically Professor X was the one who eventually undid the brain damage Magneto caused.
After her final tour with the acolytes Frenzy ended up on Utopia where she was a generally problematic member of society, causing riots, scheming to overthrow the leadership, being a jerk to people etc. However this all changed when Legion created the Age of X alternate reality and Joanna believed herself to be a member of the x-men and Scott Summers girlfriend.
When the normal reality was restored Joanna retained her feelings for Cyclops and became less of a jerk. She joined Rogue’s X-men and became an important member in the pre-AvX period of the team.
Chances of being Clixed: 85% Frenzy has a lot going for her. She fits a number of strong sub-theme possibilities, she was a prominent villain for decades and was a member of the team in the recent past. There’s a good chance we could even see her debut in this upcoming set.

2016.01.20 11:21 Shibest Shibest's Ultimate Guide to Making a Living Online
As many of you may know I'm an avid reader and contributor to the
/workonline subreddit, checking the sub nearly ever day and having written two other guides on the subject of working online. I started working on this guide about a month or so ago because I noticed a distinct lack of certain topics on this sub.
One thing I'd like to get out of the way for anyone who may be new to this sub, you aren't going to be rich working online. I mean, you can be. But naturally, you're not going to get rich from it. Don't expect to even make 6 figures unless you're a damn good business-savy freelancer or doing risky affiliate marketing (unlikely). In my opinion, the true benefit of working online is accessibility and consistency, not the pay. You can work from anywhere in the world with an internet connection, that's benefit enough.
Now, the way I see it, there are four big models on how to earn money online and I'd like to address all but one of them in this post. The four are Affiliate Marketing, Freelancing, Multi-level Marketing, and what I like to call "Instant Sites". I won't be addressing affiliate marketing in this post because I don't have that much knowledge or experience in that regard. I want this post to be focused on freelancing because I've already done a pretty decent
guide on the instant sites and I haven't seen a lot of posts discussing freelancing on this sub.
Freelancing: Benefits:
- Usually higher paying. For freelance writing $0.10 a word and for web development $40+/hr is absolutely standard and is considered the minimum rate.
- Can choose how much you want to work
- Set own rates
- You can choose to do something you enjoy
Drawbacks: * Depending on market it may be over-saturated * A lot of clients will try to undercharge you * Third worlders may take some of your business (but on the plus side when they do a shitty job you'll get hired to fix it, which will usually be the same price as doing it in the first place) * You need to have an actual skill (and no, your bullshit gender studies or ancient art history degree isn't a skill)
This is one of the least talked about models on this sub. In fact, I don't think I've seen a single post about how to start up as a freelancer.
Multi-level pyramid sch-I mean marketing I'm not even going to go into detail about this. Take this as more of a cautionary warning. 99% of MLM companies are pyramid schemes that are slightly less schemey and slightly more pyramidy. Very few of these can the average joe earn a living actually selling the product without referrals. If you can find the 1% of MLM companies that aren't over-saturated and actually have a good product, go right ahead and go for it. But you're most likely not going to and you're gonna end up wasting time and possibly money.
Instant sites Despite what I've said about freelancing, these are my favorite money makers.
Benefits: * CONSISTENT, this is the best part about it * Usually able to earn at least $6/hr * Able to make money almost instantly, no marketing required * Don't have to deal with clients
This adds a 7-16% (depending on if you're premium or not) bonus to whatever you earned that day. If you earned $30 doing surveys that day and got a 16% bonus, congratulations you get an extra $5. Though, you'd have to be doing surveys for about 4-5 hours to get that much.
Secondly, get a premium account but only if you're willing to commit to doing the daily checklist bonus at least once or twice a week. There isn't really any benefit to the premium account unless you're doing the checklist, which you should be. If you earn $10 a day (which you should be) you'll be earning an extra $1.6/day from completing the checklist while premium. You can also buy premium with money you make from the site as well, so if you aren't sure just do $17 worth of surveys and then buy it at virtually no cost.
ClickworkeUHRS Link Registration is currently down for the U.S.
Other sites worthy of mention - mTurk (somewhat low paying depending on skill)
- Sliceofpie (very low paying)
- Transcribeme (I couldn't get past the test)

So I really loved playing DDM as a kid. One problem was that they flopped pretty quickly, and only had one or two expansion sets. With hero clix now a thing, my girlfriend and I are refining the rules a bit and making cards/effects to go with the figures. Would anyone here be interested in the finalized product when completed?

2014.10.03 02:54 sonofseriousinjury Does anybody have a Kyle Rayner figure/figurine that wouldn't mind taking photos of it for me?
My girlfriend is a big Kyle Rayner fan and I'm trying to custom make her a figure/figurine for Christmas. I planned on buying a cheap figure off of eBay, taking it apart, taking pictures of it and then 3D printing a larger version. I wanted to file it and paint it with her favorite costume design. I've been trying to bid on cheap figures on eBay for the last several days, but I just lost bidding on a Blackest Night action figure at the last second.
Of course, I don't expect anybody to take apart their figures, but if somebody would be willing to take a bunch of pictures from all different angles I would really appreciate it. Whether it's the Blackest Night figure, the HeroClix or some other variation I'm open to it (especially the large statues). She doesn't really like his hairstyle when he's got the 90's wave going on, but I think I could dremel, file or sculpt it once I get it printed. I can also resize in the program, so that's not really an issue either.
Thank you!
EDIT: I just picked up a Blue Lantern figure on eBay, so I'm going to try using that as a starting point. Thank you for the help!

My girlfriend is really into Adventure Time and started collecting the miniature figures. She was in the process of casting them in resin molds for an art project and decided that there needed to be an Adventure Time tabletop war game. Is there a good GURPS style generic rule set that can be used as the basis for a tabletop war game?
